there were problems.

Lot of people, they
decide not to come to Jesus.

There's a lot of
controversy that was going on.

And now Jesus is coming.

I never thought of it
quite like this before.

That as my mind begin to,

I say, turn on some
of these things here.

Jesus was looking
at the cities and say,

Look, I brought
the gospel there.

I was there personally,
Myself, I sent My prophets,

I sent them to
these specific cities,

but the cities spurned them.

Yeah. They did not listen.

And God says, basically,

hold you accountable.

And so sometime, as pastors,
different ones, evangelists,

you go to towns,
and you evangelize.

the people get lazy,

they may don't want to come out,

or they come out and
they hear the gospel,

and then they just go their way.

Jesus had
something to say about that.

I thought it was
very, very interesting,

because even the
leaders, pastors, teachers

sometimes have the tendency,

sometimes get a
little bit discouraged.

If you know, even though
you know God is in charge,

you know that the Holy
Spirit is present there.

But Jesus said something
that's very interesting,

He used the word up, upbraid.

It's not a familiar
word, really to me upbraid.

As He began to
talk about these cities

that rejected the message,

He said He's
going to upbraid there

or He reviled them,

that's kind of
an interesting word,

He reproached upon them,
00:07:51.00\00:07:52.97
because they turned
their back on the gospel.

That's kind of
words that you think,

well, I don't know,
Jesus would say that or not.

But, you know, He
did that to the cities

that rejected His message.

So as we look at this
here, some joy and some hope,

certainly came, as Jesus
said there in Mark 12:37,

is interesting.

He said, "The common
people heard Him gladly."

Oh, I like that,

the common
people heard Him gladly.

Well, I'm a common, right?

I'm a common person. I
want to hear Him gladly.

And I know you do, too.

Matthew 11:25, we want to
just quickly look at that,

because that is a
misunderstood verse

some time with many people.

In this passage, He says this,

Well, here, it seems
that God is represented

as hiding truth.

He can't hide Himself,

But He's talking
about hiding truth.

wise and the prudent

He was talking to the

over and over to hear

Word, Christ's message,

especially in the
early part of His ministry,

because He worked
in Judea, didn't He?

So we're saying the leaders,

if we have an opportunity
to hear the Word of God,

we may need to keep our
ears open that we hear it

going to be accountable.

I believe we're going to be
accountable for those things.

We had the opportunity,

the opportunity
in which to learn

and we decided, well,

So you know, there was a
chance here for those leaders

to evaluate the works of Christ

it apart many times.

They were educated.

hundreds of
religious restrictions

and duties that
made life more difficult.

It made it a little
harder to have a smile,

because it was the yoke
of works oriented salvation.

As a matter of fact,
when Paul spoke about

salvation by works,

he called it a yoke of bondage,

and I believe that's
what you're covering today,

is an unearned gift.

Now, some people are
leery of being yoked.

and they're pulling

Let me tell you something.

You're yoked,
whether you know it or not.

You're either yoked to
Satan, or yoked to Christ.

or of obedience

Let me tell you something,

if I don't like pray more

if I don't do this, or

And I remember I
was like 50 years old.
