Well, as we begin the lesson,

Saturday portion.

And it brings to us something

that we have seen

for many, many
years here at 3ABN

pastoral
ministries for many years

and even as you meet people.

You hear different reasons
00:02:45.56\00:02:47.20
why people do not
want to keep the Sabbath,
00:02:47.23\00:02:50.03
or they don't
know about the Sabbath.
00:02:50.07\00:02:51.63
Some people say,
00:02:51.67\00:02:53.00
"Well, it was changed.
00:02:53.03\00:02:55.50
We don't know what
days of the week are
00:02:55.54\00:02:57.14
and what we lost track
of which day is which."
00:02:57.17\00:03:00.18
And so many different,
00:03:00.21\00:03:02.71
you know, sometimes
you call them excuses.
00:03:02.74\00:03:05.11
But people try to
explain away things
00:03:05.15\00:03:07.82
that they do not
understand perhaps.
00:03:07.85\00:03:11.42
And unfortunately,
we also have many people
00:03:11.45\00:03:14.69
that are on their
own, they're studying
00:03:14.72\00:03:16.26
or perhaps they
heard something on 3ABN,
00:03:16.29\00:03:19.19
and they come to the conclusion
or are believing that,
00:03:19.23\00:03:23.16
wait a minute, there
is a seventh day Sabbath.
00:03:23.20\00:03:25.97
Why are we not keeping
the seventh day Sabbath?
00:03:26.00\00:03:29.87
So they go to one
of their church members
00:03:29.90\00:03:32.81
that they respect,
00:03:32.84\00:03:34.34
maybe the pastor,
00:03:34.38\00:03:35.71
and they say,
00:03:35.74\00:03:37.08
"Hey, I'm studying,
00:03:37.11\00:03:38.45
or I've heard that
the seventh day Sabbath,
00:03:38.48\00:03:40.95
we're supposed to keep this day.
00:03:40.98\00:03:42.32
Why aren't we doing this?"
00:03:42.35\00:03:44.15
And this well respected pastor
00:03:44.19\00:03:46.42
or brother or
sister will tell them,
00:03:46.45\00:03:47.86
"Well, it's because
it's been done away,
00:03:47.89\00:03:49.79
it was nailed to the cross,"
00:03:49.82\00:03:51.16
or different reasons they hear.
00:03:51.19\00:03:52.53
And because of their
respect for this person,
00:03:52.56\00:03:55.16
they kind of say okay,
00:03:55.20\00:03:56.53
and they kind of
go along with this.
00:03:56.56\00:03:58.37
Now, this is a
dangerous thing to accept,
00:03:58.40\00:04:01.20
because we are
supposed to go to the Bible,
00:04:01.24\00:04:04.81
and whatever you
hear, go to the Bible
00:04:04.84\00:04:06.98
and tested by the scriptures,
00:04:07.01\00:04:08.41
to the law and to the testimony.

If they speak not
according to this is,

it is because there
is no light in them.

And we've heard many, many
different stories of people

that after listening
to the programs on 3ABN

or receiving a book,

such as 3ABN has
the Ten Commandments

Twice Removed.

They understand that

the seventh day
Sabbath is biblical,

that it is binding, and
they accept the Sabbath.

They said,

"You know, I've been
studying these things for years.
00:04:35.20\00:04:37.51
And when I read this book,
00:04:37.54\00:04:39.27
when I heard
this message on 3ABN,

finally I said yes, yes,
00:04:41.11\00:04:42.84
I've known this all my life,
00:04:42.88\00:04:44.21
but somehow did not
start keeping the Sabbath day."

So let's go to the scriptures,

because you see the
Sabbath is linked to creation.
00:04:54.09\00:04:58.43
And when you go to Genesis 2:1,
00:04:58.46\00:05:02.50
you will notice that
00:05:02.53\00:05:05.30
the Bible declares to us
00:05:05.33\00:05:07.64
that after creation,
God did something marvelous.
00:05:07.67\00:05:13.04
In Genesis Chapter 2,
beginning in verse 1, it says,
00:05:13.07\00:05:16.88
"Thus the heavens and the earth,
00:05:16.91\00:05:20.22
and all the hosts
of them were finished.
00:05:20.25\00:05:23.99
And on the seventh day,
00:05:24.02\00:05:25.92
God ended His
work which He had done,
00:05:25.95\00:05:29.12
and He rested on the seventh day
00:05:29.16\00:05:31.76
from all His work,
which He had done."
00:05:31.79\00:05:36.00
So here we have,
00:05:36.03\00:05:38.33
that God rested
on the seventh day.
00:05:38.37\00:05:41.24
Notice now verse 3,

"Then God
blessed the seventh day

and sanctified it,

because in it, He
rested from all His work

which God had created and made."

And so this is the record,
as we find in the scriptures,

the Sabbath is
not mentioned by name,

until you get to
Exodus Chapter 16.

And some people think,
wait a minute, is it Exodus 20,

that the law was given,
00:06:09.86\00:06:11.63
but the Sabbath
was already known
00:06:11.67\00:06:13.50
as evidenced by
Exodus Chapter 16,
00:06:13.54\00:06:17.54
it's also
evidenced by the scriptures.

You see in Genesis Chapter 26,
00:06:19.81\00:06:22.44
where God says of Abraham,
00:06:22.48\00:06:24.25
he kept My statues
and My commandments.
00:06:24.28\00:06:27.62
So it was known.
00:06:27.65\00:06:29.15
It was lived, and followed
by God's faithful people.
00:06:29.18\00:06:34.72
Since the beginning of creation,
00:06:34.76\00:06:36.86
Adam and Eve kept
the Sabbath day holy.
00:06:36.89\00:06:41.56
And so the question is,

why aren't
people doing it today?

You know, had people
been keeping the Sabbath day
00:06:45.43\00:06:49.04
since the beginning,
00:06:49.07\00:06:50.71
we would not have so
many people believing
00:06:50.74\00:06:53.48
that we came from a
cesspool of nothing,
00:06:53.51\00:06:56.58
evolutionary ideas have
come into the minds of people
00:06:56.61\00:07:00.38
that they think
we are the accident
00:07:00.42\00:07:04.65
out of an explosion in space.
00:07:04.69\00:07:07.76
God created us.
00:07:07.79\00:07:09.52
And so let's go to
the Book of Genesis

and see in Chapter 2,
00:07:12.46\00:07:15.16
the marvelous revelation.
00:07:15.20\00:07:17.90
Actually Genesis Chapter
1, notice Genesis 1:26-27,
00:07:17.93\00:07:21.44
"Then God said,
00:07:21.47\00:07:22.80
'Let Us make man in Our image,
according to Our likeness,
00:07:22.84\00:07:28.11
let them have dominion
over the fish of the sea,
00:07:28.14\00:07:32.01
over the birds of the
air, and over the cattle,
00:07:32.05\00:07:34.92
over all the earth and
over every creeping thing
00:07:34.95\00:07:38.65
that creeps on the earth.'
00:07:38.69\00:07:40.26
So God created man in His image,

in His own image,

in the image of God

He created him, male and female

So what do we have here?

We have here God telling us,
we were created in His image.

You're not the
result of some accident.

It was God's design,

you were
designed perfectly by God.

You see, in
Genesis 1:31 it says,

that God looked at
everything He had made.

And lo, it was very good.
00:08:09.48\00:08:11.32
You were created
by a Master Designer.
00:08:11.35\00:08:16.16
The workings of your
body perfectly designed
00:08:16.19\00:08:20.66
to take care of all
the functions of the body.
00:08:20.70\00:08:23.47
Your heart beats in a
sync to keep you going.
00:08:23.50\00:08:28.74
Your blood flows
through your body
00:08:28.77\00:08:30.27
because a
Designer, a Creator made you.
00:08:30.31\00:08:34.28
And the Sabbath is
linked to the Creator.

And so, I encourage you

to consider the
words of Exodus Chapter 20.

Let us go to verses 8-11.

Exodus 20:8-11.

You're going to hear
some marvelous things
00:08:49.59\00:08:51.53
during this hour.
00:08:51.56\00:08:52.96
And I encourage

Let's go Exodus 20:8-11.

This is what is written.

"Remember the
Sabbath day to keep it holy."

I will stop right
there for a moment

and say, wait a minute,

this verse begins with
remember the Sabbath day.

This implies that it
was something already known,

but God knew that men, women
were prone to forgetfulness,

to forget their Creator.

And this, if you
examine the Ten Commandments

is the commandment that
has the most amount of words,

it also identifies the Creator.

Let's look at it as
we continue in verse 9.

It says,

"Six days you shall
labor and do all your work,

but the seventh
day is the Sabbath
00:09:40.71\00:09:43.58
of the LORD your God."

And you may have noticed
00:09:46.58\00:09:47.92
as you're reading
and perhaps you didn't,

that the word Lord
00:09:49.65\00:09:51.32
is capital L, capital
O, capital R, capital D.
00:09:51.35\00:09:55.79
This is because the
translators recognize
00:09:55.82\00:09:58.19
that the name of
Jehovah was there.

And they were
careful not to try to,

for people not to pronounce
and take God's name in vain.

The translator began to follow
00:10:08.54\00:10:10.14
what the Jewish had done
to be careful with God's name.

And so the word
here is Yahweh God.

And so this is our
Creator, He is our Creator.

"In it, you shall do no work."

It says,

"You nor your
son, nor your daughter,

For in six days,

linked to the time of creation.

keeping the Sabbath day holy,

to give you added blessing

been keeping the Sabbath

it's been a blessing for me,

and see that the Lord is good.

Sabbath rest to do you good.

everything the Lord gives us,

But why is there an issue
