what the lesson leads us

that righteousness to come,

just to kind of explain to
us this Mi-Yitten in the Hebrew.

He says, "Biblical
Hebrew, like most languages,

is sprinkled with idioms,

when specific words are
used to mean something different

from what they actually say.

One idiom in the Old Testament
is and he says, Mi-Yitten,

which, of course, Mi
is the question 'who?'

and yitten means 'will give.'

So, literally,
Mi-Yitten is 'who will give?'

And, of course,
in the Old Testament,

however, the phrase
expresses the idea of a wish,

or a strong
desire of someone wanting

something badly."

And, my friends, isn't
that what we experience

when you behold
Jesus Christ on the cross?

When you spend some time,

language here for a moment.

When you spend some time
at that altar of sacrifice,

as you're in the way of God,

Thy way, oh, God
is in the sanctuary.

And that beautiful
experience begins at the gate,

your realization
that you have need

of forgiveness of
needed repentance,

the uplifted lamb,

the Lamb of God, who

My friends, we see very clearly
that in response to that,

our natural response is
that we see something's wrong,

and we desire badly

and we kind of somewhat
come out of that saying,

who will give righteousness?

Who will provide righteousness?

And we desire
that righteousness.

Just some
examples that the lesson

Oh, that these people
would have a heart to follow Me

and to keep My commandments.

What an example of the
reality of freewill here.

Notice how God is
giving them choice, a freewill.

Here we see
that there are limits

to what God can do

in the midst of
the Great Controversy.

God limited Himself
because God is love.

True love requires freedom.

This use of Mi-Yitten reveals

that even God
can't trample on freewill

for the moment He did,

it would no longer be free.

So God has limits as
well, but in this case,

it's for the salvation of man.

It's because He is love.

You know, this is
talking about repentance.

God is drawing these
people to repentance.

He's drawing us,

He's calling us
to have a repentance.

We need to see our need of Him.

We need to understand
our dependence on Him.

And as I was
reading through this,

you know, God's saying, "Oh,

that they would
have such a heart."

You know, it reminded me

as He's calling out to us,
He's calling out to the lost.

And He, "Says to them: 'As
I live, ' says the Lord God,

'I have no pleasure in
the death of the wicked,
00:12:23.51\00:12:25.47
but that they turn,
00:12:25.51\00:12:26.84
now that is the wicked
turn from his way and live."

And you can just
imagine hear Him crying out,

"Turn you, turn you
from your evil ways!

For why should you
die, O house of Israel?'"

calling us to repentance.

Jesus coming out of the temple,

showdown with the Pharisees

in the last week prior
before going to the cross.

Matthew 23:37, Jesus cries
out, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,

the one who kills
the prophets and stones

those who are sent to her!

How often I wanted to
gather your children together,
00:12:56.71\00:12:59.91
as a hen gathers her
chicks under her wings,

but you were not willing!"

My friends, that's the key.
