See, this covenant, God
makes all of the promises,

covenant with God,

which is our obedience.

The tongue of an
instructed disciple

He's going to tell us

how He received,

He reveals the source of this.

Messiah is entirely different.

obeyed with perfect obedience.

because that perfect obedience

humbly to those who abused Him

and He knew that
God would vindicate Him.

So He suffered,

they lashed Him,

Jesus fulfilled
this prophecy perfectly.

We find the story

And He was the gentle Lamb
that was led to the slaughter.

the Lord God will help Me,

not be disgraced."

He was never ashamed to die

plan of salvation by grace.

Christ was unswayed by
any hardship, any threats,

was awaiting Him in Jerusalem.

determined to go to Jerusalem.

As a matter of

didn't look like Him.

exaltation that has been talked

that the servant
doesn't impose upon Himself,

but that the one who
is appointing the servant,

grants to the servant.

Why am I saying that,
is because a lot of times,

we could try to
qualify ourselves

by making
ourselves look qualified.

But the qualification comes
not in external appearances,

but in internal fitness.

So it's vitally
important because Isaiah 52:13,

all of a sudden
transitions into the picture

that really
tells a broader story

about the servant that
Isaiah is referring to.

And the servant he
is talking to is Christ.

into Jerusalem, He

a humble instrument.

His coming into the
world was not something

that was proclaimed
from the highest mountain,

but over the braying of a donkey

So we see the humility
of Christ was, in fact,

the thing that caused
Him to be more qualified

as a servant

than one that
might just look the part.

The New Testament
describes the factors

that marred
Christ in His appearance,

including scourging
of the crown of thorns,

the crucifixion, but above all,
00:29:33.13\00:29:35.14
bearing the sins
of the human race.

And sin was never intended
to be natural for humans,

but bearing it
made the Son of Man

as it were to
appear to be inhumane.

Now just follow
that very carefully.

It was never
intended by God for sin

to become a natural
tendency to humanity.

not just for what the Jews did,

what the Romans did,

because we can easily
direct our anger toward them

and say, "Why
would they do that?"

But He was wounded
for our transgression.

He was bruised for our iniquity,

the chastisement of our peace,

meaning the cost of

stately head elder,

tall, Caucasian gentleman,

he was just
symmetrically perfect.

And he was in the medical field.

And he always
looked the medical part.

Well, we were
cleaning the church on Sunday.
