00:32 Welcome to Thinking About Home,
00:33 I am Kathy Matthews and I'm glad 00:35 you're back with us again. 00:36 Our guests today are John and Millie Youngberg. 00:40 And I just want to welcome them again. 00:42 We're going to be talking about Sabbath family 00:45 traditions today, aren't we? 00:46 And I want to tell our viewers 00:50 I want you to tell our viewers 00:52 what you are linked with or your work. 00:54 What do you work with on marriage and family? 00:56 We are marriage and family commitment incorporated, 01:00 incorporated. Yes that's right 01:02 I just wanted to be able to get that end again 01:03 so that those who haven't seen you 01:05 before they know where your work is and 01:08 what you are doing and. 01:09 This is something that's really close to my heart. 01:11 I've traveled around and as we visit churches 01:15 and we get to know people, 01:16 it's not always found that the people are 01:20 remembering or do they know sometimes 01:22 what they want to do or what they need to do 01:25 to prepare and get ready for Sabbath 01:27 and have things that they get involved 01:31 with their families and make traditions 01:33 in their families. So John what have been 01:37 some of the traditions that you've had 01:39 for Sabbath preparation and family traditions. 01:42 Well Kathy family means certain things to us. 01:45 It probably means Veggie Wieners 01:46 It or rebook cook and the, 01:51 our sons were born in the South America 01:53 and they got a custom to eating cook 01:55 and a Germen cake, right, on Friday night. 01:58 It probably means going out. 02:02 Millie and I would say give us an hour on Sabbath 02:06 afternoon to do our thing maybe take a little nap 02:10 or whatever. And after that 02:12 the afternoon is yours and we went everywhere 02:16 over Southern Michigan, 02:18 climbed every tree and then we've been some, 02:21 you did a lot of hiking, 02:22 and the kids knew that they could expect 02:25 our attention on Sabbath afternoon. 02:28 Right! And you've got a especial burden 02:30 I think to talk about the preparation day, 02:32 don't you? Yes I do. 02:33 Because I think many people don't know 02:36 that there is a need for preparation 02:38 in order to enjoy the Sabbath fully 02:41 that if we do prepare then we can have this time 02:44 as more of a Holy sacred time and yet 02:47 a fun time and enjoyable time. 02:48 And so I felt it was very important that 02:53 we prepared our home and ourselves for the Sabbath. 02:57 I guess I go back to my childhood, 03:02 I didn't that grow up Seventh-day Adventist. 03:04 I didn't know how to keep the Sabbath. 03:06 But I started keeping the Sabbath 03:10 and I would not work on Friday, 03:13 I would work on Friday evening 03:15 but I wouldn't work Saturday. 03:17 And then at home I would go to, 03:20 I would go to church and then at home 03:22 I would say, oh where do I go now. 03:24 So I clean out the doors and doors, 03:26 with the house things. 03:27 So you really didn't learn. 03:28 You didn't know at the time. 03:29 No I did not know. 03:30 But when I went to college there were girls 03:32 there who had good mothers 03:34 who taught them how to keep the Sabbath, amen, 03:36 and how to prepare for the Sabbath 03:38 and they taught me, amen. 03:40 And so it was very important for me to get 03:42 my house very clean. 03:45 And so as a whole family we would clean the house. 03:49 Everybody was bustling around doing 03:51 all sorts of things in the home and then 03:53 we try to get our food prepared for the Sabbath. 03:55 We all try to take our bowls and we all prepared. 04:01 You know I was thinking about when Moses went up 04:04 on the top of the mountain 04:05 and the people came he asked them to 04:08 come around the mountain. 04:10 And they were told to bathe and be cleaned, 04:14 and be ready. 04:15 So if we are ready for God for Jesus to come 04:19 into our home, to come and meet with us, 04:20 I know He is with us all the time. 04:21 I mean to come in specially and, especially, 04:23 and I think there is too, 04:24 the angels love to be where we have prepared 04:29 for the Sabbath and where we have been orderly 04:32 and clean and ready for them. 04:34 I think, just like the Zacchaeus story 04:36 when Jesus says Zacchaeus 04:40 I'm gonna be in your house today. Oh yes. 04:43 And he came down from the tree 04:45 and received Jesus into his house. 04:47 Well Sabbath is really a time that we receive 04:50 Jesus into our house a special guest. 04:53 Alright, a special guest! I would like to mention 04:55 I usually did my own homework 04:57 but there was a period of time 04:59 where we had a girl from Bolivia, 05:01 Delia who lived in our home 05:03 and it was so special to walk into the house 05:06 after she had our home all ready 05:09 and our meals all ready for our family 05:12 and I walk in the house and I would smell the 05:15 potato dish being prepared, 05:19 the aroma would just come meet you at the door. 05:21 And then there was a bread baking 05:24 and you could smell the fragrance there 05:26 but besides that there was some mingling 05:28 of lemon pledge that had been used 05:31 on the furniture and as we took our baths, 05:35 there's a smell of dove and all the cleaning 05:38 ingredients and shampoo fragrances and all, 05:41 and I said you know I think God likes this. 05:44 I think it's like a incense 05:47 that we sent to the father. 05:49 And it's saying to him we are ready for you 05:52 and we are ready for the Sabbath. 05:54 We are ready to worship God. 05:57 We don't have to worry about all things 06:00 that we still have to do. 06:01 Right, and we are ready for the God 06:03 and it brings the Holiness into our home 06:08 and, it's exciting to have that feeling that 06:12 you are ready for your Lord. 06:14 And if the parents are involved 06:15 that transfers over to the children's feelings 06:17 and if you get them involved in preparing 06:20 for the Sabbath and having them 06:22 to recognize it. Now I want 06:23 to go back just a second about the, 06:24 around the world or rather about the fragrances 06:28 because around the world maybe not everyone 06:31 has all of those fragrances. 06:33 But what is just as important is orderliness 06:36 in preparing that for your home, 06:39 your cleanliness and things like that. 06:41 I think that's important to mention 06:44 since not everybody will have what we have. 06:46 I knew of a young fellow. 06:48 He only had one pair of pants. 06:50 But Friday afternoon he came back from school 06:53 and he went down to the creek 06:54 and he washed those pants. 06:55 He dried them out there and they were ready 06:58 in clean for the Sabbath. Amen, right. 07:00 And all of that preparation, 07:02 I remember when I was learning about 07:05 all of this and the couple that nurtured my husband 07:08 and I into the church, 07:09 we didn't have any children at the time, 07:11 but they nurtured us into the church 07:13 and as I began to read and really get involved 07:17 into what God had for me for the Sabbath. 07:20 One of the things that was really important 07:23 to me was to put away our sins to be sure that 07:28 we were in harmony with each other 07:29 and as the Sabbath drew near 07:32 that we were timely with what we were doing 07:36 and it took a lot of thought and planning. 07:38 You're saying Cathy that it's not just 07:40 a physical material preparation of polishing 07:44 your shoes or taking the bath. 07:45 There's also a heart preparation, 07:47 yes there is, asking the God 07:49 to forgive us our sins. 07:50 Absolutely and making things right 07:52 and harmonious in our home. 07:53 And that if the world understood, 07:57 if even all the people of God's family understood 08:01 how close that could bring you, 08:03 if you practice these things than a lot 08:06 of our heartaches, pains would not be there 08:09 because we've made it right with one another. 08:12 You know Friday is very difficult 08:16 because we have all our goals, 08:18 all these things we wanna do before 08:20 the Sun goes down. We wanna be ready 08:23 and so sometimes we get a little annoyed 08:25 and we were tried to encourage 08:27 the children to help with the cleaning 08:29 and so there can be some conflict on Friday. 08:32 And sometimes I feel like the devil works 08:34 the hardest. Well I was just gonna 08:35 say something like that. It seems that way. 08:37 But you know how you can eliminate a lot of that. 08:39 Friday is the preparation day. 08:41 But we start early. But we start early. 08:43 I wanna you to say something about that. 08:45 I wanna go back to this, on Friday 08:49 when we can't get all upset with each other. 08:52 I was thinking of one time Wes was going upstairs 08:57 and I was going downstairs. 08:59 And we had had some conflict 09:02 and so as we were passing on a stairway. 09:05 Now Wes is your son. Wes is our son. 09:07 And as we were passing on the stairway 09:09 I said Wes I'm sorry I got all uptight 09:11 when the situation happened, 09:14 he says oh mom that's alright. 09:15 I caused you to get uptight. 09:17 You know so this is kind of on the run 09:19 please forgive me. 09:21 But we really cannot into what the Sabbath day 09:25 when we are angry with each other 09:27 on the Sabbath. 09:29 Yeah, I think that's important to remember 09:30 as much as the, just the preparing physically 09:35 like you were talking about. 09:36 Well you're gonna say something else about that. 09:38 You look like maybe you have 09:39 something on your mind. 09:40 Well I was gonna say that really 09:42 there are six days of preparation. 09:44 Right! That's what I was talking about 09:45 at a moment ago. 09:46 And so remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 09:50 And I'm gonna come back to this. 09:51 If we don't remember from Sunday 09:54 through Friday we won't be ready on Sabbath. 09:58 Right! So we need to have a lot of 09:59 forethought into it right. 10:01 We don't want to get into that too soon I suppose. 10:03 Where we're going next? 10:05 You mentioned earlier about some missionary 10:07 family stories, you can tell us 10:09 about their Friday worships and so forth. 10:11 A while ago we were talking about your family 10:14 before we are on the set and you mentioned 10:18 you had some special memories. 10:19 And many people have special memories 10:22 that take them back to their early childhood 10:24 and I think of one of my friends, 10:26 her name is Bonnie. 10:27 And she said that there were missionaries 10:30 in South America. 10:31 John they were in what country? 10:33 In Bolivia! In Bolivia! 10:35 And they lived way, way out from, 10:37 on the headwaters of the Amazon. 10:39 Yeah! Wow! So they are way off 10:42 from other people. 10:43 So Sabbath was really very special to them. 10:45 They look forward to the Sabbath 10:47 and they had a special rug. 10:50 It was an alpaca rug and the whole family 10:54 got on this rug. 10:55 And they wanted to make the Sabbath a special. 10:59 They wanted to feel like God 11:04 was with them there in the mission field 11:06 and they would sing their songs 11:08 but they had your story hour tapes 11:10 and they could be only listen to on Sabbath, 11:14 on Friday evening. 11:15 So they save it as special. 11:16 They save it for the Sabbath hours. 11:18 They also had the Bible stories 11:20 and that was just for the Sabbath hours 11:23 and Bonnie said I was an avid reader 11:26 and I wanted to hear the rest of the story. 11:28 And I could hardly wait, 11:30 until next Friday evening, 11:31 until next Friday to hear the rest of the story. 11:33 Yes. And the food they planned some special food 11:37 and they brought in from the distinct lands, 11:40 chocolates so they can have hot chocolate 11:43 on that evening. And they had their 11:47 special songs that they sing, 11:49 "Days dying in the West", 11:50 and all these kinds of things. 11:51 But they said now their family continues 11:56 to do some of the things that she did 11:58 when she was a child. 12:00 Right! They also have a rug. 12:03 They get on the rug and they start playing 12:07 tapes of the songs that they played 12:11 when she was a young girl. 12:13 And they play these songs, 12:15 30 minutes before the Sabbath arrives, 12:18 really, to bring them into the mood 12:20 of having worshiped. 12:21 And so they are just lot of nice memories. 12:25 That makes me think though of the same thing 12:27 that we did, of course I don't know 12:29 how far back that was and 12:31 and we did some of the programs here on 3ABN, 12:33 where we had the menorah 12:35 and we had our candles lit and daddy 12:39 had the special one in the center 12:41 and it all had it's meaning to us 12:43 and we would do that at home 12:45 we turn the lights out, light these candles 12:46 and the girls were smaller 12:48 and we did this for several years. 12:49 And our menorah is packed right now, 12:52 but we miss that and they have long 12:54 memories about that. And we would look over the, 12:56 we would get down like this in the living room 12:58 floor and look over the table and through the 13:01 candle light each others eyes and we would say 13:04 thank you as we lit our candles 13:06 and so forth like that we had fruit soup 13:08 you talked about. 13:09 We would have fruit soup 13:10 and bread and things like that, 13:12 they remember the lot. 13:13 And just a second and the other thing 13:17 was the special music. 13:18 We had special music that we only play it 13:19 on Friday when we were preparing the house. 13:23 And we still like that music for preparation day. 13:26 And the girls would say, 13:28 Oh! Every time I hear that I think of preparing 13:30 for Sabbath. And that's what we want. 13:33 That's the way we like it. 13:34 Yes! When you were speaking of music 13:36 I also thought about our family on Friday evening, 13:40 we would have a special record at that time. 13:44 That was played just as everyone 13:46 went to bed and it was, 13:48 how long has it been since you talked with the Lord. 13:51 Oh! Yes. And that means so much 13:52 to us even today, and then on Sabbath. 13:54 Nostalgia! Yes it is. 13:56 And then in the morning while the kids 13:59 are rising we put the heritage song, 14:02 The King Is Coming. Oh! Yes. 14:05 And it was exciting and it just made you realize 14:08 that this is gonna be a special day, 14:10 the King of Kings is in our home, 14:12 and we're going to worship today 14:14 this beautiful King. That's beautiful. 14:15 Well, you want to add anymore about this 14:19 or let's move on to music 14:20 and the worship hours. 14:21 Well we are used to sing 14:26 "Day is dying in the West". 14:27 It's still a tradition. It's a good one. 14:30 We still do that. And then there is also a song 14:32 that our granddaughters, 14:34 grandmother had prepared 14:36 and we would sing that sometime. 14:39 It's in the hymn too. 14:40 But we had a friend K.B. Myers 14:44 who is an author and then a composer of music 14:47 and we said we want a new song to sing. 14:51 And we commissioned her to do it 14:54 and she wrote the song 14:55 "Welcome, Welcome Sabbath Day", 14:57 and it's in the mind of key, 14:59 so it kind goes along with the Jewish 15:02 traditional sounds, right. 15:04 And I like the words. 15:05 And we start with on Friday evening preparing 15:11 for the Sabbath and so on. 15:12 The second stanza is at the close of the Sabbath. 15:15 But John the verses so special 15:17 would you just read the first one, 15:19 the first stanza which deals with Friday Evening. 15:23 "With the set of sun the Sabbath day 15:26 has now begun. 15:27 We remember how God rested 15:29 when His work was done. 15:31 He had breath the brand new world, 15:34 a beauty piece in harmony then 15:36 He made a special day to spend 15:38 with his new family. 15:39 Welcome, Welcome Sabbath day, 15:43 the Queen of all the week. 15:45 Come Lord Jesus; come to us, 15:48 your presence sweet we seek. 15:52 Speak to us through your Holy Word 15:55 through the flower bride 15:57 and the singing bird, 15:58 through the rippling brook 16:00 and wind soft touch. 16:02 Dear, dear Jesus we love you very much. 16:06 Amen. That's beautiful. 16:08 And we sing it. 16:09 And, and it moves right along. 16:10 If you have a minor key slow 16:12 it's a thinner drudge, 16:14 but if you have one that moves right along, 16:16 it's very alive and happy. 16:17 Oh! Is that right? 16:18 I would like to hear it. 16:19 I wish we could have heard it, 16:20 I know that we would, 16:21 we had wanted but it was just impossible 16:23 but I thank you for reading the words. 16:24 Music is really so important for Friday 16:29 evening to get everybody going. 16:31 And we just like this particular song 16:35 we just thankful that the Lord impressed her, 16:38 what to say in the song. Okay. 16:41 Now we wanna go to, we've had a wonderful 16:44 Sabbath day and we could say what are the elements 16:50 that day would have in it. Okay. 16:53 So you come on Sabbath day 16:55 what made this a great day, 16:56 what makes it a good Sabbath. 16:58 And I just like to mention maybe five things 17:02 with a little introduction. 17:03 Really the business of life I think Kathy 17:07 is to make good memories. 17:09 You know they can take everything 17:11 else away from us, 17:12 we can lose our material blessings, yes, 17:14 but those memories nobody can, 17:16 it becomes really important 17:18 as we grow along. 17:19 So we look back as a family 17:22 and as children and we have nostalgia 17:26 as we think of those Sabbath traditions 17:29 and memories. To be a good Sabbath, 17:31 I think that there ought to be a time 17:33 of personal growth, a personal devotion 17:37 with the Lord that we come to the end 17:39 of the day and we say I feel renewed, 17:43 I feel restored from that whole experience. 17:47 But I think Kathy that in order to have 17:51 that we would have to plan all during the week. 17:54 If I was running around like a chicken 17:57 and the head cutoff for six days 17:59 then I come to Sun down 18:02 and probably the best thing 18:03 I could do is a collapse. 18:04 We feel like a chicken 18:05 with her head cut off, alright. 18:06 And so keeping the Sabbath Jesus 18:12 said broadly, Ten Commandments 18:13 say remember the Seventh-day, 18:15 the Sabbath day to keep it holy. 18:17 I need to remember all week. 18:19 And Millie and I have to look at our own lifestyle 18:23 and maybe our viewers feel the same way 18:25 that this really calls us to a kind of a lifestyle 18:29 all week long that if we can't keep to Sabbath 18:33 right because life is just to busy 18:35 something is wrong with the other six days 18:39 and maybe we're not really living 18:41 in God's priorities and with God's agenda. 18:44 We need to check ourselves 18:45 out a little bit. That's right. 18:46 This is a little evaluation form, 18:47 so. Going back to this planning to make it 18:51 really special, there was one family 18:54 that I knew that, 18:56 they would always ask the children 18:57 now Sabbath it will be here in three days 18:59 what would you like to do during the Sabbath time? 19:02 And often the children say we wanna go this zoo, 19:05 or we wanna go on this walk or down 19:07 to the beach to walk through the shores 19:09 or whatever, but the parents 19:11 said if you can't think of something 19:14 that you would like to do we can think of 19:16 something for you. But they always gave 19:18 the children the chance to say, 19:21 hey let's do this and then they would be happier 19:24 because they were doing what they would like to do. 19:26 Right! You know if I could add something 19:28 that happened here I think I've said it 19:30 recently to someone else but I would like to add it 19:33 here as well. My daughter and I, 19:35 our older daughter who was leaving, 19:38 she'd been home for the first time in five years 19:40 and it was a special time for her to be at home 19:43 for longer than ten days or two days 19:47 or something like that. 19:48 And it was coming close for her 19:49 not to be leaving again. 19:51 And my husband and our younger daughter 19:53 had gone off to a crusade 19:54 and they were working in that 19:56 and the two of us had stayed back home. 19:59 And at the time we live up in South Dakota 20:01 and we were walking down. 20:03 We had exercise in the afternoon little bit 20:05 after everything else and then we were walking down 20:08 the road and there was a beaver pond. 20:10 There is a beaver pond and the red, 20:12 red rocks are there on the side 20:14 and it echoes all around and the water 20:17 was clear and that night the moon was coming up. 20:19 So we sat out there Friday evening 20:21 and we said why don't we just get on the rock 20:23 and welcome the Sabbath for, 20:25 out here tonight. 20:26 So before that was happening, 20:28 just you know before the sunset 20:30 and we were on the rock and she laid, 20:33 she is 20 and she laid her head on my lap 20:35 and we just wrapped up around each other 20:37 and it was kind of cool so we were really 20:39 kind of getting close and warm with each other 20:41 and because it's important in her life 20:44 is to who her companion maybe in the future. 20:47 We had a special talk about that sort of thing 20:50 and how God would feel about it 20:52 and we entered into the Sabbath 20:54 with a prayer there on the rock as the moon 20:56 came up over the beaver pond and, 20:58 and she had tears running down her face and I know, 21:02 she told me she wrote in her journal 21:04 this has burned into my memory. 21:06 I'll never forget the warmth 21:07 that we have there and as we prayed maybe 21:10 there is someone that will be for her future 21:13 young man, for her companion 21:17 that who might be praying 21:18 under this moonlit night tonight. 21:19 And, but we brought in the Sabbath this way 21:23 and it was very, very nice. 21:25 And it's, we'll never forget it. 21:26 I think John and his son, 21:28 our son John had a very special Sabbath 21:32 once on the canoe where a blessing was given. 21:37 He was 40 and we went out to camping 21:41 just the two of us again. 21:42 Really! And in a canoe out there in the lake, 21:46 Sabbath ahead our Bible study 21:49 and I said son I'm being hungry 21:51 let's go back in the camp and chow down. 21:53 He said wait a minute dad, 21:54 he says like ask your favor. 21:57 I said what it would be. 21:59 He said I'd like to ask you to give me 22:02 the paternal blessing. 22:04 Oh! I think that's beautiful. 22:06 And tears are coming in your eyes. 22:08 And so these two grown men right 22:11 in the middle of a canoe 22:12 and I put my hands son John's head 22:17 said the Lord bless you and keep you 22:19 the Lord lift up his come, 22:20 lifts upon you and give you peace, 22:23 and made a personalized special prayer 22:27 for his particular circumstance, 22:29 and I finished that prayer. 22:31 There were tears coming down 22:33 and she sees two grown men out there 22:36 in the middle of that lake. Yes. I like that. 22:37 I like that and tears in Millie's eyes right now. 22:40 There are just some of these very special 22:41 moments on the Sabbath hours 22:45 where you can have freedom to talk 22:47 and get close to each other. 22:48 I'm thankful that you're intimidated 22:50 by that request and that you could follow 22:52 through as a father. 22:53 Okay, you know we don't have a lot of time 22:55 left you've got a lot to say of it. 22:57 So a good Sabbath would say 22:59 a time of personal growth, 23:01 a time for also a time for corporate worship. 23:05 We shouldn't forget the meeting together, 23:08 fellowship together, 23:09 as a church family we need each other 23:11 as a family. And then 23:14 the prayers of those I love, that's right. 23:16 I think a good Sabbath are 23:18 that have family time in it. 23:21 God made the family at creation 23:23 God also made the Sabbath its creation. 23:26 Now the two were made for each other. 23:28 We could establish that theologically. 23:30 It's a time for nature and we were saying before, 23:37 yes, nature is a necessarily 23:39 God's second proclamation. 23:40 Oh! We were talking about that. 23:41 Yeah Jim Tucker told me that 23:43 the first time I ever heard that because 23:45 usually we hear that God's second book 23:48 of nature, but he says now I think God's 23:50 first book was nature because it was there before 23:53 anything was written. Go ahead. 23:55 But I just want to add to this children 23:58 are so energetic ours were, 24:00 oh they were all over the place. 24:01 They had so much energy and when we took 24:05 a mountain nature, 24:06 by the end of the day 24:08 they had lost some of their energy 24:11 but it was so much fun. 24:12 I remember there was a tree 24:15 where it was hollowed out and the children 24:18 will go up top of the tree and stand up 24:21 and poke their head out from the top of the tree. 24:24 And we would go to the sand dunes 24:27 and just we had such a wonderful time. 24:29 We have unbelievable memories. 24:31 The family with some friends 24:33 up on top of the sand dunes by Lake Michigan, 24:35 the Sun going down on the West 24:37 and it happened that as that golden orb 24:40 just hit their horizon situated there 24:44 with the skyscrapers in Chicago 24:46 with what at that time was a world's tallest 24:49 building right in the Sun. 24:50 And you just can't forget these 24:53 kinds of things. 24:54 Right all those are beautiful memories. 24:56 I just enjoy them so much. What else? 24:58 I think Kathy that the Sabbath 25:01 will be a day you can look back on 25:03 and say well we did some good 25:05 maybe let's take a flower to a neighbor 25:07 or food basket or whatever, 25:11 singing thing in the nursing home 25:13 or other thing, visit a prison camp, 25:15 a prison man or whatever, doing good. 25:16 Mother can make some extra dessert 25:19 and take over to an inviolate or someone else. 25:22 I think that's another, that's do good, 25:24 having been made on the preparation day 25:26 or the other day, yeah that's right, 25:27 and if we probably think of these doing 25:31 good things on Thursday, 25:33 Friday or earlier in the wake. 25:35 Well there was something 25:38 that I was thinking of a moment ago 25:39 about the Sabbath and Sister White talked 25:44 about how Kellogg taught their children 25:46 and he would point out things in nature 25:49 and teach them about God. 25:51 So it wasn't just a rip snorting day 25:54 necessarily out. No. And I was taught 25:57 when I first came into the church to remember 26:00 to speak about God as we were out in nature 26:03 and to trying the children to think about 26:05 things of nature and we did a little game 26:09 where we would gather up things 26:10 and at the end at whispers at the end of Sabbath 26:13 on Saturday night, we would say what does 26:17 this remind you out of God's word 26:19 and how does this reminds you of the 26:20 blood of Christ or and they would tell us 26:22 little things like that, out of nature they would 26:25 gather up pieces of things. 26:26 I think we're saying that Sabbath 26:28 is special and these memories are primate 26:31 the whole week. I tell you a story 26:33 that a missionary traveled to far away 26:35 land and there he was, 26:37 they just had their worship and suddenly 26:41 there was a knock at his door. 26:42 So he went to see who was there 26:45 and there was indigenous man 26:47 from that country and he said well 26:48 I would like to join your church. 26:50 And the missionary was a little mystified 26:54 and it said well you must have come 26:56 and heard my meetings, haven't you? 26:58 No I never heard your meetings. 26:59 Have you read a book? 27:01 I don't know your black book. 27:04 Well what do you know? 27:06 He said well I have heard the laughter 27:10 and the singing in your home 27:11 and I would like my home to be just like yours. 27:15 Oh! Amen. A witness isn't it? 27:17 You know I want to thank you. 27:19 You're going to be coming back 27:20 we're gonna do some really special Sabbath 27:21 tradition things right, next time. 27:24 And I want to invite our viewers to come back 27:27 with us and if your Sabbath is not exactly 27:31 the way you would like for to be, 27:33 just listen to this and pray about it 27:35 and may the Lord bless you as you 27:38 incorporate these things into your life. 27:40 And I'm going to ask Millie to pray for us 27:42 as we go out, please pray for us. 27:43 Dear heavenly Father we just thank you 27:48 that you gave us a Sabbath day. 27:51 Lord we can come apart in rest of all. 27:54 You knew we need it the Sabbath, you know. |
