We go back a long way. 00:02:06.57\00:02:07.98 You don't have to do the personal dig. 00:02:08.01\00:02:09.83 Right. 00:02:09.86\00:02:10.92 Now, we're just talking about ministries. 00:02:10.95\00:02:12.30 Yeah, right, we're amongst friends, right? 00:02:12.33\00:02:14.33 Yeah, there's I go. 00:02:14.36\00:02:15.43 We kind of talked to each other that way. 00:02:15.46\00:02:17.47 We've got used to each other. 00:02:17.50\00:02:18.86 I don't know if we enjoy but I guess we do. 00:02:18.89\00:02:20.76 We've done it for so long. 00:02:20.79\00:02:22.60 Now I love Dwight and love his ministry, 00:02:22.63\00:02:24.58 love his passion for the gospel because Dwight has passion. 00:02:24.61\00:02:29.18 He's like that energizer bunny. 00:02:29.21\00:02:31.83 He gets kick and he keeps coming back up 00:02:31.86\00:02:34.08 and so honestly I appreciate that 00:02:34.11\00:02:36.41 and that's something that we've had to have in common. 00:02:36.44\00:02:38.84 That's not easy being in any ministry 00:02:38.87\00:02:41.35 or in any thing for 30 years, you know. 00:02:41.38\00:02:44.41 But somehow the Lord has blessed 00:02:44.44\00:02:46.18 and so it's going to be a great program today. 00:02:46.21\00:02:49.27 There's lots of things happening 00:02:49.30\00:02:51.02 and remember Jesus said, 00:02:51.05\00:02:52.39 go ye into all the world and when he goes 00:02:52.42\00:02:54.14 into all the world, guess what happens. 00:02:54.17\00:02:56.22 When this gospel of the kingdom 00:02:56.25\00:02:57.39 goes into all the world, it's the beginning not the end, 00:02:57.42\00:03:00.18 it's the end of this earth and this life 00:03:00.21\00:03:02.06 but a beginning of eternity. 00:03:02.09\00:03:03.92 So I'm always happy to join hands with folk, 00:03:03.95\00:03:07.68 Yvonne, that like Dwight and Remnant 00:03:07.71\00:03:10.34 because we've done a lot of projects 00:03:10.37\00:03:12.07 together over the years. 00:03:12.10\00:03:13.73 And the Ten Commandments books 00:03:13.76\00:03:15.32 were probably the biggest thing. 00:03:15.35\00:03:16.84 How many of those eventually 00:03:16.87\00:03:17.90 went out, over 10 million? 00:03:17.93\00:03:18.98 Yeah, it's hard to say 'cause people actually pirated 00:03:19.01\00:03:22.55 those books in another parts of the world 00:03:22.58\00:03:23.82 and just start printing them. 00:03:23.85\00:03:24.93 So we don't really know 00:03:24.96\00:03:26.00 but we did I think well over 7 million 00:03:26.03\00:03:28.04 and maybe going on to 8 million, 00:03:28.07\00:03:30.34 you know, as time goes on but who knows I mean a lot. 00:03:30.37\00:03:32.89 Okay. All right. 00:03:32.92\00:03:33.99 Lot of 'em gone out there 00:03:34.02\00:03:35.66 and we've got some great responses for that too. 00:03:35.69\00:03:37.31 Absolutely. 00:03:37.34\00:03:38.41 We'll talk a little more about some of the other projects 00:03:38.44\00:03:40.59 in a few moments but we have a special friend 00:03:40.62\00:03:42.96 who is going to be doing music for us today. 00:03:42.99\00:03:44.86 Oh, we do and he is a dear friend of this ministry. 00:03:44.89\00:03:47.47 Absolutely and us. 00:03:47.50\00:03:49.14 And us, absolutely, and he is such a blessing. 00:03:49.17\00:03:51.91 T Marshall Kelly 00:03:51.94\00:03:53.02 and he is going to sing ''He's the One.'' 00:03:53.05\00:03:55.95 Is there anyone can help us 00:04:13.63\00:04:16.97 One who understands our hearts 00:04:17.74\00:04:22.21 When the thorns of life 00:04:22.25\00:04:25.29 have pierced them 00:04:25.32\00:04:27.88 till they bleed 00:04:27.91\00:04:30.72 One who sympathizes with us 00:04:33.15\00:04:37.74 When tenderness imparts 00:04:38.93\00:04:44.44 Just the very, very blessing 00:04:44.47\00:04:49.74 that we need 00:04:51.05\00:04:54.10 Is there anyone can help us 00:04:58.19\00:05:01.58 Who can give a sinner peace 00:05:03.40\00:05:07.16 When his heart is burdened down with pain and woe 00:05:07.84\00:05:15.37 Who will speak the word of pardon 00:05:19.72\00:05:23.14 that affords a sweet release 00:05:24.19\00:05:28.95 And whose blood can wash 00:05:29.38\00:05:32.46 and make us pure like snow 00:05:32.49\00:05:38.50 Yes, there is One, only One 00:05:41.79\00:05:49.64 His blessed name is Jesus 00:05:53.44\00:05:58.11 He is that One 00:05:58.54\00:06:01.99 Yes, afflictions will press our soul 00:06:04.03\00:06:09.48 And the waves of trouble will roll 00:06:10.21\00:06:14.92 But we have a friend 00:06:15.86\00:06:18.99 who will help us 00:06:19.02\00:06:21.62 He is the One 00:06:23.01\00:06:26.13 Is there anyone can help us 00:06:30.60\00:06:33.88 When the end is drawing near 00:06:35.86\00:06:39.94 Who will go thro' death's dark waters by our side 00:06:41.30\00:06:48.91 Who will light the way before us 00:06:52.09\00:06:56.11 And dispel all doubt and fear 00:06:57.42\00:07:01.85 And He will resurrect us when He comes again 00:07:02.92\00:07:09.76 Oh, yes, there is one 00:07:13.42\00:07:18.19 Only one 00:07:19.37\00:07:24.93 His blessed name is Jesus 00:07:24.96\00:07:30.53 He is that One 00:07:30.77\00:07:35.31 Afflictions will press our soul 00:07:37.65\00:07:42.07 And the waves of trouble will roll 00:07:42.82\00:07:48.08 But we have a friend 00:07:49.19\00:07:52.78 who will help us 00:07:52.81\00:07:57.01 Jesus is that One 00:07:57.04\00:08:02.72 Amen. 00:09:09.43\00:09:10.94 Where're you from originally 00:09:10.97\00:09:12.59 and where you raised in a Christian home? 00:09:12.62\00:09:14.61 I was, I currently live in Cleveland, Tennessee, 00:09:14.64\00:09:17.20 just outside of Chattanooga. 00:09:17.23\00:09:18.50 Okay. 00:09:18.53\00:09:19.57 And I was very blessed to be raised in a Christian home. 00:09:19.60\00:09:21.56 My mother and grandmother were very devotes 00:09:21.59\00:09:23.85 Seventh-day Adventists. 00:09:23.88\00:09:25.40 In fact my interest in the literature ministry 00:09:25.43\00:09:28.54 which I'm involved in today came from my grandmother. 00:09:28.57\00:09:31.67 Just back in the early 1900 00:09:31.70\00:09:33.18 she was a literature of evangelist. 00:09:33.21\00:09:34.64 When I was young, she used to tell me stories 00:09:34.67\00:09:37.37 about her canvassing and she used to say 00:09:37.40\00:09:39.09 I'd rather canvass then eat. 00:09:39.12\00:09:41.03 She loved to eat, so I knew that-- 00:09:41.06\00:09:43.48 I knew that was an important thing 00:09:43.51\00:09:44.89 but it made a big impact on me. 00:09:44.92\00:09:46.71 But I've been blessed for the last 33 years 00:09:46.74\00:09:49.06 be involved in literature evangelism 00:09:49.09\00:09:50.85 or connected with the literature evangelists. 00:09:50.88\00:09:53.37 So when you were going through higher school and all that, 00:09:53.40\00:09:55.82 did you always know you wanted to be a Christian 00:09:55.85\00:09:59.11 did you ever say, you know, 00:09:59.14\00:10:00.42 I don't think, the way you like Dwight 00:10:00.45\00:10:02.44 and just go out there somewhere 00:10:02.47\00:10:03.58 for a while and then come back. 00:10:03.61\00:10:04.98 I took a little detour along the way. 00:10:05.01\00:10:07.64 I didn't take a motorcycle riding, 00:10:07.67\00:10:09.75 I don't think like that. 00:10:09.78\00:10:12.07 But I did take a little detour 00:10:12.10\00:10:13.61 and really was about my junior year in high school 00:10:13.64\00:10:15.95 when the Lord really took possession of my life 00:10:15.99\00:10:18.90 and I know that I wanted to serve Him at that time. 00:10:18.93\00:10:21.75 Okay, 00:10:21.78\00:10:22.84 so you decide I'm gonna do something for the Lord. 00:10:22.87\00:10:25.07 Did you go to college? 00:10:25.10\00:10:26.18 I did. 00:10:26.21\00:10:27.26 At first I felt like I was called to the ministry 00:10:27.29\00:10:29.17 and I went to Southern Adventist University 00:10:29.20\00:10:31.33 graduated from their program there in theology. 00:10:31.36\00:10:34.58 But during my college years, 00:10:34.61\00:10:36.69 I had a friend that invited me to come 00:10:36.72\00:10:38.59 and work as a student literature evangelist. 00:10:38.62\00:10:40.83 Okay. 00:10:40.86\00:10:41.90 And from the very first call I knew that that's what 00:10:41.93\00:10:45.03 the Lord wanted me to do. 00:10:45.06\00:10:47.38 It's 100% outreach to people who have never heard about 00:10:47.41\00:10:51.22 our special message in the kingdom of God. 00:10:51.25\00:10:53.65 And it was such an opportunity, 00:10:53.68\00:10:55.46 I loved it then and I love it now, 00:10:55.49\00:10:57.15 Well, the folks who do that tend to have a gift to gab, 00:10:57.18\00:10:59.97 I mean you almost need to, right? 00:11:00.00\00:11:02.03 'Cause you gonna knock on somebody's door 00:11:02.06\00:11:03.51 you don't even know. 00:11:03.54\00:11:04.61 Is that the way you started? You just go-- 00:11:04.64\00:11:06.28 No. Absolutely not. 00:11:06.31\00:11:08.15 In fact I could tell a story about when I did start. 00:11:08.18\00:11:10.53 Well, let me hear it. 00:11:10.56\00:11:11.78 When I-- 00:11:11.81\00:11:12.84 Let's hear it. 00:11:12.87\00:11:13.90 Well, I was actually very bashful at the time. 00:11:13.93\00:11:15.85 Really? 00:11:15.88\00:11:16.98 They had a machine that was a Dukane machine. 00:11:17.01\00:11:18.71 You may remember those, you stick a cassette in there 00:11:18.74\00:11:21.08 and a little tone and it switch. 00:11:21.11\00:11:22.63 I do. They gave it. 00:11:22.66\00:11:23.94 They gave the presentation all we have to do is go to the home 00:11:23.97\00:11:26.68 and get in and they gave the presentation 00:11:26.71\00:11:29.11 and then we had to have the-- 00:11:29.14\00:11:30.43 the presence of mind to try and ask for the people 00:11:30.46\00:11:33.05 to get the books. 00:11:33.08\00:11:34.16 Well, I knocked on the-- 00:11:34.20\00:11:35.99 all went down the street just knocking on the doors 00:11:36.02\00:11:38.53 and the first home I went to, 00:11:38.56\00:11:40.35 I practiced my presentation over and over. 00:11:40.38\00:11:43.09 I mean, I give it perfect in front of the mirror 00:11:43.12\00:11:45.52 but nobody ever interrupted me in front of the mirror. 00:11:45.55\00:11:49.14 And I knocked on this lady's door, 00:11:49.17\00:11:50.41 told her who I was 00:11:50.44\00:11:51.77 and she interrupted me 00:11:51.80\00:11:54.94 and my mind went totally blank, 00:11:54.97\00:11:57.14 totally blank, I couldn't say a word. 00:11:57.17\00:11:59.48 I looked at her and she looked at me 00:11:59.51\00:12:02.51 and finally she closed the door. 00:12:02.54\00:12:04.73 And I walked down that sidewalk so defeated, 00:12:04.76\00:12:07.42 I didn't think I ever want to knock on another door 00:12:07.45\00:12:09.81 again but that's the way the devil works, 00:12:09.84\00:12:11.76 you know, he has a discouragement 00:12:11.79\00:12:12.98 before the blessing comes. 00:12:13.01\00:12:14.56 And when I got down to the end of the street, 00:12:14.59\00:12:16.25 a lady invited me and I had my little Dukane machine. 00:12:16.28\00:12:19.39 I went inside and believe this is a true story. 00:12:19.42\00:12:21.44 I got inside and I got so nervous 00:12:21.47\00:12:23.24 I couldn't plug that machine into the wall. 00:12:23.27\00:12:25.41 I had to ask the lady to come over and plug it in. 00:12:25.44\00:12:28.16 But when it was done 00:12:28.19\00:12:29.37 she said, you know, I want to get those books 00:12:29.40\00:12:31.18 and she bought the series from me. 00:12:31.21\00:12:33.14 And when I left the home she said God sent you here today 00:12:33.17\00:12:37.16 and that was the first time in my life that I ever knew 00:12:37.19\00:12:39.63 that God had used me 00:12:39.66\00:12:40.90 and there was something inside of me 00:12:40.93\00:12:42.17 that said I want to do that again. 00:12:42.20\00:12:43.64 I want to do that again. 00:12:43.67\00:12:45.09 And it is just a continuing 00:12:45.12\00:12:46.69 and I still want to do it again. 00:12:46.72\00:12:48.38 He hasn't left me since then. 00:12:48.41\00:12:50.06 The blessing that comes from service is a blessing 00:12:50.09\00:12:52.69 you can get no other way in your life. 00:12:52.72\00:12:55.34 And one of the things that Danny is written about 00:12:55.37\00:12:58.07 is the blessings on the go. 00:12:58.10\00:13:00.02 So if you just step out there and do it, 00:13:00.05\00:13:03.28 which is what you did, 00:13:03.31\00:13:04.77 you kind of recoiled from the first house 00:13:04.80\00:13:08.50 but when you went to the second one, 00:13:08.53\00:13:10.25 you know, the Lord gave you the courage 00:13:10.28\00:13:11.93 and you did that and you-- 00:13:11.96\00:13:13.36 and that she responded really well to it. 00:13:13.39\00:13:15.54 So I think that kind of reinforced your desire 00:13:15.57\00:13:18.48 to kind of do it again. 00:13:18.51\00:13:20.40 Oh, absolutely. 'Cause it was encouraging. 00:13:20.43\00:13:21.74 Yeah, absolutely. 00:13:21.77\00:13:23.01 You know, what a better time, 00:13:23.04\00:13:24.43 no better time than to bring up, 00:13:24.46\00:13:26.21 we did our day of prayer sometime ago 00:13:26.24\00:13:28.32 and always beginning of a new year. 00:13:28.35\00:13:30.96 And I was talking to Dee Hilderbrand. 00:13:30.99\00:13:32.70 Dwight, you know Dee well, right? 00:13:32.73\00:13:34.95 And so Dee is somebody that's always going. 00:13:34.98\00:13:37.08 She is in hurry, she does everything. 00:13:37.11\00:13:39.98 She wears all kinds of hats. 00:13:40.01\00:13:41.14 Anything we need in ministry, you call her day and night, 00:13:41.17\00:13:43.79 she's willing to do it. 00:13:43.82\00:13:45.27 But it reminds me what you were saying, 00:13:45.30\00:13:47.04 you go there and you are not really sure 00:13:47.07\00:13:48.67 and you're little bashful so at our day of prayer 00:13:48.70\00:13:51.26 I'm interviewing Dee in front of all the workers 00:13:51.29\00:13:54.02 and we're talking and she and-- 00:13:54.05\00:13:55.95 I had some point kind of got on to her about her whatever, 00:13:55.98\00:13:58.30 well, Dee, you should do this or that and she said, 00:13:58.33\00:14:00.51 remember what I said to you. 00:14:00.54\00:14:02.00 Even though I don't know what I'm doing, 00:14:02.03\00:14:04.26 it doesn't slow me down. 00:14:04.29\00:14:05.41 So I said now that is deep. 00:14:07.71\00:14:09.83 So...well, I want to get t-shirts 00:14:09.86\00:14:11.99 and say even though I don't know what I'm doing, 00:14:12.02\00:14:13.70 it doesn't slow me down. 00:14:13.73\00:14:15.21 Just think about it, if you can come to the... 00:14:15.24\00:14:18.51 to the face to face with Jesus on judgment day 00:14:18.54\00:14:22.31 and you look up and say, 00:14:22.34\00:14:23.60 Lord, even though I don't know what I'm doing, 00:14:23.63\00:14:25.26 it didn't slow me down. 00:14:25.29\00:14:26.90 He's probably gonna say come on in. 00:14:26.93\00:14:28.42 That's right. Come on in. 00:14:28.45\00:14:29.94 So everything that we do in life, 00:14:29.97\00:14:32.14 it's not like you have to know or have it down path. 00:14:32.17\00:14:34.95 You tried, you went front of the mirror 00:14:34.98\00:14:37.29 but when you got here in front of the lady 00:14:37.32\00:14:40.07 suddenly you kind of went blank but it didn't slow you down. 00:14:40.10\00:14:44.34 So now you go down to the next house 00:14:44.37\00:14:46.49 and then a lady says, Tim, 00:14:46.52\00:14:48.47 you know, the Lord sent you here 00:14:48.50\00:14:51.18 and then it's a whole new revelation. 00:14:51.21\00:14:52.69 Absolutely. That's right. 00:14:52.72\00:14:54.12 And what a great feeling to know that God is using you. 00:14:54.15\00:14:57.23 Oh, yes. 00:14:57.26\00:14:58.47 I think there's no better feeling than to know that 00:14:58.50\00:15:00.91 God is using you to accomplish His purposes. 00:15:00.94\00:15:03.46 Absolutely. 00:15:03.49\00:15:04.52 To know that you're God's person in God's place 00:15:04.55\00:15:07.08 at God's time, there's nothing that can match that. 00:15:07.11\00:15:10.16 Yes. Nothing that can match it. 00:15:10.19\00:15:11.96 So you decided when you were in college that this is-- 00:15:11.99\00:15:15.55 this was the path that God had you on 00:15:15.58\00:15:17.64 as opposed to pastoring. 00:15:17.67\00:15:19.25 Yes, that is correct. That is correct. 00:15:19.28\00:15:21.39 When I looked to what the Lord 00:15:21.42\00:15:23.42 cared to have me do 00:15:23.45\00:15:24.48 and I looked at the gospel commission, 00:15:24.51\00:15:26.58 so many of our ministries are based on come ye, come ye. 00:15:26.61\00:15:29.81 We have the meetings and we want people to come 00:15:29.84\00:15:32.37 but the real gospel commission is go ye. 00:15:32.40\00:15:34.55 Come on. You got to go to the world. 00:15:34.58\00:15:36.70 Who is gonna reach the people? 00:15:36.73\00:15:38.23 Well, most people out there don't even know we exist 00:15:38.26\00:15:41.28 unless somebody takes the gospel to them. 00:15:41.31\00:15:43.12 They're not gonna come wandering in our church doors. 00:15:43.15\00:15:45.43 Somebody's got to go to them and introduce 'em. 00:15:45.46\00:15:47.68 They even give 'em a chance to know about the gospel 00:15:47.71\00:15:50.74 and I thought that's what I want to do 00:15:50.77\00:15:52.75 you know with my life is to reach people 00:15:52.78\00:15:54.86 that have never had a chance even to hear once. 00:15:54.89\00:15:57.17 That's incredible. 00:15:57.20\00:15:58.23 Not too many I don't think I've talked about it much on the air 00:15:58.26\00:16:00.98 but right after I got out of high school, 00:16:01.01\00:16:03.18 I did little, well, I went to Auburn school for a year, 00:16:03.21\00:16:07.71 which I never really used license pract or nursing 00:16:07.74\00:16:10.07 but I didn't know if I wanted to go far there not. 00:16:10.10\00:16:11.99 But I ended up somebody come by and said 00:16:12.02\00:16:14.29 you should be a literature evangelist, 00:16:14.32\00:16:15.93 I think 'cause I talk a lot. 00:16:15.96\00:16:17.43 Then you should be a literature evangelist, 00:16:17.46\00:16:19.53 so I did it for a year in the Illinois Conference. 00:16:19.56\00:16:22.44 And I learned what it's like to get door shut in your face 00:16:22.47\00:16:25.00 or doors not opened, see people home and you're knocking. 00:16:25.03\00:16:27.99 They look at you and just ignore you 00:16:28.02\00:16:29.93 but also found what it was like 00:16:29.96\00:16:31.47 to be able to get into somebody's home 00:16:31.50\00:16:33.44 to pray with people 00:16:33.47\00:16:34.97 and to see that kids come around, 00:16:35.00\00:16:36.90 see excitement 00:16:36.93\00:16:38.15 and be able to leave those books in their hands. 00:16:38.18\00:16:40.75 And then some days you have a great day, 00:16:40.78\00:16:42.43 I stopped that there's a little church over in Benton, Illinois 00:16:42.46\00:16:45.93 and I knew the pastor somewhat and not real well 00:16:45.96\00:16:49.77 but I'd sang over in his church with my family, 00:16:49.80\00:16:52.38 so I stopped in and it was in the evening almost dark, 00:16:52.41\00:16:54.94 hadn't done much all day long. 00:16:54.97\00:16:57.00 And so I knock on the door 00:16:57.03\00:16:59.12 and he says, come on in, come on in, he's in the study. 00:16:59.15\00:17:01.58 So I say let me show you these books you know. 00:17:01.61\00:17:04.58 And so I'm thinking maybe they got a few kids. 00:17:04.61\00:17:06.65 It's probably only 100 plus member church. 00:17:06.68\00:17:09.75 So I said I want to show you these Bible stories. 00:17:09.78\00:17:12.61 Oh, do you sell those? 00:17:12.64\00:17:15.33 I said yeah, and he said you would not believe 00:17:15.36\00:17:17.53 I've been looking everywhere for those. 00:17:17.56\00:17:19.49 He said I have a young married class. 00:17:19.52\00:17:22.03 I have 23 young married couples 00:17:22.06\00:17:24.33 and I want everyone of 'em to buy these sets. 00:17:24.36\00:17:26.25 Amen. 00:17:26.28\00:17:27.31 He said we don't have Sunday school, 00:17:27.34\00:17:28.76 I teach out of these-- 00:17:28.79\00:17:30.39 out of the bed or the Bible stories, that the Uncle Arthur. 00:17:30.42\00:17:34.13 Yeah, Uncle Arthur's Bible stories. 00:17:34.16\00:17:36.32 This is what I used for Sunday's school 00:17:36.35\00:17:38.10 'cause a lot of these folk are new Christians 00:17:38.13\00:17:40.42 and I want a simple understanding. 00:17:40.45\00:17:42.18 So he said you go, 00:17:42.21\00:17:44.50 I'll give you names and the addresses, 00:17:44.53\00:17:45.98 you go to every door and I'm gonna call 'em 00:17:46.01\00:17:48.34 make sure they buy it. 00:17:48.37\00:17:49.40 I don't want any excuse well, that day I sold 23 sets. 00:17:49.43\00:17:52.92 That was your happy day. That was my big day. 00:17:54.37\00:17:56.96 All right 20, and when you knock on the door 00:17:56.99\00:17:59.09 oh, we're so glad. 00:17:59.12\00:18:00.33 Elder, elder-- 00:18:00.36\00:18:01.44 the pastor called us and said you were coming. 00:18:01.47\00:18:03.60 So I said now not all days are like that. 00:18:03.63\00:18:05.68 I guess they just are waiting for that. 00:18:05.71\00:18:08.13 Well, that can be a Bible story record I think. 00:18:08.16\00:18:09.78 I guess. 00:18:09.81\00:18:10.84 But you know ministry in general, Tim, 00:18:10.87\00:18:12.70 it's whether you're pastor 00:18:12.73\00:18:14.64 you know, whether you're singer, whether whatever. 00:18:14.67\00:18:16.48 The devil hates people who's out 00:18:16.51\00:18:18.58 and doing things for the Lord, right? 00:18:18.61\00:18:20.87 And so but...for you to be in this for 33 years. 00:18:20.90\00:18:23.90 That's right. 00:18:23.93\00:18:24.96 So give us some where did you work? 00:18:24.99\00:18:26.90 I mean, always in Tennessee? 00:18:26.93\00:18:28.77 It's always been in the south in the Southern Union. 00:18:28.80\00:18:31.07 I've worked in every conference in the Southern Union 00:18:31.10\00:18:33.22 with exception of Florida, nothing against Florida. 00:18:33.25\00:18:35.70 I've just never been there and I've started out 00:18:35.73\00:18:39.46 my literature ministry in the Gulf States Conference 00:18:39.49\00:18:41.98 as a literature evangelist, 00:18:42.01\00:18:43.42 I've worked in the Carolina Conference 00:18:43.45\00:18:45.20 as a literature evangelist in the district training. 00:18:45.23\00:18:47.53 And as publishing director 00:18:47.56\00:18:48.85 of the Kentucky-Tennessee Conference. 00:18:48.88\00:18:50.34 And now currently I'm publishing director 00:18:50.37\00:18:52.50 of the Georgia-Cumberland Conference 00:18:52.53\00:18:54.11 and working with family home Christian books as well. 00:18:54.14\00:18:57.41 Well, okay. 00:18:57.44\00:18:58.54 What was the most rewarding experience you had 00:18:58.57\00:19:01.55 when you were doing literature evangelism? 00:19:01.58\00:19:03.95 Door to door? 00:19:03.98\00:19:05.04 Now that is a hard question for a literature evangelist. 00:19:05.07\00:19:07.79 We have a lot of beautiful experiences 00:19:07.82\00:19:10.79 but I think of course the baptism experiences 00:19:10.82\00:19:14.30 which I've had a number of them. 00:19:14.33\00:19:16.01 You really can't but to know 00:19:16.04\00:19:17.74 again, just to know that God is providentially there 00:19:17.77\00:19:21.71 and that God has led you to a spot. 00:19:21.74\00:19:24.79 And I remember one time, 00:19:24.82\00:19:26.78 I was working in Eastern North Carolina 00:19:26.81\00:19:29.86 and I did followed up on a car and nobody was there. 00:19:29.89\00:19:33.02 And I had to leave the area next day 00:19:33.05\00:19:35.09 but I got in my car 00:19:35.12\00:19:36.81 and I looked down at the seat beside me 00:19:36.84\00:19:38.67 and the card was there for that home. 00:19:38.70\00:19:40.82 And I just felt really impressed to go see 00:19:40.85\00:19:43.04 that car and I had a little discussion with the Lord 00:19:43.07\00:19:45.71 'cause it was way out of the way 00:19:45.74\00:19:47.37 and finally I gave in and I went there. 00:19:47.40\00:19:50.07 When I drove up to the door, 00:19:50.10\00:19:52.97 to my surprise there was a car that was there in the driveway. 00:19:53.00\00:19:56.28 I'd asked the day before and figured out 00:19:56.31\00:19:58.81 that they worked during the day and when I knocked on the door, 00:19:58.84\00:20:01.75 little grandmotherly lady came to the door 00:20:01.78\00:20:03.83 and she invited me in. 00:20:03.86\00:20:05.75 And before I began my presentation 00:20:05.78\00:20:08.36 I always asked why they sent the card in? 00:20:08.39\00:20:11.73 And she said well, I send it in for my husband. 00:20:11.76\00:20:15.73 And she said he doesn't have much education 00:20:15.76\00:20:17.54 but I saw the Bible story books 00:20:17.57\00:20:18.93 and thought it would be a marvelous thing for him. 00:20:18.96\00:20:21.26 She said but that's all changed. 00:20:21.29\00:20:23.40 She said about the month ago, 00:20:23.43\00:20:24.76 she said my husband went down to the local store, 00:20:24.79\00:20:27.61 a drunk driver came through the intersection 00:20:27.64\00:20:30.34 and killed him. 00:20:30.37\00:20:31.64 And I said, well, Lord why do you have me here? 00:20:31.67\00:20:33.38 And she insisted that I go on with my presentation 00:20:33.41\00:20:36.68 which I did. 00:20:36.71\00:20:38.07 And when I got down to the end, 00:20:38.10\00:20:39.15 I was showing her the book Bible readings 00:20:39.18\00:20:40.52 for the home you know, 00:20:40.55\00:20:41.58 we always hold the book upside down and we kind of fall it, 00:20:41.61\00:20:43.81 you know, how you did when you can, 00:20:43.84\00:20:45.46 so they can see the book. 00:20:45.49\00:20:47.00 And she stopped me, she said, I want to tell you something. 00:20:47.03\00:20:49.09 You're probably not gonna believe this. 00:20:49.12\00:20:51.19 She said but since my husband has passed away, 00:20:51.22\00:20:53.59 it's been really hard and the evenings 00:20:53.62\00:20:54.92 been very difficult. 00:20:54.95\00:20:55.98 She said last night I was so discouraged 00:20:56.01\00:20:58.47 that I just went to bed early. 00:20:58.50\00:21:00.46 And it had been long time since she'd sent this card in 00:21:00.49\00:21:03.10 asking about the books. 00:21:03.13\00:21:04.72 She said that when I went to sleep, 00:21:04.75\00:21:06.73 finally went to sleep she said I had a dream. 00:21:06.76\00:21:09.31 She said in that dream I saw that the next day 00:21:09.34\00:21:12.48 the man was gonna come representing 00:21:12.51\00:21:14.07 these Bible story books-- 00:21:14.10\00:21:15.13 How about that? 00:21:15.16\00:21:16.19 And I knew what it was likes to be like Moses. 00:21:16.22\00:21:18.69 I want to rip off my shoes 00:21:18.72\00:21:21.28 and say God I'm on a holy ground. 00:21:21.31\00:21:22.49 You're standing on a holy ground. 00:21:22.52\00:21:24.08 She said but I took off work today 00:21:24.11\00:21:26.13 because I believe that that dream would come to pass. 00:21:26.16\00:21:28.53 Absolutely. 00:21:28.56\00:21:29.59 And I tell you, you cannot replace an experience-- 00:21:29.62\00:21:32.67 Maybe that's just a coincidence. 00:21:32.70\00:21:35.46 If it was, it was the best one that ever happened to me. 00:21:35.49\00:21:39.01 Well, we-- we're famous around here for saying, 00:21:39.04\00:21:41.30 we don't believe in coincidence, 00:21:41.33\00:21:42.76 we believe in divine providence. 00:21:42.79\00:21:44.39 Oh, absolutely. 00:21:44.42\00:21:45.73 Think about that the lady had the faith, 00:21:45.76\00:21:48.07 had a dream to stay home-- 00:21:48.10\00:21:49.96 That's right to get those volumes and she got 'em 00:21:49.99\00:21:52.30 so she can teach the young people 00:21:52.33\00:21:53.88 in her neighborhood about the Bible. 00:21:53.91\00:21:56.14 But just again, to know that you're God's person 00:21:56.17\00:21:58.84 right where God wants you at the time 00:21:58.87\00:22:00.49 that God wants you there filling the need. 00:22:00.52\00:22:02.31 There's just nothing that can replace. 00:22:02.34\00:22:04.53 Well, what a beautiful, beautiful experience. 00:22:04.56\00:22:07.29 So tell me how you got-- 00:22:07.32\00:22:09.51 how you and Dwight work together? 00:22:09.54\00:22:10.81 How did you guys meet 00:22:10.84\00:22:11.87 and what's your relationship now? 00:22:11.90\00:22:13.86 Well, that's one of those God's providence things-- 00:22:13.89\00:22:16.41 Okay. 00:22:16.44\00:22:17.47 It's not coincidence. It's providence here. 00:22:17.50\00:22:19.98 As you may know in North America 00:22:20.01\00:22:21.72 there's been a lot of change in the publishing ministry. 00:22:21.75\00:22:25.09 And there's a lot of independent 00:22:25.12\00:22:27.09 literature evangelists out there 00:22:27.12\00:22:28.54 that suddenly found themselves without a support program, 00:22:28.57\00:22:32.02 plus with our regular literature evangelists, 00:22:32.05\00:22:34.03 we were trying to think how can we take literature evangelism 00:22:34.06\00:22:36.88 to a new level to help us out. 00:22:36.91\00:22:39.70 And Jim Wilson who works for organization 00:22:39.73\00:22:42.20 that had been talking with Dwight and Dwight said, 00:22:42.23\00:22:44.07 you know, I have this really good program, it's that-- 00:22:44.10\00:22:47.85 it's an online program that 00:22:47.88\00:22:49.16 I think would work with literature evangelist. 00:22:49.19\00:22:51.47 And Jim called me up and he said, this is it. 00:22:51.50\00:22:54.09 He said, we got to do this, 00:22:54.12\00:22:55.78 don't let it pass by, just like that. 00:22:55.81\00:22:58.75 And so we started talking and it really has been 00:22:58.78\00:23:01.46 a tremendous blessing on our program. 00:23:01.49\00:23:04.01 Your ministry or organization's family home Christian books? 00:23:04.04\00:23:06.45 Family home Christian books, that's right. 00:23:06.48\00:23:08.84 And it's a web based program for literature evangelist. 00:23:08.87\00:23:11.74 Every literature evangelist receives a web page. 00:23:11.77\00:23:14.39 Okay. 00:23:14.42\00:23:15.45 And when they go out, they make contacts. 00:23:15.48\00:23:17.59 Before we've always had the problem, 00:23:17.62\00:23:18.97 a literature evangelist can contact the lot of people, 00:23:19.00\00:23:21.44 but to do follow up from all those people 00:23:21.47\00:23:23.45 is almost an impossible thing for me to do. 00:23:23.48\00:23:25.85 Well, with this program after they-- 00:23:25.88\00:23:27.57 in a home the people register 00:23:27.60\00:23:29.90 and we put them in on our system 00:23:29.93\00:23:31.23 and then once a month we send them specials 00:23:31.26\00:23:33.58 and we keep in contact with the people. 00:23:33.61\00:23:35.47 And the literature evangelists as the people ordered 00:23:35.50\00:23:37.76 they get the commission just as if 00:23:37.79\00:23:39.01 they were in the home at that time. 00:23:39.04\00:23:40.07 Oh, wow. That is great. 00:23:40.10\00:23:41.84 If they had it that time, 00:23:41.87\00:23:43.52 you know, I might still be doing. 00:23:43.55\00:23:45.30 But it makes a-- 00:23:45.33\00:23:46.39 It's too late for me moving back in it. 00:23:46.42\00:23:48.25 It makes a residual income for the literature evangelist 00:23:48.28\00:23:50.64 that allows us to keep in contact with the people. 00:23:50.67\00:23:52.81 When they order, the literature evangelist 00:23:52.84\00:23:54.34 can call him and thank him and start developing 00:23:54.37\00:23:56.79 a relationship with people that are sincerely interested. 00:23:56.82\00:24:00.28 Plus it gives us database for evangelism. 00:24:00.31\00:24:04.53 If the town is having an evangelistic series 00:24:04.56\00:24:06.72 or cooking school. 00:24:06.75\00:24:07.85 We're developing this huge database of information. 00:24:07.88\00:24:11.72 All they have to do is contacts. 00:24:11.75\00:24:12.78 We know everybody just bought a cookbook. 00:24:12.81\00:24:14.51 We know everybody's bought a prophecy book. 00:24:14.54\00:24:16.31 And we can send them specialized invitations 00:24:16.34\00:24:19.06 for these events. 00:24:19.09\00:24:20.12 That's tremendous. 00:24:20.15\00:24:21.18 That to me, that's bringing the gospel up-- 00:24:21.21\00:24:24.15 Well, the gospel is timeless 00:24:24.18\00:24:25.90 but it's bringing the message up to our time. 00:24:25.93\00:24:29.53 It's so...that is a, it's a win-win for everybody. 00:24:29.56\00:24:32.55 Oh, we think it just, it was God send, 00:24:32.58\00:24:35.42 there's no other way to look at it. 00:24:35.45\00:24:37.14 It blends the traditional literature evangelism. 00:24:37.17\00:24:39.52 You cannot replace face to face contact, 00:24:39.55\00:24:41.69 door to door. 00:24:41.72\00:24:42.75 But you got to have some mechanism 00:24:42.78\00:24:44.32 and it spraggs the mechanism for contact for future orders 00:24:44.35\00:24:47.99 for building up there a way 00:24:48.02\00:24:49.49 that they can stay in their ministry. 00:24:49.52\00:24:50.93 It's just an all around blessing. 00:24:50.96\00:24:52.49 And so we developed this relationship 00:24:52.52\00:24:56.98 and Remnant Publications has been a big blessing 00:24:57.01\00:25:00.37 as far as they help with our shipping 00:25:00.40\00:25:03.57 and lot of the technology that they help developed. 00:25:03.60\00:25:06.92 But it's actually grown much bigger 00:25:06.95\00:25:09.08 than just Remnant Publications and organization. 00:25:09.11\00:25:12.30 Dwight and I both, we have the vision 00:25:12.33\00:25:14.21 that now is the time when every ministry 00:25:14.24\00:25:16.72 and Adventist Church should be working together. 00:25:16.75\00:25:19.79 The day has come when we first to stop 00:25:19.82\00:25:21.42 being independent ministries doing what we're doing. 00:25:21.45\00:25:24.04 And so we've gone into partnership 00:25:24.07\00:25:26.01 with other ministries. 00:25:26.04\00:25:27.71 You know, for instance Breath Of Life, 00:25:27.74\00:25:29.46 It Is Written, and 3ABN as well, and Amazing Facts. 00:25:29.49\00:25:34.11 We've gone into a partnership with these, 00:25:34.14\00:25:36.51 where as literature evangelist used to carry half a dozen 00:25:36.54\00:25:39.97 or dozen items to make available to people. 00:25:40.00\00:25:43.23 Now we have over 500 items 00:25:43.26\00:25:46.14 that the literature evangelist can offer in home. 00:25:46.17\00:25:48.61 If a person is interested in prophecy but doesn't read, 00:25:48.64\00:25:51.77 you know, they can get John Bradshaw's prophecy DVDs 00:25:51.80\00:25:54.85 from literature evangelists and literature evangelists 00:25:54.88\00:25:56.95 makes a commission based on that, 00:25:56.98\00:25:58.80 so it just opened up lots of options. 00:25:58.83\00:26:02.37 And something else too which he mentioned the partnership 00:26:02.40\00:26:04.92 but like with 3ABN is partnering 00:26:04.95\00:26:07.90 on the deal with bookmarks. 00:26:07.93\00:26:10.04 So what happens on the one side of the bookmark 00:26:10.07\00:26:11.93 which I think Tim has one here. 00:26:11.96\00:26:15.13 This is, this is... it is Written one 00:26:15.16\00:26:17.63 but you have 3ABN on there and on the back 00:26:17.66\00:26:19.71 then the LEs has the number on there. 00:26:19.74\00:26:23.18 Which that's what gives them their commission 00:26:23.21\00:26:25.53 with that person but they go there in person 00:26:25.56\00:26:27.72 which you know about meet in advertising, 00:26:27.75\00:26:29.95 you only get a percentage. 00:26:29.98\00:26:31.62 Well, when you hand somebody and say 00:26:31.65\00:26:33.50 hey, you need to be watching 3ABN, 00:26:33.53\00:26:35.32 they have cooking classes. 00:26:35.35\00:26:37.00 You know they have doctor classes 00:26:37.03\00:26:38.36 and inspirationally they have lots of things. 00:26:38.39\00:26:40.46 So you share that and it say and that shows on that bookmark 00:26:40.49\00:26:43.30 how they can turn on to that television station. 00:26:43.33\00:26:46.30 So those LEs that are pounding the payments so to speak, 00:26:46.33\00:26:49.36 there's hundreds of LEs out there. 00:26:49.39\00:26:51.39 They are out there knocking on the doors, 00:26:51.42\00:26:52.50 handing out that bookmark which to me is touch. 00:26:52.53\00:26:56.25 It's not just on the air, so it's a pretty neat thing 00:26:56.28\00:26:59.12 when you think about it, you know. 00:26:59.15\00:27:00.64 That's wonderful. 00:27:00.67\00:27:01.70 You are also doing something 00:27:01.73\00:27:02.76 I think with the antichrist agenda, right? 00:27:02.79\00:27:04.76 That is right. That is right. 00:27:04.79\00:27:06.25 Of course during the summer we have this army 00:27:06.28\00:27:07.98 of young people that come in, our Magabook students. 00:27:08.01\00:27:10.27 I saw it and it looks beautiful. 00:27:10.30\00:27:12.13 Absolutely beautiful. Oh, it is, it is. 00:27:12.16\00:27:13.81 And Brandon was-- 00:27:13.84\00:27:15.89 Brandon Tygret developed it here. 00:27:15.92\00:27:17.83 They actually called us 00:27:17.86\00:27:18.89 and said what are the people in the field 00:27:18.92\00:27:20.43 and that was a blessing to us. 00:27:20.46\00:27:21.94 And what are the people in the field need 00:27:21.97\00:27:23.62 out of this book to make it presentable 00:27:23.65\00:27:26.00 from your perspective. 00:27:26.03\00:27:27.06 And he tried to work with us in developing a book 00:27:27.09\00:27:29.15 in such a way that it would fit our needs. 00:27:29.18\00:27:30.87 Yeah, that's wonderful. 00:27:30.90\00:27:32.80 We were centering and I want to center in on specifically 00:27:32.83\00:27:37.75 what we're here, one of the... the testimony is great. 00:27:37.78\00:27:40.45 Thank you for those. It encourages us so much. 00:27:40.48\00:27:43.16 Couple things I want to do. 00:27:43.19\00:27:44.33 I want to center in on the newest project 00:27:44.36\00:27:46.06 you guys got going, I think it's amazing. 00:27:46.09\00:27:48.40 But also for people who are there now. 00:27:48.43\00:27:51.61 In fact I just talked to a guy the other day, 00:27:51.64\00:27:53.91 he's been in business, a businessman 00:27:53.94\00:27:56.11 fairly new Adventist and he said to me, 00:27:56.14\00:27:58.63 I just don't know what I'm gonna do, 00:27:58.66\00:28:00.47 I went out of that, I feel like-- 00:28:00.50\00:28:02.19 I want to work for the Lord but I'm not a pastor. 00:28:02.22\00:28:04.71 He's a great guy smiling, I'm sitting here thinking, 00:28:04.74\00:28:06.97 what about the people who are watching, 00:28:07.00\00:28:08.55 maybe they want to get involved and say you know what, 00:28:08.58\00:28:11.10 I want to become a literature evangelist. 00:28:11.13\00:28:13.06 Is there anyway they can contact you? 00:28:13.09\00:28:14.71 Who should they do this work with? 00:28:14.74\00:28:16.97 Maybe they say we want to work with, 00:28:17.00\00:28:18.63 with you all and think about is to help 00:28:18.66\00:28:21.59 because I believe there are people watching this says, 00:28:21.62\00:28:23.40 you know what, 00:28:23.43\00:28:24.46 I want to get away from what I was doing. 00:28:24.49\00:28:26.11 I want to just spend my time in the Lord's work 00:28:26.14\00:28:28.58 and especially when you hear stories like this 00:28:28.61\00:28:31.06 that Tim is sharing with us. 00:28:31.09\00:28:32.57 It makes you want to get out there 00:28:32.60\00:28:33.82 and be part of the Lord's work. 00:28:33.85\00:28:34.99 And that's the beauty of the program 00:28:35.02\00:28:36.95 that we have now. 00:28:36.98\00:28:38.41 Because if-- since we service with the internet, 00:28:38.44\00:28:41.88 then the literature evangelist can actually go to the internet 00:28:41.91\00:28:44.14 order their books. 00:28:44.17\00:28:45.23 They can get training, they can get all of that 00:28:45.26\00:28:47.07 by this website that anybody anywhere 00:28:47.10\00:28:50.55 can sign up for the program. 00:28:50.58\00:28:52.87 And we believe, you know, some people in our day 00:28:52.90\00:28:55.94 and time believes that publishing is on its last leg. 00:28:55.97\00:28:58.61 We don't believe that. 00:28:58.64\00:28:59.67 We believe the revival is coming in publishing. 00:28:59.70\00:29:02.85 We believe the Lord is pouring out sprit and people 00:29:02.88\00:29:04.95 just like you talked about from all over are calling 00:29:04.98\00:29:07.75 and saying we want to do something for Lord. 00:29:07.78\00:29:09.48 People realize the times we live in. 00:29:09.51\00:29:11.50 But what it is that Yvonne hit on it is 00:29:11.53\00:29:14.09 because you are bringing-- 00:29:14.12\00:29:15.48 you're incorporating the technology, 00:29:15.51\00:29:17.48 today's technology just books in general, you know, 00:29:17.51\00:29:21.32 but when we're gonna find out what you have going here, 00:29:21.35\00:29:24.08 I mean it's not like you're just picking up 00:29:24.11\00:29:26.51 34 years ago book and reading it. 00:29:26.54\00:29:28.30 Because everybody I mean, kids know more about computers 00:29:28.33\00:29:32.60 than phones and all that than most of us adults do. 00:29:32.63\00:29:35.62 So if you're gonna keep that audience, 00:29:35.65\00:29:37.73 you got to find ways to interact with them. 00:29:37.76\00:29:40.06 That's right and the neat thing too 00:29:40.09\00:29:41.85 just going back maybe a little bit 00:29:41.88\00:29:44.59 on who can get involved? 00:29:44.62\00:29:47.32 The one thing about the literature evangelism 00:29:47.35\00:29:48.97 is it's pretty much a full time job. 00:29:49.00\00:29:50.64 It wasn't really brought out to be a part time job. 00:29:50.67\00:29:53.36 Sure. 00:29:53.39\00:29:54.42 And my dream has always been, what about the homes, 00:29:54.45\00:29:56.86 kids at home schooling? 00:29:56.89\00:29:58.77 You know, I've...I've been to different churches 00:29:58.80\00:30:02.37 and say I want something for our kids, 00:30:02.40\00:30:04.50 I like to see them knocking the door 00:30:04.53\00:30:06.56 and just share around the neighborhood. 00:30:06.59\00:30:08.52 And I would, you know, the mother would go with him 00:30:08.55\00:30:10.13 or the father whatever so. 00:30:10.16\00:30:11.64 It's pretty cool because it's a part time thing. 00:30:11.67\00:30:14.91 I would say there's thousands of viewers, 00:30:14.94\00:30:17.83 they could do something on a part time basis. 00:30:17.86\00:30:19.98 They're not worried about the money. 00:30:20.01\00:30:22.06 They just want to reach the neighborhood 00:30:22.09\00:30:23.92 and yet and they care something so they cannot be so shy 00:30:23.95\00:30:27.21 and they can go to door and the parents can help them. 00:30:27.24\00:30:29.25 So anybody can get involved 00:30:29.28\00:30:30.60 and I and so it isn't like you got to get in this 00:30:30.63\00:30:32.40 and do it 8-10 hours a day. 00:30:32.43\00:30:34.15 You can do it two hours a day. 00:30:34.18\00:30:36.23 What if somebody has never got a book out ever? 00:30:36.26\00:30:40.21 And they just did one in the year, 00:30:40.24\00:30:41.53 to me that's successful. 00:30:41.56\00:30:43.50 You know, because they didn't-- and what if that book 00:30:43.53\00:30:45.63 went to somebody that became a baptized member 00:30:45.66\00:30:48.42 and they would they'd be evangelists 00:30:48.45\00:30:49.97 and baptize thousands of people. 00:30:50.00\00:30:52.13 I mean if you can imagine that, so it's what can one book do? 00:30:52.16\00:30:56.57 You know so it isn't like I wouldn't be successful 00:30:56.60\00:30:59.31 if I only can get 10 books out. 00:30:59.34\00:31:01.45 I mean what if they get three out, 00:31:01.48\00:31:03.49 it could be successful and that's what 00:31:03.52\00:31:05.20 so neat about the program. 00:31:05.23\00:31:06.78 And they have a website. Absolutely. 00:31:06.81\00:31:09.26 It really ensures, you know, that the opportunity 00:31:09.29\00:31:13.30 for future orders, because they have a website. 00:31:13.33\00:31:16.25 I mean, I think that's a-- this is a magnificent idea. 00:31:16.28\00:31:18.71 And they're touched every, every month 00:31:18.74\00:31:20.30 and we're gonna do probably end up 00:31:20.33\00:31:21.68 doing it probably every two weeks. 00:31:21.71\00:31:24.10 Where any new products that come out 00:31:24.13\00:31:26.37 and of course you have a database, 00:31:26.40\00:31:27.69 so if they bought a set of the Bible stories, 00:31:27.72\00:31:29.71 if they bought bed time stories, 00:31:29.74\00:31:30.94 if they bought, you know, whatever they bought 00:31:30.97\00:31:34.28 then you know that and you say-- 00:31:34.31\00:31:36.45 you have got this, you enjoyed this, 00:31:36.48\00:31:37.93 you might enjoy this. 00:31:37.96\00:31:38.99 It's a new product out there. 00:31:39.02\00:31:40.41 And so now they can buy that 00:31:40.44\00:31:42.03 because the colporteurs can't continue to go back 00:31:42.06\00:31:44.86 to the same doors, but they do need to use-- 00:31:44.89\00:31:46.66 those are their client so to speak 00:31:46.69\00:31:49.72 and that's how you build that. 00:31:49.75\00:31:51.13 Anyway it excites me when I talk about it. 00:31:51.16\00:31:53.40 I get excited too when I think about, you know, 00:31:53.43\00:31:55.76 using technology to reach people for Jesus 00:31:55.79\00:31:58.23 I mean that's the thing. It's awesome. 00:31:58.26\00:31:59.89 Absolutely. 00:31:59.92\00:32:00.95 Well, let's talk about this book. 00:32:00.98\00:32:02.46 I see a book here called the Miracle Man. 00:32:02.49\00:32:04.37 Yeah. Tell us about this? 00:32:04.40\00:32:06.21 Well, and the product we show on the screen right now. 00:32:06.24\00:32:09.97 We're designing it-- it's on the screen. 00:32:10.00\00:32:11.68 We're designing a series seven volumes set 00:32:11.71\00:32:14.82 of the Bible stories but really it goes along 00:32:14.85\00:32:18.07 with the Conflict of the Ages. 00:32:18.10\00:32:20.33 So the one neat thing about these, 00:32:20.36\00:32:21.96 now I want to make a statement right now, 00:32:21.99\00:32:24.74 my parents read me the Bible stories. 00:32:24.77\00:32:27.28 Okay. 00:32:27.31\00:32:28.34 I listened them over and over again. 00:32:28.37\00:32:30.74 When we-- my wife and I got married, 00:32:30.77\00:32:32.61 Debbie and I got married, we bought a set 00:32:32.64\00:32:34.44 and we read 'em to our kids. 00:32:34.47\00:32:36.41 And you cannot be-- that's an icon 00:32:36.44\00:32:39.59 they're like 65 years, they came out in the 50s. 00:32:39.62\00:32:41.91 I mean that's an icon but the one thing about those 00:32:41.94\00:32:45.41 is that they haven't really changed that much 00:32:45.44\00:32:47.81 and there's not interaction. 00:32:47.84\00:32:49.69 So this seven volume set is out of the conflict, 00:32:49.72\00:32:52.74 so is but the neat thing is the seventh volume 00:32:52.77\00:32:54.59 is on the Great Controversy but for kids. 00:32:54.62\00:32:56.76 Okay. Okay, that's number one. 00:32:56.79\00:32:58.36 Number two is we at the end of every chapter 00:32:58.39\00:33:01.83 on these seven volumes set is an interaction page, 00:33:01.86\00:33:06.48 there's a QR code, okay. 00:33:06.51\00:33:08.58 And there is also a prayer for the story like Goliath, 00:33:08.61\00:33:12.20 it says I think the prayer is one line, 00:33:12.23\00:33:14.41 it basically says when you feel you have giants, obstacles, 00:33:14.44\00:33:19.29 you can trust in God just like David did. 00:33:19.32\00:33:22.50 There's an app in here that will take-- 00:33:22.53\00:33:25.48 you can just put your Kindle your iPad, iPhone whatever, 00:33:25.51\00:33:29.93 and you can put it on a picture 00:33:29.96\00:33:32.22 and then like this picture here is of Gideon I think, 00:33:32.25\00:33:35.36 if they show those pictures again 00:33:35.39\00:33:37.45 and there's Gideon you could see on there. 00:33:37.48\00:33:39.06 So they-- in the story book if they put that iPhone 00:33:39.09\00:33:41.83 or whatever on that picture, all of a sudden 00:33:41.86\00:33:43.42 you could probably will hear the horn sounding. 00:33:43.45\00:33:46.12 Wow. 00:33:46.15\00:33:47.18 So they could go through every picture in this book 00:33:47.21\00:33:50.59 and they'll be able to, you know, 00:33:50.62\00:33:52.32 maybe there's one with Noah and the Ark and the peeper, 00:33:52.35\00:33:54.83 maybe you'll hear him pounding on like Noah, let us in. 00:33:54.86\00:33:57.64 So it'll be an interactive set of stories within app 00:33:57.67\00:34:02.76 that which will attach the website. 00:34:02.79\00:34:06.22 It's just gonna be awesome 00:34:06.25\00:34:07.53 and then we also have it in audio. 00:34:07.56\00:34:09.69 So they're flipped into the pictures there. 00:34:09.72\00:34:11.43 These pictures we've done over 700 pictures that we're buying, 00:34:11.46\00:34:15.24 we've got 20 artists that are doing this 00:34:15.27\00:34:17.20 that'll be our pictures. 00:34:17.23\00:34:18.53 We're doing all brand new stories 00:34:18.56\00:34:19.75 which Brad Booth is helping with the stories 00:34:19.78\00:34:22.64 and he's did a lot of children's books 00:34:22.67\00:34:24.50 so he is well known. 00:34:24.53\00:34:26.42 And you can see those pictures there, 00:34:26.45\00:34:28.01 they are up to date, they're fresh 00:34:28.04\00:34:31.45 but the neat thing which I like is 00:34:31.48\00:34:33.12 that the publishing isn't going down 00:34:33.15\00:34:35.18 but publishing does changing. 00:34:35.21\00:34:37.49 And kids are used to looking at their-- 00:34:37.52\00:34:40.17 You know, fonts and so you need to do something 00:34:40.20\00:34:42.84 and when mom and dad aren't around 00:34:42.87\00:34:43.99 which they're all busy today, you know they can-- 00:34:44.02\00:34:46.64 they can hear the story from the audio we went through, 00:34:46.67\00:34:49.40 I went through 125 professional voices. 00:34:49.43\00:34:53.04 That's a lot of work just to listen to them online 00:34:53.07\00:34:54.82 after while they seem sound-- 00:34:54.85\00:34:55.94 I don't remember getting a phone call. 00:34:55.97\00:34:57.43 You know, neither did I, you know, as I think about it. 00:34:57.46\00:35:01.80 Yeah, okay, well, that's fine go ahead. 00:35:01.83\00:35:05.54 We're not too sensitive about it. 00:35:05.57\00:35:07.32 Okay, I hate rejection. 00:35:07.35\00:35:08.66 I'm just afraid you would have said no, 00:35:08.69\00:35:11.24 so that's why I didn't. 00:35:11.27\00:35:12.31 You got out of that well. I was sweating a little bit. 00:35:12.34\00:35:15.05 Yeah, you got the golden tongue, 00:35:15.08\00:35:16.11 you're forgiven. 00:35:16.14\00:35:18.19 But anyways and we've got this a Christian man. 00:35:18.22\00:35:21.16 I mean we had men and women but he's tremendous 00:35:21.19\00:35:24.08 and they'll be some sound effects 00:35:24.11\00:35:25.28 within like one is that when Goliath slaps his knee, 00:35:25.31\00:35:28.61 you hear the slap 00:35:28.64\00:35:30.41 and so it's gonna be awesome audio. 00:35:30.44\00:35:33.31 And but, but again not just the audio 00:35:33.34\00:35:35.42 but it'll be on this hidden treasure question, 00:35:35.45\00:35:39.33 they'll be like three questions asking, 00:35:39.36\00:35:42.30 you know, the parents can ask. 00:35:42.33\00:35:43.36 Okay, now what about what happened here? 00:35:43.39\00:35:45.64 Simple questions that keep them involve 00:35:45.67\00:35:47.71 but the neatest thing is the interaction, 00:35:47.74\00:35:49.17 that's what neat in it. 00:35:49.20\00:35:50.58 And again there's 40 stories for each one and there is, 00:35:50.61\00:35:54.39 so there's about 280 stories, seven volumes. 00:35:54.42\00:35:56.45 And the reason they're seven, 00:35:56.48\00:35:57.51 there's only five in the Conflict series 00:35:57.54\00:35:59.04 but Patriarchs and Prophets is such a big book. 00:35:59.07\00:36:01.45 So we have two volumes in Patriarchs and Prophets 00:36:01.48\00:36:03.38 and two volumes in Desire of Ages. 00:36:03.41\00:36:05.19 But it goes through that and then of course 00:36:05.22\00:36:07.66 with a LE work with a Conflict set, 00:36:07.69\00:36:10.73 our classic Conflict and that's why we call it 00:36:10.76\00:36:12.75 the children's classics, centric classics 00:36:12.78\00:36:15.24 because it goes along with the hardback conflicts, 00:36:15.27\00:36:17.80 so now the adult-- you can, 00:36:17.83\00:36:19.46 the LE can say and you can get this 00:36:19.49\00:36:21.68 for the adults and there's even more stories in here. 00:36:21.71\00:36:24.29 So anyway and this will be out probably in June 00:36:24.32\00:36:26.59 and we're excited because I think it's been long overdue 00:36:26.62\00:36:31.27 something like this to come out. 00:36:31.30\00:36:32.95 Absolutely and that's the go ye, you know, 00:36:32.98\00:36:35.73 not be satisfied with where you are 00:36:35.76\00:36:38.27 but say look technology is changing people's, 00:36:38.30\00:36:41.45 you know, ideas and people's education 00:36:41.48\00:36:43.93 is changing, everything is changing 00:36:43.96\00:36:45.78 and how do we keep up and keep an audience 00:36:45.81\00:36:48.70 and keep in touch with these young folk 00:36:48.73\00:36:50.63 without compromising. 00:36:50.66\00:36:52.28 You know, lot of times what we see even in churches, 00:36:52.31\00:36:54.71 they got all this stuff interactive things coming 00:36:54.74\00:36:57.20 but it's to me it's compromising the gospel. 00:36:57.23\00:37:00.62 And so this isn't compromising, 00:37:00.65\00:37:02.34 this is just making it real hearing the sounds 00:37:02.37\00:37:05.24 and being able to take download an app 00:37:05.27\00:37:07.11 and go to the website and follow along 00:37:07.14\00:37:10.24 with the books as you read it. 00:37:10.27\00:37:11.58 I mean, really that's brilliant. 00:37:11.61\00:37:13.42 It really is 00:37:13.45\00:37:14.49 and when you think about what it's doing, 00:37:14.52\00:37:16.62 it's connecting an experience with the story. 00:37:16.65\00:37:19.85 So it makes it much more memorable. 00:37:19.88\00:37:21.78 It makes it come alive. Absolutely. 00:37:21.81\00:37:23.84 And we need that for kids because attention spans, 00:37:23.87\00:37:26.26 when I grow up of course, I was an exception 00:37:26.29\00:37:28.76 my attention span was like the kids today. 00:37:28.79\00:37:31.56 It should have been a lot better, you now. 00:37:31.59\00:37:34.51 But today the attention span for young people 00:37:34.54\00:37:38.19 even for adults aren't that great 00:37:38.22\00:37:40.67 so there is stage, you know, it is what it is. 00:37:40.70\00:37:43.52 We can't say I don't really care, 00:37:43.55\00:37:44.58 you know, you need to be sit down 00:37:44.61\00:37:45.69 and read the chapter of the Bible. 00:37:45.72\00:37:46.81 You're not gonna get anywhere 00:37:46.84\00:37:48.42 and so what you need to do is without-- 00:37:48.45\00:37:50.96 which I like what you said, Danny, 00:37:50.99\00:37:52.02 we cannot sacrifice our principles. 00:37:52.05\00:37:54.51 But what we can do is and what you said Yvonne is, 00:37:54.54\00:37:56.58 let's give them an experience that this Bible is exciting. 00:37:56.61\00:38:00.95 That I want this God of heaven, 00:38:00.98\00:38:03.02 I want to know more about Him 00:38:03.05\00:38:05.03 that took this boy David and killed 00:38:05.06\00:38:07.91 and slew this giant Goliath and more stories like that 00:38:07.94\00:38:11.11 and it's all about trust in God. 00:38:11.14\00:38:12.80 It's all about being obedient 00:38:12.83\00:38:14.36 and the consequences of being disobedient. 00:38:14.39\00:38:16.43 And if you love Me, keep My commandments. 00:38:16.46\00:38:18.21 So anyway that's what these stories 00:38:18.24\00:38:20.17 and how this is all gonna work. 00:38:20.20\00:38:21.75 And it's great to think too that 00:38:21.78\00:38:23.52 parents can have some, 00:38:23.55\00:38:25.30 you know, we talk about this too 00:38:25.33\00:38:26.76 about creating memories for your children. 00:38:26.79\00:38:29.81 What great memories, 00:38:29.84\00:38:30.87 I mean my dad and my mom sat and read this to me 00:38:30.90\00:38:33.88 and I heard this I mean, 00:38:33.91\00:38:36.05 it's an experience connected with an emotion. 00:38:36.08\00:38:39.31 I mean I think it's-- it makes it memorable. 00:38:39.34\00:38:42.24 It is. Absolutely. 00:38:42.27\00:38:43.96 You were talking about, I don't know 00:38:43.99\00:38:45.06 what they call that short memory, 00:38:45.09\00:38:47.15 was that ADD or what's the other? 00:38:47.18\00:38:50.20 ADHD. 00:38:50.23\00:38:51.26 And ADHD I would have had that one 00:38:51.29\00:38:53.51 when I was a kid but my dad wouldn't let me. 00:38:53.54\00:38:56.05 So I guarantee you 99% of that would be gone 00:38:56.08\00:38:59.62 if my dad were around today. 00:38:59.76\00:39:01.50 He had four boys and we want 00:39:01.53\00:39:02.87 to have assured attention and there's no way 00:39:02.90\00:39:05.37 'cause he worked you over if he did in a good way. 00:39:05.40\00:39:07.72 You know, Dwight, what the Bible said, 00:39:07.75\00:39:09.05 it believe not sparing the rod and spoil the child 00:39:09.08\00:39:11.25 so that always got my attention. 00:39:11.28\00:39:13.13 So my dad is resting in Jesus when I get to see him 00:39:13.16\00:39:16.96 I'm gonna thank him for care and love. 00:39:16.99\00:39:18.83 No, I'm not saying there is a such a thing 00:39:18.86\00:39:20.49 but take-- take it for what it is 00:39:20.52\00:39:22.41 but I understand a lot of this. 00:39:22.44\00:39:24.19 I got a feeling that was your problem 00:39:24.22\00:39:25.46 and had nothing to do with any physical thing going on. 00:39:25.49\00:39:28.38 I got a feeling, Dwight just didn't want to pay attention. 00:39:28.41\00:39:31.97 That's what all my teachers said. 00:39:32.00\00:39:34.26 I told my parents but they just don't understand 00:39:34.29\00:39:37.36 but, you know, of course, now that got us a little bit. 00:39:37.39\00:39:40.42 But my dad was the same way but that's a thing, 00:39:40.45\00:39:42.72 we want to reach out to the young people 00:39:42.75\00:39:46.17 and one thing just 00:39:46.20\00:39:47.23 maybe to transition a little bit that-- 00:39:47.26\00:39:49.70 that maybe the viewers might know 00:39:49.73\00:39:52.30 what we want to do. 00:39:52.33\00:39:53.86 This book that I've got right here 00:39:53.89\00:39:55.07 that I'm showing you on the screen here, 00:39:55.10\00:39:57.17 this is what they call a lead book where they put, 00:39:57.20\00:40:00.33 that's why this is the thin book 00:40:00.36\00:40:02.41 and we had this hand done. 00:40:02.44\00:40:03.47 But it goes in, there's like, there's like 10 stories in here 00:40:03.50\00:40:06.75 and it can go into doctor's offices 00:40:06.78\00:40:08.24 or dentist's offices or chiropractor offices 00:40:08.27\00:40:11.25 or just professional offices and what we really want to do, 00:40:11.28\00:40:15.36 Tim and I had been talking. 00:40:15.39\00:40:16.72 We want to try to get this in that, 00:40:16.75\00:40:18.76 you know, with these LEs are out there 00:40:18.79\00:40:20.17 get it into every dentist's office, 00:40:20.20\00:40:23.65 doctor's office, of course you have a little 00:40:23.68\00:40:25.73 deal with cards in here so they can get that 00:40:25.76\00:40:27.75 and they can contact, you know, 00:40:27.78\00:40:30.46 on the website to get these books. 00:40:30.49\00:40:32.67 And honestly it just hit me, you know, 00:40:32.70\00:40:34.43 this is wonderful too that reminded me of the lady 00:40:34.46\00:40:37.91 that said her husband, you know, 00:40:37.94\00:40:39.64 she wanted to get it for him 00:40:39.67\00:40:40.83 because he was simple, you know, 00:40:40.86\00:40:43.40 and didn't read that well or didn't understand 00:40:43.43\00:40:45.97 because what for whatever reason 00:40:46.00\00:40:47.86 there's a huge audience today of adults 00:40:47.89\00:40:51.67 that we're finding out lot in the inner cities and all 00:40:51.70\00:40:54.88 that this would be perfect for because it's a way to bring. 00:40:54.91\00:40:57.74 Sometimes you read, the Bible's little tough. 00:40:57.77\00:41:00.18 But you put it in today's language, 00:41:00.21\00:41:02.02 you put it in where people can understand it. 00:41:02.05\00:41:04.17 You make it interesting and so I think 00:41:04.20\00:41:07.28 we shouldn't limit this to just children. 00:41:07.31\00:41:10.21 I think this is for everybody and I enjoy. 00:41:10.24\00:41:12.80 I've read the Bible stories read to my kids. 00:41:12.83\00:41:15.10 I mean, I do it, I enjoy it and this is another one, 00:41:15.13\00:41:18.56 I mean to me this is great. 00:41:18.59\00:41:20.79 I want to get a set of these for my grand baby, 00:41:20.82\00:41:22.38 he's the youngest one 00:41:22.41\00:41:23.45 'cause they're going to want 'em 00:41:23.48\00:41:25.14 as long as I get to be a part and read him 00:41:25.17\00:41:26.85 'cause it's really what I'm saying 00:41:26.88\00:41:28.82 that the gospel is simple, it should be. 00:41:28.85\00:41:31.40 But sometimes some of the, you know, King James is great 00:41:31.43\00:41:33.76 but it's little hard to understand 00:41:33.79\00:41:35.26 but when we can get these stories 00:41:35.29\00:41:37.03 and then get 'em to our young kids. 00:41:37.06\00:41:38.63 I could-- he is talking I'm gonna think about 00:41:38.66\00:41:40.69 baby faith in Jonah-- 00:41:40.72\00:41:42.23 Saying well, we can use an app. 00:41:42.26\00:41:43.44 We can hear the sounds and we can hear all of this. 00:41:43.47\00:41:45.56 They'll love it. Absolutely. 00:41:45.59\00:41:46.94 They will. That's nice. 00:41:46.97\00:41:48.59 I want to follow up just a little bit 00:41:48.62\00:41:49.91 on what Dwight was saying 00:41:49.94\00:41:51.07 about putting these in all the different, 00:41:51.10\00:41:52.95 not just doctor's offices any person, 00:41:52.98\00:41:55.60 place a person sits and wait. 00:41:55.63\00:41:57.70 We want Seventh-day Adventist materials to be represented. 00:41:57.73\00:42:01.23 You know, people go in and they read those, 00:42:01.26\00:42:02.83 all those garbage to read that's around there, 00:42:02.86\00:42:04.86 for kids included and but we want something 00:42:04.89\00:42:08.31 to be there that's of value in those different places. 00:42:08.34\00:42:11.67 When we're taking places you know, 00:42:11.70\00:42:12.97 it's a ministry in itself actually just putting the books 00:42:13.00\00:42:15.81 in a different waiting areas. 00:42:15.84\00:42:17.49 And you think of all across of North America, 00:42:17.52\00:42:20.05 all the different place that these are, 00:42:20.08\00:42:21.76 they stand as a testimony kind of an altar, 00:42:21.79\00:42:23.94 a pillar to the Lord in the middle 00:42:23.97\00:42:25.46 of all the trouble and when parents 00:42:25.49\00:42:27.03 come into doctor's office, they have a headache, 00:42:27.06\00:42:28.78 they have whatever, kids are sick, 00:42:28.81\00:42:30.41 there's something wholesome there 00:42:30.44\00:42:32.08 before the families doing it, 00:42:32.11\00:42:33.17 it makes a contact point between them and us, 00:42:33.20\00:42:36.43 so that we can end up in their home 00:42:36.46\00:42:38.28 and visit with them. 00:42:38.31\00:42:39.46 And it's such a beautiful way of doing that 00:42:39.49\00:42:41.58 and preparing people for that experience. 00:42:41.61\00:42:44.19 Absolutely and you were talking, 00:42:44.22\00:42:45.31 there's time for everybody to work together. 00:42:45.34\00:42:47.60 My mind goes too all the ABC's hopefully 00:42:47.63\00:42:50.45 everyone of those who have 'em. 00:42:50.48\00:42:52.36 There are grocery stores outside Andrews University, 00:42:52.39\00:42:55.39 Southern, you know, they're selling magazines, 00:42:55.42\00:42:57.72 they sell all kinds of stuff. 00:42:57.75\00:42:59.18 We should be having these out available for people. 00:42:59.21\00:43:01.62 I mean, there is so-- we have so many avenues 00:43:01.65\00:43:04.83 and sometimes we only do certain things. 00:43:04.86\00:43:07.10 Well, if we're gonna promote whatever 00:43:07.13\00:43:09.64 and let's promote the gospel, you know, 00:43:09.67\00:43:11.47 let's make it part of it. 00:43:11.50\00:43:12.55 So I think we ought to, you know. 00:43:12.58\00:43:14.84 Say let's all work together everybody 00:43:14.87\00:43:16.94 because this is what it's all about. 00:43:16.97\00:43:18.48 Well, we're thinking big, 00:43:18.51\00:43:19.65 don't think we're thinking small. 00:43:19.68\00:43:20.78 Yeah. We're thinking big. 00:43:20.81\00:43:23.47 That's right. That's right. 00:43:23.50\00:43:24.97 Well, we'll help anyway we can here at 3ABN. 00:43:25.00\00:43:28.29 We believe in it, we think it's a great way 00:43:28.32\00:43:31.22 to get the gospel to the world, 00:43:31.25\00:43:33.12 and I love the interactive part of it 00:43:33.15\00:43:35.27 and with young people and, Dwight, 00:43:35.30\00:43:37.86 I've known him for, you know, forever it seems like, 00:43:37.89\00:43:40.57 but ever since I mean we met 00:43:40.60\00:43:42.34 when we were very young in ministry. 00:43:42.37\00:43:44.20 Young and young in ministry and you know, 00:43:44.23\00:43:46.94 he always thinks outside the box. 00:43:46.97\00:43:49.39 And I appreciate that about him. 00:43:49.42\00:43:50.72 If there's a way to do and get it done, 00:43:50.75\00:43:52.50 Dwight Hall would do it. 00:43:52.53\00:43:54.36 And so you know that if he's involved in it, 00:43:54.39\00:43:56.66 it's not going to just lay dormant, 00:43:56.69\00:43:58.39 nothing is going to happen. 00:43:58.42\00:43:59.51 So I respect that about you, Dwight, 00:43:59.54\00:44:01.39 and your commitment to the Lord, 00:44:01.42\00:44:02.58 your commitment to the message. 00:44:02.61\00:44:04.45 And that you don't compromise the message 00:44:04.48\00:44:07.04 in order to sell more books 'cause as you know 00:44:07.07\00:44:10.19 you sold millions and millions but you could move a lot more 00:44:10.22\00:44:13.45 if you were willing to compromise a little bit 00:44:13.48\00:44:16.03 but you don't do that. 00:44:16.06\00:44:17.20 At Remnant, so thank you for what you do. 00:44:17.23\00:44:19.37 Thank you. Yeah. 00:44:19.40\00:44:20.81 There is a way just to follow up on this 00:44:20.84\00:44:22.98 so you know a lot of people out there. 00:44:23.01\00:44:24.93 It's true not everybody 00:44:24.96\00:44:26.30 is called to be a literature evangelist 00:44:26.33\00:44:28.35 like I am but many people are. 00:44:28.38\00:44:31.13 They are involved in someway 00:44:31.16\00:44:32.64 but there's many people that want to help 00:44:32.67\00:44:34.43 the literature evangelist in their minister, 00:44:34.46\00:44:37.02 they believe in the literature ministry 00:44:37.05\00:44:38.61 and they want to support the literature ministry. 00:44:38.64\00:44:40.93 And as we see these-- these volumes all of-- 00:44:40.96\00:44:44.35 When something like this is initiated, 00:44:44.38\00:44:46.04 there's actually great expense it come 00:44:46.07\00:44:48.37 with placing all of these new books 00:44:48.40\00:44:50.21 out in new territory in doctor's offices. 00:44:50.24\00:44:52.64 And I can't help believe that there's some people out there 00:44:52.67\00:44:54.70 that would love to sponsor these books 00:44:54.73\00:44:56.18 into doctor's office. 00:44:56.21\00:44:57.42 And they want to be involved in the ministry 00:44:57.45\00:44:59.13 in someway of helping to put that literature out there. 00:44:59.16\00:45:01.84 These pillars alights in different places, 00:45:01.87\00:45:04.05 they would do that and then-- and then in return it blesses 00:45:04.08\00:45:06.48 the literature evangelist who do feel 00:45:06.51\00:45:07.98 that God has called him to be out there. 00:45:08.01\00:45:10.02 So it's a support back support of the ministry 00:45:10.05\00:45:12.70 in being able to do that. 00:45:12.73\00:45:15.40 Well, I was going to ask you well, Dwight, 00:45:15.43\00:45:18.05 how he decided to do literature evangelism? 00:45:18.08\00:45:22.32 Well, you know, 00:45:22.35\00:45:24.67 I never sold books door to door. 00:45:24.70\00:45:26.38 When I was in fifth and sixth grade, 00:45:26.41\00:45:28.51 they had magazine sales, I was in public school. 00:45:28.54\00:45:32.18 And I remember my parents were always too busy 00:45:32.21\00:45:34.46 always working just as support at that time, 00:45:34.49\00:45:37.22 we were quite poor. 00:45:37.25\00:45:38.88 So I went out of my little street bicycle 00:45:38.91\00:45:40.62 so that kind of ages me, and I went door to door 00:45:40.65\00:45:44.66 and knocking on door selling magazines. 00:45:44.69\00:45:46.39 So I had a little bit of experience 00:45:46.42\00:45:47.59 at least going door to door 00:45:47.62\00:45:48.65 but when I came back to the Lord, 00:45:48.68\00:45:51.39 somebody gave me a Great Controversy 00:45:51.42\00:45:53.94 and The Desire of Ages. 00:45:53.97\00:45:56.28 And I bought a Bible and when I read those 00:45:56.31\00:45:59.60 with my Bible, it just, it changed my life 00:45:59.63\00:46:02.77 and of course it's never been the same since 00:46:02.80\00:46:04.24 and that's why I'm here today. 00:46:04.27\00:46:05.81 And so I have a tremendous heart 00:46:05.84\00:46:07.49 for literature evangelist because it's the books 00:46:07.52\00:46:12.01 that changed my life. 00:46:12.04\00:46:13.07 I listened to sermons growing up 00:46:13.10\00:46:14.34 and I don't know how many 00:46:14.37\00:46:16.09 and when you grow up as an Adventists, 00:46:16.12\00:46:17.88 how many evangelist I just thought 00:46:17.91\00:46:19.29 they were great but it was the books 00:46:19.32\00:46:22.11 and of course I know it was Holy Spirit, 00:46:22.14\00:46:23.84 it was a right timing but I just have a burden 00:46:23.87\00:46:26.37 for the publishing work. 00:46:26.40\00:46:27.43 I just feel that we have an army 00:46:27.46\00:46:31.95 of people that are Seventh-day Adventists 00:46:31.98\00:46:33.83 and other Christians. 00:46:33.86\00:46:35.14 We have an army, but we need to supply 00:46:35.17\00:46:37.71 that army with guns, 00:46:37.74\00:46:39.27 I mean, if you know what I'm trying to say. 00:46:39.30\00:46:40.95 I mean you go to war and you're not gonna just 00:46:40.98\00:46:42.43 send a bunch of people in battle 00:46:42.46\00:46:43.49 without a weapon. 00:46:43.52\00:46:45.90 Ammunition. And ammunition. 00:46:45.93\00:46:47.66 Here you've got books that 00:46:47.69\00:46:49.48 you might not get anywhere else. 00:46:49.51\00:46:51.89 They talk about the Three Angles' Message, 00:46:51.92\00:46:53.32 the present truth 00:46:53.35\00:46:54.59 and you've got these boots on the ground 00:46:54.62\00:46:56.41 so to speak but it is the 3ABNs 00:46:56.44\00:46:58.87 and the Remnants or Amazing Facts 00:46:58.90\00:47:00.10 and other ministries they get the message out 00:47:00.13\00:47:02.72 but it takes the army of workers to go there 00:47:02.75\00:47:06.19 door to door or however they go 00:47:06.22\00:47:07.87 to get these books and so that's my passion, 00:47:07.90\00:47:10.53 has always been. 00:47:10.56\00:47:12.40 Do you have any idea how many millions of pieces 00:47:12.43\00:47:16.76 of literature and books that you've printed 00:47:16.79\00:47:21.72 and marketed over the last 30 years? 00:47:21.75\00:47:23.86 You know, probably if I-- 00:47:23.89\00:47:25.60 you know maybe if I did it sound like 00:47:25.63\00:47:27.34 I was bragging 'cause you know it wasn't me 00:47:27.37\00:47:29.10 but I mean if you just think of the Ten Commandments 00:47:29.13\00:47:31.12 Twice Removed, seven million in the last year 00:47:31.15\00:47:33.69 so we print over seven million of the full blown 00:47:33.72\00:47:35.50 Great Controversy and send out a million to New York 00:47:35.53\00:47:39.16 and you get donations and we just sent out 00:47:39.19\00:47:41.21 to San Francisco and there was two 00:47:41.24\00:47:44.87 national news medias that called me up 00:47:44.90\00:47:47.40 and ask why are you sending this, 00:47:47.43\00:47:49.14 I mean to people that don't want it. 00:47:49.17\00:47:50.83 And I was able to witness to them 00:47:50.86\00:47:52.82 and I don't know we've just-- 00:47:52.85\00:47:54.31 I don't know it could be 00:47:54.34\00:47:56.12 maybe close to a 100 million or something, 00:47:56.15\00:47:57.65 I don't know. It's been a lot, a lot. 00:47:57.68\00:48:01.29 A 100 million and you just said that so causally. 00:48:01.32\00:48:03.92 Yeah, well, I was thinking it probably 00:48:03.95\00:48:06.04 wasn't that you know something 00:48:06.07\00:48:07.65 that's there that's in people's homes. 00:48:07.68\00:48:10.13 You've all heard the stories of somebody 00:48:10.16\00:48:12.07 who picked up a book 20 years 00:48:12.10\00:48:14.45 after it'd been there or their folks die 00:48:14.48\00:48:17.27 and they get, you know, cleaned it out the house, 00:48:17.30\00:48:19.56 they put these books away and then they pull out 00:48:19.59\00:48:21.91 one of the books, The Great Controversy 00:48:21.94\00:48:23.66 or Steps to Christ or whatever 00:48:23.69\00:48:25.73 and then you know give their hearts to the Lord. 00:48:25.76\00:48:28.24 So it's there so what you put out, 00:48:28.27\00:48:30.23 let's say it's a 100 million books 00:48:30.26\00:48:32.43 and pieces of literature, 00:48:32.46\00:48:34.86 you will only know in eternity 00:48:34.89\00:48:37.22 how many souls, you with the books, 00:48:37.51\00:48:39.79 you know all the people that you've worked with, 00:48:39.82\00:48:42.10 have to be in hundreds of millions, 00:48:42.13\00:48:43.60 I know Steps to Christ, 00:48:43.63\00:48:44.70 there's millions and millions and millions of those 00:48:44.73\00:48:47.40 that have been given out, had been sold around the world. 00:48:47.43\00:48:50.67 So really only in eternity 00:48:50.70\00:48:53.13 will we have any idea of the literature work, 00:48:53.16\00:48:55.34 literature evangelism the amount of souls. 00:48:55.37\00:48:57.98 You don't always get the amount of attention 00:48:58.01\00:49:00.07 that the good preachers get, you know, 00:49:00.10\00:49:02.12 all the Marks and the Dougs and all of these C.D. Brooks 00:49:02.15\00:49:05.41 and all these folks are getting out there, 00:49:05.44\00:49:07.54 but in the long run it's all the same. 00:49:07.57\00:49:09.66 It's all part of the work. 00:49:09.69\00:49:10.75 It's all the finishing of the work. 00:49:10.78\00:49:13.31 We only have a couple of minutes here. 00:49:13.34\00:49:14.84 We're gonna go to break and well we have an address 00:49:14.87\00:49:18.75 that maybe a folk want to contact you, 00:49:18.78\00:49:21.56 I like to be able to put up an address in a bit 00:49:21.59\00:49:24.00 and how to do that but what we want to do, 00:49:24.03\00:49:26.76 I think we want to go to break and then we're gonna come back 00:49:26.79\00:49:28.85 and have-- we're gonna go to a new break 00:49:28.88\00:49:31.04 and then we're gonna come back 00:49:31.07\00:49:32.33 and have just a few minutes to close. 00:49:32.36\00:49:35.01
