You see, God has always
desired a connection with us.

just dwelling with them,

with the Old Covenant

I will be their God and
they shall be My people.

Now I love that word
temple in the Greek, its naos,

and it indicates a
sacred dwelling place.

The classical Greek it
referred to as sanctuary

or an inner
sanctuary of a temple

where a pagan god would dwell.

So God uses the same word.

God wants to set
up residence in us

of the Holy Spirit.

I love that analogy.

three keys to the indwelling

of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Key number one is
to choose your master.

Let's look at Romans.

Romans 6:16," Do
you not know that

to whom you present
yourselves slaves to obey,

you are that one's
slaves whom you obey,

whether of sin leading to death,
00:10:35.56\00:10:37.00
or of obedience
leading to righteousness?"

That just means
every morning we say,

who do we want to serve?

Who do we want to obey?

Will it be leading to sin?

Or is it going to be
leading to righteousness?

It depends on who dwells in us.

It depends on who sets
up residence within us.

So look at this, if
we look at Romans 7:17,

Sin is taken up residence,

and it's not even
me doing the works.

It's because sin dwells in me.

And that is because I
chose sin as my master,

I chose Satan as my master.

Or maybe I didn't choose God.

So by default, it
switched to Satan's way.

But if you contrast

but Christ who lives in me."

when sin dwells in us,

because Christ lives in me.

So the difference
is, make a choice.

The second key to the indwelling

but then we can choose.

And then we can go our own
way, and we can push them out.

because they're
going to offer this as
