Hey kids, it's time for Sabbath School. Grab your Bibles and 00:00:01.80\00:00:03.16 let's go. 00:00:03.20\00:00:04.70 ¤ ¤ 00:00:04.73\00:00:06.94 (Miss Ruthie) Hello boys and girls, Welcome to Starting With 00:00:31.29\00:00:33.09 Jesus. I am so glad you're here with us today and I hope that 00:00:33.13\00:00:37.40 you're starting everything you do with Jesus. This week our 00:00:37.43\00:00:43.17 Bible story is about something that smells really good. So 00:00:43.20\00:00:48.94 you'll have to listen to that to find out what that was. And 00:00:48.98\00:00:53.35 don't forget that you can down load and color this week's 00:00:53.38\00:00:56.69 coloring page while you're listening to Miss Michelle's 00:00:56.72\00:00:59.19 Bible story. So go to startingwithjesus.com/color 00:00:59.22\00:01:04.06 and down load this week's coloring picture. But before we 00:01:04.09\00:01:07.96 get to any of that let's get to some singing. 00:01:08.00\00:01:10.47 ¤ ¤ 00:01:10.50\00:01:17.54 ¤ ¤ 00:01:50.11\00:01:53.61 ¤ ¤ 00:03:04.55\00:03:08.08 ¤ ¤ 00:04:36.94\00:04:41.14 (Miss Kate) Hey guys, I'm at my friend Lena's house and she is a 00:04:41.18\00:04:44.35 sheep herder. That's what she does for a living. I want to 00:04:44.38\00:04:47.52 share with you some things that I've been learning about sheep. 00:04:47.55\00:04:50.19 (Sheep bells sounding) What struck me was how curious the 00:04:50.22\00:05:02.10 sheep and the goats are. They're very scared of me but once they 00:05:02.13\00:05:06.63 got what they considered was a safe distance away, they would 00:05:06.67\00:05:10.44 just stand there and stare at me They don't put the bells on all 00:05:10.47\00:05:14.11 the sheep, just the few sheep that are more independent, the 00:05:14.14\00:05:18.21 ones who tend to wander off easier. Baby sheep can stand 00:05:18.25\00:05:25.65 within minutes of being born. Sheep like to stick together in 00:05:25.69\00:05:29.79 a herd. There is safety in numbers. That's where their 00:05:29.82\00:05:33.43 protection is. By the time they're six months old they're 00:05:33.46\00:05:38.43 just about full grown and they're not as cute. It was so 00:05:38.47\00:05:44.34 relaxing and peaceful to be out in the forest, to hear the 00:05:44.37\00:05:48.41 clinking of their bells and the sound of the wind. 00:05:48.44\00:05:51.21 ¤ ¤ (sheep bells sounding) 00:05:51.25\00:06:11.03 Hi boys and girls. I'm glad that you got to join me as we went 00:06:11.07\00:06:13.60 with my friend and out to see her sheep and went sheep 00:06:13.64\00:06:16.34 herding with her. I was really surprised because her sheep move 00:06:16.37\00:06:21.11 really, really fast. Basically they go really fast until they 00:06:21.14\00:06:26.41 find some grass and then they stop and they eat grass. You 00:06:26.45\00:06:29.52 know what else they like to eat, which I didn't know before. They 00:06:29.55\00:06:33.05 like to eat the snow. They love the snow and they eat the snow 00:06:33.09\00:06:38.06 which is pretty funny too. It's very, very important that sheep 00:06:38.09\00:06:42.16 have a shepherd to go with them because the shepherd helps to 00:06:42.20\00:06:46.27 keep them safe. And when it's time to turn around and go home 00:06:46.30\00:06:49.44 at night back to the safety of their pen, the shepherd has to 00:06:49.47\00:06:52.77 be the one to make sure that the sheep turn around and go in the 00:06:52.81\00:06:56.44 direction that they're supposed to and head towards home. 00:06:56.48\00:06:58.98 I think my favorite goat was the little baby. Did you get 00:06:59.01\00:07:02.02 to see it? 00:07:02.05\00:07:03.39 The little baby was so adorable and it would follow its mom 00:07:03.42\00:07:07.32 around and it was really curious And you know what, when they fed 00:07:07.36\00:07:10.96 the sheep in the morning their little baby goat would jump into 00:07:10.99\00:07:15.53 the feed trough and would stand in the feed trough and 00:07:15.56\00:07:18.07 eat while the 00:07:18.10\00:07:19.47 others just put their heads in. It was really funny to see. 00:07:19.50\00:07:23.30 There are so many placed in the Bible where Jesus talks about 00:07:23.34\00:07:28.24 sheep and calls us sheep. And what does he call Himself? 00:07:28.28\00:07:32.48 Do you know? He calls himself the good shepherd. Jesus is our 00:07:32.51\00:07:37.55 good shepherd. He takes care of us. He watches the sheep, he 00:07:37.59\00:07:41.32 walks along beside them. When they get hurt he's right there 00:07:41.36\00:07:45.06 to help them. When they are going really fast because they 00:07:45.09\00:07:50.20 want to get to the next part of the green grass, he's right 00:07:50.23\00:07:53.07 there with them walking along beside them. Jesus never forces 00:07:53.10\00:07:57.21 us. He doesn't tell us that we have to follow Him. He invites 00:07:57.24\00:08:01.84 us. He gives us the opportunity. And I know today, I want to 00:08:01.88\00:08:05.65 follow Jesus. How about you? It's really exciting for me to 00:08:05.68\00:08:10.25 be able to be here and to watch the sheep and learn more about 00:08:10.29\00:08:15.62 them. I hope that I get to see you next time when we explore 00:08:15.66\00:08:20.96 God's nature and His creation together. We'll see you later, 00:08:21.00\00:08:25.00 Bye bye. 00:08:25.03\00:08:26.37 ¤ ¤ 00:08:26.40\00:08:49.16 (Miss Michelle) Today we're going to be talking about a 00:08:49.19\00:08:51.23 story that Jesus said would be repeated all throughout history. 00:08:51.26\00:08:56.10 This story, the woman in this story, was an example for all of 00:08:56.13\00:09:02.47 us. Who could that be? Hmm. Let's pray and find out. 00:09:02.50\00:09:06.57 Dear heavenly Father, we praise you and thank you for loving us, 00:09:06.61\00:09:10.21 for sending your Son, the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. 00:09:10.25\00:09:14.65 Please come into our hearts today Lord. Fill us with your 00:09:14.68\00:09:18.29 Spirit and be with us a we learn about this important story in 00:09:18.32\00:09:22.52 your scriptures. In your name we pray, Amen. 00:09:22.56\00:09:25.03 Let's do a little history lesson real quick. Look out. Miss 00:09:25.06\00:09:29.06 Michelle is a teacher so yep, I do like to do some teaching 00:09:29.10\00:09:31.70 sometimes. Now we know that since the beginning of time, 00:09:31.73\00:09:35.90 since Jesus created Adam and Eve and sin happened the sacrificial 00:09:35.94\00:09:40.38 system started. And those are two big words. Right? It means 00:09:40.41\00:09:43.75 that Adam and Eve brought a lamb and sacrificed it or killed it 00:09:43.78\00:09:47.82 and this lamb represented Jesus, the Lamb of God who would take 00:09:47.85\00:09:51.69 away the sin of the world. Sounds gross and really sad, 00:09:51.72\00:09:54.79 doesn't it? It is. But let's think about it. The sacrifice 00:09:54.82\00:09:58.19 that Jesus had to make for us was really sad and what he had 00:09:58.23\00:10:01.46 to go through was excruciatingly painful. Now let's fast forward. 00:10:01.50\00:10:06.53 The Jews were in Egypt and a big event happened where God led 00:10:06.57\00:10:11.01 them out of Egypt. We call that the Passover. And that was 00:10:11.04\00:10:14.51 another thing that pointed to Jesus. You see, the Jews, 00:10:14.54\00:10:18.85 or the Israelites who were in Egypt, it was the last plague. 00:10:18.88\00:10:24.85 Do you remember this? It was going to be death of the first 00:10:24.89\00:10:28.06 born. And if they painted blood on their door post that 00:10:28.09\00:10:31.06 represented Jesus's blood covering them, once again 00:10:31.09\00:10:34.13 pointing to Jesus and if there was blood on the door post their 00:10:34.16\00:10:37.73 first born son didn't die. The Passover was celebrated over 00:10:37.77\00:10:42.27 time and little did the people in Jesus' time know that the 00:10:42.30\00:10:46.41 most important Passover was coming up in just a few days. 00:10:46.44\00:10:50.21 Jesus knew that the lamb that would be sacrificed in just a 00:10:50.25\00:10:54.15 few days was Him, the true lamb of God. The priests were already 00:10:54.18\00:11:00.39 plotting His death. How lonely Jesus must have felt to know 00:11:00.42\00:11:04.79 this and yet to tell even His disciples and His followers this 00:11:04.83\00:11:09.00 and feel like no one was listening. They wanted an 00:11:09.03\00:11:11.77 earthly kingdom, they wanted an earthly king, they wanted 00:11:11.80\00:11:14.20 freedom from the Romans and when Jesus would tell them the truth 00:11:14.24\00:11:17.81 it just went right over their heads, in one ear, out the other 00:11:17.84\00:11:20.98 And the Passover was coming up so soon, Jesus' death was coming 00:11:21.01\00:11:26.08 so soon. Six days away was the Passover and Jesus was on his 00:11:26.11\00:11:29.65 way to Jerusalem. But, of course He had to stop at Bethany. Do 00:11:29.68\00:11:33.25 you remember who lived at Bethany? If you said Lazarus, 00:11:33.29\00:11:37.29 Mary and Martha, you were right. Three of his dearest friends. 00:11:37.33\00:11:43.06 It was at Bethany that Lazarus was raised from the dead. There 00:11:43.10\00:11:47.30 was another resident or person who lived in Bethany who also 00:11:47.34\00:11:50.94 owed Jesus a debt of gratitude and his name was Simon. He was a 00:11:50.97\00:11:56.95 Pharisee and he had been healed by Jesus of leprosy, that 00:11:56.98\00:12:01.45 horrible skin condition that would lead to your death 00:12:01.48\00:12:05.02 eventually. Simon was a disciple of Jesus but he wasn't fully 00:12:05.05\00:12:08.52 committed. He still hadn't changed how he thought to how 00:12:08.56\00:12:12.03 Jesus thinks and he still thought he was a pretty good 00:12:12.06\00:12:15.63 person. You know, except for the leprosy bit and maybe a couple 00:12:15.66\00:12:18.10 of little things that he'd done. But he had many desperately evil 00:12:18.13\00:12:22.87 secret sins and he was holding onto those things and still on 00:12:22.90\00:12:28.08 the outside looked like he was a really good guy but in his 00:12:28.11\00:12:31.75 heart he had some very wicked things there. He thought, to pay 00:12:31.78\00:12:37.25 Jesus back, to make it right for what He had done for Simon, 00:12:37.29\00:12:42.62 he would have a big party, a big feast for Jesus and why a party 00:12:42.66\00:12:46.36 would pay someone back for healing you from a desperately 00:12:46.39\00:12:49.80 horrible disease is beyond me, but in his mind, Simon thought 00:12:49.83\00:12:52.33 that this would help, I don't know, make up for that or pay 00:12:52.37\00:12:56.30 Jesus for that. And Lazarus was invited and Mary was there and 00:12:56.34\00:13:01.18 Martha was there. She was in charge of the food. Surprise, 00:13:01.21\00:13:03.45 surprise. Many people were in Bethany at this time because 00:13:03.48\00:13:06.18 one, they were headed to Passover and two, they wanted 00:13:06.21\00:13:08.98 to see Jesus. They also kind of wanted to see Lazarus too, you 00:13:09.02\00:13:12.09 see, they knew he had been dead for four days and they wanted to 00:13:12.12\00:13:15.32 know what it was like to be dead Now we know because it says in 00:13:15.36\00:13:18.56 Ecclesiastes 9 verses 5 and 6: For the living know that they 00:13:18.59\00:13:23.57 will die, but the dead know nothing and they will have no 00:13:23.60\00:13:26.84 more reward for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their 00:13:26.87\00:13:30.27 love, their hatred and their envy is now perished. Nevermore 00:13:30.31\00:13:33.24 will they have a share in anything done under the sun. 00:13:33.27\00:13:36.34 We know that once you die, you don't know anything. In fact, 00:13:36.38\00:13:40.82 when Lazarus died he didn't know anything. Nothing was going on 00:13:40.85\00:13:45.52 his brain, his soul didn't leave his body and go up to heaven. 00:13:45.55\00:13:48.42 He stayed in the grave and was sleeping until Jesus woke him up 00:13:48.46\00:13:51.79 four days later. The same thing happens when our loved ones die. 00:13:51.83\00:13:55.43 It's so sad for us but for them it's a nap till Jesus comes and 00:13:55.46\00:14:01.47 the next thing that they know Jesus will be coming in the 00:14:01.50\00:14:04.81 clouds of glory. Isn't that amazing? I'm so glad that we 00:14:04.84\00:14:08.81 have that hope for our relatives Isn't that great? Now they 00:14:08.84\00:14:14.18 wanted to know what it was like to be dead and Lazarus would 00:14:14.22\00:14:16.89 have said, Well I don't know. I didn't know what was happening. 00:14:16.92\00:14:19.35 I just woke up and Jesus was there. But it is Jesus and He is 00:14:19.39\00:14:22.62 the one who raised me from the dead and He is the Son of God. 00:14:22.66\00:14:25.19 So he did witness to people in that way. Now back to the feast. 00:14:25.23\00:14:28.40 The guests came in and they lay on these couches, they were 00:14:28.43\00:14:32.53 around these really low tables. I don't know if you've ever been 00:14:32.57\00:14:34.67 to a restaurant before that has a low table that you sit on the 00:14:34.70\00:14:38.04 floor. Their feet were faced away from the table and they 00:14:38.07\00:14:40.91 were just kind of lounging there and eating. It was odd though 00:14:40.94\00:14:44.38 because no one was sent to wash Jesus' feet which was a custom 00:14:44.41\00:14:47.25 at those times. We'll talk about that more in the future but it 00:14:47.28\00:14:50.99 was kind of odd that that didn't happen. But the food was great, 00:14:51.02\00:14:53.82 of course; Martha was in charge. And they were all enjoying that 00:14:53.86\00:14:58.09 together. And that's when Mary came in. Jesus had done so much 00:14:58.13\00:15:02.56 for Mary. He had scared away demons out of her multiple times 00:15:02.60\00:15:07.17 He had loved her even though she lived in sin and had made some 00:15:07.20\00:15:11.41 really horrible choices. He had raised her brother from the dead 00:15:11.44\00:15:16.01 and she was so thankful and she truly had a repentant heart. She 00:15:16.04\00:15:21.22 knew she was a sinner and she knew that she needed Jesus. 00:15:21.25\00:15:24.79 She had been listening, you see, to what Jesus was talking about. 00:15:24.82\00:15:29.02 Jesus had told his disciples and she had been there too that he 00:15:29.06\00:15:33.80 would die soon. They kind of just didn't believe him. They 00:15:33.83\00:15:37.50 kind of were like okay, yeah, yeah, mm-hmm, we all die, mm-hmm 00:15:37.53\00:15:40.40 But she was listening. She also heard people talking about how 00:15:40.44\00:15:44.77 he was going to become king soon because they wanted him to be 00:15:44.81\00:15:49.08 king soon and be the earthly kingdom and defeat the Romans. 00:15:49.11\00:15:51.68 Right? In John is where we find the part of the story that we're 00:15:51.71\00:15:56.65 going to read, but it's very interesting to learn that all 00:15:56.69\00:15:58.89 four gospels also have this story. John 12 verse 3:... 00:15:58.92\00:16:02.39 Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard and 00:16:02.42\00:16:07.06 anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. 00:16:07.10\00:16:11.63 And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. Maybe 00:16:11.67\00:16:17.31 your dad has some cologne or your mom has some perfume or 00:16:17.34\00:16:20.34 your grandma or papa but I have this perfume. This is special 00:16:20.38\00:16:23.21 perfume because my husband got it for me way back when we were 00:16:23.24\00:16:27.35 dating so it's very old perfume. And I only wear it once in a 00:16:27.38\00:16:30.22 while for special occasions. But the perfume that they had back 00:16:30.25\00:16:35.32 then was a little different than the perfume that we have today. 00:16:35.36\00:16:37.89 You see this spikenard was very expensive and you can buy some 00:16:37.93\00:16:42.60 very expensive perfumes today. Right? This spikenard that she 00:16:42.63\00:16:46.40 had bought actually took a whole years' worth of her wages to 00:16:46.43\00:16:49.70 buy this. Like she worked a whole year to get this much 00:16:49.74\00:16:53.64 money. She had heard Jesus talk about His death and she wanted 00:16:53.68\00:16:56.88 to use that to put on His body after He died but then she got 00:16:56.91\00:17:01.05 to thinking about it and we need to think about this too. Should 00:17:01.08\00:17:03.79 we thank people and tell them how much they mean to us after 00:17:03.82\00:17:07.49 they die or while their still alive? She wanted to be the 00:17:07.52\00:17:10.73 first one to celebrate Him as king and so she put the perfume 00:17:10.76\00:17:16.70 on Jesus. Now today if you just spray it, a little bit will come 00:17:16.73\00:17:20.54 out. Right? But back then they had perfumes a little different 00:17:20.57\00:17:24.07 and they would actually break it now I'm not going to break this 00:17:24.11\00:17:26.54 but they would break it and you couldn't use it again. So it was 00:17:26.57\00:17:30.35 like a one-time deal. So she did she broke it. Matthew and Mark 00:17:30.38\00:17:34.25 say that she anointed Jesus' head with it and Luke and John 00:17:34.28\00:17:37.59 say that she put it on Jesus' feet. Now does it really matter? 00:17:37.62\00:17:40.99 No. The important part was she was anointing Him and showing 00:17:41.02\00:17:44.39 Him that she believed Him and that she was celebrating Him 00:17:44.43\00:17:48.00 and thanking Him. At first no one noticed but you know how 00:17:48.03\00:17:50.87 perfume is. I just sprayed one little spurt of this perfume and 00:17:50.90\00:17:53.87 the whole room is starting to smell like Miss Michelle. Right? 00:17:53.90\00:17:56.40 Now the same thing happened there. (coughs) I just had a big 00:17:56.44\00:18:01.34 whiff of it too. It's a good smell, just don't inhale it. 00:18:01.38\00:18:03.35 Right? Pretty soon everybody stopped because they smelled it 00:18:03.38\00:18:07.98 and they knew that this was some very costly perfume. No one said 00:18:08.02\00:18:14.49 anything until Judas spoke up and sadly he didn't have nice 00:18:14.52\00:18:18.13 things to say. John 12 verses 4-6:... 00:18:18.16\00:18:22.66 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, who would 00:18:22.70\00:18:26.13 betray Him said, Why is this fragrant oil not sold for 300 00:18:26.17\00:18:29.57 denarii and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared 00:18:29.60\00:18:33.38 for the poor but because he was a thief and had the money box 00:18:33.41\00:18:37.28 and he used to take what was put in it. So he was like the 00:18:37.31\00:18:42.28 treasurer of the group and he would take money instead of 00:18:42.32\00:18:46.05 giving it to the poor. So he thought that would have been 00:18:46.09\00:18:48.56 great money for him. Right? Wow! How selfish. And Mary was just 00:18:48.59\00:18:52.49 crushed. She felt terrible. She wanted it to be a secret but she 00:18:52.53\00:18:56.16 had forgotten about how the smell would fill the whole room. 00:18:56.20\00:18:58.43 How embarrassing. Jesus looked right at Judas and Judas 00:18:58.47\00:19:05.31 realized the Jesus knew; He knew his heart and he knew that he 00:19:05.34\00:19:09.01 had been dishonest even though Judas thought he was being 00:19:09.04\00:19:11.31 sneaky and getting away with it. And at that point Judas left. 00:19:11.35\00:19:16.25 And he hurried away to Jerusalem to offer to help capture Jesus, 00:19:16.28\00:19:20.39 to the high priest. 00:19:20.42\00:19:23.12 But Jesus said, Let her alone. She has kept this for the day 00:19:23.16\00:19:27.00 of my burial. For the poor you will always have with you but me 00:19:27.03\00:19:34.37 you will not always have. 00:19:34.40\00:19:36.57 Now there was another person in the crowd who also questioned 00:19:36.60\00:19:40.68 her choice there and that was Simon the host of the party and 00:19:40.71\00:19:46.11 he said something as well, which was not kind. He said in Luke 7 00:19:46.15\00:19:53.02 verses 36-39:... 00:19:53.05\00:19:54.96 Then one of the Pharisees asked him to eat with him... 00:19:54.99\00:19:58.93 Let's fast forward. And she began to wash his feet she 00:19:58.96\00:20:03.50 was doing that... 00:20:03.53\00:20:04.87 And when the Pharisee [that would be Simon] who had invited 00:20:04.90\00:20:06.80 him saw this he spoke to himself saying, This man, if He were a 00:20:06.84\00:20:09.67 prophet, He would know of what manner this woman is who is 00:20:09.70\00:20:13.71 touching Him, for she is a sinner. [Whoa] And Jesus 00:20:13.74\00:20:18.15 answered and said to him, Simon, I have something to say to you. 00:20:18.18\00:20:21.45 So he said, Teacher say it. 00:20:21.48\00:20:24.25 Jesus could have called Simon out. Simon, as I said before, 00:20:24.29\00:20:28.12 had done some very, very wicked things that I don't even want to 00:20:28.16\00:20:31.46 get into and yet he thought he could call Mary out on this and 00:20:31.49\00:20:37.60 she was a sinner too. Don't get me wrong. But he was an even 00:20:37.63\00:20:40.44 greater sinner. 00:20:40.47\00:20:41.80 There was a certain creditor who had two debtors, Jesus said. One 00:20:41.84\00:20:44.94 owed 500 denarii and the other 50 denarii, and when they had 00:20:44.97\00:20:49.31 nothing with which to repay he freely forgave them both. Tell 00:20:49.34\00:20:52.98 me therefore which of them would love him more? Simon answered 00:20:53.01\00:20:56.35 and said, Well I suppose the one he forgave more. And He said to 00:20:56.38\00:20:59.42 him, You have rightly judged. Then He turned to the woman and 00:20:59.45\00:21:02.69 said to Simon, Do you see this woman? I entered your house and 00:21:02.72\00:21:06.36 you gave me no water for my feet but she has washed my feet 00:21:06.39\00:21:09.30 with her tears and wiped them with her hair of her head. You 00:21:09.33\00:21:12.37 gave me no kiss, but this woman has not ceased to kiss my feet 00:21:12.40\00:21:15.54 since the time she came in. You did not anoint my head with oil 00:21:15.57\00:21:18.41 but this woman anointed me feet with fragrant oil. Therefore, I 00:21:18.44\00:21:21.64 say to you, Her sins which are many are forgiven for she has 00:21:21.68\00:21:25.48 loved much. But to whom little is forgiven the same loves 00:21:25.51\00:21:29.45 little. Then he said to her, Your sins are forgiven. And 00:21:29.48\00:21:32.95 those who sat at the table with Him began to say to themselves, 00:21:32.99\00:21:35.09 Who is this man that he forgives sins. Then he said to this woman 00:21:35.12\00:21:38.09 You faith has saved you, go in peace. 00:21:38.13\00:21:41.20 Jesus forgave Mary. He forgave Simon too, and he will always 00:21:41.23\00:21:45.30 forgive you. 00:21:45.33\00:21:47.37 ¤ ¤ 00:21:47.40\00:22:00.72 Were you listening to this week's story? This is Moe. Well about two weeks ago we started 00:24:16.55\00:24:22.26 our adventure and I told you how we served in the mission field. 00:24:22.29\00:24:25.79 One of our very close family friends got really hurt and we 00:24:25.83\00:24:29.93 decided that we needed to help him. That is my boy Liam. You 00:24:29.96\00:24:33.37 can hear him in the background and he's listening to our story 00:24:33.40\00:24:36.20 too. Last week we saw that when we pray God listens and He 00:24:36.24\00:24:42.01 answers and He knows exactly what we need. We left off last 00:24:42.04\00:24:45.88 week with how the kidnappers were convicted that they should 00:24:45.91\00:24:49.25 not touch my dad; that he was a man of God. And we were praying 00:24:49.28\00:24:53.96 for him and we knew God was going to do something. And they 00:24:53.99\00:24:57.39 started to protest, some of the people in that car and say, No 00:24:57.43\00:25:01.40 way. We need to finish the job. We need to hurt this man too. 00:25:01.43\00:25:04.40 But God said no. Just at that moment the head kidnapper said 00:25:04.43\00:25:09.00 we're going to drive this man back and we're going to help him 00:25:09.04\00:25:12.74 find his way to whatever things he was going to do, which was to 00:25:12.77\00:25:17.71 help our friend that got hurt really bad. As they were driving 00:25:17.75\00:25:21.65 him the head kidnapper said, Pastor, I want to ask for 00:25:21.68\00:25:26.02 forgiveness. I want to ask if we could still be friends. Now my 00:25:26.05\00:25:30.96 father didn't know who those people were and we didn't know 00:25:30.99\00:25:33.50 who they were. But you know even when people that are not nice to 00:25:33.53\00:25:38.17 you ask for forgiveness you always ought to forgive them 00:25:38.20\00:25:43.37 just like Jesus forgives us. Sometimes we're not nice to 00:25:43.41\00:25:48.18 people and sometimes we say things that are not the best 00:25:48.21\00:25:51.05 things to say. But you know when we turn to Jesus He forgives us 00:25:51.08\00:25:55.72 and when we turn to one another we should forgive one another. 00:25:55.75\00:26:00.22 My father forgave the man and there he got the help that he 00:26:00.26\00:26:04.89 needed to help our friend that got hurt really badly. Today our 00:26:04.93\00:26:10.00 friend is still alive because of the help he could get and it is 00:26:10.03\00:26:14.37 a good story to always share with you how Jesus listens to us 00:26:14.40\00:26:19.14 and we should never be afraid because we can talk to Jesus 00:26:19.17\00:26:24.35 today. So whatever's in your heart, whatever situation you 00:26:24.38\00:26:27.78 might be facing, if something is making you sad or you're not 00:26:27.82\00:26:31.85 sure about the future, talk to Jesus today and ask Him, Lord 00:26:31.89\00:26:37.13 help me.
