an Old Testament relic

in the sanctuary... "

In other words, if we want
to understand the relevance

our day-to-day lives,

wants to live in God's house.

live in God's house... "

not just for a month...

not just for a year,

he said, "I want
to live in God's house

that God's house is a sanctuary.

It's His home,

it's the dwelling place of God

Center of the universe

and David said, "Look,
if I could have one request,

Now, there are a lot of
homes that I could think of

that I don't want to live in

and it has to do
with one or two reasons,

either the structure is
very poor and uncomfortable

or the person within the place

makes it a place that I
would never want to spend

even a night in,

now, when you look
at David's request here,

you can see that David
wants to live in God's house

because of the
person in God's house,

he says, "Look, I
want to live there

all the days of my life. "

Now, what does
David want to do there?

We can see what he
says in Psalm 27 verse 4,

in the rest of
this verse, he says,

and the first
thing that he wants to do

is behold the beauty of God.

God is beautiful...

we're not just
talking about an inner beauty

but I believe that God
is externally beautiful

on the outside

and this emanates
from a character beauty

and David says, "Look, I
want to live in your house,

You're a beautiful God...

beautiful on the inside

and on the outside. "

God has a beautiful
aesthetic quality to Him

and he says, "The other
thing that I want to do,

is to inquire in His temple.

Now, when you look at
the original language,

the word "inquire" is talking
about an intellectual inquiry

after truth.

So, God's house is not only
a place of aesthetic beauty,

it's also a place of
beauty of truth as well,

not only an aesthetic beauty,

but also an intellectual
assent of knowledge and truth.

God's house is a
place of inquiry and truth,

he says, "I want
to talk with God. "

Now, I read an
article not too long ago

about individuals that
would spend tens of thousands

and hundreds of
thousands of dollars

to have lunch
with Warren Buffet,
00:05:20.58\00:05:22.75
one of the richest
men in all the world
00:05:22.78\00:05:24.99
and these individuals...
one of them I read about
00:05:25.05\00:05:28.69
spent $600,000 to
have lunch for an hour
00:05:28.72\00:05:33.70
with Warren Buffet
00:05:33.73\00:05:35.30
and they were
asked afterwards...

these individuals that
had won this bidding lottery

to have lunch
with Warren Buffet...

they were asked,
"Was it worth it?"

And all of them
said, "Absolutely, yes!"

Now, evidently, having
lunch with a billionaire

is... is worth a lot of money

but can you imagine
having lunch with God

every single day in His house?

What would that
conversation be like?

What would be the interaction?

knowledge gained from an inquiry

to understand the mind of God?

So, David says, I
want to dwell in your house

behold the beauty of God

inquire in His temple,

reveal in His truth.

Now, the question is, what
does God's house look like?

And in Revelation
chapter 11 verse 19,

we have a picture of
what God's house looks like,

God's temple...

it says in
Revelation chapter 11 verse 19,

"And then the temple of
God was opened in heaven... "

this is God's house...
the dwelling place of God...

"and the ark of His covenant
was seen in His temple. "

Here John in vision
sees the house of God...

the temple of God

and the doors of
the temple are opened

and inside he sees a
particular article of furniture

known as the
ark of the covenant.

We have another idea of
what is also in God's house...

the same book,
Revelation chapter 4 verse 5,

And from the throne proceeded
lightnings, thunderings,

and voices: and
seven lamps of fire

were burning
before the throne. "

So not only in God's
house is the Ark of the Covenant

but also in God's
house is a light source,

there are seven lamps
of fire that are burning

before the throne

and another verse in Revelation
indicates what else is seen,

the lampstands that are
found there... the menorah...

verse 3, the Bible tells us,

upon the golden altar which
was also before the throne. "

You see, an altar of
incense that is also located

in the house of God as well

the Book of Revelation,

there's an Ark of the Covenant,

that is also found there as well

25 verse 8, the Bible says,

"Make this tabernacle
and all its furnishings

exactly like the
pattern that I will show you. "

Moses went up to Mount Sinai

and when he went
up to Mount Sinai,

he came down with two things
after the conversation with God.

The first thing
that he came down with

was the Ten Commandments.

The other thing
that Moses came down with

was a blueprint of the sanctuary

known as the Mosaic
Sanctuary or Moses' Tabernacle

Moses about the Tabernacle,

He said, "This tabernacle
and all its furnishings

exactly like the
pattern I will show you. "

sanctuary preexisted

now, if you make
something after the pattern

it indicates that there is
an original that also exists
