Good to be here. 00:01:38.48\00:01:40.69 And we've got a very special guest. 00:01:40.72\00:01:42.00 Yes, we do. 00:01:42.03\00:01:43.06 Who has yet another book, 00:01:43.09\00:01:44.90 he has become rather prolific in last several years. 00:01:44.93\00:01:47.41 He's always been prolific but he's been 00:01:47.44\00:01:49.20 pro-prolific dare I say in the last little bit. 00:01:49.23\00:01:52.41 Ken Cox is with us again and he's got a brand new book 00:01:52.44\00:01:55.50 that we want to talk about 00:01:55.53\00:01:56.57 because we are very, very excited about it 00:01:56.60\00:01:58.49 and it joins a series of books that are really 00:01:58.52\00:02:01.57 timely information for God's people, Jim. 00:02:01.60\00:02:03.57 You know, I'm not sure 00:02:03.60\00:02:05.19 that I have the exact record and numbers 00:02:05.22\00:02:07.93 but I believe that Kenneth Cox has probably spoken on 3ABN 00:02:07.96\00:02:13.97 more than any other speaker who is not a part of our staff. 00:02:14.00\00:02:18.04 And so when you watch 3ABN you often 00:02:18.07\00:02:23.42 are confronted with the ministry of Kenneth Cox 00:02:23.45\00:02:27.03 and I say confronted from this standpoint, 00:02:27.06\00:02:30.06 Kenneth makes you think. 00:02:30.09\00:02:31.37 He does. 00:02:31.40\00:02:32.43 And when he presents a subject, a doctrine 00:02:32.46\00:02:36.44 he himself has done a lot of thinking, 00:02:36.47\00:02:39.42 a lot of planning, a lot of studying. 00:02:39.45\00:02:41.56 I've been privileged at times to be nearby 00:02:41.59\00:02:45.10 when he was preparing a series and I want to tell you 00:02:45.13\00:02:48.68 he is the most highly organized individual 00:02:48.71\00:02:51.17 that I've ever known. 00:02:51.20\00:02:52.23 There is only one other person that even comes close to him 00:02:52.26\00:02:55.75 in my book as far as organization 00:02:55.78\00:02:58.43 and he can study a subject more thoroughly 00:02:58.46\00:03:02.39 than any individual that I've ever met. 00:03:02.42\00:03:05.09 So when he told me 00:03:05.12\00:03:07.36 that he was going to prepare a book on the sanctuary, 00:03:07.39\00:03:10.30 I got excited about it, C.A. 00:03:10.33\00:03:11.98 Yeah, it's an excited thing. 00:03:12.01\00:03:13.23 There are couple of names that you tend to hear 00:03:13.26\00:03:15.26 as you will know, when you talk about the spiritual gift 00:03:15.29\00:03:18.60 to make the complex plain. 00:03:18.63\00:03:20.78 You hear Doug Batchelor, you hear Ken Cox. 00:03:20.81\00:03:24.54 These are men who can take 00:03:24.57\00:03:25.61 what can be fairly weighty subjects 00:03:25.64\00:03:27.91 and make them digestible dare I say for the common man-- 00:03:27.94\00:03:31.83 And then Ken Cox is writing does that also. 00:03:31.86\00:03:34.43 Absolutely. So we welcome you, Kenneth. 00:03:34.46\00:03:36.30 Thank you. 00:03:36.33\00:03:37.36 We are so happy because you are joining with us. 00:03:37.39\00:03:39.28 Kenneth, good to have you with us. 00:03:39.31\00:03:41.68 And in case some of you may have tuned in 00:03:41.71\00:03:43.72 and you do not know Kenneth Cox. 00:03:43.75\00:03:46.79 He has held evangelistic series 00:03:46.82\00:03:50.04 all over the known world pretty much. 00:03:50.07\00:03:54.72 Australia, South America, even into Russia, 00:03:54.75\00:03:59.15 of course here in the United States. 00:03:59.18\00:04:01.29 I know that John Carter one time told me, 00:04:01.32\00:04:03.52 he said, you know, John said, I hold two meetings a year 00:04:03.55\00:04:08.09 and he says I just spin myself in those two meetings 00:04:08.12\00:04:13.01 but at that time Kenneth was holding at least 00:04:13.04\00:04:16.33 six full evangelistic meetings every year. 00:04:16.36\00:04:20.49 And I remember John saying to me, 00:04:20.52\00:04:22.44 I just don't know how he does it 00:04:22.47\00:04:25.12 because it requires so much energy 00:04:25.15\00:04:28.39 to do one of these large city wide crusades. 00:04:28.42\00:04:32.08 There is so much to it than just the speaking. 00:04:32.11\00:04:35.15 You have a lot of counseling, lot of visiting, 00:04:35.18\00:04:37.38 a lot of other commitments that come to you 00:04:37.41\00:04:40.01 in a meeting like that. 00:04:40.04\00:04:41.40 And so I along with John Carter marvel 00:04:41.43\00:04:45.68 at the energy that God has given this man. 00:04:45.71\00:04:48.63 About how many of these series have you conducted now? 00:04:48.66\00:04:51.24 Do you have an estimation? 00:04:51.27\00:04:52.96 Jim. 00:04:56.16\00:04:57.26 Two hundred I would imagine. Yeah, at least 200. 00:04:58.77\00:05:01.52 I don't have any idea, never try to keep counting. 00:05:01.55\00:05:04.03 Because I have held a hundred and I know you've doubled me 00:05:04.06\00:05:07.53 at least with the number of meetings that you held. 00:05:07.56\00:05:09.73 At least 200. 00:05:09.76\00:05:10.79 You know, I think just as the pastoral calling 00:05:10.82\00:05:13.63 is a specific gift, obviously the call to evangelism 00:05:13.67\00:05:18.54 is a specific gift for which God equips the men 00:05:18.57\00:05:21.58 and they are not the same. 00:05:21.61\00:05:22.64 No. 00:05:22.67\00:05:23.70 Evangelists don't always make good pastors. 00:05:23.73\00:05:25.59 And pastors don't always make good evangelists. 00:05:25.62\00:05:27.08 They are two separate gifts. 00:05:27.11\00:05:28.40 Absolutely. Yeah. I's rare. 00:05:28.43\00:05:30.09 Sometimes you'll find a unique individual 00:05:30.12\00:05:33.10 who does pretty well at both 00:05:33.13\00:05:34.68 but usually that is rare and far between. 00:05:34.71\00:05:39.60 I think Kenneth would have been a good pastor 00:05:39.63\00:05:42.09 or evangelist but he felt so called to evangelism 00:05:42.12\00:05:47.29 that he was wanting to be here and there 00:05:47.32\00:05:52.04 and holding more meetings. 00:05:52.07\00:05:55.03 I don't know how to explain it, it's just the fire 00:05:55.06\00:05:57.18 and you want to go out 00:05:57.21\00:05:58.83 and proclaim the message, you know. 00:05:58.86\00:06:01.40 It's just what the Lord gives you, He puts in you. 00:06:01.43\00:06:04.25 You know, the subject of the sanctuary, 00:06:04.28\00:06:06.67 Kenneth, is a subject that is really vital for today. 00:06:06.70\00:06:11.71 Because one of the things that happen with the Jewish people 00:06:11.74\00:06:16.92 is that they lost sight of the sanctuary service. 00:06:16.95\00:06:22.10 The reason they missed Jesus 00:06:22.13\00:06:24.29 is that they did not truly understand the sanctuary. 00:06:24.32\00:06:28.23 That's right. 00:06:28.26\00:06:29.29 And I believe that a lot of people 00:06:29.32\00:06:30.98 are missing Jesus today 00:06:31.01\00:06:33.63 because they don't understand the sanctuary 00:06:33.66\00:06:36.70 and if the sanctuary gives us the full understanding 00:06:36.73\00:06:41.61 of the ministry of Jesus Christ. 00:06:41.64\00:06:43.60 Absolutely. 00:06:43.63\00:06:44.67 So let's get into the book a little bit 00:06:44.70\00:06:47.14 and I want you to tell us some-- 00:06:47.17\00:06:49.15 about some of the chapters, some of the things that 00:06:49.18\00:06:51.76 you talk about in that book. 00:06:51.79\00:06:53.18 I have two things before you start and not to cut you off. 00:06:53.21\00:06:55.57 What did you see as lacking in the church 00:06:55.60\00:06:58.11 that drove you to write that book 00:06:58.14\00:06:59.55 because Jim articulated I think very, very well. 00:06:59.58\00:07:01.78 Did you feel that same way about our church 00:07:01.81\00:07:03.46 as far as losing its own hold on one of our key doctrines? 00:07:03.49\00:07:06.54 Well, I felt the things that were vital 00:07:06.57\00:07:10.35 to us as a church was the Three Angels' Messages. 00:07:10.38\00:07:14.45 Felt we needed to know those, understand them, 00:07:14.48\00:07:19.04 understand that we are not like any other church 00:07:19.07\00:07:22.85 that we are specially called people 00:07:22.88\00:07:25.36 to proclaim a particular message to the world. 00:07:25.39\00:07:28.46 And I felt you can't do that, you can't understand it 00:07:28.49\00:07:32.18 unless you can understand Daniel and Revelation. 00:07:32.21\00:07:35.75 You got to have kind of hold on those 00:07:35.78\00:07:38.95 and then you are not really gonna understand 00:07:38.98\00:07:42.18 Daniel and Revelation 00:07:42.21\00:07:43.55 unless you understand the sanctuary. 00:07:43.58\00:07:45.87 And so that was my reason for writing it. 00:07:45.90\00:07:50.44 It just bothered me, 00:07:50.47\00:07:51.51 I went back and read book after book. 00:07:51.54\00:07:53.97 But many books which are great books 00:07:54.00\00:07:56.57 are dissertations that thick 00:07:56.60\00:07:59.50 and I thought average men on the streets 00:07:59.53\00:08:01.86 is not gonna dig through that. 00:08:01.89\00:08:03.84 Just not gonna do it. 00:08:03.87\00:08:04.93 So I said, let's put out something there 00:08:04.96\00:08:06.95 that they can read and understand, 00:08:06.98\00:08:08.78 that will explain it to them. 00:08:08.81\00:08:10.46 And so that was the reason for it. 00:08:10.49\00:08:12.97 You titled your series and we have them here 00:08:13.00\00:08:16.29 "Daniel, Revelation and Sanctuary Pure and Simple." 00:08:16.32\00:08:19.36 Why pure and simple? 00:08:19.39\00:08:21.02 Well, I wanted it to be what the Bible taught, 00:08:21.05\00:08:23.91 pure in what the Bible taught 00:08:23.94\00:08:26.12 and in the average Jobs language 00:08:26.15\00:08:29.90 that you can understand, you know, 00:08:29.93\00:08:31.35 I didn't want put in lot of theological terms 00:08:31.38\00:08:34.02 and that kind of stuff which you can do, you know. 00:08:34.05\00:08:36.37 It depends on how you say it. 00:08:36.40\00:08:38.78 You know, you can say 00:08:38.81\00:08:40.88 don't count your chickens for the hatchery, you can say 00:08:40.91\00:08:43.29 don't count your feather progeny 00:08:43.32\00:08:44.91 before the time of incubation is fully being consummated. 00:08:44.94\00:08:47.84 Yeah, it just depends on how you want to say it. 00:08:47.87\00:08:51.23 And so I want to make it simple so they can understand it. 00:08:51.26\00:08:55.29 How long did it take you to do that, do that writing? 00:08:55.32\00:08:57.20 On sanctuary? 00:08:57.23\00:08:58.55 Took me about a year. About a year. 00:08:58.58\00:09:00.33 And of course that was writing Daniel and Revelation both 00:09:00.36\00:09:05.12 and the Sanctuary just something that God 00:09:05.15\00:09:06.89 put on my heart 00:09:06.92\00:09:08.47 and that was writing I as I felt I needed to-- 00:09:08.50\00:09:13.60 other words says it, I was moved, 00:09:13.63\00:09:15.58 I had to be in the right mood to write it. 00:09:15.61\00:09:18.05 It wasn't something I probably could have written 00:09:18.08\00:09:20.16 the book if I would have, you know, 00:09:20.19\00:09:22.18 sat down and stayed after hour and after, 00:09:22.21\00:09:24.68 I didn't want to do that. 00:09:24.71\00:09:25.74 I want to write it so that we are not-- 00:09:25.77\00:09:28.04 was moved on the subject I could write about it. 00:09:28.07\00:09:31.87 So that's what we did. 00:09:31.90\00:09:32.99 Now, Jim, threw out a number for you about 200 meetings, 00:09:33.02\00:09:35.51 about a 100 for himself, 00:09:35.54\00:09:36.57 only about half that maybe 45 meetings, 00:09:36.60\00:09:40.07 the burden to make it simple in these last days 00:09:40.10\00:09:44.85 and I think you can respond to that too little bit. 00:09:44.88\00:09:46.56 As an evangelist you wanted-- 00:09:46.59\00:09:47.90 you want the people to understand 00:09:47.93\00:09:49.50 what you are saying. 00:09:49.53\00:09:50.85 You don't want to keep it above their heads, 00:09:50.88\00:09:52.08 you want to feed them. 00:09:52.11\00:09:53.27 So I guess that made its way 00:09:53.30\00:09:54.84 into everything you put into that book also. 00:09:54.87\00:09:56.52 Absolutely. Yeah. 00:09:56.55\00:09:57.61 That's the purpose. 00:09:57.64\00:09:59.47 And it's written so that for-- 00:09:59.50\00:10:02.55 I didn't intend for this day be what's happening. 00:10:02.58\00:10:06.26 I wrote the book like I said for the average individual 00:10:06.29\00:10:09.67 but I found that as the book finished up 00:10:09.70\00:10:12.82 that it became a great book for church study groups. 00:10:12.85\00:10:17.24 Because it has 15 chapters in it 00:10:17.27\00:10:19.73 and they can take one a week 00:10:19.76\00:10:21.01 as a study group and take them through the sanctuary 00:10:21.04\00:10:23.81 and it's written so a person can read it 00:10:23.84\00:10:25.78 and also discuss it. 00:10:25.81\00:10:27.66 So I think if a church wants to study 00:10:27.69\00:10:31.19 the sanctuary this is the great way to study it. 00:10:31.22\00:10:34.31 Now back to Jim's question. 00:10:34.34\00:10:35.72 I apologize for sort of jumping in there. 00:10:35.75\00:10:38.38 Walk us through some of the chapters and what 00:10:38.41\00:10:40.33 we are actually looking at once we get into the book. 00:10:40.36\00:10:42.36 Well, I tried to just go through the sanctuary. 00:10:42.39\00:10:46.04 That's what I tried to do in the book. 00:10:46.07\00:10:47.89 So I start right at the beginning with the court 00:10:47.92\00:10:52.36 and I just simply explain about the court what it was, 00:10:52.39\00:10:56.07 you know, and how the court was around the tabernacle 00:10:56.10\00:10:59.62 and I talk about the altar, the brazen altar, 00:10:59.65\00:11:02.86 the altar of sacrifice and I talk about the laver 00:11:02.89\00:11:06.06 and I talk about what they were like, 00:11:06.09\00:11:08.88 what they look like and what they meant 00:11:08.91\00:11:11.50 and how they apply to us today, 00:11:11.53\00:11:14.49 you know, and so we make that application. 00:11:14.52\00:11:16.61 For instance if I'm talking about the laver, 00:11:16.64\00:11:18.92 I go back and what Jesus said, 00:11:18.95\00:11:21.70 I'm the water of life and talk about how that, 00:11:21.73\00:11:25.84 there is something there. 00:11:25.87\00:11:26.90 This in the sanctuary served us without a doubt 00:11:26.93\00:11:30.24 which Jim talked about is the greatest gospel lesson 00:11:30.27\00:11:35.21 in the Old Testament. 00:11:35.24\00:11:36.91 I mean, it lays out the plan of salvation 00:11:36.94\00:11:40.53 clearer than anything else. 00:11:40.56\00:11:43.57 There were, you know, I will tell you something 00:11:43.60\00:11:46.54 I ran into as I was studying and I had never caught it before 00:11:46.57\00:11:49.96 and I couldn't understand it 00:11:49.99\00:11:51.95 and that is where it speaks about them 00:11:51.98\00:11:54.03 offering a sacrifice of fat. 00:11:54.06\00:11:58.02 For instance when they killed the lamb, 00:11:58.05\00:12:01.07 the individual was not only responsible to lay his hands 00:12:01.10\00:12:04.24 on the head of the lamb and take its life 00:12:04.27\00:12:07.33 but also before they offered it, 00:12:07.36\00:12:09.13 the priest cut it open 00:12:09.16\00:12:10.48 and it was that person individual to take the fat out. 00:12:10.51\00:12:14.30 Had to take all the fat out of the lamb and put that on a-- 00:12:14.33\00:12:18.27 on the altar and burn it. 00:12:18.30\00:12:19.86 And then the scripture says it was a sweet aroma to the Lord. 00:12:21.04\00:12:24.84 Burning fat has never been a sweet aroma. 00:12:26.05\00:12:29.82 You know, it isn't. 00:12:29.85\00:12:31.60 So what does it mean when it says 00:12:31.63\00:12:33.29 it was a sweet aroma to the Lord? 00:12:33.32\00:12:35.83 Well, fat is a symbol of sin 00:12:35.86\00:12:39.23 and it was taken all the fat out of the body of the lamb 00:12:39.26\00:12:43.40 and burned it, disposing of it, getting rid of it 00:12:43.43\00:12:47.89 as a symbol of sin how God is gonna get rid of sin. 00:12:47.92\00:12:52.42 So it had a great, 00:12:52.45\00:12:54.24 that was a sweet aroma to the Lord, you know. 00:12:54.27\00:12:58.05 Very powerful. 00:12:58.08\00:12:59.58 I've always felt that and I've thought that, 00:12:59.61\00:13:01.24 I'm some sure you guys add to that, 00:13:01.27\00:13:02.52 when since the children of Israel 00:13:02.55\00:13:05.14 were probably most part illiterate. 00:13:05.17\00:13:07.43 When they went to the sanctuary, 00:13:07.46\00:13:09.45 when they went to church, when they assembled 00:13:09.48\00:13:10.72 they were also going to school 00:13:10.75\00:13:12.27 that God was teaching them and I don't know 00:13:12.30\00:13:14.69 if there is a more highly symbolic reality 00:13:14.72\00:13:16.75 than the sanctuary. 00:13:16.78\00:13:17.83 Everything was a lesson, every color, every, 00:13:17.86\00:13:20.18 you know, every text, everything was a lesson. 00:13:20.21\00:13:23.62 So in your study I guess you found that also. 00:13:23.65\00:13:26.38 Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. 00:13:26.41\00:13:28.05 Lessons in there almost you can continually go back 00:13:28.08\00:13:32.18 and study and study and you learn and you learn 00:13:32.21\00:13:34.46 and you learn over and over. 00:13:34.49\00:13:36.94 And so anyhow, I just take the people through the court 00:13:36.97\00:13:40.18 and explain what it means, 00:13:40.21\00:13:42.15 I'll go and explain the tabernacle. 00:13:42.18\00:13:45.23 And explain the tabernacle and the first compartment 00:13:45.26\00:13:48.29 and second compartment 00:13:48.32\00:13:49.53 and what each piece of furniture represented 00:13:49.56\00:13:52.20 and how it applied and even as you get into the veil 00:13:52.23\00:13:56.75 and the colors in the veil and all had symbolic meaning. 00:13:56.78\00:14:01.36 They represented something 00:14:01.39\00:14:03.16 and so it was a lesson to all of the people 00:14:03.19\00:14:07.28 as they went through it and learned 00:14:07.31\00:14:09.56 what it was all about. 00:14:09.59\00:14:11.90 The sanctuary inside was gorgeous. 00:14:11.93\00:14:17.56 I mean, really gorgeous. 00:14:17.59\00:14:20.53 For a portable tabernacle 00:14:20.56\00:14:23.52 it's almost more than you can describe in its beauty. 00:14:23.55\00:14:27.30 I mean, if you could imagine walking in this room 00:14:27.33\00:14:30.02 and here is golden panels all the way around it 00:14:30.05\00:14:33.70 and the light reflecting on it, it just it was gorgeous in it. 00:14:33.73\00:14:38.74 But this interesting thing about it is, 00:14:38.77\00:14:42.12 they had these four different coverings 00:14:42.15\00:14:45.13 put over the top of it 00:14:45.16\00:14:47.34 and those went clear over it and down to the ground 00:14:47.37\00:14:50.56 and they were everything but beautiful. 00:14:50.59\00:14:53.48 So when you looked at the sanctuary 00:14:53.51\00:14:55.18 from the outside, 00:14:55.21\00:14:56.39 didn't look like anything at all 00:14:58.30\00:15:00.58 and I think there was two reasons for that. 00:15:00.61\00:15:02.70 I think one, it kept people from trying to raid the camp 00:15:02.73\00:15:05.81 and take it that so they put these skins over it 00:15:05.84\00:15:09.17 and just the badger's skin just a dull brown, 00:15:09.20\00:15:13.16 it was over the whole thing, you know, so it didn't look. 00:15:13.19\00:15:16.93 But you had to go inside, 00:15:16.96\00:15:18.94 when you went inside that whole picture changed, 00:15:18.97\00:15:22.65 okay. 00:15:22.68\00:15:23.74 Very, very descriptive of Christ. 00:15:25.07\00:15:29.68 Say, it says that we had, He had no beauty that we desired Him 00:15:29.71\00:15:34.99 and it's not the outward thing that God looks upon 00:15:35.02\00:15:38.71 but it's the heart, it's not the outward appearance. 00:15:38.74\00:15:41.58 And so those lessons are over and over and over 00:15:41.61\00:15:46.05 in the sanctuary and teaches, 00:15:46.08\00:15:48.97 you know, that we need to be concerned about our heart. 00:15:49.00\00:15:52.38 And what's happening there and what changes, 00:15:52.41\00:15:54.92 it's not the outward appearance, 00:15:54.95\00:15:57.01 its inward that makes a big difference. 00:15:57.04\00:15:59.71 We are as far as I know 00:16:01.22\00:16:03.15 the only major Protestant denomination 00:16:03.18\00:16:06.32 that really teaches sanctuary 00:16:06.35\00:16:07.89 as part of our doctrinal package. 00:16:07.92\00:16:09.57 I think it's our one gift to systematic theology. 00:16:09.60\00:16:13.14 Nobody has it like we do. That's right. 00:16:13.17\00:16:14.75 What is so important about the sanctuary 00:16:14.78\00:16:16.78 that God chose to plant that in the heart of the 00:16:16.81\00:16:19.70 Seventh-day Adventist church and do so fairly early? 00:16:19.73\00:16:22.45 Well, there are certain biblical beliefs that we have 00:16:22.48\00:16:26.04 that without the sanctuary you couldn't believe Him. 00:16:26.07\00:16:29.64 You know, you shouldn't be able to understand Him 00:16:29.67\00:16:32.01 that leaves you without it 00:16:32.04\00:16:33.53 and one is like the 2,300 days in Daniel 00:16:33.56\00:16:36.62 without the sanctuary and understanding 00:16:36.65\00:16:39.10 what went on there and the sanctuary. 00:16:39.13\00:16:41.81 you wouldn't understand it. 00:16:41.84\00:16:44.16 See I have meeting after meeting after meeting 00:16:44.19\00:16:47.77 and people come up to me and say 00:16:47.80\00:16:50.26 is there any hope for me? 00:16:50.29\00:16:52.69 Can I be saved? Has probation closed for me? 00:16:52.72\00:16:58.59 And this type of thing. 00:16:58.62\00:17:00.74 If you read and understand the sanctuary 00:17:00.77\00:17:03.62 you understand that the door of mercy is still open 00:17:03.65\00:17:09.97 and will stay open until Jesus comes. 00:17:10.00\00:17:13.15 For instance when the high priest 00:17:13.18\00:17:15.94 went into the sanctuary on the Day of Atonement 00:17:15.97\00:17:20.00 when he went there and he parted the veil 00:17:20.03\00:17:21.75 and went into the most holy place, 00:17:21.78\00:17:25.30 offered the blood there, made the sacrifice and so-- 00:17:25.33\00:17:29.16 sacrifice and everything there. 00:17:29.19\00:17:31.64 After he did that and I never caught this before 00:17:31.67\00:17:34.40 until I was studying this when he came out of there to go out 00:17:34.43\00:17:38.77 and put the sins upon the scapegoat 00:17:38.80\00:17:42.55 but when he came out there, he didn't go directly, 00:17:42.58\00:17:45.56 he went over to the altar of incense 00:17:45.59\00:17:48.33 and cleansed the altar of incense, 00:17:48.36\00:17:50.85 then he went out to the altar of sacrifice 00:17:50.88\00:17:53.82 and did a cleansing on the altar of sacrifice 00:17:53.85\00:17:56.47 before he place his hands on the scapegoat. 00:17:56.50\00:17:59.75 Showing that if there was any sins committed after 00:17:59.78\00:18:04.12 it happened there in the most holy place 00:18:04.15\00:18:06.64 there was still forgiveness. 00:18:06.67\00:18:08.70 You know, and so it answers the question, 00:18:08.73\00:18:12.79 you know, is there hope for me? 00:18:12.82\00:18:13.85 You better believe there is. 00:18:13.88\00:18:15.00 Yeah. Yeah. 00:18:15.03\00:18:16.18 So it appears as that one of the-- 00:18:16.21\00:18:19.59 dare I say side benefits of the study of the sanctuary. 00:18:19.62\00:18:22.78 Is that a kind of places you will we are in time 00:18:22.81\00:18:25.98 and lets you know kind of, 00:18:26.01\00:18:28.75 well, not only what's going on heaven 00:18:28.78\00:18:30.84 but also what's going on, on planet earth? 00:18:30.87\00:18:33.38 Yeah. Yeah. 00:18:33.41\00:18:34.44 And certainly it teaches and you understand it 00:18:34.47\00:18:40.36 as you understand the sanctuary that there is 00:18:40.39\00:18:43.54 no such, such thing as salvation by works. 00:18:43.57\00:18:47.67 I mean, over and over and over it stress the fact 00:18:47.70\00:18:51.60 that this is given as a gift to us 00:18:51.63\00:18:55.18 through the Lord Jesus Christ and they understood that. 00:18:55.21\00:18:58.20 So when they lost sight of that, they lost sight of it 00:18:58.23\00:19:01.53 and they missed when Jesus came. 00:19:01.56\00:19:03.87 Yeah. Yeah. 00:19:03.90\00:19:05.10 Do you think the world-- 00:19:05.13\00:19:06.41 that church is in danger of losing sight of that again 00:19:06.44\00:19:09.32 that we may be slipping back into our works 00:19:09.35\00:19:11.32 or into kind of mentality? 00:19:11.35\00:19:13.39 Well, all I can say is C.A., I've held lots of meetings 00:19:13.42\00:19:18.47 and I find when we hold meetings 00:19:18.50\00:19:20.92 our people know very little about the sanctuary. 00:19:20.95\00:19:24.95 You know, they just-- it's just and I go-- 00:19:24.98\00:19:29.00 I'm sorry, I don't mean this wrong in any way, 00:19:29.03\00:19:32.54 but they don't hear any sermons on it. 00:19:32.57\00:19:35.20 I don't hear it being preached and which to me it should be. 00:19:35.23\00:19:40.43 Yeah. Yeah. 00:19:40.46\00:19:41.88 Maybe the Lord is beginning to light a fire. 00:19:41.91\00:19:44.06 I know Jim was at GYC fairly recently 00:19:44.09\00:19:46.64 and we heard a powerful, passionate sermon 00:19:46.67\00:19:50.27 by a young preacher on sanctuary 00:19:50.30\00:19:53.31 and so maybe the Lord is lighting fires 00:19:53.34\00:19:55.26 in different areas, this book being one of those 00:19:55.29\00:19:58.36 fires to say, hey, let's go back 00:19:58.39\00:20:00.82 and find and rediscover the old and make it new. 00:20:00.85\00:20:04.88 Absolutely. 00:20:04.91\00:20:05.94 We need to and make a big, big difference 00:20:05.97\00:20:09.16 in people's relationship with Christ that we would. 00:20:09.19\00:20:12.43 Yeah. I think and I'm sure Jim would agree 00:20:12.46\00:20:15.07 that it would also take a lot of fear out of people's lives. 00:20:15.10\00:20:17.96 Yes. 00:20:17.99\00:20:19.36 Fear for themselves, fear for their families, 00:20:19.39\00:20:21.94 fear what's going on in heaven, fear how Christ use them 00:20:21.97\00:20:24.69 and what Christ is doing in their behalf even now. 00:20:24.72\00:20:26.99 Yes. Yeah. Yeah. 00:20:27.02\00:20:28.70 You know, it was marvelous what took place there 00:20:28.73\00:20:33.17 and what it meant in all and when that priest 00:20:33.20\00:20:37.28 went into the holy place, 00:20:37.31\00:20:40.15 you know, and offered the blood on the altar of sacrifice, 00:20:40.18\00:20:45.96 I mean the altar of incense and what the candlesticks 00:20:45.99\00:20:50.20 stood for and the table of showbread and all. 00:20:50.23\00:20:52.79 It answers lots of questions. 00:20:52.82\00:20:55.91 And it helps the people see and understand Christ, 00:20:55.94\00:21:01.59 what He is doing up in heaven in our behalf now. 00:21:01.62\00:21:04.50 And you can't deny 00:21:04.53\00:21:05.99 when the Book of Hebrew is full of it 00:21:06.02\00:21:08.56 about what Christ is doing up in heaven now 00:21:08.59\00:21:11.67 and it talks about Him in the sense of the priest, 00:21:11.70\00:21:14.21 you know. 00:21:14.24\00:21:15.27 So yes, it has to be something that 00:21:15.30\00:21:21.10 that will help them understand the gospel. 00:21:21.13\00:21:23.84 Jim and I heard a message not too long ago on this stage 00:21:23.87\00:21:26.71 and one of things the pastor was asking was the entire work 00:21:26.74\00:21:30.69 of atonement finished at the cross 00:21:30.72\00:21:33.87 and I think where he was going with that 00:21:33.90\00:21:35.72 is that there are some benefits to what happened on the cross 00:21:35.75\00:21:38.47 that are being ministered now in the sanctuary 00:21:38.50\00:21:41.35 and you don't understand that 00:21:41.38\00:21:42.99 until you look at the whole sanctuary, 00:21:43.02\00:21:44.44 the whole sanctuary message 00:21:44.47\00:21:45.86 and a whole loving the cross certainly open the door, 00:21:45.89\00:21:50.21 but now there are benefits to that death on the cross 00:21:50.24\00:21:52.46 that Christ is ministering in our behalf. 00:21:52.49\00:21:54.45 And without the cross, there will be no, no sanctuary. 00:21:54.48\00:21:59.20 Correct. I mean at all, 00:21:59.23\00:22:00.85 but the sanctuary is now of course in the heaven 00:22:00.88\00:22:04.69 and that our-- 00:22:04.72\00:22:06.32 we do have a high priest and it is Jesus Christ Himself. 00:22:06.35\00:22:11.45 Lot of people are looking for a temple 00:22:11.48\00:22:14.37 to be rebuilt in Israel. 00:22:14.40\00:22:16.78 Bible does not teach that 00:22:16.81\00:22:19.61 and if they built it, how would they-- 00:22:19.64\00:22:22.45 what would they do it, 00:22:22.48\00:22:23.73 it wouldn't have a high priest because 00:22:23.76\00:22:26.70 the choice of a high priest is something that 00:22:26.73\00:22:30.67 just wouldn't happen today. 00:22:30.70\00:22:32.29 You couldn't even arrive at who that person would be 00:22:32.32\00:22:36.75 and you don't have to do that 00:22:36.78\00:22:38.16 because we already have a high priest, 00:22:38.19\00:22:40.76 it's Jesus Christ our Lord and our God 00:22:40.79\00:22:45.24 and He is serving in the sanctuary in heaven. 00:22:45.27\00:22:49.12 Because this sanctuary here on earth 00:22:49.15\00:22:51.81 was a pattern of what that is in heaven. 00:22:51.84\00:22:55.83 That's right. 00:22:55.86\00:22:56.89 And that's, you know, you either believe that 00:22:56.92\00:22:59.63 or you don't but that's what the Bible says. 00:22:59.66\00:23:01.55 Yeah, and you can't, you can't read the Book of Hebrews 00:23:01.58\00:23:05.11 and not face that. 00:23:05.14\00:23:07.25 You got to face that there is a sanctuary in all-- 00:23:07.28\00:23:10.34 and one in the heaven 00:23:10.37\00:23:11.79 what you are going to do with it? 00:23:11.82\00:23:13.36 You know, you can't throw it out. 00:23:13.39\00:23:14.93 It's like throwing the baby out with the bath water. 00:23:14.96\00:23:16.82 In fact, there is no sanctuary on earth anymore. 00:23:16.85\00:23:20.09 It is in heaven. Yeah. 00:23:20.12\00:23:21.56 And there was, the reality there was a sanctuary on earth, 00:23:21.59\00:23:25.66 it became the temple, they moved that inside 00:23:25.69\00:23:29.42 and built a permanent place for it 00:23:29.45\00:23:31.86 and the patter was very similar to that-- 00:23:31.89\00:23:34.76 in fact, the holy place and most holy place 00:23:34.79\00:23:38.86 exact dimensions of what 00:23:38.89\00:23:40.78 the old sanctuary was in the desert. 00:23:40.81\00:23:43.33 Yes, it's a same as the sanctuary in the desert, 00:23:43.36\00:23:45.73 same as Solomon's temple. 00:23:45.76\00:23:47.56 Right. 00:23:47.59\00:23:48.63 So then this is what the Bible says is in heaven now 00:23:48.66\00:23:53.35 and our high priest is serving for us there. 00:23:53.38\00:23:56.31 And what some people would get tremendous comfort from 00:23:56.34\00:23:59.84 and great, great how should I say it, peace of heart 00:23:59.87\00:24:04.22 now as the Bible says that each one of us are to be priest 00:24:04.25\00:24:10.14 and in heaven it says we will be priest 00:24:10.17\00:24:14.53 and because we were minister there in the New Jerusalem. 00:24:14.56\00:24:18.57 It says there is no temple in the city. 00:24:18.60\00:24:21.64 Why isn't there a temple in the city? 00:24:21.67\00:24:23.97 Because the city is a temple, 00:24:24.00\00:24:27.32 that's why there is not one in there. 00:24:27.35\00:24:28.56 It's the city itself is a temple 00:24:28.59\00:24:30.70 and you and I will work there serving the Lord as priest. 00:24:30.73\00:24:35.98 Why? 00:24:36.01\00:24:37.22 Because we are the only ones in the entire universe 00:24:37.25\00:24:40.80 that can understand, totally and completely the grace of God 00:24:40.83\00:24:44.48 and what He has done for us and so God has laid it upon us 00:24:44.51\00:24:48.43 to explain to the universe, 00:24:48.46\00:24:50.18 and to all the unfallen worlds what the grace of God is. 00:24:50.21\00:24:54.47 Praise God for that. 00:24:54.50\00:24:55.53 You know, there are so much evangelical thought and time 00:24:55.56\00:24:58.55 and energy put into are they are gonna built it 00:24:58.58\00:25:00.89 or they are gonna tear down the dome of the rock 00:25:00.92\00:25:02.44 or they are gonna put, you know, 00:25:02.47\00:25:03.53 and you realize once you understand that sanctuary 00:25:03.56\00:25:06.32 is that even if they did, it wouldn't mean anything 00:25:06.35\00:25:08.57 because action is in heaven. 00:25:08.60\00:25:10.09 You know, that's where the action is right now. 00:25:10.12\00:25:12.36 If they fought with the Muslim community 00:25:12.39\00:25:15.70 and tow everything down and put a temple up there 00:25:15.73\00:25:17.77 doesn't mean anything because Christ died once and for all. 00:25:17.80\00:25:20.93 The action is now in heaven for us. 00:25:20.96\00:25:23.13 So you understand that 00:25:23.16\00:25:24.56 when you really understand the sanctuary. You do. 00:25:24.59\00:25:27.49 Now that's how it puts it, begins to, 00:25:27.52\00:25:29.23 it just brings everything together for you. 00:25:29.26\00:25:32.04 Yeah, you see things and understand 00:25:32.07\00:25:34.54 where is a sacrifice except for one there was one other 00:25:34.57\00:25:38.61 but all the sacrifices were offered in the court. 00:25:38.64\00:25:42.14 There was no sacrifice offered in the tabernacle, 00:25:42.17\00:25:45.23 it's always in the court. 00:25:45.26\00:25:47.05 Well, Christ, they had been watching 00:25:47.08\00:25:49.35 was to be crucified outside the court. 00:25:49.38\00:25:54.29 See, that's what it made it clear, 00:25:54.32\00:25:56.30 they could have read the scripture 00:25:56.33\00:25:58.35 and known what was happening. 00:25:58.38\00:26:00.48 They could have known that, you know. 00:26:00.51\00:26:02.77 And as it was important then it is important now. 00:26:02.80\00:26:06.33 Now I want to touch on the couple of things 00:26:06.36\00:26:08.83 because there are two other books here, 00:26:08.86\00:26:10.76 I think Revelation came first? Yes. 00:26:10.79\00:26:12.53 Yes, Revelation came first and then 00:26:12.56\00:26:14.60 you got to do what you got to do. 00:26:14.63\00:26:17.81 You know that's true C.A, 00:26:17.84\00:26:20.63 but the truth of it is a person should study Daniel 00:26:20.66\00:26:25.27 before they study Revelation. 00:26:25.30\00:26:26.78 Very true. 00:26:26.81\00:26:28.40 But you went with Revelation first? 00:26:28.43\00:26:29.46 Yeah. 00:26:29.49\00:26:30.52 Well, you have done and of course 00:26:30.55\00:26:31.76 both of these have-- 00:26:31.79\00:26:32.83 you have DVD series that you've done on 3ABN. 00:26:32.86\00:26:36.48 Are you giving any thought to maybe doing a sanctuary? 00:26:36.51\00:26:38.53 Well, we thought some about it, yes, and I'd like too. 00:26:38.56\00:26:42.99 I think that we could make a series 00:26:43.02\00:26:45.76 that would be very helpful on the sanctuary. 00:26:45.79\00:26:48.57 Praise the Lord. Praise God. 00:26:48.60\00:26:50.02 So we hope so. Yeah. 00:26:50.05\00:26:51.69 Your Revelation series was very well done 00:26:51.72\00:26:54.49 and it was a long series. 00:26:54.52\00:26:56.25 So how long did it take you to do the book? 00:26:56.28\00:26:59.71 To write it? The one on Revelation? 00:26:59.74\00:27:02.06 On Revelation. 00:27:02.09\00:27:03.57 Oh, probably a couple of years. 00:27:03.60\00:27:05.33 Couple of years. Yeah. Yeah. 00:27:05.36\00:27:06.84 Imagine. Praise the Lord. 00:27:06.87\00:27:08.57 We filmed Give me the Bible at 3ABN, 00:27:08.60\00:27:13.31 that took a solid year to film it. 00:27:13.34\00:27:15.46 Oh, yes. You remember? 00:27:15.49\00:27:16.87 That's true. Yes. 00:27:16.90\00:27:18.22 Took a whole year filming. 00:27:18.25\00:27:19.31 Yeah. 00:27:19.34\00:27:20.37 So we would do five sessions once a month 00:27:20.40\00:27:24.85 and then you prepare the next ones and come back. 00:27:24.88\00:27:27.42 We'd be at 8 to 3 in the beginning. 00:27:27.45\00:27:28.57 You did 60 sessions. 00:27:28.60\00:27:29.97 That's right, every two weeks we were at 3ABN, you know. 00:27:30.00\00:27:34.04 Yeah. So it took a while. 00:27:34.07\00:27:36.68 And that was a blessing. Is a blessing. 00:27:36.71\00:27:37.96 It was. It was. It's a great series. 00:27:37.99\00:27:40.16 We have tremendous response on it, 00:27:40.19\00:27:42.56 so we are thankful for that. 00:27:42.59\00:27:44.77 And I personally think that our people 00:27:44.80\00:27:50.23 need to hear sermons on Daniel, Revelation and sanctuary. 00:27:50.26\00:27:58.23 I don't mean by that that's the only ones 00:27:58.26\00:28:01.04 but they should receive sermons, 00:28:01.07\00:28:04.58 our people should on those subjects 00:28:04.61\00:28:06.34 because they are reassuring, 00:28:06.37\00:28:07.96 they are helpful to the people to prepare their hearts 00:28:07.99\00:28:11.00 and help them be ready for the Lord's coming, 00:28:11.03\00:28:13.97 you know. 00:28:14.00\00:28:15.49 Your biography, autobiography is there also, very well done. 00:28:15.52\00:28:20.60 I've read it with pencil in hand 00:28:20.63\00:28:22.84 because it's hard for me to read a book without making 00:28:22.87\00:28:24.21 little underlines, little notes. 00:28:24.24\00:28:26.11 Do you know how many books you've written, Elder? 00:28:26.14\00:28:28.99 About seven now. 00:28:29.02\00:28:32.40 Usually on doctrinal things? 00:28:32.43\00:28:33.85 Well, more on doctrinal things than anything else. 00:28:35.91\00:28:38.39 Yeah. Yeah. Anything else, yeah. 00:28:38.42\00:28:40.23 Yeah. 00:28:40.26\00:28:41.57 Really, really, well done. 00:28:41.60\00:28:45.26 And you don't-- I will say this, 00:28:45.29\00:28:47.12 don't mind waiting into the tough stuff. 00:28:47.15\00:28:49.92 You know, there is some little controversy 00:28:49.95\00:28:51.70 at the back end of Daniel and then 00:28:51.73\00:28:53.61 you got some controversy in the middle of Revelation 00:28:53.64\00:28:56.12 and you don't skip over that stuff. 00:28:56.15\00:28:57.33 You weighed right, weighed right into it. 00:28:57.36\00:28:59.43 You know, I just want to say this. 00:28:59.46\00:29:02.79 You can study it 00:29:02.82\00:29:04.48 and you can come to the place where you feel like 00:29:04.51\00:29:06.80 you have a grasp on what it's saying, you know, 00:29:06.83\00:29:09.99 but you have to understand that's not the final word. 00:29:10.02\00:29:13.55 You know, you have to understand that 00:29:13.58\00:29:15.86 there maybe something you'll learn in the future 00:29:15.89\00:29:18.06 that changes your concept about that. 00:29:18.09\00:29:20.84 And I think people who write a book and think that's last 00:29:20.87\00:29:25.70 and final word are missing the point, you know. 00:29:25.73\00:29:29.09 Sure, I hope what I've written is helpful to people 00:29:29.12\00:29:32.02 but I don't believe for any minutes 00:29:32.05\00:29:34.66 that these are the final word on it, on the subject. 00:29:34.69\00:29:39.16 And there are some people who have 00:29:39.19\00:29:40.23 very, very strong convictions that if you don't believe 00:29:40.26\00:29:42.67 like they believe well, you are in trouble. 00:29:42.70\00:29:45.83 I don't buy that. 00:29:45.86\00:29:47.15 I just don't buy that. 00:29:47.18\00:29:48.22 I think you have, you need to read and understand 00:29:48.25\00:29:51.16 until you are clear but that doesn't mean you can't learn, 00:29:51.19\00:29:56.25 you know, and so we keep trying, 00:29:56.28\00:29:58.41 trying to learn more and more. 00:29:58.44\00:30:00.91 I've written one called "Daily Devotional Diary" 00:30:00.94\00:30:03.97 which is just really for people's devotion on that. 00:30:04.00\00:30:08.19 I've written another one 00:30:08.22\00:30:09.53 "Quick Answers to Bible Questions" 00:30:09.56\00:30:11.73 and those are different books I've written other than these. 00:30:11.76\00:30:15.60 And I just finished one for Pacific Press 00:30:15.63\00:30:20.51 that will be coming out here I guess this year. 00:30:20.54\00:30:24.36 What's the name of that book? 00:30:24.39\00:30:26.85 I called it, I titled it, I'm not sure 00:30:26.88\00:30:29.32 that will stay that Jim, 00:30:29.35\00:30:30.49 because it's their book not mine 00:30:30.52\00:30:33.11 but I called it the 7, 7, the Four Winds of Revelation 7. 00:30:33.14\00:30:38.25 Okay. 00:30:38.28\00:30:39.31 Four Winds of Revelation 7 00:30:39.34\00:30:40.97 And it's a book about current events. 00:30:41.00\00:30:43.41 What's happening and what's taking place now, 00:30:43.44\00:30:46.29 you know. 00:30:46.32\00:30:47.54 So we try to do that-- and I only do those books 00:30:47.57\00:30:51.81 that's kind of Lord lays it on my heart. 00:30:51.84\00:30:55.46 Are you one who at this point 00:30:55.49\00:30:57.15 and I follow strange events pretty much 00:30:57.18\00:30:59.22 particular as they effect what we know 00:30:59.25\00:31:01.77 as the prophetic landscape? 00:31:01.80\00:31:02.92 Do you sort of keep your, 00:31:02.95\00:31:04.05 your finger on the pulse of that stuff? 00:31:04.08\00:31:05.83 I have studied prophecy long enough, C.A., 00:31:05.86\00:31:08.46 that I couldn't do anything otherwise, 00:31:08.49\00:31:11.19 you know. 00:31:11.22\00:31:12.27 It is that you study it and you know 00:31:12.30\00:31:15.52 what it's saying and you see it happen and you say, 00:31:15.55\00:31:18.75 you better get your heart right, 00:31:18.78\00:31:20.52 the Lord is coming. 00:31:20.55\00:31:21.88 You know, better, better wake up. 00:31:21.91\00:31:24.59 Now I've never seen you though as an alarmist, 00:31:24.62\00:31:26.69 I mean, when I say that 00:31:26.72\00:31:28.82 there are some preachers every time 00:31:28.85\00:31:31.15 the Catholic Church needs is they catch cold. 00:31:31.18\00:31:33.19 You know, you kind of think that, 00:31:33.22\00:31:34.57 you know, you got that whole kind of mindset 00:31:34.60\00:31:36.83 but I think if you lay back 00:31:36.86\00:31:38.33 and kind of look at the big picture, 00:31:38.36\00:31:40.03 it keeps you from becoming crazy every time 00:31:40.06\00:31:42.96 there is a little itch or sneeze 00:31:42.99\00:31:44.32 some place in the world. 00:31:44.35\00:31:45.38 Right and there are events that have to take place 00:31:45.41\00:31:49.56 and you can see whether those events are taking place 00:31:49.59\00:31:52.29 and there is events they are in the future, you know. 00:31:52.32\00:31:55.42 And so when people start trying to predict, 00:31:55.45\00:31:58.15 this is gonna happen in a certain time. 00:31:58.18\00:32:01.35 No, you can't do that. 00:32:01.38\00:32:02.99 This is impossible but you can say 00:32:03.02\00:32:05.82 yeah, it's happening, 00:32:05.85\00:32:07.21 it's getting, the time is drawing near. 00:32:07.24\00:32:10.37 You know, you can't do that. 00:32:10.40\00:32:11.90 You know there are some people 00:32:11.93\00:32:13.27 who not only don't see that things are happening, 00:32:13.30\00:32:17.78 they don't realize when they have already happened. 00:32:17.81\00:32:20.53 So at least if you cannot predict 00:32:20.56\00:32:23.79 this is gonna happen, 00:32:23.82\00:32:25.24 you ought to recognize when it does or when it has 00:32:25.27\00:32:28.50 so that you are not left out in the cold 00:32:28.53\00:32:31.43 when it comes to understanding biblical events 00:32:31.46\00:32:34.68 and prophecy in the last days. 00:32:34.71\00:32:36.77 As Christ told disciples 00:32:36.80\00:32:38.75 I have shown these things to you 00:32:38.78\00:32:40.52 so that when they take place you could believe 00:32:40.55\00:32:43.98 and so studying prophecy should help me understand that 00:32:44.01\00:32:47.54 and be ready to know where I'm and where I'm going, you know. 00:32:47.57\00:32:51.85 When you look at our world today, 00:32:51.88\00:32:54.89 and I'm not asking you to predict the time 00:32:54.92\00:32:57.28 when Christ will return because I know you wouldn't 00:32:57.31\00:33:00.60 and that wouldn't be proper even to ask, 00:33:00.63\00:33:04.18 but we see things happening so rapidly 00:33:04.21\00:33:08.97 and have you ever in your lifetime 00:33:09.00\00:33:12.65 seen it this way before? 00:33:12.68\00:33:14.40 Never. Never, Jim. 00:33:14.43\00:33:17.75 I have never seen violence in the world as it is today. 00:33:17.78\00:33:22.38 Yeah. 00:33:22.41\00:33:23.47 We live in a very violent world 00:33:23.50\00:33:26.22 and you know, things that are happening 00:33:26.25\00:33:29.43 and taking place that Revelation 13, 00:33:29.46\00:33:33.59 Revelation 17 lay out clearly, 00:33:33.62\00:33:36.46 you see those things taking place 00:33:36.49\00:33:39.38 and you can just put it down they are taking place. 00:33:39.41\00:33:42.74 And this never happened in the past. 00:33:42.77\00:33:45.85 This wasn't there. 00:33:45.88\00:33:46.91 They can't say well, that happened. 00:33:46.94\00:33:48.27 No, that didn't happened in the past. 00:33:48.30\00:33:50.36 They are happening now and we have to, 00:33:50.39\00:33:53.11 have to recognize that. 00:33:53.14\00:33:54.69 You know, here in America 00:33:54.72\00:33:55.86 we get so accustomed to the violence 00:33:55.89\00:33:59.07 and it's not publicized all that much 00:33:59.10\00:34:02.72 and often times we think, 00:34:02.75\00:34:04.84 all the violence is like in the Middle East. 00:34:04.87\00:34:07.77 The truth of the matter is if you-- 00:34:07.80\00:34:09.57 let's take a country like Israel, 00:34:09.60\00:34:11.79 there will be around 20 violent deaths a year, 00:34:11.82\00:34:16.20 that's for 6 million people. 00:34:16.23\00:34:19.12 There are about 6 million people 00:34:19.15\00:34:20.91 in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex 00:34:20.94\00:34:24.73 and there are 20 violent deaths a weekend there. 00:34:24.76\00:34:30.20 There are at least 50 times as many violent deaths 00:34:30.23\00:34:36.00 in the Dallas-Fort Worth area as there are in a place 00:34:36.03\00:34:39.35 where we think of as being violent 00:34:39.38\00:34:41.93 with the same population. 00:34:41.96\00:34:44.19 We have become so accustomed to it 00:34:44.22\00:34:47.27 that it really does not even register with this anymore. 00:34:47.30\00:34:52.69 That's right. It's correct. 00:34:52.72\00:34:53.96 And of course the press is very-- 00:34:53.99\00:34:58.10 they like the sensational things so 00:34:58.13\00:35:00.22 if anything does happen there, they make a big deal out of it. 00:35:00.25\00:35:04.26 But it is amazing that how much it is blown out of proportion 00:35:04.29\00:35:09.17 but in our own country, our own place, 00:35:09.20\00:35:12.36 the violence in New York and Chicago 00:35:12.39\00:35:15.31 and Dallas and Los Angels is so horrific 00:35:15.34\00:35:21.28 and we have just gone accustom to it. 00:35:21.31\00:35:24.91 It's like the frog in the boiling water. 00:35:24.94\00:35:27.49 Absolutely. 00:35:27.52\00:35:28.55 The water gets hotter and hotter, 00:35:28.58\00:35:30.29 the frog doesn't recognize it 00:35:30.32\00:35:31.91 because he is sitting there until he is cooked. 00:35:31.94\00:35:35.12 Yeah. 00:35:35.15\00:35:36.58 And you know what, first year and I'm just of course 00:35:36.61\00:35:40.60 doing my devotions and I'm in Genesis. 00:35:40.63\00:35:43.10 I usually try to go through the Bible every year 00:35:43.13\00:35:45.66 and I just finished reading about Noah 00:35:45.69\00:35:48.92 and it says God looked down and mankind was violent. 00:35:48.95\00:35:53.01 Yeah. 00:35:53.04\00:35:54.34 You know, I thought Lord, You are looking down? 00:35:54.37\00:35:57.63 Right. 00:35:57.66\00:35:58.69 You know, what's gonna happen? 00:35:58.72\00:36:00.68 Where are we? Yes. 00:36:00.71\00:36:02.18 And it's the assurance that you find in the sanctuary 00:36:02.21\00:36:05.97 that let you know that Christ is there with you. 00:36:06.00\00:36:08.62 He will be with you all the time 00:36:08.65\00:36:10.81 and that you can just depend on Him. 00:36:10.84\00:36:14.00 You know, it had to be and same things today 00:36:14.03\00:36:17.00 if people would accept it, 00:36:17.03\00:36:18.59 it had to be a wonderful feeling 00:36:18.62\00:36:21.37 to bring the lamb to the court and to offer it for your sins. 00:36:21.40\00:36:27.36 The priest taking the lamb 00:36:27.39\00:36:29.73 and putting on the altar of sacrifice, 00:36:29.76\00:36:32.43 carrying the blood into the sanctuary 00:36:32.46\00:36:34.63 and placing it on the altar of incense 00:36:34.66\00:36:37.72 and know, walk away from the sanctuary 00:36:37.75\00:36:40.26 knowing that all your sins had been forgiven, 00:36:40.29\00:36:43.93 clean, you know totally. 00:36:43.96\00:36:45.44 Yeah, that's right. It had to be. 00:36:45.47\00:36:47.41 I mean great assurance. 00:36:47.44\00:36:49.21 You know, Kenneth, you are talking about the lamb. 00:36:49.24\00:36:52.73 Did they just go out in the flock 00:36:52.76\00:36:54.69 and just pick any lamb? 00:36:54.72\00:36:56.75 No. Tell us about the lamb? 00:36:56.78\00:36:58.45 The lamb was required to be 00:36:58.48\00:37:02.04 without spot and without blemish. 00:37:02.07\00:37:04.31 It had to be perfect, the best they can tell 00:37:04.34\00:37:07.24 to be offered 00:37:07.27\00:37:08.60 and even had to be examined by the priest 00:37:08.63\00:37:10.88 before it was offered. 00:37:11.88\00:37:15.56 For instance what has always moved me 00:37:15.59\00:37:18.93 and I don't know Jim, 00:37:18.96\00:37:21.01 whether this is kind of fable or it's actual 00:37:21.04\00:37:23.78 but I think it is foundation found in scripture. 00:37:23.81\00:37:27.05 When they offered the Passover lamb, 00:37:27.08\00:37:29.46 the Passover lamb had to be perfect. 00:37:29.49\00:37:33.16 It had to be without spot and without blemish. 00:37:33.19\00:37:36.71 But they were required to go and find a lamb 00:37:36.74\00:37:39.98 on the tenth day of the month 00:37:40.01\00:37:43.66 and to bring it home and keep it there at the house 00:37:43.69\00:37:48.13 until the 14th day before it was offered 00:37:48.16\00:37:52.21 given the children a chance to play with it 00:37:52.24\00:37:55.65 so that lamb didn't-- couldn't be offered 00:37:55.68\00:37:58.57 without there being some attachment 00:37:58.60\00:38:01.00 and feeling towards it, you know. 00:38:01.03\00:38:03.93 It just was there. 00:38:03.96\00:38:05.56 So that lamb became part of the family? 00:38:05.59\00:38:07.73 Yes. 00:38:07.76\00:38:08.92 And was a little difference than just picking any lamb. 00:38:08.95\00:38:14.50 You can imagine a child pleading with his parents 00:38:14.53\00:38:17.00 not to take its life. 00:38:17.03\00:38:18.10 Yeah. 00:38:18.13\00:38:19.16 You know that is a facet that I was not aware of. 00:38:19.19\00:38:23.31 you know, I think you go to a temple 00:38:23.34\00:38:24.58 you go to one or two lamb sellers outside, 00:38:24.61\00:38:26.72 they'll try to sell the one out to you, 00:38:26.75\00:38:27.78 you pick up the lamb and you're going to do 00:38:27.81\00:38:28.92 what you got to do, 00:38:28.95\00:38:30.05 but there is no emotional investment to that, 00:38:30.08\00:38:32.39 financial cost certainly but I don't know 00:38:32.42\00:38:34.65 but when you've got a pet, a friend, 00:38:34.68\00:38:38.21 now it's kind of getting inside 00:38:38.24\00:38:40.19 and that's what the Lord had to surrender 00:38:40.22\00:38:41.92 when Christ went on the cross. 00:38:41.95\00:38:43.32 And it's interesting there in Revelation 00:38:43.35\00:38:45.86 where it talks of the lamb, Revelation 4 says 00:38:45.89\00:38:50.58 the actual scripture for the word lamb there 00:38:50.61\00:38:54.17 is little pet lamb. 00:38:54.20\00:38:57.85 Wow. It's powerful. 00:38:57.88\00:39:00.28 You know, it just, you learn so much in the sanctuary, 00:39:00.31\00:39:04.87 it brings things together and helps you understand 00:39:04.90\00:39:07.77 where we are, understand the timeline. 00:39:07.80\00:39:13.08 You know, you begin to see and understand the time 00:39:13.11\00:39:16.81 and where we are, what's happening up in heaven, 00:39:16.84\00:39:19.60 the investigative judgment is taking place there. 00:39:19.63\00:39:22.97 You know, I've heard people say well, 00:39:23.00\00:39:24.53 you can't prove the investigative judgment 00:39:24.56\00:39:26.81 by the 8th and 9th chapter of Daniel. 00:39:26.84\00:39:30.79 And I will say, right. 00:39:30.82\00:39:34.34 But you can prove the investigative judgment 00:39:34.37\00:39:36.68 by the 7th chapter of Daniel. 00:39:36.71\00:39:38.77 No question, you know, and as you see that 00:39:38.80\00:39:42.44 and understand it in the light of the sanctuary, 00:39:42.47\00:39:45.46 man, it makes it all come to life. 00:39:45.49\00:39:48.25 You can see it and see what's happening 00:39:48.28\00:39:50.25 and what's taking place there. 00:39:50.28\00:39:52.02 You know, just to talk about violence in the world. 00:39:52.05\00:39:55.49 Probably while you were talking, 00:39:55.52\00:39:57.08 viewers may have been able to hear a fighter jet overhead 00:39:57.11\00:40:01.33 and we are hear near an airbase in Surprise, Arizona 00:40:01.36\00:40:07.14 and you hear these fighter jets taking off every little bit. 00:40:07.17\00:40:11.90 It helps you realize 00:40:11.93\00:40:13.87 these planes were not created to go out and have fun in. 00:40:13.90\00:40:20.08 That's right. 00:40:20.11\00:40:21.15 These are killing machines 00:40:21.18\00:40:23.29 that have been designed for that 00:40:23.32\00:40:26.41 and when you hear them take off and hear the power, 00:40:26.44\00:40:29.26 you can stand outside here and you cannot see them 00:40:29.29\00:40:34.39 because you are looking at the sound 00:40:34.42\00:40:36.34 and they are way ahead of the sound. 00:40:36.37\00:40:38.35 You got to-- if you're just fortunate 00:40:38.38\00:40:41.02 to look at way ahead of the sound, 00:40:41.05\00:40:43.00 you may be able to see one of them. 00:40:43.03\00:40:45.06 It's amazing. Back to our subject now. 00:40:45.09\00:40:48.35 Start us out in the outer court 00:40:48.38\00:40:52.92 and bring us to that sanctuary in just a quick moment. 00:40:52.95\00:40:57.36 What happens out in the outer court? 00:40:57.39\00:40:59.86 The outer court, the person brings a lamb, 00:40:59.89\00:41:03.21 they are met in the court by the priest 00:41:03.24\00:41:06.56 and they place their hands on the head of that lamb 00:41:06.59\00:41:09.75 and they confess their sins. 00:41:09.78\00:41:11.45 Okay. 00:41:11.48\00:41:12.51 Then the life of the lamb is taken. 00:41:12.54\00:41:14.67 They split its throat. 00:41:14.70\00:41:16.28 The priest catches the blood, the body of the lamb 00:41:16.31\00:41:20.26 as I mentioned with the fat taken out 00:41:20.29\00:41:22.46 is placed on the altar of sacrifice 00:41:22.49\00:41:24.48 with the fat and burned 00:41:24.51\00:41:26.54 and the priest carries the blood into the tabernacle. 00:41:26.57\00:41:30.44 Okay. 00:41:30.47\00:41:31.50 Then he takes this blood to the altar of incense. 00:41:31.53\00:41:35.97 All right, now that is moved now 00:41:36.00\00:41:37.65 from the outer court into the holy place? 00:41:37.68\00:41:40.42 Holy place of the tabernacle. 00:41:40.45\00:41:41.94 All right. And so what does he do there? 00:41:41.97\00:41:43.87 In the tabernacle, he takes the blood 00:41:43.90\00:41:46.43 and touches it to the horns of the altar. 00:41:46.46\00:41:50.03 Now there's always been some question 00:41:50.06\00:41:52.28 about the horns of the altar. 00:41:52.31\00:41:54.17 I maintain that that horns of the altar 00:41:54.20\00:41:58.15 was a place of protection. 00:41:58.18\00:42:00.66 Because you remember when Solomon said, 00:42:00.69\00:42:03.94 go get rid of Joab. 00:42:03.97\00:42:05.73 Remember it says he went to the sanctuary 00:42:05.76\00:42:07.51 and got both horns, horns of the altar. 00:42:07.54\00:42:09.81 Right. And so-- 00:42:09.84\00:42:11.44 but they touch the blood 00:42:11.47\00:42:14.31 to the horns of the altar confessing the person's sin. 00:42:14.34\00:42:17.05 Now normally the person would not be allowed 00:42:17.08\00:42:19.47 to go in there, right? 00:42:19.50\00:42:20.64 That's right, just the priest. 00:42:20.67\00:42:21.73 So it was just the-- if you are going there, 00:42:21.76\00:42:24.57 going there you better grab those horns? 00:42:24.60\00:42:26.36 Yes. Okay. 00:42:26.39\00:42:27.42 Right. All right. 00:42:27.45\00:42:28.48 Now what else was in that holy place? 00:42:28.51\00:42:30.65 In holy place was the altar-- 00:42:30.68\00:42:32.54 excuse me was the seven golden candlesticks. 00:42:32.57\00:42:34.87 All right. Now what did that represented? 00:42:34.90\00:42:36.45 And seven golden candlesticks they are represented 00:42:36.48\00:42:39.85 for light of God as He gave in us what Christ said, 00:42:39.88\00:42:44.49 I'm the light of the world. Right. 00:42:44.52\00:42:46.35 It represented Christ and it was seven-- 00:42:46.38\00:42:51.87 seven branches menorah, 00:42:51.90\00:42:54.97 the Jewish people they use even today. 00:42:55.00\00:42:57.79 And that represented the Holy Spirit 00:42:57.82\00:43:01.87 because the oil was put in there 00:43:01.90\00:43:04.75 and burned in it constantly. 00:43:04.78\00:43:07.15 It was always never to go out. 00:43:07.18\00:43:09.11 Now even though it represented the Holy Spirit, 00:43:09.14\00:43:11.02 it also represented Jesus says the light of the world. 00:43:11.05\00:43:13.35 Oh, yes. Yeah. 00:43:13.38\00:43:14.41 Everything as we look at the sanctuary service, 00:43:14.44\00:43:19.28 everything almost has a dual application. 00:43:19.31\00:43:21.78 It may look at the word, the Word of God 00:43:21.81\00:43:25.28 but Jesus says I'm the bread of life. 00:43:25.31\00:43:27.30 Yes. Right? 00:43:27.33\00:43:28.36 And so you have the table of showbread. 00:43:28.39\00:43:30.40 So Jesus is represented by 00:43:30.43\00:43:32.75 every, everything in the sanctuary. 00:43:32.78\00:43:35.85 Every detail. Every detail. 00:43:35.88\00:43:38.07 Even though it may also represent the Bible, 00:43:38.10\00:43:40.20 the word, the Holy Spirit etcetera 00:43:40.23\00:43:42.80 but there is a dual application that points you to Jesus. 00:43:42.83\00:43:46.70 And on the table of showbread was the bread 00:43:46.73\00:43:53.21 and the priest could eat of that bread, 00:43:53.24\00:43:55.68 you know, and this is exactly what Christ is talking about 00:43:55.71\00:43:59.10 when He says, "Unless you eat my flesh, 00:43:59.13\00:44:01.97 drink My blood, 00:44:02.00\00:44:03.04 you cannot make it in the kingdom of heaven." 00:44:03.07\00:44:04.84 Right. Right. 00:44:04.87\00:44:06.15 Just the symbolism is there so much. 00:44:06.18\00:44:09.25 Okay, now this will be a daily situation 00:44:09.28\00:44:11.69 except was it done on Sabbath as well? 00:44:11.72\00:44:14.64 Yes. There was. Yes. 00:44:14.67\00:44:16.49 So it's a daily offering of the sacrifice 00:44:16.52\00:44:20.89 and presenting the blood there on the altar. 00:44:20.92\00:44:23.84 In fact, the bread on the table of showbread 00:44:23.87\00:44:26.13 was only changed on Sabbath. 00:44:26.16\00:44:27.79 Is that right? Yeah. 00:44:27.82\00:44:28.88 All right, now we will go in the most holy place. 00:44:28.91\00:44:31.85 How often do you go in the most holy place? 00:44:31.88\00:44:34.42 The high priest only could go in once a year. 00:44:34.45\00:44:38.38 Once a year. 00:44:38.41\00:44:39.79 Yeah. Once a year. 00:44:39.82\00:44:40.98 All right, now what does he do 00:44:41.01\00:44:42.28 when he goes into the most holy place? 00:44:42.31\00:44:44.14 Well, he offers a lamb, they had a goat, 00:44:44.17\00:44:47.85 they cast lots and one became the Lord's goat, 00:44:47.88\00:44:51.87 one became the scapegoat and they sacrificed it 00:44:51.90\00:44:57.60 and then he takes the blood of that 00:44:57.63\00:44:59.47 and makes his way into the most holy place 00:44:59.50\00:45:02.74 and there goes before the ark 00:45:02.78\00:45:05.93 and there on the ark you have the cherubims, 00:45:05.96\00:45:09.11 the two cherubims 00:45:09.14\00:45:10.28 and who are looking down at the altar of-- 00:45:10.31\00:45:15.78 excuse me the altar there and then in between that 00:45:15.81\00:45:20.18 is where you have the mercy seat. 00:45:20.21\00:45:22.66 And there at the mercy seat 00:45:22.69\00:45:24.09 is where the Shekinah glory of God dwells. 00:45:24.12\00:45:26.69 Wow. 00:45:26.72\00:45:27.75 And he met there 00:45:27.78\00:45:29.14 and that's where he offered 00:45:29.17\00:45:31.31 the blood from the Lord's goat and-- 00:45:31.34\00:45:36.75 Once a year. 00:45:36.78\00:45:37.81 Once a year and just think about me-- 00:45:37.84\00:45:41.50 my thinking about it, Jim, makes me tremble 00:45:41.53\00:45:45.22 to think of what priest going in there, 00:45:45.25\00:45:47.33 you could have-- 00:45:47.36\00:45:48.39 you know, where the Shekinah glory was and-- 00:45:48.42\00:45:51.69 The very presence of God. 00:45:51.72\00:45:53.55 He had to have every sin confessed 00:45:53.58\00:45:56.03 before he went there. 00:45:56.06\00:45:57.12 In fact, he offered bullocks for himself 00:45:57.15\00:45:59.11 and his family before he went in. 00:45:59.14\00:46:00.81 Before he went in. 00:46:00.84\00:46:01.87 So that every sin was confessed. 00:46:01.90\00:46:03.73 And there was a cord tied to his leg 00:46:03.76\00:46:06.73 so that if he died they could pull him out. 00:46:06.76\00:46:10.88 Yeah. Yeah. 00:46:10.91\00:46:12.53 And one of the things that we see religion see 00:46:12.56\00:46:18.38 that earmarks our days that is fear. 00:46:18.41\00:46:21.81 I mean people are afraid of-- 00:46:21.84\00:46:22.87 they are afraid to open their doors, 00:46:22.90\00:46:23.93 they are afraid to be alone, they are afraid to in crows, 00:46:23.96\00:46:25.83 they are afraid of their jobs, 00:46:25.86\00:46:26.97 they are afraid of so many things 00:46:27.00\00:46:29.19 accompanied by and just an overwhelming disrespect, 00:46:29.22\00:46:33.52 lack of respect for human life. 00:46:33.55\00:46:36.10 Some women are strapped abound to have brought 00:46:36.13\00:46:38.24 and walk into a public place and you know there is this, 00:46:38.27\00:46:41.46 this lack of respect even as we've been sitting here 00:46:41.49\00:46:44.28 same things on the news. 00:46:44.31\00:46:46.58 Does the sanctuary give any comfort to a person 00:46:46.61\00:46:49.25 who is just-- 00:46:49.28\00:46:51.14 they are afraid all of the time, 00:46:51.17\00:46:52.84 they don't know where they are, 00:46:52.87\00:46:53.92 they don't know what they are doing 00:46:53.95\00:46:55.19 and they are part of this fear cycle 00:46:55.22\00:46:57.38 that is being influenced. 00:46:57.41\00:46:58.44 Does it give any comfort, 00:46:58.47\00:46:59.50 does it have anything to say to a person in that, 00:46:59.53\00:47:01.60 in that frame of mind? 00:47:01.63\00:47:03.08 C.A., there were seven annual feast 00:47:03.11\00:47:05.81 that they came to at the sanctuary 00:47:05.84\00:47:08.69 and those seven annual feast 00:47:08.72\00:47:11.60 one of the feast of trumpets was strictly 00:47:11.63\00:47:17.55 to rejoice and know that Christ is with you 00:47:17.58\00:47:20.61 and comforts you and gives you peace 00:47:20.64\00:47:22.24 that's what, what it was all about. 00:47:22.27\00:47:24.52 And many of the others also were feast 00:47:24.55\00:47:28.58 in which you were to receive peace from. 00:47:28.61\00:47:31.64 And so they-- you know, Christ had promised, 00:47:31.67\00:47:36.48 He said, "My peace I give you. My peace I leave with you." 00:47:36.51\00:47:40.90 And that is taught in the sanctuary there. 00:47:40.93\00:47:43.94 They can find peace there 00:47:43.97\00:47:45.41 that they will find in no other place. 00:47:45.44\00:47:46.99 Praise God. Praise God. 00:47:47.02\00:47:48.81 Yeah. 00:47:48.84\00:47:49.87 It is a fabulous work and again 00:47:49.90\00:47:52.50 I see it's a little thinner than some of your books. 00:47:52.53\00:47:55.12 You didn't turn it into war and peace. 00:47:55.15\00:47:57.01 You kind of got in there and got through it, 00:47:57.04\00:47:59.79 so that it can be read in maybe one or two sittings. 00:47:59.82\00:48:02.28 Oh, yeah. Yeah. 00:48:02.31\00:48:03.88 They can definitely. Yeah. 00:48:03.91\00:48:05.19 And that's what I wanted. 00:48:05.22\00:48:07.10 I didn't want them have to be bogged down 00:48:07.13\00:48:09.88 and, you know, just to be able to read it. 00:48:09.91\00:48:12.32 Come out and say okay, I know what the sanctuary is about. 00:48:12.35\00:48:15.96 So that's why they are done. And it's-- 00:48:15.99\00:48:21.13 Did it cover the judgment in this? 00:48:21.16\00:48:23.78 Yes. You did cover? 00:48:23.81\00:48:25.10 There's a whole chapter on it.
