(Miss Ruthie) Hello boys and girls. Welcome to Starting with 00:00:25.82\00:00:28.66 Jesus where we want to encourage you to start everything you do 00:00:28.69\00:00:32.23 with Jesus. Today we are still in that last week before Jesus's 00:00:32.26\00:00:39.73 death and we're going to be learning a little bit about a 00:00:39.77\00:00:42.14 special service that Jesus had with His disciples, but before 00:00:42.17\00:00:46.68 we have our Bible story, let's start with some singing. 00:00:46.71\00:00:50.48 ¤ ¤ 00:00:50.51\00:00:55.22 ¤ ¤ 00:02:03.39\00:02:07.36 ¤ ¤ 00:03:09.65\00:03:14.96 ¤ ¤ 00:04:29.13\00:04:34.50 Hello boys and girls. Have you ever wondered if the miracles 00:04:34.54\00:04:38.81 that happened in Bible times can still, happen today? (Miss 00:04:38.84\00:04:43.35 Milca) This story takes place in the south part of Venezuela. And 00:04:43.38\00:04:47.92 there's a huge Indian population and a lot of tribes there. A lot 00:04:47.95\00:04:52.89 of stuff was going on down there a lot of injustices to the 00:04:52.92\00:04:57.99 Indians and finally people down there went on protest. The 00:04:58.03\00:05:02.36 government sent his soldiers. Well, the soldiers decided that 00:05:02.40\00:05:08.70 they wanted to take over and attack a little village that is 00:05:08.74\00:05:12.67 there called Maracha. Maracha has an Adventist school and 00:05:12.71\00:05:17.81 there's a lot of Seventh-day Adventist Christians who live 00:05:17.85\00:05:21.22 there. Well the people there were so afraid because they 00:05:21.25\00:05:25.25 didn't have anything to defend themselves. So they went to the 00:05:25.29\00:05:29.12 only One who can help us win, and who is that? God, Jesus. So 00:05:29.16\00:05:33.66 they went in prayer pleading to God for their lives because they 00:05:33.70\00:05:37.33 were were in danger. Well, the day comes when the soldiers 00:05:37.37\00:05:42.40 start approaching the village and they're almost there at the 00:05:42.44\00:05:45.71 entrance when they see the tallest soldiers they had ever 00:05:45.74\00:05:50.21 seen in their lives. Not only the soldiers were tall but they 00:05:50.25\00:05:53.42 were big and strong and they had some guns that they had 00:05:53.45\00:05:57.79 never seen in their lives. One of the soldiers comes and lets 00:05:57.82\00:06:03.19 them know that they cannot go into the village because it is 00:06:03.22\00:06:06.09 protected by many of them. So the other soldiers turned around 00:06:06.13\00:06:12.90 they leave but they don't give up. They want to try to take 00:06:12.93\00:06:16.50 over the village one more time. So they tried to go towards the 00:06:16.54\00:06:19.67 evening. And as they're approaching the entrance, they 00:06:19.71\00:06:24.58 see more soldiers who are very tall and very strong with some 00:06:24.61\00:06:30.12 guns that they cannot identify. So they didn't even talk, they 00:06:30.15\00:06:34.96 just turned around and left. But they didn't want to give up. 00:06:34.99\00:06:37.33 They said, Okay, we're going to go through the entrance. Let's 00:06:37.36\00:06:40.26 try another side, you know, of this village and maybe we can 00:06:40.30\00:06:44.20 get in. And the next day, they tried that, but as they were 00:06:44.23\00:06:47.64 approaching a thick, black cloud comes down and blocks the way 00:06:47.67\00:06:55.11 and they said that they cannot see a thing. So you know what? 00:06:55.14\00:06:59.18 They got so afraid they decided to just go away. They don't want 00:06:59.21\00:07:02.65 to mess up with this village anymore and they left. Now I 00:07:02.68\00:07:05.79 ask you a question. Do you think the village was under a spell or 00:07:05.82\00:07:11.39 witchcraft? Of course not. It was God's power protecting His 00:07:11.43\00:07:16.33 faithful ones there who were pleading for their life. So do 00:07:16.36\00:07:20.74 you think those miracles happen today. Yes. This story that 00:07:20.77\00:07:24.21 I'm just telling you happened two years ago. So what happened 00:07:24.24\00:07:28.51 in Bible times, all those wonderful miracle stories 00:07:28.54\00:07:31.35 can still happen today. 00:07:31.38\00:07:33.52 ¤ ¤ 00:07:33.55\00:07:37.82 (Miss Michelle) All right, welcome back everybody. I'm so 00:07:37.85\00:07:39.39 glad to see you. I wish I could actually see you. That would be 00:07:39.42\00:07:42.56 so cool wouldn't it? If we could all sit down together and have a 00:07:42.59\00:07:45.76 meal together. Wouldn't that be really special? That's what our 00:07:45.79\00:07:49.20 story's about today actually. Thirteen people gathered around 00:07:49.23\00:07:52.90 a table in an upper room in a house inside Jerusalem. Can you 00:07:52.93\00:07:56.91 guess what I'm describing. That's right, the last supper. 00:07:56.94\00:08:00.38 Let's pray. 00:08:00.41\00:08:01.74 Dear heavenly Father, we praise and thank you for being here 00:08:01.78\00:08:05.15 with us, for sending your Holy Spirit as you have promised to 00:08:05.18\00:08:08.35 lead and guide us into all truth Please be with us as we continue 00:08:08.38\00:08:12.32 to talk about the events that happened during the last week of 00:08:12.35\00:08:15.12 your life on earth. In your name we pray, Amen. 00:08:15.16\00:08:17.29 Well if you've been following along in the story we're to 00:08:17.33\00:08:21.23 Thursday night of the last week of Jesus's life on earth. Right? 00:08:21.26\00:08:26.13 And we're going to pick up this story in Luke. Now this special 00:08:26.17\00:08:31.17 meal that we see the 13 people sharing together, in our minds 00:08:31.21\00:08:34.84 eye, of course, was one that the Israelites celebrated every year 00:08:34.88\00:08:39.61 And let's go to Luke 22. Luke, let's see what Dr. Luke has to 00:08:39.65\00:08:44.75 say, Luke chapter 22 verse 8: 00:08:44.79\00:08:50.33 And He [capital He so that's Jesus] said to Peter and John 00:08:50.36\00:08:56.30 saying, Go and prepare the Passover for us that we may eat. 00:08:56.33\00:09:00.14 So they said to Him, where do you want us to prepare? And He 00:09:00.17\00:09:04.94 said to them, Behold, when you have entered the city, a man 00:09:04.97\00:09:08.01 will meet you carrying a pitcher of water on his head. Follow him 00:09:08.04\00:09:12.81 into the house which he enters. 00:09:12.85\00:09:14.75 Oops, I added the head part. I was just picturing that. It just 00:09:14.78\00:09:16.12 says a pitcher of water. Maybe he was carrying it on his head, 00:09:16.38\00:09:19.95 maybe he had it under his arm. 00:09:19.99\00:09:21.32 Following him into the house that he enters. And you shall 00:09:21.36\00:09:25.79 say to the Master of the house, The teacher says to you, where 00:09:25.83\00:09:29.40 is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my 00:09:29.43\00:09:31.77 disciples. Then he will show you a large furnished upper room. 00:09:31.80\00:09:35.57 There make ready. 00:09:35.60\00:09:37.04 I love it. This reminds me of when He asked for the donkey. 00:09:37.07\00:09:40.04 Doesn't it? It seems like such an odd request and yet I'm sure 00:09:40.08\00:09:43.04 that the guy will say, Yes, here's the room. Right? 00:09:43.08\00:09:45.58 Sure enough. 00:09:45.61\00:09:46.95 So they went and found it just as He had said to them. And 00:09:46.98\00:09:49.88 they prepared the Passover. 00:09:49.92\00:09:51.25 Wow! This is so exciting, the Passover meal. Now this was 00:09:51.29\00:09:57.99 celebrating the original Passover. Do you remember when 00:09:58.03\00:10:00.53 that was. The first Passover, let's review that together. 00:10:00.56\00:10:03.87 It happened many, many hundreds of years before and that was the 00:10:03.90\00:10:08.50 night that the Israelites were freed from slavery and that was 00:10:08.54\00:10:14.64 the night of the final plague, the death of the firstborn son. 00:10:14.68\00:10:17.95 But the Israelites knew that if they put the blood of the lamb 00:10:17.98\00:10:22.48 on the doorposts and the lintel of their house that the angel of 00:10:22.52\00:10:27.22 death would pass over that house Now, of course, the lamb and the 00:10:27.26\00:10:31.26 blood pointed forward to Jesus and little did the disciples 00:10:31.29\00:10:35.03 know that this Passover was the last one that would meaningfully 00:10:35.06\00:10:39.03 point forward to Jesus. Because that very next day, on Friday, 00:10:39.07\00:10:44.34 Jesus would be crucified as that sacrificial lamb, the Passover 00:10:44.37\00:10:50.61 lamb, the true lamb of God. And as the disciples and Jesus ate 00:10:50.65\00:10:55.15 this meal, they didn't have to eat it in a quick manner like 00:10:55.18\00:10:57.72 the Israelites did on their way out of Egypt. Right? They could 00:10:57.75\00:11:01.96 relax and rest and have a special time to talk with each 00:11:01.99\00:11:07.36 other and for Jesus to share with them. Now Jesus though they 00:11:07.40\00:11:12.27 noticed was different right now. He was very sad and troubled. 00:11:12.30\00:11:15.54 And the disciples were definitely not ready for what 00:11:15.57\00:11:19.37 was to come. They were still vying for Jesus's attention and 00:11:19.41\00:11:22.98 were jealous of each other and they wanted the best of the best 00:11:23.01\00:11:25.58 for themselves. Judas had pushed his way all the way to be on the 00:11:25.61\00:11:30.55 side of Jesus, right next to Him on the left. Interesting if you 00:11:30.59\00:11:34.62 remember last week when we talked about the left and the 00:11:34.66\00:11:37.43 right. And John the disciples, often called the disciples whom 00:11:37.46\00:11:40.93 Jesus loved, sat on the right like the sheep. Right? As they 00:11:40.96\00:11:46.77 sat down for the meal there should have been a servant there 00:11:46.80\00:11:49.24 to wash their feet. Now their feet got super gross because 00:11:49.27\00:11:53.11 they did not have the sanitary practices that we have today. 00:11:53.14\00:11:56.44 So often waste, animal waste and human waste and junk would just 00:11:56.48\00:12:03.05 be in the street and then they would walk through it with their 00:12:03.08\00:12:04.85 sandals and it would be really gross. One of the disciples 00:12:04.89\00:12:08.42 should have realized, Oh wow, there's no servant here. I'm a 00:12:08.46\00:12:12.33 disciples of Jesus. I should be the one to do this. Somebody 00:12:12.36\00:12:15.86 must wash their feet and yet they didn't. This was Jesus's 00:12:15.90\00:12:19.57 chance to teach them a huge lesson in humility. So Jesus 00:12:19.60\00:12:22.40 took a towel and He took His outer garment off, His robe, and 00:12:22.44\00:12:26.24 He took the towel and He wrapped it around his waist and He took 00:12:26.27\00:12:30.78 a basin of water and He knelt down and He started washing the 00:12:30.81\00:12:34.88 disciples' feet and drying them on the towel around His waist. 00:12:34.92\00:12:38.95 Oh my! You can imagine the disciples' surprise and then 00:12:38.99\00:12:44.86 horror to realize that their Lord and teacher was washing 00:12:44.89\00:12:48.76 their feet. Oh my! They should be the ones doing that. Right? 00:12:48.80\00:12:52.67 And Jesus did that for them. It says in John, and all of the 00:12:52.70\00:12:59.41 gospels talk about the events in the last week of Jesus's life. 00:12:59.44\00:13:02.78 But we're going to go to John now. Jump over to John 13 verses 00:13:02.81\00:13:08.52 3-5 where it talks about Jesus washing the disciples feet. 00:13:08.55\00:13:11.92 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His 00:13:11.95\00:13:15.52 hands and that He had come from God and was going back to God, 00:13:15.56\00:13:19.03 rose from supper and laid aside His garments, took a towel and 00:13:19.06\00:13:22.66 girded Himself. After that He poured water into a basin and 00:13:22.70\00:13:25.63 began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the 00:13:25.67\00:13:28.90 towel which He had girded Himself about His waist. Then He 00:13:28.94\00:13:32.81 came to Simon Peter and Peter said to Him, [you know Peter 00:13:32.84\00:13:36.08 always had something to say didn't he, Haha, yes he did] 00:13:36.11\00:13:39.18 Lord, are you washing my feet? [Obvious question] And Jesus 00:13:39.21\00:13:44.89 said to him, What I am doing you do not understand now but you 00:13:44.92\00:13:48.36 will know after this. And Peter said to Him, You shall never 00:13:48.39\00:13:52.63 wash my feet! [No] Jesus answered him, If I do not wash 00:13:52.66\00:13:57.87 you, you will have no part with me. Simon Peter said to Him, Oh 00:13:57.90\00:14:03.87 Lord, not only my feet, also my hands, my head. [He was ready 00:14:03.91\00:14:08.41 for a full on shower, wasn't he] And Jesus said to him, he who 00:14:08.44\00:14:12.45 has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely 00:14:12.48\00:14:18.42 clean. And you are clean but not all of you. 00:14:18.45\00:14:23.59 Dun, dun, dun. Everyone looked around the room. Well who of us 00:14:23.63\00:14:26.06 is not clean? Jesus washed all of our feet. Hmm. Jesus even 00:14:26.09\00:14:33.54 washing Judas' feet didn't He. Judas had already, and He knew 00:14:33.57\00:14:38.41 Jesus had known this already. Judas had already gone to the 00:14:38.44\00:14:41.28 priests and rulers a couple of times and he had already agreed 00:14:41.31\00:14:44.31 to set Jesus up, to help them to get Jesus and yet he also 00:14:44.35\00:14:49.28 cleaned Judas's feet. And Judas, as his Lord and Savior knelt by 00:14:49.32\00:14:54.02 him and washed his feet he almost changed his heart. But 00:14:54.06\00:14:56.73 pride got in the way. Let's continue reading. Oh, we read 00:14:56.76\00:15:01.06 that about Peter already. Peter loved Jesus so much and he had a 00:15:01.10\00:15:04.90 good heart and he wanted to change but he didn't realize he 00:15:04.93\00:15:07.64 couldn't do it by himself. Foot washing service is such a 00:15:07.67\00:15:12.24 special service that represents kind of like a mini baptism and 00:15:12.27\00:15:16.31 forgiveness and humility and clean hearts and being a servant 00:15:16.34\00:15:21.98 to each other. It's such a special service and here in the 00:15:22.02\00:15:25.39 U.S. we celebrate the foot washing service one time a 00:15:25.42\00:15:29.16 quarter. Not quite sure where that tradition came from but 00:15:29.19\00:15:31.49 Passover is one time a year, we get to do it four times a year. 00:15:31.53\00:15:34.90 So it's such a special thing. And they continued there with 00:15:34.93\00:15:41.34 the foot washing service. This is something that Jesus asked us 00:15:41.37\00:15:44.84 to do. And He says: 00:15:44.87\00:15:47.11 If I then, your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet, you also 00:15:47.14\00:15:50.91 ought to wash one another's feet for I have given you an example 00:15:50.95\00:15:54.25 that you should do as I have done to you. Most assuredly I 00:15:54.28\00:15:57.25 say to you, A servant is not greater than his master nor is 00:15:57.29\00:16:00.56 he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these 00:16:00.59\00:16:04.39 things blessed are you if you do them. 00:16:04.43\00:16:06.86 He asks us to continue this ceremony. So on the night where 00:16:06.90\00:16:10.37 Passover was going to change completely the next day, right, 00:16:10.40\00:16:13.07 He gave is a new ceremony that we could continue to celebrate 00:16:13.10\00:16:16.27 to remember Him. Now the new ceremony consisted of the foot 00:16:16.30\00:16:21.61 washing but then it also had the communion service and the 00:16:21.64\00:16:24.28 communion service had elements of what they already celebrated 00:16:24.31\00:16:28.08 with Passover as well melded together and it was very special 00:16:28.12\00:16:31.22 Let's jump back to Matthew. Jesus took the cup after supper 00:16:31.25\00:16:37.19 and He started a new tradition for them. Well let's start with 00:16:37.23\00:16:44.47 bread actually. Okay. So He took... And remember at the 00:16:44.50\00:16:48.00 Passover time they had bread without yeast because yeast 00:16:48.04\00:16:49.77 represented sin. So it was flat bread. This is called matzah 00:16:49.80\00:16:52.27 which is the Passover bread. And this is what Jesus said in 00:16:52.31\00:16:56.31 Matthew 26 verse 26: 00:16:56.34\00:16:59.28 And after they were done eating Jesus took the bread and blessed 00:16:59.31\00:17:02.25 and broke it and gave it to His disciples and He said, Take, eat 00:17:02.28\00:17:07.76 this is my body broken for you. 00:17:07.79\00:17:10.76 This is really cool about the matzah bread. You see the holes, 00:17:10.79\00:17:14.23 just like the holes that were to be in Jesus's hands and the 00:17:14.26\00:17:18.10 stripes just like the stripes from the whip on His back. 00:17:18.13\00:17:20.67 There is a lot of symbolism in this bread. And then He took the 00:17:20.70\00:17:24.97 cup. Here I have a bottle here. He took the bottle and He poured 00:17:25.01\00:17:29.34 it into the cup and He took the cup after supper and He said: 00:17:29.38\00:17:32.55 He gave thanks and He said drink from it, all of you, for this is 00:17:32.58\00:17:38.05 my blood, the blood of the new covenant which was shed for many 00:17:38.09\00:17:41.42 for the remission of sins. But I say to you, I will not drink of 00:17:41.46\00:17:44.93 the fruit of the vine from now until the day in which I drink 00:17:44.96\00:17:48.16 it with you, new with you, in my Father's kingdom. 00:17:48.20\00:17:52.27 What special symbolism. Now sometimes some people believe 00:17:52.30\00:17:57.77 that when Jesus said, This is my body, they believe in something 00:17:57.81\00:18:00.48 called transubstantiation. It's a really big word and what that 00:18:00.51\00:18:03.68 means is that when the pastor blesses this that it actually 00:18:03.71\00:18:08.88 becomes Jesus's body. Now just saying that out loud, we don't 00:18:08.92\00:18:13.15 believe that that's what the Bible is saying here. We believe 00:18:13.19\00:18:15.62 that this represents Jesus's body broken for us and when we 00:18:15.66\00:18:19.36 break it with our teeth that it's like our sins are breaking 00:18:19.39\00:18:23.77 Jesus on the cross. Right? So we don't believe that this is 00:18:23.80\00:18:26.60 actually Jesus's body. We believe it represents or it's a 00:18:26.63\00:18:29.80 symbol for Jesus's body. And some believe that this actually 00:18:29.84\00:18:34.38 becomes His blood which we don't believe in that. It's almost 00:18:34.41\00:18:38.38 like magic. Right? And we don't believe in that. But we believe 00:18:38.41\00:18:41.55 that this is representing or a symbol for His blood that He 00:18:41.58\00:18:44.82 shed for us. The other thing that we believe is that we 00:18:44.85\00:18:47.72 believe that this is grape juice and that it's not fermented, 00:18:47.76\00:18:51.16 because we know what Jesus has said through His servant Solomon 00:18:51.19\00:18:54.20 that wine is a mocker. Right? Wine and strong drink is 00:18:54.23\00:18:57.43 raging. It makes us make really bad choices so there's no reason 00:18:57.47\00:19:00.14 who Jesus would have partaken in that with His disciples. So this 00:19:00.17\00:19:03.61 is just pure grape juice. Squeeze the grapes and that's 00:19:03.64\00:19:06.41 the grape juice. That's such a special ceremony that Jesus has 00:19:06.44\00:19:10.35 set up for us to learn. Then actually during the supper 00:19:10.38\00:19:19.25 Jesus announced in a way that Judas was the one that would 00:19:19.29\00:19:22.72 betray Him by saying whoever dips in this with me and eats is 00:19:22.76\00:19:27.13 one. And Judas did. And the disciples were shocked. They 00:19:27.16\00:19:30.27 couldn't believe it. And Judas went out to do the thing that he 00:19:30.30\00:19:34.30 was going to do which was to betray Jesus, his Lord and 00:19:34.34\00:19:37.37 Savior. Judas hurried to betray Jesus and he already had the 30 00:19:37.41\00:19:41.34 pieces of silver that the priests had given him. Judas may 00:19:41.38\00:19:44.45 have thought that this would have happened anyway. Or he 00:19:44.48\00:19:48.08 thought well maybe if I force Jesus to save himself maybe 00:19:48.12\00:19:53.52 He'll become the king that I want Him to be. But we know that 00:19:53.56\00:19:55.26 that wasn't true. That night, that Passover night that they 00:19:55.29\00:19:59.13 celebrated Jesus showed us a new ceremony that we can celebrate. 00:19:59.16\00:20:03.03 Now myself, I actually have a really fun Bible study group 00:20:03.06\00:20:06.70 that I'm a part of and we've actually celebrated what Jesus 00:20:06.74\00:20:09.40 would have celebrated Passover as. And it's really fun to learn 00:20:09.44\00:20:12.54 about the history of that. Not that I think that we need to do 00:20:12.57\00:20:14.94 that to be saved. No I don't think that. But I think it's 00:20:14.98\00:20:17.28 really cool to understand the symbolism behind it and most 00:20:17.31\00:20:20.62 importantly it's important to understand what Jesus did for us 00:20:20.65\00:20:24.89 and what the symbols of communion, what we call Passover 00:20:24.92\00:20:30.23 now mean to us. Jesus loved you so much that He gave His life 00:20:30.26\00:20:34.00 for you. 00:20:34.03\00:20:36.06 ¤ ¤ 00:20:36.10\00:20:40.50 Thank you Miss Michelle for that story. What were they celebrating it for? 00:22:02.52\00:22:04.29 Now you can send your answers to us at: 00:22:08.89\00:22:13.36 answers@startingwithjesus.com 00:22:13.40\00:22:16.03 ¤ ¤ 00:22:16.06\00:22:19.97 The memory verse for today is found in John 13 verse 15: 00:22:20.00\00:22:23.91 For I have given you an example that you should do as I have 00:22:23.94\00:22:28.28 done to you. 00:22:28.31\00:22:29.64 ¤ ¤ 00:22:29.68\00:22:46.13 Hey guys, we are going to make some crackers today and I am so 00:22:46.16\00:22:49.40 glad that you joined us. We are going to use flour and sugar and 00:22:49.43\00:22:54.87 salt, a little bit of oil and some water. This recipe comes 00:22:54.90\00:22:59.97 from the Pioneer Woman. We'll put a link of it in the 00:23:00.01\00:23:03.35 description box below so you can go and make these exact same 00:23:03.38\00:23:06.95 crackers. Now what's so neat about these crackers is that you 00:23:06.98\00:23:10.62 can add different things to it to make it really yummy. So boys 00:23:10.65\00:23:15.16 what did we add today? Do you remember? Seasoning. Seasonings. 00:23:15.19\00:23:19.23 I actually sprinkled some onion powder over it. We put some 00:23:19.26\00:23:23.73 pumpkin seeds and some sesame seeds and what else did we do? 00:23:23.77\00:23:28.47 We did sunflower seeds. That's your favorite. Right? Yeah. 00:23:28.50\00:23:32.51 Sunflower seeds. And so we put them on top and it was so good. 00:23:32.54\00:23:36.38 So we are going to make this with you, today and I hope you 00:23:36.41\00:23:40.22 get to try it at home. Let's go ahead and get started. We are 00:23:40.25\00:23:44.29 going to get started with 3 cups of all-purpose flour. Now I 00:23:44.32\00:23:47.99 decided I wanted it a little healthier so I did 2 cups of the 00:23:48.02\00:23:51.49 white flour and 1 cup of whole wheat. So that's what's in this 00:23:51.53\00:23:55.90 bowl right here and we're going to add it to our mixing bowl. So 00:23:55.93\00:23:58.70 Micah, can you pour it in for us? Now they recommend sifting 00:23:58.73\00:24:03.47 it and you can sift the flour. It'll make it lighter and it'll 00:24:03.51\00:24:08.31 make it fluffier and the crackers lighter. So if you want 00:24:08.34\00:24:12.35 to do that, that is fine. I don't have a sifter with me 00:24:12.38\00:24:15.28 right now and so this is what we're going to do. Now the next 00:24:15.32\00:24:19.22 thing that we're going to put in is 2 teaspoons of sugar. 00:24:19.25\00:24:23.26 We're using white sugar. You could use brown sugar, any kind 00:24:23.29\00:24:25.93 of sweetener and then add _ into this one. Then we're going 00:24:25.96\00:24:31.43 do 2-1/2 teaspoons of salt. Now that might seem like a lot of 00:24:31.47\00:24:34.90 salt but once we baked it, it tasted just fine. If your family 00:24:34.94\00:24:39.21 doesn't like to do a lot of salt you can put less salt in. That's 00:24:39.24\00:24:45.35 totally fine. Okay, now what we're going to do is we're going 00:24:45.38\00:24:48.78 do is we're going to mix this together and then once we mix 00:24:48.82\00:24:52.45 this together then we'll add our wet ingredients. So let's go 00:24:52.49\00:24:56.02 ahead and start mixing. Now we're going to add our wet 00:24:56.06\00:25:00.36 ingredients; so we're going to add 1 cup of water and 00:25:00.40\00:25:03.20 4 tablespoons of fat. It can be olive oil, it could be melted 00:25:03.23\00:25:07.20 butter, it could be melted coconut oil. There's different 00:25:07.24\00:25:11.97 things that you can use for a fat. We're using olive oil. 00:25:12.01\00:25:15.88 All right, we have divided out dough into two separate parts 00:25:15.91\00:25:20.68 and what we're going to do is flour the surface to put some 00:25:20.72\00:25:25.35 flour down and then we're going to roll it out really nice and 00:25:25.39\00:25:28.59 thin. We want it about an 1/8th of an inch. The thinner it is 00:25:28.62\00:25:34.53 the crispier your cracker will be. The thicker it is the more 00:25:34.56\00:25:37.10 chewy it'll be. We also want to make sure that we turn on our 00:25:37.13\00:25:40.94 oven and get it warmed up to 450 degrees. So let's go ahead 00:25:40.97\00:25:45.77 and do that and then we'll roll out our dough. Okay. We got it 00:25:45.81\00:25:49.61 all rolled out and now we are ready to add the toppings if you 00:25:49.64\00:25:54.82 want. What we want to do is we're going to take a little bit 00:25:54.85\00:25:57.42 of olive oil and a brush and we're going to start brushing on 00:25:57.45\00:26:00.52 the olive oil on top, just lightly. Just a little bit so 00:26:00.56\00:26:03.69 that it kind of toasts it and makes it nice and crispy. And 00:26:03.73\00:26:07.20 then you can add whatever toppings you want. If you want 00:26:07.23\00:26:10.00 to do what we're doing, we're going to make on batch plain 00:26:10.03\00:26:12.80 just regular and then the other batch we're going to add our 00:26:12.83\00:26:16.44 seeds and it's going to be really, really yummy. All right, 00:26:16.47\00:26:21.18 our oven is ready; the beep just told me that it's ready. Our 00:26:21.21\00:26:25.31 crackers have their topping on it and now we're about to put it 00:26:25.35\00:26:29.18 in the oven for 10-15 minutes. Something I didn't tell you was 00:26:29.22\00:26:35.96 we need to poke it with a fork. Now when you poke it with a fork 00:26:35.99\00:26:40.20 it keeps it from bubbling up and having bubbles in it. 00:26:40.23\00:26:42.60 ¤ ¤ 00:26:42.63\00:26:52.81 All right, we got it all done. Some of them got a little too 00:26:52.84\00:26:54.74 dark, but we have them, and they are finished. We have our seed 00:26:54.78\00:26:59.01 crackers and our just regular. So, until next time I hope you 00:26:59.05\00:27:04.85 guys are able to make these crackers and that you'll 00:27:04.89\00:27:07.59 enjoy them as much as we do. 00:27:07.62\00:27:08.96 ¤ ¤ 00:27:09.62\00:27:16.63 Thank you so much for joining us today.
