00:11 Where did we come from?
00:14 The Bible says, 00:15 "In the beginning, God created." 00:20 Evolution teaches the opposite. 00:22 No one created, it all happened by itself. 00:26 Which one is the truth? 00:30 This is Headquarters. 00:34 Doc M, 00:38 Jacqui, 00:41 and Rich. 00:44 Their job, investigate and discover the truth. 00:52 This is "The Creation Case." 01:15 Monkeys, we've got monkeys, you have trouble makers, 01:19 you have trouble makers, you two get on the act too. 01:25 I'll have to eat you too. 01:28 Oh, sorry, I'm late Doc M. 01:30 Where were you late? 01:32 Are you playing with those animal crackers again? 01:35 No, I'm just having a little snack. 01:38 Uh-huh. 01:39 What happened to you? 01:43 I think, I just survived a flood. 01:46 Ha, these little guys survived the flood. 01:49 Oh, man, I wasn't even prepared. 01:51 I wish someone had told me, 01:53 I would have got an umbrella or at least something. 01:56 That's going to be Rich's next assignment. 01:58 What? 01:59 That I'm soaked, and I'm late, and I look like a disaster. 02:04 No, the flood. 02:06 I have this email, 02:10 just got it from Timon, Roseburg, Oregon. 02:14 It says, "Dear HQ team, 02:16 I told my friend the other day that my favorite story 02:19 was the story of Noah and the flood. 02:22 When I said that, he laughed 02:25 and said that that never really happened. 02:27 Did it? 02:29 Thanks, Timmy." 02:31 That's not a very nice friend making fun of him like that. 02:35 No, you're right. 02:38 But this is what 02:39 they're teaching in the schools. 02:41 Hmm, I guess that's true. 02:44 Can you get this to Rich right away? 02:46 Sure. 02:47 Excellent, what, where is Rich? 02:50 Hmm, well, he said something about some rock samples. 02:55 Some rock samples. 02:56 We have plenty of rock samples here. 02:59 Guess he wants more. 03:01 Hope, he finds something interesting. 03:03 Well, I'm gonna go dry off and get something to Rich. 03:12 Do you have a creation question for Headquarters? 03:15 Send your questions to Doc, Jacqui and Rich 03:18 by visiting our website at TheCreationCase.com. 04:09 Hey, I think, I got a new message from HQ. 04:12 It must be our new assignment. 04:17 Hi, Rich. 04:18 This is Jacqui at HQ. 04:20 I hope you found some pretty cool rocks. 04:23 Oh, yeah. 04:24 Doc M looks forward to seeing what you bring in. 04:30 By the way, sorry for my appearance, 04:33 it's pouring out here, and it's hard for me to work 04:35 when I look like such a mess. 04:38 Wow! 04:39 She looks like she's having a rough day. 04:41 Doc M says, I look fine though. 04:47 I'm trying to stay in shape. 04:51 Well, I have a new assignment from Doc M. 04:53 Today, we need you to investigate 04:54 a very important event, the flood. 04:59 Make sure he understands why it's so important? 05:05 Great if, if we show evidence of a global flood 05:09 like the Bible talks about, 05:10 that means the Bible story is true. 05:12 And God is the Creator. 05:15 Right. 05:16 Yeah, and if the Bible story is true, 05:20 that means evolution is not true. 05:23 Right. 05:24 It can't be both, has to be one or the other. 05:27 Did the flood occur or did it not? 05:34 Wow, this is an important assignment. 05:37 The flood. 05:39 If there is any evidence of a global flood out there, 05:42 I'm sure you'll find it, Rich. 05:43 We look forward to your report. 05:46 The flood. 05:47 This is an important assignment. 05:49 I better let them know I got the message. 05:52 Got message. 05:57 The flood. 06:01 We'll have to bring back 06:03 rock sample another time. 06:09 All right, let me write this down in my journal. 06:20 The flood. 06:24 Let's see, where do we begin? 06:27 Why don't we start by reading the verse out of the Bible? 06:30 Genesis 7:11, it says, 06:32 "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, 06:35 all the springs of the great deep burst forth, 06:38 and the floodgates of the heavens were opened." 06:41 Wow, "All the springs of the great deep burst forth," 06:45 that sounds violent. 06:48 Hmm. 06:49 Where's a good place to see 06:50 the springs of the great deep bursting forth? 06:53 Hey, I know, right here in Wyoming 06:55 there's a great place, it's called Thermopolis. 06:58 It's perfect. Let's go. 07:07 Help us investigate today. 07:10 Download and print your own free journal study guide 07:13 at TheCreationCase.com. 07:25 When I was a kid and heard about the flood, 07:28 I remember thinking 40 days and nights of rain. 07:31 Wow! 07:32 But if you read the verse, 07:33 the part that really jumps out 07:35 is how the fountains of the great deep erupted. 07:38 Whoa! 07:42 This is Thermopolis, 07:44 home of one of the largest hot springs in the world. 07:48 Hot springs meaning, there's a lot of hot water 07:51 coming out of the ground here. 07:55 This is big spring. 07:56 Look how the water comes boiling up from underground. 07:59 There's a lot of volcanic activity here. 08:01 Let's get closer. 08:06 Water from the surface 08:08 trickles down through the cracks, 08:10 it's warmed up by the volcanic activity way down there. 08:13 Then it returns to the surface 08:15 nice and hot. 08:17 Clearly it's easy to see 08:19 that there is plenty of energy under the ground. 08:25 The water that comes out of the ground here 08:27 is rich in minerals, 08:29 so rich that these mineral terraces have formed. 08:32 All these are made from the minerals in the water 08:35 that have been coming out of the ground here 08:37 for centuries. 08:41 The mineral built up has formed into these bizarre shapes, 08:44 and this neat boardwalk 08:46 lets us get a really great close up look. 08:58 You know, our bodies need minerals and vitamins 09:01 to stay healthy. 09:02 A lot of people like to take baths in mineral water. 09:04 Why don't we give it a try? 09:11 Aah, wow, this water is warm and they added cold water 09:15 so I wouldn't get burned but it's still pretty hot. 09:19 The terraces are just a few feet away. 09:22 I'm glad I'm not soaking in that water, hot. 09:28 Besides all the minerals 09:29 which are good for your body to absorb. 09:31 They say this is good to relax. 09:36 Hot springs like this one show us there is energy 09:39 under the ground. 09:41 There are thousands of hot springs 09:43 all over the world 09:44 that probably formed after the flood. 09:49 These hot springs aren't quite bursting though, are they? 09:52 Can we go somewhere and see them bursting? 09:54 Yep, not far from here, 09:56 there's a place where we can see the water 09:58 bursting from the ground with tremendous energy, 10:00 they're called geysers. 10:01 Let's go and see them. 10:08 It's so great that we can go to places like this 10:11 and see natural features 10:12 that provide possible clues of a global flood 10:15 as described by the Bible. 10:25 Yellowstone National Park is the best place to see water 10:28 bursting from the ground. 10:30 Come on. 10:39 Geysers are very similar to hot springs. 10:42 Water trickles down from the surface 10:44 and comes back up hot and full of minerals. 10:47 In the case of geysers, 10:49 the water coming back up is under pressure. 10:51 So when it gets to the surface, it bursts into the air. 10:58 As you can see, a geyser is basically a hot spring 11:00 that ejects water into the air occasionally. 11:04 What an awesome display of nature. 11:07 There are a couple hundred of these here at Yellowstone. 11:12 Geysers sure remind me about the flood. 11:15 It's the same description we see in the Bible, 11:17 "water bursting out from beneath the earth." 11:23 Do we see any other kind of natural features in the world 11:26 that would cause springs to burst up 11:28 from the great deep? 11:29 How about volcanoes? 11:31 Volcanoes are the ultimate example 11:33 of underground energy bursting. 11:36 We know there are thousands of volcanoes 11:38 all over the planet. 11:39 Can you imagine God commanding all the energy 11:43 under the ground to burst? 11:47 The Bible clearly says that after the flood, 11:50 it took months for all that water 11:52 to drain back down under the surface. 11:55 So a ton of water comes up 11:57 and then it takes months for it to go back down. 12:02 Wow, there must have been a lot of water 12:03 down there in the first place. 12:06 A lot of water combined with all that energy 12:09 we see from volcanoes, and geysers, and hot springs, 12:12 definitely sounds like the Bible's description 12:15 of how the flood happened. 12:17 Now we only see small leftover examples 12:20 of how the flood could have been. 12:21 The actual flood would have been a lot bigger. 12:24 We need to go to California next. 12:26 I got something I got to show you. 12:27 And it's a long drive. 12:29 Come on. 12:34 Hi, everyone, it's Doc M here, HQ. 12:37 Since Rich is investigating the flood today, 12:39 why don't you and I talk about the ark for a moment? 12:42 Did you know there are millions of species of animals 12:44 in the world? 12:46 Yeah, if all the animals were supposed to be on the ark, 12:49 could they all fit? 12:51 There's a lot of animals. 12:54 This is a good question. 12:55 Let's answer. 12:57 First of all, let's see exactly what the Bible says. 12:59 Hey, grab your Bible, 13:01 I'll get mine. 13:02 Yeah, here it is. 13:04 Genesis. 13:05 Genesis, the very first book of the Bible 13:08 and 7:2, 13:11 "God told Noah to take with him 13:14 seven of every kind of clean animal, 13:16 and two of every kind of unclean animal 13:19 and of every kind of bird." 13:21 So here's the question. 13:23 How many kinds of animals are there? 13:25 Millions. 13:27 No, 13:28 there are millions of species. 13:31 But the question is how many kinds of animals are there? 13:34 Let me explain this way. 13:36 Let's look at some pictures. 13:42 This is a collie. 13:45 Beautiful dog. 13:48 This is a poodle. 13:51 Oh, wow. This is a German shepherd. 13:55 Ah, this is a beagle. 13:58 Get ready for the next one. 14:01 Wow. Big old Saint Bernard. 14:06 Lladro Chihuahua. 14:09 One more, a sheep dog. 14:12 Those were seven kinds of dog. 14:16 But this is only one kind of animal, dog. 14:21 God told Noah to just bring a pair of each kind of animal, 14:25 kind of animal. 14:27 If Noah had to bring all the millions of species, 14:30 they would have never fit even if you had squished them in. 14:34 But if you only had to bring the animal kinds, 14:36 then they would all easily fit into the ark. 14:39 You see, each kind of animal has DNA in its body 14:42 and the DNA contains all the information 14:44 for the dog kinds and probably thousands more. 14:48 Wow! 14:49 That helps us out, doesn't it? 14:52 Since God designed and created all the animals, 14:54 He knew exactly what was necessary to do 14:56 in order to save all the animal kind in the world. 15:00 That's our God, and this is again 15:04 why I believe God is my Creator? 15:12 Hey, everyone, it's me, Rich Aguilera. 15:14 I'd love to see you at one of our live events, 15:17 to see where I'll be speaking. 15:19 Visit our website TheCreationCase.com. 15:41 As we drive south towards California, 15:44 we cross through the Rocky Mountains. 15:46 The Rocky Mountains 15:47 are the largest range in North America. 15:50 You know what? 15:51 I think, I'm gonna pull over and take in some of this view. 16:02 Wow, isn't that beautiful? 16:05 The Book of Genesis says that "during the flood, 16:08 the water covered even the highest mountains." 16:11 At the time of the flood, 16:12 Mount Everest probably didn't even exist yet. 16:15 The planet was very unstable. 16:17 The land was cracking, and moving, and uplifting. 16:21 Mountains are formed 16:22 where parts of the earth's crust 16:24 smashes against each other. 16:25 They're called tectonic plates. 16:32 So if water covered every surface of the world, 16:35 it would make sense to find some sort of evidence of that 16:38 up in the mountains, right? 16:40 That's exactly what we see. 16:42 We see marine fossils 16:43 on the tops of the highest mountains 16:45 in the world, such as Mount Everest. 16:48 I think, I'm going to write that down in my journal. 17:02 Marine fossils at the top of many mountains 17:05 shows how dramatic the uplift was during and after the flood. 17:23 A big part of Utah is desert, 17:25 but before it used to be a giant sea. 17:28 We know that because we find billions of fossilized 17:30 marine creatures buried in the ground here. 17:36 The Bible also says in Genesis 7, 17:38 "That every living thing 17:40 on the face of the earth was wiped out." 17:42 If that's true, we should find evidence all over the planet 17:45 of all kinds of living things that got buried. 17:49 Again that is exactly what we find 17:51 and not just marine fossils, 17:53 we find every kind of life form buried in the mud and rocks. 17:59 Evolution also says that everything was buried by water. 18:02 The difference is, they say it was buried by small 18:05 local floods over millions of years. 18:12 Is there any evidence that this was more than 18:14 just small local floods? 18:16 Yes. 18:17 There's a lot of evidence. 18:19 I think, I'm gonna pull over and take a little break now. 18:33 The Bible tells us that the earth erupted 18:35 and water came blasting out of the ground. 18:38 Now if this is true, 18:39 we should find some evidence for this in nature. 18:42 We'd see some sort of sign that the earth shattered 18:46 and water came blasting out from underneath. 18:49 Again, that is exactly what we see. 18:52 The entire surface of our planet 18:54 has shattered into pieces. 18:56 Those pieces are called tectonic plates. 19:00 Imagine our world was an egg, 19:03 if it dropped, the shell would crack into a bunch of pieces. 19:06 That is what we see on our planet. 19:08 The crust is full of cracks. 19:11 No one knows for sure 19:12 if those are the exact places where the water came out. 19:15 But something dramatic happened. 19:18 Some plates are moving alongside each other like this. 19:22 They move slowly today, but faster during the flood. 19:26 Other plates are moving away from each other like this, 19:30 and other plates are doing this. 19:34 That's what happens when we have an earthquake. 19:37 What would cause the surface of our planet 19:40 to shatter like an egg? 19:42 Could this be more evidence of the flood? 19:45 The Bible says, 19:46 "The springs of the great deep burst forth." 19:49 We're actually going to a great place 19:51 to take a look at these cracks in the earth. 19:54 The cracks are actually called faults, 19:57 and we're not too far away from a very impressive fault, 19:59 the San Andreas Fault. 20:01 All right, break's over. Let's get back to the jeep. 20:05 You know, this is a pretty nice looking place. 20:07 I think, I'm going to sketch it. 20:12 There are so many amazing natural locations in the world. 20:17 Don't forget to appreciate the beauty in nature 20:20 God gave us to enjoy. 20:29 What a beautiful place. 20:30 All right, let's keep going. 20:47 The fault line is best seen from the air. 20:49 So we're gonna take a little plane ride 20:51 and get a good look at this fault. 21:02 We're getting ready to take off now. 21:12 Here we go. 21:18 From here, we will need to fly straight west 21:21 in order to find this incredible fault line. 21:30 To get there, we'll have to fly over some fields 21:32 and a small mountain range too. 21:38 We're flying to the Carrizo Plain 21:40 near Bakersfield, California. 21:42 It's definitely one of the best ways 21:44 to see the San Andreas Fault 21:46 which runs north and south through California. 21:50 We're flying over the mountain range now. 21:53 We're getting close. 21:56 Remember how we compared the surface of the earth 21:59 to a crack egg with many pieces. 22:01 Those pieces of our surface are called tectonic plates. 22:04 There's about seven or eight main plates on our planet 22:07 and a handful of smaller plates. 22:10 A fault line is where different plates meet. 22:13 Here the Pacific plate 22:14 and the North American plate meet. 22:17 Faults are also places where rocks were simply smashed 22:22 by the tremendous forces in the earth. 22:26 There it is. 22:29 Wow, that's amazing. 22:33 The fault runs about 800 miles through California. 22:37 It's the boundary between the Pacific plate 22:40 and the North American plate. 23:02 The Bible tells us that 23:03 "God used a global flood to destroy the earth." 23:07 Fault lines are evidence that waters erupted from the planet 23:11 at the time of the flood. 23:14 No one knows for sure 23:15 if the water erupted at the fault lines. 23:18 But we can see here 23:19 that something big happened sometime in the past. 23:28 It's incredible how the natural features left on our planet 23:32 provides us with little clues 23:34 about what may have happened 23:36 during and after the flood. 23:42 I need to write this in my journal. 23:50 Maybe we better do this later. 24:02 That was awesome. 24:04 I'm so glad that the things we see on our planet 24:07 reflect the things we read about in the Bible. 24:12 Now I can write this in my journal. 24:22 Tectonic plates probably moved during the flood. 24:34 Wow, wasn't that fault line amazing? 24:37 It's great how everywhere we look, 24:39 there's evidence of how global flood 24:41 reshaped the surface of our planet 24:43 just like the Bible says, 24:45 something huge happened. 24:47 Clearly, a lot of water was involved. 24:50 Well, I need to finish up my report and send it to HQ. 24:53 Remember, if you want to read it, 24:55 just go to our website. 24:59 There is so much evidence on our planet 25:02 that a global flood once covered every surface. 25:10 Living things are found buried all over our planet. 25:15 There is a lot of energy underground 25:18 just like the Bible talks about. 25:21 Marine fossils are found at the top 25:24 of the highest mountains. 25:27 Tectonic plates probably moved during the flood. 25:41 The flood story 25:42 is my favorite story in the Bible. 25:44 It was like giving the world a clean new start 25:48 after sin had dirtied everything up. 25:50 You know, we're still sinners. 25:53 And every day we should ask for God to forgive our sins. 25:57 People around the world do anything 26:00 to find peace and happiness, 26:02 but it's God the Creator who can take your life 26:05 and give you a fresh new start every day. 26:09 Don't worry about the bad things 26:10 you may have done because the Bible tells us 26:14 that if you ask for forgiveness, 26:16 God will cast your sin into the sea. 26:19 Wow, that's amazing. 26:21 Begin each day with God and a fresh clean start. 26:27 Well, I hope you'll join me again 26:29 for our next assignment 26:31 and remember, God the Creator loves what He creates, 26:34 especially you. 26:36 Goodnight. 26:47 Hold on, don't leave yet, we've got bloopers. 26:51 Ooh. 26:53 Wow, where do we be. 26:56 Geyser and I have no idea what I'm going to say next. 26:59 The flood story. 27:04 Seven eleven. 27:06 Turnover man. 27:09 He's supposed to be on the flood. 27:14 Hey, I forgot to react. 27:16 Wow. Wow. 27:19 Cold water so what. 27:22 And every kind of... 27:25 No! |
