Raineys 00:05:16.38\00:05:18.61 all of the great evangelist, she worked with them all. 00:05:18.65\00:05:21.18 Yeah. 00:05:21.22\00:05:22.55 She had a choir for years at the Ephesus Church. 00:05:22.58\00:05:24.92 And you mentioned the name of Rosalyn Jones 00:05:24.95\00:05:27.26 anywhere in New York City-- 00:05:27.29\00:05:28.92 really anywhere among that age group of ministers 00:05:28.96\00:05:31.99 and laypeople, everybody knew Rosalyn Jones. 00:05:32.03\00:05:33.60 I think they still have pictures of her out front. 00:05:33.63\00:05:35.76 I was one at the churches there 00:05:35.80\00:05:37.73 and I saw pictures of Rosalyn Jones, 00:05:37.77\00:05:40.17 that's your grandmother, right? 00:05:40.20\00:05:41.54 Yeah, that was my grandmother. 00:05:41.57\00:05:42.90 So I guess she's left her mark for sure. 00:05:42.94\00:05:44.27 Oh, yeah. 00:05:44.31\00:05:45.64 Now you talked about Binky and you said she was. 00:05:45.67\00:05:47.84 Tell us about Binky? 00:05:47.88\00:05:49.21 In 2009 she had a liver transplant 00:05:53.95\00:05:59.25 and-- well, let me go back a little bit. 00:05:59.29\00:06:03.09 Binky and I when our mom died, 00:06:03.12\00:06:06.80 I was 19 and Binky was nine 00:06:06.83\00:06:10.17 and she was going on ten. 00:06:10.20\00:06:12.63 And Binky and I went different routes. 00:06:12.67\00:06:16.40 Binky got involved with drugs early, 00:06:16.44\00:06:21.11 very early in her life 00:06:21.14\00:06:22.91 and I went on to I finished school 00:06:22.94\00:06:26.48 and the music business and all that. 00:06:26.51\00:06:28.28 So we really, we lived very different lives. 00:06:28.32\00:06:31.32 Binky was very street savvy and I really was naive 00:06:31.35\00:06:34.59 and I was the kind of the book worm and Binky was intelligent 00:06:34.62\00:06:39.03 but she just didn't go that route. 00:06:39.06\00:06:40.66 So our lives went that way but then she became ill 00:06:40.70\00:06:46.33 and I lived in Dallas and she decided 00:06:46.37\00:06:49.00 to come to be with me 00:06:49.04\00:06:50.91 and maybe I could help her because at the time 00:06:50.94\00:06:53.27 I was doing alternative medicine. 00:06:53.31\00:06:55.44 We will talk more about that later. 00:06:55.48\00:06:56.95 So she came there 00:06:56.98\00:06:58.68 and I helped her by the grace of God in her, 00:06:58.71\00:07:03.25 when she came I didn't know 00:07:03.28\00:07:04.85 but she had only been give about six months when she came. 00:07:04.89\00:07:10.03 And she was in Dallas for few years 00:07:10.06\00:07:12.99 and she had a liver transplant on March 23 of 2009 00:07:13.03\00:07:17.23 and the surgery itself was successful 00:07:17.27\00:07:23.07 but she never really came out from the anesthesia. 00:07:23.10\00:07:26.57 And May 9, she passed away. 00:07:26.61\00:07:28.81 Wow. Okay. 00:07:28.84\00:07:30.18 And I'm so grateful 00:07:30.21\00:07:33.52 because the Lord brought her back to Him. 00:07:33.55\00:07:36.82 I have the assurance 00:07:36.85\00:07:38.22 that my sister is resting in Jesus. 00:07:38.25\00:07:40.49 So I'm not, 00:07:40.52\00:07:41.86 you know, when I began to well up with tears, 00:07:41.89\00:07:44.49 it's just because I miss her, 00:07:44.53\00:07:46.23 but it's not because I don't have the assurance 00:07:46.26\00:07:48.26 that she is resting in Jesus. 00:07:48.30\00:07:50.67 So I'm really thankful for that. 00:07:50.70\00:07:52.37 And also for the mercy of God that He allowed her, 00:07:52.40\00:07:58.37 she was asleep but I knew she could hear me. 00:07:58.41\00:08:01.08 So it was kind of like He was weaning me, 00:08:01.11\00:08:03.75 giving me time to adjust to not having her with me 00:08:03.78\00:08:08.38 but yet she was still, she was still there. 00:08:08.42\00:08:10.52 Yeah. 00:08:10.55\00:08:11.89 So it was, God is so merciful 00:08:11.92\00:08:13.59 and He is so gentle with the way He deals with us. 00:08:13.62\00:08:16.62 Jason, what do you remember about Aunt Binky? 00:08:16.66\00:08:18.96 What sticks out in your mind? 00:08:18.99\00:08:20.50 Oh, man, she was a lot of fun. 00:08:20.53\00:08:22.23 Okay. 00:08:22.26\00:08:23.60 But she cared for so many people. 00:08:23.63\00:08:26.70 You could go to her house on given day and see 00:08:26.74\00:08:29.94 what looked like the whole neighborhood 00:08:29.97\00:08:33.51 that she just took in. 00:08:33.54\00:08:34.88 Okay. 00:08:34.91\00:08:36.24 You know, she really cared about kids. 00:08:36.28\00:08:37.61 She was huge on family, very family oriented. 00:08:37.65\00:08:40.52 And she would give you the shirt off her back. 00:08:40.55\00:08:42.88 All right. 00:08:42.92\00:08:44.25 I remember when I was a kid though 00:08:44.29\00:08:45.95 I used to look at her crazy 00:08:45.99\00:08:47.32 because she seem, she seemed like she was real stern. 00:08:47.36\00:08:50.19 Yeah, I wasn't, I wasn't really liking her when I was young 00:08:50.23\00:08:54.60 but then as I grew up I just, I loved her so much. 00:08:54.63\00:08:58.30 Yeah, all right. 00:08:58.33\00:08:59.77 Now your dad he is right here in Southern Illinois now. 00:08:59.80\00:09:02.90 How did you get, where did you get him from? 00:09:02.94\00:09:04.77 He is. Okay. 00:18:13.36\00:18:14.89 She was a wonderful mother and I have no complaints. 00:18:14.92\00:18:18.69 My childhood was great. 00:18:18.73\00:18:20.06 Now she had already come back to the Lord as you said, 00:18:20.10\00:18:22.40 baptize when you were in a womb yet, right? 00:18:22.43\00:18:24.53 Yes. 00:18:24.57\00:18:25.90 So you're growing up, now you got a mom who is very, 00:18:25.93\00:18:29.30 very spiritual 00:18:29.34\00:18:30.84 but she is wanting you to go to church all the time. 00:18:30.87\00:18:32.94 So by looking at him, 00:18:32.97\00:18:34.91 I would just guess Jason did everything 00:18:34.94\00:18:37.08 he was ever asked to do. 00:18:37.11\00:18:38.68 Was a perfect child went over Sabbath 00:18:38.71\00:18:41.65 and never ever drifted away, how am I going? 00:18:41.68\00:18:44.82 How am I doing? 00:18:44.85\00:18:46.19 This way I have to be honest. 00:18:49.46\00:18:52.76 I did drift away but as a kid I mean, 00:18:52.79\00:18:58.93 mom took excellent care of me. 00:18:58.97\00:19:00.60 She worked hard, she was doing, 00:19:00.64\00:19:03.57 she was still singing jingles and stuff in the city. 00:19:03.61\00:19:06.81 But as I got older 00:19:06.84\00:19:08.18 and stepped away from the church, 00:19:08.21\00:19:09.81 I was probably about 14, 00:19:09.84\00:19:11.98 I started smoking marijuana 00:19:12.01\00:19:13.92 and drinking and partying and stuff. 00:19:13.95\00:19:16.28 Now where was this? 00:19:16.32\00:19:17.65 This was in Texas. Texas. 00:19:17.69\00:19:19.02 This was in, yeah, Arlington, Texas. 00:19:19.05\00:19:20.39 All right. 00:19:20.42\00:19:21.76 And so she was going off to school. 00:19:21.79\00:19:25.43 She was already studying massage therapy at the time. 00:19:25.46\00:19:29.36 She's been in school a lot. 00:19:29.40\00:19:32.20 She goes to school. She is a lifer. 00:19:32.23\00:19:33.57 Yeah. We call that a lifer. 00:19:33.60\00:19:35.07 You might have a class after this. 00:19:35.10\00:19:36.47 Yeah. 00:19:36.50\00:19:38.54 She goes, she went to school a lot. 00:19:38.57\00:19:40.38 So while she was doing that, 00:19:40.41\00:19:41.74 I was doing all the wrong things. 00:19:41.78\00:19:45.78 And so I got involved in the wrong lifestyle. 00:19:45.81\00:19:50.75 And I think at that time, 00:19:50.79\00:19:52.19 I just didn't feel like church applied to me. 00:19:52.22\00:19:55.06 I didn't feel like they were speaking to me 00:19:55.09\00:19:57.99 and I felt like they were talking to my mom 00:19:58.03\00:20:00.20 and my grandparents and, you know, that generation. 00:20:00.23\00:20:03.13 But going through all that 00:20:03.16\00:20:08.14 and later on some other experiences in life 00:20:08.17\00:20:12.67 ilike when my appendix raptured inside of me. 00:20:12.71\00:20:14.88 You know, sometimes you get through a circumstance 00:20:14.91\00:20:18.68 and, you know, like thank You God. 00:20:18.71\00:20:21.12 And you thank the Lord 00:20:21.15\00:20:23.08 but then you're right back out there doing 00:20:23.12\00:20:24.75 what you were doing before. 00:20:24.79\00:20:27.22 So I ended up selling drugs and things of that nature 00:20:27.26\00:20:31.83 and then I got arrested. 00:20:31.86\00:20:33.66 And when I got arrested 00:20:33.70\00:20:37.60 I was like, you know what, 00:20:37.63\00:20:39.57 "God, if you get me out of this one, 00:20:39.60\00:20:42.17 I am done. I am done." 00:20:42.20\00:20:45.21 So I got out of that one. 00:20:45.24\00:20:47.24 I still wasn't going to church 00:20:47.28\00:20:48.84 and all of that but I left it alone. 00:20:48.88\00:20:52.01 I haven't touched drugs and well say, 00:20:52.05\00:20:54.65 I'll be 30 probably 00:20:54.68\00:20:56.55 like ten, nine, ten years. 00:20:56.58\00:20:58.09 Oh, that's great. 00:20:58.12\00:20:59.72 Somewhere around there. Yeah. 00:20:59.75\00:21:01.62 You know, I got to tell you a story, Danny, 00:21:01.66\00:21:02.99 because once I baptized Yvonne 00:21:03.02\00:21:05.19 and we did a show on Trinity Broadcasting together. 00:21:05.23\00:21:08.13 We co-hosted a show then she moves away to Texas, 00:21:08.16\00:21:10.20 but I always kept in touch. 00:21:10.23\00:21:11.57 And I was in Texas every now and again, 00:21:11.60\00:21:12.93 for several years I always check up with her. 00:21:12.97\00:21:15.30 And I remember when Jason was in high school 00:21:15.34\00:21:17.21 because she put him in church school 00:21:17.24\00:21:19.27 and Jason says, "I want to go to public school. 00:21:19.31\00:21:21.18 I want to go to public school." 00:21:21.21\00:21:22.54 And she said, "Okay, you know, 00:21:22.58\00:21:23.91 I'm gonna let you go to public school." 00:21:23.95\00:21:25.41 But the first time you call 00:21:25.45\00:21:27.52 and say you want to do something on Friday night, 00:21:27.55\00:21:29.82 you are back in church school. 00:21:29.85\00:21:31.69 So I didn't talk with her for about a month. 00:21:31.72\00:21:33.25 I said, Yvonne, how you're doing? 00:21:33.29\00:21:34.66 She says, "Jason is back in church school." 00:21:34.69\00:21:38.09 I got yanked out of-- 00:21:38.13\00:21:39.66 He didn't go two weeks, how can I think of a month. 00:21:39.69\00:21:41.03 But she's saying, he is back in church school. 00:21:41.06\00:21:42.40 I got yanked so fast. 00:21:42.43\00:21:43.77 Yeah. 00:21:43.80\00:21:45.13 And it was because I wanted to go to the dance. 00:21:45.17\00:21:46.90 I wanted to go to homecoming dance. 00:21:46.94\00:21:49.07 She was like, no, you are going back to back. 00:21:49.10\00:21:50.97 No, back, you're going to the church school. 00:21:51.01\00:21:53.78 That's true. That's true. That's true. 00:21:53.81\00:21:56.21 So some of that from your mother 00:21:56.24\00:21:57.71 came on down to you, it sound like. 00:21:57.75\00:21:59.45 I think it did. I had live in, live in hell. 00:31:14.87\00:31:16.20 What, you did all that? 00:31:16.24\00:31:17.57 Yeah, because my schedule was so unpredictable. 00:31:17.61\00:31:21.41 I could get called for a 12 AM 00:31:21.44\00:31:24.31 session and that was, that was grueling, 00:31:24.35\00:31:27.38 but you have to be ready to go, 00:31:27.42\00:31:29.02 so I needed someone to be there with my kids when I went out. 00:31:29.05\00:31:33.05 And so-- 00:31:33.09\00:31:34.42 You and someone else 00:31:34.46\00:31:35.79 now well known in the Adventist church 00:31:35.82\00:31:37.16 you worked with. 00:31:37.19\00:31:38.53 Tell us who she is? Yolanda, Yolanda Palmer. 00:31:38.56\00:31:41.50 Oh, yeah. 00:31:41.53\00:31:42.86 Yolanda and I have just-- 00:31:42.90\00:31:45.50 we've been together since the '70s 00:31:45.53\00:31:48.57 and that's when we were doing jingles and. 00:31:48.60\00:31:52.61 Well, I started doing jingles in the '80s. 00:31:52.64\00:31:54.61 Actually we were doing sessions together 00:31:54.64\00:31:56.61 and then I started doing the jingles in the '80s. 00:31:56.64\00:31:59.71 She said the benefit of not going out in public 00:31:59.75\00:32:02.72 and being recognized so much 00:32:02.75\00:32:06.12 I know that when I went to Whitney Houston's funeralz 00:32:06.15\00:32:08.62 with Yvonne 00:32:08.66\00:32:09.99 and it seemed like everybody there in the business knew her 00:32:10.03\00:32:12.69 and was talking to her and Yvonne, 00:32:12.73\00:32:14.16 where have you been and all of this. 00:32:14.20\00:32:15.53 So in the industry she is very well known. 00:32:15.56\00:32:17.80 They know her. 00:32:17.83\00:32:19.17 People know who she is 00:32:19.20\00:32:20.64 but some members like Southern Illinois 00:32:20.67\00:32:22.40 what are you doing there? 00:32:22.44\00:32:23.77 What? 00:32:23.81\00:32:25.14 Chicago? 00:32:25.17\00:32:26.51 No, Southern Illinois. 00:32:26.54\00:32:27.88 Springfield? 00:32:27.91\00:32:29.24 That's as far south as they think we go, 00:32:29.28\00:32:30.61 we're good 175 miles south of Springfield but there, 00:32:30.65\00:32:33.92 you know, what are you doing there? 00:32:33.95\00:32:35.28 So it was people kind of imagine 00:32:35.32\00:32:37.65 you been out of the city, 00:32:37.69\00:32:39.02 you are New York to Dallas then coming to here. 00:32:39.05\00:32:41.42 But what brought you of course 00:32:41.46\00:32:43.22 was been manager of Dare to Dream Network 00:32:43.26\00:32:46.80 and actually, you know, we can say founder, 00:32:46.83\00:32:49.06 co-founder whatever you want to call it, 00:32:49.10\00:32:50.83 but coming here a dream that we all had 00:32:50.87\00:32:53.94 that literally-- 00:32:53.97\00:32:56.30 in fact, just tell us we got to get a little bit more, 00:32:56.34\00:32:58.24 we got some time. 00:32:58.27\00:32:59.61 You went into, you did your master's in social, right? 00:32:59.64\00:33:03.68 Social work. 00:33:03.71\00:33:05.05 But then that Jason says you were in school a long time. 00:33:05.08\00:33:08.05 Yeah. 00:33:08.08\00:33:09.42 You may have a class after this he is saying 00:33:09.45\00:33:11.55 but something there is probably something going on 00:33:11.59\00:33:14.52 she is taking class. 00:33:14.56\00:33:15.92 But you got into alternative medicine. 00:33:15.96\00:33:17.33 I did. 00:33:17.36\00:33:18.69 Let's talk about that for a bit? 00:33:18.73\00:33:20.06 Wow. 00:33:20.10\00:33:21.43 Well, in the jingle business you have a lot of time 00:33:21.46\00:33:24.27 on your hands because, 00:33:24.30\00:33:25.63 you know, you go in you do a session-- 00:33:25.67\00:33:27.00 After you singing and then you get your check 00:33:27.04\00:33:28.44 and you go deposit it in a bank 00:33:28.47\00:33:30.61 then you got lot of time on your hands. 00:33:30.64\00:33:31.97 You do. 00:33:32.01\00:33:33.34 And you get your checks through the mail. 00:33:33.38\00:33:35.48 So we call that mailbox money. 00:33:35.51\00:33:37.65 So you just go to email box 00:33:37.68\00:33:39.01 and you have maybe five or ten checks 00:33:39.05\00:33:40.65 and they were sizable 00:33:40.68\00:33:42.02 and you just put them in the bank. 00:33:42.05\00:33:43.39 It was really, it was really very interesting. 00:33:43.42\00:33:46.15 But-- 00:33:46.19\00:33:48.46 What a way to put it. 00:33:48.49\00:33:50.53 But during that time, 00:33:50.56\00:33:52.43 the Lord gave me this passion for natural health 00:33:52.46\00:33:54.93 and so I began to study 00:33:54.96\00:33:58.20 just alternative health in alternative medicine. 00:33:58.23\00:34:01.70 I began to study herbs and their application 00:34:01.74\00:34:06.74 and it was as though God had given me this gift for. 00:34:06.78\00:34:10.58 So I started really, really studying. 00:34:10.61\00:34:13.55 And I'm the type who when I get involved in something, 00:34:13.58\00:34:16.69 I immerse myself into it. 00:34:16.72\00:34:18.32 So I just got very, very involved 00:34:18.35\00:34:21.69 and I started taking classes. 00:34:21.72\00:34:23.22 So I took iridology, I took reflexology, 00:34:23.26\00:34:29.46 I took, and then I later, 00:34:29.50\00:34:32.80 I went into acupuncture 00:34:32.83\00:34:34.77 and traditional Chinese medicine. 00:34:34.80\00:34:36.87 I became a naturopathic doctor 00:34:36.91\00:34:39.21 and board certified 00:34:39.24\00:34:41.14 in traditional Chinese medicine. 00:34:41.18\00:34:43.11 So it was then so I was able to have my own-- 00:34:43.14\00:34:45.41 You got too much time on your hand. 00:34:45.45\00:34:47.08 Oh, yeah. 00:34:47.12\00:34:48.85 Well, that it was, 00:34:48.88\00:34:51.59 the traditional Chinese medical study was very intense 00:34:51.62\00:34:55.79 because you had to learn all the herbs 00:34:55.82\00:34:57.56 and their properties 00:34:57.59\00:34:58.93 and how to blend them 00:34:58.96\00:35:00.30 because you had your own pharmacy, herbal pharmacy. 00:35:00.33\00:35:03.00 And so it was, it was very, it was an intense study. 00:35:03.03\00:35:06.50 And poor Jason, I know he was, bless his heart 00:35:06.53\00:35:09.04 I was always studying 00:35:09.07\00:35:10.67 because I was trying to make a better life for him as well. 00:35:10.71\00:35:14.68 And I became your pincushion. 00:35:14.71\00:35:16.34 I know. 00:35:16.38\00:35:17.71 Can pick everything she learned. 00:35:17.75\00:35:19.65 Come here, Jay. 00:35:19.68\00:35:21.38 Let me work on you real quick. 00:35:21.42\00:35:23.02 Let me do this. Let me do that. 00:35:23.05\00:35:24.39 Oh, man. 00:35:24.42\00:35:25.75 That's true. Even acupuncture? 00:35:25.79\00:35:27.59 Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah, bless his heart. 00:35:27.62\00:35:31.19 Tell us little, tell us a little bit about acupuncture 00:35:31.23\00:35:33.60 then and now? 00:35:33.63\00:35:35.46 Well, when I went to the school for the open house, 00:35:35.50\00:35:41.50 I went to the Dallas College of Oriental Medicine 00:35:41.54\00:35:44.21 and I went to the school for their open house 00:35:44.24\00:35:46.04 and I remember asking, 00:35:46.07\00:35:47.41 "Is this related to eastern religion?" 00:35:47.44\00:35:51.88 And the guy told me, no. 00:35:51.91\00:35:54.12 He said, this is, 00:35:54.15\00:35:56.52 it does have elements of Darwinism in it 00:35:56.55\00:35:58.92 but you don't, 00:35:58.95\00:36:00.89 you don't practice eastern religion with it. 00:36:00.92\00:36:03.96 So I thought okay, 00:36:03.99\00:36:06.63 then this will be good 00:36:06.66\00:36:08.00 because it offers me clinical experience 00:36:08.03\00:36:11.00 and supervision and, 00:36:11.03\00:36:12.93 you know, it was an interesting course of study and I needed, 00:36:12.97\00:36:17.67 I needed to have that kind of clinical supervision. 00:36:17.71\00:36:21.34 So I went to the school and while I was in school 00:36:21.38\00:36:28.18 there were some things that I kind of brushed aside. 00:36:28.22\00:36:30.49 Like I thought that's a little bit strange but, 00:36:30.52\00:36:33.89 you know, I just kind of figured, 00:36:33.92\00:36:36.49 okay, I don't need to really worry about that. 00:36:36.52\00:36:39.43 Well, later my friend Yolanda, after I was practicing, 00:36:39.46\00:36:44.07 my friend Yolanda told me, you know, that is of the devil. 00:36:44.10\00:36:48.67 And she and I really, we fell out for little while over it 00:36:48.70\00:36:51.44 because my flesh just weld up in me and I was saying, 00:36:51.47\00:36:55.14 you don't know, what you're talking about. 00:36:55.18\00:36:56.61 I'm the one that studied this. 00:36:56.64\00:36:58.21 I know it's not from the devil. 00:36:58.25\00:36:59.81 And I would pray with my patients first 00:36:59.85\00:37:03.55 like asking God to help me with, 00:37:03.59\00:37:05.55 you know, but the Lord is so merciful. 00:37:05.59\00:37:07.86 I mean, really, 00:37:07.89\00:37:09.22 He's probably shaking His head looking me like this, 00:37:09.26\00:37:11.06 this child is just out of it. 00:37:11.09\00:37:12.86 But I thought I was doing something right 00:37:12.89\00:37:16.56 and then later I found out that it really was not of God. 00:37:16.60\00:37:21.27 And as I began to investigate it, 00:37:21.30\00:37:25.64 once I saw that it had its roots in astrology 00:37:25.67\00:37:30.15 and that and I felt like oh, my goodness. 00:37:30.18\00:37:35.75 I've been doing something that was rooted in astrology. 00:37:35.78\00:37:39.65 And as soon as I found that out 00:37:39.69\00:37:41.76 and it was 95 percent of my income. 00:37:41.79\00:37:44.16 As soon as I found that out I left it 00:37:44.19\00:37:47.33 because I knew that I had a decision to make 00:37:47.36\00:37:50.47 that either I was gonna continue along that path, 00:37:50.50\00:37:54.30 you know, of practicing acupuncture 00:37:54.34\00:37:57.97 or I was gonna do what God was telling me to do 00:37:58.01\00:38:00.48 and touch not the unclean thing. 00:38:00.51\00:38:03.24 Get away from it. 00:38:03.28\00:38:04.68 And there are gonna be some folks who write in 00:38:04.71\00:38:08.82 and call and say, you know, acupuncture is fine. 00:38:08.85\00:38:12.35 It works. 00:38:12.39\00:38:13.72 Yes, it works but like my dear brother Schubert Palmer, 00:38:13.76\00:38:16.59 Dr. Schubert Palmer said to me, acupuncture does work 00:38:16.62\00:38:20.20 but what's the power behind it? 00:38:20.23\00:38:22.86 And that is the question, what is the power behind it? 00:38:22.90\00:38:28.30 This is where, Danny, Yvonne, in the years I've known her, 00:38:28.34\00:38:31.77 I use a term gets point with me, 00:38:31.81\00:38:33.38 when she came to the Lord 00:38:33.41\00:38:35.58 she was in the industry making six figures 00:38:35.61\00:38:38.01 we can say, doing quite well. 00:38:38.05\00:38:40.48 I used to tease her because she and Yolanda, 00:38:40.52\00:38:43.18 this line of Mercedes Benz would come and park 00:38:43.22\00:38:45.12 in front of the church 00:38:45.15\00:38:46.49 and everyone will come to church 00:38:46.52\00:38:47.86 and sling they mix all over there, 00:38:47.89\00:38:49.22 you know, where they met over the pews. 00:38:49.26\00:38:51.73 But when they were baptized, 00:38:51.76\00:38:53.83 this group of men and women decided 00:38:53.86\00:38:55.66 there are certain kinds commercials 00:38:55.70\00:38:57.03 we are not gonna do any more. 00:38:57.07\00:38:58.40 We are not gonna sing for things that enter the body. 00:38:58.43\00:39:00.87 No more liquor, no more cigarettes, 00:39:00.90\00:39:02.27 no more these kinds of things. 00:39:02.30\00:39:03.64 They cut that right away. 00:39:03.67\00:39:05.01 And of course in New York the industry is such that, 00:39:05.04\00:39:07.04 okay, if you don't do it, Danny, I'll find somebody else. 00:39:07.08\00:39:09.34 I'm not gonna beg you, I'll just get the next person 00:39:09.38\00:39:10.75 because there's a line of people. 00:39:10.78\00:39:12.11 Sure. 00:39:12.15\00:39:13.48 So if you don't want to, we go to somebody else. 00:39:13.52\00:39:14.98 So they each took this immediate salary hit, 00:39:15.02\00:39:18.62 deep cut in their salary 00:39:18.65\00:39:19.99 because they chose not to do certain things 00:39:20.02\00:39:21.76 that they felt were against the Lord. 00:39:21.79\00:39:23.36 Then years later, 00:39:23.39\00:39:24.73 she's involved in a lucrative practice 00:39:24.76\00:39:27.23 that's her life. 00:39:27.26\00:39:28.60 She finds out that it's not of the Lord. 00:39:28.63\00:39:30.20 Again there is no dicker, there is no, 00:39:30.23\00:39:32.37 you know, so okay, Lord, I'm not doing anymore. 00:39:32.40\00:39:34.97 So now what do I do? 00:39:35.00\00:39:36.34 You know, because you lose A and you take my dime, 00:39:36.37\00:39:39.17 I need a quarter, 00:39:39.21\00:39:40.54 give me a quarter replaced by that kind of thing. 00:39:40.58\00:39:42.28 But at least two times I saw where she made a decision 00:39:42.31\00:39:45.61 for the kingdom of God 00:39:45.65\00:39:47.48 that resulted in great financial loss. 00:39:47.52\00:39:50.75 Not a couple of dollars but 50, 60, 70, 80 percent 00:39:50.79\00:39:53.69 of your salary that's considerable 00:39:53.72\00:39:56.29 but she did it and I've always and I've told her about that. 00:39:56.32\00:39:58.93 I salute her for that 00:39:58.96\00:40:00.30 that she put Christ first 00:40:00.33\00:40:01.86 and the Bible says, when you put Christ first, 00:40:01.90\00:40:03.33 you look out for Him, He is gonna look out for you. 00:40:03.37\00:40:05.80 And He did. 00:40:05.83\00:40:07.17 And praise the Lord, He did. 00:40:07.20\00:40:08.60 Every need was taken care of. 00:40:08.64\00:40:10.87 Everything that I needed, the Lord gave me. 00:40:10.91\00:40:15.91 And so, and He had laid on my heart to finish this book 00:40:15.94\00:40:22.32 and I did and it was the book 00:40:22.35\00:40:24.95 that I finished that got me out here for an interview. 00:40:24.99\00:40:27.92 Okay, tell us about it? 00:40:27.96\00:40:29.32 Well, Pastor CA, 00:40:29.36\00:40:32.16 he and I kept in touch over the years 00:40:32.19\00:40:34.30 and I told him that I've written this book on-- 00:40:34.33\00:40:38.07 it was called "Great Days: 00:40:38.10\00:40:39.97 Nine Principles To Revolutionize Your Life." 00:40:40.00\00:40:42.54 And so he invited me to come out here 00:40:42.57\00:40:47.18 to 3ABN to interview. 00:40:47.21\00:40:48.54 Now, this is when I had walked away 00:40:48.58\00:40:50.91 from my acupuncture practice 00:40:50.95\00:40:53.78 and I was looking to promote the book 00:40:53.82\00:40:55.48 as a source of income for me. 00:40:55.52\00:40:58.35 And so he invited me out here to share the book 00:40:58.39\00:41:03.26 and my testimony and all that. 00:41:03.29\00:41:04.93 Well, he wasn't able to interview me 00:41:04.96\00:41:07.30 but you were, Danny. 00:41:07.33\00:41:08.76 And so you interviewed me and we talked about, 00:41:08.80\00:41:13.03 you know, my testimony and all that 00:41:13.07\00:41:14.70 and then subsequently we began to talk about my burden 00:41:14.74\00:41:18.27 for the inner city 00:41:18.31\00:41:19.64 and you had already started. 00:41:19.67\00:41:22.28 At one point you had founded the inner city ministry, 00:41:22.31\00:41:28.68 on TV it was world of praise with Pastor Wintley Phipps 00:41:28.72\00:41:31.52 but his schedule and all that 00:41:31.55\00:41:33.22 it didn't allow for that to grow 00:41:33.25\00:41:35.79 and so it was just kind of lying dormant. 00:41:35.82\00:41:38.49 And you felt impressed 00:41:38.53\00:41:41.20 by the Lord that I should be the general manager 00:41:41.23\00:41:44.27 of Dare to Dream 00:41:44.30\00:41:45.63 and I can't tell you how grateful I am for. 00:41:45.67\00:41:50.71 Because this is, this being here, 00:41:50.74\00:41:53.58 this is why I'm on this planet to do Dare to Dream. 00:41:53.61\00:41:57.35 I know that. 00:41:57.38\00:41:58.71 I know that God created me to do this work here 00:41:58.75\00:42:03.22 and I'm so grateful. 00:42:03.25\00:42:05.85 So thank you. 00:42:05.89\00:42:07.22 Well, we are grateful that you are here. 00:42:07.26\00:42:09.62 I'm grateful that CA scheduled you 00:42:09.66\00:42:11.93 but what he told me to do which I rarely ever do. 00:42:11.96\00:42:14.86 He said, "Look, I was gonna take Yvonne out to eat lunch 00:42:14.90\00:42:18.07 and talk to her and show her around the ministry. 00:42:18.10\00:42:21.50 Can you do that for me because I'm not, 00:42:21.54\00:42:23.84 she just flown in by herself? 00:42:23.87\00:42:25.37 She is gonna be there a while, she needs to do." 00:42:25.41\00:42:28.38 We would have never got into talking 00:42:28.41\00:42:30.71 about the Dare to Dream 00:42:30.75\00:42:32.55 which was you actually come up with the name Dare to Dream 00:42:32.58\00:42:35.08 but our world of praise 00:42:35.12\00:42:36.62 we would not have probably even got into that 00:42:36.65\00:42:39.59 if I just interview her and say, thanks for coming. 00:42:39.62\00:42:41.69 It's nice to-- so he say, 00:42:41.72\00:42:43.73 would you show her around the ministry? 00:42:43.76\00:42:45.19 So I took you to different facilities. 00:42:45.23\00:42:47.36 We went to eat and then in the process 00:42:47.40\00:42:49.30 I saw where your heart was, where your heart is. 00:42:49.33\00:42:52.20 And so I said, 00:42:52.23\00:42:53.57 man, this is got to be a fit right here. 00:42:53.60\00:42:55.57 So we know the Lord dropped you here. 00:42:55.60\00:42:57.27 It wasn't by accident 00:42:57.31\00:42:59.11 but it was by divine providence. 00:42:59.14\00:43:00.48 Amen. 00:43:00.51\00:43:01.84 But now you've come here Dare to Dream started to grow 00:43:01.88\00:43:04.35 and you need some help 00:43:04.38\00:43:06.11 and how did Jason, 00:43:06.15\00:43:09.05 you all tell us how this happened? 00:43:09.08\00:43:11.22 Well, I was here as a volunteer first 00:43:11.25\00:43:16.09 for about six months 00:43:16.12\00:43:19.43 and then I began working 00:43:19.46\00:43:22.43 and the Lord had me in the chair 00:43:22.46\00:43:24.63 but the Lord was actually coordinating. 00:43:24.67\00:43:26.94 I mean, just brining the best people 00:43:26.97\00:43:29.54 and all of that. 00:43:29.57\00:43:30.91 But I really needed some help 00:43:30.94\00:43:32.27 because, you know, running a network by myself 00:43:32.31\00:43:35.34 and I also, you know, rebuked when I say that 00:43:35.38\00:43:38.15 because I wasn't running it by myself 00:43:38.18\00:43:39.51 because Lord was, you know, doing it. 00:43:39.55\00:43:41.18 But I was and I had all the resources here 00:43:41.22\00:43:44.35 of course on my disposal and that was a blessing 00:43:44.39\00:43:46.52 but I really needed some help. 00:43:46.55\00:43:49.49 And Jason, Jason had worked for me in Dallas 00:43:49.52\00:43:54.16 when I was practicing, 00:43:54.20\00:43:55.76 when I had my own practice in Dallas 00:43:55.80\00:43:58.37 with acupuncture and stuff. 00:43:58.40\00:43:59.73 Jason was my office manager. 00:43:59.77\00:44:01.37 So I knew his, I knew his work ethic. 00:44:01.40\00:44:04.41 I knew how he was with people. 00:44:04.44\00:44:06.61 How he gets along with people and people just love Jason. 00:44:06.64\00:44:09.44 He just most lovable guy. 00:44:09.48\00:44:11.25 So I thought-- 00:44:11.28\00:44:12.78 That's not a mom speaking. 00:44:12.81\00:44:14.22 You can pay for that. 00:44:14.25\00:44:15.58 That's not mom speaking thought. 00:44:15.62\00:44:17.05 I don't want one of those pensions. 00:44:17.09\00:44:20.46 And so he was at the time out of the church. 00:44:20.49\00:44:26.03 So I prayed and I've been praying for him anyway 00:44:26.06\00:44:29.90 and my older son and Make came here too 00:44:29.93\00:44:32.10 and I had not mentioned Mark 00:44:32.13\00:44:33.84 and I have to give my older son is short out 00:44:33.87\00:44:36.00 because I love him more. 00:44:36.04\00:44:37.37 Absolutely. Absolutely. 00:44:37.41\00:44:38.74 Mark came her too but not as my assistant 00:44:38.77\00:44:41.64 but Jason came to a day of prayer 00:44:41.68\00:44:44.45 and I asked him would he consider coming 00:44:44.48\00:44:48.08 and being my assistant? 00:44:48.12\00:44:49.45 And you were in the managing and food industry managing 00:44:49.48\00:44:52.15 a restaurant that seemed likely. 00:44:52.19\00:44:54.32 We don't have time to get into that story. 00:44:54.36\00:44:56.09 We'll have to do yours on another one 00:44:56.12\00:44:58.09 but eventually you said yes to the Lord 00:44:58.13\00:45:01.23 and you came and of course now got as a great team 00:45:01.26\00:45:04.03 working together with Dare to Dream. 00:45:04.07\00:45:05.73 What we want to do, 00:45:05.77\00:45:07.10 I promised the folks in the beginning 00:45:07.14\00:45:09.27 we would play a song that you've done. 00:45:09.30\00:45:11.81 The song that you say is your favorite song 00:45:11.84\00:45:15.14 that you ever sung and it's called "Just in Time." 00:45:15.18\00:45:19.31 So we know that you will be blessed. 00:45:19.35\00:45:21.18 I'm blessed every time I hear her sing it 00:45:21.22\00:45:23.49 and see the pictures 00:45:23.52\00:45:24.85 that the crew kind of put together 00:45:24.89\00:45:26.32 to give us a picture 00:45:26.35\00:45:27.69 of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:45:27.72\00:45:29.76 So this Yvonne Lewis "Just in Time." 00:45:29.79\00:45:32.09 There were famines 00:45:51.51\00:45:55.08 and earthquakes 00:45:55.12\00:45:57.62 With trouble all around 00:45:57.65\00:46:02.86 The heavens did shake 00:46:02.89\00:46:07.60 No peace could be found 00:46:07.63\00:46:12.90 There were wars and strife 00:46:12.93\00:46:17.67 On every hand 00:46:17.71\00:46:23.01 It seemed God had lost 00:46:23.04\00:46:27.25 With no hope 00:46:27.28\00:46:30.02 for man 00:46:30.05\00:46:36.26 "Where is your God?" 00:46:36.29\00:46:38.49 the demons cried 00:46:38.53\00:46:40.80 "He's left you here to die 00:46:40.83\00:46:46.07 Your truth has failed 00:46:46.10\00:46:50.87 It's all been a lie" 00:46:50.91\00:46:55.94 But a shout from Heaven 00:46:55.98\00:47:00.82 Can now be heard 00:47:00.85\00:47:06.29 It came from God 00:47:06.32\00:47:10.96 The Living 00:47:10.99\00:47:14.30 Word 00:47:14.33\00:47:19.03 Then just in time, 00:47:19.07\00:47:24.57 the Savior came 00:47:24.61\00:47:28.81 Just in time, 00:47:28.84\00:47:32.58 He called my name 00:47:32.61\00:47:36.42 Salvation's plan 00:47:36.45\00:47:40.39 for fallen man 00:47:40.42\00:47:45.46 Redemption 00:47:45.49\00:47:46.96 by the Great 00:47:47.00\00:47:49.80 I AM 00:47:49.83\00:47:55.24 "Soon there appears in the east a small black cloud, 00:47:55.27\00:47:58.87 half the size of a man's hand. 00:47:58.91\00:48:01.64 It is the cloud which surrounds the Savior 00:48:01.68\00:48:04.25 and which seems in the distance to be shrouded in darkness. 00:48:04.28\00:48:08.78 The people of God 00:48:08.82\00:48:10.15 know this to be the sign of the Son of Man. 00:48:10.19\00:48:13.66 In solemn silence, 00:48:13.69\00:48:15.02 they gaze upon it as it draws nearer the earth, 00:48:15.06\00:48:18.29 becoming lighter and more glorious, 00:48:18.33\00:48:20.76 until it is a great white cloud, 00:48:20.80\00:48:23.30 its base a glory like consuming fire, 00:48:23.33\00:48:26.40 and above it the rainbow of the covenant. 00:48:26.43\00:48:29.50 Jesus rides forth as a mighty conqueror. 00:48:29.54\00:48:32.81 Not now a 'man of sorrows,' 00:48:32.84\00:48:34.71 to drink the bitter cup of shame and woe, 00:48:34.74\00:48:37.41 He comes, victor in heaven and earth, 00:48:37.45\00:48:40.12 to judge the living and the dead. 00:48:40.15\00:48:42.75 With anthems of celestial melody 00:48:42.78\00:48:45.39 the holy angels, a vast, unnumbered throng, 00:48:45.42\00:48:48.76 attend Him on His way. 00:48:48.79\00:48:50.93 The firmament seems filled with radiant forms-- 00:48:50.96\00:48:54.46 'ten thousand times ten thousand, 00:48:54.50\00:48:57.17 and thousands of thousands.' 00:48:57.20\00:48:59.53 No human pen can portray the scene, 00:48:59.57\00:49:02.37 no mortal mind is adequate to conceive its splendor. 00:49:02.40\00:49:06.61 'His glory covered the heavens, 00:49:06.64\00:49:09.34 and the earth was full of his praise. 00:49:09.38\00:49:12.25 And his brightness was like the light.' 00:49:12.28\00:49:15.05 As the living cloud comes still nearer, 00:49:15.08\00:49:17.65 every eye beholds the Prince of life. 00:49:17.69\00:49:20.79 No crown of thorns now mars that sacred head, 00:49:20.82\00:49:24.39 but a diadem of glory rests on His holy brow. 00:49:24.43\00:49:28.30 His countenance outshines the dazzling brightness 00:49:28.33\00:49:32.13 of the noonday sun. 00:49:32.17\00:49:33.74 'And on His robe 00:49:33.77\00:49:35.37 and on His thigh a name written, 00:49:35.40\00:49:37.87 King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.' 00:49:37.91\00:49:42.64 Then just in time, 00:49:42.68\00:49:48.38 the Savior came 00:49:48.42\00:49:52.75 Just in time, 00:49:52.79\00:49:56.19 He called my name
