So there's no
greater need, than unity

that, as believers, we
should yearn for unity.

understand God's plan of unity,

When God created everything,

what was the root of disunity?

So the Bible starts with
everything being perfect,

and when the devil twisted
God's words and tempted Eve

deceiving her, that
is when disunity came in.

plan from the very beginning.

"The Lamb who was slain

beginning of the world."

And faithful Abraham who
was the father of God's people

became one of the central
figures in that salvation plan

because it says that
Abraham believed God and it was

accounted to him
as righteousness.

So righteousness by
faith unites us - does it not?

There's nothing that we have
that is righteous on our own.

Let's look at Sunday...
"Love as a Foundation of Unity"

So at the end of the creation
story, what does God say?

He looks and He says, "This
is good, this is very good."

It was a beautiful
creation, perfect harmony,

this, what do you think it means

He said, "Let us make man

in Our image,
according to Our likeness."

In the Hebrew, those words are

synonyms - the
image and the likeness.

What do you think that means?

What is the "likeness," is there
a physical likeness to God?

Jesus said in John
4:24... "God is a Spirit,

So it isn't a physical likeness,

is that it's not a reference
to His physical appearance,

to have emotional capacity;

character of love and patience

kindness and faithfulness.

He created us with intellectual
abilities just as He has

things and be creative.

something of God's image,

teaches that someday we will

think is the most important,
the essence of God's nature

most important for us.

essence of God's nature?

LOVE - God is love.

In 1 John 4:7-8, John writes...

"Beloved, let us love one
another for love is of God,

born of God and knows God.

He who does not
love, does not know God."

So if you meet someone who
is unloving in their spirit

and their characteristics,
do they know God?

Obviously not by the Scripture.

of God is the love that is

so that (for the purpose
of) that He may establish

that is how we are created

is recreating us as we grow
