meaning, you'll
notice throughout history,

civilizations that
did not once exist,

came into being.

And they began to inhabit
certain parts of the globe

and the Bible says,

"And also the boundaries
of their habitations."

Why are the Jews where they are?

And the Caribbean
people where they are?

Why the Asians

There, the
boundaries of their habitation.

But now America is a
multi-ethnic country.

And I think we can say
that about most of the world.

You know,
recently a few years ago,

we were in Jordan.

And I was amazed to see

that it's even though
it's so close to Israel,

it's quite segregated by
the number of nationalities.

It's hard to find

a Jewish
establishment in Jordan,

and vice versa,
but in Jerusalem,

you have a Jewish
side of Jerusalem,

you have a Muslim
side of Jerusalem,

and they're all inhabiting
that that city together.

It's amazing.

But we begin today by looking
at the preappointed times.

The point of the
matter is in the beginning

when God spoke, life
on earth was created.

a Babylonian
connotation connected to it.

The Bible says in Genesis 26:5,

that Abraham kept
God's commandments,

God's statutes,
and also God's laws.

You also find that
in the course of time,

the Lord established
the nation of Israel,

first through the sons of Jacob,

and then after the famine,

they began their
sojourn in the land of Egypt,

but you'll find that
the Lord had determined

before they went into Egypt,

how long they would be
there and the Bible says,

I think in Exodus 12
on the very self-same day,

the Lord deliver them
from the land of Egypt.

You find the Lord gave
them the Ten Commandments,

and to Israel He sent prophets.

He also sent judgments to
correct them and guide them.

He called His people to live
in to share in His divine law,

the plan of salvation,
but they chose not to.

Ultimately, God

some very significant things

questions that are asked.

David and Solomon never existed?

Well, we know just
in a summary point,

that if there was no David, wow,

there would be no Jesus

because He came
through the lineage of David.

Now you can see why, in
the weaknesses of David,

Satan sought to
thwart the plan of salvation,

understanding in some degree,

if I could get David to
be a disqualified servant,

then the Messiah could not come
through a disqualified servant,

but I wanna say something
here that encourages me.

In spite of the
lineage of humanity,

God brought forth His
Son into the human race.

So let's look at
1 Samuel Chapter 17,

which brings out
some of the questions

and one of those was,

how does God provide a
decisive victory over Israel?

Without David there
would be no Jerusalem.

Let's go to 2 Samuel.

So let's go to 2 Samuel 5

and we're gonna look
together at verses 6 to 10.

Okay, without David
there would be no Jerusalem,

the capital of the nation.

You'll find also
in human history,

Jerusalem had various names.

It had various names

based on the conquest of
those who had captured it,

but the endearing name
that was given was Jerusalem,

which means the city of
peace, Shalem defined clearly.

The Bible says, "And the king
of his men went to Jerusalem

against the Jebusites,

who spoke to David saying,

'You shall not come in here,

the lame will repel you,'

thinking, 'David
cannot come in here.'

Nevertheless David
took the stronghold of Zion,

that is the city of David.

Now David said on that day,

Now what's being shown by
the writer of the lesson is,

David and Solomon

played a significant
role not only in the monarchy,

but also in the
deliverance of the Messiah.

that the lesson
writers want to point out.

David had to have Solomon.

Solomon tried his best

to destroy himself
with the 1,000 women,

the Lord still
saw fit to be the seed

that came through that
line from Adam to Jesus

for 42 generations

and David and
Solomon were in that lineage.

God provided victory
through David as a young man.

God used David to propel Israel
to the victory against Goliath.

And the question lastly,

where does the
victory come from?

It was said clearly, the
battle belongs to the Lord.

However, in the
battle for our souls,

in the battle for
supremacy over humanity.

Even though the battle

and the victory
belongs to the Lord,

God uses frail men
like David and Solomon

to show that He is interested
in working through humanity.

So in the fourteenth year here,

battle that was going on,

and God was gonna
get involved with it.

a massive battle plan.

The Assyrians had a
campaign against Judah.

right before Christ.

I call it a battle royale.

It was planned.

It's what the devil
has always planned to do

is to get rid of what?

comes this big army

attack for one day.

How would our faith
stand? What would we say?

That's not what we were told.

interesting how God said,

care of this Myself

to submit to certain people,

Hezekiah also called upon
Egypt and Ethiopia for help.

And the king said, I
don't want that either.

Number three,

he had helped others

in their battle against Assyria.

So he's already said,
"You're already our enemy,

and you're going to go
down with this battle."

So forty-six of
Hezekiah we noticed this,

Hezekiah walled towns

and villages were conquered."

So it seemed like
people will be depressed.

A lot of bad things
were happening right then,

but naturally, the Bible goes on

to say by a miracle of God,

Jerusalem was spared

because God said
