I mean, there's
been some Bible prophecy

and you're gonna see

that Daniel Chapter
2 and Daniel Chapter 7,

obviously
correlate with each other.

They parallel each other
as far as some of the content

but, you know, the
bulk of what we've been

studying so far
has not really been,

you know, what we would call,

you know, clear prophetic

or apocalyptic
nature of the studies

The apocalypticness is

of his head while on his bed.

Then he wrote down the
dream, telling the main facts."

And so he's envision God
is literally rolling almost

as if he's pulling, rolling
a movie reel in his mind,

and he's taking him
from one scene to the next.

And so what
we're about to find out

and I like to see it as the Lord

is simply taking Daniel and
us through kind of a special

little seaside safari ride,

as we're about to go through
00:04:51.22\00:04:52.55
and see all of
these different animals
00:04:52.59\00:04:54.06
which, of course,
represents something.
00:04:54.09\00:04:56.19
And so I wanna
start reading the chapter

and the rest of
this, not the chapter,

but the rest of these
verses through verse 7

because the Bible tells
us beginning in verse 2,

"Daniel spoke saying, 'I
saw in my vision by night,

and behold, four winds of heaven
00:05:08.24\00:05:10.84
were stirred up the Great Sea.
00:05:10.87\00:05:13.41
And four great
beasts came up from the sea,
00:05:13.44\00:05:15.58
each different from the other.
00:05:15.61\00:05:17.35
The first was like a
lion, and had eagle's wings.
00:05:17.38\00:05:20.52
And watched till the
wings were plucked off,

and it was
lifted up from the earth

and made to stand
on two feet like a man,

residue with its feet.

from all the beasts

that were before it,
and it had ten horns."

And so I just want
to kind of go through

and pick apart and
provide some meaning

behind these great symbols

because now we're diving
into the apocalyptic nature

of this chapter in
which there's heavy symbolism,

and we need to allow the
Bible to interpret itself.

So I wanna start
there in verse 2.

First of all, we
see right off the front,

the Lord is bringing
a scene about to Daniel
00:06:29.32\00:06:31.62
where the winds are
stirred up, and of course,
00:06:31.65\00:06:34.26
winds in prophetic language
00:06:34.29\00:06:36.02
are symbolic of
strife, war, bloodshed,
00:06:36.06\00:06:39.59
and of course, destruction.
00:06:39.63\00:06:40.96
And Jeremiah confirms this
00:06:41.00\00:06:42.80
in Jeremiah 25:31-33.
00:06:42.83\00:06:47.04
And obviously,
we're not gonna be
00:06:47.07\00:06:48.40
able to go to every
single one of these verses
00:06:48.44\00:06:49.90
that I'm gonna mention,

but I wanna provide
some references of study

so that you can go back

We also see there's
a mention of the sea.

And so sea symbolizes multitudes

of unconverted peoples

who are inimical
to the people of God.

And so we see this

Also Chapter

Even Revelation 17:15,

tells us that the seas
represent multitudes of people.

And so we go down to verse 4,

obviously now these four
beasts are mentioned to us,
00:07:22.04\00:07:25.47
they're introduced to us,
00:07:25.51\00:07:26.84
and we need to ask the question,
00:07:26.88\00:07:28.31
do these four beast represent
four kings or four kingdoms?
00:07:28.34\00:07:32.01
Because a lot of
people get confused on that.
00:07:32.05\00:07:33.38
I said, "Well, it says king,
but it doesn't say kingdoms."
00:07:33.42\00:07:35.78
But the truthful
answer is, is very simple.

The four beasts
represent four kingdoms,
00:07:38.39\00:07:41.12
which were ruled over by
a succession of kings, okay?
00:07:41.16\00:07:45.23
And we know we
can find this answer

in Daniel Chapter 7,
00:07:46.83\00:07:48.16
in this very chapter,
God doesn't leave us hanging
00:07:48.20\00:07:50.27
in the 17th verse,
and also in verse 23.

And even over in Daniel
8, we see a confirmation
00:07:53.34\00:07:56.50
that these beasts
represent kingdoms
00:07:56.54\00:07:59.04
that are ruled
by powerful kings.
00:07:59.07\00:08:02.98
Then we get on to verse 4,
00:08:03.01\00:08:04.35
here comes this
first beast, this lion.
00:08:04.38\00:08:07.15
And, of course,
we know that again,

parallel to Daniel
Chapter 2 there are four metals
00:08:09.05\00:08:11.79
and how many beasts
during this chapter?
00:08:11.82\00:08:13.15
Four. There are four beasts.

And so each metal
in Daniel Chapter 2
00:08:14.62\00:08:16.52
represented a kingdom in
the succession of the rulers
00:08:16.56\00:08:20.00
of the world from
one nation to the next,

we see this exact pattern.

And this is that repeat
factor that we're talking about.

So far what my
portion of the lesson is,

is doing is repeating exactly

covered in Daniel Chapter 2.

from these kingdoms,

and so who is this lion?

Well, just as the head of gold

represented Babylon
in Daniel Chapter 2,

obviously, this lion represents
the kingdom of Babylon as well.

Babylon was the
supreme kind of nation,
00:08:53.03\00:08:55.86
they had everything supreme.
00:08:55.90\00:08:57.53
Gold is the most
precious metal in Babylon.
00:08:57.57\00:09:00.30
The lion, of course,
is the king of beast.
00:09:00.34\00:09:02.74
The eagle is
the most, excuse me,
00:09:02.77\00:09:05.47
the king of the birds, etcetera.
00:09:05.51\00:09:07.18
So we see that
everything is great

in abundance in Babylon.
00:09:08.74\00:09:10.38
And even in
archaeological excavations

have proven that lion sphinxes
00:09:13.25\00:09:15.12
were very common
in ancient Babylon,

plaster to the walls
throughout the palaces.

Jeremiah even
affirms in the Bible,
00:09:20.09\00:09:22.59
so we don't have to go
very far to see that right here

in the Bible in Jeremiah 4:7,

and also Jeremiah 50:17,

we see that Jeremiah

actually links
Babylon to being a lion.

And, of course,

the wings represent
swiftness and conquest.

Babylon was quick,

but we're gonna
see another kingdom

comes along that's even quicker
than Babylon in conquering
00:09:41.88\00:09:44.51
the known world at the time.

A lion with a man's
heart, of course, is cowardly.
00:09:46.05\00:09:48.85
No, no lion wants a man's heart,
00:09:48.88\00:09:50.32
a lion wants a
lion's heart, right?
00:09:50.35\00:09:51.92
Kind of like
Richard the Lionhearted,
00:09:51.95\00:09:53.39
he was a brave, brave man,
00:09:53.42\00:09:55.59
and so we see that Babylon's
cowardness is clearly displayed

by King Belshazzar
who was the last king
00:10:00.26\00:10:02.40
before they fall, of course,
00:10:02.43\00:10:03.87
when the kingdom fell to
the Medes and the Persians.

So clearly this first
beast is no doubt Babylon.

Then we go on to
verse 5, or from this point,

you're just
simply applying history.

But, you know,

even if you didn't
even have a history book,

very far to know that.

We know this bear symbolizes

the kingdom of the
Medes and the Persians,

just as the bear was
raised up higher on one side.

Medes and the Persians,

which was an alliance

between the kingdom of

but Persia was the
stronger of the two nations,

ram with two horns,

we're told is Media and Persia.

So there's no doubt who this is.

mouth of the bear, of course,

the Bible doesn't explicitly

nations in which Medo-Persia

to become the
superpower of the world,

which would be Lydia,

and, of course,
Babylon and Egypt.

Verse 6, we're
trucking along here,

we come to this leopard.

Now, was a
leopard faster than a lion

was the nation of Greece

that came after the
Medes and the Persians

with the leadership
of Alexander the Great.

He conquered the
whole near east from Egypt,

all the way to the
Indus Valley of India

in just three years.

I mean, that's just impeccable.

It's amazing.

Nebuchadnezzar, do you get this,

Nebuchadnezzar took 13 years

to just reach a stalemate
with the kingdom of Tyre,

but Alexander conquered
it in just eight months.

So just this communicates
the power of this indeed.

And, of course, the
four heads on this leopard

would represent
the four generals,

in which the kingdom of Greece

was passed on to as the kingdom
was divided into four parts.

But then we get down
here to this last kingdom,

the fourth
kingdom, verse 7, of course,

we know historically
would be the kingdom of Rome,

no doubt, much as that the toes

that we had 10 toes

representing the 10
divisions of Rome in 476 AD.

divided that is indeed,

In verse 20, "And
about the 10 horns

namely, that horn which

So it shows you clearly
that this power that rose,

was more prominent,

it was more resilient,

powerful because it's rising,

it's becoming more stout.

All the other nations
represented political powers,

but this one was different.

The Bible says
what made it different.

When Rome came into existence,

a merging of the
pagan with the papal,
00:18:02.24\00:18:06.31
a pagan nation
with papal qualities
00:18:06.35\00:18:10.49
or a papal nation
with pagan qualities,
00:18:10.52\00:18:12.95
whichever way you choose,
00:18:12.99\00:18:14.56
it was a nation that
did not become converted.

It was not a power
that abandoned paganism,
00:18:17.66\00:18:20.33
but a power that gave a
religious tinge to paganism.

And so you find today
that many of the things

that exists in Christendom,

they exist because
paganism gifted them

to the papal
church or to Christianity

through the papal church.

Let's go ahead and find out
a little bit more about this.

digress a little bit

because it says, describing,

"I was watching,"
verse 21, "and the same horn

was making war
against the saints,

and prevailing against them,
until the Ancient of Days came,

and judgment was made in favor
of the saints of the Most High,

and the time came for the saints

to possess the kingdom."

Now this is important
because this fourth beast,

or this fourth beast,

with the horn coming
up out of the 10 nations

represents the kingdom of Rome.

But the Bible goes on to
say, this nation will war

against the
saints of the Most High,
00:19:17.05\00:19:18.82
and for 1,260
years Rome ruthlessly
00:19:18.85\00:19:23.99
tried to stamp out Christianity
00:19:24.03\00:19:26.53
because it did not
resemble the pattern
00:19:26.56\00:19:28.73
that Rome decided to establish.
00:19:28.76\00:19:30.93
So you had Rome
00:19:30.97\00:19:32.80
and then it added a
religious component to it,
00:19:32.83\00:19:35.34
which later we
know as Catholicism,
00:19:35.37\00:19:36.94
the word
Catholic mean universal.

So this was a universal
church, but its beliefs,

when you think
about some of the ways
00:19:43.24\00:19:45.05
that these beliefs
came into existence.

The emperor's didn't,
00:19:47.22\00:19:48.55
didn't choose the
Bible above tradition.
00:19:48.58\00:19:51.05
They chose
tradition above the Bible.
00:19:51.09\00:19:54.06
They didn't choose
to abandon paganism.
00:19:54.09\00:19:56.42
They chose to baptize paganism.
00:19:56.46\00:19:58.69
And the battle really
00:19:58.73\00:20:00.06
was against the
rise of Christianity,

as compared to
the rise of paganism,

which in fact, if you go
back to from the very beginning,

this is Satan opposing God.

Of course.

So he chose his
earthly power to oppose God.

And that's why
Paul the Apostle says,

who opposes and exalts himself

above all that is called
God or all that is worshiped.

Really issue is,
once again worship.

Let's go down to verse 23.

And I wish I had a

because, you know,
I'm just resonating here.

I feel like a race
car in a phone booth.

"Thus he said," in verse 23,

"The fourth beast
shall be a fourth kingdom,"

there you go, the connection
between king and kingdom,

"on the earth,

which shall be different
from all other kingdoms,
00:20:41.47\00:20:43.61
and shall
devour the whole earth,

trample it and
break it in pieces."

This was a prognostication

of the future
dominance of this kingdom

because until
this particular point,

Rome had reigned supreme.

As we said, "All
roads lead to Rome."

But it did not yet take
on a worldwide dominance.

And when we go on

we'll find that
Rome is going to,

it assumes itself all the way

to the very end
of human history.

Here's how we know the
vision that Daniel was given

and the vision that
Nebuchadnezzar was given.

In both cases, you
find the iron kingdom

was also prevalent in
the toes of the image.
00:21:18.91\00:21:21.64
We'll talk about that later on.

But you have the
beast with iron teeth,

that tramples and
breaks all the residue,

and it devours the whole earth.

That is where we are in
the pages of history today.

You might ask
yourself the question,

how does the Roman
pontiff have such influence?

Well, Revelation says that
the dragon gave him his power,

his seat, and
his great authority.

You might ask your question,

how does he get the platform

of the speaking to
Congress in the United States?

Because the United States
is the one nation in the world

that still offers its
citizens religious liberty.
00:21:53.84\00:21:57.95
That's right.
00:21:57.98\00:21:59.31
Now the pope believes in liberty

because in the liberty
that we have in America,

it gives him the
platform to advance his cause.

But there has been since 1994,

a merging between
evangelicals and Catholics

to try to make up the largest
political and voting block

in our nation

to control the
political outcome of our nation.

So when you begin to
see what Daniel says here,

keep this in mind when
the merger is complete.

And as Revelation says
in Revelation Chapter 13,

the second part,

Rome will now merge

with the political
powers of our nation,

and our nation
will establish an image

Revelation Chapter 13.

That's where we're
headed as a nation.

So this is
about to be fulfilled.

I mean, there's
gonna be explosion,

politically and religiously
that we have not seen

ever since the Dark Ages.

And the very persecuting powers
that dominated the Dark Ages,

once again will
come to the forefront

as he caused the earth

and those who dwell
there and to do two things,

worship and secondly,

if you choose not
to, you'll be killed.

But you know what, like Daniel,

I rather go to the den
with Christ than compromise

against Christ outside the den.

I rather be in the fire with Him

as the three Hebrews

and be delivered
than avoid the flames

and lose my salvation.

Those who stand with
Christ, He stands with them.

And as ruthless as
this nation is pictured,

the Bible says the time came
for the saints of the Most High

to possess the kingdom.
