00:08 Mending broken people 00:12 I want to spend my life 00:19 Removing pain 00:24 Lord, let my words 00:30 Heal a heart that hurts 00:35 I want to spend my life 00:40 Mending broken people 00:46 I want to spend my life 00:51 Mending broken people 01:07 Hello, I'm Shelley Quinn 01:09 and we welcome you once again to 3ABN today. 01:12 We particularly want to say, 01:14 just give a shout out to all of you 01:16 who are members of the Go Evangelistic team, 01:19 which is growing day by day. 01:20 And it is so exciting to see what the Lord is doing 01:24 in preparation for His return. 01:26 And the group that we have with us today, it's a family. 01:29 And they all have really taken the great gospel commission 01:35 seriously and personally. 01:38 And they have a message today that is going to inspire you, 01:41 encourage you and even challenge you 01:43 to become more involved in the Lord's work. 01:46 Let me read a quick scripture 01:48 and then I shall introduce them. 01:51 This comes from Revelation 3:8. 01:53 And actually our guest suggested it to me today. 01:56 This is something that they took very personally 02:00 and they claim God's promise and He has fulfilled His word. 02:05 This is from Revelation 3:8. 02:08 In which Jesus says, "I know your works. 02:12 See, I have set before you an open door 02:16 and no one can shut it. 02:19 For you have a little strength, 02:21 and have kept my word and have not denied my name." 02:26 Jesus is opening doors for people around the world 02:30 to be involved in ministry. 02:32 And that is exactly 02:33 what the Phillips family has done, 02:35 they accepted their call. 02:37 Let me introduce our special guests. 02:39 First we have Papa Phillips I could say, John Phillips. 02:43 And, John, you are the vice president 02:46 of engineering for ministry 02:48 that you helped found called HeReturns. 02:50 Yes. 02:52 And we're just very excited to have you here. 02:54 I'm so glad to be here. How wonderful. 02:56 And then we also have your lovely wife Karen. 02:58 Hello. Karen, we're glad you're here. 03:00 You actually do a lot of volunteer work 03:03 for the ministry. 03:04 That's correct. 03:05 And Prayer Support I understand is the most 03:07 important position that you hold. 03:09 Yes, absolutely. Amen. 03:11 And then one of your four children 03:12 have joined you today 03:14 and that is Rob Phillips. 03:15 Rob, tell me just a little bit. 03:17 You are an intern at Eden Valley, 03:19 is that correct? 03:21 Yes, that's right. 03:22 I'm in Eden Valley as a health institute 03:24 dedicated to promoting health in the community. 03:26 Helping people with cancer, diabetes 03:28 and I'm really enjoying it. 03:29 Wonderful, wonderful. 03:31 But you also are... 03:33 As Karen says, 03:34 he is the cheer leader for HeReturns. 03:36 This is a ministry that has touched them individually, 03:41 they are very excited about. 03:43 Before we get to their story we know how much you at home 03:46 love the music 03:48 and we all love the music here as well. 03:49 So today we have one of our own. 03:52 And I just love her voice. 03:56 This is Tammy Chance and she is going to be singing 04:00 "Heavenly Music." 04:22 What heavenly music 04:28 steals over the sea 04:32 Entrancing the senses 04:37 like sweet melody 04:42 'Tis the voice of the angels 04:47 born soft on the air 04:54 For me they are singing, 04:59 their welcome I hear 05:14 On the banks of old Jordan, 05:19 here gazing I stand 05:26 And earnestly longing, 05:31 I stretch forth my hand 05:38 Send a convoy of angels, 05:44 dear Jesus, I pray 05:51 Let me join that sweet music, 05:56 come, take me away 06:23 Though dark are the waters 06:29 and rough is the wave 06:33 If Jesus permit, 06:38 the wild surges I'll brave 06:43 For the heavenly music 06:49 hath ravished me so 06:56 I must join in that chorus! 07:01 I will go 07:04 Let me go 07:32 And we thank Tammy Chance for that beautiful song. 07:35 Tammy is just a sweet and precious 07:37 as she appears to be 07:39 and we never get tired of listening to her voice. 07:42 J.D. and I have several of her CDs. 07:44 And she is someone special to us. 07:47 So thank you. 07:49 If you're joining us just a little late today, 07:51 we have the Phillips family with us 07:53 and they are all volunteers for ministry called HeReturns. 07:57 And John Phillips, the father, has, actually, 08:00 you're one of the founders of HeReturns. 08:02 But before we get into your story of the ministry, 08:08 let's find out a little who John Phillips is. 08:10 Did you grow up in an Adventist family? 08:13 No, I did not. 08:15 Actually I was a Presbyterian. Okay. 08:18 And after high school 08:20 walked completely away from the Lord, 08:22 for about 15 years God was patient with me 08:26 and eventually I came back to the church 08:28 and became a Christian in the early 90s 08:32 and joined the Adventist Church in 1992. 08:37 Now you're an engineer, 08:38 so may I assume as an engineer 08:40 you have a very analytical mind 08:42 and you really studied things out 08:44 before you joined? 08:45 Yes, that's actually true. 08:47 I joined because of the doctrines. 08:51 Amen. The Biblical doctrines. 08:53 Studying out and especially the, 08:57 that the prophetic truths 08:58 and the present truth really appealed to me. 09:01 Praise the Lord. 09:02 And then Karen, you and I met at GC for the first time 09:06 and I was so impressed when you first came up 09:09 and I was touched by the teaching 09:11 that the Lord gave me 09:13 that actually helped you. 09:15 Tell us a little bit about who you are? 09:18 Well, I've been married... 09:20 John and I were married for 20 years 09:23 and then we were divorced for 10 years. 09:26 And I believe that God 09:28 has brought us back together again 09:30 to do a great and powerful work for His Kingdom. 09:33 And the way that He brought us back together, 09:36 Shelley, is, I studied His word, 09:38 but I used your book Exalting His Word. 09:41 And in the back of it 09:42 the life affirmation scriptures, 09:44 I'd wake up in the middle of the night 09:46 and I'd write those scriptures out 09:47 and I'd claim them 09:49 and God brought us back together 09:51 in a miraculous way. 09:52 We were married 09:54 for the second time in December 2013. 09:57 And it's just amazing to us. 10:00 We look at each other every day and say, 10:02 God has done a great and powerful work 10:05 and He's going to continue to do His work. 10:08 We're excited. Amen. 10:09 And I wished we had time for the full story because, 10:13 you know, God kept 10:14 and even though they were separate 10:16 he kept them for one another. 10:17 They never got close to marrying anyone else. 10:20 And he intended for you to be brought back together. 10:22 Amen. 10:24 And so we're so excited about that. 10:25 Now, Rob, as we said you're an intern at Eden Valley. 10:29 And you are 21 years old and single. 10:32 Yes. And single. 10:34 Okay, is there a significance interest in your life, 10:37 other than the Lord, I mean, 10:38 is there someone special in your life right now or... 10:41 No, not at this point. 10:42 I'm just trying to grow up and be as on fire for God 10:46 and single for His purposes as I can 10:48 and maybe someday if God puts a person like myself 10:52 who's on fire for Him in my life, 10:54 maybe it might be a possibility. 10:55 Praise the Lord. Okay. 10:57 Ladies, if you're on fire for the Lord... 11:00 Well, that was a little free advertisement. 11:02 I'm just kidding. All right. 11:05 Tell our ministry, the people who are watching, 11:08 what your ministry is all about, HeReturns. 11:12 HeReturns is about regular people 11:18 wanting to do great things for God. 11:21 We had been-- number of us 11:23 had been doing Bible prophecy seminars, 11:28 giving Bible studies and many different activities 11:31 during last decade, starting on early 2000's. 11:36 In 2010 a group of myself and two other men 11:43 decided to form a ministry. 11:46 And our purpose was to, we wanted to do impossible. 11:51 We wanted to tackle projects that we could not possibly do, 11:56 because then only God can do it. 11:58 Amen. 12:00 And then great things can happen. 12:02 We believe that the time is short. 12:04 Yes. 12:06 We believe that the, the world is falling apart 12:09 before our very eyes. 12:11 We... 12:13 I like to use the imagery of the "Titanic." 12:17 And when the "Titanic" was floating a little bit, 12:22 everything was fine, 12:24 the people were engaging in their normal lives, 12:26 maybe the storage were polishing, 12:30 and the silverware of the rich people, 12:33 life was normal. 12:35 When the Titanic hit the iceberg 12:37 everything suddenly changed. 12:39 Amen. 12:40 The things that used to matter 12:42 did not matter anymore 12:43 because the priorities were totally different. 12:45 And we believe that the Titanic is sinking 12:49 and that we want to put more and more focus 12:53 on souls for eternity 12:55 because that's what it's all about. 12:57 Get the life boats going. 12:59 The only thing that's gonna survive this world 13:01 is souls for eternity. 13:04 That's really all up, you know, that's what it's about. 13:06 Absolutely. So what does HeReturns do? 13:12 We do Bible prophecy seminars. 13:17 For number of years Rob and I 13:19 did multimedia prophecy seminars together. 13:24 Mostly using the... 13:25 It Is Written series, New Beginnings. 13:28 Okay. I really love that series. 13:30 And my wife and I do a lot of chapels together. 13:33 All right. 13:34 She sings and plays the guitar 13:37 and then I conduct Bible studies. 13:39 It's a great team and we're incredibly blessed 13:43 to have those opportunities. 13:45 And then, but you have recently, 13:48 I know that when we met you told me 13:50 that Danny Shelton and 3ABN 13:52 were a real inspiration to you, the story of 3ABN. 13:57 Yes. 13:58 So tell us what HeReturns is doing right now. 14:02 Since we formed principally to do impossible things, 14:08 things that were beyond our abilities and capabilities, 14:11 we, our interest turned very quickly to mass media. 14:17 For many years now 14:18 3ABN has been a tremendous inspiration to us. 14:21 We love 3ABN. 14:23 And so our intentions quickly turned to, 14:26 wanting to help spread 3ABN 14:30 as many places we possibly could. 14:33 There's a lot of people in cities 14:35 and they can't be reached, 14:37 many of them, most of them can't be reached personally, 14:40 it takes mass media. 14:41 Yes. 14:43 So when you say to spread 3ABN, 14:45 "How would you spread 3ABN?" 14:48 We-- Our first attempt was with radio. 14:54 I found that in our region, we're from Nebraska. 14:58 They were many, or to call, radio translators available, 15:03 for basically a repeater. 15:04 You pull a signal from satellite or internet perhaps, 15:09 and then you rebroadcast 15:11 and we saw that there are many of these, 15:14 all of our region, many towns and cities. 15:16 So we started looking at that, unfortunately, 15:18 we found that the FCC Laws, 15:22 the Federal Communications Commission 15:23 don't allow us to lease or buy those 15:28 and rebroadcast somebody else's signal, 15:32 so we had to abandon that. 15:34 Okay. 15:36 In fall 2014, we saw an ad for a TV Chanel 15:43 that was available in Kansas City. 15:47 We were extremely daunted. 15:50 We had no broadcast experience whatsoever. 15:54 I've been in computer electronics for 40 years 15:57 but knew nothing about broadcasting. 16:00 But we're inspired from a statement from Ellen G. 16:05 White's Spirit of Prophecy. I like to read. 16:06 Surely. 16:07 And it says, 16:09 this is in a Testimonies volume 6. 16:11 "We must look our work fairly in the face 16:14 and advance as fast as possible in aggressive warfare." 16:20 That's an intense verse. That is. 16:22 Aggressive warfare is very... 16:25 This is a command. It's a command. 16:28 So it helped us to take this to heart. 16:31 So we responded to the ad. 16:34 We contacted the station. 16:36 I didn't think they'd want to talk to us. 16:38 We didn't have any idea what we're doing. 16:41 That's true. 16:43 But God granted us favor with these people. 16:46 And, and even without us asking they greatly reduced 16:50 the startup and monthly cost. 16:52 So we could see that God was in this 16:55 and we didn't ask them to do that, 16:57 but they did. 17:00 Even before they accepted our offer, 17:03 there was an LGBT group that came to them 17:06 to try and get a spot in their station 17:09 and they said no to them. 17:10 Oh, wonderful. Okay. 17:12 It's a ministry. 17:13 It's another Christian ministry. 17:14 Yes. 17:16 So what happened was the, we didn't have any money. 17:20 We-- that the staff scraped and borrowed to get the money. 17:25 We didn't think we could wait for donations. 17:30 And we had to grab the opportunity, 17:33 everything is God's and we can't say well, 17:38 this is our stuff over here and God, 17:40 this is Your stuff over here. 17:42 And this was an opportunity to rebroadcast 3ABN. 17:47 Yes. Yes. 17:48 Absolutely. 17:50 And this is so and so on there. 17:51 It's a digital TV Channel. 17:53 And so I'd like to read 17:55 something from Proverbs if I could. 17:56 Surely. 17:58 And this that also inspired us. 17:59 It says, "One man gives freely, get gains even more. 18:03 A generous man will prosper." 18:06 So these, these helped us out. 18:09 And another statement I like to read 18:10 from Prophets of Kings, 18:12 Ellen White says, 18:14 "When God opens the way for the accomplishment 18:17 of a certain work and gives assurance of success, 18:22 the chosen instrumentality must do all in his power 18:26 to bring about the promised result." 18:29 Okay. So the station is available. 18:32 Yes. You're inspired by scripture. 18:34 You're inspired by statements written by Ellen White. 18:38 And you all... 18:41 I love it when someone says, 18:43 we didn't think we had the time. 18:44 When your time was short on this window of opportunity. 18:48 So you had the faith to put in your own money 18:53 to scrape it together to put your own money, 18:56 put your money where your mouth is, right? 18:58 And you were successful with Kansas City. 19:01 Yes. 19:03 It went on the air in March 2015. 19:07 We're still trying to recover financially from that, 19:10 but that's okay. 19:11 God will provide. How many people were there? 19:14 Well, the coverage area is about 2 million people. 19:17 There's Kansas City Kansas 19:18 and the Kansas City Missouri right together. 19:20 So it was-- greatly surprised us that, 19:24 our first real project was big. 19:27 We thought it would start at very small 19:30 like little radio translators in small towns, 19:34 but God completely flipped it around, 19:36 it was quite a shock to us. 19:37 Well, especially it's just you and the two other gentlemen 19:40 from your church who've-- you all found it, 19:43 kind of co-founded this if you will. 19:44 Yes. Yes. 19:46 And you wanted to do something bigger than yourself 19:47 and the Lord certainly-- He... 19:50 Yes, He did. 19:51 It reminds me of the eagles nest. 19:52 You know, it kind of stirs up the eagles nest, 19:55 that momma eagles stirs it up 19:58 to make the eaglets uncomfortable 20:00 and they get out on the edge 20:01 and it's kind of like God stired you up, 20:03 got you on the edge of the nest 20:04 and then He just kicked you off 20:07 and then He came up underneath you 20:09 and He's really doing great things. 20:11 Amen. 20:13 So when you think that your first project 20:15 to be able to reach 2 million people 20:18 and is an amazing thing. 20:21 And as you said there's so many people 20:23 inside apartment buildings 20:26 or just behind gated communities 20:30 that you can't get to them, 20:31 to even give a flier 20:32 or invite them to an evangelistic series 20:35 but you could reach over the network. 20:36 And you know, Shelley, 20:38 we really felt touched by the 3ABN message. 20:40 You know the message to heal broken people. 20:43 You know there's so many broken people out there 20:44 just like we were. 20:46 Yes. 20:47 And God wants to heel them 20:49 and that's why we want to partner with 3ABN 20:52 because the programming and even the people 20:57 at the Kansas City station, 20:58 the other Christian station that we leased from, 21:01 they were watching the programming 21:03 and they were commenting 21:05 on what amazing programming there is, 21:08 it's for kids, it's for people of all ages, 21:10 there's healthy ways to cook, there's sermons, 21:13 everything that we want to embody in our ministry 21:18 and share with people, 3ABN has it. 21:21 Well... Amen. 21:23 It was actually the pastor of this ministry, 21:27 it's a charismatic ministry and the pastor of the church 21:30 told us that his people were watching our station. 21:34 The other channel. Our station. 21:36 They have a station too, but he told us that our people 21:38 are watching this 3ABN channel and that's incredible, 21:42 that's incredible. 21:44 You know and that's something that's important. 21:45 We have, of course, 21:46 we're available on Dish Network, 21:48 but then we have a number of downlinks 21:50 throughout the United States, but not everywhere. 21:52 And if people don't have the Dish, 21:54 then through this low power downlink station 21:57 they can get 3ABN basically as local programming 22:00 and that's exciting. 22:02 It's absolutely free. Absolutely. 22:03 It's totally free. You just need an antenna. 22:05 Kansas City admittedly has been very difficult. 22:08 It took us almost eight months to get on the air. 22:11 We have had... 22:13 That's a number of new beginnings. 22:14 Okay. 22:16 We've had a lot of technical problems. 22:18 We've had, has been wind damaged the tower, 22:22 to the station. 22:23 We had technical problems that took weeks to figure out 22:26 with the equipment. 22:28 Its' been really tough. 22:31 We've had some financial challenges. 22:32 We're still on the air, still going, God will provide. 22:36 Amen. Amen. 22:37 And you know that the devil is gonna try to stop 22:39 anything that you're doing. 22:40 But I think that God allows these challenges 22:43 so that we can be strengthened in our faith, 22:46 as you see Him help you overcome, you know, 22:50 challenge by challenge and it's kind of like 22:54 whatever is set before us as a challenge 22:58 God just makes it a stepping stone for us, 23:00 doesn't He? 23:01 He does. Amen. 23:03 And it was a huge stepping stone for us 23:04 and I'm glad for the difficulties 23:07 because it forced us to, 23:11 to a new level pleading with God 23:13 because we're way out of our league 23:15 on doing these things and we know that. 23:18 You are learning to depend on Him totally. 23:19 And it was a great, 23:21 it was a great training ground because, 23:23 for us to try to tackle our next project. 23:28 Now I want if we will. Let's, well, you start. 23:33 We know that Rob's got a great part of the testimony 23:37 for this next project. 23:38 So tell us about Denver. 23:41 After Kansas City got on the air, 23:44 we started praying and thinking about 23:48 what is our next target. 23:51 We found a broadcasting company that has stations and equipment 23:57 all over the country, 23:59 in many large cities 24:00 and those are just sitting there idle. 24:02 They are waiting for God's people. 24:04 Yes. 24:05 And we, so part of it because in our region. 24:10 We, we decided that Denver, 24:13 we like that to be our next target. 24:17 We started talking with this broadcasting company. 24:20 It's a real commercial company. 24:22 It's not a ministry like Kansas City. 24:24 We didn't think they would want to talk to us, 24:26 but to our great surprise they did by God's grace. 24:31 The interesting thing about Denver is that we knew that, 24:36 we had to sign a contract before we got the money. 24:39 Yes. 24:40 We knew we had to take a risk. 24:42 I don't know if it's all is gonna be like that. 24:44 I hope it's not. 24:45 But we knew with absolute certainty 24:48 that God was calling us to sign a contract first. 24:51 So in spring of 2015, especially May 24:56 we were started praying for a date, 24:59 when do we sign? 25:00 We had... 25:01 You have to put a date on a contract. 25:03 And in May we were impressed, May 2015, we were impressed. 25:08 July 1st, we thought what? 25:11 Why July 1st? 25:12 We had no idea what that meant. 25:15 And I said to him, we can't sign another contract. 25:18 We're not even funded in Kansas City. 25:20 We're limping along in Kansas City. 25:23 You know, it was a real prayer time 25:26 and faith building time for us 25:28 to be able to sign something and then let God work. 25:31 It's like putting your foot in the water, 25:34 in the waters of Jordan and watching the waters part, 25:37 but God wants us to do that initially. 25:39 He wants us to take that step of faith for him 25:43 and then we watch Him work. 25:45 And so now, let me ask this question. 25:47 Is HeReturns, is that a 501 C3 organization? 25:51 Yes. Okay. 25:53 So you were... 25:56 When we were saying it was you as founder 25:58 and a couple of other gentlemen, 26:00 are they still working as volunteer? 26:02 You all work as volunteers. Nobody gets paid. 26:03 Yes, we're all volunteers. 26:05 We have myself and the other two men. 26:07 We're the directors and officers at this time. 26:11 And yes we have our 501 C3. 26:14 We started applying for that in early 2011, 26:17 it took us 2 years, it was a nightmare. 26:19 The paperwork was really difficult. 26:22 It's all right. God has saw you through. 26:23 Well, the Lord saw you through. 26:24 It was really hard. 26:26 We didn't have any idea what we're doing, 26:27 but it took us 2 years. 26:28 God granted us that. 26:31 So when you're saying, 26:32 we assigned for this new contract. 26:36 This is, HeReturns as a 501 C3 organization. 26:39 Yes. 26:40 And were you... 26:42 I know that you all, the ones who have founded this 26:45 have put a lot of their personal funds into. 26:49 Yes. 26:50 Have you actually started receiving donations 26:53 from other people or were you still, 26:56 you're still kind of shouldering 26:58 that responsibility yourself? 26:59 We've received some. 27:01 We are struggling in Kansas City, 27:03 but we know that God did it. 27:05 Okay. 27:07 And we know that He will provide. 27:08 Amen. 27:09 So what are your call letters in Kansas City? 27:12 KGKC. KGKC. 27:15 Actually channel, channel 39.2. 27:17 39.2? Yes. 27:19 All right. 27:20 So and that's something that is beginning to pickup 27:23 and we just believe 27:25 that God's gonna bring in the supporters for that. 27:27 We're getting wonderful calls from people. 27:30 Praise the Lord. That they are very excited. 27:32 They love the --. 27:34 It's 3ABN is an awesome network. 27:37 We think so too. Amen. 27:39 And we give God, I don't say that with any, any type of... 27:43 We don't take any credit for it. 27:45 God gets all the glories. 27:46 Danny always says, 27:47 He gets the glory for everything that's good 27:49 and anything that's messed up we know it was us. 27:52 That's right. It's all about God. 27:55 We get a lot of joy. Amen. 27:57 We get joy, so there's some... 27:59 But now suddenly you're present with the opportunity 28:01 to sign another contract. 28:03 You jump out there and you decided to sign. 28:05 Yes. 28:06 Because, I shouldn't say you decide to sign. 28:08 You actually feel impressed, strongly impressed to sign. 28:14 Yeah, we believe God gave us a date, July 1st. 28:18 And so in early July we did sign the contract. 28:22 I was honest with this broadcasting company 28:26 and I told them until we sign the contract, 28:30 we're not gonna get the money. 28:31 They didn't really like that, 28:33 but that's the way 28:34 God called us to do at this time 28:38 and He has granted us favor in their eyes. 28:42 The amazing thing about this is, 28:45 what then happened with Rob. 28:48 In the spring of 2015, 28:51 we had been at a regional ASI meeting in Kansas City 28:55 and that's where Rob met the Eden Valley people. 28:59 So in May he moves to the Denver area. 29:03 Here we're trying to get Denver on the air. 29:08 We signed a contract in the early July 29:12 and then I get a call from Rob in July 2015. 29:16 And could you tell us the story there? 29:18 I sure can. 29:20 So I'm out here at Eden Valley 29:22 and of course, I was very, very busy 29:24 and focused on the ministry there. 29:27 And Eden Valley is in Loveland 29:29 which is about what 60 miles from Denver? 29:32 Yes, I would say so, 29:33 about an hour of half North of Denver. 29:35 Just right outside of the city in a beautiful little valley. 29:38 And I'm thinking to myself, well, you know, 29:41 we just signed the contract for this. 29:43 I wonder if there's anything I can do in my small way 29:47 to support the ministry out here. 29:50 So I had heard that 29:52 there's going to be a religious gathering 29:54 of some of the Adventists in Colorado, 29:57 we call it camp meeting. 29:59 And I thought well, maybe this would be 30:03 a great opportunity to try and rally support for this. 30:06 So I start doing a little digging. 30:08 This was maybe a couple of weeks 30:09 before the camp meeting 30:10 and I thought well, 30:12 I'll call the people in-charge of the camp meeting 30:14 to see if they have an opening or something like that 30:16 where I could share. 30:18 So I called one of the guys and I found, and he said, 30:23 you know, there's a lot of ministries 30:24 that want to present their ministry at this thing 30:28 to try and get support. 30:29 We can't do it 30:31 because if we said yes to you, 30:32 we'd have to say yes to everyone. 30:33 Yes. Of course. 30:35 So I thought okay, well, 30:38 it seems like that door is kind of closed 30:40 and it wasn't until a few days later, 30:43 you know, of course there's that saying 30:44 that when God shuts the door, He opens a window. 30:46 Amen. Right. 30:47 I thought well maybe it's true in this case too. 30:50 So I saw some council and the advice 30:54 was just to do anything I can in a small way. 30:57 So what I was able to do was, 30:59 I able to get a booth section at that Christian meeting. 31:03 And of course, the guy said, come and, you know, 31:07 come set-up early and bring all the materials 31:09 that you have to be able to present this. 31:12 And my dad of course, last 31:14 because we didn't have any materials. 31:17 None of us are graphic designers 31:19 and we just made a logo. 31:20 It was a big step for us. 31:22 So this is Friday afternoon and of course, 31:26 I'm supposed to be at the meeting at... 31:28 I believe it was 4 o'clock and it's about 3.30 31:32 and I'm thinking, I know I can make something. 31:37 It doesn't have to be a rocket science, 31:38 but, so I called my dad and said, 31:42 hey, dad, you know we should just come up 31:44 with something simple build, 31:45 we able to get out the word out to people 31:46 and somehow just be able to present this. 31:48 So we got on Microsoft Word. 31:50 He, since he's an IT person, 31:52 he knows how to remotely connect to my computer. 31:55 So I spend about half an hour just going back and forth 31:58 and doing that and turned it in. 32:00 And you're creating a HeRetuns flier, right? 32:02 That's right, exactly so. 32:04 So we got that... 32:07 We got that designed and now I'm thinking, 32:09 okay, well, I just go print if off really quick 32:11 and then head to the meeting. 32:14 But, oh, my, it was quite a challenge 32:17 trying to get the printer to work. 32:19 I never used the printer before at Eden Valley. 32:21 It's one of the big industrial printers 32:23 and I'm just an intern. 32:25 I don't have passwords to computers, 32:26 all that kind of thing. 32:28 So I thought okay, well, this won't be too hard. 32:30 I'll just call and find out what the password is, 32:33 find out if there's any other details. 32:35 Well, I called... 32:37 Well, first I tried to find someone actually. 32:39 Everyone's gone out to a birthday party. 32:42 And it was a nightmare, 32:43 especially, on Friday afternoon 32:44 when everyone's preparing for Sabbath 32:46 and things like that. 32:47 It was a nightmare trying to find anybody. 32:49 So I-- after much difficulty 32:52 there was three or four different things 32:54 where I had to call, hang up, 32:55 call someone back, 32:57 all this didn't work, where's this? 32:58 Call, hang back and eventually I was able to do it. 33:02 So headed to the camp meeting 33:04 and started passing out these fliers. 33:06 You know, people are very, very excited. 33:08 And a lot of these people have heard about 3ABN before 33:10 and I thought and they just said, 33:12 wow, this is wonderful. 33:13 We can get 3ABN in Denver. 33:16 So and then that's when a man named Jim Burr, 33:19 walked over and he actually... 33:22 He's been for a long time trying to get radio in Denver 33:26 for many, many years 33:28 and he's got to raise a lot of money 33:30 to build the tower for the radio. 33:32 The Adventist radio, correct? 33:34 That's right. 33:35 And by the way if you're 33:36 interested in supporting mass media 33:38 his' is another good thing to look into 33:40 if you're in the Denver area 33:42 and wanting some radio who will listen to. 33:43 Amen. 33:45 So after talking with him he's excited. 33:47 He's been wanting to do 33:48 something this for many, many years 33:50 and he says, you know, let's support this. 33:52 I know some people. 33:53 You know, maybe we can get the funds for this 33:55 in the next week or so. 33:57 And let me interject one thing because Jim Burr, 33:59 some people are probably thinking I know that name, 34:01 who is that? 34:02 And that you will be familiar with him. 34:04 He does the Heavens Declare the Glory of God 34:07 and he does spots here. 34:09 And we're excited because he's gonna be doing 34:11 enough series on 3ABN. 34:12 Wonderful. 34:14 On the Heavens Declare so, go ahead, so... 34:16 He's excited. He gets you excited. 34:19 Yes. 34:20 Now we're just passing out fliers left and right. 34:22 Many of them going out, 34:24 I think I put it off 200 fliers or so 34:25 for this meeting 34:27 and after that something else happened 34:30 that was a real miracle. 34:32 A person came over to me. 34:33 One of the guys who had said, no, 34:35 you can't present ministry here 34:37 and tell about what you're doing, 34:38 he says, "you know what, 34:40 we changed our mind, we're gonna give you a spot." 34:41 Amen. 34:43 And that was just a breath of fresh air to me. 34:45 So that afternoon I told about 34:46 what we were doing at the meeting 34:48 and everyone seemed very excited 34:50 and a short time after I found out 34:53 that all the money had been raised 34:55 in order to start this station. 34:57 That's right. 34:58 $5,600 which was a lot for a person like me 35:01 doing with it all of us. 35:03 Oh, praise the Lord. 35:04 He called me that afternoon, it was a Saturday afternoon. 35:07 He said, "Dad, we have the funding for Denver." 35:10 I was stunned. 35:13 I was absolutely stunned. 35:15 And God did a miracle. He arranged all this. 35:19 He moves my son to a different state 35:22 and gives us an exact day to sign, 35:26 sends him to the camp meeting, arranges everything, 35:29 it's a miracle. 35:30 And... 35:32 Now let me ask you though. 35:33 You know when God did a miracle opening, 35:36 parting the Red Sea 35:38 and as they crossed over in the Exodus, 35:43 they didn't... 35:44 Even though God had performed a miracle... 35:47 They found some serious challenges when they got over. 35:50 Yes. 35:52 Has it been the same experience for you 35:53 even though God has done this miracle 35:55 and there's no doubt He did for Denver. 35:58 But has it been the same for you 36:00 that you still had some challenges, 36:02 you still had some uphill battles too? 36:04 Yes, it is true. Okay. 36:06 The equipment is installed. 36:08 It's on every week, we're having technical challenges. 36:11 We're having some issues with reception. 36:16 I try to encourage people to remember 36:17 that God directed in this. 36:21 It was clearly 36:22 that He directed us in this area to Denver 36:25 and He did an obvious miracle of arranging all these events 36:29 even arranging for Rob to move to different state. 36:34 God will provide. 36:36 In fact, one of our inspirational verses 36:38 is Job 42:2. 36:41 And it says, "I know that you can do all things, 36:43 no plan of yours can be thwarted." 36:46 Amen. 36:48 God has a plan and He will provide. 36:51 And there are many other cities that we want to go to. 36:55 Absolutely. 36:57 So tell us about some of the future plans. 36:59 Well, again this, this company 37:01 that we connected with for Denver 37:02 has stations all over the country 37:06 and many large cities 37:08 that don't have Adventist mass media yet. 37:13 The equipment is just sitting there 37:14 and that God owns that equipment, 37:16 God owns everything. 37:18 It is His equipment and he's waiting for his people 37:23 to come and take that equipment so we can finish the mission. 37:28 We started targeting the cities. 37:32 We're doing this right now, 37:33 targeting the cities of Chicago, 37:37 Atlanta and Miami, those are major cities. 37:40 But the station equipment is just sitting there idle. 37:45 So we contacted 37:47 this broadcasting company about this again. 37:50 We started talk to him about it and then in August 2015, 37:54 I get a very strange email 37:58 and a man said, "I want to help." 38:02 'Cause I'm not quite sure about the man but he said, 38:04 we're cancelling all the deposits 38:07 that we normally require for these three cities. 38:10 Wow. 38:12 Tens of thousands of dollars of deposits, they just, 38:15 they just cancelled them. 38:17 All we would need is the monthly amount. 38:19 We did, yeah... 38:21 So this is basically... 38:22 Are you renting or leasing the station? 38:25 Yes. You're leasing the station. 38:26 The model that God is giving us right now 38:28 is to lease what technically it's called 38:31 a digital sub channel. 38:33 Okay. We're very tiny team. 38:38 One engineer who is new to broadcasting, 38:42 but this model is very efficient 38:43 because even a tiny group of people can be used by God 38:48 to do mass media in large cities. 38:50 To start off. 38:51 I know when you think of just this tiny little group, 38:55 but here you started off in Kansas City 39:00 and reach a couple of million people. 39:01 That's amazing. 39:03 I mean, it's a brilliant... 39:05 Well, we, Shelley, we feel if we even reach 39:06 one person that's worth all the effort. 39:09 Amen. Amen. 39:10 'Cause we don't want... 39:11 You know Jesus doesn't want any soul to be lost. 39:13 Absolutely. 39:15 And there are stories of people turning, 39:17 flipping through the channels, 39:19 finding that channel by accident of 3ABN... 39:24 Devine, huh. 39:25 And having their lives being changed. 39:26 You know that. 39:28 You hear the stories all the time. 39:29 All the time. Yes. 39:30 So... 39:32 And with those three large cities for less then, 39:35 about $19,000... 39:37 And which three large cities? 39:38 This is Chicago, Atlanta and Miami for about $19,000 39:43 we can get on air and these are large cities. 39:47 -- has over 3 million. Yeah. 39:51 It could be 5, 6 million Somewhere other, 39:53 they are all large cities. 39:55 And we also, we also contacted them to see 40:00 if they have more then channel available. 40:02 We are committed 40:03 also to spreading 3ABN Latino also. 40:08 And so we actually have, you know, 40:12 there's so many 10s and millions 40:14 of precious Spanish speaking people in this country. 40:17 And God wants everyone of them. Amen. 40:19 Not one to be lost. 40:20 So but we actually in a Spring of 2015, signed, 40:25 already signed a contract in Kansas City 40:27 for another channel, for 3ABN Latino TV. 40:31 The equipment is ready to go. 40:33 Everything is in place, 40:35 we're just waiting on funding for that. 40:37 We also want to put up 3ABN Latino TV in Chicago 40:44 and Atlanta and Miami. 40:46 They have large number 40:48 of Spanish speaking people millions. 40:51 And Denver. Yes. 40:52 Yes, absolutely. 40:54 And because they cut our startup cost 40:57 basically in half for-- 40:59 we can do another set of channels 41:01 in those three cities for about $19,000 which is... 41:05 Praise the Lord. 41:07 Would that be your monthly sum? 41:09 That would be startup cost. Okay. 41:12 The monthly would be slightly under that 41:14 about around at 17, 18,000 dollar range 41:17 for all three cities. 41:19 But then, what an amazing opportunity 41:21 to reach that many people. 41:22 Many millions of people. 41:24 There's also many, some stations in Puerto Rico 41:26 that are available. 41:28 God loves all the people in Puerto Rico. 41:31 And I want to make sure we mentioned that. 41:34 Just recently we added, 41:36 if you go to our website HeReturns.org. 41:39 We have a tab on there for music. 41:41 So we have Spanish speaking individual 41:45 that's joined our team 41:46 and we're so excited about Annabel 41:48 and her music ministry. 41:50 So we plan on going to churches, 41:53 going wherever the Lord calls us 41:55 to tell that He returns story 41:57 through not only telling the story 41:59 but through her sacred music concerts. 42:02 So that's another aspect we've added to our team 42:05 and we're really excited about Annabel, so... 42:09 How has this with all in the family 42:13 involved and excited. 42:15 What has God done to you 42:16 personally through this experience? 42:19 I would love to speak to that first. 42:21 Please. 42:22 You know, there's an aspect of studying together, 42:27 praying together, having an one mindedness 42:31 that binds a Christian family together 42:33 like nothing else can. 42:35 Yes. 42:36 And as one of the children of the family 42:38 I have just enjoyed to see my parents brought together 42:42 as they work together, us brought together, 42:44 as father and son, mother and son, 42:46 all three of us, it's just been wonderful. 42:49 Praise the Lord. 42:50 Even when Rob was in high school we were doing, 42:53 we're going out 42:55 and doing multimedia prophecy seminars together. 42:58 And not that many kids in high school 43:00 are doing something like that. 43:02 We love to do that together. 43:03 Amen. 43:04 I think that thing it's done for me 43:06 the most is to realize how awesome our God we serve 43:10 and that we can not limit Him. 43:11 He is powerless. 43:13 And if you think that you're in a situation 43:17 that there's no hope for, you know, you're not. 43:21 God can do amazing things. 43:24 And you know supporting ministry 43:26 is going out there to serve. 43:28 We encourage you that if God lays something 43:29 on your heart to go out 43:31 and do what God wants you to do 43:33 because like John said, the time is short, 43:36 we need to spread God's message 43:38 of how He loves every single person 43:41 and He wants to heal every single relationship, 43:44 every single person 43:46 from the effects of sin in their lives 43:49 and then, you know, go, go out there and do, 43:53 like your Go Evangelism. 43:55 Go out there and do 43:56 what the Lord places on your heart. 44:00 You know He will perform miracles. 44:03 You take that little mustard seed 44:05 and he can move mountains. 44:07 And indeed the blessing is on the go, 44:10 there's no question about that. 44:12 So you do go to, you do seminars, 44:15 you speak and you encourage. 44:18 Tell us a little of your speaking ministry. 44:20 Are you traveling it?
