00:01 In trying to decide how I want to decorate
00:04 this year's holiday table, I was thinking you know,
00:08 we've been saying Jesus is the reason for the season.
00:12 So I wanted to decorate with things Jesus made
00:15 and think of nature.
00:18 So it may look complicated to you,
00:21 but it is very simple
00:22 and in fact, you know, next year
00:25 I may just start with a blank table
00:27 and show them how to do that.
00:29 Would you like that?
00:31 But for this, I took some old books
00:34 and I had some birdcages
00:36 and you don't have to match mine,
00:38 I mean I love birds
00:40 so I decorate my house with birds and birdcages
00:44 and in fact, I even have them hanging in my tree outside,
00:47 they did different of the trees.
00:49 So I took some birdcages
00:51 and I put a candle in a birdcage
00:54 and then I put some birds here, I took some old books
00:57 and I just put one on top of each other
01:00 and I just put a little Christmas tree on
01:02 and some birds and then I put another candle here,
01:07 then I took a larger birdcage and I put some trees in
01:12 and I put three angles for Three Angels Broadcasting.
01:16 We have to think of our home network here.
01:20 And also for more importantly the three angels message.
01:22 That's right.
01:24 And then I mirrored the image with the birds
01:29 since I had two birdcages, I decided I would mirror it
01:32 and do the same thing on the other side
01:34 but you don't have to do that.
01:37 In fact, last year I had all different kinds of lanterns
01:41 the naval lanterns that I used.
01:43 I remember that.
01:44 So nothing was alike,
01:46 so you don't have to have things alike
01:48 if you don't want to, I just happen to have that.
01:50 Just be creative too. Exactly.
01:51 And then I took greenery and I put greenery everywhere.
01:56 I happen this is silk, you can use real greenery.
02:00 You can go out and cut if you happen
02:02 to have an ivy bush
02:04 or you happen to have a tree or an evergreen tree.
02:08 You can cut some branches off of it
02:11 or in some leaves and spread that around
02:14 and I just put some berries here
02:17 and then I got some pinecones
02:18 and I put pinecones here and there and all over.
02:22 You can make it a Sabbath afternoon activity
02:24 just going around choosing in pinecones and berries
02:27 and things like that just as a family outing.
02:30 In fact, we did that as kids.
02:32 Yes, we did--
02:33 that's the reason I thought of it.
02:36 Because mom had us doing all.
02:39 That's right.
02:41 Mom did so much with nothing,
02:42 we grew up so dirt poor really we had nothing
02:46 and mom could make something out of nothing.
02:48 Right.
02:49 Mom is very artistic and so and very good
02:54 with coming up with crafts, she was very good at drawing.
02:57 She used to draw in church to keep us quiet.
03:00 We would after and we try and guess
03:02 what she was drawing, and she just sit there
03:03 and just draw while she is listening to the sermon.
03:06 But she is very good at crafts
03:08 and so we learned all kinds of really
03:12 new ways in creative things to do.
03:15 So also what I did was I love snow,
03:20 I mean I just love it.
03:22 I know some people don't love it.
03:24 Me. That would be me.
03:28 But I love it and so I took some snow
03:31 and I just sprinkled this,
03:34 yeah I didn't sprinkle real snow.
03:36 I thought-- why don't you guys
03:38 were catching me on that.
03:39 Well, I was getting ready to adjust me,
03:41 I was getting ready it's the fake stuff guys,
03:44 that's the reason it's not melting here.
03:46 I see, look I just took some fake snow
03:49 and I sprinkled it all over,
03:53 I sprinkled it all over everywhere
03:55 and it just kind of gives it a really nice feel to it
03:59 and look to it.
04:00 It glistened.
04:01 And you know one thing you know that Cinda's famous
04:03 for to is her take home gifts.
04:05 When you're guests at her house if at dinner,
04:08 she's always got a little take home gift at your plate.
04:11 I love that and I look forward to those little take homes
04:14 because she's so creative with that.
04:16 And I love what you did this year for--
04:18 and I think you're gonna want
04:19 to do the same in your home as well.
04:21 Well on an earlier program we--
04:24 I did a recipe called cake in a jar
04:28 and this is a cake in a jar
04:31 and its apple streusel cake
04:35 and actually it seals so this will last
04:40 at least a month this will last if it seals.
04:44 Show what that looks like.
04:45 So here's one like this and as you can see its indented
04:50 so that means its sealed
04:52 and so I'm gonna show you all I did is I took.
04:57 I'll hold that for you.
04:59 I took a piece of fabric
05:02 and actually hold, yeah fold that down
05:04 and then you can take some,
05:07 I took some just twine like ribbon and--
05:15 Tied it around. Tied it around.
05:17 You can wrap around twice if you want
05:20 and just tie a bow
05:21 and you can do your favorite fabric.
05:23 I mean this is just a really inexpensive burlap that I did
05:28 and each one of your guests
05:33 have a really nice-- yeah there's two of them.
05:37 Each one of your guests have a really nice take home gift.
05:42 Isn't that beautiful?
05:43 Yes, and--
05:44 I love it set it by your plate.
05:45 You can make these,
05:47 you know, several weeks ahead of time.
05:49 It really is awesome.
05:50 Well, let's take a look one more time
05:52 to some of the foods that we prepared today
05:54 just to give you an idea for your holiday table.
05:58 And we're gonna start with oh, Linda's cake.
06:02 Carrot delight cake.
06:03 That's right.
06:04 And creamy potato puffs.
06:07 And then we have our tofu turkey.
06:09 Oh, I can't wait for that. With all kinds of vegetable's.
06:11 You got your vegetables and your turkey right there
06:13 but there is not enough vegetables on that plate yet.
06:15 Because you can never have enough vegetables.
06:18 We have roasted root vegetables.
06:21 And you know let's leave you,
06:24 we would like to leave you with the special Bible verse.
06:26 One that we grow up with, one that we loved it,
06:29 we've even said and you know by heart as well.
06:31 Say it with us.
06:32 John 3:16, "For God so loved the world
06:36 that He gave His only begotten Son,
06:40 that whoever believeth in Him
06:42 should not perish but have everlasting life."
06:46 May all your holiday meals be seasoned with Gods love.
06:51 Bye, bye everybody.
