That's where it came from. 00:10:00.73\00:10:03.16 I thought you were an Italian. 00:10:03.20\00:10:04.57 Oh, really. 00:10:04.60\00:10:05.93 Yeah. Like Morikone. 00:10:05.97\00:10:07.30 Morikone it sounded... 00:10:07.34\00:10:08.67 So my name is so hard to spell, 00:10:08.70\00:10:10.04 the last name that, when I was small, 00:10:10.07\00:10:11.67 I would always hear my parents on the phone, say, 00:10:11.71\00:10:13.58 "so my name is Daniel, my last name is Morikone." 00:10:13.61\00:10:18.35 So as a little kid, 00:10:18.38\00:10:19.71 I didn't quite understand all letters and stuff, 00:10:19.75\00:10:21.08 so one day I wrote down "M-O-R-I-K-O-N-E" 00:10:21.12\00:10:24.89 and I said, "Mom." I said, "What is that spell?" 00:10:24.92\00:10:27.52 She said, "Son, that's your last name." 00:10:27.56\00:10:30.59 So that was my first learning lesson 00:10:30.63\00:10:32.26 as my last name, but, 00:10:32.29\00:10:33.80 yeah, really my parents 00:10:33.83\00:10:35.16 are from the West Coast from California. 00:10:35.20\00:10:37.30 My dad is a registered nurse 00:10:37.33\00:10:38.93 and but I call myself from West Virginia. 00:10:38.97\00:10:41.44 So you say what took people from California 00:10:41.47\00:10:43.51 to West Virginia 00:10:43.54\00:10:44.87 You know Hillbillies, you know, great folk. 00:10:44.91\00:10:47.41 But my dad and mom had a great passion 00:10:47.44\00:10:49.34 for the people of Appalachia 00:10:49.38\00:10:50.98 and so, my dad had a great calling 00:10:51.01\00:10:52.65 for the medical field. 00:10:52.68\00:10:54.02 He believes that 00:10:54.05\00:10:55.38 God can use the medical field 00:10:55.42\00:10:56.75 as the right arm of the message, 00:10:56.79\00:10:58.12 you know, go and help people's needs. 00:10:58.15\00:10:59.49 So my parents went to West Virginia, Kentucky, 00:10:59.52\00:11:02.19 and that's where they still are. 00:11:02.22\00:11:03.69 My dad has since became a pastor, 00:11:03.73\00:11:05.73 he's an ordained pastor 00:11:05.76\00:11:07.10 in the West Virginia Conference. 00:11:07.13\00:11:08.46 Okay. Wow. 00:11:08.50\00:11:09.83 But I consider myself growing up in West Virginia, 00:11:09.86\00:11:11.20 we grew up in a holler. 00:11:11.23\00:11:12.57 What we call holler? Yeah. 00:11:12.60\00:11:13.94 There is, you know mountains, 00:11:13.97\00:11:15.30 and creeks and grew up way back in the hills 00:11:15.34\00:11:18.77 and a great people. 00:11:18.81\00:11:20.24 So, you grew up in a home that was focused on service... 00:11:20.28\00:11:23.24 Absolutely. 00:11:23.28\00:11:24.61 And look at how Greg is... 00:11:24.65\00:11:25.98 Yeah. 00:11:26.01\00:11:27.35 I mean you can see that whole value system 00:11:27.38\00:11:30.19 has been inculcated and incorporated... 00:11:30.22\00:11:32.55 They're very much, my parents are very spiritual, 00:11:32.59\00:11:34.09 I grew up with... 00:11:34.12\00:11:35.46 you know just raised by great parents. 00:11:35.49\00:11:36.96 Wow. 00:11:36.99\00:11:38.33 And the neat thing is, is that my dad, 00:11:38.36\00:11:39.69 because he was half and half. 00:11:39.73\00:11:41.86 I'm just saying in the late '70s early '80s 00:11:41.90\00:11:44.33 is very prejudice, 00:11:44.37\00:11:45.70 there in, you know, the hollers of West Virginia... 00:11:45.73\00:11:49.04 The Appalachia. 00:11:49.07\00:11:51.07 But, so my dad has some actually prejudice 00:11:51.11\00:11:53.24 against him coming in there, 00:11:53.27\00:11:54.88 but because he was in health field nurse, 00:11:54.91\00:11:57.85 way back in these hollers, 00:11:57.88\00:11:59.58 that there was the old party line, 00:11:59.61\00:12:00.95 dial a road re-phone. 00:12:00.98\00:12:02.32 Yes. 00:12:02.35\00:12:03.69 So any time our phone would ring, 00:12:03.72\00:12:05.05 everyone would pick up, because they wanted to know 00:12:05.09\00:12:06.42 who is having a medical emergency. 00:12:06.45\00:12:07.79 And so, they would call my dad and say, "Hey Doc" 00:12:07.82\00:12:10.33 even though he wasn't a doctor 00:12:10.36\00:12:12.03 and say, "Can you come out and help us." 00:12:12.06\00:12:13.70 So as a kid my sister and I had wonderful opportunities 00:12:13.73\00:12:16.83 of going out in a little Toyota jeep. 00:12:16.87\00:12:19.57 Back through... 00:12:19.60\00:12:20.94 I mean creeks, unbelievable, up mountains, 00:12:20.97\00:12:22.90 back in these way backwoods. 00:12:22.94\00:12:25.34 And my dad would minister to their physical need, 00:12:25.37\00:12:27.81 and then usually my sister and I 00:12:27.84\00:12:29.18 would stand around the person's bed, 00:12:29.21\00:12:30.65 and we would sing like "Jesus loves me" 00:12:30.68\00:12:32.95 things like that. 00:12:32.98\00:12:34.32 So, great memories of growing up 00:12:34.35\00:12:36.38 service like you say, 00:12:36.42\00:12:37.75 but being able to sing to the people in need, 00:12:37.79\00:12:40.56 just a wonderful experience there. 00:12:40.59\00:12:42.22 Now we're finding out Greg sing, 00:12:42.26\00:12:44.66 and as I carried over to it though. 00:12:44.69\00:12:46.46 No, he does sing, he sings, I've heard him, he sings well. 00:12:46.49\00:12:49.10 Really, Greg, you've been holding out on us. 00:12:49.13\00:12:51.57 Well, no, I just maybe sing in the shower. 00:12:51.60\00:12:53.97 No, no, no, he sings. 00:12:54.00\00:12:55.34 I have heard him sing with the group and quartet 00:12:55.37\00:12:56.84 and he can sing, he's got a nice voice. 00:12:56.87\00:12:58.21 Okay. 00:12:58.24\00:12:59.57 Not professional singer, but anyway 00:12:59.61\00:13:00.94 it's a way to praise the Lord. 00:13:00.98\00:13:02.44 So, you know, one thing you mentioned about, 00:13:02.48\00:13:04.08 maybe not knowing, I, as growing up, 00:13:04.11\00:13:06.35 there's not much opportunity to earn side income, 00:13:06.38\00:13:09.52 you know there back in the hills and hollers. 00:13:09.55\00:13:10.95 So I used to dig ginseng. 00:13:10.99\00:13:12.72 Have you heard about ginseng? 00:13:12.75\00:13:14.09 Yeah, sure. Oh, yeah. 00:13:14.12\00:13:15.46 So I would go back, you could have ginseng season, 00:13:15.49\00:13:16.83 I'd go back in the hills. 00:13:16.86\00:13:18.19 I like to go back in the hills and dig ginseng, 00:13:18.23\00:13:20.36 then I would sell it, that's how I earned my spare money. 00:13:20.40\00:13:24.03 But it was hard work, 00:13:24.07\00:13:25.40 because my dad would go out and do the nursing of course, 00:13:25.43\00:13:27.14 then I would at home my sister and I would raise the garden, 00:13:27.17\00:13:30.11 and weed the long rosy green beans, 00:13:30.14\00:13:33.17 and tomatoes and all of that. 00:13:33.21\00:13:35.08 So, he kept you busy working. Absolutely. 00:13:35.11\00:13:37.41 Oh, yeah, my dad believed in work, 00:13:37.45\00:13:39.21 you know, I appreciate my father a lot, 00:13:39.25\00:13:40.58 because he very much involved myself and my sister in work. 00:13:40.62\00:13:44.12 So he would work with us, 00:13:44.15\00:13:45.85 and so we built our own home there. 00:13:45.89\00:13:48.59 My dad and mom didn't want to go into debts, 00:13:48.62\00:13:50.49 so we built the home as they could. 00:13:50.53\00:13:52.56 And then we finished that so, he very much had me involved, 00:13:52.59\00:13:55.86 I remember hammering nails as a small kid, 00:13:55.90\00:13:58.50 and very much involved with my dad. 00:13:58.53\00:14:00.14 I was going to tell you, Greg's also a builder, 00:14:00.17\00:14:01.87 he's build his own place... 00:14:01.90\00:14:03.67 With help. Yeah. 00:14:03.71\00:14:05.11 Well so, that way we all do but, 00:14:05.14\00:14:07.21 he's helped me on mine, 00:14:07.24\00:14:08.64 when I was building 00:14:08.68\00:14:10.68 and he knows a lot about construction so, 00:14:10.71\00:14:13.28 very well rounded, knows a bit, 00:14:13.31\00:14:15.32 you know, gardening and what have you, 00:14:15.35\00:14:17.59 and so you-- 00:14:17.62\00:14:19.55 I want to ask you about spiritually, 00:14:19.59\00:14:22.29 you know, lost of us are raised in a Christian home, 00:14:22.32\00:14:25.93 but there comes a time you get 12, 13, 14, 15, 00:14:25.96\00:14:29.46 then sometimes you decide, you know what? 00:14:29.50\00:14:31.33 This is not for me. 00:14:31.37\00:14:32.83 And kids go off. 00:14:32.87\00:14:34.20 Did that ever happen to you? Did you go to church school? 00:14:34.24\00:14:36.44 Did your home school? 00:14:36.47\00:14:38.21 Tell me little bit about your education? 00:14:38.24\00:14:39.97 Education we were home schooled. 00:14:40.01\00:14:41.58 We live so far from church, 00:14:41.61\00:14:43.11 you know, West Virginia has a lot of corners like this, 00:14:43.14\00:14:45.25 and every Sabbath I would get car sick, 00:14:45.28\00:14:47.02 because it was so far to go, 00:14:47.05\00:14:48.52 it took about an hour and 15 minutes one way 00:14:48.55\00:14:50.79 on all these curvy back road, 00:14:50.82\00:14:52.15 so we couldn't go to the church school, 00:14:52.19\00:14:53.52 they had a little church school there. 00:14:53.56\00:14:54.89 Couldn't do that, so we were home schooled. 00:14:54.92\00:14:56.26 But we still got out, 00:14:56.29\00:14:57.63 you know, as we went to the church and stuff. 00:14:57.66\00:15:00.03 But, spiritually yeah, I grew up having, 00:15:00.06\00:15:02.90 you know, my own personal devotions, 00:15:02.93\00:15:04.63 you know, just because that's 00:15:04.67\00:15:06.00 kind of what you're supposed to do. 00:15:06.03\00:15:07.37 You know, mom and dad says, 00:15:07.40\00:15:08.74 you're supposed to have your worship. 00:15:08.77\00:15:10.11 So I would do that, of course we had family worship. 00:15:10.14\00:15:11.81 It wasn't until about probably 11 or 12, 00:15:11.84\00:15:15.51 that I decided to give my heart to God 00:15:15.54\00:15:17.38 and get baptized, 00:15:17.41\00:15:19.21 which was a good decision, I don't regret that at all. 00:15:19.25\00:15:21.38 But it wasn't actually until college, 00:15:21.42\00:15:23.05 that I really had that maybe experience 00:15:23.08\00:15:25.85 with God words becomes man. 00:15:25.89\00:15:27.26 I really... 00:15:27.29\00:15:28.62 God is who I need to hang on to. 00:15:28.66\00:15:29.99 Okay. 00:15:30.03\00:15:31.36 And not mom or dad or their religion, 00:15:31.39\00:15:33.36 but it's something that I need God for myself. 00:15:33.40\00:15:35.46 Okay. So it wasn't until college. 00:15:35.50\00:15:37.37 And where did you go to college? 00:15:37.40\00:15:39.17 I went to Hartland College 00:15:39.20\00:15:40.54 actually in Virginia is where I went. 00:15:40.57\00:15:42.64 And that's actually where I met my wonderful wife now. 00:15:42.67\00:15:45.74 Okay. 00:15:45.77\00:15:47.41 But that's where I went to college, so I went... 00:15:47.44\00:15:49.48 I actually did colporteuring or canvassing 00:15:49.51\00:15:51.51 or what we call LE work, 00:15:51.55\00:15:52.88 where you sell religious books during summer, 00:15:52.91\00:15:54.95 so just before I went to college, 00:15:54.98\00:15:57.02 I sold books door to door. Yeah. 00:15:57.05\00:15:59.25 And that was a... 00:15:59.29\00:16:00.72 yeah. 00:16:00.76\00:16:02.09 So you didn't? 00:16:02.12\00:16:03.46 I enjoyed the experience, 00:16:03.49\00:16:04.83 but boy that was something else, 00:16:04.86\00:16:06.19 because I don't really like going to somebody's door 00:16:06.23\00:16:07.56 and knocking on the door, trying to sell books. 00:16:07.60\00:16:10.37 But it was a great experience too, 00:16:10.40\00:16:11.73 and maybe that's what led into my experience 00:16:11.77\00:16:13.20 at college with God, 00:16:13.23\00:16:14.57 because when you do the selling, 00:16:14.60\00:16:16.34 you know, Great Controversy, 00:16:16.37\00:16:17.71 Steps to Christ to somebody's door, 00:16:17.74\00:16:19.54 you got to hang on to God for strength. 00:16:19.57\00:16:21.08 You know, okay, I don't want to do this, I'm scared. 00:16:21.11\00:16:23.91 So did something happen at college 00:16:23.95\00:16:26.45 that actually was pivotal for you? 00:16:26.48\00:16:29.88 That's a great question. 00:16:29.92\00:16:32.39 You know, lot of times in this adjusting life in general, 00:16:32.42\00:16:34.92 we tend to hold people up, 00:16:34.96\00:16:36.56 maybe on a pedestal, you look at people, 00:16:36.59\00:16:38.19 you put a lot of trust in them. 00:16:38.23\00:16:39.73 And at that time at school, I had some people around me, 00:16:39.76\00:16:43.77 I mean not school but elsewhere that had sort of failed me, 00:16:43.80\00:16:46.77 if you want to say that. 00:16:46.80\00:16:48.14 So you start to become discouraged. 00:16:48.17\00:16:49.74 And I called my dad one time 00:16:49.77\00:16:51.11 and that's what I was like, "You know what dad? 00:16:51.14\00:16:52.47 I'm discouraged." 00:16:52.51\00:16:53.84 These people who I thought 00:16:53.88\00:16:55.21 has such and such relationship with God, 00:16:55.24\00:16:56.68 when I see the other side they don't. 00:16:56.71\00:16:58.88 And I don't know that really, 00:16:58.91\00:17:00.35 I don't know what I think of this religious thing. 00:17:00.38\00:17:02.15 And my dad said, "Son" 00:17:02.18\00:17:03.79 he said, I want to tell you something, 00:17:03.82\00:17:05.39 "I have failed you, and I'm your dad. 00:17:05.42\00:17:07.86 Don't look to people, 00:17:07.89\00:17:09.22 don't look at the people at school, your friends, 00:17:09.26\00:17:11.29 he said look to Jesus Christ 00:17:11.33\00:17:12.66 because he will never fail you." 00:17:12.69\00:17:14.13 So he said, "Son, if you keep Jesus Christ 00:17:14.16\00:17:15.86 number one in your life." 00:17:15.90\00:17:17.50 He said, "Then you can rise above 00:17:17.53\00:17:19.47 issues and things that are going on around you, 00:17:19.50\00:17:21.67 and not become discouraged 00:17:21.70\00:17:23.30 and just want to throw religion out the window, 00:17:23.34\00:17:25.67 and go some other direction, he said look to Jesus." 00:17:25.71\00:17:27.78 So, yeah, that was the experience. 00:17:27.81\00:17:29.21 You start to become discouraged by looking at people, 00:17:29.24\00:17:31.21 so he was trying to point me from people to God. 00:17:31.25\00:17:34.02 Okay. 00:17:34.05\00:17:35.38 So you never went out to Doug Batchelor, 00:17:35.42\00:17:37.45 that's when he had hair, grew his hair long 00:17:37.49\00:17:39.25 and smoke and drink 00:17:39.29\00:17:40.86 and did all that, lived in a cave. 00:17:40.89\00:17:42.39 You don't have any story like that, 00:17:42.42\00:17:44.03 it wasn't like David Asscherick 00:17:44.06\00:17:47.66 where you had the punk rock hairstyles 00:17:47.70\00:17:50.10 and skateboarders like some of these other guys. 00:17:50.13\00:17:52.60 So you never really went out? 00:17:52.63\00:17:54.04 and did all those kind of things 00:17:54.07\00:17:56.27 I had issues, you know, obviously with my parents some, 00:17:56.30\00:17:58.34 you know, I'm thinking, well, I don't know about my parents, 00:17:58.37\00:17:59.77 they don't know anything, 00:17:59.81\00:18:01.14 you know, those are about teenagers. 00:18:01.18\00:18:02.51 By the time I got to college, 00:18:02.54\00:18:03.88 I was obviously calling my dad back, saying, 00:18:03.91\00:18:05.25 "Give me some health truth." 00:18:05.28\00:18:07.65 But yeah, really, no not going off 00:18:07.68\00:18:09.78 and drinking and doing punk rock stuff, no. 00:18:09.82\00:18:11.75 Okay. 00:18:11.79\00:18:13.12 Did you ever think that you wanted to be a preacher 00:18:13.15\00:18:14.69 or you went to college, what were you looking to do? 00:18:14.72\00:18:16.99 What did you want to do in life? 00:18:17.03\00:18:19.53 Yeah, you know, I always enjoyed being outside 00:18:19.56\00:18:21.86 but I felt that, 00:18:21.90\00:18:23.87 you know, God wanted me to do something else. 00:18:23.90\00:18:25.63 You know, I like gardening, I want to be a farmer. 00:18:25.67\00:18:28.10 But my grandpa had always told me was 00:18:28.14\00:18:30.61 "You can't really be a farmer, 00:18:30.64\00:18:31.97 you can do that maybe as a side thing, 00:18:32.01\00:18:33.61 you know, bringing your garden and stuff like that." 00:18:33.64\00:18:35.81 But when I went to college, 00:18:35.84\00:18:37.18 I took, what do you call then desktop publishing? 00:18:37.21\00:18:39.65 Okay, yeah. Wow. 00:18:39.68\00:18:41.02 So, back then it was a more page maker, 00:18:41.05\00:18:42.88 we do different programs now in design, 00:18:42.92\00:18:44.55 but it was designing stuff on the screen, 00:18:44.59\00:18:46.22 you know, like they do like now for world magazine stuff 00:18:46.25\00:18:48.32 that the world does. 00:18:48.36\00:18:49.69 Yeah, sure. Okay. 00:18:49.72\00:18:51.06 But I didn't really, I mean I liked it, 00:18:51.09\00:18:52.43 but I really was interested in media. 00:18:52.46\00:18:54.13 So there at school, they didn't have that as a degree, 00:18:54.16\00:18:56.53 but they had, 00:18:56.56\00:18:58.23 they would do their convocations or camp meetings. 00:18:58.27\00:19:00.47 And they had cameras and audio, 00:19:00.50\00:19:02.20 so I was always involved with that. 00:19:02.24\00:19:04.11 When my sister and I were young, 00:19:04.14\00:19:05.47 we had a little VHS camcorder, 00:19:05.51\00:19:07.58 you know, big thing you can hold on your shoulders. 00:19:07.61\00:19:08.94 Oh, yeah. 00:19:08.98\00:19:10.31 So my sister and I would actually play around 00:19:10.35\00:19:11.68 and do fake news broadcast. 00:19:11.71\00:19:14.15 We would edit with this one machine in a VCR, 00:19:14.18\00:19:16.48 so we would, you know, okay, stand over by this thing, 00:19:16.52\00:19:19.12 and then I was the weatherman and I was over here. 00:19:19.15\00:19:21.02 Okay. 00:19:21.06\00:19:22.39 Then we would be an interview and interviewee, 00:19:22.42\00:19:24.03 and that's how we played around with the media stuff back then, 00:19:24.06\00:19:27.00 but I never imagined or dreamed of coming to 3ABN. 00:19:27.03\00:19:29.76 Yeah. 00:19:29.80\00:19:31.13 It's interesting how God leads though. 00:19:31.17\00:19:32.50 Isn't it? It really is. 00:19:32.53\00:19:34.27 He put that interest in your heart years ago, 00:19:34.30\00:19:37.64 and you had no idea that you're coming here. 00:19:37.67\00:19:39.67 My mom and dad, actually when I was a teenager 00:19:39.71\00:19:42.08 before college took me here to 3ABN just on the tour. 00:19:42.11\00:19:45.51 And the person who gave the tour was Bobby Davis. 00:19:45.55\00:19:47.48 Okay, sure. 00:19:47.52\00:19:48.85 For I don't know, 20 some years. 00:19:48.88\00:19:50.22 Yeah. 00:19:50.25\00:19:51.59 And he gave us a tour of 3ABN. 00:19:51.62\00:19:52.95 I remember that made a big impact on my life 00:19:52.99\00:19:54.32 that this is a very powerful, it's a big ministry. 00:19:54.36\00:19:56.73 This building was new then, they were just been built. 00:19:56.76\00:19:59.46 It was in the mid '90s. Yeah, yes. 00:19:59.49\00:20:01.23 So, yeah, I was very impressed, 00:20:01.26\00:20:03.77 but again I never thought that God would bring me here 00:20:03.80\00:20:05.77 to 3ABN. 00:20:05.80\00:20:07.14 How did you get that call 00:20:07.17\00:20:08.94 or how did you make that call to come here? 00:20:08.97\00:20:11.37 So when I was in college, 00:20:11.41\00:20:12.84 if you do an accelerated a program at Harland College, 00:20:12.87\00:20:14.88 you could actually do three years, plus one. 00:20:14.91\00:20:16.98 With the plus one was internship 00:20:17.01\00:20:18.88 and so, I did the three years of academic 00:20:18.91\00:20:21.32 and the third, fourth year, 00:20:21.35\00:20:23.92 you have to send out to the different ministries, 00:20:23.95\00:20:26.02 3ABN being one of them, 00:20:26.05\00:20:27.39 I chose to contact 3ABN and say, 00:20:27.42\00:20:29.96 "Hey, will you accept me, on a internship," 00:20:29.99\00:20:32.36 and I didn't hear anything, didn't hear anything, 00:20:32.39\00:20:35.86 didn't hear anything. 00:20:35.90\00:20:37.23 Am I bad? 00:20:37.27\00:20:39.33 Sorry, no, it wasn't-- 00:20:39.37\00:20:40.70 Sorry, I'm bad. Right. 00:23:44.09\00:23:45.42 But I thought, all this is going to help me, 00:23:45.45\00:23:46.79 so I remember I had my NIV children's Bible, 00:23:46.82\00:23:49.79 you know, the one with all the pictures, 00:23:49.82\00:23:52.39 and I read it and I had my little china markers 00:23:52.43\00:23:54.80 and I would mark the promises in a certain color 00:23:54.83\00:23:57.50 and the other things in another color. 00:23:57.53\00:23:59.53 So looking back, 00:23:59.57\00:24:00.94 I think I was always sensitive toward God. 00:24:00.97\00:24:03.00 You know, I wanted to follow Him. 00:24:03.04\00:24:05.74 As a child though, I always, 00:24:05.77\00:24:09.24 I thought I could never measure up. 00:24:09.28\00:24:11.11 I was raised in a good home, 00:24:11.15\00:24:13.35 but my parents to be honest with you, 00:24:13.38\00:24:15.15 it was a legalistic home. 00:24:15.18\00:24:16.52 Okay. 00:24:16.55\00:24:17.89 And so, I always thought, 00:24:17.92\00:24:19.49 okay, you have to be perfect, you have to be good. 00:24:19.52\00:24:22.76 I'm supposed to reach the standard, 00:24:22.79\00:24:24.33 I see in the Bible, 00:24:24.36\00:24:25.69 but I can't do it. 00:24:25.73\00:24:27.06 You know, and I tried and I failed 00:24:27.10\00:24:29.93 and I tried and I failed. 00:24:29.96\00:24:32.83 And then about the time I was 13 and half, 00:24:32.87\00:24:35.37 I started looking around men, I thought, 00:24:35.40\00:24:38.47 I don't see other people really succeeding either. 00:24:38.51\00:24:41.08 Now that, they probably were succeeding, 00:24:41.11\00:24:43.35 I'm just saying, it's my own teenage, 00:24:43.38\00:24:45.65 my perspective of things. 00:24:45.68\00:24:48.45 And so I looked at it and I thought, 00:24:48.48\00:24:50.05 wow, Christianity doesn't work. 00:24:50.09\00:24:52.92 I've tried, I didn't know about grace, 00:24:52.95\00:24:55.46 I didn't know about Jesus, 00:24:55.49\00:24:57.09 I didn't know that He is the one who works in us. 00:24:57.13\00:25:00.40 You know both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 00:25:00.43\00:25:02.86 And I didn't know any of that and so, 00:25:02.90\00:25:05.20 when I was 13 and half, 00:25:05.23\00:25:06.57 I used to keep journals and I wrote in my journal, 00:25:06.60\00:25:09.20 God, you don't work. Wow. 00:25:09.24\00:25:11.94 Christianity is fake. 00:25:11.97\00:25:15.08 Everything I've seen in the Bible, 00:25:15.11\00:25:16.81 I haven't seen walked out, 00:25:16.85\00:25:18.98 so God I'm walking away, 00:25:19.01\00:25:22.68 so I made that choice 00:25:22.72\00:25:25.12 to leave God and leave religion. 00:25:25.15\00:25:28.52 I was... 00:25:28.56\00:25:29.89 How did that play out when you made that choice? 00:25:29.92\00:25:32.63 What did you do living in a legalistic home? 00:25:32.66\00:25:34.76 How did you express that? 00:25:34.80\00:25:39.17 I got mad at my mom a lot. 00:25:39.20\00:25:40.70 Okay. Yeah, little bit of rebellion. 00:25:40.74\00:25:42.90 Lot of rebellion. Lot of rebellion. 00:25:42.94\00:25:44.61 Lot of rebellion, lot of anger, 00:25:44.64\00:25:47.64 lot of acting out, not so much as in externally 00:25:47.68\00:25:52.41 but internally, if that makes sense. 00:25:52.45\00:25:55.95 But, yeah, there was a lot of rebellion. 00:25:55.98\00:25:57.95 And my poor parents, you know, I mean, and then, 00:25:57.99\00:26:02.02 this is, that was about six months, 00:26:02.06\00:26:04.03 and then about six months later, 00:26:04.06\00:26:06.43 two things happened that changed my perspective. 00:26:06.46\00:26:09.66 One was my mom began to change. 00:26:09.70\00:26:12.80 Now my mom's open about this, 00:26:12.83\00:26:14.54 it's not like I'm sharing something that's private, okay. 00:26:14.57\00:26:16.91 Yeah. 00:26:16.94\00:26:18.27 But my mom always struggled with anger 00:26:18.31\00:26:19.77 when I was little growing up, 00:26:19.81\00:26:21.64 and she began to change, 00:26:21.68\00:26:24.31 and the things that I did that used to bug her 00:26:24.35\00:26:27.42 or make her mad or she'd say, Jill stop that. 00:26:27.45\00:26:30.79 She quit and I think what happened, right. 00:26:30.82\00:26:34.19 She is different, what happened? 00:26:34.22\00:26:36.83 And so I began to push her buttons 00:26:36.86\00:26:38.93 because I thought is this for real. 00:26:38.96\00:26:40.30 So I knew everything that would make her irritated, 00:26:40.33\00:26:42.90 so I did that. 00:26:42.93\00:26:45.67 I was like okay, well, this makes her mad, 00:26:45.70\00:26:47.70 I'll do this. 00:26:47.74\00:26:49.07 This makes her upset, I'll do this over here. 00:26:49.10\00:26:51.97 But she didn't get mad. 00:26:52.01\00:26:53.68 And for two weeks this went on 00:26:53.71\00:26:55.24 and I remember laying awake at night and thinking, 00:26:55.28\00:26:56.81 what's different about my mom? 00:26:56.85\00:26:58.35 But I was like, I don't want to know, you know. 00:26:58.38\00:27:00.42 So after two weeks, I finally thought, 00:27:00.45\00:27:02.12 okay, I can't stand it anymore, I need to ask, 00:27:02.15\00:27:04.35 so she was in the kitchen 00:27:04.39\00:27:06.52 and I went down the stairs and I said mom, 00:27:06.55\00:27:09.12 "What's different? 00:27:09.16\00:27:10.49 What's different about you? 00:27:10.53\00:27:11.86 You're happy all the time. 00:27:11.89\00:27:13.23 You don't get mad anymore." 00:27:13.26\00:27:14.60 And she was like, "Jill, am I really that different." 00:27:14.63\00:27:17.43 And that's what God does. 00:27:17.47\00:27:18.80 You know, when He changes us inside, 00:27:18.83\00:27:20.64 we don't always know the difference 00:27:20.67\00:27:22.24 but other people always see, what took place. 00:27:22.27\00:27:25.47 And she said, "Am I really that different." 00:27:25.51\00:27:26.98 And I said, "You are." 00:27:27.01\00:27:28.58 And she said, "The difference is Jesus. 00:27:28.61\00:27:31.41 I met Jesus." 00:27:31.45\00:27:33.21 And she said, 00:27:33.25\00:27:34.78 "I can't tell you what a difference 00:27:34.82\00:27:36.45 He's made in my life." 00:27:36.48\00:27:37.82 And I thought, I've seen that difference, 00:27:37.85\00:27:39.89 you don't have to tell me. 00:27:39.92\00:27:41.26 I've seen it walked out. 00:27:41.29\00:27:42.62 And then right about that time, 00:27:42.66\00:27:43.99 I came across the Bible verse in Psalm 34 00:27:44.03\00:27:46.96 it says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good." 00:27:47.00\00:27:50.70 "Blessed is the man or woman who trust in him." 00:27:50.73\00:27:53.30 And so, I went to God and I said, 00:27:53.34\00:27:55.77 "I've seen now that Christianity works, 00:27:55.80\00:27:57.97 I've seen that you're real. 00:27:58.01\00:27:59.87 I've seen that, 00:27:59.91\00:28:01.24 the principles in the Bible can be walked out in real life, 00:28:01.28\00:28:05.08 so God I'll give you another chance." 00:28:05.11\00:28:07.98 Isn't that weird, I mean, me talking to God like that, 00:28:08.02\00:28:11.62 but His shoulders are big, 00:28:11.65\00:28:13.09 you know, He can take our stuff, 00:28:13.12\00:28:14.99 He can take it, if we are mad or for this or that, 00:28:15.02\00:28:17.16 and so I said God, 00:28:17.19\00:28:18.53 I'll give you two weeks to reveal yourself to me. 00:28:18.56\00:28:22.16 I want to taste and see and show me if you're real. 00:28:22.20\00:28:25.93 And so for those two weeks, 00:28:25.97\00:28:28.20 God revealed Himself to me in such an incredible way 00:28:28.24\00:28:32.61 that I thought, I never want to go back, 00:28:32.64\00:28:34.31 God's real. 00:28:34.34\00:28:35.91 You know, He is real and He can make a difference 00:28:35.94\00:28:38.38 and I want that transformation in my own heart and life. 00:28:38.41\00:28:43.39 That is so beautiful, that is simply because, 00:28:43.42\00:28:45.95 I think there is so many people dealing with legalism 00:28:45.99\00:28:49.39 and when you're dealing with legalism, 00:28:49.42\00:28:51.79 you don't know Jesus for yourself, 00:28:51.83\00:28:55.16 it's not about Jesus, it's about 00:28:55.20\00:28:57.23 I can't do this, I can't do that, 00:28:57.27\00:28:59.13 I have to do this, I have to do that. 00:28:59.17\00:29:01.24 Rules without relationship mean nothing. 00:29:01.27\00:29:04.61 And so you got to see 00:29:04.64\00:29:07.64 Christianity played out, lived 00:29:07.68\00:29:11.98 because Jesus changed your mom's heart. 00:29:12.01\00:29:14.08 Amen. 00:29:14.12\00:29:15.45 And look at how God works. 00:29:15.48\00:29:16.82 He changed your mom, 00:29:16.85\00:29:18.32 He does things so interestingly to make us, 00:29:18.35\00:29:21.89 He'll make one move 00:29:21.92\00:29:23.83 and it accomplishes multiple things, 00:29:23.86\00:29:26.29 so He moved on your mom's heart. 00:29:26.33\00:29:28.90 Got him closer, got her closer to Him 00:29:28.93\00:29:31.40 and that moved on your heart and got you closer to Him. 00:29:31.43\00:29:34.47 And my dad, you know and my sister, 00:29:34.50\00:29:36.77 I have an older sister, I'm the baby, 00:29:36.81\00:29:38.77 so, you know, my whole family, it impacted my whole family. 00:29:38.81\00:29:41.74 Amen. All right smart, there you go. 00:31:33.92\00:31:36.36 So I would sit in front of him and say, 00:31:36.39\00:31:38.09 "Ah, I don't have my pencil today, 00:31:38.13\00:31:41.00 do you have a pencil?" 00:31:41.03\00:31:42.56 Of course, I had one ready, right. 00:31:42.60\00:31:44.70 Absolutely, absolutely, 00:31:44.73\00:31:46.94 see how important it is to carry your pencil wagon, 00:31:46.97\00:31:49.20 you may want to think about that 00:31:49.24\00:31:50.97 and students here for sure have an extra in there. 00:31:51.01\00:31:54.54 So you guys from the freshmen year on, 00:31:54.58\00:31:58.01 your relationship began to develop 00:31:58.05\00:32:00.65 and are you-- 00:32:00.68\00:32:02.02 and you both were freshmen, so you're same grade. 00:32:02.05\00:32:04.19 That's right. 00:32:04.22\00:32:05.55 And did you talk about, 00:32:05.59\00:32:06.92 when did the subject of marriage come up? 00:32:06.96\00:32:08.99 You know, that's a good question 00:32:09.02\00:32:10.36 because we have made the commitment, 00:32:10.39\00:32:11.73 you know, in Hartland College also, 00:32:11.76\00:32:13.09 you don't, you know date during school there. 00:32:13.13\00:32:14.96 You know, you want to focus on your academics 00:32:15.00\00:32:16.60 and what's your there to do, 00:32:16.63\00:32:17.97 so which I was fine with 00:32:18.00\00:32:19.33 because I really want to see Jill as who she was 00:32:19.37\00:32:22.07 in just regular environment, so we actually didn't say, 00:32:22.10\00:32:24.21 "Hey, I kind of like you, can we go out." 00:32:24.24\00:32:26.44 It's just I want to see her 00:32:26.47\00:32:27.81 and just kind of see how she interacts, 00:32:27.84\00:32:29.18 you know, of course, 00:32:29.21\00:32:30.55 you could tell I gave her my extra pencils and stuff. 00:32:30.58\00:32:31.91 Yeah, yeah. 00:32:31.95\00:32:33.28 But you know, still you like to better see someone 00:32:33.31\00:32:34.65 where they are, 00:32:34.68\00:32:36.02 so they do not pretend some type of false front 00:32:36.05\00:32:37.65 and, so you know, 00:32:37.69\00:32:39.25 was the years went by, several years, 00:32:39.29\00:32:41.32 I was always impressed with, well 00:32:41.36\00:32:43.26 she is more than just surface beauty, 00:32:43.29\00:32:45.73 she has got tremendous spiritual strength 00:32:45.76\00:32:49.13 and beauty inside, 00:32:49.16\00:32:50.50 and of course to me that means everything 00:32:50.53\00:32:52.60 in the world, 00:32:52.63\00:32:53.97 so it wasn't till actually we had graduated 00:32:54.00\00:32:56.67 and we weren't seeing each other 00:32:56.71\00:32:58.27 because we weren't in the class or anything, 00:32:58.31\00:32:59.81 we haven't seen it very often that when we begin to realize, 00:32:59.84\00:33:02.31 you know what, this is more than just friendship, 00:33:02.34\00:33:04.48 I think I like to pursuit it more, 00:33:04.51\00:33:06.18 so it was after school actually that we pursuit. 00:33:06.21\00:33:08.02 So you gave her a call? 00:33:08.05\00:33:10.19 I did, we did some letters, actually letters... 00:33:10.22\00:33:13.66 You went back, you went back to Massachusetts 00:33:13.69\00:33:16.62 so where did you... 00:33:16.66\00:33:17.99 No, I taught English in Bible, 00:33:18.03\00:33:19.36 at Country Haven Academy in Washington State. 00:33:19.39\00:33:21.36 Oh, Washington State. 00:33:21.40\00:33:22.73 So I was out there teaching, when I finished school, 00:33:22.76\00:33:24.63 I went out there and taught academy kids. 00:33:24.67\00:33:26.67 Okay. 00:33:26.70\00:33:28.04 And it was a great experience 00:33:28.07\00:33:29.40 and Greg and I corresponded by letter 00:33:29.44\00:33:30.77 so he was here at 3ABN and he'd write me saying, 00:33:30.81\00:33:34.18 we're doing a concoction, we are up in... 00:33:34.21\00:33:36.51 was that Chicago? 00:33:36.54\00:33:37.88 Yeah, we did one in Chicago. Yeah. 00:33:37.91\00:33:39.25 Okay and he'd say we're here or we're doing this 00:33:39.28\00:33:41.45 and this is what's going on and whatever, 00:33:41.48\00:33:43.85 so we would communicate by letter, 00:33:43.89\00:33:45.42 but at that point he hadn't approached me, 00:33:45.45\00:33:47.26 was more like a friendship thing. 00:33:47.29\00:33:49.29 And I remember thinking, he's got to get moving. 00:33:49.32\00:33:52.16 If he is not serious 00:33:56.53\00:33:58.20 then maybe I should be thinking about somebody else, you know. 00:33:58.23\00:34:01.44 So I did receive a phone call from my mother. 00:34:01.47\00:34:04.87 So she like Jill, thought she's a very nice young lady 00:34:04.91\00:34:07.48 and she said son, 00:34:07.51\00:34:08.84 if you don t get moving, you're going to lose her. 00:34:08.88\00:34:11.35 You're not gonna get her, 00:34:11.38\00:34:12.71 somebody else is going to get her. 00:34:12.75\00:34:14.08 Okay. So, you know. 00:34:14.12\00:34:16.18 So I decided, I better get moving. 00:34:16.22\00:34:19.05 Because I really did in my heart, 00:34:19.09\00:34:20.42 I knew that, you know, 00:34:20.46\00:34:21.79 that this is probably someone that God has for me, 00:34:21.82\00:34:23.89 so yeah, yeah. 00:34:23.93\00:34:25.93 You know, I think it's a beautiful thing to me 00:34:25.96\00:34:27.53 about Greg's character though 00:34:27.56\00:34:28.93 because he always praise about something 00:34:28.96\00:34:32.03 and who consider all aspects of the equation 00:34:32.07\00:34:35.54 before he makes a decision. 00:34:35.57\00:34:37.07 Sometimes I can be at fault too. 00:34:37.11\00:34:38.71 Then once he makes a decision though, 00:34:38.74\00:34:40.98 he doesn't change his mind, 00:34:41.01\00:34:42.34 he just go for it, he just goes. 00:34:42.38\00:34:44.55 And so I think in our relationship, 00:34:44.58\00:34:46.28 you know, he's analyzing all the different things, 00:34:46.31\00:34:48.32 were I'm like, "Okay, I'm ready." 00:34:48.35\00:34:49.98 You know, he's thinking everything 00:34:50.02\00:34:51.72 and then once he's committed, he is 100 percent committed. 00:34:51.75\00:34:54.39 And that's a blessing. Yeah. 00:34:54.42\00:34:55.76 That's great. 00:34:55.79\00:34:57.13 So how long after you the processes began? 00:34:57.16\00:34:59.69 Started moving. 00:34:59.73\00:35:01.06 Yes, started moving, yeah exactly. 00:35:01.10\00:35:02.66 How long after that did you guys get married? 00:35:02.70\00:35:06.53 Well, so we were married in 2002, 00:35:06.57\00:35:08.17 so probably about two years. 00:35:08.20\00:35:11.04 Think about two years when we started... 00:35:11.07\00:35:13.04 Year and half. 00:35:13.07\00:35:14.41 Yeah, maybe year and half. 00:35:14.44\00:35:15.94 Okay. 00:35:15.98\00:35:17.45 Then you brought her here. 00:35:17.48\00:35:19.01 Yeah. For a visit. 00:35:19.05\00:35:20.88 Sure did, yeah, because she wanted to see 3ABN. 00:35:20.92\00:35:23.28 My first recollection of seeing you 00:35:23.32\00:35:25.15 at the church Sabbath when we had the little church. 00:35:25.19\00:35:27.49 Yeah. 00:35:27.52\00:35:28.86 And, and he brought you at church 00:35:28.89\00:35:30.23 and that's first time I remember seeing Jill, 00:35:30.26\00:35:32.23 and I said, okay, that's Greg girlfriend 00:35:32.26\00:35:35.36 so from the beginning everybody around said, 00:35:35.40\00:35:37.33 those two just look like they are perfect match, 00:35:37.37\00:35:39.53 they're just, their personalities, 00:35:39.57\00:35:41.24 their temperament, 00:35:41.27\00:35:42.60 their looks everything about them, the mannerism, 00:35:42.64\00:35:44.67 they just seemed like a perfect match, 00:35:44.71\00:35:46.44 I mean that's just the way you guys 00:35:46.47\00:35:47.98 from the time we first saw you. 00:35:48.01\00:35:50.08 Yeah, we feel the Lord has brought us together. 00:35:50.11\00:35:52.15 You know this is an amazing thing too 00:35:52.18\00:35:53.65 because when we first meet in the cafeteria, 00:35:53.68\00:35:55.18 now this just an interesting side note 00:35:55.22\00:35:57.22 is that okay, so her parents 00:35:57.25\00:35:59.52 and my mom went to school together 00:35:59.55\00:36:02.82 and they hadn't seen each other in years and years. 00:36:02.86\00:36:05.19 So then we end up in school, I'm like oh, 00:36:05.23\00:36:07.96 we know from their academy days from years ago. 00:36:08.00\00:36:11.83 Pioneer Valley Academy in Massachusetts, 00:36:11.87\00:36:13.67 this is in the '60s. 00:36:13.70\00:36:15.04 For you and me that wouldn't be that long ago, 00:36:15.07\00:36:16.74 I know. 00:36:16.77\00:36:18.64 No, no, no, that's okay. 00:36:18.67\00:36:20.41 Just make us feel better. 00:41:23.24\00:41:24.58 How did you get involved with 3ABN? 00:41:24.61\00:41:26.05 Yeah, we talked about that because when I was first came, 00:41:26.08\00:41:27.98 we didn't have a high school here right 00:41:28.02\00:41:29.95 and, so I was telling Greg, well, I'm a teacher, 00:41:29.98\00:41:32.52 you know, so what am I going to do? 00:41:32.55\00:41:33.99 You know, you got have, what am I going to do? 00:41:34.02\00:41:35.59 And he said, 00:41:35.62\00:41:36.96 "If God has brought us together, 00:41:36.99\00:41:38.46 then God's gonna open up the door. 00:41:38.49\00:41:40.03 God knows what you should do, 00:41:40.06\00:41:41.40 and where Greg had grown up with 3ABN, 00:41:41.43\00:41:44.03 we didn't, my family didn't have 3ABN, 00:41:44.07\00:41:46.50 so it was like all brand new. 00:41:46.53\00:41:47.97 I better talk to your parents. 00:41:48.00\00:41:49.47 They have it now, they have roku. 00:41:49.50\00:41:50.94 Okay, good, good, all right. 00:41:50.97\00:41:52.37 They have rokus so they get it now, 00:41:52.41\00:41:54.71 but when I was a kid, we didn't have it, 00:41:54.74\00:41:56.41 and so when I came here that's I think 00:41:56.44\00:41:58.81 when I fell in love with the ministry here. 00:41:58.85\00:42:00.75 I mean it wasn't something before 00:42:00.78\00:42:02.15 where in Greg it was kind of before, 00:42:02.18\00:42:04.19 but for me it's when I came here. 00:42:04.22\00:42:06.25 So I started just a few months after we got married, 00:42:06.29\00:42:09.52 teaching piano lessons. 00:42:09.56\00:42:10.93 Yes, I heard about the little trailer. 00:42:10.96\00:42:12.63 People started asking, will you teach piano 00:42:12.66\00:42:14.36 and I was like, "I don't know how to teach piano. 00:42:14.40\00:42:16.53 She is a very good pianist. 00:42:16.56\00:42:17.90 I don't have any degree in music you know, 00:42:17.93\00:42:19.60 I don't know what I am doing? 00:42:19.63\00:42:21.74 So Greg said, well, you should try Jill 00:42:21.77\00:42:23.41 and I said okay, I'll try 00:42:23.47\00:42:25.31 and so that's when I started doing. 00:42:25.34\00:42:27.48 I did music with the kids at our church school. 00:42:27.51\00:42:30.48 Worked there for ten years I guess, 00:42:30.51\00:42:32.98 before I came over and worked here for 3ABN. 00:42:33.01\00:42:35.82 Before she started out at the school here 00:42:35.85\00:42:38.69 our Christian school, 00:42:38.72\00:42:40.06 she thought I have a little trailer, 00:42:40.09\00:42:41.42 we rented the trailer from Gonzales Santos 00:42:41.46\00:42:42.99 when he was here. 00:42:43.02\00:42:44.36 Yeah. 00:42:44.39\00:42:45.73 And so the very first student I believe was Summer... 00:42:45.76\00:42:47.83 Oh, can Summer really play. 00:42:47.86\00:42:51.50 Good job. 00:42:51.53\00:42:52.87 Now she is working here at 3ABN but just a little thing 00:42:52.90\00:42:54.74 then so that was her first student 00:42:54.77\00:42:56.27 and that was the beginning. 00:42:56.30\00:42:57.64 Yeah. 00:42:57.67\00:42:59.01 So, I was at the school ten years, 00:42:59.04\00:43:00.38 and this was really incredible 00:43:00.41\00:43:01.74 how God brought me here to work here at 3ABN. 00:43:01.78\00:43:05.08 To me the ministry was in my heart, 00:43:05.11\00:43:07.68 and the last two years that I worked over the school, 00:43:07.72\00:43:11.29 we were praying, I felt in my heart 00:43:11.32\00:43:12.99 that God was calling me to work here at the ministry. 00:43:13.02\00:43:16.09 Not that I didn't love what I did there, 00:43:16.12\00:43:18.06 and I was supposed to do that for that season. 00:43:18.09\00:43:20.16 But God was like, "Jill, I want you to do more fulltime 00:43:20.20\00:43:22.56 in the fulltime ministry", 00:43:22.60\00:43:24.43 but Greg and I prayed about it, 00:43:24.47\00:43:25.80 and we said, "well, we don't want to run ahead of you God", 00:43:25.83\00:43:27.94 so maybe it's not Your will or what do you want? 00:43:27.97\00:43:30.61 And so we prayed, and we said, "God if it's your will, 00:43:30.64\00:43:33.64 then 3ABN will approach us, and ask you to do it." 00:43:33.68\00:43:37.05 And Greg said, "They're not going to ask Jilly, 00:43:37.08\00:43:39.08 I know they're not going to ask, 00:43:39.11\00:43:40.45 because Mollie had asked three times in the past, 00:43:40.48\00:43:43.05 Jill will you come work? 00:43:43.08\00:43:44.42 And every time I told her no, 00:43:44.45\00:43:45.85 I'm called to work with the kids, 00:43:45.89\00:43:47.56 I love the ministry at 3ABN, but I should be over here." 00:43:47.59\00:43:50.86 And so, we prayed about it for two years. 00:43:50.89\00:43:53.36 And then one day I was in Mollie's office, and she said, 00:43:53.40\00:43:56.97 "You know, my dream for this ministry 00:43:57.00\00:43:58.67 has always been that you come and work here. 00:43:58.70\00:44:01.10 But I know you're going to tell me, no." 00:44:01.14\00:44:03.07 And I said actually, 00:44:03.10\00:44:05.01 "I'm going to tell you, yes." 00:44:05.04\00:44:06.41 And she was like, 00:44:06.44\00:44:08.78 and I said, we've been praying about that, 00:44:08.81\00:44:10.18 and this is, you know, the hand of God 00:44:10.21\00:44:11.75 'cause we asked God to show us a sign, show us. 00:44:11.78\00:44:14.55 Yeah, absolutely beautiful. 00:44:14.58\00:44:16.79 So, Greg you came and you were doing camera 00:44:16.82\00:44:19.59 and working, but eventually, you ended up at call center. 00:44:19.62\00:44:22.52 That's right, yeah. 00:44:22.56\00:44:23.89 I worked at the Uplink, then we worked 00:44:23.93\00:44:25.26 on the truck crew for while traveling. 00:44:25.29\00:44:26.73 The truck was pretty new then, traveled with the truck crew. 00:44:26.76\00:44:29.43 Then we got together, and I didn't want to travel 00:44:29.46\00:44:32.37 because, you know, we're starting our marriage 00:44:32.40\00:44:34.30 and I didn't want to be traveling. 00:44:34.34\00:44:35.84 And so, an opportunity at the call center opened up, 00:44:35.87\00:44:38.44 and so, they needed some help in the print shop, 00:44:38.47\00:44:40.28 remember when we had the print shop with actual presses, 00:44:40.31\00:44:42.61 with real ink, you know, was spinning in these wheels 00:44:42.64\00:44:44.65 and all the stuff, 00:44:44.68\00:44:46.01 so I ran the print shop for a couple of years, 00:44:46.05\00:44:48.52 and then the opportunity opened up 00:44:48.55\00:44:49.92 to oversee the call center... 00:44:49.95\00:44:51.29 Yes. 00:44:51.32\00:44:52.65 With Christa Benz, and I worked there for a few years. 00:44:52.69\00:44:55.02 Yeah. 00:44:55.06\00:44:56.39 That great experience, that I enjoyed a lot 00:44:56.42\00:44:57.76 because the call centers were-- 00:44:57.79\00:44:59.59 to me is a very much interaction with the people 00:44:59.63\00:45:02.83 on the other side of the TV screen. 00:45:02.86\00:45:04.63 Sure, all the orders coming and going, 00:45:04.67\00:45:07.00 and of course the printing and everything going at you, 00:45:07.04\00:45:09.07 you really learn a lot about. 00:45:09.10\00:45:10.77 Plus it gave you some experience 00:45:10.81\00:45:13.27 and leadership and management, 00:45:13.31\00:45:15.78 and then after a period of time, 00:45:15.81\00:45:18.28 we called you over here. 00:45:18.31\00:45:19.65 Now, what we asked you to do over here? 00:45:19.68\00:45:21.05 Well, right now, I oversee production, 00:45:21.08\00:45:22.62 production manager is what my title is, 00:45:22.65\00:45:24.45 and I have a great crew. 00:45:24.49\00:45:25.82 I'm asking him what we, you know, ask him to do, 00:45:25.85\00:45:28.76 we would have him do whole lot more. 00:45:28.79\00:45:31.19 What did we promise you that you would do? 00:45:31.23\00:45:34.20 Well that's funny because, you know, 00:45:34.23\00:45:35.56 the call center thing kind of opened up quickly and, 00:45:35.60\00:45:37.47 you know, to be manager there. 00:45:37.50\00:45:38.87 And I was told well, this is just kind of temporary, 00:45:38.90\00:45:41.07 you know, just kind of filling for a little bit, 00:45:41.10\00:45:42.70 and that ended up being about ten years I think, 00:45:42.74\00:45:45.97 temporary ten years. 00:45:46.01\00:45:47.34 Yeah, temporary. 00:45:47.38\00:45:48.71 But it was fun, I appreciate-- 00:45:48.74\00:45:50.08 But you're a production manager-- 00:45:50.11\00:45:51.45 Here right now. Doing an incredible job. 00:45:51.48\00:45:52.81 It's fun. Absolutely. 00:45:52.85\00:45:54.18 Great crew to work with. 00:45:54.22\00:45:56.02 Both Greg and Jill have this, what you see, is what you get. 00:45:56.05\00:46:00.02 Honest. 00:46:00.06\00:46:01.39 I mean, they, you know, some people 00:46:01.42\00:46:02.86 put on a different personas. 00:46:02.89\00:46:04.73 I call it put on the dog. 00:46:04.76\00:46:06.36 Yeah. Yeah. 00:46:06.39\00:46:08.16 They don't do that. 00:46:08.20\00:46:09.53 They are real, they are so real 00:46:09.56\00:46:11.43 and they do an outstanding job. 00:46:11.47\00:46:13.77 You know, when there's an issue, 00:46:13.80\00:46:15.57 if we have a production issue, 00:46:15.60\00:46:17.01 I can talk to Greg, there's no... He's just so easy-- 00:46:17.04\00:46:20.04 I enjoyed working with both of you. 00:46:20.08\00:46:21.84 You know, it's a blessing. It is. 00:46:21.88\00:46:23.75 And I feel like, we're really a family here, 00:46:23.78\00:46:26.95 that this is not-- 00:46:26.98\00:46:28.32 That's right. 00:46:28.35\00:46:29.68 You know, this is about ministry and we are about 00:46:29.72\00:46:32.69 trying to just share the gospel and so, 00:46:32.72\00:46:35.89 there is as Mollie says, "There's a DNA at 3ABN. 00:46:35.92\00:46:40.10 3ABN has its own DNA, and I think everybody 00:46:40.13\00:46:42.46 that's here was handpicked to be here. 00:46:42.50\00:46:45.70 It really does, and of course, you're actually 00:46:45.73\00:46:48.30 executive secretary if you want to call that, 00:46:48.34\00:46:50.47 it may be more than that like to, 00:46:50.51\00:46:52.17 but she is all the letters and everything nice 00:46:52.21\00:46:55.88 and all the things that people get that really comes from her. 00:46:55.91\00:46:59.21 And she reminds me of things that I forget all the time. 00:46:59.25\00:47:02.25 You know, and everyday just about my phone or the text 00:47:02.28\00:47:05.65 we were going, she'll say, "Today you have such and such", 00:47:05.69\00:47:08.02 and I need that because, unlike a lot, 00:47:08.06\00:47:10.63 I'm not-- People try to figure that out after 31 years, 00:47:10.66\00:47:13.56 I'm not very organized. 00:47:13.60\00:47:14.93 When I come to work, I don't really have plans. 00:47:14.96\00:47:17.17 Okay, today, I got to do boom-boom-boom, 00:47:17.20\00:47:19.67 down the line, I'll just show up usually. 00:47:19.70\00:47:22.07 And say, okay, Lord, what are we doing today? 00:47:22.10\00:47:24.04 And so, I can jump from one thing to the other. 00:47:24.07\00:47:27.08 But in the meanwhile, I forget what I'm supposed 00:47:27.11\00:47:29.58 to done over here. 00:47:29.61\00:47:30.95 So, Jill's a great... 00:47:30.98\00:47:32.31 Thank you so much for what you're doing, organizing, 00:47:32.35\00:47:34.98 you know what I do. 00:47:35.02\00:47:36.35 Of course, I look forward to coming here and enjoy. 00:47:36.38\00:47:38.19 Oh, yeah. 00:47:38.22\00:47:39.55 And Pastor Gilley was here, I didn't come this, you know, 00:47:39.59\00:47:41.39 all the hours every day, and showed up 00:47:41.42\00:47:43.22 when they needed me to do things, 00:47:43.26\00:47:44.76 and programming here and there. 00:47:44.79\00:47:46.13 But, I've been back in the seat for number of months, 00:47:46.16\00:47:48.46 and couldn't do without either one of you. 00:47:48.50\00:47:50.50 Without all of you here, because Greg, 00:47:50.53\00:47:52.90 what a tremendous responsibility 00:47:52.93\00:47:55.20 you have overtaken, 00:47:55.24\00:47:56.60 and how smooth the transition 00:47:56.64\00:47:59.04 was to be over all the production teams, 00:47:59.07\00:48:01.51 and all the different people that you deal with, 00:48:01.54\00:48:03.71 all the scheduling issues, all the personals issues, 00:48:03.75\00:48:07.02 everything that goes wrong 00:48:07.05\00:48:08.38 and of course Jill was there too. 00:48:08.42\00:48:09.85 She helps with all the production. 00:48:09.88\00:48:11.45 She is your right hand person too. 00:48:11.49\00:48:13.49 Oh, yeah. I'm really blessed. 00:48:13.52\00:48:14.86 So, you guys are able to work together in the ministry, 00:48:14.89\00:48:17.23 and still speak to each other. 00:48:17.26\00:48:19.19 That's right, yeah. 00:48:19.23\00:48:20.56 That's true. 00:48:20.60\00:48:21.93 You know, that's a neat thing too, you know, 'cause, 00:48:21.96\00:48:23.33 you know, several years back, you know, 00:48:23.37\00:48:25.13 it's just again seeing how God's hands involved 00:48:25.17\00:48:27.34 in everything, and how God can take something, 00:48:27.37\00:48:29.84 that some people may say it's bad, 00:48:29.87\00:48:31.21 and turn into something good, you know, 00:48:31.24\00:48:33.14 'cause therefore while we were looking at having kids, 00:48:33.17\00:48:35.08 and doctors and things say you can't. 00:48:35.11\00:48:36.61 You know, God didn't open that door for us. 00:48:36.64\00:48:38.55 And that's okay, you know, and that's were, you know, 00:48:38.58\00:48:40.52 we feel God has called us into ministry, we fill 3ABN, 00:48:40.55\00:48:43.89 you know, and so we can work together closely, 00:48:43.92\00:48:46.42 involved together and so, we're just very happy, 00:48:46.45\00:48:49.42 God has just blessed us for just-- 00:48:49.46\00:48:51.83 I'm gonna say proud, can I say that 00:48:51.86\00:48:53.23 to be part of this ministry, 00:48:53.26\00:48:54.96 to be involved in God's work to be really on the frontlines. 00:48:55.00\00:48:58.17 We got a ministry that's on the go. 00:48:58.20\00:49:00.10 That's out there, it's just... 00:49:00.14\00:49:01.60 We talk about this often, we're so blessed 00:49:01.64\00:49:04.11 and so humbled to be here. 00:49:04.14\00:49:05.67 It's just incredible. 00:49:05.71\00:49:07.04 Well, I can tell you, I have been impressed for some time, 00:49:07.08\00:49:09.88 I really feel like you know, 00:49:09.91\00:49:12.61 as bad as we all hate to admit it, time is going on, 00:49:12.65\00:49:15.38 and we're not getting any younger and-- 00:49:15.42\00:49:17.92 Don't look at me. 00:49:17.95\00:49:19.29 No, I'm just talking to you. 00:49:19.32\00:49:21.66 Not thinking about you at all, over here but, 00:49:21.69\00:49:24.79 some of us aren't getting any younger. 00:49:24.83\00:49:26.66 But, we need leadership for tomorrow, 00:49:26.70\00:49:29.26 but you don't get leadership for tomorrow, 00:49:29.30\00:49:31.27 if they're not doing it today. 00:49:31.30\00:49:32.93 And so, what Greg and Jill have brought for so long, 00:49:32.97\00:49:36.57 in the spirituality, you guys and your literally 00:49:36.60\00:49:40.21 the abilities and gifts that God has given you to work 00:49:40.24\00:49:42.64 with people and to love people. 00:49:42.68\00:49:44.41 And the service, I've been impressed 00:49:44.45\00:49:46.85 for the last two or three years, 00:49:46.88\00:49:48.48 that you all, and as the Lord tells me 00:49:48.52\00:49:50.99 when or whatever happens, I would like... 00:49:51.02\00:49:52.55 for I'm saying publicly that for you all to be, 00:49:52.59\00:49:55.69 Greg you'll be president, vice president Jill, 00:49:55.72\00:49:57.96 because I believe God is leading that he set this up. 00:49:57.99\00:50:01.16 And that something, that I'm convinced, 00:50:01.20\00:50:03.77 I'm convinced there are lot of things in life, 00:50:03.80\00:50:06.40 and you know, I can't say everything that I'm impressed 00:50:06.43\00:50:08.44 about, it is of the Lord, nobody can do that, 00:50:08.47\00:50:11.57 but it surely has build a station to reach the world. 00:50:11.61\00:50:13.98 I believe that Greg and Jill are sent here 00:50:14.01\00:50:16.21 to take over this ministry because 00:50:16.24\00:50:18.45 they worked literally from the ground up. 00:50:18.48\00:50:20.38 There's nothing that they haven't done, 00:50:20.42\00:50:22.38 and they're here, they know this inside and out. 00:50:22.42\00:50:25.45 But they have this spiritual vision 00:50:25.49\00:50:27.79 to continue to make sure that... 00:50:27.82\00:50:31.43 I pass along the scene or whatever happens 00:50:31.46\00:50:34.00 that the undiluted Three Angels' Messages, 00:50:34.03\00:50:37.00 one would counteract to counterfeit 00:50:37.03\00:50:39.07 goes into all the world. 00:50:39.10\00:50:40.90 And so I'm convinced of your love for the message 00:50:40.94\00:50:43.67 that God has given us as a church 00:50:43.71\00:50:45.51 and a people and our mission here at 3ABN. 00:50:45.54\00:50:48.54 So, I'm so pleased to know that God has people, 00:50:48.58\00:50:52.98 you know, right where they need to be, 00:50:53.01\00:50:54.72 so this ministry is dependent on one person, 00:50:54.75\00:50:57.49 it never has been, 00:50:57.52\00:50:58.85 not dependent on two people or five people. 00:50:58.89\00:51:01.22 But It's dependent on all of us. 00:51:01.26\00:51:02.79 Those of us who work here, those of you at home, 00:51:02.82\00:51:05.29 because without you, we couldn't t do anything here, 00:51:05.33\00:51:07.70 I mean we could sit around and talk, 00:51:07.73\00:51:09.50 but to take the gospel to the world, 00:51:09.53\00:51:12.03 we thank you for your love and your prayers, 00:51:12.07\00:51:13.90 and financial support. 00:51:13.94\00:51:15.64 And we're asking that you pray and ask the Lord, 00:51:15.67\00:51:17.91 Lord what would you have me to do in support of 3ABN 00:51:17.94\00:51:21.41 financially, prayerfully, verbally by telling 00:51:21.44\00:51:24.88 your friends, becoming blessing on the go. 00:51:24.91\00:51:27.28 Evangelistic team members means you're monthly donors, 00:51:27.32\00:51:30.15 you get your certificate, then we send you a monthly tool, 00:51:30.19\00:51:33.66 whether it's preaching, teaching, music whatever, 00:51:33.69\00:51:36.39 so you can not only be nurtured yourself, 00:51:36.42\00:51:38.66 but then give it to your, friends, your neighbors. 00:51:38.69\00:51:41.00 And it's all about, to me, Yvonne, 00:51:41.03\00:51:43.13 it's preparation for Jesus to come back. 00:51:43.16\00:51:45.70 There has to be a latter rain experience 00:51:45.73\00:51:47.77 and why not start here? 00:51:47.80\00:51:49.17 Why not now? Why not where you are? 00:51:49.20\00:51:51.41 So, before that happens, we have to submit and commit 00:51:51.44\00:51:54.71 our lives to the Lord, 00:51:54.74\00:51:56.54 and we have to catch the vision 00:51:56.58\00:51:58.01 of take this gospel to the kingdom 00:51:58.05\00:51:59.81 into all the world, 00:51:59.85\00:52:01.18 before we can share with others. 00:52:01.22\00:52:02.65 Once we get it, once we accept it, 00:52:02.68\00:52:05.29 then when we speak, 00:52:05.32\00:52:07.39 you said, "Your mother changed," 00:52:07.42\00:52:09.06 Jesus says, "If I be lifted up will draw all men unto me." 00:52:09.09\00:52:12.59 You recognized Jesus coming out of your mother. 00:52:12.63\00:52:14.83 Didn't mean your mother was perfect from that day on, 00:52:14.86\00:52:17.23 but she caught it, 00:52:17.27\00:52:18.60 she caught that relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ 00:52:18.63\00:52:21.30 so, you know, 00:52:21.34\00:52:22.67 I thank you guys for what you do 00:52:22.70\00:52:24.54 and what we've seen in leadership 00:52:24.57\00:52:26.88 for so many years. 00:52:26.91\00:52:29.71 And I feel like 3ABN's is in good hands, 00:52:29.74\00:52:32.01 you know, even now because it's not like, I'm gonna do. 00:52:32.05\00:52:34.88 I love to have Greg and Jill in almost on any meetings 00:52:34.92\00:52:37.62 that we're having, business wise, 00:52:37.65\00:52:39.45 'cause I want you to see, 00:52:39.49\00:52:40.99 you know, what we do, and how we operate, 00:52:41.02\00:52:43.36 and how we deal with people, whether it's business, 00:52:43.39\00:52:46.19 whether it's on spiritual plain, 00:52:46.23\00:52:47.56 whatever and they come in, and he says, 00:52:47.60\00:52:50.07 "He likes to learn", but I can learn from him too. 00:52:50.10\00:52:52.30 And I learnt from both of them actually so. 00:52:52.33\00:52:54.57 Well, you know, the thought of is overwhelming 00:52:54.60\00:52:57.04 now to think about taking on, you know, more leadership, 00:52:57.07\00:52:58.87 but I know that God provides, you know, 00:52:58.91\00:53:01.24 whatever our needs are. 00:53:01.28\00:53:02.64 But I'm-- You know, I will pray though that 00:53:02.68\00:53:04.71 you live basically forever, you stay here forever 00:53:04.75\00:53:08.32 until the Lord Jesus Christ comes. 00:53:08.35\00:53:09.68 Yeah. 00:53:09.72\00:53:11.05 Well, even if the Lord tarries, 00:53:11.09\00:53:12.85 you know, at a certain age I feel like people 00:53:12.89\00:53:14.82 need to back away and let people live. 00:53:14.86\00:53:16.69 Because we don't always think straight, 00:53:16.73\00:53:18.16 and no one wants to tell us, you know, so we're already, 00:53:18.19\00:53:22.50 I'm telling you, I'm not gonna be one of those 00:53:22.53\00:53:23.90 who wants to hang on forever, 00:53:23.93\00:53:25.37 I'll be here as long as God gives me breath and health, 00:53:25.40\00:53:28.24 I'll be here to support you in every way I can, 00:53:28.27\00:53:30.74 and support the folk at home, 00:53:30.77\00:53:32.64 and not planning on going anywhere, 00:53:32.67\00:53:34.11 but hey it's not up to me. 00:53:34.14\00:53:35.61 We're going to go to newsbreak. 00:53:35.64\00:53:36.98 We'll be back in just a moment. 00:53:37.01\00:53:38.35
