and notice what the
Bible says here about Noah.

It says, "This is
the genealogy of Noah.

Noah was a just man,"

of course, another version

may say
righteous man, same thing.

"He was perfect
in his generations
00:15:40.17\00:15:43.00
or he was
blameless in his generations"

as another version might say,

and it says "that
Noah walked with God."

And so what Monday's lesson

is doing is it's
basically going in

Then Noah was a

I have a few verses here that I,

and I was having a hard time

which kind of
sets the foundation.

Proverbs 12:28, the Bible says,

righteousness is life

and in its pathway,

there is no death," right?

And so we, we see here that

we want to seek the
way of righteousness

and the Bible even
clearly communicates to us

through 2 Timothy Chapter 2,

we're going to kind of
go a little quickly here

2 Timothy 2:22 communicates
to us that this righteous way

in which there is no death,
we need to be pursuing it.

It's something that we
pursue, as God pursues us,

pursuing righteousness.

Again, 2 Timothy

lust, but pursue righteousness,

faith, love, peace with those

who call on the Lord
out of a pure heart."

If you are
living in righteousness,

you're pursuing
righteousness then,

kind of, as Jesus
spoke of there in the,

on the Sermon on the Mount,

and He said very clearly that

He wants us to
become pure in heart.

Blessed are those who
become pure in heart, right?

And that's exactly what happens.

We become pure in heart

when we hunger and
thirst for righteousness.

And that's what
man, what Noah was.

He was a man of righteousness.

He pursued righteousness

and therefore he
was pure in heart.

Where does this
righteousness come from though?

Let's just ask that
question and let's answer it.

righteousness come from?

The Bible makes it very
clear that our righteousness

The Bible

And obviously we know that

this righteousness
must come from God.

Philippians
1:11, the Bible says,

"Being filled with the
fruits of righteousness,

which are by Jesus Christ

to the glory and praise of God."

So where did Noah
get his righteousness

even though the scripture
says Noah was a righteous man,

was it something
that he produced?

Obviously not.

He received this
righteousness from God

because he was a just man.

He was a man pure in heart.

He sought the Lord daily.

He had a relationship,

a covenant
relationship with God.

And in this case,

obviously he received
that righteousness from God.

one of my favorite scriptures.

So what is
Christ implying there?

He's saying, look,

you must have the
true righteousness

that comes from God.

Not all of the things that
you see on a horizontal level,

but on a vertical level,

we need to have our
eyes on God as Noah,

the righteous man did.

He kept his eyes planted on God.

We also see that
the Bible says here

in the same text again,

Genesis 6:9, that Noah was,

he was
blameless, he was perfect.

Now what does that mean? Okay.

This is something
that is very much debated

within the church today

because some
people say, you know,

we got to be
perfect and others say,

oh no, there's no way
that we can be perfect.

But the Bible says
that Noah was a perfect man.

What does that mean?

As I was studying this through,

my attention was drawn back

to one of my
favorite texts, Romans 12:2,

which I believe gives us

some insight as to
what this perfection means.

There is some context clues

that we need to
pay attention to here.

Romans 12:2, Paul writes this.

He says, "And do not be
conformed to this world,

but be transformed by
the renewing of your mind
00:20:44.61\00:20:47.44
that you may
prove what is that good
00:20:47.48\00:20:49.71
and acceptable and
perfect will of God."

Noah was a perfect man

because he was not of the world.

In comparison to
the world around him,

he did not live in the world.

He was not of the world.

He lived with his attention,

his focus and his
whole being towards God.

And so in God's eyes,
of course, we're never...

Noah was not of the world,

but we know, we know that
he sought the will of the Lord.

will never, ever feel
perfect in the eyes of others.

And we shouldn't be, right?

We should never even
consider ourselves perfect.

But we know that in God's eyes,

if we are seeking
the Word of the Lord,

we're living in the
righteousness of Christ

and not the ways of the world

as we see here
clearly spelled out

clearly that we can live in

the perfect will of God.

Another one that comes to
mind here is Hebrews 10:14.

Hebrews 10:14 says,
"For by one offering,

he has perfected forever,

those who are being
continual sanctified," okay.

Noah was perfect in
the eyes of the Lord

because he was in a
saving covenant relationship

with God each and every day.

In the eyes of the
world, he wasn't perfect,

in his own eyes as it should be.

I don't wake up any day and say,

Oh, Ryan, look at you.

You're so perfect today.

You're just so,
such a perfect Christian.

No, we feel like, you
know, we feel like Paul, right?

We know we're
the chief of sinners,

we're unworthy.

I'm sure that's how Noah
felt, but in the eyes of God,

because he was walking
in covenant relationship,

he was a righteous
man, pure in heart.

God saw him as a perfect
man walking in his perfect will.

The Bible says,
"Noah walked with God."

Now whether you believe that
is literal or not, you know,

it's possible, even though

it's not in the
text that, you know,

there could have been
some type of Christophany

where Christ appeared to him,

maybe in man flesh like
form, Bible doesn't say that.

But it does say that
he walked with the Lord.

because some people say,

well, that's literal.

You know, Enoch walked with God

and as God walked
with Adam in the garden.

And so he did with Noah.

And whether you want
to believe that or not,

that's not the point.

I think the greater point here,

that each and every one of us

can still walk with God
as Noah walked with the Lord.

but to do justly, to love mercy

and to walk

walked physically with Jesus?

"But we all with unveiled

Again, it's
just, it's a process.

It involves a process.

It's a daily walk.

"Therefore we do not

sanctifying spiritual walk

or a marriage covenant.

But then there is the covenant
that is a will or a testament.

interesting in the Greek,

that's between two
people of equal power.

Let's say it

because it is a, again,
a glorious manifestation,

a visible manifestation
that there is a creator God.

scientists have come up with

how these rainbows are formed,

an emblem of their

destroy all flesh."

This is God's promise.
