allegiances and loyalties.

We're supposed to
love and honor our parents,

We've got to put
Christ above everyone else,

above our spouse, our children.

That's not what
Jesus was talking about.

Picking up our cross

burying some burden.

knew what it meant in his day.

To pick up the cross meant that

one of those sins

that has roots

So selfishness is contradictory

the word selfish,

going to take my ease

and enjoy life.

You see, the Bible
points out in Matthew 6:33,

the blessing that we could have,

as it says there.

"But seek first
the kingdom of God

and His righteousness,

shall be added unto you."

There's another scripture

that I would like
to bring out to you.

Now, this is the sum

prevailing sins of the church.

That's right. How can this be?

The reason this happens is

because people
are looking to self

instead of looking to Jesus.

Jesus is the author
and finisher of our faith.

And if we're
spending time with Jesus,

yes, as Sister

and according to the scriptures,

selfishness will not be in us.

So the solution to this is

to take up our cross daily

and follow Jesus,
and you crucify self.

Satan is going to work hard

selfish acts every single day.

So there's not a

there's really not a second

when you don't need Jesus.

discussing the Scripture

to be the greatest.

Where would they end up?

Even God, I think wouldn't
have gotten mom involved.

You know, who's gonna
be the greatest, you know.

So sometimes we
won't get mom and God,

you know,
involved 'cause she carries
00:27:44.43\00:27:45.76
a little bit of weight.
00:27:45.79\00:27:47.13
But remember, this was before
the Spirit of the Living God

was poured out on the disciples.

When the Spirit,

the real Spirit of
the Living God came,

there was some
changes in their life,

they were no longer the same.

You don't go to work and

You know, the boss

who's the greatest?

That might be a time we
need, we might have thoughts,

but we need to kind of
keep them to ourselves.

And these are called silences.

You know, it's kind of

but the question
has to be addressed,

talking about this thing,

They were talking
about this situation,

and I want to call
it an abstract way.

talking about it in a...

They're gonna summarize it,

going to get into big,

their thinking was concerned,

who are looking for success
even in the Christian world.

They said,
