mom was 15 years old

sophomore in high school

and they were
faced with a big dilemma.

You know, I was born
in the same year that

the abortion was
legalized in the United States

and I don't think my mom ever
wrestled with that decision,

but she did keep it a secret
for eight and a half months

until I was
actually, almost born,

even from her parents.

And, so they had a
quick decision to make

and they decided to
put me up for adoption

my mom was very young

would be better to be adopted

themselves, my grandparents.

That's a difficult decision,

had a purpose in my life

even from the beginning.

result of an accident,

but yet God has seen
fit to allow me to live

and so I have been blessed

by the advantages
of Adventist Education,

the schooling that I've had,
the loving parents that I had,

all the way to the present,

to sitting here on this

You know, that's anything
of what God can do, isn't it?

were a result of an accident

God can take something,

to be able to have a child.

working of providence

there was pastor that they knew,

another friend
that found out about

this other situation
with my biological family

and agreed to serve
as a kind of go-between

to carry me from
one family to the other

and, so that I could be

a lot of me picking on her.

And, so I've been able to attend

Seventh-day Adventist schools
all the way through college.

And, I know that's made

an eternal
difference in my life.

Now when you got to college,
I just want to touch on this

'cause it's going to come

you were starting out in

I got some counsel
from a godly friend

to go in education
because my own experience

in Adventist
Education was so rich,

with so many friends and
also faculty members that

just took a
personal interest in me,

that I though I
would love to go back

and be able to be
in that same position

to give back to
other young people

that are in that
developmental stage

when they're not
sure what they want to do

with their life
and what God might

want for them to do.

And, so I've been
working in Adventist Education

now seventeen and a half years.

high royal privilege.

was there something missing

that I was surrounded

very Laodicean lifestyle.

you know, major reed-flag sins,

message to the Laodicean church,

they think that they are okay

but they have
the spiritual poverty

working as a history teacher

That's a difficult decision.

It was very difficult.

I was asked to do the
final vespers of our school year

it lives and abides being born,
