I want to spend my life
00:00:01.50\00:00:07.43
Mending broken people
00:00:07.46\00:00:12.26
I want to spend my life
00:00:12.29\00:00:18.57
Removing pain
00:00:18.60\00:00:23.69
Lord, let my words
00:00:23.72\00:00:29.80
Heal a heart that hurts
00:00:29.83\00:00:34.33
I want to spend my life
00:00:34.36\00:00:40.18
Mending broken people
00:00:40.21\00:00:45.66
I want to spend my life
00:00:45.69\00:00:51.11
Mending broken people
00:00:51.14\00:00:55.12
Hello, friends, and
welcome to 3ABN Today.
00:01:07.21\00:01:09.68
My name is John Lomacang.
00:01:09.71\00:01:11.89
Thank you to our 3ABN audience
00:01:11.92\00:01:13.77
and family
that's tuning in again.
00:01:13.80\00:01:15.92
As you know, we always have
00:01:15.95\00:01:17.16
programming to
exalt the cause of God
00:01:17.19\00:01:20.17
and also to bring
the Lord closer to you
00:01:20.20\00:01:24.47
so that He can reveal to you
00:01:24.50\00:01:25.74
what His call on your
life is really all about.
00:01:25.77\00:01:28.71
Thank you for those who are
tuning in for the first time.
00:01:28.74\00:01:30.59
If you've never been
on this station before,
00:01:30.62\00:01:32.93
lock that station in
and remember the channel,
00:01:32.96\00:01:35.76
because I know
today you will discover
00:01:35.79\00:01:38.11
that the message in
this program today is one
00:01:38.14\00:01:40.85
that the Lord has
decided to bring to you
00:01:40.88\00:01:43.38
not coincidentally
but intentionally.
00:01:43.41\00:01:47.01
And I have two guests
that I'm excited about,
00:01:47.04\00:01:49.03
I'm gonna
introduce you to in a moment,
00:01:49.06\00:01:51.29
but before we go to
that part of the program,
00:01:51.32\00:01:53.48
thank you for all that
you do for this network,
00:01:53.51\00:01:55.25
your prayers and
your volunteer work.
00:01:55.28\00:01:57.80
If you've come here before
00:01:57.83\00:01:59.13
and truly your financial support
00:01:59.16\00:02:01.49
that keeps us going and growing
00:02:01.52\00:02:03.51
as we prepare for
the coming of our Lord.
00:02:03.54\00:02:06.07
Now as you know
traditionally at our station,
00:02:06.10\00:02:07.99
we always have
music and the young lady
00:02:08.02\00:02:10.28
that's going to be
singing for us today
00:02:10.31\00:02:11.67
is one that I know very well.
00:02:11.70\00:02:13.44
You will be blessed
as Vonda Beerman sings
00:02:13.47\00:02:16.01
"Embrace The Cross."
00:02:16.04\00:02:17.86
I am crucified with Christ
00:02:33.98\00:02:37.69
Therefore I no longer live
00:02:37.72\00:02:42.40
Jesus Christ now lives in me
00:02:42.43\00:02:49.20
I am crucified with Christ
00:02:49.23\00:02:52.93
Therefore I no longer live
00:02:52.96\00:02:57.62
It's Jesus
Christ who lives in me
00:02:57.65\00:03:04.43
Embrace the cross
00:03:16.55\00:03:20.66
Where Jesus suffered
00:03:20.69\00:03:24.36
Though it will cost you
00:03:24.39\00:03:27.76
All you claim as yours
00:03:27.79\00:03:32.47
Your sacrifice will seem small
00:03:32.50\00:03:37.06
Beside the treasures
00:03:37.09\00:03:39.37
Eternity can't measure
00:03:39.40\00:03:43.27
What Jesus has in store
00:03:43.30\00:03:47.75
Embrace the love
00:03:52.95\00:03:57.29
The cross requires
00:03:57.32\00:04:00.76
Cling to the one
00:04:00.79\00:04:03.98
Whose heart knew every pain
00:04:04.01\00:04:08.92
Receive from Jesus
00:04:08.95\00:04:12.21
Fountains of compassion
00:04:12.24\00:04:15.75
For only He can fashion
00:04:15.78\00:04:19.71
Your heart to move as His
00:04:19.74\00:04:25.99
Oh, wondrous cross,
our desires rest in you
00:04:26.02\00:04:33.33
Oh, Lord Jesus make us
00:04:33.36\00:04:37.76
Bolder
00:04:37.79\00:04:41.71
To face with courage
the shame and disgrace
00:04:41.74\00:04:49.16
Embrace the life
00:05:01.94\00:05:05.88
That comes from dying
00:05:05.91\00:05:09.39
Trace through the steps
00:05:09.42\00:05:12.67
The Savior walked for you
00:05:12.70\00:05:17.83
An empty tomb
00:05:17.86\00:05:20.49
Concludes Golgotha's sorrow
00:05:20.52\00:05:24.64
Endure then till tomorrow
00:05:24.67\00:05:28.43
Your cross of suffering
00:05:28.46\00:05:32.95
Embrace the cross
00:05:39.55\00:05:43.07
Embrace the cross
00:05:43.10\00:05:47.12
The cross of Jesus
00:05:47.15\00:05:54.12
Thank you so much for
that wonderful song, Vonda.
00:06:20.32\00:06:22.65
We really do appreciate
your ministry of music
00:06:22.68\00:06:25.31
and the message fits
wonderfully our program.
00:06:25.34\00:06:28.24
What does it mean to
embrace the cross today.
00:06:28.27\00:06:31.24
You know, they're
those that are called
00:06:31.27\00:06:32.57
to bear the cross in
various avenues of life,
00:06:32.60\00:06:36.02
and I think our
guests today understands
00:06:36.05\00:06:39.22
what that means
when the Lord says
00:06:39.25\00:06:41.83
carry the cross,
00:06:41.86\00:06:43.72
this cross of self
denial, this cross of sacrifice.
00:06:43.75\00:06:46.62
And sometimes the cross
of risk and on that note,
00:06:46.65\00:06:50.18
I'd like to introduce
you to our guests today.
00:06:50.21\00:06:52.58
First we have with me,
well, let me just go ahead
00:06:52.61\00:06:55.83
and allow you to
do the introduction.
00:06:55.86\00:06:58.08
Tell our audience who you are,
00:06:58.11\00:07:00.38
where you are from
and what you do right now?
00:07:00.41\00:07:03.09
My name is Anita Kanaiya
and I'm from Bangalore, India.
00:07:03.12\00:07:07.69
And I work in India
with a project called
00:07:07.72\00:07:11.29
Operation Child Rescue,
00:07:11.32\00:07:13.39
where we rescue
women and children
00:07:13.42\00:07:15.08
who are being trafficked
for different purposes,
00:07:15.11\00:07:18.86
mostly labor and
sexual exploitation.
00:07:18.89\00:07:21.49
Okay, well, good to
have you here today.
00:07:21.52\00:07:23.42
And gentleman to your right
that I am very familiar with
00:07:23.45\00:07:25.92
but I'll go ahead and
allow him to introduce himself
00:07:25.95\00:07:28.38
just so that if
someone's watching
00:07:28.41\00:07:30.26
that have never seen you before,
00:07:30.29\00:07:31.61
you could go ahead and give them
00:07:31.64\00:07:33.39
that good down
under introduction.
00:07:33.42\00:07:35.67
Thanks, John. My
name is Jim Rennie.
00:07:35.70\00:07:37.88
And I'm the CEO of Asian Aid USA
00:07:37.91\00:07:41.47
and our ministry is based
in Collegedale, Tennessee.
00:07:41.50\00:07:45.16
And it's good to
have you here, Jim.
00:07:45.19\00:07:46.56
You know, you've not
only been here before on 3ABN,
00:07:46.59\00:07:49.10
you're part of our
family, our 3ABN family
00:07:49.13\00:07:52.73
but you and I have
had the opportunity
00:07:52.76\00:07:54.48
along with my wife to
travel with you to India...
00:07:54.51\00:07:57.39
And to be a part of some
of the Asian Aid projects.
00:07:57.42\00:07:59.49
So good to have you
here again. Thank you.
00:07:59.52\00:08:01.40
Now just before I
come back to Anita Kanaiya
00:08:01.43\00:08:03.46
who is part of the
Operation Child Rescue in India
00:08:03.49\00:08:07.60
and partnering with Asian Aid.
00:08:07.63\00:08:09.16
Give us some updates?
00:08:09.19\00:08:11.06
Tell us what's
happening with Asian Aid
00:08:11.09\00:08:12.45
and where you are today?
00:08:12.48\00:08:14.08
Well, John, as you know
00:08:14.11\00:08:15.46
our main program
is child sponsorship.
00:08:15.49\00:08:19.50
Where we take
children based on need
00:08:19.53\00:08:21.82
and place them in
Adventist schools in India,
00:08:21.85\00:08:24.84
Nepal and Bangladesh
00:08:24.87\00:08:26.68
and we just have just
under 3,000 children now.
00:08:26.71\00:08:30.23
That program is
continuing to grow
00:08:30.26\00:08:32.92
and we always have
the need for sponsors.
00:08:32.95\00:08:35.76
And we're just
preparing to enter Myanmar
00:08:35.79\00:08:38.86
which is the old Burma.
00:08:38.89\00:08:40.87
And then also in
India we're doing--
00:08:40.90\00:08:43.59
we're partnering with the church
00:08:43.62\00:08:45.26
in the development of
schools to improve building
00:08:45.29\00:08:49.78
and to improve the
quality of education
00:08:49.81\00:08:52.84
in the Adventist schools.
00:08:52.87\00:08:55.26
We've just completed
some projects recently.
00:08:55.29\00:08:58.29
I don't know if you've
visited Vizianagaram in India
00:08:58.32\00:09:01.40
where we've built a
brand new boys' dormitory
00:09:01.43\00:09:03.91
and the boys were sleeping
on the floor in the church.
00:09:03.94\00:09:06.23
I saw that.
00:09:06.26\00:09:07.29
And it was just so exciting
that last week they moved in
00:09:07.32\00:09:10.47
and now they're sleeping
on beds in a new dormitory.
00:09:10.50\00:09:14.08
And we are upgrading some
of the key schools in India.
00:09:14.11\00:09:17.69
And the other program
that we're now building on
00:09:17.72\00:09:20.79
is what we're here to talk today
00:09:20.82\00:09:22.73
is the Asian Aid
Operation Child Rescue
00:09:22.76\00:09:25.75
which is very
unique as a ministry
00:09:25.78\00:09:28.89
that we are really
on the streets in India
00:09:28.92\00:09:32.24
especially
rescuing boys and girls,
00:09:32.27\00:09:35.92
mainly girls,
from the slavery trade.
00:09:35.95\00:09:39.72
And we just feel that because
we're involved with children
00:09:39.75\00:09:43.07
that we should be
involved in this area.
00:09:43.10\00:09:45.97
And so it's
something we want to grow.
00:09:46.00\00:09:48.28
Well, you know, as
you spoke about the school
00:09:48.31\00:09:50.48
where the boys'
dorm is now opened,
00:09:50.51\00:09:52.14
I remember very well
when we were there in India,
00:09:52.17\00:09:55.08
I did an interview laying on
my back on one of the boys' mats
00:09:55.11\00:09:58.99
as we talked about the
fact that here in America
00:09:59.02\00:10:01.85
and many parts of the world,
they have comfortable beds
00:10:01.88\00:10:04.63
that children go
to sleep at night
00:10:04.66\00:10:06.33
but these young boys laid
out their mat on this hard floor
00:10:06.36\00:10:09.85
and as I was testing it
out, I'm so glad to hear
00:10:09.88\00:10:12.24
'cause I saw the
program where the boys' dorm
00:10:12.27\00:10:15.96
is being opened up and
now they have facilities.
00:10:15.99\00:10:18.79
You know what I
like about Asian Aid is
00:10:18.82\00:10:20.24
it's not just a ministry that
has good programs on television
00:10:20.27\00:10:23.75
but it's a ministry that
is actually getting results.
00:10:23.78\00:10:27.34
In some difficult areas in
Bangalore and Vizianagaram,
00:10:27.37\00:10:32.31
I've learned how
to say that correctly,
00:10:32.34\00:10:34.15
and other parts of Asia
00:10:34.18\00:10:37.38
where poverty and
some of the challenges
00:10:37.41\00:10:40.03
that are not native to America
00:10:40.06\00:10:42.40
are very, very real
in the culture of India.
00:10:42.43\00:10:45.02
And so I'm
interested in this program today
00:10:45.05\00:10:46.56
because I know that
you cannot be involved
00:10:46.59\00:10:48.53
in children and
their development
00:10:48.56\00:10:50.69
without getting into this avenue
00:10:50.72\00:10:52.28
that's very real.
00:10:52.31\00:10:53.85
You know, we hear
about it in America
00:10:53.88\00:10:55.81
but it's something
that's happening on the ground
00:10:55.84\00:10:57.54
there in India and
surely other parts of the world.
00:10:57.57\00:11:00.47
But on that note let me
go ahead and-- first of all,
00:11:00.50\00:11:03.28
thank you for coming today.
00:11:03.31\00:11:04.71
Can I call you
Anita? Yes, please.
00:11:04.74\00:11:06.47
So good to have you
here, we had a wonderful time
00:11:06.50\00:11:08.69
talking before
the program began.
00:11:08.72\00:11:10.74
I am so interested.
00:11:10.77\00:11:11.96
Before we dive into the program,
00:11:11.99\00:11:13.57
just share with us your
connection with Asian Aid?
00:11:13.60\00:11:16.54
How that has
blessed the ministry
00:11:16.57\00:11:18.55
that you are involved in?
00:11:18.58\00:11:20.56
I have been connected with
Asian Aid now for a few years
00:11:20.59\00:11:24.14
and we met because
of a common interest
00:11:24.17\00:11:28.08
to do something for
children in Bangalore.
00:11:28.11\00:11:31.22
And I was working
with an organization
00:11:31.25\00:11:34.67
that was working
with rescuing children,
00:11:34.70\00:11:37.24
women and children
from off the street
00:11:37.27\00:11:40.16
and putting them into programs
00:11:40.19\00:11:42.66
where they would
be taken care of,
00:11:42.69\00:11:44.55
and that's how I
met Jim from Asian Aid.
00:11:44.58\00:11:47.46
Great guy to
being associated with.
00:11:47.49\00:11:49.42
Man of passion and vision
00:11:49.45\00:11:51.16
which is really
blessed the program
00:11:51.19\00:11:52.90
and the growth of Asian
Aid since his getting onboard,
00:11:52.93\00:11:55.75
I'm excited about that.
00:11:55.78\00:11:57.01
And you are a
mother and a wife also?
00:11:57.04\00:11:59.47
You have two daughters?
Two daughters 13 and 8.
00:11:59.50\00:12:02.23
Okay. Yeah.
00:12:02.26\00:12:03.34
And which also
makes this program
00:12:03.37\00:12:05.57
and the project you're involved
00:12:05.60\00:12:07.19
and it endears you more to that
00:12:07.22\00:12:08.62
because if you
think of what if--
00:12:08.65\00:12:10.69
what would have
happened to my daughters
00:12:10.72\00:12:11.79
if this had happened to her
00:12:11.82\00:12:13.49
and I know that
that's part of the passion
00:12:13.52\00:12:15.36
and your drive to see
that these are the children
00:12:15.39\00:12:18.83
that have no voice
can find the confidence
00:12:18.86\00:12:22.79
that somebody is on the ground
working for their betterment.
00:12:22.82\00:12:25.50
Take us now,
Operation Child Rescue,
00:12:25.53\00:12:28.33
tell us about that?
00:12:28.36\00:12:30.04
How that got started and your
particular involvement in that?
00:12:30.07\00:12:34.38
Well, I think
about nine years ago,
00:12:34.41\00:12:36.79
I was called to, I
had a phone call one night
00:12:36.82\00:12:40.39
and it was
basically a friend asking
00:12:40.42\00:12:42.85
if I would go
and rescue two girls,
00:12:42.88\00:12:45.19
who had managed to
escape from the traffickers
00:12:45.22\00:12:47.73
and were in a bus stand
hiding and there was no one else
00:12:47.76\00:12:52.89
he could contact
and he called and said,
00:12:52.92\00:12:55.55
could you please
just go and get them
00:12:55.58\00:12:57.66
and bring them
over to your house
00:12:57.69\00:12:59.17
and we'll pick
them up in the morning.
00:12:59.20\00:13:02.27
It was 10 o'clock at night
00:13:02.30\00:13:03.78
and my older one
was only one and a half
00:13:03.81\00:13:08.14
and I was a bit
disturbed about it,
00:13:08.17\00:13:12.06
but I knew that I was
gonna go and get those girls
00:13:12.09\00:13:15.23
'cause the
picture of those girls
00:13:15.26\00:13:17.23
just hiding there
without anyone there for them.
00:13:17.26\00:13:21.88
I ended up going
with a colleague from work
00:13:21.91\00:13:24.23
and we got the two girls
00:13:24.26\00:13:25.78
and they were
only aged 12 and 13,
00:13:25.81\00:13:28.68
and had been
trafficked three times before,
00:13:28.71\00:13:32.08
and had managed to escape
00:13:32.11\00:13:33.39
and they had this one
number of a lawyer in Bombay
00:13:33.42\00:13:36.61
and that's where
I got the call from.
00:13:36.64\00:13:38.63
So when I brought them
home, I heard their stories
00:13:38.66\00:13:41.91
and at that
point I didn't realize
00:13:41.94\00:13:43.61
that trafficking
was so real in India,
00:13:43.64\00:13:45.74
this was about
eight to nine years ago
00:13:45.77\00:13:48.54
and so real in my
city of Bangalore.
00:13:48.57\00:13:53.65
The social worker
didn't turn up in the morning.
00:13:53.68\00:13:56.45
She came at
least three days after.
00:13:56.48\00:13:58.75
And so for three
days I had them at home.
00:13:58.78\00:14:01.35
I heard their stories.
00:14:01.38\00:14:02.78
I saw the reality of what
trafficking had done to them,
00:14:02.81\00:14:06.93
their bodies, the scars on them
and I was not the same anymore,
00:14:06.96\00:14:12.22
I mean, I decided then that
00:14:12.25\00:14:14.58
I really want to
look into this issue.
00:14:14.61\00:14:17.94
How do we address this?
00:14:17.97\00:14:19.00
How do we find
out more about it?
00:14:19.03\00:14:21.63
And how do we rescue these girls
00:14:21.66\00:14:24.38
who are in such a
desperate need of rescue?
00:14:24.41\00:14:26.86
So now this passion, this
fire getting lighted in you,
00:14:26.89\00:14:29.57
and I don't think as I think
of what you just said to me,
00:14:29.60\00:14:32.45
I think the Lord
allowed these girls to be
00:14:32.48\00:14:34.03
in your home for the days
00:14:34.06\00:14:35.27
that they were
there so that this could--
00:14:35.30\00:14:39.06
it's like putting
a melting ice cream
00:14:39.09\00:14:41.17
on a very warm pavement.
00:14:41.20\00:14:43.20
You know, it sinks in
if you grab it right away,
00:14:43.23\00:14:45.61
it hardly penetrates.
00:14:45.64\00:14:47.98
This experience allowed
that to sink into your psyche
00:14:48.01\00:14:50.99
and to really grab a hold of you
00:14:51.02\00:14:52.85
and bury a passion
within you to now say
00:14:52.88\00:14:56.03
these could be my daughters.
00:14:56.06\00:14:57.86
If I do
nothing, if I stand back,
00:14:57.89\00:14:59.96
I was-- yesterday driving
home actually on the highway.
00:14:59.99\00:15:04.52
And this is all that is
needed for evil to prevail
00:15:04.55\00:15:07.91
is that those who
do good do nothing.
00:15:07.94\00:15:11.23
And so the Lord just
lit that fire in you,
00:15:11.26\00:15:13.58
now how did you
take it to the next level
00:15:13.61\00:15:15.04
because you go
from a concerned mother
00:15:15.07\00:15:17.33
and I'm interested how
and you don't have to express
00:15:17.36\00:15:20.76
or reveal the
details but to get that call
00:15:20.79\00:15:24.75
was something that
you did not anticipate
00:15:24.78\00:15:27.34
but God saw that
he was reaching out
00:15:27.37\00:15:28.91
to you to make a difference.
00:15:28.94\00:15:30.00
What did you do
next to make this...?
00:15:30.03\00:15:32.26
Well, one of the first things
00:15:32.29\00:15:34.06
we did was to
research the issue.
00:15:34.09\00:15:35.95
To see what was it
some, was it an issue
00:15:35.98\00:15:40.85
that was very present
in our city of Bangalore
00:15:40.88\00:15:44.70
and during the research
we put together a conference
00:15:44.73\00:15:48.78
and called just about
anybody who was doing anything
00:15:48.81\00:15:51.65
in the area of
human trafficking,
00:15:51.68\00:15:53.99
child protection,
child abuse issues
00:15:54.02\00:15:58.24
and one of the
things that came up
00:15:58.27\00:16:01.14
from that conference was
that there were lots of children
00:16:01.17\00:16:05.21
who were going missing,
00:16:05.24\00:16:06.66
and the police
didn't have a database,
00:16:06.69\00:16:08.87
a computerized database,
00:16:08.90\00:16:10.33
so it was just a manual
form that was filled out
00:16:10.36\00:16:13.95
and somehow it had to
reach a central location
00:16:13.98\00:16:18.06
and then from there, the
message had to be conveyed
00:16:18.09\00:16:21.56
to the policemen on
beat to find these children.
00:16:21.59\00:16:24.72
Almost an archaic
way of communicating.
00:16:24.75\00:16:27.60
So I think one
of the first things
00:16:27.63\00:16:28.97
we did was to start
looking at the connection
00:16:29.00\00:16:31.23
between children who go
missing and trafficking.
00:16:31.26\00:16:35.15
And what we've found was,
00:16:35.18\00:16:38.17
for me, I think astonishing
because in the first year
00:16:38.20\00:16:41.35
that we helped set up
a missing person's bureau
00:16:41.38\00:16:43.62
with the police
department in Bangalore,
00:16:43.65\00:16:46.58
we realized that
while the police were happy
00:16:46.61\00:16:50.10
about having a system
to trace missing people,
00:16:50.13\00:16:53.47
they weren't
really bothered about
00:16:53.50\00:16:54.97
where these children were going,
00:16:55.00\00:16:57.45
when they had gone missing.
00:16:57.48\00:16:58.59
And when we
started analyzing the data
00:16:58.62\00:17:01.11
to look at what age
groups are these children?
00:17:01.14\00:17:03.82
Which backgrounds
did they come from?
00:17:03.85\00:17:06.52
Which areas were
they going missing from?
00:17:06.55\00:17:08.83
We realized that
it was a very planned,
00:17:08.86\00:17:12.34
well thought out
thing that was happening.
00:17:12.37\00:17:16.22
And we realized that
there were more girls
00:17:16.25\00:17:18.54
going missing than boys
00:17:18.57\00:17:20.18
and the age groups
were as low as 12 years.
00:17:20.21\00:17:24.13
12-13 years, girls
were going missing.
00:17:24.16\00:17:27.07
And so it almost appeared
to be strategic to some degree
00:17:27.10\00:17:31.69
that this was not
a coincidental event.
00:17:31.72\00:17:35.10
And maybe-- the archaic
systems served its purpose well
00:17:35.13\00:17:38.68
to keep this as a
non addressed issue.
00:17:38.71\00:17:41.21
But by automating
it that is adding a--
00:17:41.24\00:17:43.58
putting a database together
00:17:43.61\00:17:44.76
so that the information can
be proliferated a lot quicker,
00:17:44.79\00:17:48.00
so that the moment
these children are missing,
00:17:48.03\00:17:49.92
the reporting can go on quicker.
00:17:49.95\00:17:51.56
It'll get to all the
stations that it needs to--
00:17:51.59\00:17:54.47
what kind of
support did you find
00:17:54.50\00:17:56.37
because I know--
I've been to Bangalore,
00:17:56.40\00:17:58.89
it's a thriving
city right by the coast.
00:17:58.92\00:18:01.67
And to just wake up
in the morning and say,
00:18:01.70\00:18:03.72
okay, I want to go ahead
00:18:03.75\00:18:04.83
and impact the city of Bangalore
00:18:04.86\00:18:06.68
in this sense
where the people are--
00:18:06.71\00:18:09.42
and I'm gonna use this
word oozing out of this city,
00:18:09.45\00:18:12.69
there are just motorbikes
everywhere, cars everywhere.
00:18:12.72\00:18:16.14
How do you find
the children amidst
00:18:16.17\00:18:19.70
that plethora of
human bodies that are there,
00:18:19.73\00:18:22.93
I mean how do you-- how
did you get to the next level?
00:18:22.96\00:18:26.80
Okay, now we were
setting up the database,
00:18:26.83\00:18:30.23
then what did you do next?
00:18:30.26\00:18:31.65
Well, like I said, the
police wanted to close cases
00:18:31.68\00:18:35.73
of children who'd gone missing.
00:18:35.76\00:18:37.39
We were interested to see
why they were going missing?
00:18:37.42\00:18:40.74
And what were they getting into?
00:18:40.77\00:18:43.47
And that was the
tough job like you said,
00:18:43.50\00:18:45.05
you know how do you find?
00:18:45.08\00:18:46.53
First of all how
do you find the child,
00:18:46.56\00:18:48.79
you know in the city
of 6 million and more?
00:18:48.82\00:18:51.27
And once you find
ways to find the child,
00:18:51.30\00:18:56.70
when we realize
what they've gotten into.
00:18:56.73\00:18:58.58
Many of these children had
been trafficked out of the city.
00:18:58.61\00:19:02.38
And usually that's what
happens with trafficking
00:19:02.41\00:19:04.53
is for it to be call trafficking
00:19:04.56\00:19:06.98
the person has to
be geographically moved
00:19:07.01\00:19:09.59
from one location to another.
00:19:09.62\00:19:11.69
And many of these children
came from very, very poor homes.
00:19:11.72\00:19:16.57
So when we were
analyzing the data,
00:19:16.60\00:19:18.16
we realized many
of these children
00:19:18.19\00:19:19.64
were from slum communities.
00:19:19.67\00:19:21.90
Were children of migrants
00:19:21.93\00:19:23.20
who had just moved into
the city looking for jobs,
00:19:23.23\00:19:26.43
and basically people who
could not even register a case
00:19:26.46\00:19:30.71
because they were
illiterate or too poor to,
00:19:30.74\00:19:33.68
you know, know where to go.
00:19:33.71\00:19:35.48
And for the police
to do anything about it,
00:19:35.51\00:19:38.27
so we realize then that we had
00:19:38.30\00:19:39.67
to become voice
for the voiceless.
00:19:39.70\00:19:41.83
Because many of these
people never registered cases
00:19:41.86\00:19:45.12
and because the police
wouldn't take it seriously,
00:19:45.15\00:19:48.28
they had too many
children, they were always told
00:19:48.31\00:19:50.50
they weren't looking after
their children well enough.
00:19:50.53\00:19:53.34
And by the time
anything happened
00:19:53.37\00:19:55.72
it was a good you
know 10 days or 15 days
00:19:55.75\00:19:58.31
after the child is gone missing,
00:19:58.34\00:19:59.86
making it almost impossible
for us to trace the child.
00:19:59.89\00:20:03.27
Because in India in 10
days children could be anywhere,
00:20:03.30\00:20:06.28
and it's such a large country.
00:20:06.31\00:20:08.41
They could be in Delhi,
00:20:08.44\00:20:09.48
they could be in Andhra Pradesh.
00:20:09.51\00:20:11.32
They may I think
could be anywhere.
00:20:11.35\00:20:13.32
And it's not like America
00:20:13.35\00:20:15.36
where you have
these traceable devices
00:20:15.39\00:20:18.24
or tracking-- when 12 years old
00:20:18.27\00:20:21.17
I mean you're talking about
a child that that point at best
00:20:21.20\00:20:24.76
it's terrified about what's
happening in his or her life.
00:20:24.79\00:20:28.30
And they are at the mercy
of whoever the kidnappers are
00:20:28.33\00:20:31.21
or whoever the traffickers are.
00:20:31.24\00:20:33.64
We think about
this issue worldwide
00:20:33.67\00:20:35.32
and I know for those of
you listening to the program,
00:20:35.35\00:20:38.06
it's a very serious matter
for you to able to take on
00:20:38.09\00:20:41.76
and now if I'm
following carefully,
00:20:41.79\00:20:44.05
you have been working in
this field for 8-9 years.
00:20:44.08\00:20:47.25
Tell us what kind of
progress you've made?
00:20:47.28\00:20:50.93
And maybe even we could
go into some of the stories
00:20:50.96\00:20:53.37
to be very vague rather than
00:20:53.40\00:20:55.14
specific about
some of the names,
00:20:55.17\00:20:57.06
about how this is now
beginning to be reversed.
00:20:57.09\00:21:00.28
But just tell us,
00:21:00.31\00:21:01.47
what has happened
over the last 7-8 years?
00:21:01.50\00:21:03.81
Well, yeah, I think 8 years ago
00:21:03.84\00:21:06.64
we started with this
problem of missing children.
00:21:06.67\00:21:08.43
Then we
actually got into rescues
00:21:08.46\00:21:10.46
because we realize that
00:21:10.49\00:21:12.10
this wasn't a major
issue for the police.
00:21:12.13\00:21:14.98
They had lots of other things
00:21:15.01\00:21:16.14
that they were
supposed to be doing like,
00:21:16.17\00:21:19.51
terrorism was a big issue.
00:21:19.54\00:21:20.87
Right.
00:21:20.90\00:21:21.94
Law and order and crime,
local crime was an issue.
00:21:21.97\00:21:25.25
And trafficking
wasn't important for them,
00:21:25.28\00:21:27.52
you know, some child
going missing somewhere
00:21:27.55\00:21:29.85
especially because they
are from the poor background
00:21:29.88\00:21:32.61
didn't matter enough.
00:21:32.64\00:21:33.99
So we realized that if
that child had to be found,
00:21:34.02\00:21:37.52
we had to start
working as investigative,
00:21:37.55\00:21:41.40
you know,
operators with the police,
00:21:41.43\00:21:43.69
so one of the things
that we do till today
00:21:43.72\00:21:45.84
is we have our own
investigation team.
00:21:45.87\00:21:48.49
And the
investigation team doubles up
00:21:48.52\00:21:50.97
as customer's
clients pimps all of that
00:21:51.00\00:21:55.49
just to be able to
gain information about
00:21:55.52\00:21:59.10
where they take the children.
00:21:59.13\00:22:01.29
Where are they bringing the
children from or women from?
00:22:01.32\00:22:04.37
Where do they hide
them? Where are the brothels?
00:22:04.40\00:22:06.61
How do we get into a brothel?
00:22:06.64\00:22:08.66
And once we have
all of that information
00:22:08.69\00:22:10.66
and we actually
send in a decoy customer
00:22:10.69\00:22:13.56
inside higher
the girl pay money,
00:22:13.59\00:22:16.47
higher the girl
take her into a room.
00:22:16.50\00:22:19.02
Talk to her and find
out what the story is,
00:22:19.05\00:22:22.90
it's impossible for
us to convince the police
00:22:22.93\00:22:25.24
that they need to
rescue this person.
00:22:25.27\00:22:27.38
That is so-- I mean
that is such an operation,
00:22:27.41\00:22:33.27
you just don't get up
in the morning and say,
00:22:33.30\00:22:35.59
well, let's
find the connections,
00:22:35.62\00:22:37.45
let's find the
pimps, the brothels.
00:22:37.48\00:22:41.03
It's a whole
underground dark network.
00:22:41.06\00:22:45.19
And so when you said
you put a network together,
00:22:45.22\00:22:49.42
evidently people
came on board with you.
00:22:49.45\00:22:51.57
Tell us about that?
00:22:51.60\00:22:52.65
How were you able to
muster up the support for that,
00:22:52.68\00:22:55.18
because you have to
convince other people?
00:22:55.21\00:22:57.18
We are in a city where
this is seen as a crime
00:22:57.21\00:23:00.67
probably not even
seen as a viable crime.
00:23:00.70\00:23:03.17
If you put terrorism
and a missing child together
00:23:03.20\00:23:06.22
in a city of six million people
00:23:06.25\00:23:07.57
where poverty is
not an uncommon thing,
00:23:07.60\00:23:09.89
they'll say what's the big deal,
00:23:09.92\00:23:11.26
he's just a child,
00:23:11.29\00:23:12.45
let's stop terrorism in our city
00:23:12.48\00:23:15.08
and so it gets on the backbone
00:23:15.11\00:23:17.13
but how did you
get a network together?
00:23:17.16\00:23:18.78
Because obviously
other people came onboard.
00:23:18.81\00:23:21.28
Yeah, I think the first year
00:23:21.31\00:23:23.09
that we set up this
missing children's bureau
00:23:23.12\00:23:24.96
and we analyzed the data,
00:23:24.99\00:23:26.65
we realized that 1000
girls had gone missing
00:23:26.68\00:23:29.22
from the city of
Bangalore in 6 months
00:23:29.25\00:23:32.11
and we shared that data.
00:23:32.14\00:23:34.27
Most often the police would say,
00:23:34.30\00:23:36.14
you know these are young girls
00:23:36.17\00:23:37.34
who have fallen in love or
who have run away from home
00:23:37.37\00:23:40.24
because they were
beaten all, abused or scolded.
00:23:40.27\00:23:44.35
But then when we
looked at the ages
00:23:44.38\00:23:46.60
that the
children had gone missing
00:23:46.63\00:23:47.76
they were below 12 years.
00:23:47.79\00:23:49.26
And you know a
girl at 12 in India
00:23:49.29\00:23:52.59
is not falling in
love and running away.
00:23:52.62\00:23:55.91
And so we then
got that information
00:23:55.94\00:23:57.54
across to other
agencies or organizations
00:23:57.57\00:23:59.82
that are working
with child protection
00:23:59.85\00:24:01.82
and children's issues.
00:24:01.85\00:24:03.50
And we managed to convince them
00:24:03.53\00:24:06.08
that we have a very
real issue in out city,
00:24:06.11\00:24:08.76
and that we need to
do something about it
00:24:08.79\00:24:11.62
and so our first network
was formed to try and see
00:24:11.65\00:24:15.15
how we could share
any kind of expertise
00:24:15.18\00:24:17.24
that we had to
trace missing children.
00:24:17.27\00:24:21.53
As you know
investigators don't get
00:24:21.56\00:24:23.48
turned out of any college,
00:24:23.51\00:24:24.88
you know you
don't have an education
00:24:24.91\00:24:26.57
that leads to you
becoming an investigator
00:24:26.60\00:24:29.22
at least not in India.
00:24:29.25\00:24:30.29
I don't know how it is here,
00:24:30.32\00:24:32.19
so we had to build up
people who had a heart
00:24:32.22\00:24:35.98
to go out and look
for these children.
00:24:36.01\00:24:38.01
But we had to build expertise
00:24:38.04\00:24:39.70
in terms of
investigations skills,
00:24:39.73\00:24:42.63
the police were cooperative.
00:24:42.66\00:24:44.23
We had some
really top police people
00:24:44.26\00:24:47.13
and they were very cooperative
00:24:47.16\00:24:48.62
in helping to
train the initial team.
00:24:48.65\00:24:52.65
Today I think our investigators
are on par with the police
00:24:52.68\00:24:55.53
in terms of their
investigative skills
00:24:55.56\00:24:57.75
and what they're
able to accomplish.
00:24:57.78\00:25:00.06
The day before I
could actually come here,
00:25:00.09\00:25:04.41
we had a rescue operation
00:25:04.44\00:25:06.32
and we had to get into a brothel
00:25:06.35\00:25:08.20
which was locked from outside,
00:25:08.23\00:25:10.18
but the girls were inside
and we had the police with us
00:25:10.21\00:25:12.92
and everybody was
wondering what to do?
00:25:12.95\00:25:14.31
And our investigators
00:25:14.34\00:25:15.37
just scaled the
walls of the next building
00:25:15.40\00:25:17.45
and before you know it
they were on the terrace,
00:25:17.48\00:25:19.92
we had got
access to the top door
00:25:19.95\00:25:22.66
and we actually
entered the building
00:25:22.69\00:25:23.78
before the police
could even do anything
00:25:23.81\00:25:25.46
about breaking a
lock on the bottom.
00:25:25.49\00:25:28.49
Wow, I mean that's interesting
00:25:28.52\00:25:29.55
'cause-- see what I'm hearing is
00:25:29.58\00:25:31.42
not only all these
girls being rescued
00:25:31.45\00:25:33.80
but then I think off a
real-- the real need how--
00:25:33.83\00:25:38.24
Do you take them
back to were they were?
00:25:38.27\00:25:40.44
Do you take 'em
to a different home?
00:25:40.47\00:25:42.55
What happens
when they're rescued?
00:25:42.58\00:25:44.06
Because sometimes--
00:25:44.09\00:25:45.93
I'm thinking of the
poverty aspect of this,
00:25:45.96\00:25:47.90
sometimes a family
may even participate.
00:25:47.93\00:25:51.37
Have you found any
of that kind of fabric
00:25:51.40\00:25:54.09
a part of this networking
00:25:54.12\00:25:55.76
because if the
girls missing at that age
00:25:55.79\00:25:58.06
chance are as you
said 12-13 those young ages
00:25:58.09\00:26:01.30
then following a
romantic interest
00:26:01.33\00:26:04.10
but sometimes
the family may say,
00:26:04.13\00:26:06.21
hey, how much would you
give us for our daughter?
00:26:06.24\00:26:08.53
Had you find-- did you
find any kind of that fabric
00:26:08.56\00:26:11.86
where people were just
giving away their children
00:26:11.89\00:26:13.40
for some kind of financial gain?
00:26:13.43\00:26:14.81
Yeah, I think what
we found in the years
00:26:14.84\00:26:16.77
that we worked
at this area is that
00:26:16.80\00:26:19.11
traffickers pray
on vulnerabilities
00:26:19.14\00:26:21.88
and poverty is one,
00:26:21.91\00:26:23.22
but poverty with the combination
00:26:23.25\00:26:24.85
of gender discrimination,
00:26:24.88\00:26:27.64
unemployment,
illiteracy is a deadly one.
00:26:27.67\00:26:32.30
And we've realized
most often that traffickers
00:26:32.33\00:26:35.69
when they actually go
and procure these girls
00:26:35.72\00:26:39.35
will make promises of jobs
00:26:39.38\00:26:41.78
or will make
promises of a better life.
00:26:41.81\00:26:44.46
For the younger
girls they're often told
00:26:44.49\00:26:46.29
that they are
taking them to an orphanage
00:26:46.32\00:26:48.45
or a school to be able to,
you know, have an education,
00:26:48.48\00:26:52.81
but it's always a lie,
00:26:52.84\00:26:54.55
and most of the
people from villages
00:26:54.58\00:26:56.91
are from high source areas
00:26:56.94\00:26:59.83
which are really
not close to cities,
00:26:59.86\00:27:03.20
often don't know
what's happening.
00:27:03.23\00:27:05.44
And they believe the traffickers
00:27:05.47\00:27:07.19
because the traffickers
gain their trust in some way.
00:27:07.22\00:27:12.00
Sometimes they
settle in the community,
00:27:12.03\00:27:14.23
sometimes they are
a friend of a friend,
00:27:14.26\00:27:16.34
a family friend, sometimes
they're from within the family,
00:27:16.37\00:27:19.70
and they have learned that
00:27:19.73\00:27:21.39
this is an easy
way to make money.
00:27:21.42\00:27:23.74
Many times people
have asked, you know,
00:27:23.77\00:27:25.65
do families
actually sell their children?
00:27:25.68\00:27:28.67
I think without
really knowing it they do.
00:27:28.70\00:27:32.39
They think that their children
00:27:32.42\00:27:34.38
are going on to
something better.
00:27:34.41\00:27:36.39
I mean what you do
when you are a farmer,
00:27:36.42\00:27:37.84
your crops have
failed, monsoons have failed,
00:27:37.87\00:27:41.20
you have eight or nine
children and you have no money,
00:27:41.23\00:27:45.65
no way to feed those
children and somebody comes
00:27:45.68\00:27:48.19
and promises your children now,
at least that they will live,
00:27:48.22\00:27:51.84
you know, they will
get a job in a city.
00:27:51.87\00:27:54.62
These people just
believe that, and send them
00:27:54.65\00:27:57.29
and they're given money
immediately to compensate.
00:27:57.32\00:28:00.07
You know, a
small amount of money,
00:28:00.10\00:28:01.40
and most often they never
hear back from their children.
00:28:01.43\00:28:05.15
You know, I was
thinking of that way,
00:28:05.18\00:28:06.30
as you were
unwrapping the story,
00:28:06.33\00:28:08.58
I was thinking
here and, Jim, this is--
00:28:08.61\00:28:10.67
you know, what's
sad about the situation
00:28:10.70\00:28:12.27
is Asian Aid is involved
in situations similar to this,
00:28:12.30\00:28:16.49
when I was over in India.
00:28:16.52\00:28:19.31
I remember one of the
teachers they are saying,
00:28:19.34\00:28:21.54
sometimes we would find a child
00:28:21.57\00:28:23.55
on the side of the
road tied to a post
00:28:23.58\00:28:27.17
because the family cannot afford
00:28:27.20\00:28:28.52
to take care of this child,
00:28:28.55\00:28:29.73
whatever the reason may be,
and we would rescue that child
00:28:29.76\00:28:32.63
and bring them into a care home
or school or boarding academy,
00:28:32.66\00:28:36.69
whatever the case may
be and raise that child
00:28:36.72\00:28:38.87
and we've seen many
of the success stories,
00:28:38.90\00:28:40.97
you know, for
example, Ravi a success story,
00:28:41.00\00:28:44.68
so when that-- even a family
00:28:44.71\00:28:47.87
is approached
with these prospects
00:28:47.90\00:28:49.71
of a bright life
for your daughter.
00:28:49.74\00:28:52.92
They may even say,
00:28:52.95\00:28:53.98
well, have you heard
of this school in India,
00:28:54.01\00:28:55.60
where foreigners are
coming and helping us out.
00:28:55.63\00:28:57.82
We could get your
daughter into that program,
00:28:57.85\00:28:59.59
so it turns the
light on in the eyes
00:28:59.62\00:29:01.26
of a trusting father or mother.
00:29:01.29\00:29:03.55
But then the sad reality is
what happened to my daughter?
00:29:03.58\00:29:06.73
By then it's a
needle in a haystack,
00:29:06.76\00:29:09.02
you can't find them any longer.
00:29:09.05\00:29:10.73
And some of-- have you interview
00:29:10.76\00:29:12.72
some of these families
that have lost children?
00:29:12.75\00:29:15.09
What has-- tell me about that?
00:29:15.12\00:29:16.82
We have
interviewed families that--
00:29:16.85\00:29:19.24
I wouldn't say lost children
00:29:19.27\00:29:20.49
but have definitely had
their children been trafficked
00:29:20.52\00:29:24.78
and many times when
we've tried to restore
00:29:24.81\00:29:29.32
the children back
to the communities,
00:29:29.35\00:29:31.54
where it is possible
where we know for sure
00:29:31.57\00:29:33.54
that a family member
hasn't been involved,
00:29:33.57\00:29:36.21
and where we can ensure
00:29:36.24\00:29:37.41
that the child is
gonna be protected.
00:29:37.44\00:29:40.13
For example, we had this
girl who had been trafficked
00:29:40.16\00:29:42.47
to the city of
Bangalore by her dad.
00:29:42.50\00:29:45.31
He brought her to the city,
she was only nine years old.
00:29:45.34\00:29:48.24
And he sold her
to a woman there,
00:29:48.27\00:29:51.87
who was gonna
traffic her to Mumbai.
00:29:51.90\00:29:54.24
But somehow and this was
girl was made for two days
00:29:54.27\00:29:57.31
or three days to wash vessels
00:29:57.34\00:29:59.30
and do, you know,
just labor, hard labor
00:29:59.33\00:30:01.30
and wasn't given any food.
00:30:01.33\00:30:03.56
And we thought she had
escaped sexual exploitation.
00:30:03.59\00:30:07.24
She managed to escape
from that place, ran away,
00:30:07.27\00:30:09.92
and somebody on the
road just found her,
00:30:09.95\00:30:12.16
public person
contacted the police,
00:30:12.19\00:30:14.50
who then contacted us,
and I went to visit the girl,
00:30:14.53\00:30:19.01
and we found out that she was
00:30:19.04\00:30:20.85
from a village
in Andhra Pradesh,
00:30:20.88\00:30:22.89
where we had a
project going not very far
00:30:22.92\00:30:24.66
from where she
said her home was.
00:30:24.69\00:30:26.46
So we agreed to take
her back to her home,
00:30:26.49\00:30:30.00
just to be able to
see what the story was
00:30:30.03\00:30:32.13
because she wouldn't talk much.
00:30:32.16\00:30:34.29
On the way she was very
quiet, we stop for food,
00:30:34.32\00:30:36.57
she ate something and then
when we reached the village,
00:30:36.60\00:30:40.07
everything was really quiet
and then we got out of the car,
00:30:40.10\00:30:44.48
obviously they had never seen,
00:30:44.51\00:30:45.84
you know, a car coming
to their village very small
00:30:45.87\00:30:49.43
and then the girl got out.
00:30:49.46\00:30:51.73
And we asked about her parents
00:30:51.76\00:30:53.71
when they said her
dad was back in Bangalore
00:30:53.74\00:30:56.28
searching for her,
00:30:56.31\00:30:57.72
so the story he
had come back with
00:30:57.75\00:30:59.69
was that his daughter
went missing in the crowd
00:30:59.72\00:31:02.32
and that he had gone back
to file a police complaint
00:31:02.35\00:31:04.52
to find his daughter.
00:31:04.55\00:31:05.72
Wow, when in fact he was--
00:31:05.75\00:31:06.78
The mother was in a field
00:31:06.81\00:31:09.59
and then the
grandmother ended up coming
00:31:09.62\00:31:11.45
and when the
grandmother came running
00:31:11.48\00:31:12.82
and saw this granddaughter,
00:31:12.85\00:31:14.07
she thought the
granddaughter was dead
00:31:14.10\00:31:16.01
and they never gonna find her,
00:31:16.04\00:31:17.12
so there was a very
teary you know, embracing
00:31:17.15\00:31:20.64
and then the girl
told the horror story
00:31:20.67\00:31:22.60
to her grandmother,
that she had been abused
00:31:22.63\00:31:26.51
and how her dad himself
had left her in this house
00:31:26.54\00:31:31.04
and said he will come
back, but he didn't turn up.
00:31:31.07\00:31:34.25
And then we went on to explain
00:31:34.28\00:31:35.66
what trafficking
is and everything
00:31:35.69\00:31:37.13
and the sad thing was
00:31:37.16\00:31:38.93
she was in that
home for three days,
00:31:38.96\00:31:41.60
but had been sexually
abused, nine years old.
00:31:41.63\00:31:45.75
This is terrible story, I mean
my heart just bleeds for this.
00:31:45.78\00:31:48.15
I'm hearing about this,
00:31:48.18\00:31:49.21
I'm trying not to
get emotionally connected
00:31:49.24\00:31:50.64
but I'm-- I can't
prevent myself from doing that.
00:31:50.67\00:31:53.56
So this is the
real world of Bangalore
00:31:53.59\00:31:56.30
and other parts of India,
which you've been involved in.
00:31:56.33\00:32:00.22
You brought some
pictures with you
00:32:00.25\00:32:01.96
that I want to walk through
00:32:01.99\00:32:03.02
and I want you to
explain to our audience
00:32:03.05\00:32:04.64
and even those
listening on radio,
00:32:04.67\00:32:06.57
what we're watching?
00:32:06.60\00:32:07.83
They will bring them
up and we'll have them
00:32:07.86\00:32:09.11
have you explain
what are we seeing here?
00:32:09.14\00:32:11.72
Well, this is a rescue that
we had may be a few months ago,
00:32:11.75\00:32:16.08
the girl is from Bangladesh,
increasingly we're seeing girls
00:32:16.11\00:32:19.98
from Nepal and Bangladesh
being trafficked to India,
00:32:20.01\00:32:23.98
and especially to Bangalore.
00:32:24.01\00:32:25.35
Now Bangalore is an IT hub.
00:32:25.38\00:32:28.70
You have a lot of global
people visiting Bangalore
00:32:28.73\00:32:31.59
because every, I think
every multinational company
00:32:31.62\00:32:33.84
has an office in Bangalore.
00:32:33.87\00:32:35.08
Thriving city. Yes,
it is a thriving city.
00:32:35.11\00:32:37.05
And I think it has opened
up the door for more people,
00:32:37.08\00:32:42.38
the demand for sex
and commercial sex,
00:32:42.41\00:32:45.58
and that therefore the increase
00:32:45.61\00:32:47.36
in number of
girls being trafficked
00:32:47.39\00:32:48.86
so the picture up
there was from a rescue.
00:32:48.89\00:32:51.72
We don't get to
take too many pictures
00:32:51.75\00:32:53.30
because of the
sensitivity of the issue itself
00:32:53.33\00:32:56.19
and the secrecy
of our operations.
00:32:56.22\00:33:00.21
But this particular
girl story was that,
00:33:00.24\00:33:03.38
she had been brought
to the city for a job
00:33:03.41\00:33:07.38
and abandoned in
the city in a brothel,
00:33:07.41\00:33:10.53
and had been in the
brothel for three years,
00:33:10.56\00:33:13.47
and the day that we rescued her
00:33:13.50\00:33:14.77
she was so
grateful to be rescued.
00:33:14.80\00:33:17.80
And she was ready to
testify against the traffickers,
00:33:17.83\00:33:22.40
she in fact on the
phone lured a trafficker
00:33:22.43\00:33:25.83
back to the brothel
who had mange to escape.
00:33:25.86\00:33:29.08
And when, you know,
listening her story,
00:33:29.11\00:33:31.19
her story is so typical of
00:33:31.22\00:33:33.11
so many of the Bangladeshi girls
00:33:33.14\00:33:34.79
that we have rescued.
00:33:34.82\00:33:36.43
That the poverty,
extreme poverty in Bangladesh,
00:33:36.46\00:33:39.29
and the promise
of a job brings them
00:33:39.32\00:33:42.67
so easily into the situation.
00:33:42.70\00:33:44.97
So the young ladies
that are found in Bangalore
00:33:45.00\00:33:47.96
are coming from great distances.
00:33:47.99\00:33:49.40
Yes, they are.
00:33:49.43\00:33:50.64
So I mean, when
you think about it,
00:33:50.67\00:33:52.92
here's the young lady
at a crossroad in her life,
00:33:52.95\00:33:56.83
should I stay here and
just follow the road of poverty
00:33:56.86\00:33:59.79
or take my chances in a
big city like Bangalore,
00:33:59.82\00:34:03.11
they gonna go?
00:34:03.14\00:34:04.17
They're never
told the destination.
00:34:04.20\00:34:06.59
Yeah, they're always told a job
00:34:06.62\00:34:08.87
and sometimes
they never even told
00:34:08.90\00:34:10.19
that they gonna be
taken out of the country.
00:34:10.22\00:34:12.91
And often times
we kind of chronicle
00:34:12.94\00:34:15.78
how they came into the country?
00:34:15.81\00:34:17.59
Because how do
you cross borders?
00:34:17.62\00:34:18.88
You have no papers, you
have-- you know, no documents.
00:34:18.91\00:34:22.92
And the story of how
they cross across the border
00:34:22.95\00:34:25.23
is pretty similar
for all of the girls.
00:34:25.26\00:34:27.65
You know, they pay
some-- the agent pay some money,
00:34:27.68\00:34:30.68
the border security
force turns a blind eye,
00:34:30.71\00:34:32.75
sometimes they
abused them themselves
00:34:32.78\00:34:34.92
and they just
walk across the border.
00:34:34.95\00:34:36.72
So this is a
systemic issue. It is.
00:34:36.75\00:34:38.70
Not just, not just--
oh, well, I need some money,
00:34:38.73\00:34:41.64
but it seems and I
would understand that
00:34:41.67\00:34:44.29
in this investigation
process of seven, eight years,
00:34:44.32\00:34:48.35
you're discovering,
00:34:48.38\00:34:49.60
I want to be not
very-- not specific
00:34:49.63\00:34:52.69
but there are some
legal ramifications here
00:34:52.72\00:34:55.85
because you are talking
about people in high places,
00:34:55.88\00:34:58.49
that are involved in that.
00:34:58.52\00:34:59.62
What impact has that
been to your operation?
00:34:59.65\00:35:02.64
Because here is a movement now
00:35:02.67\00:35:05.91
that's on the
streets intelligent now,
00:35:05.94\00:35:09.09
ready and out there on
par with the intelligence
00:35:09.12\00:35:12.51
and the skills of
the police officers,
00:35:12.54\00:35:14.53
who themselves may be
tainted by the system.
00:35:14.56\00:35:18.05
What kind of opposition
are you getting if any at all?
00:35:18.08\00:35:21.06
Well, we're
talking big money here.
00:35:21.09\00:35:23.32
If trafficking wasn't
grossing millions of dollars
00:35:23.35\00:35:27.28
it wouldn't be such a big issue.
00:35:27.31\00:35:30.11
I think were so
many of the brothels
00:35:30.14\00:35:32.15
that we worked in,
00:35:32.18\00:35:34.49
it's they make
00:35:34.52\00:35:36.89
to a $1,500 every day.
00:35:36.92\00:35:40.24
And it-- that happens
from just may be one girl,
00:35:40.27\00:35:43.53
two girls or in
about under five girls,
00:35:43.56\00:35:48.06
so you can imagine
that kind of money,
00:35:48.09\00:35:49.65
I mean, there are
many, many payouts.
00:35:49.68\00:35:52.73
Like you said, law enforcement
is very much involved,
00:35:52.76\00:35:55.75
sometimes as
clients and customers,
00:35:55.78\00:35:58.09
most times to turn
a blind eye to allow
00:35:58.12\00:36:01.38
this kind of
undercover work to flourish.
00:36:01.41\00:36:06.99
The big risks in this are that
00:36:07.02\00:36:09.17
these
traffickers are big people.
00:36:09.20\00:36:11.43
And anyone who's
trying to spoil their trade
00:36:11.46\00:36:14.17
their business, is at risk.
00:36:14.20\00:36:18.19
And one of the
big challenges for us
00:36:18.22\00:36:19.77
is to be able to survive
in this dark and nasty world,
00:36:19.80\00:36:24.23
but like you said
at the start of this--
00:36:24.26\00:36:27.53
it's God who's
brought us into this,
00:36:27.56\00:36:29.05
it's God who
wants to shine His light
00:36:29.08\00:36:31.52
in this very dark places
00:36:31.55\00:36:32.89
and He uses the
most obscure, weak,
00:36:32.92\00:36:36.61
unaccountable people to
accomplish His great jobs.
00:36:36.64\00:36:40.32
And so till today,
I can boldly testify
00:36:40.35\00:36:43.78
that nothing of
serious consequence
00:36:43.81\00:36:46.32
has happened to
anyone of us, our staff.
00:36:46.35\00:36:48.93
We have been followed,
we have been threatened,
00:36:48.96\00:36:51.91
we have been chased, but
we have never been touched.
00:36:51.94\00:36:55.15
Well, praise the Lord.
00:36:55.18\00:36:56.22
And it is-- we all
know that it is a risk,
00:36:56.25\00:37:00.25
but if we do not take the risk,
00:37:00.28\00:37:03.17
there are hundreds of girls
literally 200 girls everyday
00:37:03.20\00:37:07.52
are forced into prostitution.
00:37:07.55\00:37:09.78
80% of them against
their will in India.
00:37:09.81\00:37:12.80
So it requires us to be
willing to take this risk,
00:37:12.83\00:37:17.23
knowing that God is in control,
00:37:17.26\00:37:19.49
and that He would be with
us, as He has been in the past.
00:37:19.52\00:37:24.28
That right. To protect us.
00:37:24.31\00:37:26.16
Now, do you have
any more pictures
00:37:26.19\00:37:27.30
that you want to
explain to our audience?
00:37:27.33\00:37:28.93
Yes, I think we
have a couple of others.
00:37:28.96\00:37:31.40
This is a policeman,
00:37:31.43\00:37:32.98
the person in the
green shirt is a trafficker.
00:37:33.01\00:37:37.35
This operation
involved the rescue of
00:37:37.38\00:37:40.54
33 women and children.
00:37:40.57\00:37:42.90
Who are being housed in--
00:37:42.93\00:37:45.33
in a women's only accommodation,
00:37:45.36\00:37:48.06
the whole of the
ground floor had been taken
00:37:48.09\00:37:50.69
and the girls had been
trafficked from Bangladesh
00:37:50.72\00:37:55.10
and other places in India.
00:37:55.13\00:37:57.50
And this main pimp
was actually looking
00:37:57.53\00:38:01.58
after this whole operation,
and we had to bust this,
00:38:01.61\00:38:04.63
the police were very,
very good in this operation,
00:38:04.66\00:38:06.81
cooperated completely with us.
00:38:06.84\00:38:09.14
And we were able to rescue
those 33 women and children,
00:38:09.17\00:38:13.23
who are being forced
to hide in a huge room,
00:38:13.26\00:38:19.16
but absolutely no ventilation.
00:38:19.19\00:38:21.42
We searched for
about 45 minutes to an hour
00:38:21.45\00:38:24.47
and there was no light and
no ventilation in that room
00:38:24.50\00:38:27.85
where we found them.
00:38:27.88\00:38:29.05
I mean if we hadn't found them,
00:38:29.08\00:38:31.19
I dread to think
what would have happened
00:38:31.22\00:38:32.66
because they were desperately
trying to hide these people,
00:38:32.69\00:38:35.98
you know, pretend like nobody
was there in that building.
00:38:36.01\00:38:38.46
Wow, now the other thing is
having Operation Child Rescue,
00:38:38.49\00:38:45.09
have you gain any kind
of government recognition?
00:38:45.12\00:38:49.73
Because to carry on
this for as long as you have,
00:38:49.76\00:38:52.70
how did you-- how did you
get to that particular place?
00:38:52.73\00:38:55.55
Yes, we have gained
a lot of appreciation
00:38:55.58\00:38:59.07
from the government.
00:38:59.10\00:39:01.39
We have some really
good police officers
00:39:01.42\00:39:04.02
who work closely with us.
00:39:04.05\00:39:06.50
To be able to get
the police to go with us
00:39:06.53\00:39:09.37
on these
operations is an uphill task.
00:39:09.40\00:39:11.74
First, we have to convince them
00:39:11.77\00:39:12.80
about the emergency of the need.
00:39:12.83\00:39:16.16
Then we have to, you
know, hide the information
00:39:16.19\00:39:19.13
sufficiently enough so there
is no tip off from their side.
00:39:19.16\00:39:22.47
Wow, that's huge.
00:39:22.50\00:39:23.53
And the third is that we
have to prevent any corruption
00:39:23.56\00:39:27.84
as we go out on
these rescue operation so,
00:39:27.87\00:39:31.11
to say that we've
must have done about
00:39:31.14\00:39:33.47
in the last
eight years, nine years
00:39:33.50\00:39:35.62
we must have done
over 50 operations.
00:39:35.65\00:39:38.70
And most of them
have been successful
00:39:38.73\00:39:41.13
in the rescues of
the women and children.
00:39:41.16\00:39:45.54
And partnering with the
police has not been easy,
00:39:45.57\00:39:49.24
but we have managed to do that,
00:39:49.27\00:39:50.44
gained a lot of
respect with them,
00:39:50.47\00:39:52.54
especially with the
investigative skills
00:39:52.57\00:39:55.04
that we have
been able to build on,
00:39:55.07\00:39:57.04
and the credibility.
00:39:57.07\00:39:59.15
You know, you mentioned
something earlier that's about,
00:39:59.18\00:40:01.38
I want to go back and address
00:40:01.41\00:40:02.93
because Bangalore is
such an international hub, IT
00:40:02.96\00:40:05.74
you know, the whole
tech and it's a quite a city,
00:40:05.77\00:40:08.67
Jim, you know, we
see the buildings,
00:40:08.70\00:40:10.57
we could see the obvious
business aspect of that city.
00:40:10.60\00:40:13.80
International
travelers coming in,
00:40:13.83\00:40:15.82
hiding their
dark secrets in the--
00:40:15.85\00:40:18.11
under the umbrella
of, I'm away from home,
00:40:18.14\00:40:21.58
and thinking that these
things won't be found out.
00:40:21.61\00:40:26.13
How have you been
able to impact that
00:40:26.16\00:40:29.33
or is there any
impact because I know that,
00:40:29.36\00:40:32.01
I mean, this is
not an easy task,
00:40:32.04\00:40:34.34
you're getting local help,
00:40:34.37\00:40:35.40
you're getting
government's support,
00:40:35.43\00:40:37.34
but I think that
what kind of message
00:40:37.37\00:40:39.50
is being sent to those
who may think of Bangalore
00:40:39.53\00:40:41.39
as, hey, if you want to go ahead
00:40:41.42\00:40:42.97
and get involved in
the dark sexual trade,
00:40:43.00\00:40:46.01
go to Bangalore.
00:40:46.04\00:40:47.12
What kind of
message has been sent,
00:40:47.15\00:40:49.31
in any kind of media form
to those-- to those avenues?
00:40:49.34\00:40:53.59
Yeah, I think, I have talked
in length about the rescues,
00:40:53.62\00:40:57.12
but we do a lot of
prevention as well.
00:40:57.15\00:40:58.59
Okay.
00:40:58.62\00:40:59.65
And one of the big
messages that we always try
00:40:59.68\00:41:02.02
and get across is the
reality of trafficking.
00:41:02.05\00:41:05.30
You know, so many people think
00:41:05.33\00:41:06.94
that it exists
in another places,
00:41:06.97\00:41:08.40
Southeast Asia, you know,
00:41:08.43\00:41:10.01
Bangladesh,
Calcutta, Delhi even,
00:41:10.04\00:41:12.82
but not really the cities,
00:41:12.85\00:41:14.20
so we do as many
promotional talks as possible
00:41:14.23\00:41:18.54
with general
public in companies,
00:41:18.57\00:41:21.19
multinational companies
00:41:21.22\00:41:22.96
that bring in staff from abroad.
00:41:22.99\00:41:26.44
We talk to them about
the realities of trafficking.
00:41:26.47\00:41:28.68
What it is like on the
ground? Who the clients are?
00:41:28.71\00:41:31.60
Very often, IT professionals
visiting the city are clients.
00:41:31.63\00:41:35.59
When we've done
our rescue sometimes
00:41:35.62\00:41:37.04
we've arrested people who
are using these facilities,
00:41:37.07\00:41:42.40
and many times we've discovered
00:41:42.43\00:41:44.69
that they are well educated,
young IT professionals.
00:41:44.72\00:41:49.04
Foreigners actually.
00:41:49.07\00:41:50.10
Foreigners, yeah, Indians,
00:41:50.13\00:41:52.93
people who just are
able to pay for sex.
00:41:52.96\00:41:56.56
And don't really question
where these girls are from?
00:41:56.59\00:42:02.52
Did they get into
this on their own?
00:42:02.55\00:42:04.71
How are they being used?
How they are being treated?
00:42:04.74\00:42:09.16
So we do a lot of talks on this
00:42:09.19\00:42:12.06
because I believe that
if we do not get the message
00:42:12.09\00:42:14.51
across that
trafficking is a reality
00:42:14.54\00:42:18.97
and that we need to
stop any form of trafficking.
00:42:19.00\00:42:23.76
We need to be able
to educate these people.
00:42:23.79\00:42:25.55
So that's a big--
that's a big part of it
00:42:25.58\00:42:27.02
because you know, if you
say to the company heads,
00:42:27.05\00:42:29.36
when you have
the next convention
00:42:29.39\00:42:30.70
know who you are bringing in.
00:42:30.73\00:42:32.41
And understand what their--
what their focuses may be
00:42:32.44\00:42:36.14
because you could
be bringing in people
00:42:36.17\00:42:37.23
that are predators
on our own society.
00:42:37.26\00:42:40.70
Do you have a
couple more pictures
00:42:40.73\00:42:41.76
that you want
to walk us through?
00:42:41.79\00:42:42.82
Yeah, I think there is one more,
00:42:42.85\00:42:44.60
and this again was
rescue that we did.
00:42:44.63\00:42:48.09
These girls had been
brought into the city
00:42:48.12\00:42:51.05
to work in a beauty parlor,
and again from Bangladesh,
00:42:51.08\00:42:54.56
a mix of girls from Bangladesh
and from other places.
00:42:54.59\00:42:57.91
And the reason I put this
picture up was we rescued them
00:42:57.94\00:43:01.07
and it took a long time
for us to finish off the cases.
00:43:01.10\00:43:04.21
It takes about 4 to
5 hours for the rescue
00:43:04.24\00:43:07.75
and the subsequent
legal work that goes on,
00:43:07.78\00:43:11.33
the filing of the
cases, the traffickers.
00:43:11.36\00:43:15.02
And because it was late at night
00:43:15.05\00:43:17.33
the police decided to
house them in-- in a place
00:43:17.36\00:43:21.49
that was really not
certified for trafficked victims
00:43:21.52\00:43:26.35
and by the time we got
to them in the morning,
00:43:26.38\00:43:29.11
the three of them had run away.
00:43:29.14\00:43:31.67
They had manage to
escape from that place
00:43:31.70\00:43:33.20
because there was no security,
00:43:33.23\00:43:34.95
and this brings me
to one of the issues
00:43:34.98\00:43:36.64
that I really would like
to highlight on this show,
00:43:36.67\00:43:39.55
is that once we
rescue these girls,
00:43:39.58\00:43:43.17
we find it very, very
difficult to rehabilitate them
00:43:43.20\00:43:46.31
because the only option we have
is the government run shelter,
00:43:46.34\00:43:50.78
which is more like a jail,
00:43:50.81\00:43:52.89
and is not equipped to deal
00:43:52.92\00:43:55.36
specifically with
trafficked victims.
00:43:55.39\00:43:58.20
They have all kinds
of victims, that are,
00:43:58.23\00:43:59.91
you know, domestic violence,
00:43:59.94\00:44:01.64
abuse, runaways,
abandoned children
00:44:01.67\00:44:06.04
and trafficking has
its own issues especially
00:44:06.07\00:44:08.52
because of the level of abuse,
00:44:08.55\00:44:10.83
and the slavery that you know,
they have been involved in.
00:44:10.86\00:44:15.96
These people do
not fit in there.
00:44:15.99\00:44:18.64
And they
sometimes try to escape,
00:44:18.67\00:44:20.24
so one of the things
that we are looking at
00:44:20.27\00:44:22.62
is to try and see if
we can open our own home.
00:44:22.65\00:44:25.92
So that when we
rescue these girls,
00:44:25.95\00:44:27.79
they have a safe place to go to,
00:44:27.82\00:44:29.81
and we're able to
intervene immediately
00:44:29.84\00:44:33.09
whether it is
counseling or prayer
00:44:33.12\00:44:35.44
or any kind of support.
00:44:35.47\00:44:36.83
Specific help.
00:44:36.86\00:44:37.93
Yes, and encouragement,
that will just give them
00:44:37.96\00:44:40.97
that hope that there
is a future for them.
00:44:41.00\00:44:44.21
I think this is where
Asian Aid is partnering
00:44:44.24\00:44:46.00
and talk about that some,
00:44:46.03\00:44:47.18
Jim as we have few minutes
remaining on our program.
00:44:47.21\00:44:49.83
Well, as a key
project for us next year
00:44:49.86\00:44:53.01
we have to build this home.
00:44:53.04\00:44:54.79
I mean, you can see
the dedication of Anita
00:44:54.82\00:44:57.40
and her team.
00:44:57.43\00:44:58.96
Their spirituality, but
they are on the frontline,
00:44:58.99\00:45:01.78
I mean who else
goes into the situations,
00:45:01.81\00:45:04.80
since she is
downplaying what she does.
00:45:04.83\00:45:07.28
She's downplaying the danger,
00:45:07.31\00:45:09.31
and the
corruption that she faces.
00:45:09.34\00:45:11.62
And we're just excited that
00:45:11.65\00:45:13.35
as one of our key
projects next year,
00:45:13.38\00:45:16.09
we can help raise funds
for this home or shelter,
00:45:16.12\00:45:20.48
and that would be a
key project for us in 2015.
00:45:20.51\00:45:24.99
Because we are
associated with children,
00:45:25.02\00:45:29.84
we just want them,
00:45:29.87\00:45:30.90
we belief we have to
that where we find committed
00:45:30.93\00:45:33.83
Christians that are
involved in this work,
00:45:33.86\00:45:35.92
we have to support them.
00:45:35.95\00:45:37.52
You know, that's why I
want to just on this very note,
00:45:37.55\00:45:39.39
I want to
appeal to our listening
00:45:39.42\00:45:40.80
and viewing audience because,
I mean this is gripping,
00:45:40.83\00:45:43.36
I wish I had two hours,
00:45:43.39\00:45:44.54
just to sit on
and talk with you.
00:45:44.57\00:45:46.18
And I appreciate the fact that
you've been able to communicate
00:45:46.21\00:45:48.57
such sensitive
information in the way
00:45:48.60\00:45:50.73
that you have and I
know that you have to
00:45:50.76\00:45:52.74
for many reasons
not be so specific
00:45:52.77\00:45:55.27
and do downplay of some of what
you talked about here today.
00:45:55.30\00:45:58.81
And I sense that
those of you listening
00:45:58.84\00:46:00.24
and watching this
program will know that also,
00:46:00.27\00:46:02.44
this is a very real
problem around the world,
00:46:02.47\00:46:05.98
but I thank the Lord
that He's called Anita Kanaiya
00:46:06.01\00:46:09.21
and her team and to
partner with Asian Aid
00:46:09.24\00:46:11.90
to make a difference and
impact the lives of young lady
00:46:11.93\00:46:14.21
and in some cases
young men in Bangalore,
00:46:14.24\00:46:17.29
and other parts of India.
00:46:17.32\00:46:18.35
But here is the
information that you need,
00:46:18.38\00:46:20.13
if you are
interested to get involved
00:46:20.16\00:46:22.22
financially in any other way,
here is how you can do that.
00:46:22.25\00:46:25.84
If you would like to
know more about this ministry
00:46:27.90\00:46:30.10
or if you would like to
help sponsor a child in need,
00:46:30.13\00:46:32.89
then you can
write to Asian Aid, USA,
00:46:32.92\00:46:35.98
PO Box 2258
Collegedale, Tennessee 37315.
00:46:36.01\00:46:41.80
That's Asian Aid, USA,
00:46:41.83\00:46:44.25
PO Box 2258
Collegedale, Tennessee 37315.
00:46:44.28\00:46:50.29
You can call 423-910-0667.
00:46:50.32\00:46:54.25
That's 423-910-0667.
00:46:54.28\00:46:58.67
Or you can visit their
website at asianaid.org.
00:46:58.70\00:47:03.02
That's asianaid.org.
00:47:03.05\00:47:05.85
Sponsor a child's life today
to empower their life tomorrow.
00:47:05.88\00:47:13.17
You've receive the information,
00:47:13.20\00:47:14.36
but I want to give Jim
sometime to just go ahead,
00:47:14.39\00:47:16.68
we have a minute on this side
00:47:16.71\00:47:17.77
but sometime on the
other side of our newsbreak.
00:47:17.80\00:47:20.32
What are the some of the ways
00:47:20.35\00:47:21.39
that our audience can
get involved in this project?
00:47:21.42\00:47:25.11
Well, this project is called
00:47:25.14\00:47:26.72
Asian Aid Operation Child Rescue
00:47:26.75\00:47:29.75
and I think we've got
a slide with the logo on
00:47:29.78\00:47:32.65
and we would just seek support
from our 3ABN partnerships
00:47:32.68\00:47:38.55
very important and
the 3ABN supporters
00:47:38.58\00:47:41.61
and viewers have been
very supportive of our projects
00:47:41.64\00:47:45.22
and we would just
ask that they consider
00:47:45.25\00:47:48.39
supporting the Asian
Aid Operation Child Rescue,
00:47:48.42\00:47:52.31
and in the new year
we'll be communicating ways
00:47:52.34\00:47:54.99
that they can do that.
00:47:55.02\00:47:56.65
And but we'll also ask for
your prayers for this project.
00:47:56.68\00:48:01.90
Anita and her team need
guarding angels around them,
00:48:01.93\00:48:05.16
so we probably seek the
prayers and support first,
00:48:05.19\00:48:09.15
but obliviously for us to
support the rescue program
00:48:09.18\00:48:13.02
and then
eventually build a shelter
00:48:13.05\00:48:16.04
is very, very important.
00:48:16.07\00:48:17.84
You know, I think that note
00:48:17.87\00:48:18.98
is so
significance to the next song
00:48:19.01\00:48:21.15
that Vonda Beerman
is going to be singing.
00:48:21.18\00:48:23.59
These young ladies,
00:48:23.62\00:48:24.66
these young
children need a hiding place.
00:48:24.69\00:48:27.17
Listen to the
message in the song
00:48:27.20\00:48:28.31
and I pray that
God will impress you
00:48:28.34\00:48:30.25
to do something
about what you've heard?
00:48:30.28\00:48:32.70
You are my hiding place
00:49:01.48\00:49:07.21
You always fill my heart
00:49:07.24\00:49:11.86
With songs of deliverance
00:49:11.89\00:49:17.83
Whenever I am afraid
00:49:17.86\00:49:21.60
I will trust in You
00:49:21.63\00:49:27.23
I will trust in You
00:49:27.26\00:49:33.04
Let the weak say
00:49:33.07\00:49:35.52
I am strong
00:49:35.55\00:49:39.61
In the strength of the Lord
00:49:39.64\00:49:45.55
You are my hiding place
00:49:47.87\00:49:53.54
You always fill my heart
00:49:53.57\00:49:58.18
With songs of deliverance
00:49:58.21\00:50:04.04
Whenever I am afraid
00:50:04.07\00:50:07.92
I will trust in You
00:50:07.95\00:50:13.76
I will trust in You
00:50:13.79\00:50:19.48
Let the weak say I am strong
00:50:19.51\00:50:25.98
In the strength of the Lord
00:50:26.01\00:50:32.01
You are my hiding place
00:50:57.00\00:51:03.05
You always fill my heart
00:51:03.08\00:51:07.81
With songs of deliverance
00:51:07.84\00:51:13.54
Whenever I am afraid
00:51:13.57\00:51:17.40
I will trust in You
00:51:17.43\00:51:23.28
I will trust in You
00:51:23.31\00:51:28.80
Let the weak say
00:51:28.83\00:51:31.37
I am strong
00:51:31.40\00:51:35.43
In the strength of the Lord
00:51:35.46\00:51:40.73
I will trust in You
00:51:40.76\00:51:46.47
I will trust in You
00:51:46.50\00:51:51.94
Let the weak say I am strong
00:51:51.97\00:51:58.68
In the strength of the Lord
00:51:58.71\00:52:03.84
I will trust in You
00:52:03.87\00:52:11.75
