announced the kingdom of God

we can be a part of today.

sheep of the house of Israel.

'The kingdom of
heaven is at hand.'

Heal the sick,
cleanse the lepers,

And then, of course, He says,

And so I think
we all can live up

to that standard we
have received freely

and so now we are to
follow that commission

and going and
extending that loving message

that Christ has given to us.

However, we have to also know
that Christ spoke of a kingdom

that was not
necessarily an ordinary kingdom.

And we're told here
in John 18:36, it says,

"Jesus answered and said,
00:05:53.21\00:05:54.55
'My kingdom is
not of this world.
00:05:54.58\00:05:56.45
If My kingdom
were of this world,

My servants would fight,

so that I should not
be delivered to the Jews,
00:06:00.26\00:06:03.06
but now My kingdom
is not from here.'"

So we know that the
kingdom that Christ spoke of

is His kingdom,
a heavenly kingdom,

a kingdom that He
wanted to establish

and it was His original
plan to establish here on earth

that we may live through that.

But, of course, we know

sin brought about
a different kingdom,

a different reality,
00:06:18.51\00:06:20.04
but Christ wants to restore that

which He had set
in the beginning,

by His incarnation,

ministry, death,
and resurrection,

the kingdom of
God was inaugurated.

But Jesus also
look forward to the time

when His kingdom
would fully replace

the kingdoms of this world.

And in God's reign, of course,

would be made
complete through that.

And, you know, not only Jesus,

for the day to see Jesus return

the seventh day of the week,

but we honor the

return of Christ,

out for more than 400 years,

Lord, where are You God?

If we're Your people,
why haven't You showed up?

Zechariah 1:12,

gives us an example
of the angel of the Lord

crying on behalf of those
00:08:24.17\00:08:25.57
who were exiled in
Babylon for 70 years.

It says in verse 12,

"Then the angel of the
Lord answered and said,

'O Lord of hosts,
00:08:30.97\00:08:32.44
how long will You not
have mercy on Jerusalem

and on the cities of Judah,

against which You were
angry these seventy years?'"

And, of course, I often
think of the Psalms as well

because the Psalms are
also full of cries and concerns

about the apparent prosperity

and good fortunes of the wicked,

while the righteous are abused,
exploited, of course, and poor.

Psalm 94:3-7 is a
great example of this.

Notice what verses
3 and onward tell us,

"Lord, how long," there it is.
00:09:00.87\00:09:02.50
"How long will the wicked,
00:09:02.54\00:09:04.57
how long will
the wicked triumph?

They utter speech,
and speak insolent things,

all the workers of
iniquity boast in themselves.

They break in
pieces Your people,
00:09:14.62\00:09:16.55
O Lord, and
afflict Your heritage.

They slay the
widow and the stranger,

and murder the fatherless.

Yet they say,

And we know that in
moments like this of harshness,

experiencing times of adversity

Oftentimes, it's
hard to look through

and see the
ultimate plan of God,

but God does indeed have a plan.

You see, while we must trust

that God does
indeed have a plan.

There is a sense of impatience
on behalf of the righteous

who await an answer from God

that is
sometimes met with silence.

I have experience
the silence of God,

I'm sure every one of us
on this panel in our life

and those at home had
experience that silence.

And while we may not
have a sufficient cause,

to doubt God's goodness,

we seem to
always find harsh times

to inevitably doubt God's plan.

Habakkuk 1:2 expresses this.

cry, and You will not hear?

Even cry out to You, 'Violence!'

So often we find ourselves,

Lord, saying,
Lord, where are You?

Yes.

Especially now, you
know, we want God to show up

I would like to just highlight
a few portions of this.

This is the parable
of the persistent widow.

And it speaks of how,

who did not fear
God nor regard man."

It says in verse 2.

widow in the city

'Get justice for me
and from my adversary.'"

And he goes on

"And he would not for a while,

This was a persistent woman.

how we should be persistent
