00:02:19.08\00:02:21.47 Every one of us is either a missionary 00:02:21.50\00:02:24.44 or we are a mission field. 00:02:24.47\00:02:26.62 Well, today you're going to meet those 00:02:26.65\00:02:28.13 who are headed to the mission field, 00:02:28.16\00:02:30.02 which legitimately qualifies them 00:02:30.05\00:02:31.87 to be missionaries in the making. 00:02:31.90\00:02:35.23 But as you know before we introduce our guest 00:02:35.26\00:02:36.96 we always have music. 00:02:36.99\00:02:38.42 And today Steve Darmody and Jaclyn Pruehs 00:02:38.45\00:02:42.93 are going to lead by singing a wonderful song 00:02:42.96\00:02:45.65 "Vision of Tomorrow." 00:02:45.68\00:02:48.06 Doors close in front of me 00:03:07.62\00:03:11.38 That were once familiar paths 00:03:11.41\00:03:15.66 Routine slips away from me 00:03:15.69\00:03:19.75 That I thought would always last 00:03:19.78\00:03:23.74 But here I stand at this crossroad 00:03:23.77\00:03:28.39 Unsure what God has planned 00:03:28.42\00:03:32.59 A whisper to my heart is heard 00:03:32.62\00:03:36.63 And by faith I understand 00:03:36.66\00:03:40.29 God doesn't let the sun set 00:03:40.32\00:03:44.77 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:03:44.80\00:03:48.44 And you've never seen a shadow fall 00:03:48.47\00:03:53.65 Without Him knowing all 00:03:53.68\00:03:56.91 And If He should choose to close the door 00:03:56.94\00:04:02.34 Somewhere there's a window 00:04:02.37\00:04:06.34 'Cause God doesn't let the sun set 00:04:06.37\00:04:10.14 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:04:10.17\00:04:14.94 I've been feeling a new direction 00:04:20.66\00:04:25.58 Calling for some time 00:04:25.61\00:04:29.78 Walking toward the great unknown 00:04:29.81\00:04:33.65 I feel as though I'm blind 00:04:33.68\00:04:37.61 But I know that You're leading me 00:04:37.64\00:04:42.15 My destiny You hold 00:04:42.18\00:04:46.40 A new horizon waits ahead 00:04:46.43\00:04:50.24 Full of promise untold 00:04:50.27\00:04:53.90 God doesn't let the sun set 00:04:53.93\00:04:58.51 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:04:58.54\00:05:02.32 You've never seen a shadow fall 00:05:02.35\00:05:07.40 Without Him knowing all 00:05:07.43\00:05:10.79 If He should choose to close the door 00:05:10.82\00:05:16.02 Somewhere there's a window 00:05:16.05\00:05:19.96 'Cause God doesn't let the sun set 00:05:19.99\00:05:23.81 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:05:23.84\00:05:28.07 So I'll walk on 00:05:28.10\00:05:32.40 Though this road may be ending 00:05:32.43\00:05:36.62 There's a brighter dawn 00:05:36.65\00:05:40.82 There's a brand new beginning 00:05:40.85\00:05:46.33 'Cause God doesn't let the sun set 00:05:46.36\00:05:51.09 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:05:51.12\00:05:54.77 And you've never seen a shadow fall 00:05:54.80\00:06:00.06 Without Him knowing all 00:06:00.09\00:06:03.14 And If He should choose to close the door 00:06:03.17\00:06:08.65 Somewhere there's a window 00:06:08.68\00:06:12.63 'Cause God doesn't let the sun set 00:06:12.66\00:06:16.44 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:06:16.47\00:06:20.03 And If He should choose to close the door 00:06:20.06\00:06:25.57 Somewhere there's a window 00:06:25.60\00:06:29.46 'Cause God doesn't let the sun set 00:06:29.49\00:06:33.25 Without a vision of tomorrow 00:06:33.28\00:06:40.71 Thank you so much for that wonderful song 00:06:59.77\00:07:02.26 "Vision of Tomorrow." 00:10:32.98\00:10:34.01 Lot of times we like to declare our liberty. 00:10:34.04\00:10:36.58 But in fact, we don't really realize 00:10:36.61\00:10:38.50 in declaring our disconnect from God, 00:10:38.53\00:10:40.54 we're actually declaring our bondage and-- 00:10:40.57\00:10:41.80 Yeah, absolutely. 00:10:41.83\00:10:42.86 I been there, I know what you are talking about. 00:10:42.89\00:10:44.53 Yeah. 00:10:44.56\00:10:45.59 But what are some of those avenues 00:10:45.62\00:10:47.17 that you went down that God actually 00:10:47.20\00:10:50.21 followed you down as we can see today? 00:10:50.24\00:10:53.48 Oh, wow. 00:10:53.51\00:10:57.30 Let's see there were-- for the most part 00:10:57.33\00:11:02.37 I was, I was fairly protected. 00:11:02.40\00:11:04.57 I didn't, I didn't get involved into lot of drugs, 00:11:04.60\00:11:09.44 a lot of crime, you know, 00:11:09.47\00:11:10.67 I heard some incredible testimony 00:11:10.70\00:11:12.32 and so how God has pulled people out of crime. 00:11:12.35\00:11:15.07 I was pretty, pretty, pretty fortunate. 00:11:15.10\00:11:18.22 I had a nice middle class upbringing, you know, 00:11:18.25\00:11:22.55 but I think that wanting to achieve or wanted it I, 00:11:22.58\00:11:27.44 you know, things started coming into my life had an early age. 00:11:27.47\00:11:31.55 Let's, we call adult material. 00:11:31.58\00:11:33.66 Things that, things that we shouldn't be looking at 00:11:33.69\00:11:35.92 came in at an early age in my life 00:11:35.95\00:11:38.45 and it implanted the wrong seed, okay. 00:11:38.48\00:11:43.71 As I, as I got through collage 00:11:43.74\00:11:47.70 I was doing the typical things that you'll do in collage, 00:11:47.73\00:11:50.41 you know, at a where you are not in a Christian school 00:11:50.44\00:11:54.51 or anything, You are, you are drinking, 00:11:54.54\00:11:56.86 you doing those things on the weekend. 00:11:56.89\00:11:58.42 That whole free spirited. Yeah, yeah. 00:11:58.45\00:12:00.89 I was, I was following my passions, 00:12:00.92\00:12:05.31 I got-- I found a previous marriage and, 00:12:05.34\00:12:11.98 and this is little bit hard to talk about. 00:12:12.01\00:12:14.51 But-- and that was quite a ways back 00:12:14.54\00:12:18.54 and it-- that marriage ended really bad 00:12:18.57\00:12:22.75 through, through adultery and that it was you know, 00:12:22.78\00:12:27.89 my misunderstanding of how relationship should be 00:12:27.92\00:12:30.93 and seeking something in my heart 00:12:30.96\00:12:32.86 that just was gonna lead down the wrong path 00:12:32.89\00:12:35.10 and it destroyed that relationship. 00:12:35.13\00:12:37.15 And for about 10 years after that 00:12:37.18\00:12:39.75 just give or take about 10 years, 00:12:39.78\00:12:41.38 you know, I had a lot of guilt, a lot of sadness, tremendous, 00:12:41.41\00:12:46.87 you know, and I was always trying 00:12:46.90\00:12:48.00 to fill my heart with the things 00:12:48.03\00:12:50.23 that would take me out of that. 00:12:50.26\00:12:52.54 You know, I was responsible 00:12:52.57\00:12:53.78 for destroying that relationship. 00:12:53.81\00:12:56.21 And so I filled my heart with my sports, my activities, 00:12:56.24\00:13:02.73 you know, with anything 00:13:02.76\00:13:04.69 that would take my mind off of it. 00:13:04.72\00:13:06.30 So where you one of those outdoors guys 00:13:06.33\00:13:08.52 get involve in risky spots? 00:13:08.55\00:13:10.13 Absolutely. 00:13:10.16\00:13:12.41 I loved as a little kid jumping off things, 00:13:12.44\00:13:14.37 I think my son loves jumping off things. 00:13:14.40\00:13:16.43 We got to go rock climb-- 00:13:16.46\00:13:17.49 we went to rock climbing the other day. 00:13:17.52\00:13:19.04 He climbed right up 25 feet 00:13:19.07\00:13:20.46 and on those one of those self repelling ropes 00:13:20.49\00:13:23.70 and they let you swing down so. 00:13:23.73\00:13:25.36 So he doesn't believe in lo, I'm with you always, okay. 00:13:25.39\00:13:29.40 But as you, as you begin to take this journey 00:13:29.43\00:13:32.20 and you share something's there 00:13:32.23\00:13:33.74 that are quite telling in the sense that 00:13:33.77\00:13:36.31 what I want to highlight in that is that 00:13:36.34\00:13:39.22 the Lord and I have this phrase that I use, 00:13:39.25\00:13:41.63 I have heard it growing up, 00:13:41.66\00:13:43.09 the Lord reaches to the gutter most 00:13:43.12\00:13:44.96 and saves us to the uttermost. 00:13:44.99\00:13:47.14 So there is no path that we can go down 00:13:47.17\00:13:49.68 that the Lord will say Tony, you are on your own, 00:13:49.71\00:13:52.96 I wait till you come out of that. 00:13:52.99\00:13:54.63 You know, He sends His spirit after us 00:13:54.66\00:13:57.25 and in the myths of our breaking points, 00:13:57.28\00:14:00.22 and in the myths of our tumbling's 00:14:00.25\00:14:01.94 and assembling God's call in our lives still remain 00:14:01.97\00:14:06.51 and I'm hearing that. 00:14:06.54\00:14:08.39 Yes. Yes, I-- 00:14:08.42\00:14:13.21 God had always and the really fantastic thing about God 00:14:13.24\00:14:17.21 is that just exactly what you said. 00:14:17.24\00:14:19.27 He is with you, staying with you 00:14:19.30\00:14:21.15 even when you turning your back against Him. 00:14:21.18\00:14:25.14 There is a verse in the Bible, 00:14:25.17\00:14:26.20 I'm gonna paraphrase it that Jesus died for us 00:14:26.23\00:14:28.51 while we were yet still sinners. 00:14:28.54\00:14:30.53 He, He did that ultimate price and we didn't even want it. 00:14:30.56\00:14:37.09 You know, we are much more content 00:14:37.12\00:14:39.08 what will we have here. 00:14:39.11\00:14:42.12 I understand that. 00:14:42.15\00:14:43.18 Yes, I'm sorry. That's okay. 00:14:43.21\00:14:44.33 I never use to get choked up 00:14:44.36\00:14:45.39 and now I get choked up all the time. 00:14:45.42\00:14:48.11 You know, when we think about what God has done for us 00:14:48.14\00:14:50.39 it should bring to our hearts 00:14:50.42\00:14:52.22 this deep sense of appreciation and gratitude 00:14:52.25\00:14:55.49 that it would move us some times. 00:14:55.52\00:14:57.35 And that's okay, that's okay to be moved. 00:14:57.38\00:14:59.26 But I know that some where along the way 00:14:59.29\00:15:00.58 in your journeys not rolling too far forward 00:15:00.61\00:15:05.76 the Lord brought you out of that life 00:15:05.79\00:15:07.48 and brought someone else into your life. 00:15:07.51\00:15:09.69 Oh, praise God. 00:15:09.72\00:15:11.20 Darah, may be you want to ask, may be you want to kind of 00:15:11.23\00:15:13.82 put something in here right now I say? 00:15:13.85\00:15:15.50 At what point did you meet Tony? 00:15:15.53\00:15:18.21 We met about four years ago 00:15:18.24\00:15:20.33 and I think we both knew right away 00:15:20.36\00:15:23.45 that we had been looking for someone 00:15:23.48\00:15:25.54 and that the, for me I felt it was the God 00:15:25.57\00:15:28.41 that God was bringing someone to me. 00:15:28.44\00:15:30.10 At that point Tony didn't have faith 00:15:30.13\00:15:32.08 and we were dating 00:15:32.11\00:15:34.23 and so when the question came from me, 00:15:34.26\00:15:36.09 do you know the Lord and he said no, 00:15:36.12\00:15:38.72 we had a crossroads. 00:15:38.75\00:15:40.07 Wow. And he started changing. 00:15:40.10\00:15:42.60 The Lord started and not because of me 00:15:42.63\00:15:45.08 but the Lord started touching his heart 00:15:45.11\00:15:47.24 and we often say of that, that I brought him to the Lord 00:15:47.27\00:15:51.35 and then he brought me to some specific truths. 00:15:51.38\00:15:53.61 Okay. So-- 00:15:53.64\00:15:54.68 Well, give us a peak into your background 00:15:54.71\00:15:57.00 because you know, God is putting 00:15:57.03\00:15:58.85 this is a family that God is putting together. 00:15:58.88\00:16:01.93 And Jackson is the great benefactor of, of God 00:16:01.96\00:16:05.82 this union that God has brought together. 00:16:05.85\00:16:07.54 But just kind of give us a peak into your, 00:16:07.57\00:16:09.56 into your journey. 00:16:09.59\00:16:11.60 Well, I was brought to the Lord when I was 15 from a friend 00:16:11.63\00:16:16.95 who had had some terrible trauma in her life 00:16:16.98\00:16:19.93 but she was so happy and I just thought, 00:16:19.96\00:16:22.53 you know, I want what she has. 00:16:22.56\00:16:24.62 And so I came to the Lord, but I didn't follow the Lord. 00:16:24.65\00:16:29.99 I came to the Lord was baptized and then lived my life away 00:16:30.02\00:16:33.04 from the Lord for very long time. 00:16:33.07\00:16:35.06 I didn't know the full extent 00:16:35.09\00:16:36.48 of what was giving her that peace, 00:16:36.51\00:16:38.18 you know, reading the word, praying to God, 00:16:38.21\00:16:41.38 I was just in church when I could be and-- 00:16:41.41\00:16:44.57 and so through some hard times 00:16:44.60\00:16:46.89 and some broken marriages. 00:16:46.92\00:16:50.50 I was a single mother and then when Tony came along, 00:16:50.53\00:16:54.50 he just was-- he was just a breath of fresh air 00:16:54.53\00:16:58.51 because I had never experience someone with, 00:16:58.54\00:17:02.82 even though he didn't know the Lord right away 00:17:02.85\00:17:06.07 he had responsibility, he had love for my son. 00:17:06.10\00:17:11.89 So I began to change and grow closer to Lord too. 00:17:11.92\00:17:15.42 So, the Lord really work us straight a lot 00:17:15.45\00:17:17.36 and bring us together I think. 00:17:17.39\00:17:19.21 Now the reason why I deicide to peak someone 00:17:19.24\00:17:21.38 into the background, lot of times 00:17:21.41\00:17:22.54 when people hear about some one going to ministry, 00:17:22.57\00:17:24.65 they say, yeah, surely. 00:17:24.68\00:17:26.21 Christians all their lives 00:17:26.24\00:17:27.27 they come from this prayed homes, 00:17:27.30\00:17:28.70 you know, probably Adventist schools all their lives, 00:17:28.73\00:17:31.11 you know, clean kids and never done anything wrong. 00:17:31.14\00:17:33.10 That's not the case. No. 00:17:33.13\00:17:34.61 God looks at us and as you said that text so beautiful, 00:17:34.64\00:17:38.33 in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us 00:17:38.36\00:17:41.37 and as a pastor, you know, that speaks volumes 00:17:41.40\00:17:43.50 because I know, that where I'm is not where I planed on being. 00:17:43.53\00:17:48.03 And as you mentioned at the beginning of the program, 00:17:48.06\00:17:49.52 at the top of the program you are in transition now, 00:17:49.55\00:17:52.56 from Albuquerque, New Mexico to New Guinea, 00:17:52.59\00:17:56.21 and I think next stop New Jerusalem. 00:17:56.24\00:17:59.22 I include that. Amen. 00:17:59.25\00:18:01.17 See, all these new things in your life. 00:18:01.20\00:18:02.68 New Mexico to New Guinea to and then I will say people 00:18:02.71\00:18:06.23 I'm from New York to New Jerusalem. 00:18:06.26\00:18:08.17 But I want to peak now into your life 00:18:08.20\00:18:10.59 because we're talking about piloting here 00:18:10.62\00:18:12.84 and while you are not a, presently a missionary pilot 00:18:12.87\00:18:16.79 having flown many missionary pilot 00:18:16.82\00:18:21.61 whatever phrase I like to use here, 00:18:21.64\00:18:23.24 missions you have a quite an extensive pilot background 00:18:23.27\00:18:27.56 just tell us about that. 00:18:27.59\00:18:30.59 I had been flying as a commercial pilot 00:18:30.62\00:18:31.96 for 17 or 18 years. 00:18:31.99\00:18:33.57 Ever since I was a lot younger to him I dreamed of flying, 00:18:33.60\00:18:36.93 ever since I was three or four years old 00:18:36.96\00:18:38.83 and when I was little I dream about 00:18:38.86\00:18:40.44 we would go to look out mountain 00:18:40.47\00:18:42.01 and I see the hand gliders and I go home 00:18:42.04\00:18:43.87 and I read the brochure and for years, 00:18:43.90\00:18:45.35 I would say how can I get $300 like to learn how to hand glide 00:18:45.38\00:18:47.83 and I was nine years old and that's. 00:18:47.86\00:18:49.60 So I just wanted to be in the air 00:18:49.63\00:18:51.88 and I have astigmatism in my left eye 00:18:51.91\00:18:55.62 and they said and I was told early on 00:18:55.65\00:18:57.15 well, you won't you, won't be pilot. 00:18:57.18\00:18:59.25 You won't be in the military 00:18:59.28\00:19:00.98 and I think that was a blessing. 00:19:01.01\00:19:02.23 I wasn't in military for sure while I not in a flying sense. 00:19:02.26\00:19:08.95 As I, as I got into collage, 00:19:08.98\00:19:13.16 I went to a small local state collage 00:19:13.19\00:19:15.86 and there is an airport in New Hampshire, 00:19:15.89\00:19:17.44 King New Hampshire and I want to start taking flying lessons. 00:19:17.47\00:19:20.66 And my mother helped me out for little bit of money 00:19:20.69\00:19:23.17 and from that point for next five years 00:19:23.20\00:19:26.00 I was working odd jobs and working at the airport 00:19:26.03\00:19:28.40 and just kind of built this career up 00:19:28.43\00:19:30.64 and I learned everything that what I could do 00:19:30.67\00:19:32.85 how to make a job out of flying an airplane 00:19:32.88\00:19:35.78 and I kind of narrowed it down to well, 00:19:35.81\00:19:38.33 most interesting type of flying looks like 00:19:38.36\00:19:40.12 may be flying in the airlines you, 00:19:40.15\00:19:41.99 get to go to training and work in simulators 00:19:42.02\00:19:44.20 and you know, looks very professional 00:19:44.23\00:19:46.59 and its got a pretty good schedule may be, 00:19:46.62\00:19:48.58 but I was, I was, I wasn't so much interested in the money 00:19:48.61\00:19:51.11 as I was just how that would be. 00:19:51.14\00:19:52.80 That all experience. Yeah, that experience. 00:19:52.83\00:19:55.10 And so God-- even though at this point my life, 00:19:55.13\00:20:00.07 I really was not living with the Lord at all. 00:20:00.10\00:20:02.37 I mean, not at all. 00:20:02.40\00:20:03.44 There were times later my life where I was praying to Lord 00:20:03.47\00:20:06.58 as I started get experiencing some difficulties. 00:20:06.61\00:20:10.64 And I suppose I work my way up the typical civilian route, 00:20:10.67\00:20:15.13 you start out, you know, get all your experience 00:20:15.16\00:20:17.34 and you start teaching people to fly 00:20:17.37\00:20:18.98 you can build a little more flight time 00:20:19.01\00:20:20.96 and then you want to look for job, 00:20:20.99\00:20:22.33 where they, they will hire you 00:20:22.36\00:20:23.77 and still very low hours as a commercial pilot, 00:20:23.80\00:20:25.83 you find jobs flying banners. 00:20:25.86\00:20:27.33 I flew checks at night for a year 00:20:27.36\00:20:28.89 all through our New England every night. 00:20:28.92\00:20:30.33 What's checks? Bank checks. 00:20:30.36\00:20:32.05 Oh, bank checks. 00:20:32.08\00:20:33.11 These days, just over 1997, 98 00:20:33.14\00:20:38.16 it was still you actually had the, 00:20:38.19\00:20:39.73 there is a company that took checks 00:20:39.76\00:20:40.98 to the Federal Reserve that would-- 00:20:41.01\00:20:43.08 You had to be there at a certain time. 00:20:43.11\00:20:44.14 So it was just like a mini FedEx 00:20:44.17\00:20:45.64 that would fly these bank checks 00:20:45.67\00:20:46.85 all around the nation at night, 00:20:46.88\00:20:48.65 take smaller planes to bigger planes. 00:20:48.68\00:20:50.62 That was, you know, so I was that was 00:20:50.65\00:20:52.91 one of my first commercial jobs. 00:20:52.94\00:20:54.20 It was an all night deal every night. 00:20:54.23\00:20:55.87 Flying checks. 00:20:55.90\00:20:56.93 So you are the part of the check republic. 00:20:56.96\00:20:58.82 Well-- You plan it to do. 00:20:58.85\00:21:00.97 Yeah, could be and then went on from that, 00:21:01.00\00:21:07.28 you know, flying is its one of these careers 00:21:07.31\00:21:09.30 where you could do really well, 00:21:09.33\00:21:11.47 you could not be that great, you could do really well, 00:21:11.50\00:21:13.34 its just the right timing or you could be a great pilot 00:21:13.37\00:21:15.56 and you could never really succeed, 00:21:15.59\00:21:17.26 because you headed at the wrong time. 00:21:17.29\00:21:19.25 It is almost like riding away so to speak. 00:21:19.28\00:21:20.92 Yeah, exactly, exactly. 00:21:20.95\00:21:22.34 And there was a big wave at the end of 90's 00:21:22.37\00:21:24.97 and I was able to kind of one job after the other, 00:21:25.00\00:21:27.30 I never had a bad job. 00:21:27.33\00:21:29.05 It just kind of stair stepped up and up. 00:21:29.08\00:21:31.08 You know, took a lot of time and had to move a lot. 00:21:31.11\00:21:35.87 I remember when I went to my 10 year high school reunion, 00:21:35.90\00:21:38.72 my-- a teacher saw me and I was really excited. 00:21:38.75\00:21:43.80 I was so proud and I was, you see how you do? 00:21:43.83\00:21:45.86 What you're doing? I'm a pilot. 00:21:45.89\00:21:47.76 I work for such a-- 00:21:47.79\00:21:49.37 I'm sorry I touched the microphone. 00:21:49.40\00:21:50.62 I work for such and such airline 00:21:50.65\00:21:52.04 and the first thing he said to me is, 00:21:52.07\00:21:53.55 oh, that sound like a family job, is it? 00:21:53.58\00:21:55.87 You know, my-- I was off the air. 00:21:55.90\00:21:57.91 My bubble just burst, you know, 00:21:57.94\00:21:59.25 I couldn't, I couldn't-- 00:21:59.28\00:22:03.47 Couldn't recover from that comment at the time. 00:22:03.50\00:22:04.98 Yeah, yeah, and but you know, what he was right. 00:22:05.01\00:22:08.09 Its not-- and you know, in some situations 00:22:08.12\00:22:10.09 its not in the best family job because you can be gone, 00:22:10.12\00:22:12.70 you may be moving a lot you know, 00:22:12.73\00:22:14.53 I was moving to a different area 00:22:14.56\00:22:16.65 to get a better job. 00:22:16.68\00:22:18.27 But God did bless, that was He allowed me 00:22:18.30\00:22:21.61 to go from there to working for US Air Express for seven years 00:22:21.64\00:22:26.40 and then on to a larger company. 00:22:26.43\00:22:30.43 That's where things started to change. 00:22:30.46\00:22:32.02 Wow. 00:22:32.05\00:22:33.41 So the schedules increased tremendously 00:22:33.44\00:22:35.35 and the demands increased. 00:22:35.38\00:22:37.74 They could it just depends what your seniority is. 00:22:37.77\00:22:40.01 If you are, if you have fairly very good seniority 00:22:40.04\00:22:41.97 you can hold a fairly good schedule. 00:22:42.00\00:22:45.04 You know, and from most of my life 00:22:45.07\00:22:46.76 I really, I wasn't trying to honor the Lord 00:22:46.79\00:22:48.62 so schedule didn't matter. 00:22:48.65\00:22:50.27 And once the Lord came into my life schedule 00:22:50.30\00:22:52.94 became a completely different thing. 00:22:52.97\00:22:55.38 And so when you met Darah, am I saying it correctly? 00:22:55.41\00:22:58.00 Yes. 00:22:58.03\00:22:59.79 Were you still connected to these, 00:22:59.82\00:23:02.22 anyone of these flying jobs? 00:23:02.25\00:23:05.68 That's a, that's a loose phrase there, flying job 00:23:05.71\00:23:08.06 is I'm trying to honor that you did mentioned the airline, 00:23:08.09\00:23:11.79 but was he flying when you met him? 00:23:11.82\00:23:15.05 He was flying and which worked out wonderfully 00:23:15.08\00:23:17.82 because I lived in Tennessee 00:23:17.85\00:23:20.16 and he could come and visit whenever he wanted to. 00:23:20.19\00:23:23.94 So that was with the schedules he had at the time, 00:23:23.97\00:23:26.71 it was a huge blessing because you know, 00:23:26.74\00:23:29.42 it might take many people, many, many years 00:23:29.45\00:23:30.98 to get to know each other, 00:23:31.01\00:23:32.04 we got to know each other much quicker 00:23:32.07\00:23:33.90 because of the availability, 00:23:33.93\00:23:35.69 Okay, that was good. 00:23:35.72\00:23:37.34 So you are not really afraid of flying? 00:23:37.37\00:23:39.14 I could just use that phrase loosely. 00:23:39.17\00:23:41.30 No, no. 00:23:41.33\00:23:42.36 More comfortable than an airplane 00:23:42.39\00:23:43.54 that I'm standing on a little like 00:23:43.57\00:23:46.00 a 20 foot staircase looking down, you know. 00:23:46.03\00:23:48.32 And just to put the qualifications together 00:23:48.35\00:23:50.02 we are not talking about your limitation 00:23:50.05\00:23:51.65 being a Cessna 210 or a Cessna 182, 00:23:51.68\00:23:54.38 but you flew actually jets. 00:23:54.41\00:23:57.74 For several years I have, 00:23:57.77\00:23:58.91 I have several in positions, yeah. 00:23:58.94\00:24:00.84 Like some of-- just because I'm flight enthusiast, 00:24:00.87\00:24:03.55 I just love that, just kind of give me some, 00:24:03.58\00:24:05.65 hear me come some-- 00:24:05.68\00:24:07.16 what are the types of airlines like, seven-- 00:24:07.19\00:24:10.21 Yeah, well, lot of us now are gonna be-- 00:24:10.24\00:24:12.48 if you go to the airport, 00:24:12.51\00:24:13.54 you gonna fly in the smaller jet. 00:24:13.57\00:24:14.81 So I was in the regional airline industries, 00:24:14.84\00:24:17.15 so I have flew a CRJ200 and 700, 50 seats, 00:24:17.18\00:24:20.07 70 seat regional jet for couple of years. 00:24:20.10\00:24:22.85 And when I went to their larger cargo airline 00:24:22.88\00:24:25.84 I was a flight engineer on 727. 00:24:25.87\00:24:28.34 All the aircraft and at that point 00:24:28.37\00:24:31.17 you actually come out the pilot seat 00:24:31.20\00:24:32.36 and you know, you just running the gauges. 00:24:32.39\00:24:33.65 Its like, it's like you are in a time warp 00:24:33.68\00:24:35.19 that goes back 50 years 00:24:35.22\00:24:36.26 you're looking at this all piece of equipment-- 00:24:36.29\00:24:37.95 727. 00:24:37.98\00:24:39.01 Yeah, but it's-- Workhorse. 00:24:39.04\00:24:41.06 It is, it has, 00:24:41.09\00:24:42.48 and so I got to sit there for quite of few years 00:24:42.51\00:24:44.84 but I had good schedule so I stayed right there. 00:24:44.87\00:24:46.92 It allowed me to do what I wanted to do in my life. 00:24:46.95\00:24:48.86 I could have a week on, week off, 00:24:48.89\00:24:50.70 it was a good schedule so and the last couple of years 00:24:50.73\00:24:54.34 I was in a 757 in the right seat as a co-pilot. 00:24:54.37\00:24:58.09 Okay, yeah, I like this 757's. 00:24:58.12\00:25:00.28 I just like that getup and go it has. 00:25:00.31\00:25:02.10 It does. It goes up like an elevator. 00:25:02.13\00:25:04.10 It's the airplane that you want to be in. 00:25:04.13\00:25:07.28 I tell you after about my joys of flying 00:25:07.31\00:25:09.44 but this is your program. 00:25:09.47\00:25:11.13 Tell me at what point the transition of phase 00:25:11.16\00:25:13.85 because you go from flying in the mists of heaven, 00:25:13.88\00:25:16.93 you know, really I'm looking at the three angels messages here, 00:25:16.96\00:25:19.20 now God is preparing you for to proclaim a message 00:25:19.23\00:25:21.73 that is flying in the mists of heaven. 00:25:21.76\00:25:23.39 Tell me about that transition, 00:25:23.42\00:25:24.81 where the Lord took you from that 00:25:24.84\00:25:26.09 and began to put in to your heart 00:25:26.12\00:25:28.66 this desire to kind of move your life 00:25:28.69\00:25:31.12 in a different direction? 00:25:31.15\00:25:32.18 Absolutely, that's a pretty big question, 00:25:32.21\00:25:33.93 so please help me here guide me along 00:25:33.96\00:25:36.24 if I get off course here. 00:25:36.27\00:25:37.94 But like I say, it started about 00:25:37.97\00:25:39.45 late about four years ago, 00:25:39.48\00:25:40.68 you know, through that through that period 00:25:40.71\00:25:41.91 before that where I was mentioning earlier 00:25:41.94\00:25:44.29 that I prayed to the Lord but there was-- 00:25:44.32\00:25:47.15 because I would hit deep parts of depression in my life, 00:25:47.18\00:25:49.57 you know, I would just anything calling out, calling out 00:25:49.60\00:25:52.90 but I have lot of sin in my life 00:25:52.93\00:25:54.30 that was kind of blocking me 00:25:54.33\00:25:56.65 from fully connecting with the Lord. 00:25:56.68\00:25:58.21 He would reach out to me but I would turn from Him, 00:25:58.24\00:26:00.26 as soon as I was done praying 00:26:00.29\00:26:01.47 and get right back in the lifestyle, 00:26:01.50\00:26:02.86 I was at, you know, that the next hour. 00:26:02.89\00:26:05.77 And so for a while I had, I had told, 00:26:05.80\00:26:11.89 I was looking to meet somebody to 00:26:11.92\00:26:16.98 that would may do the types of things 00:26:17.01\00:26:18.69 that I was doing. 00:26:18.72\00:26:19.98 And when I met my wife, 00:26:20.01\00:26:22.18 I always told myself in my mind said, 00:26:22.21\00:26:24.04 you know, you may have to change 00:26:24.07\00:26:25.75 what you are doing in your life. 00:26:25.78\00:26:27.42 You have to give up some of the your passions 00:26:27.45\00:26:29.58 and lifestyle things that you live for 00:26:29.61\00:26:31.76 if you meet the right person, if you ever really want to be, 00:26:31.79\00:26:34.71 you know, find the right person. 00:26:34.74\00:26:38.17 And when I met Darah she was just although, 00:26:38.20\00:26:42.59 although her lifestyle was different than my lifestyle, 00:26:42.62\00:26:45.39 I saw something in her that you know, 00:26:45.42\00:26:47.94 I just I wanted in my life. 00:26:47.97\00:26:51.00 She had peace, she was happy, 00:26:51.03\00:26:53.64 she was sincere 00:26:53.67\00:26:55.45 and she has a sense of adventure like 00:26:55.48\00:26:57.43 we both have a sense of adventure. 00:26:57.46\00:26:58.69 Hand gliders. 00:26:58.72\00:27:00.07 She done it a few times yeah, that how we met actually 00:27:00.10\00:27:03.64 and so as Darah said earlier she had asked me that question 00:27:03.67\00:27:08.59 and she sees that, are you Christian? 00:27:08.62\00:27:10.61 I said, well I grew up as a Christian 00:27:10.64\00:27:11.81 but, no, I'm not living as Christian. 00:27:11.84\00:27:14.21 And I want Darah to chime in on that 00:27:14.24\00:27:15.83 because you get this intersection 00:27:15.86\00:27:18.05 and I briefly asked you, how did you guys meet? 00:27:18.08\00:27:20.25 You said it was how you met, online? 00:27:20.28\00:27:24.07 Right, we did. In that profile. 00:27:24.10\00:27:26.80 We met online and it was, 00:27:26.83\00:27:29.79 it was a fitness site for people 00:27:29.82\00:27:31.62 who were interested in adventure activities. 00:27:31.65\00:27:35.07 And so Tony was very big into hand gliding 00:27:35.10\00:27:38.64 and had flown so low, I had not 00:27:38.67\00:27:41.55 but was running out of things to check 00:27:41.58\00:27:43.47 and I had checked hand gliding 00:27:43.50\00:27:45.14 because I had taken one flight tandem. 00:27:45.17\00:27:47.66 You know, I didn't jump off by myself 00:27:47.69\00:27:49.55 but when he went to search for a female 00:27:49.58\00:27:52.82 that might be interested in hand gliding 00:27:52.85\00:27:54.29 as he was he only came with three 00:27:54.32\00:27:55.99 and all of the eastern US. 00:27:56.02\00:27:58.70 That's a quick narrow down. 00:27:58.73\00:27:59.78 Right, God just narrow down the choices for him. 00:27:59.81\00:28:02.67 For what he didn't know is your connection with God. 00:28:02.70\00:28:04.92 That's right. Okay. 00:28:04.95\00:28:06.46 And so that has now we talked about this briefly 00:28:06.49\00:28:09.29 but the Lord is still working in your life. 00:28:09.32\00:28:12.88 Bring you to that place where He knows you are going to be. 00:28:12.91\00:28:15.79 Yeah. Amen. 00:28:15.82\00:28:16.85 Now what I want to do 00:28:16.88\00:28:17.91 because we have this seven minute roll, 00:28:17.94\00:28:19.57 I want you to get us ready for that. 00:28:19.60\00:28:21.38 What are we about to see? 00:28:21.41\00:28:23.44 Okay, this is a video about friends 00:28:23.47\00:28:29.73 that we have made in that Gary and Toni Lewis. 00:28:29.76\00:28:32.29 It's about the beginning of their mission work 00:28:32.32\00:28:34.79 in Papua New Guinea in the north, 00:28:34.82\00:28:37.75 western part where there is 00:28:37.78\00:28:38.84 not a lot of mission activity going on. 00:28:38.87\00:28:41.67 And my wife made the video for them 00:28:41.70\00:28:44.51 and it will as we got to meet them 00:28:44.54\00:28:47.72 we got to see what they were doing. 00:28:47.75\00:28:49.85 God had led different missionaries into our lives, 00:28:49.88\00:28:52.39 to kind of show us what it was like. 00:28:52.42\00:28:54.96 And so we got involve with them 00:28:54.99\00:28:56.76 a little bit by helping to help them in things 00:28:56.79\00:29:00.48 that we might be able to help them with. 00:29:00.51\00:29:02.04 Darah was really excited to help them with making video 00:29:02.07\00:29:05.32 and we just want to share it so, 00:29:05.35\00:29:08.84 our audience could see what this, 00:29:08.87\00:29:11.14 this particular mission is about? 00:29:11.17\00:29:13.33 A preview into where you headed actually. 00:29:13.36\00:29:15.21 Sure. Okay, enjoy. 00:29:15.24\00:29:16.77 A land where things can change rapidly and suddenly, 00:29:45.51\00:29:48.64 Papua New Guinea has aptly been named land of the unexpected. 00:29:48.67\00:29:52.58 With lush jungles, rivers and ocean shores 00:29:52.61\00:29:55.34 this is a country full of beauty, 00:29:55.37\00:29:57.38 however it is also a country riddled with struggles. 00:29:57.41\00:30:00.69 And the Sandaun Province of Papua New Guinea 00:30:00.72\00:30:03.25 in the northwest corner 00:30:03.28\00:30:04.47 lay some of the most remote areas of the country. 00:30:04.50\00:30:07.59 In this region are thousands of small villages 00:30:07.62\00:30:10.17 that are inaccessible except by 25 hour canoe trip 00:30:10.20\00:30:13.49 up the Sepik River or by air. 00:30:13.52\00:30:15.94 These areas are plagued with low literacy rates, 00:30:15.97\00:30:18.71 extremely low income levels due to lack of resources 00:30:18.74\00:30:21.66 and commerce opportunities and health of the people here 00:30:21.69\00:30:24.92 remains poor from lack health workers 00:30:24.95\00:30:27.49 and access to healthcare. 00:30:27.52\00:30:29.45 From years past there are many 00:30:34.27\00:30:35.93 airstrips scattered about this region 00:30:35.96\00:30:38.12 but currently only about a quarter of those 00:30:38.15\00:30:40.35 are in operation today due to lack of funding 00:30:40.38\00:30:43.33 and economical air transportation. 00:30:43.36\00:30:45.78 However just beyond the town of Vanimo 00:30:45.81\00:30:48.20 pass the mountains to the south -- Valley 00:30:48.23\00:30:50.93 which leads to Bewani. 00:30:50.96\00:30:52.65 In Bewani is an airstrip. 00:30:52.68\00:30:54.72 It is the closest airstrip to the upper Sepik region 00:30:54.75\00:30:57.75 that is accessible by road and is where the jungle mission 00:30:57.78\00:31:01.29 aviation project will setup base operations. 00:31:01.32\00:31:04.78 From there they will be able to reach out to the remote areas 00:31:04.81\00:31:08.07 and provide not only emergency evacuations 00:31:08.10\00:31:10.48 but also take in medical supplies, 00:31:10.51\00:31:13.14 medical personal and then Bible workers. 00:31:13.17\00:31:16.83 Need here is great. 00:31:45.74\00:31:48.28 We have talked with the provisional 00:31:48.31\00:31:50.96 health director here who is the director 00:31:50.99\00:31:53.94 for the whole state of Sandaun Province 00:31:53.97\00:31:58.43 and he is excited that we are here 00:31:58.46\00:32:00.13 because he has many health posts 00:32:00.16\00:32:02.55 that he has no way of reaching, 00:32:02.58\00:32:05.42 other than somebody packing in supplies 00:32:05.45\00:32:08.32 for several days walk or via canoe. 00:32:08.35\00:32:12.24 And thanks yesterday he was telling us 00:32:12.27\00:32:14.18 that half of the aid stations or clinics 00:32:14.21\00:32:17.98 that he is in-charge of do not even have an airstrip. 00:32:18.01\00:32:23.41 But could be made accessible to helicopter 00:32:23.44\00:32:26.36 if we had helicopter here to work with us 00:32:26.39\00:32:30.32 but, he did make it very clear 00:32:30.35\00:32:32.84 and so did the district administrator of that 00:32:32.87\00:32:35.61 once there is a plane here and its flying 00:32:35.64\00:32:38.36 they will do everything possible 00:32:38.39\00:32:39.89 to encourage people to get the airstrips opened up. 00:32:39.92\00:32:43.37 The government has some funds to help with that 00:32:43.40\00:32:45.35 to get the strips opened to make an accessible 00:32:45.38\00:32:49.21 and to keep it maintained. 00:32:49.24\00:32:51.18 And they are just exited that somebody is willing to come 00:32:51.21\00:32:53.92 and help in these areas. 00:32:53.95\00:32:55.75 The district administrator-- 00:32:55.78\00:32:58.40 the provincial health worker the day he was here 00:32:58.43\00:33:01.82 did mention that that day he had a request 00:33:01.85\00:33:05.54 for two Medivax from remote villages 00:33:05.57\00:33:08.33 but there was nobody to go get them, no airplane to go. 00:33:08.36\00:33:11.85 There are some planes that do some flights for them, 00:33:11.88\00:33:15.23 they are very expensive 00:33:15.26\00:33:16.48 and so they can't do too many of them 00:33:16.51\00:33:19.63 and often they are not available to go do that. 00:33:19.66\00:33:22.36 So he is excited about the possibility 00:33:22.39\00:33:24.76 that there would be actually some air support 00:33:24.79\00:33:27.34 that's focused on health for the region. 00:33:27.37\00:33:31.48 And we spoke with some, some of the medics 00:33:31.51\00:33:34.81 from the Sepik area further south of us 00:33:34.84\00:33:38.23 and they are excited to have us 00:33:38.26\00:33:40.69 come in to the May River, Ama area 00:33:40.72\00:33:43.60 and help some of those villagers there 00:33:43.63\00:33:45.50 with air support. 00:33:45.53\00:33:47.02 We can put house up, we can hanger up, 00:33:47.05\00:33:50.81 get things fixed up so we can bring the plane in 00:33:50.84\00:33:52.70 and begin flight operations. 00:33:52.73\00:33:54.39 Get some trans-- some communication. 00:33:54.42\00:33:55.90 And we have to have transportation 00:33:55.93\00:33:58.14 and there is a problem of communication 00:33:58.17\00:34:00.73 and water and power. 00:34:00.76\00:34:03.71 So there's lot's of things to work on, 00:34:03.74\00:34:06.48 we have lot's of needs for people 00:34:06.51\00:34:08.19 who would like to come down and help. 00:34:08.22\00:34:10.13 And if they can't come financial help 00:34:10.16\00:34:12.53 of course is greatly needed things 00:34:12.56\00:34:14.40 are extremely expensive here, 00:34:14.43\00:34:16.64 but we have seen that God is able to provide 00:34:16.67\00:34:20.28 what is needed, when is needed. 00:34:20.31\00:34:22.42 The people here have brought us food 00:34:22.45\00:34:25.76 more than we can eat sometime-- 00:34:25.79\00:34:27.01 Just been overly generous, 00:34:27.04\00:34:28.43 they are excited to be a part of the program. 00:34:28.46\00:34:30.60 The laypeople here, the lay church workers 00:34:30.63\00:34:33.79 are excited to go out in the bush 00:34:33.82\00:34:35.64 and do evangelism. 00:34:35.67\00:34:37.29 They want to do education, 00:34:37.32\00:34:38.42 they want to reach their people. 00:34:38.45\00:34:40.36 And so they are excited that we are here 00:34:40.39\00:34:42.80 to help them accomplish that 00:34:42.83\00:34:44.83 and are joining the team just to, to be a part of it. 00:34:44.86\00:34:48.50 My name is Pastor Gamu Digara, 00:34:48.53\00:34:51.77 I work at the local mission here in Sepik Mission 00:34:51.80\00:34:55.46 as a personal ministry and Sabbath school director. 00:34:55.49\00:34:58.41 Geographically Sepik Mission is very big. 00:34:58.44\00:35:03.39 We have Sepik around the coast, 00:35:03.42\00:35:06.29 we have in land and then we Sepik, 00:35:06.32\00:35:09.35 mighty Sepik River and upper Sepik River 00:35:09.38\00:35:11.90 where we have so many people 00:35:11.93\00:35:14.84 who needs the gospel to be spread to them 00:35:14.87\00:35:22.46 and then they need to know about Jesus Christ. 00:35:22.49\00:35:25.74 It's very big the wick is very, very big 00:35:25.77\00:35:28.32 and without service here 00:35:28.35\00:35:30.55 we don't have enough, enough manpower 00:35:30.58\00:35:34.17 and we need people outside to come and help us, 00:35:34.20\00:35:39.95 I believe by then we should all be ready 00:35:39.98\00:35:41.92 to meet the Lord Jesus when He comes. 00:35:41.95\00:35:45.05 So despite all the obstacles, despite all the mountains 00:35:45.08\00:35:50.17 that are in the way, 00:35:50.20\00:35:52.43 there is a lot of good things happening, 00:35:52.46\00:35:53.88 there is a lot of enthusiasm. 00:35:53.91\00:35:55.72 And so as we just press forward a day at a time 00:35:55.75\00:35:59.38 and see how God continues to open doors, 00:35:59.41\00:36:01.55 how He is gonna send us 00:36:01.58\00:36:02.61 the right help at the right time. 00:36:02.64\00:36:04.62 But the harvest is ready, 00:36:04.65\00:36:06.53 we just looking for a few reapers 00:36:06.56\00:36:07.79 that are willing to come and serve the Lord 00:36:07.82\00:36:10.51 in this part of the world. 00:36:10.54\00:36:11.87 As you can see New Guinea is place of mystery 00:36:48.42\00:36:51.10 as well as a lot of mission 00:36:51.13\00:36:53.22 and what you just saw was very significant to Tony 00:36:53.25\00:36:57.31 and that he cooperated with the couple 00:36:57.34\00:36:59.87 and the ministry that was highlighted 00:36:59.90\00:37:02.85 so that they could participate in their pilot missionary work. 00:37:02.88\00:37:07.41 Tell us about that because 00:37:07.44\00:37:09.25 that plane wasn't waiting for them. 00:37:09.28\00:37:10.69 I want you to kind of in a nutshell summarize 00:37:10.72\00:37:13.28 how that plane got there actually? 00:37:13.31\00:37:15.08 Sure. 00:37:15.11\00:37:16.14 Well, the Lord work in many different miracles 00:37:16.17\00:37:18.25 to have the airplane, they had to take to-- 00:37:18.28\00:37:20.02 disassemble the airplane in Arizona 00:37:20.05\00:37:21.86 put in a container, it was shipped overseas, 00:37:21.89\00:37:25.37 a company donated the shipping cost 00:37:25.40\00:37:29.81 and so its like 15 to $20,000 feat 00:37:29.84\00:37:32.21 but the closet thing they can get to is the Guam. 00:37:32.24\00:37:34.04 So we had to get the airplane from Guam to Papua New Guinea. 00:37:34.07\00:37:36.62 Guam is about 1,100 miles over the ocean 00:37:36.65\00:37:39.56 from Papua New Guinea. 00:37:39.59\00:37:41.43 So we had to reassemble it and fly it. 00:37:41.46\00:37:43.06 Our friends the Lewis Gary said 00:37:43.09\00:37:45.88 would be interested in flying the airplane over for me? 00:37:45.91\00:37:48.41 And I thought that's a great adventure 00:37:48.44\00:37:50.69 but Darah was not so excited about it. 00:37:50.72\00:37:54.09 And we had just a series of miracles 00:37:54.12\00:37:55.97 that the Lord provided so that we could actually help them 00:37:56.00\00:37:58.56 bring the airplane over. 00:37:58.59\00:38:00.24 Darah, why weren't you excited about that? 00:38:00.27\00:38:03.04 Well, I'm not as knowledgably in flying as Tony is obviously 00:38:03.07\00:38:07.64 but I do know enough to know that a single engine plane, 00:38:07.67\00:38:10.04 1,100 miles over the ocean and sharks 00:38:10.07\00:38:12.97 and what not you know, as a wife it didn't sound, 00:38:13.00\00:38:16.99 it didn't sound as exciting to me 00:38:17.02\00:38:18.69 as it excited to him so-- 00:38:18.72\00:38:19.99 Yeah, adventures to him but cautious to you. 00:38:20.02\00:38:22.61 And I had prayed, I had asked the Lord, 00:38:22.64\00:38:25.43 I said Lord, we can't do this 00:38:25.46\00:38:27.63 and because we were gonna owe some money to be 00:38:27.66\00:38:29.76 able to do this and we prayed 00:38:29.79\00:38:32.23 and we cleared the Lord sent us the exact amount of money 00:38:32.26\00:38:34.92 that would have taken to do this. 00:38:34.95\00:38:36.26 So that's when I was on board. 00:38:36.29\00:38:38.06 And so now just give me a peak into this journey 00:38:38.09\00:38:41.61 because I know what a Cessna 182 is, 00:38:41.64\00:38:44.94 you know, having flown in one that you know 00:38:44.97\00:38:47.65 that is quite a distance, when you think of 00:38:47.68\00:38:49.32 wow, if I want to, if need to land, 00:38:49.35\00:38:53.03 let me see what's the depth of the ocean before, below me. 00:38:53.06\00:38:56.75 Right, it could only fly so far 00:38:56.78\00:38:58.40 but it did have enough fuel on board 00:38:58.43\00:38:59.91 to take us a pretty long distance. 00:38:59.94\00:39:01.35 It couldn't go straight across 00:39:01.38\00:39:02.69 the 1,100 miles straight journey 00:39:02.72\00:39:04.02 so we kind of had, kind of island hub, 00:39:04.05\00:39:06.44 we could actually do with just one landing. 00:39:06.47\00:39:08.61 And so we-- the first like we flew 600 miles 00:39:08.64\00:39:10.97 I say we the Lord and I, the Lord flew with me 00:39:11.00\00:39:14.71 and 600 miles the first day, 00:39:14.74\00:39:17.23 the next day was about 900 miles. 00:39:17.26\00:39:20.71 And you here, here you are 00:39:20.74\00:39:21.99 but now so they have their ministry 00:39:22.02\00:39:24.64 because of God opening the doors really 00:39:24.67\00:39:28.19 and providing whatever you financially needed. 00:39:28.22\00:39:30.97 The skill that the Lord had prepared you 00:39:31.00\00:39:33.22 with was already in place, 00:39:33.25\00:39:34.60 but then it takes a lot of faith 00:39:34.63\00:39:35.66 to accept a mission like that. 00:39:35.69\00:39:37.85 It was a great faith building experience 00:39:37.88\00:39:39.77 because there were things after the first flight things 00:39:39.80\00:39:42.05 didn't work out very well. 00:39:42.08\00:39:43.11 The radio didn't work, 00:39:43.14\00:39:44.17 the plane got diverted, at the island 00:39:44.20\00:39:46.09 I was landing at causing the president of the island 00:39:46.12\00:39:48.50 to be delayed three hours or so. 00:39:48.53\00:39:50.09 There's a hundreds of people at the airport waiting there 00:39:50.12\00:39:51.47 and I when got there its a small island. 00:39:51.50\00:39:53.14 They said, you know what happened? 00:39:53.17\00:39:54.20 I said no. 00:39:54.23\00:39:55.26 They said you made the airplane with the president turn around 00:39:55.29\00:39:56.99 because they couldn't get a hold of you on the radio. 00:39:57.02\00:39:59.28 And I was thinking oh, no, you know, I'm done. 00:39:59.31\00:40:01.54 They are gonna violate me 00:40:01.57\00:40:02.64 for this braking this rule and that rule. 00:40:02.67\00:40:03.92 How we're gonna fly the airplane tomorrow? 00:40:03.95\00:40:05.84 The next day the airplane was going slower, 00:40:05.87\00:40:08.20 the next day came about it was, it was-- 00:40:08.23\00:40:10.53 when I woke it was thunder storm and raining 00:40:10.56\00:40:11.95 it's not where you want me to go flying. 00:40:11.98\00:40:14.21 And I called Darah, told all the problems. 00:40:14.24\00:40:15.97 She said you know, just like when the Israelites, 00:40:16.00\00:40:18.44 when they got through over Jordan 00:40:18.47\00:40:19.89 they had to step into the water for God to do something. 00:40:19.92\00:40:22.93 Until I was so, so thankful for her encouragement 00:40:22.96\00:40:26.08 because I was little discouraged, 00:40:26.11\00:40:28.53 and here kind of in the middle of the pacific 00:40:28.56\00:40:30.79 you know, and God was taking care of me the whole way 00:40:30.82\00:40:33.79 and that day He through a series 00:40:33.82\00:40:36.50 of one event after the other. 00:40:36.53\00:40:37.66 He just kept leading step by step 00:40:37.69\00:40:40.32 as I took off the radio worked the whole day, 00:40:40.35\00:40:42.65 the air speed that-- the tail wind 00:40:42.68\00:40:45.38 that I needed to get to my destination on time, 00:40:45.41\00:40:48.09 there was a long flight 00:40:48.12\00:40:49.22 and there was no really alternates 00:40:49.25\00:40:53.15 once you got close enough to that spot you know, 00:40:53.18\00:40:56.14 you had to make sure that as you got closer 00:40:56.17\00:40:58.69 to once you pass to last alternate-- 00:40:58.72\00:41:00.49 Point of no reaching. 00:41:00.52\00:41:01.55 Yeah, you are kind of going to where you going 00:41:01.58\00:41:04.29 but you know we were doing everything 00:41:04.32\00:41:06.18 as cautious as we could. 00:41:06.21\00:41:07.25 You know, we had all the safety gear 00:41:07.28\00:41:08.79 and a back up GPS, the weather was fantastic. 00:41:08.82\00:41:12.08 Man, when I have left Guam, 00:41:12.11\00:41:13.14 I have never seen the weather over Pacific look this good. 00:41:13.17\00:41:15.22 So everything like God was looking everything. 00:41:15.25\00:41:17.28 And that second day as I took off the air speed built up, 00:41:17.31\00:41:20.21 the radio worked just fine, 00:41:20.24\00:41:22.03 the weather was good the whole way, 00:41:22.06\00:41:23.95 I made it to our destination about an hour before sunset. 00:41:23.98\00:41:27.13 Praise the Lord. 00:41:27.16\00:41:28.19 And just on, just on time 00:41:28.22\00:41:30.07 and it was such a wonderful feeling. 00:41:30.10\00:41:31.93 We worked on that for about two months, 00:41:31.96\00:41:33.72 you know, like Lord, how is this gonna work out. 00:41:33.75\00:41:35.60 How are you-- I don't I never done this, 00:41:35.63\00:41:37.82 yeah, I fly airplanes over here, 00:41:37.85\00:41:39.39 but its totally different. 00:41:39.42\00:41:40.61 You know, a lot of people do all kinds of things for me. 00:41:40.64\00:41:43.35 And the Lord was saying to you, 00:41:43.38\00:41:44.41 I'll pot the water when you get to it, 00:41:44.44\00:41:45.87 I'm not gonna do before that time. 00:41:45.90\00:41:47.05 Exactly, exactly. 00:41:47.08\00:41:48.11 So now take us to the transitioning point 00:41:48.14\00:41:50.28 and give us some inside into where you headed now. 00:41:50.31\00:41:52.62 We talked about lightly 00:41:52.65\00:41:54.89 you been to New Guinea to scouted out one time. 00:41:54.92\00:41:58.75 Tell us what we could, what we need to pray about 00:41:58.78\00:42:02.07 and what we need to partner with you on 00:42:02.10\00:42:04.21 as you prepare for this new beginning. 00:42:04.24\00:42:07.73 Well, we certainly appreciate the prayers for us 00:42:07.76\00:42:11.23 but we, our friend the Lewis they are looking for support. 00:42:11.26\00:42:18.15 Anybody that's interested in mission 00:42:18.18\00:42:20.19 or would like to help spread the gospel 00:42:20.22\00:42:22.09 in that part of the world, 00:42:22.12\00:42:24.38 they are looking for others to come out there 00:42:24.41\00:42:26.27 to partner with them to work. 00:42:26.30\00:42:27.74 If you have any type of skill 00:42:27.77\00:42:29.75 or no skill at all just to willingness 00:42:29.78\00:42:31.47 that you want to serve a God 00:42:31.50\00:42:33.08 and that then that something about this touches your heart. 00:42:33.11\00:42:36.96 They are specifically they are in need 00:42:36.99\00:42:38.53 of another pilot and a mechanic, 00:42:38.56\00:42:40.28 an aircraft mechanic to work where there are at. 00:42:40.31\00:42:43.64 Okay, and so now when you go to New Guinea 00:42:43.67\00:42:47.36 which, which organization are you gonna be working with? 00:42:47.39\00:42:50.62 Well, we are going to work with Adventist Aviation Services, 00:42:50.65\00:42:54.56 it's a different organization than the Lewis have. 00:42:54.59\00:43:00.28 It is a mission that works in a slightly 00:43:00.31\00:43:02.45 lower part of the country, different part of the country, 00:43:02.48\00:43:04.33 doesn't quite reach up as far as 00:43:04.36\00:43:05.81 where there are at all the time 00:43:05.84\00:43:07.94 and but it's a very establish mission. 00:43:07.97\00:43:09.73 Its been there for about 50 years 00:43:09.76\00:43:11.87 and I will be-- they have two aircrafts right now 00:43:11.90\00:43:15.19 and I will be there as one of their pilots 00:43:15.22\00:43:18.28 learning to fly in that environment 00:43:18.31\00:43:20.53 and using the airplane to drop off supplies 00:43:20.56\00:43:22.84 and commodities for all the villages 00:43:22.87\00:43:25.06 that don't have roadways. 00:43:25.09\00:43:26.12 Most of the villages in the mountains 00:43:26.15\00:43:27.27 don't have roadways. 00:43:27.30\00:43:28.71 So only way to get things in and out, 00:43:28.74\00:43:30.95 medevacing individuals that need medical attention 00:43:30.98\00:43:34.71 if they don't get to the hospital soon enough 00:43:34.74\00:43:36.05 there is there is no way get him their quick enough. 00:43:36.08\00:43:37.78 So the airplane is useful for that 00:43:37.81\00:43:39.82 and specially doing church work. 00:43:39.85\00:43:41.06 You know, flying pastors, 00:43:41.09\00:43:44.40 other missionaries to their locations, 00:43:44.43\00:43:46.78 Bible workers, so these are just a few of the things 00:43:46.81\00:43:50.77 that I will be able to do on there. 00:43:50.80\00:43:53.33 Now Darah, how are you helping to contribute to this mission 00:43:53.36\00:43:56.13 because I know you are not a pilot 00:43:56.16\00:43:57.99 but he surely is your husband, 00:43:58.02\00:43:59.38 are you planning on some of the mission trips with him? 00:43:59.41\00:44:03.58 Well, you know, because I haven't 00:44:03.61\00:44:05.35 an interest spirit that would be nice 00:44:05.38\00:44:07.10 but truly the Lord's working on my heart 00:44:07.13\00:44:08.94 to realize that the role I have in life 00:44:08.97\00:44:11.74 is important and young woman 00:44:11.77\00:44:13.21 it's sometimes hard for us to take the backseat 00:44:13.24\00:44:15.99 and it's not a backseat it's huge. 00:44:16.02\00:44:17.59 I'm a mother, I home school, 00:44:17.62\00:44:19.61 I make sure everything is gonna be functioning 00:44:19.64\00:44:22.82 and we are just excited to go 00:44:22.85\00:44:24.21 and just make friends for Jesus, 00:44:24.24\00:44:25.86 to go and meet people that we can just share 00:44:25.89\00:44:29.22 what little we do know, right from our home there. 00:44:29.25\00:44:32.11 So that's that is the mission 00:44:32.14\00:44:33.78 that God is given me wherever I'm at. 00:44:33.81\00:44:35.78 And you know, sometimes the Lord has, 00:44:35.81\00:44:37.26 He has done here for my wife when we first came to 3ABN 00:44:37.29\00:44:40.88 but she is doing now, she had no clue 00:44:40.91\00:44:42.26 that she never be participating in that. 00:44:42.29\00:44:44.15 And so as is the case of the Lord 00:44:44.18\00:44:45.72 opening the waters, parting the waters, 00:44:45.75\00:44:47.57 He will do that for you too when you get to New Guinea 00:44:47.60\00:44:50.25 and you will say God always saw that 00:44:50.28\00:44:52.29 this is what I would be involved in. 00:44:52.32\00:44:54.20 And Jackson, I tell you he is gonna be one of those 00:44:54.23\00:44:55.90 young adventurous young man in New Guinea 00:44:55.93\00:44:58.43 and he is gonna grow up with a lot mission stories. 00:44:58.46\00:45:00.79 God is gonna surely develop his life there. 00:45:00.82\00:45:03.19 But I know that those of this news break, 00:47:33.30\00:47:35.71 but once again Steve Darmody and his daughter Jaclyn Pruehs 00:47:35.74\00:47:38.78 is gonna sing a song for us in titled "Time" enjoy it. 00:47:38.81\00:47:43.10 If all the world's a stage 00:48:10.23\00:48:17.41 And life is but a page 00:48:17.44\00:48:24.37 How do we make it last? 00:48:24.40\00:48:31.42 The moments fly so fast 00:48:31.45\00:48:37.97 It's not for us to know 00:48:38.00\00:48:44.93 How long until we go 00:48:44.96\00:48:51.79 But while here on this earth 00:48:51.82\00:48:58.23 We must learn what time is worth 00:48:58.26\00:49:04.23 Time is too slow for those who wait 00:49:06.47\00:49:13.47 Time is to swift for those who fear 00:49:13.50\00:49:20.19 Time is too long for those who grieve 00:49:20.22\00:49:27.41 But for those who love and those who are loved 00:49:30.78\00:49:36.77 Time is eternity 00:49:36.80\00:49:41.00 Those who are loved like He loves me 00:49:45.82\00:49:52.44 And so the story goes 00:49:55.69\00:50:02.56 A tale of joy and woe 00:50:02.59\00:50:09.64 It's up to us to find 00:50:09.67\00:50:16.23 The reason and the rhyme 00:50:16.26\00:50:23.93 Time is too slow for those who wait 00:50:23.96\00:50:30.93 Time is to swift for those who fear 00:50:30.96\00:50:37.65 Time is too long for those who grieve 00:50:37.68\00:50:45.15 But for those who love 00:50:48.38\00:50:50.91 Those who are loved 00:50:50.94\00:50:56.11 Time is on our side 00:50:56.14\00:50:58.16 Time is on our side 00:50:58.19\00:50:59.62 Like the ocean wide 00:50:59.65\00:51:01.32 Like the ocean wide 00:51:01.35\00:51:02.98 A never ending wave upon our shore 00:51:03.01\00:51:09.41 And where our heart begin 00:51:09.44\00:51:11.41 And where our heart begin 00:51:11.44\00:51:12.80 And when our lives will end 00:51:12.83\00:51:15.07 When our lives will end 00:51:15.10\00:51:16.53 It doesn't really matter anymore 00:51:16.56\00:51:22.40 Time is too long for those who grieve 00:51:32.49\00:51:40.09 But for those who love 00:51:43.79\00:51:46.50 And those who are loved 00:51:46.53\00:51:50.88 Time is eternity 00:51:50.91\00:51:55.68 Those who are loved like you and me 00:52:01.16\00:52:07.93
