Growing up I
read one of the books

that talked about his journey

as to why he accepted
the religion that he did

and became so well-known
for his stance religiously.

But he said I spent some
time in the home of Christians

and I did not like the
way they loved each other,

they showed such hostility

and I determined I don't want
to be a part of that religion

and he turned
his back on Christ.

But in his choice of
his religious walk in life,

he said,

whenever you are
confronted with an opponent,

conquer him with love.

I thought, how
profound because it lines up

with the very
principle in scriptures.

Hebrews 13,

presents the apostles
concluding admonition,

and we've gone
through the better sacrifices,

we've gone through ordinances,

we've gone through
the blood sacrifices,

we've talked about the
temple and as all the services,

the Priesthood of Christ,

now he's, he's
putting all that together

in the beautiful
package, saying, simply,

Jesus was willing
to do all of that,

because of His love for us

and we should
follow His example,

There are many people
today that are mistreated.

I was at an academy once I
was doing worship for them,

a week of prayer
for the weekend revival.

And when I walked into the room,

I was trying to figure
out how to get the attention

of these young people.

And I made the
statement, I said,

I'm going to only say this once.

I'm going to give
you my phone number

and the first person to text me

is going to get the
money in my right pocket.

I said it once

and all the students
hurriedly took out their phones

and started texting
as quickly as they could.

And I said at the
end of our weekend,

What was so amazing, the
guy who won was a young man

who on campus was mistreated.

He wasn't involved,
the boys picked on him.

And when I mentioned his name,

the young ladies just
screamed and they said it's

and they mentioned his name.

And I said why did
you guys respond that way?

They said, he's the
guy that's always left out,

always
overlooked, always picked on,

always mistreated,

and I was so
excited to bring him up.

I said I didn't tell
you how much is in my pocket

but whatever
was there on Friday,

I'll give it to you today.

And everybody just
stood up and clapped

because he was the
one that was mistreated.

The Bible says in Hebrews 13:3

remembering the mistreated.

Those who are mistreated,

What is he saying?

at the flip of a coin

miraculous to miserable.

how did I get here?

I went to visit one
of our, many years ago,

one of the church
members here actually,

no longer living here
is in South America now.

And I went to visit him
in the local county jail

and I said, "What happened?"

He said, "I just
lost it. I just blew it.

I'm guilty.

I just blew it."

And because of,

because it was
his first offense,

they let him go
three days later.

And I was so thankful for that.

He was so excited, so energetic,

but somebody
stepped on this property.

And his reaction to
them was just so off-color,

accused him of something

arrested, but he was in jail

and I thought if I

I told you, you
shouldn't do that.

No, or what I say, you

And I prayed with
him and praise the Lord,

have fellowship lunch,

Sometimes you don't
have to give any advice.

to give any counsel,

people want to know

springing up causes trouble,

people that are bitter.

I talk to people on
the phone sometimes,

and they find every reason
to just not like the church

and I say to them,

"You are
whitewashing the entire church

and its membership
and all the pastors

with that statement.

You know, brother, sister,

I think you need to
re-examine your heart,

because I've
been around the world,

and that church can't be
as bad as you say it is."

And so, sometimes
people have experiences

that throw them into
that root of bitterness,

and they begin to see
everything the very same way.

So be careful when you
are faced with adversity,

don't allow the
root of bitterness.

As I've said, confront
the issues of your life,

lest they become
the issues of your mind

and then reveal
themselves through the words

of your mouth.

The next one Paul encourages
us to do is be hospitable.

forget to entertain strangers,

some have unwittingly

I may not cover all mine,
but I've got to tell the story.

Once my wife
and I and her cousin

were driving down
from Maryland to Florida,

snowing, heavily snowing,

and we were on route

of the road, it was snowing.

And he had an overcoat,
he didn't even have on a hat.

He had his neck covered.

And we passed him all I
think about 60 miles an hour.

And we just saw
the snow blowing.

car and it was not my car,

it was my wife's cousin's car.

just being out there in the snow

avoiding the profanation

of marriage through
sexual relationships

outside of marriage.

The expression fornicators

to every form of
sexual immorality.

In addition, Greco-Roman

in regard to sexual ethics.

A double standard was common.

in their sexual relationships

as long as they were discreet.

Paul warns, however, that
God will judge adulterers.

Believers should not
let social conventions

establish their
own ethical standard.

some research on this,

you know, we live in a world
where it's an understatement

to say that our world
has become over-sexualized.

I mean, it's
flooding us at every corner,

but I was just looking
at some statistics on this

and it's amazing how,

you know, you look
from how societies mentality
00:20:11.37\00:20:14.61
on sexual orientation,
00:20:14.64\00:20:16.28
the practices of
certain sexual practices,
00:20:16.31\00:20:19.28
how it's completely
changed over the years.
00:20:19.31\00:20:21.48
In fact, I saw recent studies
00:20:21.52\00:20:24.29
and a recent
statistical report, 65 to 70%
00:20:24.32\00:20:27.99
of Americans believe
that it's not a moral issue
00:20:28.02\00:20:31.89
to have premarital sex.
00:20:31.93\00:20:34.03
This is a
culmination of many studies
00:20:34.06\00:20:36.30
that have been
done over the years.
00:20:36.33\00:20:37.93
But 65 to 70, that's the vast
majority think that it's okay.

In fact, I found
one that said it's okay.

Many of this
group of the 65 to 70%
00:20:44.31\00:20:47.01
reported that it's no problem
at all if a 16-year-old decides
00:20:47.04\00:20:50.85
that they want to have
sex outside of marriage.

Recent polls show
that more than 72%
00:20:54.05\00:20:56.62
of American citizens
believe that the LGBTQ movement
00:20:56.65\00:20:59.75
is a great thing.

So America has changed.

We know the world,
in general, has changed.

In regards to divorce again,

this idea of not
committing adultery,

sexual immorality pertaining
to the sanctity of marriage,

the Bible says God
will not be mocked,

my friends, we have
to uphold the sanctity

and the sacredness of
marriage that God instituted.

Over more than 115
studies done over recent years,

all the way up to the
year 2020, almost 50%.

This is what
the statistics show,

almost 50% of
marriages in the United States

will end in
divorce or separation.

Researchers estimate that
41% of all first marriages

end in divorce.

marriages end in divorce.

Every 13 seconds there

was one of the main categories

Greco-Roman world.

where he talks
about how the love

of the desire for money
is the root of all evil.

Of course, the defense
against the vices and attitude

that Paul
encourages in several epistles

with the things that they had.

reason why you don't have

Because the Bible
says that, you know,

there are some people,

some people can
handle that amount of money,

and other people can't.

But the idea is, you
know what a lot of people say

if I only had a million dollars,
00:23:25.20\00:23:26.53
it would change my life.

Oh, how much
greater I would live.

But the truth is, we
live in a world of more,

and more, and
more, and more of greed.

The idea is, you know,
if I had a million dollars,

then you would want $2 million.

This is the kind of world that
we live in today, my friends.

Then we have also, it's one
thing you see this in the world

we expect this type of
mentality in the world.

But then we
have these people out

here preaching a
prosperity gospel,

saying that, you know,
Jesus wants us to be rich.

We have to be
reminded in Matthew 19:23-24,
00:23:51.86\00:23:54.36
Jesus said to the
disciples, "Assuredly,

I say to you that it
is hard for a rich man
00:23:56.33\00:23:58.80
to enter the kingdom of heaven.
00:23:58.83\00:24:00.30
And I say again to you, He says,
00:24:00.34\00:24:01.67
it is easier for a
camel to go through the eye

of a needle than a rich man
to enter the kingdom of God."

context of Jesus Christ
