I want to spend my life 00:00:01.36\00:00:04.83 Spend my life 00:00:04.87\00:00:07.24 Mending broken people 00:00:07.27\00:00:12.14 I want to spend my life 00:00:12.17\00:00:18.41 Removing pain 00:00:18.45\00:00:23.52 Lord, let my words 00:00:23.55\00:00:27.06 Let my words 00:00:27.09\00:00:29.72 Heal a heart that hurts 00:00:29.76\00:00:34.16 I want spend my life 00:00:34.20\00:00:40.24 Mending broken people 00:00:40.27\00:00:45.41 I want to spend my life 00:00:45.44\00:00:51.05 Mending broken people 00:00:51.08\00:00:54.68 Hello and welcome to "3ABN Today." 00:01:06.86\00:01:09.56 My name is C.A. Murray and allow me once again 00:01:09.60\00:01:11.53 to thank you for sharing just a little of your day with us, 00:01:11.57\00:01:15.00 to thank you for your prayers, your support of this ministry, 00:01:15.04\00:01:17.91 and for all that you do to help us 00:01:17.94\00:01:19.81 do what we are called to do. 00:01:19.84\00:01:21.51 And that's to lift up the mighty 00:01:21.54\00:01:22.91 and matchless name of Jesus. 00:01:22.94\00:01:24.41 I'm excited today for number of reasons. 00:01:24.45\00:01:26.15 One, I like and I used the term, 00:01:26.18\00:01:30.12 alternative ministries or out of the box ministries 00:01:30.15\00:01:34.59 or non-traditional ministries. 00:01:34.62\00:01:37.83 I like the idea that God is calling in these last days, 00:01:37.86\00:01:41.06 men and women of considerable talent to use those talents 00:01:41.10\00:01:44.53 for the lifting up of the kingdom of God. 00:01:44.57\00:01:47.60 All other ministries not being done in the pulpit, 00:01:47.64\00:01:50.81 in fact, I dare more ministry is done 00:01:50.84\00:01:52.54 outside of the pulpit than in the pulpit. 00:01:52.57\00:01:54.68 And God is using particular niche ministries. 00:01:54.71\00:01:58.71 He's calling people to do what they can do to take Christ 00:01:58.75\00:02:01.78 to areas that He may not normally be found. 00:02:01.82\00:02:05.09 And what one of those persons is Chris Lang. 00:02:05.12\00:02:08.12 Chris, Good to have you here. 00:02:08.16\00:02:09.49 Yeah, it's pleasure to be here, sir. 00:02:09.52\00:02:10.86 Good looking guy and he is, he is a film maker. 00:02:10.89\00:02:15.20 And I like the idea, I'm very impressed 00:02:15.23\00:02:17.07 that God is using film along with other kinds of ministries 00:02:17.10\00:02:22.04 to tell people about Jesus Christ. 00:02:22.07\00:02:23.61 We are a visual, video population now. 00:02:23.64\00:02:28.04 We are in that age when people want to see it even more than 00:02:28.08\00:02:30.95 they want to read it or want to hear it. 00:02:30.98\00:02:33.31 And so God is calling people out of the world 00:02:33.35\00:02:35.52 and into His kingdom, to lift up Jesus 00:02:35.55\00:02:37.82 and to take Jesus back to that same world 00:02:37.85\00:02:40.36 and put it before the eyes, the ears, the hearts, 00:02:40.39\00:02:43.39 the minds of people who need to hear about Jesus. 00:02:43.43\00:02:45.83 And Chris is one of those guys doing precisely that. 00:02:45.86\00:02:47.76 Good to have you here, man. 00:02:47.80\00:02:49.13 Thank you, C.A. 00:02:49.16\00:02:50.50 Before we go to our music, 00:02:50.53\00:02:51.87 I want to get a little background on you. 00:02:51.90\00:02:53.23 Where are you from? 00:02:53.27\00:02:54.60 I'm originally from Homeland de California. 00:02:54.64\00:02:55.97 Aha, Adventist ghetto there, I say. 00:02:56.00\00:02:57.34 Yes, sir. That's right. 00:02:57.37\00:02:59.07 Did you grow in the church, Adventist family? 00:02:59.11\00:03:00.48 Yes, yes, I grew up 00:03:00.51\00:03:01.84 in an Adventist Christian family. 00:03:01.88\00:03:03.38 I've got three siblings. I grew up in a musical family. 00:03:03.41\00:03:06.65 My mother was a music teacher, a choir director. 00:03:06.68\00:03:09.72 And I had a sensitivity for the word of God 00:03:09.75\00:03:12.02 at a very young age. 00:03:12.05\00:03:13.39 Aha, praise the Lord. 00:03:13.42\00:03:14.76 Now out of the three, where are you in that group? 00:03:14.79\00:03:16.22 I'm the baby. 00:03:16.26\00:03:17.59 Aha, the baby. 00:03:17.63\00:03:19.49 If you read some of the things on kids, 00:03:19.53\00:03:24.93 particularly the baby, tends to be 00:03:24.97\00:03:26.90 the one that can go off in any direction, you know. 00:03:26.94\00:03:29.80 You may have the first two sort of following 00:03:29.84\00:03:32.47 and the third one can do anything. 00:03:32.51\00:03:35.48 That's the one that kind of surprises. 00:03:35.51\00:03:36.85 Sometimes, great thing's good, sometimes great thing's bad. 00:03:36.88\00:03:40.32 But you never tell how that last one is going to go. 00:03:40.35\00:03:44.49 When did it occur to you that you needed 00:03:44.52\00:03:47.59 or you had a personal Savior? 00:03:47.62\00:03:48.96 At what point did you saw the lock down on Jesus? 00:03:48.99\00:03:51.89 You know, C.A., My journey started very young. 00:03:51.93\00:03:56.10 And I think the sensitivity about a Savior 00:03:56.13\00:03:59.33 who died for me and who came to create a future, 00:03:59.37\00:04:04.77 a future hope for my life and a purpose 00:04:04.81\00:04:08.08 for my personal life really happened in this context 00:04:08.11\00:04:10.95 when my parents told me my birth story. 00:04:10.98\00:04:13.65 And we have a short little clip that actually helps illustrate 00:04:13.68\00:04:19.29 the way that God reached down 00:04:19.32\00:04:20.99 into the darkness to save my life. 00:04:21.02\00:04:22.69 Praise the Lord. Let's take a look. 00:04:22.72\00:04:24.06 My mother had a miscarriage. 00:04:35.34\00:04:38.57 What she did know was that she had twins. 00:04:38.61\00:04:43.01 I was that other twin, still inside her womb. 00:04:43.04\00:04:47.25 Now there was no ultrasound in those days 00:04:47.28\00:04:49.78 and she continued to have bleeding and discomfort. 00:04:49.82\00:04:53.76 So her doctor used ringed forceps 00:04:53.79\00:04:55.96 to remove her ineffective IUD. 00:04:55.99\00:04:59.39 Then he used the forceps to reach in, grasp, 00:04:59.43\00:05:02.50 and remove any loose material he could from her womb. 00:05:02.53\00:05:06.94 Last, he gave her five days of the drug Methergine. 00:05:06.97\00:05:11.37 Methergine causes the uterus 00:05:11.41\00:05:13.07 to expel remaining birth tissues, 00:05:13.11\00:05:15.54 to minimize bleeding and risk of infection. 00:05:15.58\00:05:19.01 But her stomach kept growing. 00:05:19.05\00:05:21.18 And several doctors didn't believe 00:05:21.22\00:05:23.18 it was a normal pregnancy. 00:05:23.22\00:05:25.19 So mom wanted whatever it was, surgically removed. 00:05:25.22\00:05:29.82 Fortunately for me, her OB doctor urged her to wait. 00:05:29.86\00:05:34.76 I guess you could say, I survived a miscarriage 00:05:34.80\00:05:38.03 and an abortion. 00:05:38.07\00:05:39.43 Well, impressive, man. Yeah, well done. 00:05:54.92\00:05:57.65 This was uh, this was sort of the foundation 00:05:57.69\00:06:01.66 of the way the Lord showed me 00:06:01.69\00:06:03.32 that I know you by name. 00:06:03.36\00:06:04.69 Yes. 00:06:04.73\00:06:06.06 And Psalm 139 says that "He planned every day 00:06:06.09\00:06:07.96 in your life before there's one of them." 00:06:08.00\00:06:09.60 Yes, yes. 00:06:09.63\00:06:10.97 And of course, the famous verse, 00:06:11.00\00:06:12.33 that "You covered me in my mother's womb." 00:06:12.37\00:06:13.70 In my mother's womb, yeah. 00:06:13.74\00:06:15.20 It's an amazing reflection that I want to live 00:06:15.24\00:06:19.37 every moment to thank the Lord for the chance to live. 00:06:19.41\00:06:22.84 I should have had missing limbs, arms legs, fingers 00:06:22.88\00:06:25.75 and toes with those forceps coming in and when that doctor 00:06:25.78\00:06:29.12 was pulling out all that birth material, 00:06:29.15\00:06:30.82 there's no way that the doctors 00:06:30.85\00:06:32.45 could have known she was still pregnant 00:06:32.49\00:06:33.86 because there was no ultrasound in those days. 00:06:33.89\00:06:36.32 Sure. 00:06:36.36\00:06:37.69 And the doctor actually emailed me a couple of years ago. 00:06:37.73\00:06:40.46 His name is Dr. Richard Paul. He's retired now. 00:06:40.50\00:06:43.13 And he remembers my case. 00:06:43.16\00:06:45.63 He was responsible for over 300, 000 00:06:45.67\00:06:48.30 baby deliveries in his career 00:06:48.34\00:06:50.14 as the chief of OB at LA County Hospital. 00:06:50.17\00:06:53.34 He says, your case remains unique. 00:06:53.38\00:06:55.91 And he remembers collapsing in the exam chair 00:06:55.94\00:06:58.18 next to the exam table when he heard 00:06:58.21\00:06:59.81 my heart beat for the first time. 00:06:59.85\00:07:01.42 Powerful, powerful. 00:07:01.45\00:07:02.78 But praise God for life. 00:07:02.82\00:07:04.15 How old were you when you were given the understanding 00:07:04.19\00:07:05.75 of your circumstances of your birth? 00:07:05.79\00:07:08.02 I was probably, I didn't understand it at the time, 00:07:08.06\00:07:11.13 seven, eight years old. 00:07:11.16\00:07:12.53 Yeah, you can't process all that in, right, yeah. 00:07:12.56\00:07:14.36 But in my early adulthood after college, 00:07:14.40\00:07:16.93 when I started on the journey of looking, praying, 00:07:16.97\00:07:20.87 "God, what do you want me to do?" 00:07:20.90\00:07:22.90 Got into the business world 00:07:22.94\00:07:24.47 and it was in the large corporate setting, 00:07:24.51\00:07:26.07 small business settings, 00:07:26.11\00:07:27.44 running my own business for a period of time. 00:07:27.48\00:07:29.74 And in this wilderness of life and going through 00:07:29.78\00:07:34.18 some disappointment, finding out that God even, 00:07:34.22\00:07:37.49 you know, He's more concerned, 00:07:37.52\00:07:39.59 just as concerned with your broken heart, 00:07:39.62\00:07:42.69 your disappointment as He is with life and matters. 00:07:42.72\00:07:45.66 And so He met me there as well. 00:07:45.69\00:07:47.53 And I think it was in that context 00:07:47.56\00:07:49.16 of my early adulthood when the story of my birth 00:07:49.20\00:07:52.30 actually started to scream out loud. 00:07:52.33\00:07:54.74 You know, praise the Lord 00:07:54.77\00:07:56.10 with your life and give Him everything. 00:07:56.14\00:07:58.07 Praise God. 00:07:58.11\00:07:59.44 I'm gonna tell another story later about another promise 00:07:59.47\00:08:01.38 I made to God to save my life. 00:08:01.41\00:08:03.14 Excellent. 00:08:03.18\00:08:05.21 You touched on it and a sensitivity 00:08:05.25\00:08:07.72 to the Lord at an early age. 00:08:07.75\00:08:09.48 So for me the logical question is, 00:08:09.52\00:08:12.45 did you kind of play it straight all through 00:08:12.49\00:08:14.22 or did you kind of have wilderness years, you know, 00:08:14.26\00:08:16.39 did you and most people do, many people do, 00:08:16.42\00:08:20.26 did you follow that path or you kind of, 00:08:20.30\00:08:22.70 did you kind of stay straight the whole time? 00:08:22.73\00:08:24.73 You know, I tell people, I wouldn't say 00:08:24.77\00:08:27.37 that I have any kind of dramatic Prodigal Son story. 00:08:27.40\00:08:30.37 But at the same time, you know, the devil can seen 00:08:30.41\00:08:33.24 in the unseen realms of the fourdimension 00:08:33.27\00:08:36.51 and he knows the once who have a heart for God. 00:08:36.54\00:08:39.91 And so he's tried to destroy me throughout my life 00:08:39.95\00:08:43.12 and did ultimately go through a painful divorce at one point. 00:08:43.15\00:08:47.89 But God met me in that place and He took something 00:08:47.92\00:08:50.99 that was broken and He made something beautiful out of it. 00:08:51.03\00:08:54.16 And it was out of that wilderness experience 00:08:54.20\00:08:57.43 that God lead me into media production on full time basis. 00:08:57.47\00:09:02.17 It was a platform to help 00:09:02.20\00:09:03.64 to offer hope to hurting people. 00:09:03.67\00:09:05.94 And I'll share a few of those projects that we worked 00:09:05.97\00:09:08.98 on to help, offer hope to the people out there. 00:09:09.01\00:09:11.51 Now you are a West Coast guy, California guy, 00:09:11.55\00:09:14.22 60 miles or so, east of LA, was the media, 00:09:14.25\00:09:18.49 movie thing kind of always in your DNA 00:09:18.52\00:09:20.56 or was that something you developed later on life? 00:09:20.59\00:09:22.76 That's a good question, C.A. 00:09:22.79\00:09:24.13 I loved cameras from the time I was a kid. 00:09:24.16\00:09:27.36 And I loved the Bible even earlier than cameras. 00:09:27.40\00:09:32.83 And the stories of the Bible were very vivid to me. 00:09:32.87\00:09:36.84 So yeah, I loved cameras. 00:09:36.87\00:09:39.01 I loved playing with them every time. 00:09:39.04\00:09:41.74 And also the fascination with production 00:09:41.78\00:09:44.25 and how it all fit together. 00:09:44.28\00:09:45.95 Stories, I loved stories. 00:09:45.98\00:09:48.52 There was a, one of our films was showing on TV. 00:09:48.55\00:09:50.75 I got a call from my aunt recently and she said, 00:09:50.79\00:09:53.76 "Hey, I started laughing out loud when I saw your film." 00:09:53.79\00:09:57.43 I said, "Why is that, Aunt Maureen? 00:09:57.46\00:09:59.23 She said, "Well, because I remembered you 00:09:59.26\00:10:01.10 as a four year old. 00:10:01.13\00:10:02.46 You were the one that walked around with a hair brush 00:10:02.50\00:10:04.07 trying to interview everyone in the room." 00:10:04.10\00:10:07.17 You know, so God apparently wired into my DNA. 00:10:07.20\00:10:11.37 For those who are watching, who are wondering, you know, 00:10:11.41\00:10:14.24 what is your plan for me Lord, what do you want me to do. 00:10:14.28\00:10:18.38 Really thinking and praying over your childhood 00:10:18.41\00:10:20.52 and the things you dreamed about, 00:10:20.62\00:10:21.95 the things that you play, even games 00:10:21.98\00:10:23.32 that you play can be very helpful in sensing 00:10:23.35\00:10:27.62 what it is that Lord created you to do. 00:10:27.66\00:10:29.56 I, once said, look at the things 00:10:29.59\00:10:30.93 that come natural to you. 00:10:30.96\00:10:32.36 The things that you are gifted for, 00:10:32.39\00:10:33.73 the things that you began to do in your early years, 00:10:33.76\00:10:36.40 at the intersection of natural talents and gifts 00:10:36.43\00:10:38.93 and your love for Christ, that's where you ought to be. 00:10:38.97\00:10:41.97 That's where you are planted and that's where you grow. 00:10:42.00\00:10:45.57 Having said that, 00:10:45.61\00:10:49.64 was media, well, let me ask this question. 00:10:49.68\00:10:52.45 Was it always in your mind to produce films 00:10:52.48\00:10:56.35 or just television, because there was a time 00:10:56.38\00:11:00.92 when we as a church say, stay away from media. 00:11:00.96\00:11:04.83 Stay out of that arena 'cause God's not there. 00:11:04.86\00:11:07.90 Was there dissonance in your life 00:11:07.93\00:11:09.73 because you got this natural bent? 00:11:09.76\00:11:11.57 Or could you see or did the Lord give you 00:11:11.60\00:11:13.44 a vision that hey, I can use this stuff 00:11:13.47\00:11:16.10 for the up building of the kingdom? 00:11:16.14\00:11:17.51 Yeah. 00:11:17.54\00:11:18.87 I think I withheld 00:11:18.91\00:11:21.48 the out working of this opportunity 00:11:21.51\00:11:23.88 for a period of time until I could learn 00:11:23.91\00:11:27.22 some things in life, particularly, 00:11:27.25\00:11:29.48 growing understanding, a knowledge of His word 00:11:29.52\00:11:32.65 and a personal experience with my Creator 00:11:32.69\00:11:36.02 that would ground me to the point 00:11:36.06\00:11:38.29 that I would not be, when you serve the Lord, 00:11:38.33\00:11:42.06 sometimes you work on a shoestring budget 00:11:42.10\00:11:44.50 and you don't always have a lot of financial support 00:11:44.53\00:11:48.50 from the world to do what you are called to do. 00:11:48.54\00:11:50.77 And I think that endurance, you know, 00:11:50.81\00:11:52.47 like Moses endured as him who saw the invisible. 00:11:52.51\00:11:57.01 I needed to have the personal context, 00:11:57.05\00:11:58.95 I think before the Lord lead me into my ultimate desire. 00:11:58.98\00:12:02.32 Understood. 00:12:02.35\00:12:03.69 And to take the love of the Bible 00:12:03.72\00:12:05.55 and take the love of media and have this perfect storm 00:12:05.59\00:12:08.69 come together in a way that God, it would honor God 00:12:08.72\00:12:12.16 as opposed to film my own personal desires, you know. 00:12:12.19\00:12:15.26 Yeah, yeah. 00:12:15.30\00:12:16.63 Like the Psalms say, you know, make the Lord, 00:12:16.67\00:12:18.83 the desire of your heart. 00:12:18.87\00:12:20.20 He will give you every thing else. 00:12:20.24\00:12:21.57 Yeah, yeah. 00:12:21.60\00:12:22.94 I think that's crucial. 00:12:22.97\00:12:24.31 And I like what you said because without that grounding, 00:12:24.34\00:12:27.18 you are in an arena that can take you far afield. 00:12:27.21\00:12:30.11 You know, there's money to be made 00:12:30.15\00:12:32.25 doing what you do, away from God. 00:12:32.28\00:12:34.88 So one, you need the grounding to stay focused 00:12:34.92\00:12:38.02 on your mission and two, when offers come 00:12:38.05\00:12:44.29 and people see your work and they say, 00:12:44.33\00:12:45.89 "Well, hey, here some bucks do on this." 00:12:45.93\00:12:47.93 You can say, "No, I'm going over here 00:12:47.96\00:12:49.50 'cause this is where God is leading me." 00:12:49.53\00:12:50.87 Right. 00:12:50.90\00:12:52.23 So you need that first before you begin 00:12:52.27\00:12:53.60 to build your super structure, you need that foundation. 00:12:53.64\00:12:55.64 Obviously, you waited till you got that 00:12:55.67\00:12:57.17 before you ventured out. 00:12:57.21\00:12:58.54 Yeah. Yeah. 00:12:58.57\00:12:59.91 Yeah, and also the other thing I would tell people 00:12:59.94\00:13:02.54 from my own experiences. 00:13:02.58\00:13:03.91 It's been fascinating to see how everything 00:13:03.95\00:13:06.92 in my past business career, nothing's been wasted. 00:13:06.95\00:13:10.59 In God's economy nothing is wasted. 00:13:10.62\00:13:13.82 The business career, the accounting, 00:13:13.86\00:13:15.86 the finance background, the marketing skills, 00:13:15.89\00:13:18.56 all of those things, ministries are also businesses. 00:13:18.59\00:13:21.60 And so many ministries start 00:13:21.63\00:13:23.47 without having a structure in place. 00:13:23.50\00:13:25.00 Yes. 00:13:25.03\00:13:26.37 So I praise God that I had a business background 00:13:26.40\00:13:28.60 and when God lead me into ministry, 00:13:28.64\00:13:30.67 there was a certain structure that took place with prayer. 00:13:30.71\00:13:33.44 Yeah. 00:13:33.48\00:13:34.81 And that's been a huge blessing. 00:13:34.84\00:13:37.11 Praise the Lord. 00:13:37.15\00:13:38.48 So the actual soup to nuts 00:13:38.51\00:13:39.95 technical abilities of making films, 00:13:39.98\00:13:42.38 that's part of what God gave me the experience in doing. 00:13:42.42\00:13:48.06 You asked me how did I start, did I just dive right in 00:13:48.09\00:13:50.63 and do film or did it start with television 00:13:50.66\00:13:52.79 and the quick answer 00:13:52.83\00:13:54.26 is the first thing that I did was, 00:13:54.30\00:13:56.30 my local church invited me to help start a talk show. 00:13:56.33\00:13:59.43 Very cool. 00:13:59.47\00:14:00.80 For young adults. 00:14:00.84\00:14:02.17 And it was called 00:14:02.20\00:14:03.54 "Hope on Fire" several years ago. 00:14:03.57\00:14:04.91 Well, that show ended up becoming, started on radio 00:14:04.94\00:14:08.14 and then became a TV talk show for a period of years 00:14:08.18\00:14:11.38 and out of that Lifestreams Media was born. 00:14:11.41\00:14:15.12 And the documentary production, 00:14:15.15\00:14:16.99 the film production was sort of what God put on my heart. 00:14:17.02\00:14:20.39 And I'll share about "Single Creek," 00:14:20.42\00:14:21.76 our first film when, I don't know 00:14:21.79\00:14:24.36 if we're gonna go to a break but that's okay. 00:14:24.39\00:14:25.73 Yeah, we're gonna go to a song. 00:14:25.76\00:14:27.10 But before we do that I want to ask you to define for me 00:14:27.13\00:14:29.86 what a short film is. 00:14:29.90\00:14:32.20 'Cause it doesn't necessarily have to do 00:14:32.23\00:14:34.00 with the length of the film. 00:14:34.04\00:14:35.37 But define what a short is. 00:14:35.40\00:14:36.74 'Cause that's your bell... that's what you do. 00:14:36.77\00:14:39.21 You do short films. 00:14:39.24\00:14:40.88 What is that? 00:14:40.91\00:14:42.48 Well, short films technically are anything shorter than 00:14:42.51\00:14:45.15 45 minutes in a film festival circuit. 00:14:45.18\00:14:49.12 The truth is our documentary films are made for television, 00:14:49.15\00:14:53.42 53 minutes to 59 minute run time. 00:14:53.46\00:14:56.73 Some, that's sort of in the no man's land, 00:14:56.76\00:14:58.93 the grey zone of short versus feature film. 00:14:58.96\00:15:02.86 Technically a feature film is 90 minutes plus. 00:15:02.90\00:15:05.87 But for documentary format, anything longer than 00:15:05.90\00:15:09.27 45 minutes sometimes is considered a "feature." 00:15:09.30\00:15:12.24 A feature, yeah, I know 00:15:12.27\00:15:14.18 there are some not hard and fast rules 00:15:14.21\00:15:17.38 but there are some general expectations 00:15:17.41\00:15:19.35 when you talk about a short film. 00:15:19.38\00:15:22.18 Define for our audience what a documentary is. 00:15:22.22\00:15:26.12 You know, these are generally interviews 00:15:26.15\00:15:28.39 that are intended to do a journalistic nature where, 00:15:28.42\00:15:34.46 almost everybody start with an idea 00:15:34.50\00:15:36.67 and they want develop to go an idea, find people 00:15:36.70\00:15:39.47 that are knowledgeable in a field 00:15:39.50\00:15:41.37 or maybe somebody has a personal story 00:15:41.40\00:15:43.64 that happened to them and a documentary 00:15:43.67\00:15:46.24 and a producer wants to go and interview them 00:15:46.27\00:15:47.98 and create a story or film around their story. 00:15:48.01\00:15:51.41 I would say that we've, our three films 00:15:51.45\00:15:54.32 that we've done so far, kind of touch on both. 00:15:54.35\00:15:57.02 Some are issue driven where you go 00:15:57.05\00:15:58.92 and interview people that are experts in a field 00:15:58.95\00:16:01.52 and then you develop the whole film around an issue. 00:16:01.56\00:16:04.99 Yeah. 00:16:05.03\00:16:06.36 To try to drive social consciousness, 00:16:06.39\00:16:08.56 you try to impact your culture based on the calling 00:16:08.60\00:16:12.83 and not everybody has a lily white sense 00:16:12.87\00:16:16.27 of agenda, right, C.A. 00:16:16.30\00:16:17.64 Right, right, yeah. 00:16:17.67\00:16:19.01 I mean Hollywood has an agenda. 00:16:19.04\00:16:21.51 We, as Christians have a calling. 00:16:21.54\00:16:23.18 We have a mission and so yes, we have agenda. 00:16:23.21\00:16:25.25 Yes. 00:16:25.28\00:16:26.61 And so therefore I'm unapologetic 00:16:26.65\00:16:28.42 that the documentaries that we produce are intended 00:16:28.45\00:16:31.75 to create a context through story telling, 00:16:31.79\00:16:36.39 whether it's an issue-driven 00:16:36.42\00:16:37.99 or whether it's personal testimony 00:16:38.03\00:16:39.79 or somebody is sharing their journey. 00:16:39.83\00:16:42.06 And I'll break that down around issues versus personal story. 00:16:42.10\00:16:46.94 But like "Single Creek," it's issue-driven. 00:16:46.97\00:16:49.94 It's a very awkward sort of topic in the church 00:16:49.97\00:16:53.04 that's marriage and family-centric. 00:16:53.07\00:16:54.78 And if you are 40 plus and you've never been married, 00:16:54.81\00:16:58.11 something must be wrong with you, C.A. 00:16:58.15\00:17:00.08 We got to fix you, right. 00:17:00.12\00:17:01.62 So that sort of an issue-driven example. 00:17:01.65\00:17:04.22 What we're going out there to produce. 00:17:04.25\00:17:07.06 Well said, well said. 00:17:07.09\00:17:08.42 I want to get into because we're gonna talk about 00:17:08.46\00:17:10.33 your contact with the late Roger Morneau's foundation 00:17:10.36\00:17:13.50 and some stuff that has come out of that. 00:17:13.53\00:17:14.86 That is very exciting. 00:17:14.90\00:17:16.40 And some other stuff that you're doing 00:17:16.43\00:17:17.77 that led up to that. 00:17:17.80\00:17:19.13 I think we'll go to our music now 00:17:19.17\00:17:20.50 which comes to us from Valerie Shelton Walker 00:17:20.54\00:17:22.84 and she's gonna be singing, "My Tribute." 00:17:22.87\00:17:25.34 How can I say thanks 00:17:34.22\00:17:40.36 For the things 00:17:40.39\00:17:43.02 That You have done for me? 00:17:43.06\00:17:47.53 Things so undeserved 00:17:47.56\00:17:53.44 Yet you gave 00:17:53.47\00:17:56.04 To prove your love for me 00:17:56.07\00:18:00.14 The voices of a million angels 00:18:00.18\00:18:05.81 Could not express my gratitude 00:18:05.85\00:18:12.55 All that I am, and ever hope to be 00:18:12.59\00:18:17.79 I owe it all to thee 00:18:20.90\00:18:26.43 To God be the glory 00:18:26.47\00:18:33.11 To God be the glory 00:18:33.14\00:18:40.82 To God be the glory 00:18:40.85\00:18:46.22 For the things he has done 00:18:46.25\00:18:52.69 With His blood He has saved me 00:18:52.73\00:18:59.27 With His power He has raised me 00:18:59.30\00:19:06.68 To God be the glory 00:19:06.71\00:19:12.55 For the things he has done 00:19:12.58\00:19:18.32 Just let me live my life 00:19:18.35\00:19:25.16 Let it be pleasing Lord to thee 00:19:25.19\00:19:31.37 And should I gain any praise, 00:19:31.40\00:19:37.57 let it go to Calvary 00:19:37.61\00:19:44.91 Calvary 00:19:44.95\00:19:48.08 With His blood He has saved me 00:19:48.12\00:19:55.26 With His power He has raised me 00:19:55.29\00:20:02.96 To God be the glory 00:20:03.00\00:20:08.40 For the things 00:20:08.44\00:20:12.47 For the things 00:20:13.78\00:20:17.48 For the things 00:20:20.38\00:20:24.42 That He has done He has done 00:20:24.45\00:20:31.79 He has done 00:20:31.83\00:20:37.00 Amen, and thank you, Valerie Shelton Walker. 00:20:42.80\00:20:45.57 Well done. My guest is Chris Lang. 00:20:45.61\00:20:48.01 He of Lifestream Media, a film maker, 00:20:48.04\00:20:50.71 a documentary film maker. 00:20:50.75\00:20:52.28 We touched on Chris a little bit about 00:20:52.31\00:20:55.22 "Single Creek and "When Morning Breaks us," 00:20:55.25\00:20:57.62 sort of came out of a pretty dark time in your life. 00:20:57.65\00:21:00.32 But God used those for good to be the, 00:21:00.36\00:21:03.22 the sort of muse for these two particular films. 00:21:03.26\00:21:07.03 Give me just a quick run down 00:21:07.06\00:21:08.86 on those particular works if you would. 00:21:08.90\00:21:10.90 Absolutely, C.A. 00:21:10.93\00:21:13.40 "Single Creek actually was our first film. 00:21:13.44\00:21:16.20 And in many respects, it's gonna always be 00:21:16.24\00:21:19.14 special to me because it really created 00:21:19.17\00:21:21.41 a platform to offer hope 00:21:21.44\00:21:23.48 to single adults that are out there. 00:21:23.51\00:21:24.91 You know, US census status tells 00:21:24.95\00:21:27.32 that a 100 million single adults 00:21:27.35\00:21:29.65 now represent half of all US households. 00:21:29.68\00:21:33.32 And that's the, never married, the divorced, the widow, 00:21:33.36\00:21:37.59 the single parent, the person struggling 00:21:37.63\00:21:41.06 with same sex attraction 00:21:41.10\00:21:42.43 who's living a life of celibacy, you know. 00:21:42.46\00:21:44.83 There's a voice out there through this film for those 00:21:44.87\00:21:47.77 single adults challenging church to see singles 00:21:47.80\00:21:50.97 differently and to challenge singles to live a life 00:21:51.01\00:21:54.58 full of faith through the talents for Christ. 00:21:54.61\00:21:57.28 Praise God. 00:21:57.31\00:21:58.65 So it also surprises married people by the way. 00:21:58.68\00:22:01.45 'Cause it reminds all of us 00:22:01.48\00:22:02.92 that our completion in our lives comes 00:22:02.95\00:22:05.25 from one source and it's not our spouse. 00:22:05.29\00:22:06.86 Amen, amen. 00:22:06.89\00:22:08.22 Colossians 2: 10 says that, "You are complete in Him." 00:22:08.26\00:22:10.96 Praise God. Well said. 00:22:10.99\00:22:12.33 So that's "Single Creek." 00:22:12.36\00:22:13.70 "When Morning Breaks," many people feel like 00:22:13.73\00:22:15.83 it's an extension or follow up film to "Single Creek" 00:22:15.86\00:22:20.00 because Christian church is not only marriage-centric 00:22:20.04\00:22:23.54 but also family-centric. 00:22:23.57\00:22:26.04 And for those couples that are out there watching 00:22:26.07\00:22:28.34 who haven't been able to have children, 00:22:28.38\00:22:29.88 they might feel marginalized sometimes. 00:22:29.91\00:22:32.28 Those who had miscarriages, they might feel like 00:22:32.31\00:22:34.82 God can't trust them to be parents. 00:22:34.85\00:22:36.82 And of course, the abortion issue. 00:22:36.85\00:22:39.59 For women who had a, post abortive women feel 00:22:39.62\00:22:43.43 like they didn't have any choice. 00:22:43.46\00:22:44.96 And so where are the safe places in churches for them 00:22:44.99\00:22:49.03 to talk about such things? 00:22:49.06\00:22:50.77 So "When Morning Breaks" is really a film about hope. 00:22:50.80\00:22:53.23 It's, you know, people say, well, it's got miscarriage 00:22:53.27\00:22:56.37 and abortion story shared in it. 00:22:56.40\00:22:58.41 But you know, C.A., one of the things 00:22:58.44\00:23:00.24 that I've learnt is that, the long term emotional impact 00:23:00.28\00:23:03.65 of either kind of pregnancy loss, 00:23:03.68\00:23:05.91 regardless of the cause can be long term 00:23:05.95\00:23:08.52 and it can often be very similar. 00:23:08.55\00:23:10.39 Sure. 00:23:10.42\00:23:11.75 But in the context for all of us, 00:23:11.79\00:23:13.56 we can see in a lens through stories 00:23:13.59\00:23:16.36 that we all need healing and we all need a Savior. 00:23:16.39\00:23:19.59 So these have been our first two documentaries, 00:23:19.63\00:23:22.56 really social issue-driven but also hoping create 00:23:22.60\00:23:26.23 conversation in the church. 00:23:26.27\00:23:27.60 Yeah, praise the Lord. 00:23:27.64\00:23:28.97 Now are these still available? 00:23:29.00\00:23:30.34 They are available on digital platforms 00:23:30.37\00:23:32.91 like Amazon prime and Google Play 00:23:32.94\00:23:35.04 and also on our ministry website as well. 00:23:35.08\00:23:37.88 Okay, so we can get the stuff. 00:23:37.91\00:23:39.25 And we'll put that information up later. 00:23:39.28\00:23:40.62 What I got to ask you now, 00:23:40.65\00:23:41.98 because you got to go hustle along. 00:23:42.02\00:23:43.35 Yeah. 00:23:43.39\00:23:44.72 Your road to film making was not a direct road. 00:23:44.75\00:23:47.76 You've done a lot of stuff 00:23:47.79\00:23:49.76 which actually kind of prepared you 00:23:49.79\00:23:51.23 for the ministry that you now carry on. 00:23:51.26\00:23:53.50 May God has taken you through some things. 00:23:53.53\00:23:55.60 Did you go to school for your film making? 00:23:55.63\00:23:57.63 Did you pick at that skill up along the way 00:23:57.67\00:23:59.80 with all of the other things you're doing. 00:23:59.83\00:24:01.34 'Cause your resume is pretty broad. 00:24:01.37\00:24:03.24 Yeah, that's right, C.A. 00:24:03.27\00:24:05.14 Actually it was in the field learning. 00:24:05.17\00:24:08.48 I didn't actually go to school for film production. 00:24:08.51\00:24:10.98 You know, when you love, when you sense a great story, 00:24:11.01\00:24:14.45 when you feel that, when you feel that conviction, 00:24:14.48\00:24:17.02 it's really learning those technical tools, you know, 00:24:17.05\00:24:20.12 the shooting, the editing, the color correction, 00:24:20.16\00:24:22.89 the audit, the music and making sure you understand 00:24:22.92\00:24:26.09 how it all fits together. 00:24:26.13\00:24:27.53 And we God's blessing, 00:24:27.56\00:24:29.20 these films are being shown worldwide. 00:24:29.23\00:24:31.53 Praise God. 00:24:31.57\00:24:32.90 And so thankful for the opportunity 00:24:32.93\00:24:34.97 to tell these stories. 00:24:35.00\00:24:36.34 But you know, I'm not just telling other people's stories 00:24:36.37\00:24:38.94 and that's the wonderful context when you remember 00:24:38.97\00:24:41.74 that God saved your life too, 00:24:41.78\00:24:44.38 to become this sort of out growth of story telling. 00:24:44.41\00:24:48.08 So all of this is filtered through that. 00:24:48.12\00:24:51.32 Our friend that says, you know, 00:24:51.35\00:24:52.69 "If you got the fastball, 00:24:52.72\00:24:54.06 we can teach you the other things." 00:24:54.09\00:24:55.42 you know, so you got to have the basic understanding 00:24:55.46\00:24:57.46 of what a story is and how to tell it. 00:24:57.49\00:24:59.53 The technical stuff, you can pick up 00:24:59.56\00:25:01.93 but if you got the fastball I can teach you to curve 00:25:01.96\00:25:03.83 in a slider 'cause you got have the fastball. 00:25:03.87\00:25:05.63 So obviously, you had the fastball. 00:25:05.67\00:25:07.34 And the other things you picked up along the way 00:25:07.37\00:25:09.60 and God prepared you and took all of that, 00:25:09.64\00:25:11.77 put it in a pot and out came ministry 00:25:11.81\00:25:14.08 which we praise the Lord for. 00:25:14.11\00:25:15.44 Talk about this last one, 00:25:15.48\00:25:16.81 the latest and greatest they would say. 00:25:16.85\00:25:18.18 Yeah, this project is called "About Miracles" 00:25:18.21\00:25:20.55 and it was such a joy to put together. 00:25:20.58\00:25:23.85 We have a short trailer that we want to show 00:25:23.89\00:25:27.19 to give a context for what this story present. 00:25:27.22\00:25:30.39 All right, let's watch it. 00:25:30.43\00:25:31.76 What if you were robbed at work and then shot in the head? No neurologic deficit. 00:27:26.41\00:27:28.58 92% of people who are shot in the head will die. 00:27:28.61\00:27:31.85 Yeah. Wow. 00:27:31.88\00:27:33.21 So the second story that you saw in the trailer is a women 00:27:33.25\00:27:35.48 who had an a brain aneurysm and what's fascinating about 00:27:35.52\00:27:39.32 her story, C.A., is that God spoke to her 00:27:39.35\00:27:42.06 when she was on the phone one night 00:27:42.09\00:27:43.79 and told her to go to the emergency room 00:27:43.83\00:27:45.53 when she had no physical symptoms at all. 00:27:45.56\00:27:47.50 Wow. 00:27:47.53\00:27:48.86 She obeyed and because she obeyed her life was saved. 00:27:48.90\00:27:52.23 And that's amazing story. 00:27:52.27\00:27:54.07 The third story is a girl who want go got to China 00:27:54.10\00:27:57.01 on a mission trip and she didn't have the money. 00:27:57.04\00:27:59.34 So she was call porter and she had to sell 00:27:59.37\00:28:01.81 an exact number of books on four days time 00:28:01.84\00:28:04.71 to earn the thousands of dollars to go on that trip 00:28:04.75\00:28:07.08 and it was a really fun short story doing that film. 00:28:07.12\00:28:09.68 Yeah. 00:28:09.72\00:28:11.05 God cares more about all of these kinds 00:28:11.09\00:28:14.12 of temporal concerns and this really illustrates 00:28:14.16\00:28:17.69 how passionate and wonderful our Lord is to intercede 00:28:17.73\00:28:21.43 in even such a simple thing that's not life and death. 00:28:21.46\00:28:23.83 Yeah. Last story, Neville Peter. 00:28:23.87\00:28:26.33 Many of our viewers know who he is. 00:28:26.37\00:28:28.17 He's a songwriter. Been here many times. 00:28:28.20\00:28:29.70 Wonderful man of God. 00:28:29.74\00:28:31.91 Heard him talking one day, 00:28:31.94\00:28:33.27 I was looking for my fourth story 00:28:33.31\00:28:34.78 and I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to me, talk to Neville. 00:28:34.81\00:28:39.51 He's a miracle too. 00:28:39.55\00:28:41.35 And it didn't dawn on me until after I interviewed him 00:28:41.38\00:28:44.29 what the Lord was trying to say 00:28:44.32\00:28:46.32 through a blind man's testimony. 00:28:46.35\00:28:48.29 And I understood that God wants the world 00:28:48.32\00:28:51.59 through this film to see that the greatest miracle of all 00:28:51.63\00:28:55.70 is the miracle of a transformed heart. 00:28:55.73\00:28:57.47 Praise God. 00:28:57.50\00:28:58.83 Neville, you see, Neville doesn't have some pulled up 00:28:58.87\00:29:02.70 by the bootstraps "positivity," 00:29:02.74\00:29:05.51 get self-help book mentality. 00:29:05.54\00:29:08.54 He believes in His Creator that has a transformative 00:29:08.58\00:29:11.71 impact in his life and it really shows. 00:29:11.75\00:29:13.55 Yeah, it does. 00:29:13.58\00:29:14.92 It does, comes across in all that he does. 00:29:14.95\00:29:16.32 So that's a little snippet of... 00:29:16.35\00:29:18.65 Let me ask you this question. 00:29:18.69\00:29:20.02 How do you get your stories, that people bring you stuff, 00:29:20.06\00:29:22.26 do you go out looking for things, 00:29:22.29\00:29:23.66 do ideas brought to you, things pitched to you, 00:29:23.69\00:29:26.93 how do you get your material? 00:29:26.96\00:29:28.83 All of the above, brother. 00:29:28.86\00:29:31.00 Yeah, emails, phone calls 00:29:31.03\00:29:32.97 and sometimes like in this case, 00:29:33.00\00:29:35.30 as I say, the Lord is my witness, 00:29:35.34\00:29:37.07 I heard the Holy Spirit say to me, talk to Neville. 00:29:37.11\00:29:39.94 He's a miracle too. 00:29:39.97\00:29:41.31 So even the Lord has lead directly 00:29:41.34\00:29:43.41 to some of these stories. 00:29:43.45\00:29:45.11 Yeah. How very, very exciting. 00:29:45.15\00:29:49.42 The latest venture of yours, talk to us about 00:29:49.45\00:29:54.26 how you came into contact 00:29:54.29\00:29:55.92 with the Roger Morneau's estate. 00:29:55.96\00:29:57.46 I have happened to have read I think everything 00:29:57.49\00:29:59.69 that has been written about him and all of his works. 00:29:59.73\00:30:02.56 So when I heard that you were working with that, 00:30:02.60\00:30:04.67 it peaked my interest. 00:30:04.70\00:30:06.03 But walk us through that time 00:30:06.07\00:30:07.40 and what is coming out of that context. 00:30:07.44\00:30:08.80 Sure. 00:30:08.84\00:30:11.11 Recently I have read all of Roger's books 00:30:11.14\00:30:13.78 and I was impressed, C.A. 00:30:13.81\00:30:15.24 that I had never seen a dramatic presentation 00:30:15.28\00:30:18.81 of his conversion story, 1946. 00:30:18.85\00:30:21.35 I mean, anyone who's heard about Roger Morneau 00:30:21.38\00:30:23.99 would not disagree that it must be 00:30:24.02\00:30:25.75 one of the greatest conversion stories of the 20th century. 00:30:25.79\00:30:28.52 For those who haven't, give us some culture, 00:30:28.56\00:30:30.96 some background, some context for Roger. 00:30:30.99\00:30:32.76 As a young lad, Roger could not harmonize 00:30:32.79\00:30:35.23 the teachings of his church. 00:30:35.26\00:30:36.60 He grew up Catholic, with those of the viable. 00:30:36.63\00:30:38.93 He came to believe that God was a tyrant. 00:30:38.97\00:30:41.57 And he turned his back on God and religion completely. 00:30:41.60\00:30:44.74 Later he was invited into a secret society 00:30:44.77\00:30:47.24 that promised him wealth and power. 00:30:47.28\00:30:48.68 Yes. 00:30:48.71\00:30:50.05 But even though he was charmed by spirits and teachers, 00:30:50.08\00:30:52.81 he never felt peace or joy. 00:30:52.85\00:30:54.88 He found out first hand that demons are real. 00:30:54.92\00:30:58.05 Oh, yes. 00:30:58.09\00:30:59.42 And that their work is based on deception. 00:30:59.45\00:31:02.96 He's been pressured by the satanic priest 00:31:02.99\00:31:05.09 in that group to join to be initiated on Halloween 1946. 00:31:05.13\00:31:10.17 One night he's laying in bed. 00:31:10.20\00:31:11.73 By the way, his parents have warned him not to play 00:31:11.77\00:31:13.64 with evil and that someday you're gonna pay the price. 00:31:13.67\00:31:16.34 Yeah. 00:31:16.37\00:31:17.87 And he also knew that no one had ever gotten 00:31:17.91\00:31:19.64 out of that secret society alive. 00:31:19.67\00:31:22.24 So there he is at night. He can't sleep at 3 a.m. 00:31:22.28\00:31:24.88 He's staring up at the ceiling and he hates, 00:31:24.91\00:31:28.12 remember he hates God. 00:31:28.15\00:31:29.48 He's turned his back on God but he shouts up 00:31:29.52\00:31:31.35 to the ceiling, "If there is a God in heaven 00:31:31.39\00:31:33.96 that cares for me, help me." 00:31:33.99\00:31:37.99 Several days later, he met Cyril Grosse 00:31:38.03\00:31:40.83 at the embroidery factory where he worked. 00:31:40.86\00:31:43.10 And he soon learned during that day 00:31:43.13\00:31:44.90 that Cyril was a pretty religious man. 00:31:44.93\00:31:47.30 And he came to find out 00:31:47.34\00:31:48.67 that Cyril kept the Bible Sabbath. 00:31:48.70\00:31:50.74 And so that very night he asked if he could study 00:31:50.77\00:31:52.97 the Bible with Cyril and his wife Cynthia. 00:31:53.01\00:31:55.44 And within seven days they had covered 28 Bible studies. 00:31:55.48\00:31:58.58 Wow. 00:31:58.61\00:31:59.95 And he gave his heart to the Lord 00:31:59.98\00:32:01.32 instead of that very week selling his soul to the devil 00:32:01.35\00:32:04.29 which is what he was supposed to do. 00:32:04.32\00:32:05.69 Yeah, yeah. 00:32:05.72\00:32:07.06 Because Roger was not a toad in the water kind of Satan is. 00:32:07.09\00:32:09.86 He dove in, hook lines, ain't got whatever 00:32:09.89\00:32:12.53 better for you, you want to use. 00:32:12.56\00:32:13.90 He was deep into that was enough. 00:32:13.93\00:32:15.66 Exactly. 00:32:15.70\00:32:17.07 And you know, but knew his heart 00:32:17.10\00:32:19.17 and God knows that viewers that are out there, 00:32:19.20\00:32:21.54 people who have not grown up with the clear understanding 00:32:21.57\00:32:26.37 of the heart of God and truth of His word. 00:32:26.41\00:32:29.31 He knows the people that have been deceived. 00:32:29.34\00:32:31.28 And He knew that about Roger. Yes. 00:32:31.31\00:32:33.01 You see, I believe that this story 00:32:33.05\00:32:35.22 is so timely for today, C.A. 00:32:35.25\00:32:37.35 Because many of the people who are leaving Christianity 00:32:37.39\00:32:40.66 and going to the none of the above category. 00:32:40.69\00:32:43.09 They are not going to Buddhism and others. 00:32:43.12\00:32:44.53 They are going to the none of the above categories. 00:32:44.56\00:32:45.96 Correct. Yes. 00:32:45.99\00:32:47.33 Because religion has failed them. 00:32:47.36\00:32:48.83 Well, it failed Roger too. 00:32:48.86\00:32:50.83 And if people could hear and understand 00:32:50.87\00:32:53.23 how the Creator God reached down into the darkness 00:32:53.27\00:32:56.27 to save this man's life when he hated God. 00:32:56.30\00:32:59.01 But God understood that he was deceived. 00:32:59.04\00:33:01.98 And so that's what's so fascinating about this story. 00:33:02.01\00:33:04.51 The opportunity to now, we actually signed 00:33:04.55\00:33:08.25 a development agreement with Roger's estate. 00:33:08.28\00:33:10.62 Roger passed away in 1998. 00:33:10.65\00:33:12.19 Oh, yes. 00:33:12.22\00:33:13.56 And our original idea was to develop a feature film. 00:33:13.59\00:33:17.99 And as we were the unpublished manuscript of his first book, 00:33:18.03\00:33:21.66 A trip into the Supernatural, we found out that 00:33:21.70\00:33:24.97 there was so much more of his story 00:33:25.00\00:33:26.50 that had never been published. 00:33:26.53\00:33:27.87 Aha. 00:33:27.90\00:33:29.24 And so by God's grace we were convicted 00:33:29.27\00:33:31.91 that the world should see the whole story. 00:33:31.94\00:33:36.24 And so this book actually came out recently 00:33:36.28\00:33:41.42 that includes the full manuscript, 00:33:41.45\00:33:43.25 the full story of his conversion in 1946. 00:33:43.28\00:33:47.22 And not only his childhood 00:33:47.26\00:33:49.12 and his World War II experience, 00:33:49.16\00:33:50.93 but also some incredible ways that God taught him 00:33:50.96\00:33:54.00 to pray after he gave his heart to the Lord. 00:33:54.03\00:33:56.06 Mmm. 00:33:56.10\00:33:57.93 My question to you as a film maker, 00:33:57.97\00:34:00.04 you read this massive material on this very complex 00:34:00.07\00:34:03.77 and layered life. 00:34:03.81\00:34:05.84 How do you then digest that into something 00:34:05.87\00:34:09.04 that we can watch that tells the story, yet, 00:34:09.08\00:34:11.48 is not incredibly long, that holds our interest? 00:34:11.51\00:34:13.88 How do you begin to attack that to make it 00:34:13.92\00:34:16.25 something that we want to see. 00:34:16.28\00:34:17.89 Yeah. 00:34:17.92\00:34:19.95 There's a 1000 different ways 00:34:19.99\00:34:21.32 a story can be told, right, C.A.? 00:34:21.36\00:34:22.89 Uh, huh. 00:34:22.92\00:34:24.99 The feature film originally was designed to be focused 00:34:25.03\00:34:29.50 on primarily his childhood experiences, 00:34:29.53\00:34:32.67 the ways that he was informed in his Catholic upbringing 00:34:32.70\00:34:36.91 and then the way his twig was bent. 00:34:36.94\00:34:38.47 You see, his mother died when he was 12 years old. 00:34:38.51\00:34:40.34 Yes. 00:34:40.38\00:34:41.71 And that was the straw 00:34:41.74\00:34:43.08 that broke the camel's back for Roger. 00:34:43.11\00:34:45.18 So our focus was really going to be on the secret society 00:34:45.21\00:34:49.15 and on how he was delivered by the Lord. 00:34:49.18\00:34:51.99 See there was a confrontation 00:34:52.02\00:34:53.49 with the high ranking spirit one night. 00:34:53.52\00:34:55.99 On the week when he was studying the Bible, 00:34:56.02\00:34:58.19 a spirit confronted him in his bedroom one night. 00:34:58.23\00:35:01.46 And this is really the climax of the movie. 00:35:01.50\00:35:03.67 In my heart, I could, I sense that the Lord wanted to show 00:35:03.70\00:35:07.74 that doesn't, you know, Jesus said, 00:35:07.77\00:35:09.67 "On this rock I will build my church." 00:35:09.70\00:35:11.74 Matthew chapter 16. 00:35:11.77\00:35:13.44 "And the gate of hell will not prevail against it." 00:35:13.48\00:35:16.64 Wow. Right. 00:35:16.68\00:35:18.01 So even if the devil himself comes to a new child of God 00:35:18.05\00:35:21.58 and tries to shout and that's what was happening 00:35:21.62\00:35:24.75 that night in Roger's bedroom. 00:35:24.79\00:35:27.09 And in the name of Jesus, Roger, 00:35:27.12\00:35:29.59 told that spirit to leave in the name of Jesus. 00:35:29.62\00:35:32.66 And that spirit left and slammed 00:35:32.69\00:35:34.83 the balcony door open so hard, 00:35:34.86\00:35:37.07 it just about put a hole in the plastered wall. 00:35:37.10\00:35:39.47 So when you asked me how do you tell the story 00:35:39.50\00:35:41.94 so that people would care. 00:35:41.97\00:35:43.30 Well, first, you have to tel the story that makes, 00:35:43.34\00:35:45.27 it can't just be an information dump. 00:35:45.31\00:35:47.61 People aren't gonna be interested 00:35:47.64\00:35:49.28 if you're information dumping and trying to "preach" at them. 00:35:49.31\00:35:51.41 Yeah. 00:35:51.45\00:35:52.78 You have to engage them at the point 00:35:52.81\00:35:54.42 where they're gonna care about this character, Roger Morneau. 00:35:54.45\00:35:57.75 So developing empathy as you go along in your story 00:35:57.79\00:36:01.66 in the script and then building up to a climax, 00:36:01.69\00:36:05.39 there's a certain structure 00:36:05.43\00:36:06.76 that typically a film should follow. 00:36:06.80\00:36:08.50 Yes. 00:36:08.53\00:36:09.86 In order to actually bring people on a journey. 00:36:09.90\00:36:13.03 People have to want to care about someone first. 00:36:13.07\00:36:15.04 And secondly, is, what is it that that person cares about? 00:36:15.07\00:36:18.57 It has to be universal concern. 00:36:18.61\00:36:20.54 Understood. 00:36:20.58\00:36:21.91 And so in the story you have to build 00:36:21.94\00:36:23.75 what is that universal thing that your character is seeking. 00:36:23.78\00:36:26.92 And throughout the story there has to be a thread. 00:36:26.95\00:36:28.65 Yeah. 00:36:28.68\00:36:30.02 So that's ultimately what we're working on. 00:36:30.05\00:36:32.59 We don't have the script finished yet. 00:36:32.62\00:36:34.59 And we, and that's part of what we are praying about. 00:36:34.62\00:36:37.46 So we have the book, the documentary interviews. 00:36:37.49\00:36:41.20 Well, actually it's a three-part project, C.A. 00:36:41.23\00:36:43.37 It's the book, it's a documentary 00:36:43.40\00:36:45.47 that features interviews with family, friends 00:36:45.50\00:36:47.67 and former members of the occult. 00:36:47.70\00:36:49.30 And there's featured film. Wow. 00:36:49.34\00:36:50.94 And so each of them are their own pieces. 00:36:50.97\00:36:53.51 And the script for the feature film 00:36:53.54\00:36:55.68 is what we're still praying about. 00:36:55.71\00:36:57.15 It's gonna be an expensive project. 00:36:57.18\00:36:59.78 But, you know, you said something. 00:36:59.81\00:37:01.58 The theatre today is the post-modern church. 00:37:01.62\00:37:05.79 People are increasingly going there to find their truth. 00:37:05.82\00:37:09.32 And this story, by God's grace, we want to present, 00:37:09.36\00:37:13.40 we want to help people to understand 00:37:13.43\00:37:14.76 why truth matters today. 00:37:14.80\00:37:16.56 And that the great controversy is real. 00:37:16.60\00:37:18.80 Yes, yes. 00:37:18.83\00:37:20.17 I'll give you an example. 00:37:20.20\00:37:21.54 There's a certain sound to this story, C.A. 00:37:21.57\00:37:23.51 I was in a big city and I was looking forward 00:37:23.54\00:37:27.94 to see if you could their trolley system 00:37:27.98\00:37:30.05 as a exterior shots for our film. 00:37:30.08\00:37:32.45 Sure. 00:37:32.48\00:37:33.82 So I met with the transit authority 00:37:33.85\00:37:35.18 and they brought me into their office. 00:37:35.22\00:37:36.89 I'm sitting there talking to these powerful people. 00:37:36.92\00:37:39.55 And I'm a nobody. I'm not from Hollywood. 00:37:39.59\00:37:42.29 But they're treating me, you know, 00:37:42.32\00:37:43.66 with respect and they said, "Listen, we do this a lot. 00:37:43.69\00:37:48.20 We rent our subways our buses, 00:37:48.23\00:37:50.57 our trolleys to Hollywood producers all the time. 00:37:50.60\00:37:53.10 But we don't always agree because sometimes 00:37:53.13\00:37:55.37 it could create a bad image for our city." 00:37:55.40\00:37:57.67 So she leans forward under chair and she asks me, 00:37:57.71\00:38:00.54 "What's your movie about?" 00:38:00.58\00:38:03.11 Now when you don't know somebody's real view, C.A. 00:38:03.14\00:38:05.81 Right. 00:38:05.85\00:38:07.18 You don't know if they're Christian, 00:38:07.22\00:38:08.55 a Muslim or agnostic. 00:38:08.58\00:38:09.92 Yeah, you don't want to lay it on too thick, 00:38:09.95\00:38:11.29 you don't want to, you know, pour honey on them but, yeah. 00:38:11.32\00:38:12.89 So it was a Nehemiah thing. 00:38:12.92\00:38:14.32 You know, I said, I prayed to the Lord and I said to her, 00:38:14.36\00:38:17.29 "It's a story about Roger Morneau, 00:38:17.33\00:38:19.46 former demon worshipper, who became a Christian author 00:38:19.49\00:38:21.96 and prayer warrior. 00:38:22.00\00:38:23.33 It happened in 1946 and that's the reason 00:38:23.37\00:38:26.63 why we want to lease your trolleys for exterior shots." 00:38:26.67\00:38:29.74 Because their trolleys actually were manufactured in 1947. 00:38:29.77\00:38:34.64 Wow. 00:38:34.68\00:38:36.01 And they are operational out on the street in that city. 00:38:36.04\00:38:37.38 Incredible. Good story. 00:38:37.41\00:38:38.75 Really amazing. Yeah. 00:38:38.78\00:38:40.12 So, I said to her, I said, "You know, this story is true." 00:38:40.15\00:38:43.08 And I said, I'm going to interview the very people 00:38:43.12\00:38:45.39 who study the Bible with him in 1946. 00:38:45.42\00:38:47.56 They are almost 90 years old." 00:38:47.59\00:38:49.39 And I said, "Those people were almost killed by spirits. 00:38:49.42\00:38:52.43 They were witnesses." 00:38:52.46\00:38:53.80 Yeah. 00:38:53.83\00:38:55.16 "There is a battle going 00:38:55.20\00:38:56.53 on over every personal life today." 00:38:56.56\00:38:58.67 See how I never forget how bigger her eyes were. 00:38:58.70\00:39:01.50 She was leaning forward under chair. 00:39:01.54\00:39:03.24 She grabbed her file of paper work 00:39:03.27\00:39:05.47 and she started going over. 00:39:05.51\00:39:06.84 She said, "That sounds fine to me." 00:39:06.88\00:39:08.81 And she started going through the pricing 00:39:08.84\00:39:10.65 and the contract and everything. 00:39:10.68\00:39:12.58 She gave me her card. 00:39:12.61\00:39:13.95 She says, "Call me, this sounds great. 00:39:13.98\00:39:16.12 We want to see the script when it's done." 00:39:16.15\00:39:18.19 You know, we planted, the Lord planted a seed there. 00:39:18.22\00:39:21.16 And I also ran into a president in that same city of a company 00:39:21.19\00:39:25.89 we work with. 00:39:25.93\00:39:27.26 They are not Seventh-Day Adventist Christians. 00:39:27.30\00:39:29.66 And he took me out to lunch. 00:39:29.70\00:39:31.03 He knows that I'm working 00:39:31.07\00:39:32.40 on this project about Roger Morneau. 00:39:32.43\00:39:34.40 And he knows that it's more about, 00:39:34.44\00:39:36.40 it's about more than just being delivered 00:39:36.44\00:39:38.41 from demon worship though. 00:39:38.44\00:39:39.97 It, Roger learned about the Sabbath, 00:39:40.01\00:39:41.74 he learned about the state of the dead, 00:39:41.78\00:39:43.65 and what's amazing 00:39:43.68\00:39:45.95 is that this Sunday Protestant and all of his staff, 00:39:45.98\00:39:49.28 they are praying for this project, C.A. 00:39:49.32\00:39:50.95 Praise God. Praise the Lord. 00:39:50.99\00:39:52.35 Praying for this project, 00:39:52.39\00:39:53.79 that the Lord will open the doors for us. 00:39:53.82\00:39:55.46 Let me ask you this question before our time is up 00:39:55.49\00:39:56.83 because Roger, in reading the material 00:39:56.86\00:40:00.50 dealt with some dark stuff. 00:40:00.53\00:40:02.46 How do you walk that line between telling the truth 00:40:02.50\00:40:07.44 about his life and not degenerating 00:40:07.47\00:40:09.50 into a sort of sci fiy kind of spooks kind thing. 00:40:09.54\00:40:12.61 Creepy Halloween. 00:40:12.64\00:40:13.98 Yeah, yeah, kind of Halloween 00:40:14.01\00:40:15.34 kind of caricature kind of a thing? 00:40:15.38\00:40:17.45 You know, that's been in a topic of a lot of prayer. 00:40:17.48\00:40:20.78 Yeah. 00:40:20.82\00:40:22.15 You know, the challenge 00:40:22.18\00:40:24.65 that we don't want to glorify the darkness. 00:40:24.69\00:40:26.45 Precisely. 00:40:26.49\00:40:27.82 We want to lift up Christ. 00:40:27.86\00:40:29.56 And for the sake of those people like Jesus, 00:40:29.59\00:40:32.99 when he went across the sea and He ran into those 00:40:33.03\00:40:35.60 demon possessed men in Genezareth, right. 00:40:35.63\00:40:39.03 He told that man, "Go tell your friends and family 00:40:39.07\00:40:41.34 what great thing the Lord has done for you." 00:40:41.37\00:40:42.84 Yes. 00:40:42.87\00:40:44.21 Now you see, that man had 00:40:44.24\00:40:45.57 never heard Jesus preach before. 00:40:45.61\00:40:46.94 He could only tell his conversion story. 00:40:46.98\00:40:48.44 Right. 00:40:48.48\00:40:49.81 And it's very graphic in the Bible. 00:40:49.84\00:40:51.88 He was cutting himself, he was chained, 00:40:51.91\00:40:53.82 he was breaking chains, he was so demon-possessed. 00:40:53.85\00:40:56.58 And so you know, the Bible tells us 00:40:56.62\00:40:59.75 in Ephesians chapter 5 that it's sad 00:40:59.79\00:41:03.73 that we should even have to speak of these things. 00:41:03.76\00:41:06.23 And then Paul says that, 00:41:06.26\00:41:07.93 "We are to expose the darkness." 00:41:07.96\00:41:10.67 And of course, "Putting on the whole armor of God" 00:41:10.70\00:41:12.67 in chapter 6. 00:41:12.70\00:41:14.10 But it is, it's a challenge to present the story 00:41:14.14\00:41:19.54 to validate that the darkness is real. 00:41:19.57\00:41:22.21 It's like if I were to give a slogan, I would say, 00:41:22.24\00:41:25.38 the darkness is real, and God is awesome. 00:41:25.41\00:41:28.18 That's essentially the slogan is because Jesus 00:41:28.22\00:41:30.45 is the lead character, the devil of course, 00:41:30.49\00:41:33.29 is part of the great controversy. 00:41:33.32\00:41:34.89 But he is defeated. 00:41:34.92\00:41:36.52 And so, you know, in order to be 00:41:36.56\00:41:38.09 truthful to Roger's story, 00:41:38.13\00:41:40.06 we have to validate that the darkness is real. 00:41:40.10\00:41:42.46 Yeah, that's the tension... 00:41:42.50\00:41:44.50 Now I'll tell you a quick story, 00:41:44.53\00:41:45.87 not to take away your time. 00:41:45.90\00:41:47.24 When I was writing my third book, there was a scene 00:41:47.27\00:41:51.01 of a young lady, she's an Adventist. 00:41:51.04\00:41:52.97 She is Christian. 00:41:53.01\00:41:54.34 She has a secret crack habit that she confided to me. 00:41:54.38\00:41:57.85 And we were writing the story. 00:41:57.88\00:41:59.51 Well, she says, "It's Friday night out, 00:41:59.55\00:42:02.32 I went to get crack and I told the guy 00:42:02.35\00:42:04.15 I got no money, so I have nothing to give you." 00:42:04.19\00:42:06.22 He says, "Yeah, you do." 00:42:06.25\00:42:07.59 And she said, "The way he looked at me, 00:42:07.62\00:42:08.96 I knew what he wanted." 00:42:08.99\00:42:10.33 So she said, "Ten minutes later, 00:42:10.36\00:42:11.69 I'm on the ground and my dress is up and a man is on me 00:42:11.73\00:42:15.10 and in me, in three hours, I'm going to be in church. 00:42:15.13\00:42:18.37 All of this drugs. 00:42:18.40\00:42:19.73 I didn't even know this guy's name." 00:42:19.77\00:42:21.10 So when I submitted the book, 00:42:21.14\00:42:22.47 they said, "You can't put that in there." 00:42:22.50\00:42:25.41 And we fought over that. 00:42:25.44\00:42:26.78 Because I said, in order to glory in her healing, 00:42:26.81\00:42:30.11 I got to share where she came from. 00:42:30.15\00:42:31.81 So if we sanitize that, 00:42:31.85\00:42:33.65 then we lose the legitimacy of her ascent. 00:42:33.68\00:42:36.35 Well said. 00:42:36.38\00:42:37.72 Yeah, you know, so we got to show that. 00:42:37.75\00:42:39.45 We don't want a glory in that, 00:42:39.49\00:42:40.82 we don't want to wallow in that. 00:42:40.86\00:42:42.19 But that's part of her life like her 00:42:42.22\00:42:44.96 now being in the church and being in clean 00:42:44.99\00:42:47.16 and being holy this part of her life. 00:42:47.20\00:42:48.53 So you can't, you got to have, you got have both. 00:42:48.56\00:42:50.37 So it occurred to me that that's one of the tight ropes 00:42:50.40\00:42:53.57 you got to walk. 00:42:53.60\00:42:54.94 We got to tell the truth about where this guy came from, 00:42:54.97\00:42:57.07 so that you can see that if someone else 00:42:57.11\00:42:59.71 is down there too, they also got the hope. 00:42:59.74\00:43:01.84 And as a film maker, you got to do that 00:43:01.88\00:43:03.55 in a short period of time. 00:43:03.58\00:43:05.48 But you got to make that point. 00:43:05.51\00:43:06.85 That's exactly right. Very well said, C.A. 00:43:06.88\00:43:09.58 You know, Roger's intercessory prayer ministry 00:43:09.62\00:43:14.52 is greatly remembered. 00:43:14.56\00:43:15.89 A lot of his books were about prayer. 00:43:15.92\00:43:17.26 Very much so. 00:43:17.29\00:43:18.63 But they were informed by his knowledge 00:43:18.66\00:43:21.56 of having been deep in the darkness. 00:43:21.60\00:43:23.80 Well said. Yes, yeah. 00:43:23.83\00:43:25.17 You see, that's the reason why God used him 00:43:25.20\00:43:27.64 in such a powerful way to illustrate 00:43:27.67\00:43:30.61 the power of intercessory prayer. 00:43:30.64\00:43:32.61 Because he understands the rules of engagement 00:43:32.64\00:43:35.28 between the darkness and the light. 00:43:35.31\00:43:37.78 And he articulated it in a way 00:43:37.81\00:43:39.21 that only the Holy Spirit could. 00:43:39.25\00:43:40.58 Amen. 00:43:40.62\00:43:41.95 So I agree with you. 00:43:41.98\00:43:43.32 I think this is uh, Mary Magdalene, you know, 00:43:43.35\00:43:46.05 healed from seven demons by Jesus himself. 00:43:46.09\00:43:48.26 Yeah. 00:43:48.29\00:43:49.62 What a dramatic depth that He pulled her from. 00:43:49.66\00:43:51.19 Precisely. 00:43:51.23\00:43:52.56 And how in the world would we have a context 00:43:52.59\00:43:54.53 that Jesus is relevant today unless we, as you said, 00:43:54.56\00:43:58.47 tell where someone really came from. 00:43:58.50\00:43:59.93 Yeah, yeah. 00:43:59.97\00:44:01.30 Do you write, as far as spirit writing, 00:44:01.34\00:44:02.90 do you write your own stuff or do you have group of people 00:44:02.94\00:44:05.04 write for you, write with you? 00:44:05.07\00:44:06.41 How do you do that? 00:44:06.44\00:44:07.78 With a documentary production, 00:44:07.81\00:44:09.54 the Lord and I do that during post-production. 00:44:09.58\00:44:11.88 Most documentaries don't have a script. 00:44:11.91\00:44:13.38 Yeah. 00:44:13.42\00:44:14.75 But in this new project we're talking about, 00:44:14.78\00:44:16.48 we're putting together a team. 00:44:16.52\00:44:18.89 There's a number of different script writers 00:44:18.92\00:44:20.52 that I'm talking to right now who are praying about 00:44:20.56\00:44:23.76 and talking and seeing who the Lord has in stored 00:44:23.79\00:44:26.53 to write the script for the screen play. 00:44:26.56\00:44:27.90 Praise the Lord. It must be so very exciting. 00:44:27.93\00:44:30.77 First of all, I like film. 00:44:30.80\00:44:32.23 I like movies and I like the documentary format. 00:44:32.27\00:44:36.30 So it must be exciting to bite down on something 00:44:36.34\00:44:38.47 that big and that has consequence 00:44:38.51\00:44:40.78 and that can change lives, yes, no. 00:44:40.81\00:44:42.28 Yeah. Yeah. 00:44:42.31\00:44:43.65 This is exciting. 00:44:43.68\00:44:45.21 I believe that we are in the final stages 00:44:45.25\00:44:46.92 of world's history, brother. 00:44:46.95\00:44:48.28 Well said. 00:44:48.32\00:44:49.65 And you know, Martin Luther, William Tyndale, John Wesley, 00:44:49.68\00:44:52.72 all these great reformers that they have broke free 00:44:52.75\00:44:57.43 of a lot of truth in their area 00:44:57.46\00:44:58.79 but they weren't able to show all truth. 00:44:58.83\00:45:02.43 The truth of the Sabbath and the state of the dead, 00:45:02.46\00:45:04.77 were things that they didn't understand back then. 00:45:04.80\00:45:07.27 So we have a final mission to finish the protestant 00:45:07.30\00:45:10.34 reformation because the protest is not over. 00:45:10.37\00:45:12.54 Amen. 00:45:12.57\00:45:13.91 You know, and Roger's story is so beautiful 00:45:13.94\00:45:16.31 and it's like the call to come out of Babylon. 00:45:16.34\00:45:19.18 Because, you know, C.A., 00:45:19.21\00:45:20.85 the thread that runs through all world views 00:45:20.88\00:45:23.45 except for our precious view of Christians 00:45:23.49\00:45:25.39 in Seventh-Day Adventist or one of those sub cultures, 00:45:25.42\00:45:28.36 that understands the death is asleep. 00:45:28.39\00:45:31.73 It's the immortality of the soul, that this belief, 00:45:31.76\00:45:35.83 that you pass on in some form or another after you die. 00:45:35.86\00:45:39.23 Whether it's free masonry, witchcraft, 00:45:39.27\00:45:42.10 whether it's a most of Protestant Christianity, 00:45:42.14\00:45:45.51 Catholicism, Buddhism, it believes in Nirvana, 00:45:45.54\00:45:49.88 Hinduism, you know, even witches believe in Summer land 00:45:49.91\00:45:53.65 that you go somewhere like a purgatory. 00:45:53.68\00:45:55.75 You know, the devil is so good at sending out all these 00:45:55.78\00:45:58.72 distractions, thousands of packagings 00:45:58.75\00:46:00.99 but it all comes back to the tree. 00:46:01.02\00:46:02.99 It all comes back to the garden, 00:46:03.02\00:46:04.73 where the serpent says, you will not surely die. 00:46:04.76\00:46:06.80 Correct. Yeah. 00:46:06.83\00:46:08.16 So the lie is a lie even well today. 00:46:08.23\00:46:09.86 If God need the people who are gonna reflect 00:46:09.90\00:46:12.47 the face of Jesus and show the truth and love. 00:46:12.50\00:46:15.10 Well said, well said. 00:46:15.14\00:46:17.67 As you began to work now 00:46:17.71\00:46:21.31 on this life, now first let me ask. 00:46:21.34\00:46:22.68 This book is available. Yes. 00:46:22.71\00:46:24.25 Yeah, you can get this now. 00:46:24.28\00:46:25.61 That's right. 00:46:25.65\00:46:26.98 This is sort of the template for what you are trying 00:46:27.02\00:46:28.35 to do as far as his life... 00:46:28.38\00:46:30.79 The movie script we base on this book. 00:46:30.82\00:46:33.59 And so we definitely seeing this 00:46:33.62\00:46:36.99 as phase one of our three-part project. 00:46:37.03\00:46:38.86 Mmm. Yeah. 00:46:38.89\00:46:40.23 Yeah, praise God. 00:46:40.26\00:46:41.60 You are working with a permission, 00:46:41.63\00:46:42.96 the cooperation, the blessing of the Morneau estate. 00:46:43.00\00:46:46.43 Correct. 00:46:46.47\00:46:47.80 okay, so this is legitimate stuff. 00:46:47.84\00:46:49.17 Yeah, I actually had the privilege 00:46:49.20\00:46:50.54 to interview Roger's grandson recently. 00:46:50.57\00:46:52.81 And of course Cyril and Cynthia Grosse 00:46:52.84\00:46:54.84 who studied the Bible with Roger in 1946. 00:46:54.88\00:46:58.05 And so it's been a great privilege 00:46:58.08\00:47:00.25 to work with Roger's family. 00:47:00.28\00:47:03.82 And to me, so many incredible people 00:47:03.85\00:47:06.59 that knew Roger. 00:47:06.62\00:47:07.96 Yeah. 00:47:07.99\00:47:09.32 I actually interviewed a couple in Montreal Canada 00:47:09.36\00:47:11.06 who Roger prayed for 00:47:11.09\00:47:12.53 and she had this miraculous heart recovery 00:47:12.56\00:47:14.56 when she was actually dying in the hospital, critical care. 00:47:14.60\00:47:16.97 Yeah, yeah. 00:47:17.00\00:47:18.33 Now that was as you read his material, 00:47:18.37\00:47:19.70 that was a an outgrowth of his walk with God, 00:47:19.73\00:47:23.20 that that guy had believe to get a prayer through, man. 00:47:23.24\00:47:26.07 And get blessings on a back end. 00:47:26.11\00:47:28.64 He really and I think it's because he had come 00:47:28.68\00:47:30.98 from so far down, he knew who God was, 00:47:31.01\00:47:32.75 he knew where God was, he knew how to get to God 00:47:32.78\00:47:34.78 and there was a sincerity that marked his, 00:47:34.82\00:47:37.39 the latter part of his life that was unmistakable. 00:47:37.42\00:47:39.75 But, you know, he wanted so desperately, C.A., 00:47:39.79\00:47:42.09 for the world for believers every where 00:47:42.12\00:47:45.26 to believe and grasp that, 00:47:45.29\00:47:48.83 you can have a prayer life like he had. 00:47:48.86\00:47:51.20 That Roger was no special guru 00:47:51.23\00:47:53.97 like they believe in India in Hinduism. 00:47:54.00\00:47:56.44 That Roger was simply trying to teach us and disciple us 00:47:56.47\00:47:59.81 and help us understand that 00:47:59.84\00:48:01.18 we can all have that passion at prayer life, 00:48:01.21\00:48:03.55 that intimacy with the Father 00:48:03.58\00:48:05.75 and that, his estate wants desperately 00:48:05.78\00:48:08.85 for people listening and watching this project 00:48:08.88\00:48:11.29 as it unfolds, to really grasp and believe for themselves. 00:48:11.32\00:48:14.49 Praise God. Praise God. 00:48:14.52\00:48:16.12 Obviously, Chris, you are very aware of the times 00:48:16.16\00:48:19.19 in which you live and that time is not far. 00:48:19.23\00:48:23.20 There's not a lot of time left. 00:48:23.23\00:48:24.57 There's much more in the rearview mirror 00:48:24.60\00:48:26.17 than there is in the windshield. 00:48:26.20\00:48:29.37 Time line, do you have a time 00:48:29.40\00:48:31.41 when you're trying to get this done in and out 00:48:31.44\00:48:33.31 or do you kind of just take it as it comes 00:48:33.34\00:48:34.94 because documentaries can be, 00:48:34.98\00:48:37.31 I mean, you got to do a lot of research, 00:48:37.35\00:48:38.68 there's a lot of time at the computer, 00:48:38.71\00:48:40.52 a lot of time looking up stuff, talking to people 00:48:40.55\00:48:42.42 and then you got to synthesize this stuff. 00:48:42.45\00:48:44.35 Do you have a kind of time line in your mind? 00:48:44.39\00:48:46.35 Thank you, yes. 00:48:46.39\00:48:48.72 The goal with God's help is to release the documentary 00:48:48.76\00:48:51.93 before the end of 2015. 00:48:51.96\00:48:55.53 Our goal is to come out with the feature film 00:48:55.56\00:48:59.87 by fall Halloween season, 2017. 00:48:59.90\00:49:04.61 It's, we're giving ourselves sometime 00:49:04.64\00:49:06.51 to raise the funds that we need. 00:49:06.54\00:49:08.34 It's gonna be a large mountain. 00:49:08.38\00:49:10.81 You know, when you do a feature film, 00:49:10.85\00:49:12.25 you have a small army that's required to... 00:49:12.28\00:49:14.05 Oh, yes, yeah. 00:49:14.08\00:49:15.42 And you have a lot of location, 00:49:15.45\00:49:16.79 a lot of expense versus the documentary format. 00:49:16.82\00:49:20.72 But we felt like the both programs are very important 00:49:20.76\00:49:25.03 in terms of underscoring the importance of the story 00:49:25.06\00:49:27.96 so, end of 2015 documentary and then late 2017 00:49:28.00\00:49:34.60 for the feature film, God willing. 00:49:34.64\00:49:36.17 Yeah. 00:49:36.20\00:49:37.54 Even sooner if possible. 00:49:37.57\00:49:38.91 But, you know, when you think about 00:49:38.94\00:49:40.28 a counter cultural story like this, 00:49:40.31\00:49:42.14 it happened during Halloween, 1946. 00:49:42.18\00:49:44.98 And all the films that get released that are spooky, 00:49:45.01\00:49:47.62 harp goblins, scary stuff, 00:49:47.65\00:49:50.19 horror films at Halloween season, 00:49:50.22\00:49:52.39 we want a film that's gonna be completely against the grain. 00:49:52.42\00:49:54.92 Praise God. Praise God. 00:49:54.96\00:49:56.39 Obviously, you have bitten down on this 00:49:56.42\00:49:58.63 because you're gonna do two projects. 00:49:58.66\00:50:00.53 One, a documentary, a feature film. 00:50:00.56\00:50:02.80 So you think this is an important story to tell. 00:50:02.83\00:50:05.67 Absolutely. 00:50:05.70\00:50:07.04 Yeah. 00:50:07.07\00:50:08.40 I really believe it's part of God's last day call 00:50:08.44\00:50:10.91 for people to come out of Babylon. 00:50:10.94\00:50:12.94 And the documentary itself 00:50:12.97\00:50:15.64 isn't intended to duplicate the feature film. 00:50:15.68\00:50:18.75 The feature film, 00:50:18.78\00:50:20.12 again, the feature film is not to be preachy, 00:50:20.15\00:50:22.38 it's not, it can't be a didactic. 00:50:22.42\00:50:24.52 We are not trying to do a Bible study 00:50:24.55\00:50:26.12 in the feature film. 00:50:26.15\00:50:27.49 Right, the Holy Spirit's blessing, 00:50:27.52\00:50:29.12 we want to make people curious to learn what Roger learned 00:50:29.16\00:50:32.53 in 1946 that saved his soul. 00:50:32.56\00:50:36.46 Yeah, and you actually, 00:50:36.50\00:50:38.73 we're heading down the same road 00:50:38.77\00:50:40.20 because I'm thinking your target audience 00:50:40.24\00:50:42.74 isn't a person who's sitting in church on Sabbath anyway. 00:50:42.77\00:50:44.54 Exactly. 00:50:44.57\00:50:45.91 That featured film is going to for an audience 00:50:45.94\00:50:47.31 that doesn't have that pre-disposition. 00:50:47.34\00:50:49.78 So it's got to tell a story without preaching the story, 00:50:49.81\00:50:54.48 yet, there's got to be some entertainment value 00:50:54.52\00:50:57.05 because want people to see it. 00:50:57.09\00:50:58.59 So you're weaving together a number of threads 00:50:58.62\00:51:01.06 to try to get something that is relevant 00:51:01.09\00:51:04.26 and yet that is marketable and that is sellable. 00:51:04.29\00:51:07.26 Right exactly. Yeah, yeah. 00:51:07.30\00:51:08.83 It's exactly right. Lot to say. 00:51:08.86\00:51:10.20 And also, you know, 00:51:10.23\00:51:11.57 we are living in a prove-it-to-me age. 00:51:11.60\00:51:12.93 Precisely, yeah. 00:51:12.97\00:51:14.30 And so that's why 00:51:14.34\00:51:15.67 the documentary is coming to serve, 00:51:15.70\00:51:17.04 underscore and validate the person that Roger was 00:51:17.07\00:51:19.61 and the danger of the occult, ultimately. 00:51:19.64\00:51:22.64 That when you dabble in it, 00:51:22.68\00:51:24.51 it's gonna take your life ultimately. 00:51:24.55\00:51:26.41 Excellent, yeah, well said. 00:51:26.45\00:51:29.25 Chris Lang is a representative of a number of young people. 00:51:29.28\00:51:33.79 I still call him young 'cause he's younger than me, 00:51:33.82\00:51:36.52 who are ceasing this medium that is so very, very popular. 00:51:36.56\00:51:40.86 I think video television, 00:51:40.90\00:51:42.50 one of the most powerful things 00:51:42.53\00:51:43.87 ever created in history of the world. 00:51:43.90\00:51:45.77 He's using this 00:51:45.80\00:51:47.17 for the uplifting of the gospel. 00:51:47.20\00:51:48.54 Should you want to make contact with Chris Lang, 00:51:48.57\00:51:51.64 Lifestreams media, support this very, very worth while 00:51:51.67\00:51:55.81 and worthy project with your prayers 00:51:55.84\00:51:58.21 and with your finances, here's the information 00:51:58.25\00:52:00.98 that you're gonna need. 00:52:01.02\00:52:02.35 To contact Chris Lang, 00:52:04.75\00:52:06.15 or for more information about his ministry, 00:52:06.19\00:52:08.22 you can write to Lifestreams Media, 00:52:08.26\00:52:10.43 Post Office Box 608513, 00:52:10.46\00:52:13.83 Orlando, Florida, 32860. 00:52:13.86\00:52:17.50 That's Lifestreams Media, Post Office Box 608513, 00:52:17.53\00:52:22.27 Orlando, Florida, 32860. 00:52:22.30\00:52:25.71 Or call (407)494-3288. 00:52:25.74\00:52:30.11 That's (407)494-3288. 00:52:30.15\00:52:34.38 Or you can go online at lifestreams.org. 00:52:34.42\00:52:37.35 That's lifestreams.org. 00:52:37.39\00:52:39.79
