Together they formed an unholy
trinity that opposed God's

work in the world.

They work deceptively and openly

to overthrow God and His law.

They use coercion,
force and persecution to

force people to
give allegiance to them.

Revelation 14, if you
just turn the page one chapter

Revelation 14:1-5 tells us
the story of a sealed people

who have the Father's name
written in their foreheads,

who have overcome
this world and the beast,

and dragon and
the false prophet.

The issue all throughout
history is really about

worship - who will we
worship, Christ or Satan,

the lamb or the beast?

That question and that answer
will determine our destiny.

Messages" is "present
truth" for these days.

But what is "present truth?"

2 Peter 1:12... "For
this reason, I will not be

negligent to remind
you always of these things,

though you know
and are established

in the present truth."

Now that tells us that present
truth is not just for end times

because Peter lived
in the first century A.D.

So that means God
always has present truth

throughout history.

It's a specific message for
a specific time and place...

fell from heaven proving

then the promised rain came.

kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Prepare a people to meet your
God and what was the promise?

as the Messiah and Redeemer.

Now on Sunday's lesson, we
just look at the first little

Angels' Message, but really it's

angel flying in the
midst of heaven having the

everlasting gospel to preach
to those who dwell on the earth

to every nation, tribe,
tongue and people," and we'll

stop there because

So as we look at this one verse,
I want to look at the messenger,

that's who is
doing the preaching?

Then we'll look at the
message, what are we to preach?

And then finally, the mission.

Who are we to preach to?

Who are we to
give this message to?

So the messenger - who
is doing the preaching?

In this case, it
says, "I saw another angel."

Now I know in the Greek, that
means, literally, messenger.

Messenger!

Sometimes that Greek word
is used to refer to angels

in the New Testament
and we know that clearly;

but other times, it's
used to refer to people.

I think of Matthew 11:10;
Jesus used that word to refer to

John the Baptist - he was
a messenger with, you can say

and end time
message for that time,

specific message for that time.

So who does the
preaching? Who is the messenger?

God calls you and I
to proclaim this gospel;

these Three Angels'
Messages, we are the messengers;

we are called to give
this message and that takes us

"What are we to preach?"

What does it
say? We just read it.

The angel flies in
the midst of heaven,

you and I proclaim the
message. What is the message?

"Having the everlasting GOSPEL!"

"Everlasting" in Greek
means "age-long, eternal,

without beginning."

So this gospel message
that God delivered to us to

preach - He had in
mind from eternity past.

You think about the plan
of redemption was put in place

before there was ever
any creation on this earth

because God the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit set

together and
formulated that plan.

The word for "gospel,"
of course, is "good news,"

and it occurs many
times in the Greek.

Matthew 24:14... "This gospel
of the kingdom (there's our

word) shall be preached
in all the world as a witness

to all nations and
then the end shall come."

You know, there's a universal
problem today and that's the

problem of sin.

I think about Romans 1,
Paul delineates, as it were,

the sins of the Gentile world.
00:09:16.72\00:09:18.89
Then we move to Romans 2
and Romans 3, and then he says,

Okay, the Jews are
not without fault either.

It's not just the
Gentiles, not just people who
00:09:27.23\00:09:30.40
maybe haven't claimed the
name of Christ; Christians too

are dealing
with the sin problem.

By the time we get to
Romans 3:23, it's universal.

He says, "All
have sinned and fallen

short of the glory of God."

Now we know, clearly, Paul
knew it was universal from the

beginning, but he's establishing
or setting a stage of
00:09:46.48\00:09:49.38
progression showing that the sin
problem applies to everybody.

Galatians 3:22... "The
Scripture has "confined"

(it means to shut together
or shut in, so the Scripture

has shut in all under sin - we
are all under the condemnation

and the curse of the law), why?

by faith in Christ Jesus

We have a universal sin
problem, but we have a Savior

who came to save
to the uttermost.

are kind of... No, God loved

the world that He
gave His only begotten Son,

that whosoever believeth
in Him should not perish,

but have everlasting love..life!
Everlasting life and everlasting

life and that really
goes to love too because if we

love Him, we
keep His commandments.

of my favorite Scriptures...

Me, (Jesus is speaking)

Matthew 10:8, He says, "Freely
you have received, freely give."

Since we've been saved
by grace through faith,

we are called to freely
extend the message of salvation,

the gospel of grace
to everyone, everywhere!

Nobody is to be
excluded in the gospel call.

So, you and I are
called to give the message;

the message is
this everlasting gospel,

and who does it go to?

It goes to every nation,
tribe, tongue and people.

There are four groups
here and we'll look at them.

But first, I want to
look at the word "every."

In Greek it's "pas"
which means each and every one.

So it's the same Greek
word used in 2 Timothy 3:16,

where Paul says,
"All Scripture is given by

inspiration of God," and instead
of saying "all Scripture"

as a general sense -
all Scripture is inspired,

which is beautiful... it
means each and every Scripture
00:11:49.77\00:11:54.01
is inspired by God.
00:11:54.04\00:11:56.18
So in this case, it's
not saying, "Okay the gospel

is to go to the whole
world, as in a general state,

it's supposed to go to
each and every person - to me
00:12:01.45\00:12:05.59
it's personal and it's specific.
00:12:05.62\00:12:08.06
Now what about the
four groups of people?

It says, "nation,
tribe, tongue and people,"
00:12:10.96\00:12:13.33
"nation" in the
Greek is "ethnos."
00:12:13.40\00:12:15.60
That would be where we
get our word "ethnic" from.

It means race or nation,
but in the New Testament,
00:12:18.53\00:12:22.50
it's especially used in
the sense of the heathen
00:12:22.54\00:12:25.64
or the Gentiles.
00:12:25.67\00:12:27.18
Sometimes it's referred to
the Jews, but almost always
00:12:27.24\00:12:30.41
it's referred to as a Gentile.
00:12:30.45\00:12:33.15
Now there's a point -
I'm going somewhere here...

The next group, "tribe"
refers to the descendants of

a common ancestor and in
the Bible, it's almost always

used to refer to the
descendants of Abraham.

So in other words,
this gospel message
00:12:47.03\00:12:49.23
is to go to the Gentiles,
those who don't know Jesus.

It's also to go to the
Jews; it's also to go to the,

we could say
today, the Christians.

So this gospel
message is for everyone.

What about the last two groups?

Every tongue - "glossa,"
that's language or nation.

That's differentiation
between people groups

based on their language.

So it's to go to every
language, group and finally,

people - that just
means in general, a people,

a crowd, a
populous, a group of people.

So this gospel message,
God calls you and I to proclaim

to everyone - nobody is to
be excluded in that gospel call.

the "First Angel's Message."

So, "First Angel's Message,"
Part 1, is Monday's lesson

sea and the springs of water."

So, for me, there's like
four sermons in this one verse.

In fact, in my evangelistic

single, little part of this
one verse - that's how powerful

Before I go into the
different aspects of part A of

this verse, because I'm
only going to talk about giving

glory to God, fearing God for
the obvious judgment is come.

That's what I'm going
to cover at this moment.

But I just want to say something
very simple but profound...

and I think it's something
that we have to consider

in relation to "The Three
Angels' Messages" as a whole.

And that is... there's
obviously three and they come

in a specific order.

You can't get them out of order.

There's a reason why we call
it the "First Angel's Message,"

followed by the
"Second Angel's Message,"

followed by the
"Third Angel's Message."

But I want to say
this, because this is vitally

important - if we
could just grasp this...

There would be no need
for a Second and Third Angel's

Message if the entire
world would respond positively

to the "First Angel's Message."

Truthfully, there
would really be no need for

a Second and Third
Angel's Message, now inevitably

there is a Second and
Third Angel's Message because

there's an enemy and we know
that, as we're told in Bible

prophecy, the majority of
the world in the last days

will follow and worship
after the beast that we are

warned not to follow - we
are warned not to worship.

But if the entire world,
and we know that this message,

as you clearly covered, is
going to the entire planet,

if all - every single
soul was to respond positively

to this "First Angel's
Message," there would be no need

for a Second or
Third Angel's Message.

So I just want to establish
that because if we can grasp

the contents and the meaning
of the "First Angel's Message,"

the Second and Third Angel's
Message are going to just

kind of flow very
gently into our understanding

of what it means to
fully surrender to God,

we're going to respond
more positively to the Second

and Third Angel's
Message because of our proper

understanding of the
"First Angel's Message."

So I want to start

in the presence of God as he

And Moses doesn't walk
in kind of arrogantly and

disrespectful,

that response and he doesn't

come in necessarily in the
sense that he wants to leave,

but he approaches and he is
told, "Take off your sandals

stand is holy ground."

response to the goodness of God.
