man lost his life."

needs more than anything else.

But I know the entire world

has gone through a COVID crisis.

But the world has gone mad.

There's something that
has happened to our world

more than just the disease.

Somehow, logic has
been thrown out the window.

And in the face of
this present society,

people need to
know who Jesus is.

He has not
changed with the times.

And I like the fact that
it's almost as though Jesus

during a certain
period of history,

because the Bible did predict,
as you know, in Daniel 9,
00:06:45.20\00:06:48.24
that there was a timeframe
that Jesus was going to come.

And when you study history,
when you even read the Bible,

you can see that He came up
00:06:54.64\00:06:55.98
in one of the
darkest moments of history.

And the devil
wanted to stay that way.

He tried to kill Him
as Revelation 12 says,

he tried to kill the
Savior as soon as He was born,

because he was
determined to keep the world

in the darkness that it's in.

So let me make a point

before I go into
the lesson today.

The world that we see
today, this is Satan's world.

But in the
splintering of this world,

God has still maintained
a semblance of His presence.

You know, when my
wife and I wake up

on Sunday morning,

after we've gone
through a very busy weekend.

Sabbath is a very
busy day for us, too.

And we open our
backyard door and sit down,

and all we hear

are the birds eating their food,

you have this experience.

The squirrels running
after the birds' food.

We see the squirrels
running from our roof

jumping on the birds' food,

or sometimes they
just run up to our window

and stand they like to
say, you fed them but come on,

could you help us out.

And I said, listen to that

just the trees
moving slowly, the water,

and we hear the
sounds of God's saying,

"This world may be messed up.

But I've still preserved myself
a witness in the society."

People need to
see the face of Jesus.

You know, when you
think about the soldier,

you think about all of us.

Let's look at
the mission of Jesus,

the most beautiful picture

that Jesus came
to give which is,

in fact, a representation,

a revelation of the Father,

is found in Isaiah 61:1-3.

after all that bad
news, we need a high note.

The Bible talks about
the high note of Jesus

And then Jesus shows up

But these brothers,

they acted in faith.

Secondly, notice,

Jesus hasn't even
worked a miracle yet.

They're going based on the

pupils of the master,

but that isn't the case.

some lessons from as well.

Herod and the wise men.

there's a drastic difference

in how they receive

this message of the coming King.

So notice, beginning in verse 5,

Verse 1, it says,
"Now after Jesus was born

behold, wise men

from the east came to Jerusalem,

born king of the Jews,

Notice the faith,
based on the message,

prophetic word of the Lord.

They're stepping
out in faith to say,

this is the
King of the universe.

This is the Son of God,
but they're not just coming

to behold the scene,

they're coming to
worship this little baby

because they understand.

It goes on to say in verse 3,

Two different ways
that we approach this

they're shown by vision

the king was up to no
good so they did not return.

to go into Bethlehem

and to basically take the life

of every child

Now, there's a few
lessons we can learn here

from the perspective

of Jesus Christ as
the master teacher,

and these
individuals as His first pupils.

First of all, notice
Herod, we see selfishness

to the highest degree on display

in this particular
passage from Herod.

There's no willingness to learn.

A complete rejection

of the
prophetic word of the Lord

from Herod's perspective

and no willingness to
submit to the Most High

in His divine plan.

I mean, this is a
king, who's in the Mecca,

the epicenter of
the Judean faith,

in this case,

what would turn out to
be the Christian faith,

eventually, the
prophetic word has been given

and he shows no interest,

no willingness to submit himself

to learn of this,
in contrast to that

we see these wise men,

through the wise
men we see wisdom.

Okay, obviously,
we see their faith

in trusting the
word of the Lord,

we see their good works,

and carrying out the mission
to seek and find the Savior,

their willingness to

they are willing to

"we see their

signs and wonders."

These are powerful
lessons that we can learn

because what we see here is,

today, we are no different
than any of these individuals

in the sense that we can
learn and glean from this,

that we are
living in a day and age

where we also
must live by faith.

We also must live not according

to what we see and what we hear.

But we must live by faith

day and age today

more and more people

are questioning God's Word,

prophetic Word of the Lord,

or rejecting the

And many times it leads us
to not properly give homage

the King of the universe
