Where did we come from? 00:00:10.81\00:00:13.88 The Bible says, "In the beginning God created." 00:00:13.91\00:00:20.48 Evolution teaches the opposite. 00:00:20.52\00:00:22.52 No one created, it all happened by itself. 00:00:22.55\00:00:26.02 Which one is the truth? 00:00:26.05\00:00:30.09 This is Headquarters, 00:00:30.13\00:00:34.03 Doc M, 00:00:34.06\00:00:38.53 Jacqui, 00:00:38.57\00:00:40.94 and Rich, 00:00:40.97\00:00:44.71 their job, investigate and discover the truth. 00:00:44.74\00:00:48.38 This is The Creation Case. 00:00:52.15\00:00:55.52 Hi, Jacqui. 00:01:19.74\00:01:21.31 Hi, Doc M, anything new? 00:01:21.34\00:01:23.38 Yes, I just got an exciting email 00:01:23.41\00:01:28.38 with a new assignment for Rich. 00:01:28.42\00:01:29.92 Really cool, what is he investigating? 00:01:29.95\00:01:32.35 Well, look at the email. 00:01:32.39\00:01:34.06 Dear creation team, yesterday in school 00:01:34.09\00:01:38.06 my teacher showed us a drawing of the geologic column. 00:01:38.09\00:01:40.90 Fascinating. 00:01:40.93\00:01:42.26 It shows all the layers of dirt and rock under the ground. 00:01:42.30\00:01:45.33 My teacher says each of those layers 00:01:45.37\00:01:46.77 were put their millions of years ago 00:01:46.80\00:01:49.97 and there are millions of years of time 00:01:50.01\00:01:51.87 that passed between the layers. 00:01:51.91\00:01:53.54 He even told us the names of layers. 00:01:53.58\00:01:57.78 Can that stuff be true? 00:01:57.81\00:02:00.85 Thank you, Christina. 00:02:00.88\00:02:03.12 She's from Ooltewah, Tennessee. 00:02:03.15\00:02:05.59 Wow! Uh. 00:05:11.77\00:05:14.31 We look forward to getting your report. 00:05:14.34\00:05:17.15 Well, I better be careful putting my phone away. 00:05:17.18\00:05:20.65 Oh, something else. 00:05:20.68\00:05:23.72 Doc M also wanted you to read this joke. 00:05:23.75\00:05:27.92 Oh, that's great. 00:05:33.83\00:05:36.36 That was great. 00:05:36.40\00:05:41.80 By the way, 00:05:41.84\00:05:45.31 got message, 00:05:45.34\00:05:48.41 geologic column. 00:05:48.44\00:05:51.35 Hmm, geologic column? 00:05:54.42\00:05:57.25 Need to think about that one. 00:05:57.29\00:05:58.62 Actually, why don't I get down off this rock first? 00:06:02.02\00:06:04.76 All right, let's get this down in our journal, 00:06:14.54\00:06:20.24 geologic column. 00:06:20.28\00:06:25.08 All right, we need to go somewhere 00:06:25.11\00:06:26.92 where we can study the layers of the earth. 00:06:26.95\00:06:32.22 I know exactly where we can go. 00:06:32.25\00:06:34.29 We need to go to the Grand Canyon. 00:06:34.32\00:06:35.89 It's an incredible place. 00:06:35.92\00:06:37.26 So first of all, we need to get this gear off 00:06:37.29\00:06:39.43 and head back to the jeep. 00:06:39.46\00:06:40.80 Help us investigate today. 00:06:44.17\00:06:47.54 Download and print your own free journal study guide 00:06:47.57\00:06:50.61 at TheCreationCase.com. 00:06:50.64\00:06:54.28 I love coming to the Grand Canyon. 00:07:15.63\00:07:18.23 It's the best place to see the layers of the earth. 00:07:18.27\00:07:22.14 The water has washed away the edges of the Canyon, 00:07:22.17\00:07:24.91 revealing the layers and the different colors, 00:07:24.94\00:07:27.18 making them really easy to see. 00:07:27.21\00:07:29.44 Nice. 00:07:29.48\00:07:30.81 Here at the rim, 00:07:30.85\00:07:32.18 we are at about 7,000 feet above sea level. 00:07:32.21\00:07:34.92 And the bottom of the Canyon is about a mile down. 00:07:34.95\00:07:38.69 In order to get a good look at this canyon, 00:07:38.72\00:07:41.02 we need to climb down, 00:07:41.06\00:07:42.46 but first I think I'm gonna sketch this Canyon. 00:07:42.49\00:07:44.86 Amazing. 00:08:00.84\00:08:02.18 All right, come on. Let's head down. 00:08:02.21\00:08:04.31 The Grand Canyon is up to 70 miles across, 00:08:13.19\00:08:16.86 and about 270 miles long, and about a mile down. 00:08:16.89\00:08:22.83 This place really makes you feel small. 00:08:22.86\00:08:25.63 Under the ground, we can see layers. 00:08:37.81\00:08:41.12 These layers are called the geologic column. 00:08:41.15\00:08:45.75 This looks like rock. 00:08:45.79\00:08:47.12 But when these layers were put here originally, 00:08:47.16\00:08:49.49 they were actually soft like sand 00:08:49.52\00:08:51.86 and then afterwards they hardened. 00:08:51.89\00:08:55.06 Obviously, the bottom layers were deposited first 00:09:02.60\00:09:05.97 and then the next one up and so on. 00:09:06.01\00:09:07.88 The top layer is the most recent one. 00:09:07.91\00:09:09.98 Make sense? 00:09:10.01\00:09:11.35 The real question is 00:09:11.38\00:09:12.71 when and how did they get deposited here? 00:09:12.75\00:09:17.19 One of the differences 00:09:17.22\00:09:18.55 between God's more recent creation 00:09:18.59\00:09:20.72 and the millions of years ago evolution ideas 00:09:20.76\00:09:23.76 really comes down to the question of time. 00:09:23.79\00:09:28.16 Evolution teaches that these layers 00:09:28.20\00:09:30.53 were all placed here one at a time 00:09:30.57\00:09:32.70 over millions and millions of years. 00:09:32.73\00:09:36.91 The Bible teaches about a great flood 00:09:36.94\00:09:39.64 that turned the world upside down. 00:09:39.67\00:09:42.44 Could the layers have been deposited 00:09:42.48\00:09:44.41 as the waters rose and receded? 00:09:44.45\00:09:48.42 Two completely different stories, 00:09:48.45\00:09:50.89 but, of course, they both can't be true 00:09:50.92\00:09:53.05 because they're totally opposite. 00:09:53.09\00:09:55.22 So which one is true? 00:09:55.26\00:09:57.13 Let's investigate 00:09:57.16\00:09:58.49 and let the evidence speak for itself. 00:09:58.53\00:10:01.56 Wow, this is really great place to see all the layers here. 00:10:14.44\00:10:18.81 Geologists are the scientists 00:10:18.85\00:10:21.05 that study the layers of the earth. 00:10:21.08\00:10:24.02 They've even given names to each one of the layers 00:10:24.05\00:10:26.45 in the geologic column. 00:10:26.49\00:10:27.92 Of course, evolutionary scientists 00:10:27.96\00:10:30.19 have also given dates to each one of the layers 00:10:30.23\00:10:33.16 saying when they think they were deposited there. 00:10:33.19\00:10:36.26 If you look in textbooks, and on the internet, 00:10:36.30\00:10:38.47 you'll see pictures of the geologic column. 00:10:38.50\00:10:41.00 It looks kind of like this. 00:10:41.04\00:10:42.37 It teaches us that the geologic column 00:10:46.98\00:10:48.88 has 10 basic layers, 00:10:48.91\00:10:50.55 and that those layers can show us 00:10:50.58\00:10:52.45 the history of the planet. 00:10:52.48\00:10:54.22 Sometimes the geologic column drawings 00:10:54.25\00:10:56.58 even show the creatures that supposedly evolved 00:10:56.62\00:10:59.49 during that time. 00:10:59.52\00:11:01.16 Evolution teaches 00:11:06.96\00:11:08.30 that each layer of the geologic column 00:11:08.33\00:11:10.43 represents a different period of time. 00:11:10.47\00:11:13.94 They say it can show us, 00:11:13.97\00:11:15.30 how life evolved over millions of years. 00:11:15.34\00:11:19.27 They say it's all there, nice, neat and complete. 00:11:19.31\00:11:23.75 Sounds convincing, doesn't it? 00:11:23.78\00:11:25.55 We came into a nice shady spot. 00:11:32.65\00:11:35.32 Think I'll sit down, take a little break. 00:11:35.36\00:11:37.63 Evolution uses the geologic column 00:11:43.53\00:11:45.87 to show how small simple creatures live 00:11:45.90\00:11:47.97 at the very bottom. 00:11:48.00\00:11:49.34 But then over millions of years, 00:11:49.37\00:11:50.71 they evolved into larger, more complex animals. 00:11:50.74\00:11:53.78 The first detail we need to be aware of 00:11:53.81\00:11:56.04 is kind of alarming. 00:11:56.08\00:11:57.78 That geologic chart, I just showed you. 00:11:57.81\00:11:59.95 Well, the entire column only exists on paper. 00:11:59.98\00:12:04.25 We don't know of any place in the world 00:12:04.29\00:12:05.65 where we can go and observe all those layers. 00:12:05.69\00:12:09.92 In 80% of the world, 00:12:09.96\00:12:11.83 seven of those ten layers are missing. 00:12:11.86\00:12:15.53 In most places of the world, 00:12:15.56\00:12:17.30 only two or three of those ten layers 00:12:17.33\00:12:19.40 can be observed. 00:12:19.43\00:12:20.97 Some would say they're missing 00:12:21.00\00:12:22.44 because they think they eroded away. 00:12:22.47\00:12:24.67 But what it really seems to say 00:12:24.71\00:12:26.57 is that no one has a real complete 00:12:26.61\00:12:28.38 or reliable picture of our past. 00:12:28.41\00:12:33.38 Yes, there's always an explanation provided. 00:12:33.42\00:12:36.08 But it doesn't help 00:12:36.12\00:12:37.45 when there are so many problems with the idea 00:12:37.49\00:12:39.22 in the first place. 00:12:39.25\00:12:41.89 Wow! 00:12:41.92\00:12:43.26 One of the things that bothers me 00:12:49.16\00:12:50.53 is how perfectly smooth it is between layers. 00:12:50.57\00:12:53.77 If they were really 10 million years 00:12:53.80\00:12:55.60 between each one of these layers, 00:12:55.64\00:12:57.74 wouldn't there at least be some hills or something. 00:12:57.77\00:13:00.51 Wouldn't we also see some evidence 00:13:00.54\00:13:02.34 such as top soil or roots or animals burrowing. 00:13:02.38\00:13:06.01 It really looks as if they were never top layers 00:13:06.05\00:13:08.68 for very long. 00:13:08.72\00:13:11.05 This looks much more like layers 00:13:11.09\00:13:12.82 that were put down quickly one on top of the other, 00:13:12.85\00:13:15.79 just like we would see after a global flood. 00:13:15.82\00:13:19.73 Think I'm gonna write this down in my journal. 00:13:19.76\00:13:21.80 Smooth lines between layers shows us that 00:13:25.33\00:13:28.14 layers could have been deposited quickly with water. 00:13:28.17\00:13:34.78 Like I said, evolution tells you one thing, 00:13:34.81\00:13:37.51 but the physical evidence seems to tell us 00:13:37.55\00:13:40.02 something else. 00:13:40.05\00:13:42.08 I believe in the Bible that our planet 00:13:42.12\00:13:44.82 was ravaged by a flood. 00:13:44.85\00:13:47.06 Hi, everyone, it's Doc M here at HQ. 00:13:52.53\00:13:55.70 Part of learning about creation 00:13:55.73\00:13:57.13 is as also understanding what evolution teaches. 00:13:57.17\00:14:00.67 I often find problems 00:14:00.70\00:14:02.04 with the thinking behind evolution. 00:14:02.07\00:14:04.81 Take these three examples. 00:14:04.84\00:14:06.17 I have some pictures. 00:14:06.21\00:14:07.54 Evolution teaches that one life evolved 00:14:10.71\00:14:13.21 from simple to more complex. 00:14:13.25\00:14:16.75 This is the way it has to be for the idea to work. 00:14:16.79\00:14:20.02 Evolution would start with simple little forms 00:14:20.06\00:14:24.29 and over billions of years evolve 00:14:24.33\00:14:25.96 into something highly complex like us. 00:14:25.99\00:14:32.80 Number two, evolution also teaches 00:14:32.83\00:14:35.07 that things evolved 00:14:35.10\00:14:36.44 from smaller to larger forms of life. 00:14:36.47\00:14:39.21 Small like worms 00:14:39.24\00:14:43.11 into large like whales. 00:14:43.14\00:14:48.82 For evolution, 00:14:48.85\00:14:50.19 this has to be the way things work. 00:14:50.22\00:14:51.85 You can't start off with a giant creature 00:14:51.89\00:14:53.66 appearing out of nowhere. 00:14:53.69\00:14:55.62 You start off with small things supposedly that evolved 00:14:55.66\00:14:58.66 into bigger things. 00:14:58.69\00:15:01.66 Number three, evolution teaches that life evolved 00:15:01.70\00:15:04.80 from low diversity to higher diversity. 00:15:04.83\00:15:08.50 In other words, less varieties of creatures in the past 00:15:08.54\00:15:12.07 and more varieties now, 00:15:12.11\00:15:17.91 like insects. 00:15:17.95\00:15:20.62 Less kinds are first 00:15:20.65\00:15:22.05 and then more kinds of insects later. 00:15:22.08\00:15:24.69 It's a logical approach, if you believe in evolution. 00:15:24.72\00:15:29.22 The problem is that nature seems to disagree. 00:15:29.26\00:15:35.23 Okay, number one, simple to more complex. 00:15:35.26\00:15:40.67 This is a trilobite right here, like I mentioned. 00:15:40.70\00:15:45.47 We now know that trilobites 00:15:45.51\00:15:47.44 were actually extremely complex little creatures 00:15:47.48\00:15:50.71 with antennas and multiple limbs 00:15:50.75\00:15:52.75 and hundreds of lenses for their eyes and more. 00:15:52.78\00:15:57.69 These are very complex. 00:15:57.72\00:16:04.13 Two, things evolved from small to big. 00:16:04.16\00:16:08.76 Well, in the past, fossil evidence suggests that 00:16:08.80\00:16:11.67 everything was actually bigger not smaller 00:16:11.70\00:16:14.94 larger animals and enormous turtles, 00:16:14.97\00:16:18.97 bigger sharks, huge reptiles and so on. 00:16:19.01\00:16:23.38 Now, look how big sharks used to be. 00:16:23.41\00:16:28.15 This is a shark tooth. 00:16:28.18\00:16:30.19 Wo-hoo, scared? 00:16:30.22\00:16:32.55 Look at this, even more scary, 00:16:32.59\00:16:35.59 a claw from a very large reptile. 00:16:35.62\00:16:39.03 Whoa, that's big. 00:16:39.06\00:16:44.77 Things are actually smaller now, 00:16:44.80\00:16:47.27 not larger. 00:16:47.30\00:16:48.64 Okay, number three, 00:16:48.67\00:16:50.61 less variety to more variety. 00:16:50.64\00:16:53.98 Of all the animals and creatures in the world 00:16:54.01\00:16:55.61 we know have existed, only 1% are alive today. 00:16:55.64\00:17:00.85 Wow, what happened to the other 99%? 00:17:00.88\00:17:03.45 They've all become extinct. 00:17:03.49\00:17:07.09 There was way more variety of life in the past 00:17:07.12\00:17:09.79 than there is now. 00:17:09.82\00:17:11.39 That's three big strikes for evolution. 00:17:11.43\00:17:15.76 So again, 00:17:15.80\00:17:19.33 I believe God is my Creator. 00:17:19.37\00:17:22.74 Hey, everyone, it's me, Rich Aguilera. 00:17:26.98\00:17:29.21 I'd love to see you at one of our live events. 00:17:29.24\00:17:31.88 To see where I'll be speaking, visit our website, 00:17:31.91\00:17:34.75 TheCreationCase.com. 00:17:34.78\00:17:37.19 One of my favorite parts of any assignment 00:17:41.96\00:17:44.53 is going off road in the jeep. 00:17:44.56\00:17:46.80 There's so much more we can see 00:17:46.83\00:17:48.86 when we get off the roads. 00:17:48.90\00:17:50.73 I just hope I don't get stuck in this loose sand. 00:17:50.77\00:17:53.80 Let's follow this dry riverbed for a little while. 00:18:00.61\00:18:04.95 Clearly we can see a lot of layers here, 00:18:11.82\00:18:13.99 just like at the Grand Canyon. 00:18:14.02\00:18:16.02 We usually find small marine animals 00:18:16.06\00:18:18.26 towards the bottom layers 00:18:18.29\00:18:19.63 and larger land animals towards the top layers. 00:18:19.66\00:18:22.76 The Bible says that a worldwide flood 00:18:22.80\00:18:25.30 destroyed all the animals of the earth. 00:18:25.33\00:18:27.80 You know, there's a slot canyon just up ahead, 00:18:27.84\00:18:30.21 another great place to see the layers of the earth. 00:18:30.24\00:18:32.77 Come on. 00:18:32.81\00:18:34.34 We finally made it to the slot canyon. 00:18:57.93\00:19:00.17 Let's go in. Come on. 00:19:00.20\00:19:01.70 Wow! 00:19:12.11\00:19:13.45 What an amazing place to see the layers of the earth. 00:19:13.48\00:19:17.05 A slot canyon, like this one 00:19:26.19\00:19:27.83 is formed by water rushing through rock, 00:19:27.86\00:19:30.80 especially soft rock like limestone or sandstone. 00:19:30.83\00:19:34.94 If a global flood did happen 00:19:38.21\00:19:40.61 who would we expect to see buried first. 00:19:40.64\00:19:43.48 I would expect the smallest marine creatures 00:19:43.51\00:19:45.48 would be buried first, 00:19:45.51\00:19:46.85 because they can't get away to safety. 00:19:46.88\00:19:50.45 You're not gonna find a bear down there, 00:19:50.49\00:19:52.49 not because they hadn't evolved yet, 00:19:52.52\00:19:54.26 just because the bear would be able to get away 00:19:54.29\00:19:56.09 to higher ground. 00:19:56.12\00:19:58.63 This is exactly what we see in the geologic column, 00:19:58.66\00:20:01.83 the small marine animals are buried at the bottom. 00:20:01.86\00:20:06.23 In the flood, 00:20:06.27\00:20:07.60 what would you expect to be buried next? 00:20:07.64\00:20:09.64 I would expect to see larger marine creatures. 00:20:09.67\00:20:14.34 Then who would be buried next? 00:20:14.38\00:20:16.34 Probably larger animals and birds. 00:20:16.38\00:20:20.32 A realistic interpretation of this order could be 00:20:20.35\00:20:23.49 that a global flood deposited them that way. 00:20:23.52\00:20:28.79 Do you know what the Bible says in Genesis about the flood? 00:20:28.82\00:20:33.43 Genesis 7:24 says, 00:20:33.46\00:20:35.60 "The waters flooded the earth for a hundred and fifty days." 00:20:35.63\00:20:41.20 The waters rose higher and higher and higher 00:20:41.24\00:20:45.24 for a hundred and fifty days. 00:20:45.27\00:20:47.64 That's five months. 00:20:47.68\00:20:52.48 It's amazing how many little clues we find in nature 00:20:52.51\00:20:55.48 that show us that the earth was once covered with water. 00:20:55.52\00:20:59.75 You know what? 00:21:07.73\00:21:09.06 I just thought of another great place 00:21:09.10\00:21:10.43 to go see some evidence. 00:21:10.47\00:21:11.80 We should go there now. 00:21:11.83\00:21:13.64 Well, let's finish exploring here first. 00:21:13.67\00:21:17.21 This is Kings Canyon. 00:21:44.40\00:21:46.07 What an amazing looking place 00:21:46.10\00:21:47.54 and we're really close to where we're going. 00:21:47.57\00:21:49.17 Come on. 00:21:49.20\00:21:50.71 A lot of the places we've been to so far, 00:21:56.44\00:21:58.71 we've been seeing smooth flat line 00:21:58.75\00:22:00.48 between the layers. 00:22:00.52\00:22:01.85 But it's not like that everywhere 00:22:01.88\00:22:03.69 you're going to see coming up. 00:22:03.72\00:22:05.05 Evolution teaches that the earth's layers 00:22:08.82\00:22:11.66 were put down millions of years apart. 00:22:11.69\00:22:14.00 They teach that each layer of dirt and sand 00:22:17.03\00:22:19.50 was put down soft at first, then eventually turn to stone. 00:22:19.53\00:22:23.87 Then another layer of sand was put down, turn to stone, 00:22:23.91\00:22:27.61 and then the next layer and so on. 00:22:27.64\00:22:30.28 Thousands of layers over millions of years. 00:22:30.31\00:22:34.08 They teach that the layers accumulated slowly, 00:22:34.12\00:22:37.05 a little at a time. 00:22:37.09\00:22:38.92 But that doesn't really reflect what we see in nature. 00:22:38.95\00:22:42.06 Because we see tons of fossils that had to be buried quickly 00:22:42.09\00:22:45.83 in order to be preserved. 00:22:45.86\00:22:48.13 Once again, the theory of evolution 00:22:48.16\00:22:50.60 and the things we see in nature 00:22:50.63\00:22:52.53 don't seem to go together very well. 00:22:52.57\00:22:54.57 Now check out the layers here. 00:23:07.55\00:23:10.09 Noticed anything different? 00:23:10.12\00:23:11.59 See how all those layers are wavy, 00:23:23.37\00:23:26.07 those are called folded layers. 00:23:26.10\00:23:29.30 Man, I wish I can get up a little bit closer. 00:23:29.34\00:23:32.34 Maybe I'll climb on the jeep. 00:23:32.37\00:23:33.74 If you'll notice, the rock layers here are solid. 00:23:44.79\00:23:48.16 This is an important clue. 00:23:48.19\00:23:49.96 The rock layers here 00:23:49.99\00:23:51.33 seem to be telling another story. 00:23:51.36\00:23:53.63 This whole part of the mountain was folded. 00:23:53.66\00:23:56.36 That means it was squeezed together 00:23:56.40\00:23:58.57 and we see this all over the world. 00:23:58.60\00:24:00.77 I wonder if any pieces of this cool rock 00:24:04.47\00:24:06.51 fell on the ground around here somewhere. 00:24:06.54\00:24:08.88 I'm gonna look around. 00:24:08.91\00:24:12.78 You know, folded rock layers shows us 00:24:12.81\00:24:15.95 that at some point in our history, 00:24:15.98\00:24:18.15 great forces were in action on the crust of our earth. 00:24:18.19\00:24:22.09 I mean, in order to move continents around 00:24:22.12\00:24:25.06 and make them collide, 00:24:25.09\00:24:26.70 something big had to cause that. 00:24:26.73\00:24:31.10 Some of the folding also happens 00:24:31.13\00:24:33.30 when rocks and sediment are superheated 00:24:33.34\00:24:36.27 and they deformed 00:24:36.30\00:24:37.64 like the folder rocks in this place. 00:24:37.67\00:24:42.01 A Bible flood would sure provide us 00:24:42.04\00:24:44.61 with a powerful engine to help explain 00:24:44.65\00:24:47.62 how our earth was severely impacted. 00:24:47.65\00:24:52.45 You know, 00:24:52.49\00:24:53.82 think I'm gonna write this in my journal. 00:24:53.86\00:24:55.62 Folded layers remind us of the great forces in play 00:25:03.26\00:25:07.14 during the flood. 00:25:07.17\00:25:10.51 I'm so glad that little clues in nature 00:25:15.74\00:25:18.58 provide us with evidence of the past. 00:25:18.61\00:25:21.92 You know, I've been to the Grand Canyon 00:25:29.22\00:25:30.79 several times and I never get tired of seeing 00:25:30.83\00:25:34.10 how beautiful it is there. 00:25:34.13\00:25:36.26 It's great that such a wonderful place 00:25:36.30\00:25:38.30 can also provide all sorts of evidence 00:25:38.33\00:25:40.64 about the layers of the earth and how they are deposited. 00:25:40.67\00:25:44.57 Well, I need to finish up my report 00:25:44.61\00:25:46.94 and send it to HQ. 00:25:46.98\00:25:48.51 Remember, if you want to read it, 00:25:48.54\00:25:50.21 just go to our website. 00:25:50.25\00:25:53.78 The geologic columns shows us 00:25:53.82\00:25:55.52 the layers of the earth under our feet, 00:25:55.55\00:25:58.22 but the way people interpret the layers can vary. 00:25:58.25\00:26:03.26 The millions of years interpretation 00:26:03.29\00:26:05.89 of the geologic column has its share of problems. 00:26:05.93\00:26:10.57 Smooth lines between layers 00:26:10.60\00:26:12.67 shows us that the layers 00:26:12.70\00:26:14.17 could have been deposited quickly with water. 00:26:14.20\00:26:18.47 Folded layers remind us of the great forces in play 00:26:18.51\00:26:22.68 during the flood. 00:26:22.71\00:26:25.45 It's very possible that the geologic column 00:26:25.48\00:26:28.62 preserve the order in which things were buried 00:26:28.65\00:26:31.49 during the flood. 00:26:31.52\00:26:32.85 Layers remind me about something the Bible says, 00:26:36.16\00:26:40.26 "The layers of a person that follows God." 00:26:40.30\00:26:44.30 Galatians 5 says, 00:26:44.33\00:26:45.83 "The most important layer of a Christian is love." 00:26:45.87\00:26:50.21 But there's more layers a Christian should have too. 00:26:50.24\00:26:53.51 One of them is joy. 00:26:53.54\00:26:55.51 God wants you to be a joyful person, 00:26:55.54\00:26:58.28 not mean and grumpy. 00:26:58.31\00:27:00.32 Another layer is peace, and goodness, and kindness. 00:27:00.35\00:27:04.92 God also wants you to be faithful and gentle 00:27:04.95\00:27:09.06 and have self control. 00:27:09.09\00:27:11.33 That's when you can say no to things that are bad for you. 00:27:11.36\00:27:15.73 In the Bible, all these layers of a Christian 00:27:15.76\00:27:18.20 are called "Fruits of the Spirit." 00:27:18.23\00:27:21.20 The more we have these layers in our life, 00:27:21.24\00:27:23.81 the more we can be like God. 00:27:23.84\00:27:27.51 I hope you'll join me again for our next assignment. 00:27:27.54\00:27:30.78 Remember, God the Creator loves what He creates, 00:27:30.81\00:27:34.85 especially you. 00:27:34.88\00:27:36.35 Good night. 00:27:36.38\00:27:37.72 Wait, hold on. 00:27:48.00\00:27:49.33 We have bloopers. 00:27:49.36\00:27:50.70 Of the earth. 00:27:54.80\00:27:56.14 Come on. 00:27:56.17\00:27:57.51 Falling on a bit too. 00:28:00.44\00:28:01.78 It's... 00:28:01.81\00:28:03.35 Couldn't start. 00:28:03.38\00:28:04.78 In most places of the world kind of trip. 00:28:04.81\00:28:07.28 Hi, Jacqui. 00:28:07.32\00:28:11.22 Seems to say something else. 00:28:11.25\00:28:14.72 In a global flood which, what, where? 00:28:14.76\00:28:18.06 Sure about that. 00:28:18.09\00:28:19.43 It was never cracked. 00:28:22.23\00:28:23.57
