sorrow and sadness,

and death and suffering,
and hardship and disease

on every side and pandemic?

Why should the
Christian feel joy?

On what basis can we
claim that promise of joy?

covenant that should free us

these words of the apostle,

Full joy, not partial joy,
but that your joy may be full.

And the apostle that wrote
this understood the challenges

of being persecuted
for righteousness sake.

But one of the greatest
advantages of those who know

that their joy can be
full, he made it clear,

the sufferings
of this present life
00:07:54.40\00:07:55.84
are not worthy

to be compared with the glory
that shall be revealed in us.

One of the great advantages

is we as the
covenant people of God,

we know that the
promise that God has given to us

is amen, and it's
true, and it's hallelujah,

whatever the
Lord promises is true.

As Christians, we are often
told not to go by feelings,

faith is not a feeling,

and that we need to
get beyond our feelings,

all of which is
true to some degree,

but at the same time,

we would not be human beings
if we didn't have feelings,

or if we did not have emotions,
or if we did not have moods,

or as in some
people's case, mood swings,

from one side to the other.

God has given us the
ability to smile, to laugh,

to shed a tear, to be
excited, to be joyful.

That's right.

And with too much
chocolate to be cynical.

And which we know
that what that's all about,

but we cannot deny our
feelings, we need to do,

Maybe it's due to personality,

Sometimes it's due to
the hardening of the heart

toward evil and

less guilt you might feel.

The thoughts of their mind
were only evil continually.

some twinges of guilt,

but maybe not as much

There's a certain
segment of the population

we don't really consider
has that feeling of guilt.

That might be the serial killer.

We might consider a lot of
them might not even feel guilt.

I read an article.

This is published in 2017.

It says, "Remorse is
rare for serial killers,

but it can happen."

And they mentioned one person

who actually was in prison
for being a serial killer.

And they actually hung
themselves in their cell.

And they left
behind a note that it said,

"I made a deal with
myself I will come back

and take responsibility

for every evil act
I committed in life.

If these people are not alive,

I should not be
allowed to live either."

Feeling a sense of
guilt. And why is that?

That leads us to section
two because they are guilty.

We feel that guilt

because we have
transgressed the law of God.

If you look at Romans 1:1-3.

Romans Chapter 1 talks
about the sins of the Gentiles

or the sins of
those who do not know God.

It's a huge list of
sins if you look at Romans 1.

In verse 32, it says,
00:17:59.84\00:18:01.64
"Those who
practice such things,"
00:18:01.68\00:18:03.85
this entire list of
sins, "are deserving of death."
00:18:03.88\00:18:07.75
Why are they deserving of death?

We know Romans 6:23 says,
"The wages of sin is death,
00:18:09.32\00:18:13.09
but the gift of
God is eternal life
00:18:13.12\00:18:15.22
through Jesus Christ our Lord."

So Romans 1 is all
about the sins of the Gentiles

or the sins of
those who do not know

walking covenant
relationship with God.

But unless you think
the Christians are left out,

or the Jewish
people are left out,

we get to Romans 2

and Paul enumerates the
sins of the Jewish people.

And especially

"Therefore you are
inexcusable, O man,

whoever you are who judge,

And jump down to

he says, "The name
of God is blasphemed

claim the name of Christ,
