I grew up in a home that,

Christian family.

Although it, it had issues,

it broke apart early on
in my life that the home did

and I was brought
up going to church,

going to Christian schools,

you know, I had good education,

had a-- I was taught who God is.

But and one thing
that I was taught also

was the understanding

that Jesus is
gonna come back some day.

back to take us to heaven.

And that was a thought
that was implanted in me

so deep that it
was always there.

My life strayed greatly,

after through the teen
years and after the teen years.

I eventually got to a point
in my life after high school

I had to make a decision.

I was thinking you know,
I can't really follow God

and have everything
I want in the world.

And so I basically
had to made a decision

okay, God I'm
not gonna follow You,

because I can't
struggle with my conscience

for my whole life.

and I'm gonna live

how felt for a quite long,

for most of my adult
life up until just about

that you went on?

to declare our liberty.

But in fact, we
don't really realize

in declaring our
disconnect from God,

we're actually
declaring our bondage and--

I been there, I know

But what are
some of those avenues

that you went
down that God actually

followed you down
as we can see today?

were-- for the most part

I was, I was fairly protected.

I didn't, I didn't get
involved into lot of drugs,

a lot of crime, you know,

I heard some
incredible testimony

and so how God has
pulled people out of crime.

I was pretty,
pretty, pretty fortunate.

I had a nice middle
class upbringing, you know,
00:11:18.25\00:11:22.55
but I think that wanting
to achieve or wanted it I,

you know, things started coming
into my life had an early age.

Let's, we call adult material.
00:11:31.58\00:11:33.66
Things that, things that
we shouldn't be looking at

came in at an
early age in my life
00:11:35.95\00:11:38.45
and it implanted
the wrong seed, okay.

As I, as I got through collage

I was doing the typical things
that you'll do in collage,

you know, at a where you
are not in a Christian school

or anything, You
are, you are drinking,

you doing those
things on the weekend.

That whole free
spirited. Yeah, yeah.

I was, I was
following my passions,

I got-- I found a
previous marriage and,

and this is little
bit hard to talk about.

But-- and that
was quite a ways back

and it-- that
marriage ended really bad

through, through adultery
and that it was you know,

my misunderstanding of
how relationship should be

and seeking
something in my heart

that just was gonna
lead down the wrong path

and it destroyed
that relationship.

And for about
10 years after that

take about 10 years,

you know, I had a lot of guilt,
a lot of sadness, tremendous,

was always trying

to fill my heart with the things

that would take me out of that.

You know, I was responsible

that relationship.

with my sports, my activities,

that would take
my mind off of it.

and saves us to the uttermost.

So there is no
path that we can go down

that the Lord will say

You know, He sends
His spirit after us

At what point did you meet Tony?

We met about four years ago

both knew right away

looking for someone

and that the, for me
I felt it was the God

that God was
bringing someone to me.

At that point
Tony didn't have faith

and we were dating

and so when the
question came from me,

Lord and he said no,

we had a crossroads.

Wow. And he started changing.

The Lord started
and not because of me

but the Lord
started touching his heart

and we often say of that,
that I brought him to the Lord

and then he brought me
to some specific truths.

Well, give us a
peak into your background

because you know, God is putting

this is a family that
God is putting together.

this union that God
has brought together.

But just kind of

Well, I was brought to the
Lord when I was 15 from a friend

who had had some
terrible trauma in her life

but she was so
happy and I just thought,

you know, I want what she has.
00:16:22.56\00:16:24.62
And so I came to the Lord,
but I didn't follow the Lord.

I came to the Lord was baptized
and then lived my life away

from the Lord
for very long time.

I didn't know the full extent

of what was
giving her that peace,

you know, reading
the word, praying to God,

I was just in church
when I could be and--

and so through some hard times

and some broken marriages.

I was a single mother and
then when Tony came along,

he just was-- he was
just a breath of fresh air

because I had never
experience someone with,

even though he didn't
know the Lord right away

he had responsibility,
he had love for my son.

So I began to change
and grow closer to Lord too.

So, the Lord really
work us straight a lot

Now the reason why I

when people hear about
some one going to ministry,

they say, yeah, surely.

Christians all their lives

they come from
this prayed homes,

you know, probably Adventist
schools all their lives,

you know, clean kids and
never done anything wrong.

That's not the case. No.

God looks at us and as you
said that text so beautiful,

in that while we were yet
sinners Christ died for us

and as a pastor, you
know, that speaks volumes

with the president turn around
