for the change would say,

gone back in history

And, of course, it
completely destroyed the unity

that was once
enjoyed by this design.

And this is the same
thing that Paul was facing

during the time of
the Book of Galatians.

And there was a large
group of people that were saying

that in order for
the gentiles to be a part
00:05:10.14\00:05:14.01
of the Christian
faith of believers,
00:05:14.04\00:05:16.85
they must be circumcised.
00:05:16.88\00:05:19.98
And as a matter of
fact they had to be...
00:05:20.02\00:05:23.35
In order, to be
saved, they said,
00:05:23.39\00:05:25.35
you have to be circumcised.
00:05:25.39\00:05:27.32
Interestingly enough,
there are some criteria
00:05:27.39\00:05:30.06
that people have
placed in these days
00:05:30.09\00:05:32.63
for being saved
that are not biblical.

And, of course, we'll
have to deal with these things

in the future,
but we are looking now

at what happened
during the time of Paul.

And for this reason,

Paul wrote the Book of Galatians

to answer these
different beliefs.

Paul saw this as an attack

on the essence of
the gospel itself,

and this is why he,

with the blessing
of the Holy Spirit

wrote the Book of Galatians.

And interestingly enough

as you look at
the Book of Galatians,

you will find that
there are some things

that at first glance

may be difficult
to be understood.

So this is when you
go to the Lord in prayer

and you say, "Lord,
bless me with Your Holy Spirit

that I may understand."

Because if God used the
Holy Spirit to impress Paul

what to write, then we
must ask the Lord to bless us

with the Holy Spirit
that we may understand

what the message
was that God intended

for the Galatians believer.

Now this, we see
the Book of Galatians,

we have to understand that this
is not just for the Galatians,

this is a book for us today

because some of
the same principles

are there of
people pulling to one side

is also alive today.

So by looking at
the principles found

we may learn something
about how to handle difficulties

even in today's Christian time.

longsuffering or patience

of the Lord is our salvation.

interested in our salvation,

so here in the Book of Galatians

we find a message
of salvation for us.

And now Peter states that Saul,

Paul was given wisdom,
wisdom from above to write.

However, it says
there are certain people

were taking the things
of Paul and twisting them

and bringing a
different understanding

other than that
which was intended.

So it says that they do
this to their destruction.

If they did this in those
days, the people that twist

the scriptures
today are doing it

to their own destruction.

there is always a nice greeting.

And he says who he is, he
says he's a servant of Christ.

And when you look
at the letters of Paul,

people thought it was a
unique style of writing,

but discoveries have been
made and that really identify

that Paul's letter was
very common in those days.

And so I like to
discuss these things with you

aspects of his letters

that there was a battle going on

wanted them to be circumcised

and those that wanted them
to continue following the faith

that was delivered to the Jews.
