the rhythm in creation,

about God's evaluation

it begins by saying,
in the beginning God,

and the evaluation that
we find from the Word of God

about all that He had
done, it says in Genesis 1:31,

"Then God saw
everything that He had made.

And indeed it was?"

And so the
evening and the morning

I want to begin by
dispelling a rumor or a fallacy

or a myth about how
long creation week was.

The Bible
didn't say it was just,

it was the end of the sixth day,

was the end of the fifth
day, the fourth and third.

It says the
evening and the morning,

two words in the
Hebrew that clearly delineate

the daytime from the nighttime.

We have terminologies
in our language today

that also shows us
the cycles of the day.

And when we talk
about the rhythms,

everything that God created,
there's a rhythm built into it.

Now think about that.

When your heart is not beating
right is called arrhythmia.

Why?

Because it's out of rhythm.

When you think about the mind,

the body and just
to be not insensitive,

but people that have,
or experience seizures

is because the rhythm
in the body was broken

and the body is
starving trying to fight

its way back into the rhythm.

Why? Because God
created rhythm in everything.

So I've said that to say
this, if you have an issue

with rhythm, all of
God's creation is in rhythm.

And I understand you might
be talking about an instrument,

but it's important
that we stay in the cadences

and the rhythm
of God's creation.

The days, the months,
the weeks and the years,

the seconds, the
minutes, the hours, the months,

and the cycles of the seasons,

the birds appreciate the
rhythms of God's creation.

They know when to leave.

They know when to arrive.

My wife and I are privileged.

Every spring, the
Canadian geese show up.

They have their children,

they have a picnic all spring
and all summer on our lawn.

And then they leave and we
don't see them until next year

when they decide to
continue the rhythm.

The squirrels know when to
go to bed and when to wake up.

We see the raccoons at
night, that's their rhythm.

The squirrels during the
day, that's their rhythms.

The birds eat as much food

as they can till the
sun completely disappears.

That's the end of their rhythm.

And they come
back the next morning.

That's God's
creation, but God did something

those rhythms cycles

that He wants us to understand

Let's look at Genesis Chapter 2,

I wanna show you some
of these wonderful things.

After the six days of creation,

God created
something multidimensional

that had no
physical measurements.

Multidimensional, no
physical measurements.

What did God create?

Genesis Chapter 2,
let's look at verses 1-3.

And I could, I would hate to say

speaking of the rhythmic,

rhythmic cycles, we may cover

some of the same scriptures
throughout our lesson,

which has been a cadence

that we've experienced

And he did what? Rested.

Now we know that
God was not tired,

And do you know that we may
be able to trace the new moons,

the rhythmic heavens

because they
manifest themselves visibly.

We can see the
seasons coming and going.

We can trace the rising
and the setting of the sun,

the 24 hour period,
the seasons, the cold,

the warm, the
hot, the cool again,

but there's no place that
we can find a seven day week

other than in the Word of God.

Now, think about
that for a moment.

Only the Bible talks
about the seven day cycle,

but everyone knows about it.

Everyone knows that regardless

of what the
names of the days are,

everyone knows
that there's a cycle.

If somebody says,
well, has time changed?

I can guarantee you
with this little test,

they'll figure
out what day is which.

But when God builds His rhythm,
that multidimensional rhythm

no physical dimensions

and I to enjoy together.

And then He added something.

Let's go to Exodus Chapter 20.

answers the question,

that rhythm and for whom?

sounds just like Genesis 2:1-3.

Therefore the Lord did," what?

Now let's look and see verses

Now, wait a minute.

Think about that for a moment.

What is another word for holy?

Sanctified, blessed.

God blessed one day of
the week, the seventh one,

He blessed it.

He sanctified and to establish
a rhythm in His creation

He rested.

He rested not
because of exhaustion,

not because He
needed a breather,

but He
established another rhythm.

Now, let's
consider that for a moment.

As we look at
Exodus 20:8-10, he says,

"Remember the
Sabbath day to keep it holy.

Six days, you shall
labor and do all your work."

Why? That's what He did.
00:09:47.75\00:09:49.25
That was His rhythm.
00:09:49.28\00:09:51.05
"But the seventh day
is the Sabbath of the Lord
00:09:51.09\00:09:54.92
Your God."

I'm not going to read the
rest of it because we know that.

But notice what He says?

If God is your God,
he says, you know what?

You don't have to
try to pick a day.

I've already picked the day.

Now the question is not
what day is the Sabbath?

The question is who is your God?

The seventh day is
the Sabbath of the Lord,

So, if you have the God
of creation as your God,

then He has already said,

this is the rhythm
I want you to fall in.

So, if the Lord was
at the head of the line

and we were marching behind Him,

ask yourself the
question as a Christian,

would you be out
of step with God?

Would you be out
of step with Jesus?

Because He made it
clear that the Sabbath,

the seventh day was blessed

before there was any
other nation, just Adam and Eve.

And then in the New Testament,

He reiterates the significance

of why He did what He
did on the seventh day.

Let's look at Mark 2:27-28.

Notice what the Bible
tells us about this rhythm.

God makes it clear as
who this rhythm is for.

"And He said to them,
'The Sabbath was made for man

and not man for the Sabbath.'"

Before we go to verse 28, who
did God create this rhythm for?

Man.

Now watch this, the day
doesn't benefit from us,

we benefit from the day.
00:11:13.40\00:11:15.04
God said, when
this day comes around,

whatever you did the last
six, cease it on this day.
00:11:17.47\00:11:21.14
Not only you, you nor
your son, nor your daughter,
00:11:21.18\00:11:24.25
nor your manservant,
nor your maidservant,

nor your
cattle, nor the stranger
00:11:26.31\00:11:28.15
that is within your gates.

And it goes right
back, for in six days.

So the Lord says, this
day I've set aside for you,

dive into the rhythm and we
can spend this time together,

not a holy hour,
not a holy moment,

but a holy day
from evening to evening.

And think about
that for a moment.

You know, when 12
o'clock, there was a time

that people thought the day
started at 12 o'clock at night,
00:11:51.44\00:11:54.88
but it's called midnight,
00:11:54.91\00:11:56.58
which means it's
the middle of the night,
00:11:56.61\00:11:58.81
just as 12
o'clock in the daytime
00:11:58.85\00:12:01.22
doesn't start
the day it's midday.

And the days in the
Bible has eight watches.

The first watch of the
night is from 6 PM to 9 PM.

The second watch
9 PM to midnight,
00:12:10.86\00:12:13.33
the third watch
midnight to 3 AM.
00:12:13.36\00:12:15.50
And the fourth
watch 3 AM to 6 AM.

And when you begin to
apply the scriptural watches,
00:12:18.57\00:12:21.00
you begin to understand clearly
00:12:21.04\00:12:22.70
how events took
place in the Bible.

For example, when the apostles
were speaking in tongues

on the day of
Pentecost, somebody said

it's only the
third hour of the day.

That was the
ending of the first watch.

In other words, it's
too early in the morning

for anybody to
be that intoxicated.

And so the watches of the days,
and you find that principle

all throughout Scripture.

But here's my point,
God established a rhythm.

So, my challenge
to you as a Christian

is don't try to follow the
rhythm that man establishes

because man says,
this is the rhythm

most suitable for us.
00:12:54.37\00:12:56.07
But if he answered the
question, who is your God,

then it's imperative
that you fall into the rhythm
00:12:58.44\00:13:00.84
of the creator
of heaven and earth.
00:13:00.88\00:13:04.41
Now here's the reason why,
00:13:04.45\00:13:06.01
because this rhythm was
established in creation.
00:13:06.05\00:13:09.25
Follow this, kept by the
people of God before Israel,
00:13:09.28\00:13:14.49
because Abraham, Genesis 26:5,
Abraham kept my commandments,
00:13:14.52\00:13:20.13
my statutes and my laws.
00:13:20.16\00:13:22.10
The rhythm was established.
00:13:22.13\00:13:23.50
Then the nation of
Israel came into existence.
00:13:23.53\00:13:25.83
And as the people,
they honored the Sabbath
00:13:25.87\00:13:27.60
all throughout their dwelling,
00:13:27.64\00:13:29.50
then Jesus shows up
in the New Testament.

He honors the Sabbath.
00:13:31.71\00:13:33.04
Luke 4:16.

He is nailed to the cross,
but the Sabbath continues.

Matthew 24:20.

Pray that your
flight be not in the winter,

neither on the Sabbath day.

When Jerusalem was
destroyed, he said,

make sure that it
doesn't happen on the Sabbath.

The apostles kept the Sabbath.

In the Book of Acts it's
mentioned time and time again.

So, watch this
creation, Old Testament,

New Testament,
Jesus, the apostles.

And then Isaiah 66:22-23 says,

"It will be kept
throughout eternity

in the new earth and in heaven."

So here's my challenge to you.

I challenge you if
you haven't done it yet

to fall into the
rhythm of worship,

as you worship the
Creator of heaven and earth,

who is also the Lord, your God.

gift of God's presence.

but He expected them to

by returning that
love to Him and obedience

response of love and faith.

In this book of the law,

blessings for obedience
