00:00:37.23\00:00:40.67 Water is the beverage that God has provided for us 00:00:40.70\00:00:44.14 to even quench our thirst. 00:00:44.17\00:00:46.91 And when we drink water freely, 00:00:46.94\00:00:49.18 it actually helps supply the necessities of our system, 00:00:49.21\00:00:52.91 and it will actually assist nature 00:00:52.95\00:00:55.58 to help us resist disease. 00:00:55.62\00:00:58.22 So water is very, very important, 00:00:58.25\00:01:01.39 and it is a wonderful natural remedy. 00:01:01.42\00:01:05.79 It is very important if we're going to have a longer 00:01:05.83\00:01:10.23 healthier, happier life. 00:01:10.27\00:01:11.97 And water is also a powerful healing agent. 00:01:12.00\00:01:16.04 For example, we can simply have a hot foot treatment, 00:01:16.07\00:01:21.34 foot bath treatment if we're having a headache. 00:01:21.38\00:01:24.41 We want to get that blood 00:01:24.45\00:01:26.18 from the head down to the feet 00:01:26.21\00:01:28.75 and so, here we have a powerful water treatment 00:01:28.78\00:01:33.56 with hot water to the feet, cold water to the head 00:01:33.62\00:01:37.33 wrapped in a sheet and then in a blanket, 00:01:37.39\00:01:39.89 and you will actually feel the headache 00:01:39.96\00:01:43.03 going right out of your head. 00:01:43.06\00:01:45.90 And so water is also a powerful healing agent. 00:01:45.93\00:01:50.44 You see, water brings healing to the body, 00:01:50.47\00:01:53.41 whether we use it internally 00:01:53.44\00:01:55.74 or whether we use it externally. 00:01:55.78\00:01:58.65 And if we are healthy or even if we are sick, 00:01:58.68\00:02:02.05 water is one of the Creator's greatest blessings. 00:02:02.08\00:02:06.52 So we can use water to help us to get better 00:02:06.55\00:02:10.13 if we're sick and we have water to keep us well. 00:02:10.16\00:02:14.46 So water is also a calming stress reliever. 00:02:14.50\00:02:19.33 Have you ever been out by a stream 00:02:19.37\00:02:23.17 just flowing and feel like 00:02:23.20\00:02:25.21 you just have less stress in your life? 00:02:25.24\00:02:28.61 Well, let's look at Amanda Carlson, 00:02:28.64\00:02:32.85 registered dietitian, director of performance nutrition 00:02:32.88\00:02:36.65 at Athletes' Performance, 00:02:36.69\00:02:38.62 and she is also a trainer of world class athletes 00:02:38.65\00:02:43.22 and she says, "Studies have shown 00:02:43.26\00:02:45.69 that being just even half a liter dehydrated 00:02:45.73\00:02:50.00 can increase your cortisol levels. 00:02:50.03\00:02:52.97 And this cortisone is one of those stress hormones 00:02:53.00\00:02:57.77 that staying in a good hydrated condition 00:02:57.81\00:03:01.18 can help keep you your stress levels down." 00:03:01.21\00:03:04.58 So that's what we want to do 00:03:04.61\00:03:06.31 is have our stress down, isn't it? 00:03:06.35\00:03:08.92 And when you don't give your body the fluids 00:03:08.95\00:03:11.35 that it needs, you're putting stress on it 00:03:11.39\00:03:14.19 and it's going to respond to that. 00:03:14.26\00:03:16.86 So also, water is a wonderful stress reliever. 00:03:16.93\00:03:21.60 Stress can cause dehydration 00:03:21.63\00:03:24.57 and dehydration can cause stress. 00:03:24.60\00:03:27.34 So, my friends, it can be a vicious circle. 00:03:27.40\00:03:31.04 If you have stress, you probably are dehydrated 00:03:31.07\00:03:35.41 and then dehydration actually can cause stress. 00:03:35.44\00:03:40.18 But you can break this cycle 00:03:40.22\00:03:42.62 by building more water consumption into your day. 00:03:42.65\00:03:46.05 So we need to get adequate amounts of water 00:03:46.09\00:03:49.92 and the proper use of water, 00:03:49.99\00:03:51.83 my friends, actually promotes health. 00:03:51.86\00:03:54.40 And this is why this is one of God's important remedies. 00:03:54.46\00:03:58.63 Water is a gift from God. 00:03:58.67\00:04:01.90 Right from the very beginning of creation, 00:04:01.94\00:04:05.11 God gave us the wonderful gift of water. 00:04:05.14\00:04:08.38 But someone asked, "Why is water so important?" 00:04:08.41\00:04:12.35 Well, water is important 00:04:12.38\00:04:15.12 because adults are 60% water by weight, 00:04:15.15\00:04:18.99 and the brain is 85% water by weight, 00:04:19.02\00:04:23.53 and the blood is 90% water by weight. 00:04:23.56\00:04:26.83 And so we have body that's full of water, 00:04:26.90\00:04:30.87 and water is needed for every function of human life. 00:04:30.93\00:04:34.70 It's needed just to breathe our respiration. 00:04:34.74\00:04:38.24 It's needed for digestion. 00:04:38.27\00:04:40.34 It's needed for flexibility, 00:04:40.38\00:04:42.71 so that we can even flex our muscles, 00:04:42.74\00:04:44.95 so water is needed for every human function of life. 00:04:44.98\00:04:49.38 And water is essential 00:04:49.42\00:04:51.79 for efficient circulation of the blood as well. 00:04:51.82\00:04:55.72 And so, we need water 00:04:55.76\00:04:57.73 because we have normal water loss. 00:04:57.76\00:05:00.73 We have loss through the lungs when we breathe. 00:05:00.76\00:05:03.90 We have loss through the skin when we sweat or perspire. 00:05:03.97\00:05:07.80 And then we have a loss of water through the kidneys 00:05:07.84\00:05:11.34 and the bowels. 00:05:11.37\00:05:12.91 So we eliminate toxins these four ways, 00:05:12.94\00:05:16.85 through the lungs, through the skin, 00:05:16.88\00:05:19.21 through the kidneys, and through the intestines, 00:05:19.25\00:05:21.98 so we have water loss every day. 00:05:22.02\00:05:25.15 But let's look at the healthful benefits 00:05:25.19\00:05:28.29 of replenishing that water. 00:05:28.32\00:05:30.56 And so, we're looking at some benefits of water. 00:05:30.63\00:05:33.70 Scientific studies revealed the following benefits. 00:05:33.73\00:05:37.17 First, my friends, it's improving digestion. 00:05:37.23\00:05:40.70 Now that is, of course, 00:05:40.74\00:05:42.07 if we're drinking water at the right time, 00:05:42.10\00:05:44.51 and we'll discuss that as well. 00:05:44.54\00:05:46.84 And water purifies the blood, it enhances the circulation, 00:05:46.88\00:05:51.85 eliminates the toxins, 00:05:51.88\00:05:53.52 and every day our body is filled with toxins 00:05:53.58\00:05:57.59 just from our surroundings. 00:05:57.62\00:06:00.09 And then also a wonderful thing 00:06:00.12\00:06:03.02 that happens is that it increases our energy. 00:06:03.06\00:06:06.06 Have you ever felt lack of energy? 00:06:06.09\00:06:08.46 Well, water will increase your energy. 00:06:08.50\00:06:11.53 And water also is good for treatments. 00:06:11.57\00:06:14.40 This has healing advantages 00:06:14.44\00:06:16.91 as we have those good water treatments, 00:06:16.94\00:06:20.81 and water builds the immune system 00:06:20.88\00:06:23.55 just as we get in that shower and take a hot and cold shower. 00:06:23.58\00:06:27.88 Every day I take a hot and cold shower. 00:06:27.92\00:06:31.02 I get in there and I love the hot, 00:06:31.05\00:06:33.86 sometimes the cold is a little stimulating 00:06:33.89\00:06:38.09 but I go in and take a hot shower 00:06:38.13\00:06:41.66 for two to three minutes, 00:06:41.70\00:06:43.43 and then you can turn on the cold for about 30 seconds. 00:06:43.47\00:06:47.40 The way I have to do it is often count really fast, 00:06:47.44\00:06:51.07 one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, 00:06:51.11\00:06:53.74 and then another 10 and another 10. 00:06:53.78\00:06:55.98 I'm counting a little slower by the time 00:06:56.01\00:06:58.48 I get to the third 10 and 30 seconds, 00:06:58.51\00:07:02.45 and you'll feel stimulated and you'll feel energized. 00:07:02.48\00:07:07.02 And then repeat this, 00:07:07.09\00:07:08.52 especially if you are feeling sick, 00:07:08.56\00:07:11.86 repeat it at least three times. 00:07:11.89\00:07:14.20 And then, of course, always end with cold. 00:07:14.23\00:07:17.47 So hot and cold shower actually builds your immune system. 00:07:17.50\00:07:22.80 And also drinking lots of water improves our memory. 00:07:22.84\00:07:26.88 We all want to improve our memory, right? 00:07:26.91\00:07:29.91 And so, drinking lots of water does that 00:07:29.94\00:07:33.42 because you see the brain in order to remain active, 00:07:33.45\00:07:36.82 it must have water. 00:07:36.89\00:07:38.65 In fact, reports indicate that long term dehydration 00:07:38.69\00:07:42.92 may even contribute to Alzheimer's disease. 00:07:42.96\00:07:47.60 Alzheimer's disease is on the rise. 00:07:47.60\00:07:50.97 And one of the reasons, there are several reasons, 00:07:51.00\00:07:54.14 but one of the reasons is that when people get older, 00:07:54.20\00:07:58.11 they actually don't drink enough water. 00:07:58.14\00:08:01.44 So we need water for the brain to be active. 00:08:01.48\00:08:05.98 You see the human brain is about one-fiftieth 00:08:06.01\00:08:09.22 of the total body weight, and brain cells are 85% water. 00:08:09.25\00:08:14.62 So we truly need water to keep our brain healthy, 00:08:14.66\00:08:19.83 and we need adequate amounts of water 00:08:19.86\00:08:22.03 for many functions of life. 00:08:22.06\00:08:25.20 Look, if we expect the body to function 00:08:25.23\00:08:28.24 with just a little amount of water, 00:08:28.27\00:08:31.17 it's like, my friends, 00:08:31.21\00:08:32.87 trying to wash these dirty dishes 00:08:32.91\00:08:36.08 in just a cup full of water. 00:08:36.11\00:08:38.65 Now, these dishes aren't going to get very clean, 00:08:38.68\00:08:41.65 are they with just one cup or two cups 00:08:41.68\00:08:44.75 or maybe even three cups of water. 00:08:44.79\00:08:47.39 They're not going to get very clean, 00:08:47.46\00:08:49.16 and neither can we cleanse our system 00:08:49.19\00:08:52.56 on just a few cups of water. 00:08:52.59\00:08:55.53 So the question is, how much do we really need. 00:08:55.56\00:08:58.73 I'm glad you asked that question 00:08:58.77\00:09:01.00 because it's very important. 00:09:01.04\00:09:03.00 Well, we get water sources from different ways. 00:09:03.04\00:09:06.74 Of course, we get it from our food, 00:09:06.81\00:09:08.68 especially, if we're eating a lot of fruit, 00:09:08.71\00:09:12.25 that contains a lot of water, 00:09:12.28\00:09:14.48 and then we get it from the water that we drink. 00:09:14.52\00:09:17.95 And so, since we get some water from our food, 00:09:17.99\00:09:21.56 we really need about eight ounce glasses of water a day 00:09:21.59\00:09:26.39 or two liters every day. 00:09:26.43\00:09:29.96 So we need at least four to five to even survive, 00:09:30.00\00:09:34.94 and we need seven or eight to really feel great, 00:09:34.97\00:09:38.84 and nine or ten if we need to be revitalized. 00:09:38.87\00:09:42.38 If we're feeling not well 00:09:42.41\00:09:43.95 or if the climate is dry, we may need a little more, 00:09:43.98\00:09:48.72 so we can be revitalized with nine or ten. 00:09:48.75\00:09:51.95 But most of us need about 00:09:51.99\00:09:54.32 eight ounce glasses of water a day. 00:09:54.36\00:09:57.43 But then you ask also, 00:09:57.46\00:09:58.99 "Don't most people drink enough water?" 00:09:59.03\00:10:02.93 Well, the truth of the matter is that people today 00:10:02.96\00:10:07.10 drink more soft drinks, and more coffee, 00:10:07.14\00:10:11.51 and more caffeine. 00:10:11.54\00:10:12.91 You see, these coffee shops 00:10:12.94\00:10:15.84 just lined up with several people 00:10:15.88\00:10:18.45 waiting for caffeine. 00:10:18.48\00:10:20.48 And then they drink more alcohol 00:10:20.52\00:10:23.45 than they do good pure water. 00:10:23.49\00:10:26.72 So we need to have more water 00:10:26.76\00:10:29.36 in order to truly be healthy and live longer 00:10:29.39\00:10:33.23 but look, let's look at the consumption of soft drinks. 00:10:33.26\00:10:36.80 A staggering 90% of the world's population 00:10:36.83\00:10:40.94 consumes caffeinated soft drinks. 00:10:40.97\00:10:44.91 And 9 of 10 people all over the world, my friends, 00:10:44.94\00:10:50.58 are drinking caffeine soft drinks. 00:10:50.61\00:10:52.75 I see it as I travel the world as well. 00:10:52.78\00:10:55.98 And let's look at the consumption 00:10:56.02\00:10:57.85 of what kids are drinking. 00:10:57.89\00:11:00.36 The kids with the highest consumption levels reported 00:11:00.39\00:11:03.43 drinking about 20 ounces of soft drinks a day, 00:11:03.46\00:11:06.90 equal to nearly two popular sized cans. 00:11:06.93\00:11:11.37 So when we are getting this much soft drinks 00:11:11.40\00:11:16.37 which are dehydrating, not re-dehydrating, 00:11:16.40\00:11:19.97 we're really not hydrating our body. 00:11:20.04\00:11:23.41 And look, public health officials 00:11:23.45\00:11:25.85 call soft drinks liquid candy, 00:11:25.88\00:11:28.75 because most boys get 10 or 15 teaspoons 00:11:28.78\00:11:33.22 of refined sugar daily, 00:11:33.25\00:11:35.19 and most girls about 10 teaspoons 00:11:35.22\00:11:38.93 all from sweetened beverages. 00:11:38.96\00:11:40.96 Now, this doesn't count, my friends, 00:11:41.00\00:11:43.50 what they're getting from candy and from sugar cereals 00:11:43.53\00:11:48.00 and from other sources of processed foods, 00:11:48.04\00:11:51.24 but this is just from sweetened beverages. 00:11:51.27\00:11:55.41 And approximately 20% of toddlers 00:11:55.44\00:11:59.01 between the ages of even one and two consume soft drinks. 00:11:59.05\00:12:04.09 It is so sad when you see little babies, 00:12:04.12\00:12:08.06 little tiny children drinking soft drinks 00:12:08.09\00:12:11.33 out of a baby bottle. 00:12:11.36\00:12:13.83 But the consumption of soft drinks 00:12:13.90\00:12:15.80 annually in the United States 00:12:15.83\00:12:18.83 in 2015 was 40.7 gallons per person. 00:12:18.87\00:12:24.07 Now, I hope someone is getting your share, 00:12:24.11\00:12:26.94 and I'm sure someone's getting my share 00:12:26.98\00:12:29.11 because I don't drink any soft drinks 00:12:29.14\00:12:32.78 because I know they're detrimental to our health. 00:12:32.81\00:12:36.05 And according to the National Soft Drink Association 00:12:36.08\00:12:39.42 consumption of soft drinks 00:12:39.45\00:12:41.06 is now over 600 12-ounce servings 00:12:41.09\00:12:45.19 per person, per year. 00:12:45.23\00:12:47.56 This is, my friends, 19.72 ounces daily. 00:12:47.60\00:12:53.27 This is astronomical, it's unbelievable. 00:12:53.30\00:12:58.47 And the highest consumption of soft drinks 00:12:58.51\00:13:00.81 is actually in males between the ages of 12 and 29, 00:13:00.88\00:13:06.28 and they average a half a gallon a day 00:13:06.31\00:13:09.35 or eight ounce cups daily. 00:13:09.38\00:13:13.66 That is way too many empty calories 00:13:13.69\00:13:17.93 that we are getting. 00:13:17.96\00:13:19.59 And how does this happen, you say, how can this be true? 00:13:19.63\00:13:24.13 Well, fast food chains offer 00:13:24.17\00:13:26.43 20 ounce drinks with free refills, 00:13:26.47\00:13:29.64 and people want to get their money's worth, 00:13:29.67\00:13:32.14 and so at the movie theaters as well as convenience stores, 00:13:32.17\00:13:35.81 the most popular size is now the 64-ounce Double Gulp. 00:13:35.84\00:13:41.85 And so people are getting more soft drinks 00:13:41.88\00:13:45.42 than the body can really even handle. 00:13:45.45\00:13:49.42 What about soft drinks and other beverages? 00:13:49.46\00:13:51.83 someone ask. 00:13:51.86\00:13:53.19 Well, does it matter really what I drink, 00:13:53.23\00:13:55.96 they all contain water don't they? 00:13:56.00\00:13:58.27 So does it really matter? 00:13:58.30\00:13:59.83 Well, the body does use water in all its forms, 00:13:59.87\00:14:03.27 but these beverages pose many, many problems, my friend. 00:14:03.30\00:14:07.58 So let's look at the real truth about soft drinks. 00:14:07.61\00:14:11.68 Soft drinks are detrimental to our health. 00:14:11.71\00:14:15.05 They're filled with sugar and chemicals, 00:14:15.08\00:14:17.95 and they have health risks. 00:14:17.99\00:14:21.26 And look, the Harvard School of Public Health reported, 00:14:21.29\00:14:25.16 "Soft drinks are the beverage of choice 00:14:25.19\00:14:27.86 for millions of Americans, 00:14:27.93\00:14:29.63 but sugary drinks increase the risk of type 2 diabetes, 00:14:29.66\00:14:34.64 and heart disease, and other chronic conditions." 00:14:34.67\00:14:38.94 So these diseases that we've talked about 00:14:38.97\00:14:41.74 diabetes to heart disease, all of these chronic diseases 00:14:41.78\00:14:46.61 are actually because of our lifestyle practices, 00:14:46.68\00:14:50.35 and soft drinks is one problem that we have. 00:14:50.39\00:14:55.02 In a study of 40,000 men for two decades found that 00:14:55.06\00:14:59.43 those who averaged one can of a sugary beverage per day 00:14:59.46\00:15:04.20 had a 20% higher risk of a heart attack. 00:15:04.27\00:15:08.14 So these scientific findings are now showing us 00:15:08.17\00:15:13.61 that some of the things that we're doing 00:15:13.68\00:15:16.21 in our lifestyle practices are actually causing 00:15:16.24\00:15:19.51 some of these chronic diseases. 00:15:19.55\00:15:21.88 In another study of 80,000 women 00:15:21.92\00:15:25.22 found that those who consumed a can a day 00:15:25.25\00:15:28.89 of sugary drink had a 75% higher risk of gout 00:15:28.92\00:15:34.00 than women who rarely drink such drinks. 00:15:34.10\00:15:37.83 And so, we're finding science is finding that 00:15:37.87\00:15:41.84 we have to cut out really 00:15:41.87\00:15:44.84 some of these beverages that we're drinking. 00:15:44.87\00:15:47.58 Soft drinks contain large, large amounts of sugar. 00:15:47.61\00:15:52.48 In fact, a 20 ounce bottle of soda 00:15:52.51\00:15:55.88 may contain up to 36 cubes of sugar. 00:15:55.92\00:16:01.46 This is amazing, my friends, 00:16:01.49\00:16:03.96 that is an astronomical amount 00:16:03.99\00:16:08.50 and one, even one glass contains 00:16:08.53\00:16:11.47 about eight teaspoons of sugar 00:16:11.50\00:16:14.67 and that's a small glass actually. 00:16:14.70\00:16:17.11 There are much larger ones than that that people are drinking. 00:16:17.14\00:16:21.04 And sugar weakens the immune system, 00:16:21.08\00:16:24.28 and sugar reduces the ability to fight disease. 00:16:24.31\00:16:28.42 Soft drinks break down the system 00:16:28.45\00:16:30.59 and predispose our body to disease. 00:16:30.62\00:16:33.86 So we're seeing that soft drinks 00:16:33.89\00:16:37.03 are filled with empty calories. 00:16:37.06\00:16:39.43 They contain no nutrition at all. 00:16:39.46\00:16:43.16 And soft drinks contain empty calories, 00:16:43.20\00:16:47.40 we get the calories 00:16:47.44\00:16:48.87 but we do not get the nutrition that we need. 00:16:48.90\00:16:52.74 And so we have no vitamins, we have low minerals, 00:16:52.77\00:16:57.11 high empty calories and high sugar. 00:16:57.15\00:17:00.65 I'd like to do a little experiment here 00:17:00.68\00:17:03.45 and show you how much sugar 00:17:03.52\00:17:06.59 is actually in a 12 ounce can of a soft drink. 00:17:06.62\00:17:12.66 So let's take this good water. 00:17:12.69\00:17:14.93 Now, this is good purified water. 00:17:14.96\00:17:18.83 And how many would like to drink this? 00:17:18.87\00:17:21.20 Would you like to drink this, my friends, 00:17:21.24\00:17:22.90 those of you watching on 3ABN? 00:17:22.94\00:17:25.24 You'd like to drink this good pure water, right? 00:17:25.27\00:17:27.91 Well, I'm going to pour that into our glass, 00:17:27.94\00:17:31.38 and then we'll add here a few chemicals, 00:17:31.41\00:17:36.15 and so we'll put some coloring in here 00:17:36.18\00:17:40.16 and add a little bit of that but, of course, 00:17:40.19\00:17:42.82 you have the caffeine as well in these sugar, 00:17:42.86\00:17:47.30 in these soft drinks and then we'll add 00:17:47.30\00:17:50.17 a little more chemicals here to it. 00:17:50.23\00:17:54.80 And then we'll try to make this look like, 00:17:54.84\00:17:59.14 just like a soft drink that you're going to get, 00:17:59.17\00:18:02.78 and we'll stir this around and then... 00:18:02.81\00:18:07.05 Now, we have a soft drink, 00:18:07.08\00:18:09.28 but let me share how much sugar 00:18:09.32\00:18:11.42 you are getting in this one glass. 00:18:11.45\00:18:14.86 Well, we have one, 00:18:14.89\00:18:17.89 two, three, 00:18:17.93\00:18:22.20 four, five, 00:18:22.23\00:18:26.50 six, seven, 00:18:26.53\00:18:30.81 eight, nine, ten. 00:18:30.84\00:18:36.14 And in some soft drinks we even have as many as 12. 00:18:36.18\00:18:41.28 Now, would you like to drink this? 00:18:41.32\00:18:43.92 I don't think so, 00:18:43.99\00:18:45.75 but many people don't realize 00:18:45.79\00:18:48.96 how much sugar that they're really getting 00:18:48.99\00:18:51.96 in these soft drinks 00:18:51.99\00:18:53.40 which are detrimental to our health. 00:18:53.43\00:18:56.43 And so we have the calories down and... 00:18:56.46\00:19:00.37 The calories up and the sugar is up, 00:19:00.40\00:19:05.54 so the vitamins are down, the minerals are down 00:19:05.57\00:19:09.68 but the calories are up. 00:19:09.71\00:19:11.28 And so what do we have, my friends? 00:19:11.31\00:19:13.21 We have unbalanced nutrition. 00:19:13.25\00:19:16.12 Soft drinks give you too many extra calories 00:19:16.15\00:19:19.35 and that's why we have an obesity problem 00:19:19.39\00:19:22.36 here in this country. 00:19:22.39\00:19:24.39 And Harvard School of Public Health reported, 00:19:24.43\00:19:27.30 "A recent ground-breaking study of 33,097 individuals 00:19:27.36\00:19:33.64 showed that among people 00:19:33.67\00:19:35.24 with a genetic predisposition for obesity, 00:19:35.27\00:19:39.24 those who drank sugary drinks were more likely to be obese 00:19:39.27\00:19:44.08 than those who did not." 00:19:44.15\00:19:46.05 And then we wonder why we have 00:19:53.99\00:19:56.42 with all of these soft drinks. 00:19:56.46\00:19:59.19 So we need to be aware of the factors 00:19:59.23\00:20:02.10 that increase our risk of obesity, 00:20:02.13\00:20:05.23 and yet water helps us 00:20:05.27\00:20:07.90 to lose weight, not gain weight, 00:20:07.94\00:20:10.61 it's an effective appetite suppressant, 00:20:10.67\00:20:14.18 so we actually eat less. 00:20:14.24\00:20:16.38 So we need to drink more water 00:20:16.41\00:20:18.65 and not these other soft drinks. 00:20:18.68\00:20:21.12 And yet people all over the world, my friends, 00:20:21.15\00:20:24.05 get inadequate amounts of water. 00:20:24.09\00:20:27.52 And inadequate amount of water negatively impacts 00:20:27.56\00:20:30.59 both our health and even our mental attitudes. 00:20:30.63\00:20:34.60 So it not only affects our physical health, 00:20:34.63\00:20:37.50 but also our mental health. 00:20:37.53\00:20:39.80 Many people, my friends, are actually dehydrated 00:20:39.83\00:20:43.57 and they don't even know it and they're not really sick, 00:20:43.64\00:20:47.64 they're just plain thirsty. 00:20:47.68\00:20:50.38 And there are some signs of dehydration. 00:20:50.41\00:20:53.45 One is tiredness. 00:20:53.48\00:20:55.45 If you're feeling tired and lack of energy, 00:20:55.48\00:20:59.19 it may be that you need more water. 00:20:59.22\00:21:02.29 If you're experiencing headaches all the time, 00:21:02.32\00:21:05.43 it may be that you're lacking water 00:21:05.46\00:21:08.26 and you need to drink more. 00:21:08.30\00:21:10.23 And if you have dry skin 00:21:10.27\00:21:12.73 or you even have excessive thirst. 00:21:12.77\00:21:15.20 Now, you'll have some thirst when you start drinking water. 00:21:15.24\00:21:19.01 You'll want to drink more actually 00:21:19.04\00:21:21.71 as you even start drinking, but excessive thirst 00:21:21.74\00:21:25.91 is a very good sign of dehydration, 00:21:25.95\00:21:29.12 but a very good sign is the urine. 00:21:29.15\00:21:32.35 Every day there should be a clear urine. 00:21:32.39\00:21:35.19 If you know that you're getting a yellow urine, 00:21:35.22\00:21:38.59 you know that you're not drinking enough water. 00:21:38.63\00:21:41.43 And this is a good way to tell 00:21:41.46\00:21:43.73 whether you're drinking enough or not. 00:21:43.80\00:21:46.67 Well, when should we drink water? 00:21:46.70\00:21:48.87 When should we drink water? 00:21:48.90\00:21:50.27 Well, the best time to drink is in between our meals 00:21:50.34\00:21:53.07 and not with our meals. 00:21:53.11\00:21:55.54 In fact, drinking with meals can interfere 00:21:55.58\00:21:58.18 with the natural levels of acid 00:21:58.21\00:22:02.32 needed in the stomach to digest food properly. 00:22:02.35\00:22:05.82 In fact in a book Councils on Diets and Foods, page 420, 00:22:05.85\00:22:09.86 it says this, "Many make a mistake in drinking 00:22:09.89\00:22:13.23 cold water with their meals. 00:22:13.26\00:22:15.10 Taken with meals, water diminishes the flow 00:22:15.13\00:22:18.33 of the salivary glands, and the colder the water, 00:22:18.37\00:22:22.10 the greater the injury to the stomach. 00:22:22.14\00:22:26.64 So eat slowly, 00:22:26.68\00:22:28.44 and allow the saliva to mingle with the food. 00:22:28.48\00:22:31.71 The more liquid there is taken into the stomach 00:22:31.75\00:22:35.02 with the meals, the more difficult 00:22:35.05\00:22:37.65 it is for the food to digest, 00:22:37.69\00:22:40.02 for the liquid must first be absorbed. 00:22:40.06\00:22:43.06 But if anything is needed to quench thirst, pure water, 00:22:43.09\00:22:47.30 drunk some time before or after the meal, 00:22:47.36\00:22:51.17 is all that nature requires." 00:22:51.20\00:22:53.77 So, my friends, you see what happens is this. 00:22:53.80\00:22:57.14 When we drink cold water and we drink it with our meals, 00:22:57.17\00:23:01.31 the water has to warm up to our body temperature 00:23:01.34\00:23:04.68 before digestion begins and then it has to be absorbed 00:23:04.71\00:23:10.29 before digestion starts. 00:23:10.32\00:23:13.96 So actually drinking with meals delays 00:23:13.99\00:23:18.16 the whole digestive processes. 00:23:18.19\00:23:20.70 And so, we should drink 00:23:20.73\00:23:22.36 approximately 30 minutes before a meal 00:23:22.40\00:23:26.47 and two hours after a meal to really be healthy. 00:23:26.50\00:23:30.97 And when should we start? 00:23:31.01\00:23:32.34 We'll start with two glasses in the morning. 00:23:32.37\00:23:34.61 I start with those two glasses every morning when I get up. 00:23:34.64\00:23:38.41 My friends, our bodies need water 00:23:38.45\00:23:40.88 both on the inside and on the outside. 00:23:40.92\00:23:45.35 And so we need it, likewise on the outside 00:23:45.39\00:23:48.79 in order to be really healthy and a daily bath fortifies 00:23:48.82\00:23:52.16 even against a common cold. 00:23:52.19\00:23:54.30 And so, a bath is going to help if you have a cold 00:23:54.36\00:23:57.53 because the circulation is improved 00:23:57.57\00:24:00.44 and the blood flows freely. 00:24:00.47\00:24:03.71 In fact, in the book Counsels on Health, 104, it says, 00:24:03.74\00:24:07.58 "Bathing helps the bowels, the stomach, and the liver, 00:24:07.61\00:24:11.01 giving energy and new life to each." 00:24:11.05\00:24:14.35 So if you want energy and new life 00:24:14.38\00:24:18.09 to the entire system, the bowels, 00:24:18.12\00:24:20.79 the stomach and even the liver, 00:24:20.86\00:24:22.99 then even take a bath occasionally. 00:24:23.02\00:24:25.69 I know, that we have showers today 00:24:25.73\00:24:27.93 and that's very good, we need one every day 00:24:27.96\00:24:30.73 but occasionally it's good to have a bath as well. 00:24:30.77\00:24:33.90 In fact, Child Guidance, 108 says this, 00:24:33.94\00:24:37.11 "Scrupulous cleanliness is essential 00:24:37.17\00:24:39.67 to both physical and mental health. 00:24:39.71\00:24:42.01 Impurities are constantly thrown off 00:24:42.04\00:24:44.41 from the body through the skin. 00:24:44.45\00:24:46.25 Its millions of pores are quickly clogged 00:24:46.28\00:24:49.58 unless kept clean by frequent bathing." 00:24:49.62\00:24:53.72 So we need, my friends, water on the outside 00:24:53.76\00:24:57.79 and water on the inside, and occasionally a bath 00:24:57.83\00:25:00.96 because the entire system is strengthened 00:25:01.00\00:25:03.80 not weakened with a warm bath 00:25:03.87\00:25:07.34 and a warm bath also improves our sleep, 00:25:07.37\00:25:11.27 so we need water, my friends, 00:25:11.31\00:25:13.48 on the inside to promote good health. 00:25:13.51\00:25:16.41 And water invigorates the entire system 00:25:16.44\00:25:19.61 and brings health to our bodies. 00:25:19.65\00:25:23.05 So we need to use it on the outside 00:25:23.08\00:25:26.35 because water helps eliminate even some suffering, 00:25:26.39\00:25:30.73 and water is a means of saving many, many lives. 00:25:30.76\00:25:35.93 So God has given us the gift of water. 00:25:35.96\00:25:39.27 So drink water freely, cleansing the inside 00:25:39.30\00:25:43.87 and bathe daily to cleanse the outside. 00:25:43.91\00:25:47.58 These are God's true remedies, my friends, 00:25:47.61\00:25:51.05 so drinking plenty of water helps promote wellness. 00:25:51.08\00:25:55.08 So here is your prescription. 00:25:55.12\00:25:57.39 Drink eight, eight ounce glasses of water every day, 00:25:57.45\00:26:02.22 and then count how many glasses you drink. 00:26:02.26\00:26:06.13 Many people don't know, 00:26:06.16\00:26:08.06 they're not aware of how much they are actually drinking. 00:26:08.10\00:26:11.70 So water is available to all of us. 00:26:11.73\00:26:14.57 This is another one of God's health assurance plan, 00:26:14.60\00:26:18.71 so that we can be living to that healthy 100. 00:26:18.74\00:26:22.21 So here are my teenie tips for you. 00:26:22.24\00:26:24.95 Drink two glasses of warm water when you rise in the morning. 00:26:24.98\00:26:29.78 And then drink 30 minutes before a meal 00:26:29.82\00:26:32.55 or two hours after a meal. 00:26:32.59\00:26:34.52 And even carry your water bottle with you. 00:26:34.56\00:26:37.46 And then drink eight, 00:26:37.53\00:26:38.86 eight ounce glasses of water daily. 00:26:38.89\00:26:41.66 And then get water on the outside. 00:26:41.70\00:26:44.33 Take a bath or shower daily. 00:26:44.37\00:26:46.57 Take a tepid bath regularly 00:26:46.60\00:26:48.80 and use water treatments even for headaches or colds. 00:26:48.84\00:26:52.41 My friends, in Revelation 22:17, 00:26:52.44\00:26:56.51 it says this, "And the Spirit and the bride say, 'Come!' 00:26:56.54\00:27:00.15 and let him who hears say, 'Come!' 00:27:00.18\00:27:02.92 and let him who thirsts comes. 00:27:02.95\00:27:05.12 Whoever desires, let him take the water of
