Jesus has an
encounter with the Pharisees.

The Pharisees are griping
and complaining that Jesus...

because they're basically
trying to discredit Him.

They've heard that
He's the coming Messiah...

He's supposed to be
the Great Anointed One

and so, they're trying
to catch Him in His words...

they're trying to discredit Him
00:06:17.37\00:06:18.71
and so, they said to Him...
this is verse 33 of Luke 5,

speaking of the
Pharisees, "They said to Him,

'Why do the disciples of John
fast often and make prayers,

and likewise
those of the Pharisees,

but Yours... '"
notice the words here...

"eat and drink?" Okay,

"And He said to them,

'Can you make the friends...
'" this is Jesus speaking now,

"Can you make the
friends of the bridegroom fast

bridegroom is with them?

But the days will come

when the bridegroom
will be taken away from them;

It's interesting when you do
a word search and a deeper study

eating and drinking

get into the Spirit of Prophecy,

"eating and drinking" concept

life is just going on as normal,

was an overindulgence...

they're living
carelessly as if there is no God

and she goes on to say this

eating and drinking

and also the marrying
and giving in marriage.

called for vengeance

eating and drinking comes in.

their sin consisted
in taking these gifts

without gratitude to the Giver,

and debasing
themselves in indulging appetite

Okay... so going overboard...

"It was lawful
for them to marry. "

Notice, God didn't
condemn the marriage, right?

because He established it.

it was one of the
first institutions

There were giants on

we see that
through Cain and Abel...

we see this played out obviously

with the daughters who
again portrayed the evil acts

of the devil...
the spirit of the devil

and then, by the time we
get to Genesis chapter 6,

this daughters...

the sons of God and
the daughters of man...

we're talking about the
spiritual versus the carnal.

We're not
talking about, you know,

you know, angels
coming and reproducing with...

with, you know, fallen angels
reproducing with humans...

it's amazing that
people come to that concept

or to that conclusion
because as we read last week,

Romans chapter 8 verse 14,
it gives us clear indication

that we know these were not
fallen angels that came down,

right, these sons of
God were not fallen angels,

these were human
beings that were...

these were God's
people, these were the righteous

that went out and
amalgamated themselves

with the carnal, evil
heathens of the world,

and we see this right
here in Romans 8:14 it says,

"For as many as are
led by the Spirit of God,

these are the sons of God. "

So, that's a
one clear indication

that these were
not fallen angels

and I just wanted to
just kind of get rid of that

whole Nephilim
idea that, you know,

that somehow
that giants came about

because of the amalgamation of
fallen angels and human beings.

to make this point very clearly,
