Welcome, welcome to "Thinking About Home" 00:00:34.81\00:00:36.81 I am always so glad that you've joined us. 00:00:36.84\00:00:38.82 I'm Kathy Matthews, I am your host for this program 00:00:38.85\00:00:41.03 and today we're going to have 00:00:41.52\00:00:43.13 I think something that you will really enjoy, 00:00:43.42\00:00:45.73 we're going to have with us two people. 00:00:46.33\00:00:49.04 We've been having a good time here 00:00:49.07\00:00:50.47 sitting and talking together. 00:00:50.50\00:00:51.79 This is Pastor Leroy Moore here to my right 00:00:52.68\00:00:55.59 immediately and Pastor Moore, 00:00:56.02\00:00:58.46 I'll get back to you in just a second and 00:00:58.49\00:01:00.38 we also have Pastor Richard O'Ffill 00:01:00.41\00:01:03.20 and I don't think anybody knows you Dick. 00:01:03.23\00:01:05.32 Do you think so? I don't think they recognize 00:01:05.35\00:01:07.60 your hair or anything like that, you're a new face, 00:01:07.63\00:01:09.85 no, not really. Pastor Moore, 00:01:09.88\00:01:12.72 I'd like to just tell the viewers 00:01:12.75\00:01:15.10 a little bit about how you and I met. 00:01:15.13\00:01:16.58 Is that alright with you? That's perfectly right. 00:01:16.61\00:01:19.06 Oh, and. By the way what's this about over here? 00:01:19.09\00:01:21.22 Oh, Dick. You didn't introduce 00:01:21.25\00:01:22.72 our invisible guest. I am sorry 00:01:22.75\00:01:23.72 I didn't introduce that, our invisible guest 00:01:23.73\00:01:25.74 here is your brain, isn't that right. 00:01:25.77\00:01:27.87 I pose for that. No it's not Dick's brain, 00:01:27.90\00:01:30.75 however, we got this is a chart we're going to be 00:01:31.16\00:01:32.98 using in the program and I think it'll be 00:01:33.01\00:01:34.84 very interesting to our viewers. 00:01:34.87\00:01:36.15 Don't you think? And we will get back to 00:01:36.18\00:01:37.53 that in just a second. 00:01:37.56\00:01:38.53 But I just like to share a little bit about 00:01:38.93\00:01:40.94 how you and I met, and that's some 00:01:40.97\00:01:42.70 12 years ago I think it was. 00:01:42.73\00:01:44.46 We met in the State of Washington and 00:01:45.01\00:01:48.06 he was our Pastor at a church there Tom and I. 00:01:48.09\00:01:50.51 And it was such a blessing in our lives there were 00:01:50.82\00:01:52.88 so many times when I needed his advice or help 00:01:52.91\00:01:55.58 and he became like a father in the faith to me. 00:01:55.61\00:01:57.70 And it was so easy to talk to, and things 00:01:58.04\00:02:00.68 that were meaningful in my life at that time 00:02:00.71\00:02:02.61 I just always appreciated that. 00:02:02.64\00:02:04.24 And a few months ago, we had the opportunity 00:02:04.57\00:02:07.57 to get back together again over a discussion 00:02:07.60\00:02:09.53 and I just invited him to come to the program 00:02:09.92\00:02:12.09 and I'm very thankful that you came. 00:02:12.45\00:02:14.51 I'm glad to be here. He is from Alberta, 00:02:14.54\00:02:17.11 Canada, Dick and by the way you're from Florida, 00:02:17.14\00:02:19.88 right? I am Florida. We both came a long way. 00:02:19.91\00:02:21.56 Long ways, and you're very faithful people. 00:02:21.59\00:02:23.60 Dick, what do you think? 00:02:25.68\00:02:28.09 Well, you know obviously Leroy has come to be our 00:02:28.12\00:02:32.35 expert today in talking about things so important 00:02:32.38\00:02:35.92 to the family, and of course, 00:02:35.95\00:02:37.62 Thinking About Home is about the family. 00:02:37.65\00:02:39.71 Here we are in the 21st century and if the devil 00:02:40.87\00:02:43.94 wants to do anything at all 00:02:43.97\00:02:45.25 it's to destroy our families. Right. 00:02:45.28\00:02:46.95 And that's our burden here on this program. 00:02:46.98\00:02:48.78 Is to try to fortify it, you know, to hold it up. 00:02:48.81\00:02:51.85 We talk about the church, the need of the church 00:02:52.70\00:02:55.56 for revival, and renewal, and reformation 00:02:55.59\00:02:58.03 and our Pastor Moore, I'm convinced that 00:02:58.64\00:03:00.79 in as much as the, the church is the sum of all 00:03:01.33\00:03:04.29 of its families that we really can't 00:03:04.32\00:03:06.82 have the church renewed and revived 00:03:06.85\00:03:09.07 until the families are renewed and revived. 00:03:09.45\00:03:11.43 You're right. And of course here we are 00:03:11.46\00:03:13.66 in this particular ambiance in this culture. 00:03:14.25\00:03:16.42 It kind of reminds me of. 00:03:16.45\00:03:18.28 You are not going to do it. 00:03:18.75\00:03:19.72 Yeah, I am gonna tell that story, you know, 00:03:19.74\00:03:21.61 I must tell our viewers that while we were 00:03:21.64\00:03:24.05 talking before the program begin, 00:03:24.08\00:03:25.40 I told this little story that I am about to 00:03:26.46\00:03:28.23 tell now and she said, don't tell it again 00:03:28.26\00:03:29.67 I won't laugh, but anyway you'll laugh 00:03:29.70\00:03:31.84 and if we don't care whether you laugh or not 00:03:31.87\00:03:33.72 but anyway it's a story about a little camel 00:03:33.96\00:03:36.52 talking to his mother, and so the little camel 00:03:37.52\00:03:41.69 says mummy why do have these big humps 00:03:41.72\00:03:43.62 on our backs, and mummy says it's so that 00:03:43.65\00:03:46.49 we can go for many days 00:03:46.52\00:03:47.66 without having any water, 00:03:47.69\00:03:48.79 and then the little camel says well, 00:03:49.16\00:03:50.78 mummy why do we have our feet this way 00:03:50.81\00:03:52.39 kind of all spread out, and she said, 00:03:52.42\00:03:54.14 honey it's so we won't sink in the sand 00:03:54.17\00:03:56.18 of the desert and then the little camel says, 00:03:56.21\00:03:58.83 mummy why do we have these long eyelashes 00:03:58.86\00:04:00.72 and she said, well, it's sometimes there is 00:04:01.30\00:04:04.42 sands storm out there in the desert and so 00:04:04.45\00:04:06.55 we close our eyes and we don't get sand in our eyes 00:04:06.58\00:04:08.78 and then the little camel thinks and says, 00:04:09.53\00:04:11.10 well if we were for that then 00:04:11.52\00:04:13.44 what are we doing here in the zoo. 00:04:13.47\00:04:14.63 And the reason I tell that is because 00:04:16.36\00:04:18.26 in a way the present culture, the sin, 00:04:19.78\00:04:22.85 sin has put the family in a zoo. 00:04:22.88\00:04:25.44 Right. Captivity. It's in captivity 00:04:25.47\00:04:27.99 and what will we do, what will we do to be what 00:04:28.31\00:04:32.67 God meant for us to be? And I think that 00:04:32.70\00:04:35.80 there is this tendency because we're like, 00:04:35.83\00:04:37.50 we're in this dilemma is to strike 00:04:37.53\00:04:39.80 of a normal of the abnormal. 00:04:39.83\00:04:41.33 Sort of to find an acceptable of the 00:04:41.36\00:04:43.13 unacceptable but I refuse that, and so, and so, 00:04:43.16\00:04:47.31 I'm hoping that in this program Leroy that 00:04:47.62\00:04:50.63 she'll lead us back, lead us back, can we go back, 00:04:50.66\00:04:54.47 we must go back because we can't take up from 00:04:54.50\00:04:56.94 where we're at, right, because 00:04:56.97\00:04:58.13 this is an unacceptable, yeah. 00:04:58.16\00:04:59.59 And so that's why you know this program is Genesis, 00:04:59.62\00:05:04.17 Genesis keys to a happy home, so if 00:05:04.56\00:05:08.02 we're gonna understand what it's like to, 00:05:08.05\00:05:09.43 for the home to be what it's meant to be 00:05:09.86\00:05:11.21 we've got go back to. You are right, 00:05:11.24\00:05:13.31 to Genesis, to Genesis. 00:05:13.34\00:05:14.36 Let's go back to Genesis. And I'd like to encourage 00:05:14.39\00:05:16.59 our audience to think close or listen close 00:05:16.62\00:05:20.32 because this is not your superficial stuff at all, 00:05:20.35\00:05:22.80 is it? I don't think it is. 00:05:22.83\00:05:24.30 To me it's very important, it's key, isn't it? 00:05:24.33\00:05:26.33 Yeah, yeah. Well, you know in the first 00:05:26.36\00:05:28.69 three chapter of Genesis, the whole gospel is 00:05:29.18\00:05:35.27 contented in embryo form. Right. 00:05:35.30\00:05:37.47 And it's amazing how much we can if we 00:05:38.20\00:05:41.31 really probe those few verses. 00:05:41.34\00:05:44.90 How much we can understand about 00:05:45.17\00:05:47.93 God's purpose for our lives and what happened 00:05:47.96\00:05:50.71 to put us in the zoo. And we will first begin 00:05:50.74\00:05:55.43 by thinking about God's plan 00:05:55.60\00:05:58.12 and this question about happy family. 00:05:58.47\00:06:00.75 You know I grew up in a home where there were 00:06:02.28\00:06:04.89 eight of us children. And there are some problems 00:06:04.92\00:06:09.40 with each children you know siblings and so forth 00:06:09.43\00:06:12.89 when you especially have no money and hard times 00:06:12.92\00:06:16.53 and so forth but there is also some great blessings. 00:06:16.56\00:06:19.29 Right, I know what that's like. 00:06:19.32\00:06:20.53 My folks used to say well, children, we're not poor. 00:06:20.56\00:06:23.79 We're rich. In the Lord. And we were, because 00:06:23.82\00:06:27.29 we had some things that make for a happy home. 00:06:27.32\00:06:31.33 I wanted to think with this morning a little bit 00:06:32.11\00:06:35.11 about the happy home atmosphere 00:06:35.14\00:06:38.63 and the question of what are the 00:06:38.97\00:06:41.25 ingredients of a happy home. 00:06:41.28\00:06:42.57 Well, the first thing that's needed for anyone 00:06:43.49\00:06:46.72 to have any real meaning 00:06:46.75\00:06:50.68 in life is to have a purpose. Yes. Right. 00:06:50.71\00:06:53.09 There has to be some goal, 00:06:53.12\00:06:54.48 there has to be some object, 00:06:54.51\00:06:55.88 there has to be something that 00:06:56.22\00:06:58.38 greater than oneself to move toward. 00:06:58.83\00:07:02.79 Life can not be meaningless. Yeah. 00:07:02.82\00:07:04.72 And there needs to be a sense of worth. Yes. 00:07:05.26\00:07:09.16 And that requires family because it's in the family 00:07:09.96\00:07:13.70 that God designed that we establish a sense of worth. 00:07:14.06\00:07:17.77 Yes. And the basis for a sense of worth 00:07:17.80\00:07:20.90 is that we cherish one and another, 00:07:21.73\00:07:23.93 that each member of the family sense 00:07:24.94\00:07:28.27 the value of the other and frequently 00:07:28.30\00:07:31.88 in various ways remind them of it. Yeah. 00:07:31.91\00:07:34.97 I had the privilege of being in a home where 00:07:35.00\00:07:37.77 both parents were loving and kind and where 00:07:37.80\00:07:41.59 they frequently share their feelings 00:07:41.62\00:07:46.16 about the worth of their children, 00:07:46.19\00:07:48.65 they also encouraged us to share with each other, 00:07:49.58\00:07:53.85 a sense of worth, yes, and you know what 00:07:54.33\00:07:56.44 it doesn't make Canadians how poor you are. 00:07:56.47\00:07:58.64 There are many times we had nothing to eat. 00:07:59.53\00:08:01.91 There were days when we had nothing to eat 00:08:03.05\00:08:07.72 but maybe some of the milk the cows gave, 00:08:07.75\00:08:11.10 some eggs the chicken lay, that's about to eat, 00:08:12.45\00:08:15.06 and sometimes we get one of these big 00:08:15.96\00:08:18.23 50 pound sacks of stale bread from the bakery 00:08:18.64\00:08:23.34 that was given to us for a few cents 00:08:23.95\00:08:27.13 and that would be about to it, but you know what. 00:08:27.74\00:08:30.39 We thrived. Because you had. We had. 00:08:31.16\00:08:34.63 Something more than food. Some, we had a purpose 00:08:35.27\00:08:37.49 in life, we had a sense of worth 00:08:37.52\00:08:39.98 and we had relationship 00:08:41.12\00:08:42.80 that helped us through every kind of problem. 00:08:43.26\00:08:46.45 Do you know that, you know this reminds 00:08:46.81\00:08:47.95 me what he's talking about 00:08:47.98\00:08:49.04 where the family shares appreciation? Yes. 00:08:49.07\00:08:51.04 I remember once I spent a week with a family. 00:08:51.07\00:08:54.04 I was doing some meetings and you know what they 00:08:54.07\00:08:55.98 would do for as a part of their family worship. 00:08:56.01\00:08:58.70 Each one was said what he appreciated of one another. 00:08:59.02\00:09:01.29 Appreciate one another, yes I've heard that. 00:09:01.32\00:09:02.74 And it was wonderful and I think that maybe 00:09:02.77\00:09:05.79 in your home you didn't do that in a formal way, 00:09:05.82\00:09:08.08 but it was implied. It was in the very 00:09:08.11\00:09:10.13 air you breathe, it was everything you did. 00:09:10.16\00:09:12.83 But it's nice even to have a little ceremony 00:09:12.86\00:09:14.76 of doing that too because makes a person think 00:09:14.79\00:09:17.24 why I value you. That true, it's good. 00:09:17.67\00:09:19.54 You know I like that verse in John 15:11, 00:09:19.90\00:09:24.45 we're gonna be talking about Genesis. Yes. 00:09:25.94\00:09:28.07 But Jesus was the creator, according to the 00:09:28.10\00:09:32.03 New Testament, God created all things through 00:09:32.06\00:09:35.46 Jesus Christ, yes, right. And as the creator 00:09:35.49\00:09:38.55 he became a creature and that's what we're gonna 00:09:38.58\00:09:41.64 be dealing with, the creator and his creatures. 00:09:41.67\00:09:45.37 But he became what he made and when he came, 00:09:45.66\00:09:48.76 he talked with him of course about many things 00:09:49.09\00:09:52.04 and he told them one time, he says these things 00:09:52.07\00:09:55.51 I have spoken into you that my joy 00:09:55.54\00:09:58.78 might remain in you, right, and that your joy 00:09:59.35\00:10:02.29 might be full, yes, actually Christ 00:10:02.32\00:10:05.67 did not come to put us in a straitjacket. No. 00:10:05.70\00:10:08.53 Right. He came to set us free. Amen. 00:10:08.56\00:10:10.59 And he came to give us a sense of joy, 00:10:10.96\00:10:13.58 but I want to go back to Genesis, good, 00:10:13.96\00:10:16.73 the first chapter of Genesis is really rather 00:10:16.76\00:10:20.58 interesting and you can summarize it quite easily 00:10:20.61\00:10:24.37 with these words, God said, and it was. 00:10:24.40\00:10:28.28 That's pretty good. God said, and it was. 00:10:28.68\00:10:31.89 You know the firmament and that the. 00:10:32.30\00:10:34.30 He spoken and it was done. Yes, and it was done and 00:10:35.43\00:10:38.84 when He came to the fish of the sea and animals 00:10:39.75\00:10:43.08 and so forth but there was a change 00:10:43.11\00:10:45.47 that took place in verse 26 of chapter 1. 00:10:45.50\00:10:47.85 No longer does God speak and it's done, he acts, 00:10:48.79\00:10:52.70 the Bible says and God formed man, 00:10:53.98\00:10:57.05 of the dust of the ground and I want you to 00:10:58.11\00:11:03.13 notice that, God formed man of what? 00:11:03.16\00:11:06.06 Dust. The dust. Dust of the ground. 00:11:06.09\00:11:07.77 Man belongs to the earth. He was formed of the 00:11:07.80\00:11:11.77 dust of the ground and by the way 00:11:11.80\00:11:14.09 when death takes place we returned to the dust. 00:11:14.12\00:11:17.32 Right. You know, I think we all heard that story 00:11:17.35\00:11:19.76 about the mother that explains us to the 00:11:20.25\00:11:22.59 little boy that we are made from dust and you know, 00:11:22.62\00:11:24.87 boy is saying his prayer at night and screams 00:11:25.26\00:11:27.25 and says mummy there is somebody under my bed 00:11:27.28\00:11:28.87 I can't tell whether they're coming or going. 00:11:28.90\00:11:30.47 Yes, I heard that before. But you know, I was 00:11:30.50\00:11:33.63 thinking about that the other day of Pastor Moore, 00:11:33.66\00:11:35.99 and in terms of, you know, the food we get 00:11:36.02\00:11:39.34 comes from the ground. Yes. 00:11:39.37\00:11:40.57 We're from the ground we were sustained from the 00:11:40.60\00:11:42.60 ground and we go back to the ground. 00:11:42.63\00:11:44.20 Yes. That's right. But you know there is rest 00:11:44.23\00:11:46.97 of that story after he formed man 00:11:47.00\00:11:49.41 from the dust of ground. Now that's earth 00:11:49.44\00:11:50.97 and that puts man in connection 00:11:51.36\00:11:53.47 with the lowest form of life. 00:11:53.50\00:11:56.77 Every, you know the grass. So there is a part 00:11:58.24\00:12:00.34 of him is lowering form. That's right. 00:12:00.37\00:12:02.73 And man by the way was made in such a way that he 00:12:02.76\00:12:06.46 has instincts as same as all of the animal world. 00:12:06.49\00:12:09.00 We have instincts that are so wonderful because 00:12:09.74\00:12:13.26 they permit us to live without constantly, 00:12:13.64\00:12:17.30 trying to put the hydrochloric acid in our 00:12:18.84\00:12:21.00 stomach and we don't worry about those things. 00:12:21.03\00:12:23.96 The instincts guide us and in many ways 00:12:24.47\00:12:29.77 we function without having to be 00:12:30.52\00:12:33.51 conscious of what we're doing, right. 00:12:33.54\00:12:35.43 When we're sleeping, the autonomic nervous system 00:12:35.46\00:12:40.27 keeps us in breathing and so far. 00:12:40.30\00:12:43.91 You would equate that nervous system 00:12:43.94\00:12:45.69 or that involuntary system with instinct. 00:12:45.72\00:12:48.84 Well, now I was thinking of the same thing Kathy. 00:12:48.87\00:12:50.49 That's right. No, but I don't think they're in 00:12:50.52\00:12:52.63 the strict sense of the word, I don't think 00:12:52.66\00:12:54.82 we would want to call that instinct, 00:12:54.85\00:12:56.16 now you know, I don't want to get into it 00:12:56.19\00:12:58.63 a debate over that but instinct I think has to do 00:12:58.66\00:13:02.81 more with actions with, then with the kind of 00:13:02.84\00:13:05.75 saying like my pituitary gland, yes, 00:13:05.78\00:13:07.73 sending out hormones, right, 00:13:07.76\00:13:09.41 you don't mean that that's an instinct. 00:13:09.44\00:13:11.32 Well we have two, we have two centers of the brain, 00:13:11.35\00:13:14.15 the lower center and the higher center. Alright. 00:13:14.78\00:13:18.54 And the lower center controls all of that 00:13:18.93\00:13:20.97 and when I speak of instincts I speak of it 00:13:21.63\00:13:24.18 to include the whole of the body because. 00:13:24.21\00:13:27.25 It controls all of what? It controls 00:13:27.28\00:13:30.07 It controls, all of the body, blood flow, oh, 00:13:30.10\00:13:31.62 you mean all the autonomy, 00:13:31.65\00:13:32.64 it's an autonomic nervous system 00:13:32.67\00:13:35.09 and it is through the autonomic nervous system 00:13:35.54\00:13:37.80 that permits you to drive along the road 00:13:38.24\00:13:40.33 and put your brakes on before you actually 00:13:40.67\00:13:43.07 are conscious of seeing the car ahead of you. 00:13:43.10\00:13:45.80 Okay, alright, so it controls that. 00:13:45.83\00:13:48.14 So all of these things are really involved in 00:13:48.17\00:13:49.97 instincts and of course instincts involve sexual 00:13:50.00\00:13:53.03 and the desire for food, all of these things 00:13:53.66\00:13:57.65 are part of the lower brain stem and God 00:13:57.68\00:14:02.83 designed this in such a way that it would 00:14:02.86\00:14:04.65 work beautifully, wonderfully, 00:14:04.68\00:14:06.30 everything God created was very good. 00:14:06.76\00:14:08.82 So you know we were mentioning before 00:14:09.19\00:14:11.97 when we before we've started here today that, 00:14:12.00\00:14:14.95 okay, I am sorry, I lost my thought completely. 00:14:18.02\00:14:20.57 Well, I know where you are going. 00:14:20.60\00:14:21.88 You know where I am going. 00:14:21.91\00:14:22.88 In another words, we have a part of us that's 00:14:22.89\00:14:25.20 a little bit like every other animal I think. Yes. 00:14:25.23\00:14:27.38 That's right. That's what I was gonna say, yes. 00:14:27.41\00:14:29.26 This is what I thought you were going to say, 00:14:29.29\00:14:30.30 in another words when you're talking about 00:14:30.57\00:14:31.99 a lower but not necessarily talking about 00:14:32.42\00:14:34.31 We are not talking about lower instincts 00:14:34.34\00:14:35.43 as being sinful. Yes, okay. 00:14:35.46\00:14:37.46 Because we do have as he is pointing 00:14:39.22\00:14:41.22 out a fleshly side of us. We have our lungs, 00:14:41.25\00:14:44.54 we have the hormones, we have the 00:14:44.57\00:14:46.72 need for nutrition, yes, yes, and so on 00:14:46.75\00:14:49.00 so forth, and I think that, I think that 00:14:49.03\00:14:51.52 you're referring to that as a lower nature 00:14:51.55\00:14:53.94 without being a deprive nature. That's right. 00:14:53.97\00:14:55.87 Okay. It was divinely designed and it was 00:14:55.90\00:15:00.86 designed in a marvelous way to put man in 00:15:00.89\00:15:05.17 touch with the creatures. Now let's go back to 00:15:05.20\00:15:07.68 Genesis again and move a little further and see 00:15:07.71\00:15:10.22 how this time sake. Okay, we are ready. 00:15:10.25\00:15:11.51 And in Genesis 1:26, it says, Let us make man in 00:15:12.16\00:15:15.44 our image, now I first of all I mentioned the fact 00:15:15.47\00:15:19.54 that we are made in such a way that we are animals. 00:15:19.57\00:15:23.80 Man is an animal, but we are not just an animal 00:15:23.83\00:15:28.02 we are the animal that is created 00:15:28.41\00:15:30.69 in the image of God, and in his likeness 00:15:30.72\00:15:34.37 and we are designed for fellowship and now we 00:15:34.40\00:15:37.30 go back to the chapter 2, verse 7 which I quoted a 00:15:37.33\00:15:41.10 while ago, God for man they are the same now 00:15:41.13\00:15:44.10 notice the rest of that verse, and God breathed 00:15:44.13\00:15:46.95 into man's nostrils the breath of life. Yes. 00:15:46.98\00:15:50.87 Now notice that everything in scripture is designed 00:15:50.90\00:15:54.39 to teach us something those words are there 00:15:54.79\00:15:57.49 for a purpose and those words are designed to 00:15:57.52\00:16:02.13 bring to us the image of a loving God 00:16:02.16\00:16:04.93 embracing his created being. Amen. Adam. 00:16:05.39\00:16:09.64 Now God's purpose then was to create a man 00:16:10.01\00:16:13.82 for his own fellowship, and man was created 00:16:13.85\00:16:18.54 in such a way that he could fellowship with 00:16:18.57\00:16:21.12 God because he's made in the divine image with 00:16:21.15\00:16:25.76 the higher center of the brain which puts him 00:16:25.79\00:16:29.38 completely in a different category than all 00:16:29.41\00:16:31.49 the rest of the animals, yet man 00:16:31.52\00:16:33.41 is able to relate to the animal world. 00:16:33.44\00:16:35.81 Alright, that is where he's going. Yes. 00:16:35.84\00:16:37.23 Because he is also an animal and the affections 00:16:37.26\00:16:42.27 interesting enough have to do with the emotions, 00:16:42.30\00:16:44.85 okay, and that has to do with this. 00:16:44.88\00:16:47.86 Now love and affection are two different things. 00:16:47.89\00:16:50.66 You know when you first talked to me about that 00:16:50.69\00:16:52.36 I thought that was a good thing for us to share 00:16:52.39\00:16:55.08 to separate that out. 00:16:55.11\00:16:56.30 I am glad you bringing that up. 00:16:56.33\00:16:57.97 Well, we have to discuss that lower later but 00:16:58.00\00:17:00.55 just a moment of saying love is centered here. 00:17:00.58\00:17:05.07 Yes. And we'll have to define that later, okay, 00:17:05.10\00:17:08.22 but love comes from God, and it is a gift of God 00:17:08.25\00:17:12.84 and without the presence of God we cannot love. 00:17:12.87\00:17:17.73 It is a gift of God that he administers 00:17:18.25\00:17:21.45 by his own presence, presence. 00:17:21.48\00:17:23.09 I know, it's beautiful. No, I don't mean to 00:17:23.12\00:17:24.78 confuse myself. Not yourself. 00:17:24.81\00:17:26.96 But now does this word affections I'm thinking 00:17:27.45\00:17:30.05 of a poodle. So you really couldn't say 00:17:30.08\00:17:32.53 that my poodle loves me 00:17:32.56\00:17:33.99 but my poodle has an affection for me. 00:17:34.02\00:17:36.05 That's right, yes. Now of course you're talking 00:17:36.08\00:17:38.33 like see he loves me but love requires, 00:17:38.36\00:17:42.95 and love is, love is not a feeling. 00:17:42.98\00:17:45.40 Do we go into that too soon you may 00:17:45.43\00:17:47.60 think of that later. Yeah, I think I light that 00:17:47.63\00:17:48.60 a little bit too soon. But we'll come back to it 00:17:48.61\00:17:51.31 later, okay, not in this session but later on 00:17:51.34\00:17:54.65 but now what I want to show is that man 00:17:54.98\00:17:58.31 is an animal but he is the highest animal 00:17:58.72\00:18:01.99 and he is not just an animal because 00:18:02.34\00:18:07.21 he's created with the capacity for fellowship 00:18:07.24\00:18:10.18 with God to hear him, to understand him 00:18:10.85\00:18:14.84 and to enter in by choice into relationship 00:18:16.00\00:18:20.72 and this brings us to another part of man, 00:18:20.75\00:18:26.07 you see, man was created with the power of choice, 00:18:26.10\00:18:28.68 yes, and it is the power of will that gives 00:18:29.58\00:18:35.11 meaning to reason, judgment, will, 00:18:35.14\00:18:38.10 conscience, all of these things are the higher 00:18:38.57\00:18:42.69 part of man's brain but it is the will 00:18:43.28\00:18:46.59 which is the command center for the whole body. 00:18:46.62\00:18:50.10 Right. God designed man to be a temple 00:18:50.13\00:18:54.22 of the Holy Spirit and he designed that man 00:18:54.25\00:18:58.35 of whether he is speaking to him directly 00:18:58.38\00:19:00.69 or through dreams or whatever the case is. 00:19:00.72\00:19:03.59 God's word would direct a man's reason 00:19:03.92\00:19:08.04 through the Holy Spirit and the word, of course 00:19:10.75\00:19:13.33 there was no written word to begin with it, 00:19:13.36\00:19:14.88 there was no need for it but God was in consent 00:19:14.91\00:19:18.58 communion with man, guiding his reason, 00:19:18.61\00:19:21.37 his judgment and so long as man chose 00:19:21.40\00:19:24.92 that a arrangement, yes, and was subject to 00:19:25.31\00:19:28.31 the guidance of the Holy Spirit. 00:19:28.34\00:19:29.74 The widow as the central command system for 00:19:30.42\00:19:34.33 the whole body controlled the lower center as well. 00:19:34.36\00:19:40.00 And therefore the hormones were perfectly 00:19:40.97\00:19:42.78 balanced and all of the organs of man work 00:19:42.81\00:19:47.56 in a perfect symmetrical manner. 00:19:47.59\00:19:50.43 Now the flesh of man is not evil, 00:19:51.28\00:19:54.35 it was the creation of God. Yes, per say. 00:19:54.62\00:19:57.11 That's right, per say, but we will find out later 00:19:57.14\00:19:59.92 and we can't discuss it now but when sin 00:19:59.95\00:20:03.06 entered in the world this whole process 00:20:03.09\00:20:04.52 was reversed so that instead of reason and 00:20:04.55\00:20:08.55 judgment being executed by the will to control 00:20:08.58\00:20:12.67 the whole body we find that the emotions. 00:20:12.70\00:20:16.81 Have now become. And the perverted instincts, 00:20:17.54\00:20:20.91 notice perverted instincts. 00:20:20.94\00:20:23.03 So instincts have been perverted, yes, so now 00:20:23.44\00:20:26.34 we perverted instincts. As they were created 00:20:26.37\00:20:28.64 the instincts of man were perfect. 00:20:28.67\00:20:30.63 Yes. And but you know I'd like to just 00:20:30.66\00:20:34.57 go a little bit further and share with you 00:20:34.60\00:20:38.52 something more about God's purpose in Eden 00:20:38.55\00:20:42.51 and we go back to verse 26, where it says, 00:20:42.89\00:20:46.35 in my, in our own image after our own likeness 00:20:47.72\00:20:51.36 and let here us give him dominion. 00:20:51.39\00:20:53.66 Now this is the wonderful thing. 00:20:54.88\00:20:56.63 God made man in such a way that he would 00:20:57.07\00:21:00.84 have dominion over the whole world, okay, 00:21:00.87\00:21:05.12 and over all the animals 00:21:05.15\00:21:06.67 even over the birds and so forth. Now I wish 00:21:06.70\00:21:10.92 we had time to explore that a little bit, yes. 00:21:10.95\00:21:13.58 Do you know even now it's fantastic when people 00:21:13.61\00:21:17.57 learned to tune in to the animal 00:21:17.60\00:21:19.97 world how much control there can be over. 00:21:20.00\00:21:23.35 Over an animal. An animal, yes, yes, 00:21:23.38\00:21:25.39 but we can't take time for that now, 00:21:25.42\00:21:28.15 right, but I would like to say that man was 00:21:28.18\00:21:31.64 designed in such a way that 00:21:31.67\00:21:33.62 had he always been true to God. 00:21:33.65\00:21:35.43 He would always have had 00:21:36.12\00:21:37.71 the control over the animal, but what 00:21:38.40\00:21:42.56 would be the purpose of that control. 00:21:42.59\00:21:44.28 God is love. God's very nature is love, 00:21:45.57\00:21:49.08 and God chose to love his creatures through man. 00:21:49.49\00:21:53.80 Amen, but you know, a thought that pops up 00:21:54.09\00:21:56.14 into my mind. A question, and you might not 00:21:56.17\00:21:58.25 want to deal with it right now, 00:21:58.28\00:21:59.25 that's fine if you don't. 00:21:59.27\00:22:00.24 If it's another program that we do 00:22:00.25\00:22:01.47 together that's fine too. But I'm thinking 00:22:01.50\00:22:04.58 how can I get a hold of this so that I can 00:22:05.06\00:22:07.01 understand my children better or how can I a 00:22:07.04\00:22:09.03 hold of this so that I can understand my wife or 00:22:09.06\00:22:10.83 husband better, how can I, 00:22:10.86\00:22:12.13 how does this work in every day life? 00:22:12.76\00:22:14.88 It's probable that we should deal with it 00:22:14.91\00:22:16.83 later on but just let me say this we do need 00:22:17.56\00:22:20.84 to understand that our children have 00:22:20.87\00:22:24.00 when they're born into this world, 00:22:24.03\00:22:25.52 they do not yet have the ability to function 00:22:26.02\00:22:30.34 on this level, they do begin functioning 00:22:30.37\00:22:33.26 on this level, right, and if we understand that, 00:22:33.29\00:22:36.08 it helps us, we can talk about it's implications 00:22:36.11\00:22:38.28 later, okay, good, it's extremely important 00:22:38.31\00:22:40.18 but many times we fail to understand the nature 00:22:40.54\00:22:44.10 of the child and therefore, 00:22:44.13\00:22:45.45 we're not able to relate properly, right, 00:22:45.48\00:22:47.95 and educate them properly. Yes, absolutely. 00:22:47.98\00:22:50.32 Do you know, what I'm hearing, what I'm hearing 00:22:50.35\00:22:52.69 of Pastor Moore say, then is that God made us 00:22:52.72\00:22:56.99 if we can divide the indivisible that we have a 00:22:57.40\00:23:01.09 component that communicates with him 00:23:01.12\00:23:03.52 of which is the higher side of us, 00:23:04.16\00:23:05.97 which is the part that was made in his image 00:23:06.48\00:23:08.10 and then we have a part of us that's very much 00:23:08.53\00:23:10.81 like the rest of the animal kingdom. Yeah. 00:23:12.77\00:23:14.90 And of course, you know, the spirit of prophecy 00:23:15.64\00:23:18.18 talks about the animal nature, 00:23:18.21\00:23:20.36 yes, yes, and so forth. Well, now what you're 00:23:20.39\00:23:22.88 really saying is the animal nature as in man 00:23:22.91\00:23:26.34 as God instituted it was under the control 00:23:26.37\00:23:29.70 of the higher, of the higher parts of man 00:23:29.73\00:23:33.41 but that in sin probably that's been reversed 00:23:34.06\00:23:37.08 that the spiritual part of the man is diminished, 00:23:37.41\00:23:40.68 in fact sin probably badly damaged it, 00:23:41.06\00:23:43.62 and now even in our present societies these 00:23:44.05\00:23:47.23 parts you call instinct it's the fleshly part, 00:23:47.26\00:23:50.42 it's the hormones, it's the emotions. 00:23:50.45\00:23:52.45 That you hear so much about. 00:23:52.89\00:23:54.10 In another words this part of reason and judgment 00:23:54.46\00:23:58.20 and so forth now is being played down. yes. 00:23:58.23\00:24:00.94 Do whatever you wanted to do what you know 00:24:01.25\00:24:02.86 whatever feels good. 00:24:02.89\00:24:03.96 If it's right, if it's right to you. 00:24:03.99\00:24:05.31 Which is catering to this? Let it all hang on, 00:24:05.76\00:24:07.17 which is Catering to the animal side. 00:24:07.88\00:24:12.47 The animal side which has no intellectual function, 00:24:12.50\00:24:17.02 right, none at all, the instincts simply operate. 00:24:17.05\00:24:21.83 They don't think, they have no conscience, 00:24:22.20\00:24:25.95 there is nothing at all except 00:24:26.33\00:24:28.67 feeling and stimulation response. 00:24:28.70\00:24:31.84 Let's put this into some real practical stuff. 00:24:31.87\00:24:34.35 So, yeah, that reminds me a couple of dogs. 00:24:34.38\00:24:36.11 In other words when you smell that pizza 00:24:36.14\00:24:38.45 you don't have to say, suddenly something takes 00:24:38.48\00:24:40.54 over and says I'm gonna peg out on pizza, 00:24:40.57\00:24:42.30 or when you hear certain kinds of music. 00:24:43.05\00:24:44.55 You don't have to, in other words there's 00:24:44.58\00:24:45.90 something inside that just responds, 00:24:45.93\00:24:47.24 that just responds to that. 00:24:47.27\00:24:48.73 The animal, the animal responds. 00:24:48.76\00:24:50.56 And it's the animal and it's built in 00:24:50.59\00:24:51.94 you're saying, you don't have to do anything, 00:24:51.97\00:24:53.55 you don't have to know anything, you know 00:24:53.58\00:24:55.76 when we speak about music even a child speak 00:24:55.79\00:24:57.72 this big you turn on certain kinds of music. 00:24:57.75\00:24:58.97 Yes. You don't even have to talk about 00:24:59.00\00:25:00.28 music just watch the child. 00:25:00.31\00:25:01.28 If they're big enough to stand they will. 00:25:01.29\00:25:03.39 They will do whatever goes with the music. 00:25:03.80\00:25:05.76 Yes, it's possible. You know, it's incredible. 00:25:05.79\00:25:09.38 Our time is passing by so fast, I want you to, 00:25:09.41\00:25:11.91 I know that you did a little recapping. 00:25:12.13\00:25:13.77 Have we done all that we want to do 00:25:13.80\00:25:15.04 before our time is up. 00:25:15.07\00:25:16.04 What you want us to remember 00:25:16.90\00:25:17.91 from this program Elder? 00:25:17.94\00:25:19.10 Well, I think what I like to do is to mention 00:25:19.13\00:25:22.46 that Genesis is the basis for family 00:25:22.88\00:25:25.84 and when God said, I want you to have 00:25:26.65\00:25:30.46 dominion over everything. He also says 00:25:30.49\00:25:32.57 I want you to multiply. 00:25:32.60\00:25:33.76 I want you to replenish the earth. 00:25:34.28\00:25:35.93 I want you to fill it full because I want 00:25:36.70\00:25:38.51 families in my earth and I want my families 00:25:38.54\00:25:43.42 to represent to the animal world and to all 00:25:43.45\00:25:46.21 other beings, yes, what I'm like. 00:25:46.24\00:25:48.90 In a way, I know it just sound an incredible, 00:25:49.48\00:25:52.64 we represent God to our little dog. 00:25:52.67\00:25:55.11 That's right. Only you can come up with that. 00:25:55.32\00:26:00.44 And not only that, but the dog worships 00:26:00.47\00:26:03.21 God by worshiping us. 00:26:03.24\00:26:04.69 Well, that makes me think of the birds 00:26:04.72\00:26:06.15 they sing the Lords praises they just do it. 00:26:06.18\00:26:08.38 Yes, they do. And when we have loving 00:26:08.41\00:26:11.92 relationships to animal by the way one of the great 00:26:11.95\00:26:14.21 tests of Christianity is how do we 00:26:14.24\00:26:15.88 treat our animals. Oh! Yes. That's true, 00:26:15.91\00:26:18.35 but you know when I said that about the birds, 00:26:18.72\00:26:20.16 do we praise we just, 00:26:20.19\00:26:22.11 we don't just praise from this. 00:26:22.14\00:26:23.86 See that's what their. I mean they do it. 00:26:24.35\00:26:26.07 That's their instinct, they do it but we don't. 00:26:26.10\00:26:27.70 We do it, if we doing it. True worship involves 00:26:27.73\00:26:32.31 the highest part of man's mind. 00:26:32.76\00:26:34.95 So then true worship would be trained into us then? 00:26:35.38\00:26:38.02 That's right. What do you think Dick? 00:26:38.05\00:26:39.85 I've heard in this program something that 00:26:40.18\00:26:42.15 I hadn't thought about before, Pastor Moore, 00:26:42.18\00:26:45.55 he's kind of told us that God created us 00:26:45.58\00:26:48.18 with an animal nature, in another words we 00:26:48.21\00:26:50.79 have that part that's link with 00:26:50.82\00:26:52.23 the rest of the animal kingdom. 00:26:52.26\00:26:53.54 It's not necessarily bad now sin has spun it out 00:26:53.87\00:26:57.69 our relationship with the higher capacity of man 00:26:57.72\00:27:01.96 and therefore we need to do then is to put it 00:27:02.35\00:27:05.41 back in prospective where we are now relating 00:27:05.71\00:27:08.78 from the higher sources of reason and that 00:27:08.81\00:27:11.30 this animal side of us is in subjection. Amen. 00:27:11.33\00:27:14.00 This is what I am going to say. 00:27:14.03\00:27:15.94 And the more that know that in our homes 00:27:15.97\00:27:17.76 the more prepared we can be for heaven. 00:27:17.79\00:27:19.50 Is that not so? That's right. 00:27:19.53\00:27:20.50 Alright, you know we usually go out with prayer 00:27:20.51\00:27:22.78 Pastor Moore, I would appreciate it then if you 00:27:22.81\00:27:24.89 would take us out with prayer. Alright. Okay. 00:27:24.92\00:27:27.34 Father in heaven, thank you so much 00:27:27.37\00:27:29.36 for your wonderful goodness, thank you for 00:27:29.39\00:27:32.51 creating us in such a marvelous way 00:27:33.02\00:27:35.49 and thank you for your love which despite 00:27:36.46\00:27:39.33 our desegregations are caused by sin that you 00:27:39.68\00:27:43.81 still love us and you still have a plan for us, 00:27:43.84\00:27:47.06 and that you do want to show us 00:27:47.57\00:27:50.48 how we can live this zoo of sin and captivity 00:27:50.83\00:27:55.57 to our own emotions and so that 00:27:55.60\00:27:58.28 we can live in function under the direction. 00:27:58.31\00:28:01.68
