00:01 And that's good information.
00:02 Elder, we've talked a lot about the sanctuary 00:04 but I want you to grab that Revelation book there, 00:07 because I think of the three 00:10 the one that perhaps has the most difficult material 00:13 to wrestle with is Revelation. 00:17 You talked on something before that when you write 00:19 you don't write as the be all the end all, 00:22 you have to think 00:23 like I think believe what I believe 00:24 we're not gonna go to heaven, 00:26 and yet you have very strong opinions 00:28 because you've studied. 00:30 What is the mindset that when you are writing a book 00:33 and a reader is sitting before you, what's the mindset 00:35 that you have as far as that reader? 00:37 Is it, I just want you to be enlightened. 00:39 I want to store your thinking. 00:40 I want you to think what I, what I think? 00:43 What's going on in your head 00:44 when you are trying to lead a reader to truth? 00:46 What goes on in my head is, do I understand it? 00:51 Do I understand what I'm explaining here? 00:54 And if-- can I explain it in simple language, 00:58 simple English that they can understand, 01:01 so that when a person sits down and read it, 01:04 they should be able to understand 01:05 what it's talking about 01:07 and I don't think God gave us something 01:10 that couldn't be understood, you know. 01:12 And I don't have to have a degree in Hebrew 01:15 or degree in Greek to be able to understand it. 01:18 It's English, I can understand English. 01:21 So that's basically what I'm trying to do is 01:25 explain what it's talking about. 01:27 There are some areas of Revelation 01:30 that are subject to debate 01:34 and probably will be till Christ comes. 01:35 Has your mindset on Revelation in general 01:39 changed over the years? 01:40 Have you grown in yourself, 01:41 in your understanding of some of the more difficult passages? 01:43 Oh, without a question, you know, several times. 01:46 Not just once, several times 01:49 and it's just a matter of keeping your heart 01:52 and your mind open and as you grow, 01:55 you know, if you're studying all didn't 01:59 bring about growth, you are missing something. 02:02 And so as you grow, you get clear view of it 02:05 and so many times it clears your view and you say, 02:08 now I understand what that's talking about. 02:11 I look back over some things I've taught very early on. 02:14 You come out of school, you figure 02:15 you've got all the answers, you know everything 02:17 and you look back and you say, what was I thinking, you know, 02:20 and you got to apologize to the Lord. 02:22 You know, Lord I was little brash. 02:24 And our pioneers grew, Ellen White grew, 02:26 James White grew, Uriah Smith grew 02:29 and changed some of their thinking. 02:31 So it's good to know that that when you write, 02:33 you are writing as a person who is growing, who is learning 02:35 as a fellow traveler as it were on the road to understanding. 02:39 Absolutely. Yeah. 02:40 And you know, I hope that the insights 02:44 that I share are helpful to them. 02:46 I hope that it will help them grow 02:47 in their Christian experience, 02:49 you know, but they need to just read it, 02:51 they need to understand it 02:53 that it is not enough for me to tell you 02:55 this is what it says, 02:56 you need to read it and understand it for yourself. 02:59 Well, Pastor Cox, 03:00 it's been great to visit with you 03:02 and to talk about the sanctuary and this new book 03:06 and all of your books especially Revelation 03:10 that we had little time with and Daniel. 03:12 I've gonna have to be honest with you, 03:14 I think your contribution here 03:16 on the sanctuary is your greatest yet. 03:19 Thank you so much for joining us. 03:21 Thank you for your support. 03:23 May God bless you, keep on, keeping on with Jesus. |
