Dear Father in heaven, we thank you that we have this wonderful 00:05:18.68\00:05:21.15 opportunity on such a beautiful Sabbath that you have given us 00:05:21.18\00:05:23.89 to gather together, to open up your Word, study a very 00:05:23.92\00:05:26.59 important passage, a passage that was written long 00:05:26.62\00:05:30.16 before the coming of Jesus and yet gives us the very time 00:05:30.19\00:05:33.76 of the beginning of his ministry. 00:05:33.80\00:05:35.43 Thank you, Lord, for this very important, fascinating chapter 00:05:35.46\00:05:39.07 in the Bible, Daniel 9. 00:05:39.10\00:05:41.10 Bless us, Lord. 00:05:41.14\00:05:42.44 Give us understanding and impress upon us those things 00:05:42.47\00:05:44.81 you want us to know. 00:05:44.84\00:05:46.17 For we ask this in Jesus's name, amen. 00:05:46.21\00:05:49.54 Our lesson today is going to be brought to us by Pastor 00:05:49.58\00:05:51.95 Shawn Brummund, our family life here at Granite Bay. 00:05:51.98\00:05:55.48 And as you can tell, all of us enjoy the book of Daniel and we 00:05:55.52\00:05:59.59 almost had to flip a coin to figure out who's gonna teach 00:05:59.62\00:06:01.99 what chapter. 00:06:02.02\00:06:03.32 But no, we're excited that he's going to be able to share 00:06:03.36\00:06:05.33 with us Daniel chapter 9. 00:06:05.36\00:06:07.10 Thank you Pastor Brummund. 00:06:07.13\00:06:09.83 Shawn Brummund: Good morning to everybody. 00:06:09.86\00:06:11.93 It's good to be back here in the Granite Bay Church 00:06:11.97\00:06:14.14 and to be able to study with you on this very important topic. 00:06:14.17\00:06:17.47 One of my favorite chapters that we can find in all of Scripture 00:06:17.51\00:06:21.31 is found in Daniel chapter 9 and the prophecy timeline that 00:06:21.34\00:06:26.35 is found there. 00:06:26.38\00:06:27.72 And so I found it a privilege to be able to be here. 00:06:27.75\00:06:31.45 And as we looked at last week's subject, as we looked at that 00:06:31.49\00:06:35.16 powerful vision and experience that Daniel had in Daniel 00:06:35.19\00:06:38.33 chapter 8, as we came to the conclusion of that, we 00:06:38.36\00:06:41.30 came to a very powerful and really packed statement that 00:06:41.33\00:06:45.97 was made at the conclusion of the vision, and we find it 00:06:46.00\00:06:47.90 on the screen here. 00:06:47.94\00:06:49.27 Daniel 8, verse 14, "And he said unto me." 00:06:49.30\00:06:51.71 And we can turn there if you want to, and I invite you to do 00:06:51.74\00:06:54.88 that. 00:06:54.91\00:06:56.34 He said, "And he said unto me, 'For two thousand three hundred 00:06:56.38\00:06:59.25 days, and then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.'" 00:06:59.28\00:07:04.39 And so, Pastor Jean had done such a great job in unpacking 00:07:04.42\00:07:09.49 a little bit about the what and the where. 00:07:09.52\00:07:12.16 And so where do we find the sanctuary? 00:07:12.19\00:07:13.76 For those of us who are in review, where do we find that 00:07:13.80\00:07:16.40 sanctuary? 00:07:16.43\00:07:17.83 We find it in heaven, don't we? 00:07:17.87\00:07:19.27 Okay, so we find a sanctuary in heaven. 00:07:19.30\00:07:21.70 And so really, the Bible talks about two key sanctuaries, one 00:07:21.74\00:07:25.47 reflecting the other. 00:07:25.51\00:07:26.81 The first one is the Old Testament sanctuary, and that is 00:07:26.84\00:07:29.98 the one which Moses had established with the old 00:07:30.01\00:07:32.05 covenant and which he had established--God established 00:07:32.08\00:07:34.68 a covenant with Israel. 00:07:34.72\00:07:36.15 They had developed a tabernacle, a sanctuary, that eventually 00:07:36.18\00:07:40.76 became a temple, and it was a two room temple. 00:07:40.79\00:07:43.29 And then we also have the earthly priesthood that was 00:07:43.32\00:07:45.43 permanently set there, a human priesthood. 00:07:45.46\00:07:47.66 And then we also have the altar of sacrifices that took place 00:07:47.66\00:07:50.27 there every day and throughout the year as they 00:07:50.30\00:07:55.54 continued to worship the Lord in that--in that way, respect. 00:07:55.57\00:07:59.74 But as we looked at last week, and this is in review, there is 00:07:59.77\00:08:02.24 a heavenly, even grander, much better, more important sanctuary 00:08:02.28\00:08:06.08 than that of the one in Jerusalem on earth and that 00:08:06.11\00:08:08.82 is the New Testament sanctuary. 00:08:08.85\00:08:10.55 So we have the Old Testament sanctuary in earthly Jerusalem, 00:08:10.59\00:08:14.32 but we have a heavenly New Testament sanctuary that is 00:08:14.36\00:08:17.79 found in heaven. 00:08:17.83\00:08:19.36 And the new--the Old Testament priesthood is replaced 00:08:19.39\00:08:23.03 with a much better and perfect priesthood, which is found 00:08:23.06\00:08:26.57 in the person of the Son of God, Jesus Christ Himself. 00:08:26.60\00:08:30.44 And the earthly sacrificial system that surrounded 00:08:30.47\00:08:33.34 the earthly temple and sanctuary was replaced with the perfect, 00:08:33.38\00:08:37.08 once-for-all sacrifice, which is found on a hill called Calvary 00:08:37.11\00:08:41.52 in which Jesus Christ Himself died for the sins of the world, 00:08:41.55\00:08:45.32 and so we have a much better priesthood that is in heaven. 00:08:45.35\00:08:48.16 And I don't know about you, but I'm just glad to live 00:08:48.19\00:08:50.23 in the New Testament era, because we can come to God, we 00:08:50.26\00:08:53.33 can come through Jesus and to Jesus as our High Priest 00:08:53.36\00:08:56.30 24/7, and He is there to mediate for your sins and mine. 00:08:56.33\00:09:00.44 And He'd be able to give us a continuing walk with Him as we 00:09:00.47\00:09:04.14 grow into His holiness as He works in our hearts. 00:09:04.17\00:09:07.31 And so that's a little bit of review of what we looked 00:09:07.34\00:09:09.38 at last week in regards to Daniel chapter 8, 00:09:09.41\00:09:12.08 and the reason I'm doing that is because we are going to discover 00:09:12.11\00:09:15.02 now the when of this cleansing of the sanctuary. 00:09:15.05\00:09:18.75 Because again, last week we looked at the what 00:09:18.79\00:09:20.96 and the where, but today we want to also unpack and look at where 00:09:20.99\00:09:25.16 the when is. 00:09:25.19\00:09:26.49 When does this 2,300 day, and of course, a day 00:09:26.53\00:09:30.17 in prophetic prophecy always represents a literal year. 00:09:30.20\00:09:34.04 And we find that principle, if you haven't studied it 00:09:34.07\00:09:35.84 in the past, in Ezekiel chapter 4, and verse 6. 00:09:35.87\00:09:39.37 God had very clearly started to establish in symbolic 00:09:39.41\00:09:42.68 prophecy only that a prophetic symbolic day represents 00:09:42.71\00:09:47.12 a literal year. 00:09:47.15\00:09:48.92 And so is this a long prophecy, friends? 00:09:48.95\00:09:51.39 It's a very long prophecy. 00:09:51.42\00:09:52.75 In fact, it is the longest-reaching time 00:09:52.79\00:09:54.36 prophecy in all of Scripture, and it is also one of the most 00:09:54.39\00:09:57.33 important, and for our day and age also one 00:09:57.36\00:09:59.89 of the most relevant. 00:09:59.93\00:10:02.36 And so as, again, a review, when we come to the conclusion 00:10:02.40\00:10:05.17 of the 2,300 year prophecy, when the sanctuary begins to be 00:10:05.20\00:10:08.14 cleansed in the heavenly sanctuary, indeed it marks 00:10:08.17\00:10:11.67 the final work that Jesus would do in earth's history and in His 00:10:11.71\00:10:15.48 plan of salvation, which He would move from the first room 00:10:15.51\00:10:19.68 at the sanctuary into the second room, the most holy place, 00:10:19.71\00:10:23.75 in which He would do that final work. 00:10:23.79\00:10:26.39 And we'll talk about that more in detail as we come to this 00:10:26.42\00:10:29.59 study a little bit later on. 00:10:29.62\00:10:31.09 But not only that, but as we come back to verses 16 and 17 00:10:31.13\00:10:34.20 in chapter 8, we discover there that indeed, the conclusion 00:10:34.20\00:10:37.47 of this particular time prophecy also points us to the time 00:10:37.50\00:10:40.97 of the end. 00:10:41.00\00:10:42.34 Let's read it quickly. 00:10:42.37\00:10:43.67 "And I heard a man's voice between the banks of the Ulai, 00:10:43.71\00:10:45.64 who called and said, 'Gabriel, make this man understand 00:10:45.67\00:10:49.54 the vision.' 00:10:49.58\00:10:50.91 So he came near where I stood, and when he came I was afraid 00:10:50.95\00:10:53.78 and fell on my face, but he said to me, 'Understand, son of man, 00:10:53.82\00:10:58.12 that the vision refers to the time of the-- 00:10:58.15\00:11:01.22 to the time of the end.'" 00:11:01.26\00:11:03.26 And so this prophecy even becomes more important relevant 00:11:03.29\00:11:05.33 because not only does it point to the cleansing of the heavenly 00:11:05.36\00:11:07.96 sanctuary, Christ's final work in the plan of salvation, but it 00:11:08.00\00:11:10.97 also points us to the beginning of what we can say-- 00:11:11.00\00:11:13.87 the beginning of the end, the last phase of earth's 00:11:13.90\00:11:17.97 history when God is wrapping things up in heaven that he 00:11:18.01\00:11:20.94 might send His Son back to Earth as God and Jesus had promised 00:11:20.98\00:11:24.71 to be able to take His people home and live eternally 00:11:24.75\00:11:27.62 with Him. 00:11:27.65\00:11:29.12 So let's fast forward now to the last two verses of Daniel 00:11:29.15\00:11:32.29 chapter 8, verses 26 and 27. 00:11:32.32\00:11:35.66 And as we fast forward to that, of course this is review, Daniel 00:11:35.69\00:11:39.46 has had this experience, not only in a prophetic vision, 00:11:39.49\00:11:41.90 but also with the great Angel Gabriel, as Gabriel has been 00:11:41.93\00:11:44.87 faithfully doing that which we had just read he was 00:11:44.90\00:11:47.80 commissioned to do, and that is to unpack or to give 00:11:47.84\00:11:50.51 the interpretation of the symbolic vision that 00:11:50.54\00:11:53.38 Daniel had received. 00:11:53.41\00:11:54.84 Did Gabriel do a good job at that? 00:11:54.88\00:11:57.55 Sure he did, didn't he? 00:11:57.58\00:11:58.91 He did a very good job at unpacking it. 00:11:58.95\00:12:00.62 In fact, he gives us some of the most detailed 00:12:00.65\00:12:03.72 interpretations and understandings in regard 00:12:03.75\00:12:06.19 to the symbolic vision that Daniel had received. 00:12:06.22\00:12:09.56 But then as we come to verse 26, as he is continuing his job, 00:12:09.59\00:12:13.70 Gabriel that is, it says, "In the visions of the evenings 00:12:13.73\00:12:16.36 and the mornings, which we're told is true, therefore seal 00:12:16.40\00:12:19.80 up the vision for it refers to many days in the future." 00:12:19.83\00:12:23.34 Indeed, very many days, 2,300 years into the future. 00:12:23.37\00:12:28.14 Well, poor Gabriel, he probably was intending to continue 00:12:28.18\00:12:31.15 to unpack that a little bit more and allow a little bit 00:12:31.18\00:12:33.45 of interaction between him and Daniel in understanding that 00:12:33.48\00:12:35.95 further, but his student passes out. 00:12:35.98\00:12:38.55 Not only did he pass out, he had to take sick leave for several 00:12:38.59\00:12:40.92 days, and we read that in the next verse. 00:12:40.96\00:12:43.79 It says, "And I, Daniel, fainted and was sick for days. 00:12:43.83\00:12:47.30 And afterward, I arose and went about the king's business and I 00:12:47.36\00:12:51.20 was astonished by the vision, but no one understood it." 00:12:51.23\00:12:56.04 And so here's Daniel. 00:12:56.07\00:12:57.54 Gabriel has done a very good job in giving him understanding 00:12:57.57\00:13:00.18 of the entire vision until he gets to the very last verse, 00:13:00.21\00:13:04.61 where it is stated for under 2,300 days, then 00:13:04.65\00:13:08.08 the sanctuary shall be cleansed. 00:13:08.12\00:13:10.25 Well, Daniel so overwhelmed by this that he passes 00:13:10.29\00:13:13.12 out and has to take sick leave for a time. 00:13:13.15\00:13:15.36 And so was Gabriel able to finish his job? 00:13:15.39\00:13:18.23 No, it's very hard to teach a student that's passed out, 00:13:18.26\00:13:20.66 isn't it? 00:13:20.70\00:13:22.00 And that's what we find in this particular case, and so Gabriel 00:13:22.03\00:13:24.67 returns back to his Father in heaven. 00:13:24.70\00:13:26.60 And as it turns out, when we come into chapter 9 we find that 00:13:26.63\00:13:29.44 about ten years has passed since that experience. 00:13:29.47\00:13:32.11 And so God lets Daniel sit on that for about ten years. 00:13:32.14\00:13:35.74 Now, friends, I want to ask you for us to be able to put 00:13:35.78\00:13:38.91 ourselves in Daniel's shoes. 00:13:38.95\00:13:40.25 Why was Daniel so overwhelmed? 00:13:40.28\00:13:42.32 Well, we have to remember that Daniel had been in captivity 00:13:42.35\00:13:44.82 in Babylon for about 60 years at this point in history when he 00:13:44.85\00:13:47.82 received this vision, okay? 00:13:47.86\00:13:49.86 Many of his fellow countrymen had been killed when 00:13:49.89\00:13:52.13 the Babylonians came in and destroyed Jerusalem, 00:13:52.16\00:13:54.73 level-led the temple, brought many of the--most 00:13:54.76\00:13:58.13 of the Israelites back to Babylon, the ones that 00:13:58.17\00:14:00.44 weren't killed, and they became slaves for many years to come. 00:14:00.47\00:14:04.14 And Daniel was a slave for the rest of his life. 00:14:04.17\00:14:08.18 And so Daniel's totally blown away by this 2,300 year prophecy 00:14:08.21\00:14:12.55 because his mind is on the earthly sanctuary. 00:14:12.58\00:14:15.82 His mind is on reestablishing not only Jerusalem, but most 00:14:15.85\00:14:19.25 importantly in his heart is to reestablish God's holy 00:14:19.29\00:14:22.19 temple, that they begin the sacrificial system 00:14:22.22\00:14:24.73 and to worship God through the plan of salvation 00:14:24.76\00:14:27.46 that is spelled out there and played out there. 00:14:27.50\00:14:29.90 And the most important, or one of the most important ceremonies 00:14:29.93\00:14:32.73 that took place was Yom Kippur, as our Jewish friends call it 00:14:32.77\00:14:36.07 today, which is the Day of Atonement, and that was 00:14:36.10\00:14:39.71 the annual cleansing of the earthly 00:14:39.74\00:14:41.84 Old Testament sanctuary. 00:14:41.88\00:14:43.85 So in Daniel's mind, almost for certain, he's thinking, 00:14:43.88\00:14:45.68 "Now, wait a minute. 00:14:45.71\00:14:47.02 I've got a major tension in my mind because we're 60 years 00:14:47.05\00:14:49.58 into captivity. 00:14:49.62\00:14:50.92 I've read Jeremiah's writings, and in Jeremiah chapter 29, 00:14:50.95\00:14:54.36 in verse 10, it tells me very clearly amongst other places 00:14:54.39\00:14:57.49 in that book that God says that our punishment in captivity 00:14:57.53\00:15:00.76 in Babylon will last seven years." 00:15:00.80\00:15:03.03 And so in Daniel's mind, he's thinking when he received 00:15:03.06\00:15:05.00 the vision in Daniel 8 it should only be ten more years 00:15:05.03\00:15:07.44 before the sanctuary starts to be cleansed again in the Day 00:15:07.47\00:15:10.24 of Atonement. 00:15:10.27\00:15:11.51 But now God throws a curve ball and he says, Listen, actually it 00:15:11.54\00:15:14.68 sounds like now that the sanctuary won't be cleansed 00:15:14.71\00:15:17.01 for another 2,300 years and there'll be multiple world 00:15:17.05\00:15:20.35 empires that will rise and fall in that part of the world 00:15:20.38\00:15:23.32 and all these things will take place before the sanctuary will 00:15:23.35\00:15:26.52 be cleansed. 00:15:26.55\00:15:27.86 And so for ten years now, Daniel is sitting on this, until he 00:15:27.89\00:15:30.76 comes to the conclusion of the 70-year period, and now 00:15:30.79\00:15:33.93 he's really distressed because he's still wondering, "When is 00:15:33.96\00:15:37.43 God going to fulfill the cleansing of the sanctuary?" 00:15:37.47\00:15:41.17 And so we find as we come to Daniel chapter 9 that he's 00:15:41.20\00:15:43.64 on his knees, praying fervently. 00:15:43.67\00:15:45.97 He's traded his clothes for sackcloth. 00:15:46.01\00:15:47.81 He puts his food aside and begins fasting. 00:15:47.84\00:15:50.28 And he starts to pray in intercession for Israel, 00:15:50.31\00:15:53.01 claiming that promise that God had given in Jeremiah, that 00:15:53.05\00:15:56.42 indeed the time had come in which His promise was to be 00:15:56.45\00:15:59.69 fulfilled and the Jews were to be able to be free to go back 00:15:59.72\00:16:03.09 to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. 00:16:03.12\00:16:06.09 And he claims that promise and he pleads with God, "Please 00:16:06.13\00:16:09.73 help your earthly temple to be built once again 00:16:09.76\00:16:12.37 in the Holy Jerusalem." 00:16:12.40\00:16:14.60 Well, we don't have time to look at that actual prayer. 00:16:14.64\00:16:16.94 If you've read your quarterly, that particular quarterly does 00:16:16.97\00:16:20.28 just a wonderful job in being able to unpack that for us 00:16:20.31\00:16:23.55 and give us some good insights, but because of limited time, I 00:16:23.58\00:16:26.68 just want us to be able to fast forward to verse 21 as we come 00:16:26.72\00:16:29.62 to the conclusion of that particular prayer. 00:16:29.65\00:16:32.95 Because as Daniel is in the midst of this prayer 00:16:32.99\00:16:35.22 for whatever hours that was, we find here in verse 21 that he's 00:16:35.26\00:16:39.26 interrupted by no one else but the Angel Gabriel, who had 00:16:39.29\00:16:45.27 an encounter with him in just the previous vision 00:16:45.63\00:16:49.47 in chapter 8 itself. 00:16:49.50\00:16:51.67 So let's go to verse 21. 00:16:51.71\00:16:53.54 Verse 21, it says, "Yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man 00:16:53.58\00:16:56.41 Gabriel whom I had seen in vision at the beginning, 00:16:56.44\00:17:00.68 being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time 00:17:00.72\00:17:04.35 of the evening offering." 00:17:04.39\00:17:05.62 Now, isn't it wonderful to know that angels can be sent in just 00:17:05.65\00:17:08.19 a moment's notice and arrive here all the way from heaven? 00:17:08.22\00:17:11.69 Now, we know, just knowing the size of the universe 00:17:11.73\00:17:13.86 and that our telescopes can't even come close to reaching 00:17:13.90\00:17:15.93 where heaven, that it's multiple light-years away 00:17:15.96\00:17:19.17 from this planet. 00:17:19.20\00:17:21.20 And so for angels, the thought of traveling at the speed 00:17:21.24\00:17:23.61 of light is very primitive, and they're thinking, "Man 00:17:23.64\00:17:26.31 alive, that's really slow because I can go way 00:17:26.34\00:17:28.81 faster than that. 00:17:28.84\00:17:30.48 I can go millions of light-years or thousands of light-years, 00:17:30.51\00:17:31.95 whatever it is, in just a moment's notice." 00:17:31.98\00:17:34.45 And Gabriel shows up on the scene with Daniel. 00:17:34.48\00:17:38.22 Verse 22, "And he informed me and talked with me and said, 'Oh 00:17:38.25\00:17:41.39 Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill 00:17:41.42\00:17:44.33 to understand.'" 00:17:44.36\00:17:45.76 Well, that's what he was doing before Daniel passed 00:17:45.79\00:17:47.86 out in the previous chapter. 00:17:47.93\00:17:50.80 Verse 22, he says, "And at the beginning of your 00:17:50.83\00:17:52.63 supplications, the command went out and I have come to tell you, 00:17:52.67\00:17:56.67 for you are greatly beloved, and therefore consider 00:17:56.71\00:17:59.74 the matter and understand the vision." 00:17:59.77\00:18:04.28 Now, friends, I want to ask you a very important question 00:18:04.31\00:18:06.85 in regards to this, because some people have a hard time seeing 00:18:06.88\00:18:10.39 the connection, the inseparable connection, between what Gabriel 00:18:10.42\00:18:14.02 is now about to start to unpack and give to Daniel in the last 00:18:14.06\00:18:17.16 part of this chapter 9, and how it is inseparably connected 00:18:17.19\00:18:21.26 to the last verse of the vision that he received in Daniel 00:18:21.30\00:18:23.90 chapter 8, and this is the question that you need 00:18:23.93\00:18:26.53 to ask yourselves now and in the future to be able 00:18:26.57\00:18:28.90 to see this clearly. 00:18:28.94\00:18:30.84 How many visions did Daniel receive in the 9th chapter 00:18:30.87\00:18:36.54 of the book of Daniel? 00:18:36.58\00:18:39.01 How many visions did Daniel receive? 00:18:39.05\00:18:42.85 Somebody said none. 00:18:42.88\00:18:44.22 That's right, zero, okay? 00:18:44.25\00:18:46.25 He received zero visions, alright? 00:18:46.29\00:18:48.59 So if Daniel--Gabriel shows up and he says, "Listen, I have 00:18:48.62\00:18:51.16 come to give you understanding of the vision," and there is no 00:18:51.19\00:18:55.53 vision in Daniel chapter 9, we have to back up further 00:18:55.56\00:18:59.13 before Daniel chapter 9, and that is Daniel chapter 8. 00:18:59.17\00:19:02.80 The very last vision that Daniel received and the only vision 00:19:02.84\00:19:06.07 that he received since he was with Gabriel previous to this, 00:19:06.11\00:19:10.15 and now with his experience with Gabriel, is the vision 00:19:10.18\00:19:13.25 that's recorded in Daniel chapter 8. 00:19:13.28\00:19:15.65 And so there's no other vision that Gabriel can be referring 00:19:15.68\00:19:18.65 to 'cause there is no other vision recorded in Daniel 00:19:18.69\00:19:20.72 chapter 9. 00:19:20.76\00:19:21.99 And so he has to, inevitably, be referring to the vision before. 00:19:22.02\00:19:25.79 Now, did Gabriel do a good job at unpacking and giving 00:19:25.83\00:19:28.43 understanding to Daniel to every different symbol in that vision 00:19:28.46\00:19:32.47 until he got to the last verse? 00:19:32.50\00:19:34.94 He did, didn't he? 00:19:34.97\00:19:36.27 Alright, so Gabriel did a very good job and that's why we enjoy 00:19:36.30\00:19:38.77 studying it, because God just unpacks it so wonderfully 00:19:38.81\00:19:41.18 through his angel. 00:19:41.21\00:19:42.78 But then when we come to this particular verse, when we come 00:19:42.81\00:19:45.45 to this particular statement, there is still more that God 00:19:45.48\00:19:48.12 wants both Daniel, and you, and I to understand. 00:19:48.15\00:19:51.79 And so now, Daniel of course has received his health, 00:19:51.82\00:19:54.29 his strength. 00:19:54.32\00:19:55.96 He's in a good state of mind. 00:19:55.99\00:19:57.33 He's in deep prayer, claiming the promises of God. 00:19:57.36\00:19:59.79 And now, Gabriel gives us more information. 00:19:59.83\00:20:03.87 So then we come to verse 24. 00:20:03.90\00:20:05.67 In verse 24, it says, "Seventy weeks are determined for your 00:20:05.70\00:20:09.20 people and for your Holy City." 00:20:09.24\00:20:11.64 Now, who would Daniel's people and city be? 00:20:11.67\00:20:15.01 Okay, Daniel's a Jewish person, so his people would be 00:20:15.04\00:20:18.35 the Jewish Israelites, alright? 00:20:18.38\00:20:19.95 And his city would be none other than the Holy City and capital 00:20:19.98\00:20:23.39 of Israel, which is Jerusalem itself. 00:20:23.42\00:20:26.62 And so, "Seventy weeks are determined for your people 00:20:26.65\00:20:30.23 and for your Holy City to finish the transgression, to make 00:20:30.26\00:20:32.99 an end of sins, to make reconciliation for iniquity, 00:20:33.03\00:20:36.53 to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal 00:20:36.56\00:20:39.03 up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most holy." 00:20:39.07\00:20:44.11 And so here, we have Gabriel and he says, "Listen, I'm givin' 00:20:44.14\00:20:47.68 you an additional timeline. 00:20:47.71\00:20:49.31 I'm giving you more information that is directly related 00:20:49.34\00:20:52.98 to the last vision which I gave you," which is found in Daniel 00:20:53.01\00:20:55.28 chapter 8, and verse 14. 00:20:55.32\00:20:57.69 Now, there's a couple of things that we need to understand. 00:20:57.72\00:20:59.35 We already concluded very simply and easily that Daniel's people 00:20:59.39\00:21:02.59 would be the Jewish people, but the term that is found 00:21:02.62\00:21:05.99 in many translations "determined," some translations 00:21:06.03\00:21:09.10 may say separated or cut off, and that's because they're all 00:21:09.13\00:21:13.50 accurate and right. 00:21:13.54\00:21:15.74 And so the original Jewish word is talking about being cut 00:21:15.77\00:21:18.47 off or separated from something else other than itself. 00:21:18.51\00:21:22.01 Now, because it's directly related to Daniel 8, verse 14 00:21:22.04\00:21:25.61 in the 2,300-year prophecy, we know that what Gabriel's now 00:21:25.65\00:21:29.72 giving is also part of the same timeline. 00:21:29.75\00:21:33.12 And so God essentially here is saying, "Listen, that 2,300-year 00:21:33.15\00:21:36.66 prophecy that I gave you, I'm giving you a sub-timeline that 00:21:36.69\00:21:40.86 is also directly related included in that time space." 00:21:40.90\00:21:44.23 And this particular timeline is directly related to the Jewish 00:21:44.27\00:21:47.90 people, and the Jewish nation, and the capital city 00:21:47.94\00:21:51.51 of Jerusalem, and of course its temple that is included. 00:21:51.54\00:21:57.15 Alright, so there we have it, and so let's go back. 00:21:57.18\00:22:00.42 In fact, I want to look at a bit of a time chart here. 00:22:00.45\00:22:02.75 When we look at a time chart here, we find here that this is 00:22:02.78\00:22:05.75 the start of the 2,300-year prophecy and this will be 00:22:05.79\00:22:10.56 the conclusion of it when the sanctuary is cleansed 00:22:10.59\00:22:12.96 at the end of the 2,300 years. 00:22:12.99\00:22:15.66 Then we come to the 70-week period, and so God now is giving 00:22:15.70\00:22:18.53 us a sub-timeline. 00:22:18.57\00:22:20.07 The first 490 years, because of course 70 weeks, if you have 00:22:20.10\00:22:24.24 70 weeks times 7, that is how many days? 00:22:24.27\00:22:27.21 Four hundred and ninety days. 00:22:27.24\00:22:28.54 And in symbolic prophecy, a day represents a literal year, 00:22:28.58\00:22:33.21 and so now we know that the first 490 years of this 00:22:33.25\00:22:36.58 particular prophecy is determined, is cut off, is given 00:22:36.62\00:22:40.62 to that of the purposes of the Jews, the Holy City 00:22:40.66\00:22:43.49 of Jerusalem, and of course the nation of Israel. 00:22:43.53\00:22:46.29 And then of course, there's 1,810 remaining days. 00:22:46.33\00:22:49.13 That brings us to the conclusion of the 2,300-year prophecy. 00:22:49.16\00:22:54.30 And are you with me so far? 00:22:54.34\00:22:56.34 All right, okay, so let's go to verse 25. 00:22:56.37\00:22:58.24 Now, verse 25 is no small verse because how much is all these 00:22:58.27\00:23:02.18 timelines and prophecies that God gave to us if he doesn't 00:23:02.21\00:23:05.41 give us some indication and help in understanding when those 00:23:05.45\00:23:08.88 particular timelines begin? 00:23:08.92\00:23:11.25 It's not worth anything, is it? 00:23:11.29\00:23:13.09 And so we need to be able to know what historical event 00:23:13.12\00:23:16.83 or what year in earth's history is the beginning of this 00:23:16.86\00:23:20.80 greatest and longest reaching and one of the most important 00:23:20.83\00:23:24.33 timelines that we can find in all of Scripture? 00:23:24.37\00:23:27.40 Indeed, we have verse 25, and that's what makes verse 25 00:23:27.44\00:23:31.01 absolutely priceless in concern to these two visions 00:23:31.04\00:23:35.01 or in concern to these two chapters of Daniel. 00:23:35.04\00:23:38.68 So verse 25, it says, "Know therefore and understand that 00:23:38.71\00:23:41.22 from the going forth of the command to restore 00:23:41.25\00:23:44.19 and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince--" who 00:23:44.22\00:23:48.46 do you suppose that is? 00:23:48.49\00:23:50.03 None other than Jesus himself, okay? 00:23:50.06\00:23:52.46 That's why many translations have it with a capital M. 00:23:52.49\00:23:54.93 "There shall be 7 weeks and 62 weeks." 00:23:54.96\00:23:57.93 Now, let's do some quick math. 00:23:57.97\00:23:59.27 What 7 weeks and 62 weeks later? 00:23:59.30\00:24:02.37 That's 69 weeks, isn't it? 00:24:02.40\00:24:03.74 Okay, so after 69 weeks, "The Messiah the Prince shall come 69 00:24:03.77\00:24:09.71 weeks after the command to go and restore and build Jerusalem. 00:24:09.74\00:24:13.68 The street shall be built again and the wall, even 00:24:13.72\00:24:16.42 in troublesome times." 00:24:16.45\00:24:17.69 And indeed, as you read the book of Ezra and Nehemiah, as we have 00:24:17.72\00:24:20.42 in just recent history here in Sabbath School, it was very 00:24:20.46\00:24:23.76 troublesome times in which the Israelites that went back 00:24:23.79\00:24:26.23 to Jerusalem found themselves rebuilding the wall, 00:24:26.26\00:24:28.73 and the city, and the temple once again. 00:24:28.76\00:24:31.63 And so verse 25 is absolutely critical and essential, why? 00:24:31.67\00:24:35.24 Because it points us to the historical event that 00:24:35.27\00:24:38.54 will mark the beginning of these particular timelines. 00:24:38.57\00:24:42.48 And indeed, God even in verse 25 began to divide up this 00:24:42.51\00:24:46.51 particular timeline of 490 years, and we're gonna look 00:24:46.55\00:24:49.65 at some of those details in a powerful way just shortly 00:24:49.68\00:24:52.79 here in the future. 00:24:52.82\00:24:54.16 And so as it turns out, as we look at our history books, 00:24:54.19\00:24:56.19 but not only our history books, but the most reliable history 00:24:56.22\00:24:58.86 book in all of the world, which is the Holy Bible itself, we 00:24:58.89\00:25:02.30 find in Ezra in the 7th chapter that God knew that this 00:25:02.33\00:25:05.37 particular decree, and historically that was 00:25:05.40\00:25:07.37 so important, understanding his prophecies in Daniel, that He 00:25:07.40\00:25:10.64 saw to it that the very decree, word by word from the very hand 00:25:10.67\00:25:15.78 of King Artaxerxes himself, was preserved for us to be able 00:25:15.81\00:25:20.18 to read. 00:25:20.22\00:25:21.52 Now of course, we don't have time to read that here this 00:25:21.55\00:25:22.88 morning, but in Ezra chapter 7, verse 7, he also tells us that 00:25:22.92\00:25:26.02 that decree of Artaxerxes was given in the 50th year 00:25:26.05\00:25:30.36 of the reign of King Artaxerxes himself. 00:25:30.39\00:25:33.40 Now, if we look in the history books, the history books tells 00:25:33.43\00:25:36.10 us that King Artaxerxes in the 7th--sorry, in the 15th 00:25:36.13\00:25:39.93 year of his reign, that was the year 457 BC. 00:25:39.97\00:25:44.41 Is that an important date, friends? 00:25:44.44\00:25:46.47 It's a vital date. 00:25:46.51\00:25:47.84 It's a priceless date. 00:25:47.88\00:25:49.18 It's an essential date because it gives us the beginning point 00:25:49.21\00:25:52.75 and year to be able to start to count down these particular 00:25:52.78\00:25:56.02 timelines that God has given to you and me. 00:25:56.05\00:25:59.79 And so let's go ahead and do some math. 00:25:59.82\00:26:02.52 If we start at the starting point now, because the command 00:26:02.56\00:26:05.56 to go and rebuild Jerusalem takes place in 457 BC, and we 00:26:05.59\00:26:09.43 want to find out when does the 490-year prophecy and time 00:26:09.46\00:26:13.30 period that applies to the Jews in the city of Jerusalem take 00:26:13.34\00:26:15.97 place, and conclude, friends, we have to go from 457 BC 483-- 00:26:16.00\00:26:22.01 sorry, 490 years into the future, and where does 00:26:22.31\00:26:25.21 that bring us? 00:26:25.25\00:26:28.72 We have some mathematicians out there? 00:26:28.75\00:26:31.99 34 BC. 00:26:32.02\00:26:34.29 Okay, so it brings us to the year 34. 00:26:34.32\00:26:36.79 Sorry, 34 AD. 00:26:36.83\00:26:38.53 And so as we come to the year 34 AD, we come to the conclusion 00:26:38.56\00:26:42.63 of God's timeline and period in history that would bring us 00:26:42.66\00:26:47.57 to the conclusion of God's purposes for the Jews 00:26:47.60\00:26:50.54 and for the Holy City of Jerusalem here on earth. 00:26:50.57\00:26:54.08 Now, there's something very critical that's recorded in Acts 00:26:54.11\00:26:56.54 chapter 7 that took place, and that is that the very--one 00:26:56.58\00:26:59.85 of the first deacons by the way, his name was Stephen, was 00:26:59.88\00:27:03.12 the first Christian martyr in Christian history. 00:27:03.15\00:27:06.32 Now, Stephen was no small individual. 00:27:06.35\00:27:08.49 He was a key individual in which God had called to be able 00:27:08.52\00:27:11.66 to bring his last appeal to the nation of Israel. 00:27:11.69\00:27:15.00 The Israelites in general as a nation, and its religious 00:27:15.03\00:27:17.90 leaders, and political leaders had rejected Jesus. 00:27:17.93\00:27:20.40 They had led Jesus to the cross. 00:27:20.44\00:27:22.34 They had killed him and they had been denying him ever since. 00:27:22.37\00:27:25.91 And they've been persecuting his people and his apostles. 00:27:25.94\00:27:29.14 Well, 3 1/2 years after Jesus resurrected, 00:27:29.18\00:27:31.95 ascended back to His Father, the Christian church was going 00:27:31.98\00:27:34.48 into its--into its evangelistic stage and was expanding 00:27:34.52\00:27:39.29 and baptizing people on a daily basis, we find that God sends 00:27:39.32\00:27:43.66 Stephen. 00:27:43.69\00:27:44.99 Now, not only as a deacon, but also as a prophet 00:27:45.03\00:27:46.93 before the Sanhedrin, which was the highest ruling body both 00:27:46.96\00:27:51.87 religiously and politically in the nation of Israel 00:27:51.90\00:27:55.20 in concern to the Jews. 00:27:55.24\00:27:56.57 And so Stephen begins to give a speech as God inspired him 00:27:56.60\00:27:59.67 to give this last appeal and speech that they might see 00:27:59.71\00:28:02.84 and accept Jesus as the promised Messiah that they had rejected. 00:28:02.88\00:28:06.88 Sadly, he doesn't even get to the end of his speech. 00:28:06.92\00:28:09.48 They are so enraged by this attempt of God and Stephen to be 00:28:09.52\00:28:13.46 able to appeal to them that they drive him out of the Sanhedrin 00:28:13.49\00:28:16.99 building, and they bring him over outside somewhere, and they 00:28:17.03\00:28:20.66 pick up stones, and they throw rocks at him until he is dead. 00:28:20.70\00:28:26.27 And so friends, this is the final conclusion 00:28:26.30\00:28:28.80 of the 490-year prophecy and period that brings us 00:28:28.84\00:28:33.78 to the conclusion of God's use and purposes for the city 00:28:33.81\00:28:38.38 of Jerusalem and the nation of Israel. 00:28:38.41\00:28:41.05 You see, friends, one of the most tragic and hardest 00:28:41.08\00:28:43.59 decisions that God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ had 00:28:43.62\00:28:46.39 to make in concern to the nation that God had loved, 00:28:46.42\00:28:50.39 and nurtured, and patiently had guided as best as he possibly 00:28:50.43\00:28:54.03 could for centuries, God and His Son Jesus Christ had determined 00:28:54.10\00:28:59.27 at the end of the 490 years, when they completely 00:28:59.30\00:29:03.07 and persistently rejected Jesus as the Messiah, God is going 00:29:03.10\00:29:07.14 to have to look for another nation to be able to fulfill his 00:29:07.18\00:29:10.55 purposes in bringing the gospel to the world. 00:29:10.58\00:29:13.18 And that's why when we come to Matthew chapter 21, and verse 00:29:13.21\00:29:15.62 43, when again He's in a tense conversation with the religious 00:29:15.65\00:29:19.12 leaders of the Jewish nation and He says, "Listen, there is 00:29:19.15\00:29:22.29 a time in which the nation and the kingdom will be taken 00:29:22.32\00:29:25.39 from you, and given to another nation bearing 00:29:25.43\00:29:29.06 the fruits thereof." 00:29:29.10\00:29:31.93 This is why the Apostle Paul later on in Galatians chapter 3, 00:29:31.97\00:29:34.77 and verse 29 made this statement in his letter. 00:29:34.80\00:29:37.44 He says, "And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's 00:29:37.47\00:29:40.21 seed and heirs according to the promise." 00:29:40.24\00:29:44.28 In other words, all of us here as believers are Jews. 00:29:44.31\00:29:47.28 Did you know that? 00:29:47.32\00:29:48.78 Okay, so in God's eyes according to the New Testament theology 00:29:48.82\00:29:52.05 and revelation that God has, God's purposes for the Christian 00:29:52.09\00:29:54.69 church, now there is a nation without borders. 00:29:54.72\00:29:57.73 There is a nation without a civil body that rules it. 00:29:57.76\00:30:02.46 It is the body of God's believers, 00:30:02.50\00:30:03.80 the holy church of God. 00:30:03.83\00:30:05.47 And so each of us, when we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord 00:30:05.50\00:30:08.47 and Savior, become a spiritual descendant of Abraham, 00:30:08.50\00:30:12.61 a spiritual Jew. 00:30:12.64\00:30:14.08 That's why Peter wrote in 1 Peter chapter 2, and verse 9, as 00:30:14.11\00:30:17.91 he spoke to the church, he says, "But you are a chosen 00:30:17.95\00:30:20.25 generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special 00:30:20.28\00:30:26.29 people." 00:30:27.16\00:30:28.46 And so Peter understood very clearly that the time prophecy 00:30:28.49\00:30:31.69 of Daniel chapter 9, the 490-year period 00:30:31.73\00:30:34.83 and probation for the Israelite nation to come to its 00:30:34.83\00:30:37.47 conclusion, and indeed God now was giving and working 00:30:37.50\00:30:40.80 through a different nation, the New Testament nation 00:30:40.84\00:30:43.77 of the holy Christian church. 00:30:43.81\00:30:47.74 Alright, so that being said, let's return back to verse 25, 00:30:47.78\00:30:50.65 because verse 25 reveals something for us in addition 00:30:50.68\00:30:56.35 to the beginning point and the beginning year 00:30:56.38\00:30:58.85 and historical event that begins this great timeline 00:30:58.89\00:31:01.06 that we're looking at. 00:31:01.09\00:31:02.52 It actually pinpoints when Jesus would arrive on the earth scene 00:31:02.56\00:31:05.56 and Israel's scene as the true Messiah, 00:31:05.59\00:31:07.96 the deliverer of sinful mankind. 00:31:08.00\00:31:11.23 Let's read it again. 00:31:11.27\00:31:12.70 It says, "Know therefore and understand that 00:31:12.73\00:31:14.27 from the going forth of the command to restore 00:31:14.30\00:31:16.14 and build Jerusalem until Messiah the Prince, there 00:31:16.17\00:31:19.61 shall be 7 weeks and 62 weeks." 00:31:19.64\00:31:23.91 Friends, how many weeks is that again? 00:31:23.95\00:31:25.85 Sixty-nine weeks. 00:31:25.88\00:31:27.22 Now I'm going to really test your math. 00:31:27.25\00:31:28.55 What 69 times 7, if we want to convert this to days? 00:31:28.58\00:31:33.39 It's 483 I heard. 00:31:33.42\00:31:34.89 Okay, so somebody said 483 days, and in prophecy, symbolic 00:31:34.92\00:31:39.19 prophecy only, a day represents a literal year, and so we're 00:31:39.23\00:31:42.26 looking at 483 years. 00:31:42.30\00:31:46.53 And so let's do some math. 00:31:46.57\00:31:48.67 If we go at 457 BC, God is saying, "If you start at 457 BC 00:31:48.70\00:31:53.48 and you make your way 483 years into the future, you will 00:31:53.51\00:31:57.95 pinpoint the exact year in which My Son Jesus Christ will arrive 00:31:57.98\00:32:01.48 on the earth scene as the Messiah." 00:32:01.52\00:32:05.49 And so let's do some math. 00:32:05.52\00:32:06.86 If we start in 457 BC and we go 483 years into the future, we 00:32:06.89\00:32:10.73 come to the year 27 AD. 00:32:10.76\00:32:15.23 Now, there's something instrumental that took place 00:32:15.26\00:32:17.43 in the year 27 AD. 00:32:17.47\00:32:19.17 Jesus was baptized. 00:32:19.20\00:32:21.27 He was approximately 30 years of age, okay? 00:32:21.30\00:32:24.21 By the way, I'm not--some of you may be looking 00:32:24.24\00:32:26.17 at the math and going 457 BC, 483 years into the future, 00:32:26.21\00:32:30.21 and you're saying, "Wait a minute, I think Pastor Shawn 00:32:30.25\00:32:31.88 has to go back and take grade three math again, because it 00:32:31.91\00:32:35.25 really should be 26 AD." 00:32:35.28\00:32:38.35 And trust me, I know my math and, you know, I still would 00:32:38.39\00:32:42.89 pass math in grade three, but the fact of the matter is 00:32:42.92\00:32:46.13 that there's a bit of a complication when you take 00:32:46.16\00:32:48.33 a timeline that starts in BC and goes into an AD date, 00:32:48.36\00:32:51.77 and that is the fact that there is no such thing as a 0 AD. 00:32:51.80\00:32:54.54 You can't find 0 AD or BC in any history book. 00:32:54.57\00:32:57.91 Why? 00:32:57.94\00:32:59.24 Because as you come up to 1 BC, the very next year in history 00:32:59.27\00:33:02.61 books is 1 AD. 00:33:02.64\00:33:04.58 And so, but if you just kind of go from Old Testament times 00:33:04.61\00:33:08.75 or pre-BC times to AD and you just do the math directly, you 00:33:08.78\00:33:13.82 actually--when you do that, you actually lose a year because 00:33:13.86\00:33:16.42 it's--your math is assuming there's a 0 year, a year 0, 00:33:16.46\00:33:19.93 which there isn't. 00:33:19.96\00:33:21.26 So if you don't get that, still trust me. 00:33:21.30\00:33:23.50 I know what I'm doing when I say the date is 27 AD, okay? 00:33:23.53\00:33:29.54 So Jesus is baptized in 27 AD, okay? 00:33:29.84\00:33:33.24 The Bible tells us some very powerful things in concern 00:33:33.27\00:33:36.41 to his baptism. 00:33:36.44\00:33:37.78 The Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove 00:33:37.81\00:33:39.31 upon him, okay, and a voice came down from the heavens, saying, 00:33:39.35\00:33:42.65 "This is my Son in whom I'm well pleased." 00:33:42.68\00:33:45.09 Now, as it turns out, the word "Messiah" means anointed one. 00:33:45.12\00:33:48.79 This is a Hebrew title in terms that literally means 00:33:48.82\00:33:51.73 the anointed one and it's equivalent to that of Christ. 00:33:51.76\00:33:54.86 The Greek equivalent to the Hebrew term "Messiah" is 00:33:54.93\00:33:57.83 "Christ," and both of them mean the anointed one. 00:33:57.87\00:34:00.50 And as it turns out, at approximately 30 years of age 00:34:00.54\00:34:02.60 when Jesus went into the River Jordan to be baptized by John 00:34:02.64\00:34:05.31 the Baptist, indeed He was anointed. 00:34:05.34\00:34:08.08 Now, He wasn't anointed with oil as the other kings and prophets 00:34:08.11\00:34:11.45 of the past and priests were anointed when they were 00:34:11.48\00:34:13.82 receiving their particular ministry, but Jesus was anointed 00:34:13.85\00:34:16.79 with a greater anointing and that is the anointing 00:34:16.82\00:34:18.85 of the Holy Spirit. 00:34:18.89\00:34:21.22 And indeed, Acts chapter 10, and verses 37 and 38 say, 00:34:21.26\00:34:25.63 "That word, I say, you know. 00:34:25.66\00:34:27.00 After the baptism which John preached, how God anointed Jesus 00:34:27.03\00:34:30.97 of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power." 00:34:31.00\00:34:35.14 You see, up until 30 years of age, Jesus was the Son of God 00:34:35.17\00:34:38.41 from conception on, amen? 00:34:38.44\00:34:40.41 But He didn't become the Messiah until He was about 30 years 00:34:40.44\00:34:43.55 of age because Messiah literally means the anointed one, and He 00:34:43.58\00:34:47.45 wasn't anointed until He was 30 years of age. 00:34:47.48\00:34:49.55 Once He left the carpentry shop, once He left his hometown 00:34:49.58\00:34:52.25 of Nazareth, walked into the River Jordan, baptized, 00:34:52.29\00:34:54.76 afterward He was anointed with the Holy Spirit, from that 00:34:54.79\00:34:57.46 point on He is now the Messiah. 00:34:57.49\00:35:00.53 And so the fascinating thing about verse 25 is not only does 00:35:00.56\00:35:03.20 it give us the historical event that tells us the beginning date 00:35:03.23\00:35:05.93 of this great time prophecy, but it also tells us the exact 00:35:05.97\00:35:10.07 date 500 plus years before it actually took place in which His 00:35:10.11\00:35:14.71 Son would be baptized and anointed as the Messiah 00:35:14.74\00:35:18.21 of the entire planet. 00:35:18.25\00:35:20.22 Powerful, powerful prophecies that we find here 00:35:20.25\00:35:23.08 as we continue on. 00:35:23.12\00:35:25.65 All right, so let's continue on and do that as we go to verse 00:35:25.69\00:35:28.79 26 now, 'cause God isn't finished pinpointing some 00:35:28.82\00:35:31.29 of the key events surrounding the earthly ministry of Jesus 00:35:31.33\00:35:34.73 Christ Himself. 00:35:34.76\00:35:36.06 Verse 26, it says, "And after the 62 weeks, Messiah 00:35:36.10\00:35:39.33 shall be cut off." 00:35:39.37\00:35:41.44 Now, some of your margins may actually put there, as mine 00:35:41.47\00:35:43.87 does, the translators tell me that particular "cut off" 00:35:43.91\00:35:46.17 in the original Hebrew literally means to suffer the death 00:35:46.21\00:35:49.44 penalty, to be killed, to be executed, okay? 00:35:49.48\00:35:53.52 And after the 62 weeks--now, remember the 62 weeks comes 00:35:53.55\00:35:56.58 after the first 6 weeks, and so we're really 69 weeks 00:35:56.62\00:36:00.36 or 483 years into the 490-year prophecy period that God is 00:36:00.39\00:36:05.39 revealing through his Angel Gabriel. 00:36:05.43\00:36:08.00 So he says, "After the 62 weeks, sometime after Jesus of course 00:36:08.03\00:36:12.07 is anointed as the Messiah, the Messiah shall be cut off. 00:36:12.10\00:36:15.60 He shall suffer the death penalty, but not for Himself." 00:36:15.64\00:36:20.14 And so here we find that the Messiah is cut off, but not 00:36:20.18\00:36:22.38 for Himself. 00:36:22.41\00:36:23.71 Did Jesus deserve to die? 00:36:23.75\00:36:25.18 No, okay? 00:36:25.21\00:36:27.62 Why did Jesus die? 00:36:27.65\00:36:30.35 He died for sinners, didn't he? 00:36:30.39\00:36:31.85 That's why it says in Romans chapter 6 and verse 23, "The 00:36:31.89\00:36:35.22 wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal 00:36:35.26\00:36:38.66 life through Jesus Christ our Lord." 00:36:38.69\00:36:40.66 That's why it says in Romans chapter 3 and verse 23 that all 00:36:40.70\00:36:43.67 have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 00:36:43.70\00:36:45.77 Do we all need Messiah to die for us? 00:36:45.80\00:36:48.34 There isn't a single human being that has ever lived that does 00:36:48.37\00:36:50.87 not need the messiah to die for them, and that's why Jesus 00:36:50.91\00:36:53.38 went to the cross of Calvary and died for the sins 00:36:53.41\00:36:56.18 of the world, that you and I might have cleansing, 00:36:56.21\00:36:57.95 and forgiveness, and hope of eternal life 00:36:57.98\00:37:00.45 with our eternal Savior. 00:37:00.48\00:37:02.45 That's the good news that we find here 00:37:02.48\00:37:04.45 in this particular chapter. 00:37:04.49\00:37:06.49 And so, "After the 62 weeks, Messiah shall be cut off. 00:37:06.52\00:37:08.49 He shall suffer the death penalty, but not for Himself, 00:37:08.52\00:37:11.83 but for sinful humanity. 00:37:11.86\00:37:13.83 And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy 00:37:13.86\00:37:17.17 the city and the sanctuary. 00:37:17.20\00:37:20.47 And indeed, the people of the prince--" 00:37:20.50\00:37:22.17 What prince was ruling when Jesus was on earth? 00:37:22.20\00:37:25.71 Who is the prince of that part of the world, okay? 00:37:25.74\00:37:29.98 Alright, somebody said Titus. 00:37:30.01\00:37:31.35 Well, he was a general for Caesar, okay? 00:37:31.38\00:37:35.08 So the king of the empire in which Jesus actually lived 00:37:35.12\00:37:38.35 when he actually was cut off and died for the sins 00:37:38.39\00:37:40.39 of the world was the people of the prince 00:37:40.42\00:37:42.06 none other than Caesar. 00:37:42.09\00:37:44.09 So here when he says the people of the prince, God is referring 00:37:44.13\00:37:46.23 to none other than the Romans, friends, the Roman Caesar as 00:37:46.26\00:37:49.40 well as the Romans that made up the Roman Empire. 00:37:49.43\00:37:52.17 "And indeed," it says, "shall destroy the city 00:37:52.20\00:37:54.04 and the sanctuary." 00:37:54.07\00:37:55.40 Yes, the sanctuary was eventually rebuilt just shortly 00:37:55.44\00:37:58.31 after Daniel's time in the city of Jerusalem and then existed 00:37:58.34\00:38:02.11 all the way until past Jesus's time, until 70 AD. 00:38:02.14\00:38:05.95 And so here, God is looking into the future and recognizing 00:38:05.98\00:38:10.45 that, indeed, the final and complete destruction, not 00:38:10.49\00:38:13.56 only of Jerusalem but also of the holy sanctuary on earth, 00:38:13.59\00:38:17.19 would take place by the Romans and its prince in 70 AD. 00:38:17.23\00:38:21.20 "And the end of it shall be with a flood until the end 00:38:21.23\00:38:23.20 of the War of Desolations are determined." 00:38:23.23\00:38:24.93 Horrible times when that took place. 00:38:24.97\00:38:29.14 And so let's continue on, okay? 00:38:29.17\00:38:31.01 So we know that sometime after the first 69 weeks, 00:38:31.04\00:38:34.48 after 27 AD, the Messiah would be cut off, but God now is going 00:38:34.51\00:38:38.58 to pinpoint it for us in the very next verse. 00:38:38.61\00:38:41.75 In verse 27, it says, "Then He shall confirm a covenant 00:38:41.78\00:38:44.59 with many for one week." 00:38:44.62\00:38:47.52 Okay, so He shall confirm a covenant. 00:38:47.56\00:38:49.39 Now, when Jesus died on the cross, did He confirm 00:38:49.42\00:38:52.09 a covenant? 00:38:52.13\00:38:53.46 Sure he did, okay? 00:38:53.50\00:38:54.83 Now, "covenant" is synonymous with "testament." 00:38:54.83\00:38:57.07 Now, most of the time we refer to the era before Jesus and his 00:38:57.10\00:39:00.40 death as the Old Testament, and rightly so, and we refer 00:39:00.44\00:39:03.61 to the new era after Jesus died on the cross as the New 00:39:03.64\00:39:06.91 Testament era, because Jesus sealed and confirmed that 00:39:06.94\00:39:10.05 testament on the cross. 00:39:10.08\00:39:12.25 Also, you'll refer--sometimes hear us refer to it as the old 00:39:12.28\00:39:15.95 covenant and as the new covenant, okay? 00:39:15.98\00:39:19.59 "Covenant" and "testament" are synonymous. 00:39:19.62\00:39:21.62 It's important for us to understand. 00:39:21.66\00:39:22.99 "Then He shall confirm a covenant," Jesus did that 00:39:23.02\00:39:25.09 on the cross with His own blood, "with many for one week." 00:39:25.13\00:39:28.93 Well, what week is that? 00:39:28.96\00:39:30.27 Well, there's only one week remaining in the timeline that 00:39:30.30\00:39:32.20 is relating to the Jews. 00:39:32.23\00:39:33.54 And now the ultimate Jew and the most important person 00:39:33.57\00:39:36.44 in all of history, Jesus Christ Himself, has arrived as 00:39:36.47\00:39:39.41 the Messiah. 00:39:39.44\00:39:41.18 And indeed, as we come to verse 27, it's saying that He confirms 00:39:41.21\00:39:43.98 it with His own blood in that final week of this great 00:39:44.01\00:39:47.92 and powerful time prophecy that is relating to the Jewish 00:39:47.95\00:39:50.72 nation, to the Israelite nation. 00:39:50.75\00:39:54.66 It goes on and says, "But in the middle of the week, He 00:39:54.69\00:39:57.33 shall bring an end to sacrifice and to offering." 00:39:57.36\00:40:01.20 And so in the middle of the week, He brings an end 00:40:01.23\00:40:02.96 to sacrifice and to offering. 00:40:03.00\00:40:05.47 Friends, exactly as God had prophesied it, in the middle 00:40:05.50\00:40:09.54 of the week, we find that Jesus brings an end to sacrifice 00:40:09.57\00:40:13.48 and to offerings. 00:40:13.51\00:40:14.84 Why is that? 00:40:14.88\00:40:16.18 Because when Jesus died on the cross, is the sacrifices 00:40:16.21\00:40:19.11 that were offered on the earthly altar relevant anymore 00:40:19.15\00:40:22.45 from that point on? 00:40:22.48\00:40:24.12 No, why is that? 00:40:24.15\00:40:26.22 "Because Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice," 00:40:26.25\00:40:28.49 I hear some of you saying. 00:40:28.52\00:40:30.53 That's right. 00:40:30.56\00:40:31.86 And so when Jesus died on the cross, every other single 00:40:31.89\00:40:33.76 sacrifice of an animal that was related to the--or brought 00:40:33.80\00:40:37.13 to the altar became completely irrelevant, because now the copy 00:40:37.17\00:40:41.50 and the shadow which the sacrificial system on earth 00:40:41.54\00:40:43.67 was at the temple now was fulfilled in the sacrifice which 00:40:43.71\00:40:47.88 is Jesus Christ Himself. 00:40:47.91\00:40:49.31 And so when Jesus died on the cross, it confirmed that 00:40:49.34\00:40:51.81 new covenant, that New Testament. 00:40:51.85\00:40:53.55 In that final week of earth's-- of this great timeline prophecy 00:40:53.58\00:40:56.72 related to Israel, Jesus indeed brought an end to sacrifice 00:40:56.75\00:41:00.79 and to offerings on the altar. 00:41:00.82\00:41:03.99 And so in verse 27, God here is revealing the exact time 00:41:04.03\00:41:08.56 of God's crucifixion. 00:41:08.60\00:41:10.57 That's why John the Baptist, when he saw Jesus coming 00:41:10.60\00:41:13.03 into the Jordan to be baptized and to receive the anointing as 00:41:13.07\00:41:15.87 the Messiah of the planet and of the nation of Israel, 00:41:15.90\00:41:19.07 indeed he said, "Behold the Lamb of God that takes away the sin 00:41:19.11\00:41:23.95 of the world. 00:41:23.98\00:41:25.28 Behold, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin 00:41:25.31\00:41:27.52 of the world." 00:41:27.55\00:41:28.88 Why? 00:41:28.92\00:41:30.22 Because John was starting to comprehend and starting 00:41:30.25\00:41:31.59 to understand that indeed Jesus was the Lamb of God. 00:41:31.62\00:41:34.99 All the lambs that had been sacrificed pointed up to this 00:41:35.02\00:41:37.43 time was now to be fulfilled in the perfect Lamb of God, 00:41:37.46\00:41:40.90 the final and last Lamb of God, which is the Son of God Himself. 00:41:40.93\00:41:46.87 And so if we go--if we come to the end of the 69 weeks 00:41:49.80\00:41:52.84 and we come to that final one week in which versus 26 00:41:52.87\00:41:56.08 and verse 27 are referring to, we find that in the middle 00:41:56.11\00:41:59.48 of the week, Jesus confirms that covenant, 00:41:59.51\00:42:02.25 that new covenant with His own blood. 00:42:02.28\00:42:04.52 He brings an end to sacrifice and offerings. 00:42:04.55\00:42:06.69 Indeed, if we cut seven years in half, we have 00:42:06.72\00:42:10.39 3 1/2 years, don't we? 00:42:10.43\00:42:11.73 And so if we go from 27 AD, and most scholars agree that 00:42:11.76\00:42:14.86 Jesus actually was born in the fall, and so as we come 00:42:14.93\00:42:20.87 to the middle of the final week of His life and also of this 00:42:24.11\00:42:29.64 great timeline, we find that exactly on time 00:42:29.68\00:42:33.05 during the Passover feast itself, the Passover Lamb dies 00:42:33.08\00:42:37.85 in the middle of that week, which is the year 31 AD, 00:42:37.89\00:42:40.86 the spring of 31 AD. 00:42:40.89\00:42:44.33 And so indeed, we have a very, very powerful prophecy that God 00:42:44.36\00:42:47.76 gives to us. 00:42:47.76\00:42:49.10 It is the only time prophecy in all of Scripture that was 00:42:49.13\00:42:51.90 given over 500 years before Jesus ever came onto 00:42:51.93\00:42:55.37 the scene, before these prophecies were ever fulfilled, 00:42:55.40\00:42:58.04 and Jesus fulfilled them perfectly. 00:42:58.07\00:43:00.68 Now, if you've read your quarterly, it was pointing 00:43:00.71\00:43:02.31 out very accurately that that is the reason why Jesus, as soon as 00:43:02.34\00:43:05.88 He came out of the water of the River Jordan at His 00:43:05.91\00:43:10.59 baptism, He's anointed with the Spirit, He spends 40 00:43:10.62\00:43:12.95 days fasting and praying with His Father in the desert, 00:43:12.99\00:43:15.42 and when He comes out of that desert to begin His public 00:43:15.46\00:43:17.76 ministry, the very first words that come out of His mouth is, 00:43:17.79\00:43:20.96 "Repent, for the kingdom of God is at hand 00:43:20.96\00:43:25.23 and the time is fulfilled," why? 00:43:25.27\00:43:28.34 Because Jesus understood that He was fulfilling this powerful 00:43:28.37\00:43:30.51 prophecy that He and His Father had determined 00:43:30.54\00:43:33.11 over 500 years before. 00:43:33.14\00:43:35.48 In fact, the Apostle Peter told us that He and His Father had 00:43:35.51\00:43:37.58 determined this before the foundation 00:43:37.61\00:43:39.18 of the world, but He chose not to reveal it to us in detail 00:43:39.21\00:43:42.92 until He came to Daniel's time, approximately 500 BC. 00:43:42.95\00:43:47.36 Friends, this is powerful, powerful stuff that we're 00:43:47.39\00:43:50.16 looking at here that God has given to us to build our faith, 00:43:50.19\00:43:53.13 to understand that God is sovereign, He has a plan, and He 00:43:53.16\00:43:55.93 is right on time. 00:43:55.96\00:43:58.03 And some of us may say as Seventh-day Adventists, "Well, 00:43:58.07\00:44:00.04 you know, Jesus is taking too long to come." 00:44:00.07\00:44:02.27 It says that we are in the end time. 00:44:02.30\00:44:03.61 We've looked at that again tonight, today, and He still 00:44:03.64\00:44:06.61 hasn't come. 00:44:06.64\00:44:08.38 And so some people get discouraged, but friends, 00:44:08.41\00:44:11.21 God is on track and He is on time. 00:44:11.25\00:44:13.68 He is not caught by surprise by any event that's taking place 00:44:13.72\00:44:16.52 on this planet. 00:44:16.55\00:44:17.85 He knows the exact day and hour in which He will return. 00:44:17.89\00:44:20.46 And friends, He knows exactly what needs to take place 00:44:20.49\00:44:22.66 before that comes. 00:44:22.69\00:44:24.83 And I pray, Father, I pray, friends, that you will continue 00:44:24.86\00:44:28.73 to have that faith in Jesus and have that faith 00:44:28.76\00:44:32.43 in the promise that Jesus is coming soon. 00:44:32.47\00:44:38.21 And so we come to the very last date. 00:44:38.24\00:44:39.77 Now, we've looked at some of the sub-dates that God had 00:44:39.81\00:44:41.78 revealed through His Angel Gabriel in the 9th chapter 00:44:41.81\00:44:45.15 of Daniel chapter 9, but of course this is all 00:44:45.18\00:44:47.95 within the big picture that God had first revealed in the first 00:44:47.98\00:44:51.22 vision or--well, the only vision in which Gabriel is 00:44:51.25\00:44:53.96 referring to, which is Daniel chapter 8, and that is 00:44:53.99\00:44:56.79 the 2,300-year prophecy. 00:44:56.83\00:44:58.83 And of course, we have the same start date, and so we can do 00:44:58.86\00:45:01.90 some quick math. 00:45:01.93\00:45:03.16 And if we start at 457 BC and we go 2,300 years into the future, 00:45:03.20\00:45:07.34 where does that bring us to? 00:45:07.37\00:45:11.61 It brings us to the year 1844. 00:45:11.64\00:45:14.81 Now, friends, I'm going to ask you a very easy, easy question. 00:45:14.84\00:45:17.51 Of course you're all going to get it. 00:45:17.55\00:45:19.21 Has 1844 already come and passed? 00:45:19.25\00:45:23.15 Okay, it already has, hasn't it? 00:45:23.18\00:45:24.89 Okay, told you it was gonna be easy. 00:45:24.92\00:45:26.96 And so 1844 has come and passed. 00:45:26.99\00:45:29.02 What does that tell us, friends? 00:45:29.06\00:45:31.29 It tells us that the time of the end has already begun. 00:45:31.33\00:45:34.76 God has already wrapped-- started wrapping things 00:45:34.83\00:45:37.47 up in heaven. 00:45:37.50\00:45:38.80 As He stepped into that second stage of His ministry 00:45:38.83\00:45:41.54 in the heavenly sanctuary, He stepped into the most holy 00:45:41.57\00:45:44.37 place, and He began to cleanse the sanctuary. 00:45:44.41\00:45:48.01 It started in 1844. 00:45:48.04\00:45:49.44 The 2,300 year prophecy, the last, and final, 00:45:49.48\00:45:52.51 and longest-reaching prophecy in all of Scripture 00:45:52.55\00:45:56.05 has now been fulfilled. 00:45:56.08\00:45:58.09 Friends, we are that close to the second coming of Jesus. 00:45:58.12\00:46:00.42 We are literally in the final stage of the plan of salvation 00:46:00.46\00:46:05.29 here upon this planet. 00:46:05.33\00:46:06.63 The final stage that's leading up to Jesus coming in glory 00:46:06.66\00:46:09.86 and in judgment to deliver his people for all of eternity. 00:46:09.90\00:46:15.00 And so, friends, Daniel is telling us very clearly and very 00:46:15.04\00:46:18.24 powerfully that ever since the year 1844, we have 00:46:18.27\00:46:21.24 been living in what the Bible calls God's judgement hour. 00:46:21.28\00:46:24.48 Now, there's a parallel prophecy that's found in Revelation 00:46:24.51\00:46:26.92 chapter 14, in verse 6 and 7. 00:46:26.95\00:46:28.75 It's the first angel's message. 00:46:28.78\00:46:30.12 Many of us are familiar with it. 00:46:30.15\00:46:32.12 And that particular message is not relevant until the year 00:46:32.15\00:46:36.12 1844, the conclusion of the 2,300 prophecy-- 00:46:36.16\00:46:38.99 2,300-year prophecy in 1844. 00:46:39.03\00:46:41.56 Why is that? 00:46:41.60\00:46:43.60 Why is that? 00:46:44.40\00:46:45.73 Because it tells us that there is a judgment hour that will 00:46:45.77\00:46:48.07 finally come upon the planet. 00:46:48.10\00:46:49.97 "I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having 00:46:50.01\00:46:52.87 the everlasting gospel to preach to all those who dwell 00:46:52.91\00:46:56.75 on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people, 00:46:56.78\00:46:59.01 saying with a loud voice, 'Fear God and give glory to Him, 00:46:59.05\00:47:02.98 for the hour of His judgment has come.'" 00:47:03.02\00:47:07.49 Now, friends, you cannot claim that His judgment has come 00:47:07.52\00:47:10.29 until it has come, right? 00:47:10.33\00:47:12.96 Okay, so in 1843, has His judgment come yet? 00:47:12.99\00:47:15.90 In 1600, had His judgment come yet? 00:47:15.93\00:47:17.90 No, His judgement hour doesn't arrive until the conclusion 00:47:17.93\00:47:20.90 of the 2,300-year prophecy, which has already taken place. 00:47:20.94\00:47:24.71 Friends, we can clearly and confidently know 00:47:24.74\00:47:27.81 and proclaim before the world and to ourselves that 00:47:27.84\00:47:31.18 the judgment hour has come. 00:47:31.21\00:47:32.78 There is a judgment process that is taking place that is 00:47:32.81\00:47:35.98 intricately involved in that of the judgment hour--I mean, 00:47:36.02\00:47:39.79 that of the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary. 00:47:39.82\00:47:43.73 This is the grand day of atonement. 00:47:43.76\00:47:45.99 Now, we have to remember the day of atonement that took place 00:47:46.03\00:47:48.00 in the Old Testament earthly sanctuary was none but a copy 00:47:48.03\00:47:52.27 and a shadow of a greater day of atonement that would take 00:47:52.30\00:47:54.90 place in heaven. 00:47:54.94\00:47:56.37 And that great day of atonement is taking place now. 00:47:56.40\00:47:58.87 Now, the Jews understood very clearly in ancient times that 00:47:58.91\00:48:01.74 the day of atonement was the great day of judgment 00:48:01.78\00:48:03.98 and reckoning. 00:48:04.01\00:48:05.25 It was the one day in which they were to search their souls more 00:48:05.28\00:48:07.75 clearly and deeply than they ever have before. 00:48:07.78\00:48:10.35 It was the one day in which all the records of the sins 00:48:10.39\00:48:12.95 in the previous ceremonial year was to be washed away 00:48:12.99\00:48:15.96 and cleansed. 00:48:15.99\00:48:17.29 And they needed to make sure that every sin was confessed. 00:48:17.33\00:48:19.53 They needed to make sure that all their heart was given 00:48:19.56\00:48:21.76 before their Lord so that when the high priest that one day, 00:48:21.80\00:48:25.07 one day a year, walked into the most holy place, 00:48:25.10\00:48:27.64 the only person that was allowed to come before the Shekinah 00:48:27.67\00:48:30.14 glory and throne of God Himself, he was to take all the sins 00:48:30.17\00:48:34.41 of Israel out of the sanctuary and to cleanse that sanctuary 00:48:34.44\00:48:37.98 from all of the previous year's sins. 00:48:38.01\00:48:40.45 And friends, now on a grander scale, Jesus Christ Himself is 00:48:40.48\00:48:44.29 the High Priest that is working for us. 00:48:44.32\00:48:45.82 He is the Priest now that goes and has walked into the Holy 00:48:45.85\00:48:48.79 place, and He is asking us and telling us that we need 00:48:48.82\00:48:53.83 to confess every sin that we have ever committed that we are 00:48:53.86\00:48:56.90 conscious of and pray that God will not only forgive us, but He 00:48:56.93\00:49:00.74 will continue to give us more and more victory over that sin 00:49:00.77\00:49:04.54 that we might be ready when Jesus comes back again. 00:49:04.57\00:49:07.71 Daniel chapter 7, verse 9 and 10. 00:49:07.74\00:49:11.21 We're coming to the conclusion of our study here, but let's go 00:49:11.25\00:49:13.42 to Daniel chapter 7 verse 9 and 10, because in that 00:49:13.45\00:49:15.92 particular vision, Daniel was actually given a heavenly 00:49:15.95\00:49:18.62 glimpse of what is taking place in the cleansing of this 00:49:18.65\00:49:22.12 particular sanctuary. 00:49:22.16\00:49:23.99 And by the way, Daniel chapter 7 is parallel with that 00:49:24.03\00:49:26.93 of the vision of Daniel chapter 2, as well as the vision that we 00:49:26.96\00:49:30.83 studied last week in Daniel chapter 8. 00:49:30.87\00:49:32.97 These are all parallel visions that are looking at the same 00:49:33.00\00:49:36.44 rise and fall of the different empires. 00:49:36.47\00:49:39.14 And as we come to the conclusion of Daniel chapter 7, we find 00:49:39.17\00:49:42.44 indeed that there is a judgment process that takes place at its 00:49:42.48\00:49:46.58 conclusion just before Jesus comes. 00:49:46.61\00:49:49.35 In Daniel chapter 8 and 9, that particular judgment process is 00:49:49.38\00:49:53.36 symbolized by the cleansing of the sanctuary. 00:49:53.39\00:49:58.09 Verses 9 and 10, he says, "I watched while thrones were put 00:49:58.13\00:50:00.76 in place and the Ancient of Days was seated, and His garment was 00:50:00.80\00:50:03.87 white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool. 00:50:03.90\00:50:07.14 His throne was a fiery flame and its wheels a burning fire." 00:50:07.17\00:50:11.21 This is none other than God the Father Himself on His 00:50:11.24\00:50:13.81 judgment throne. 00:50:13.84\00:50:15.14 "A fiery stream issued and came forth before Him and thousands 00:50:15.18\00:50:19.38 thousands ministered to him. 00:50:19.41\00:50:21.32 Ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him." 00:50:21.35\00:50:25.02 These are millions and billions of angels that are making 00:50:25.05\00:50:28.12 up the jury. 00:50:28.16\00:50:29.46 "And the court was seated and the books were opened." 00:50:29.49\00:50:32.59 Does that sound like a judgment scene, friends? 00:50:32.63\00:50:34.66 Sure it is. 00:50:34.73\00:50:36.03 This is the literal judgment process that began its place 00:50:36.06\00:50:39.50 and its work in 1844. 00:50:39.53\00:50:42.27 In 1844, the entire population of heaven began to be involved 00:50:42.30\00:50:46.27 not only in working in our salvation as they're coming back 00:50:46.31\00:50:49.08 and forth between heaven and the earth, but they're also 00:50:49.11\00:50:51.61 very busy looking at the records of every single human being 00:50:51.65\00:50:54.85 that's ever lived and to see if their faith was sincere. 00:50:54.88\00:51:00.52 Was their faith sincere? 00:51:00.56\00:51:02.12 Did they truly confess all of their sin before the feet 00:51:02.16\00:51:05.29 of Jesus? 00:51:05.33\00:51:06.66 Have they truly found themselves cleansed by the blood 00:51:06.70\00:51:09.93 of the Lamb? 00:51:09.96\00:51:12.10 And for those who had a sincere faith and the records prove it 00:51:12.13\00:51:14.97 beyond a doubt to every person in that jury, every angel, Jesus 00:51:15.00\00:51:18.94 rises up with His nail-pierced hands and says, "I stand 00:51:18.97\00:51:22.38 in place of this particular believer, of this human being, 00:51:22.41\00:51:27.32 and his name continues to be written in the book of life." 00:51:27.35\00:51:30.99 Friends, this is the great news that this powerful prophecy is 00:51:31.02\00:51:35.12 giving to you and I. 00:51:35.16\00:51:36.89 This prophecy and process is taking place right now. 00:51:36.93\00:51:40.63 And the Bible says there's only two sides that we can find 00:51:40.66\00:51:43.20 ourselves in. 00:51:43.23\00:51:44.53 We can be in the camp of Jesus. 00:51:44.57\00:51:46.03 Jesus says, "Either you're with Me or you're against Me." 00:51:46.07\00:51:49.74 Jesus made it very clear, there is no fence in between. 00:51:49.77\00:51:52.27 Sometimes the devil convinces us that we can find a fence and we 00:51:52.31\00:51:55.08 can kinda straddle between the two and sit 00:51:55.11\00:51:56.85 on the top. 00:51:56.88\00:51:58.21 No, there is no fence. 00:51:58.25\00:51:59.55 Jesus says, "Either with Me or you're against Me." 00:51:59.58\00:52:02.15 There are only two camps Jesus says when he comes back in glory 00:52:02.18\00:52:06.29 and in judgment. 00:52:06.32\00:52:07.62 Because at the end of this process when Jesus comes, 00:52:07.66\00:52:09.76 everybody's eternal fate has already been decided. 00:52:09.79\00:52:13.43 When Jesus comes, there's no more opportunity to be able 00:52:13.46\00:52:15.96 to confess our sins and find salvation in Jesus Christ. 00:52:16.00\00:52:19.90 And that's why the Bible says, 00:52:19.93\00:52:21.47 "Behold, now is the acceptable time. 00:52:21.50\00:52:23.81 Behold, today is the day of salvation," because Jesus 00:52:23.84\00:52:26.61 wants us to be able to be ready when He comes. 00:52:26.64\00:52:29.01 He wants our name to be written in the Lamb's book of life 00:52:29.04\00:52:31.91 before He comes because He knows when it comes 00:52:31.95\00:52:33.85 it will be too late. 00:52:33.88\00:52:36.79 "When Jesus comes, He will not come as a babe, but He will lay 00:52:36.82\00:52:39.75 aside his priestly robe and He will put on the robes 00:52:39.79\00:52:42.62 of the King of kings and Lord of lords. 00:52:42.66\00:52:46.06 And he who is filthy, let him be filthy still," the last chapter 00:52:46.09\00:52:49.30 of Revelation tells us. 00:52:49.33\00:52:52.33 "But he who is just, let him be just still. 00:52:52.37\00:52:54.40 He who is righteous, let him be righteous still." 00:52:54.44\00:52:58.31 And when Jesus comes, He has a reward to give to everyone 00:52:58.34\00:53:01.11 according to his work. 00:53:01.14\00:53:03.71 Is your heart with Jesus today? 00:53:03.75\00:53:05.58 Before your case is decided, friends, I want to encourage you 00:53:05.61\00:53:08.68 to make that decision for Him. 00:53:08.72\00:53:12.65 So that concludes a very powerful truth and prophesy that 00:53:12.69\00:53:16.29 God has given to us. 00:53:16.32\00:53:17.66 I pray, God, that--to God that not only will you come to see 00:53:17.69\00:53:21.86 it, but if you have not responded and accept Jesus 00:53:21.90\00:53:24.13 Christ as your Savior, that you will accept Him even right now 00:53:24.17\00:53:28.54 and that you'll say, "Lord, I want You to be my Lord 00:53:28.57\00:53:31.71 and my Savior. 00:53:31.74\00:53:33.07 I want You in my heart. 00:53:33.11\00:53:34.41 I want to confess all my sins before You, knowing that You are 00:53:34.44\00:53:35.78 the only mediator between God and between man, and that it is 00:53:35.81\00:53:40.75 only through the blood of Jesus Christ that we can be cleansed 00:53:40.78\00:53:43.35 of all our sin." 00:53:43.39\00:53:45.45 1 John chapter 1, and verse 7 tells us 00:53:45.49\00:53:48.62 that powerful gospel truth. 00:53:48.66\00:53:49.96 Have you accepted the blood of Jesus? 00:53:49.99\00:53:51.33 Is Jesus your Lord and your Savior? 00:53:51.36\00:53:55.10 That's the important conclusion. 00:53:55.13\00:53:57.17 That's the most important message that comes from this 00:53:57.20\00:53:59.73 powerful truth and prophecy line that we have looked at 00:53:59.77\00:54:02.44 here today. 00:54:02.47\00:54:03.81 Let's pray. 00:54:03.84\00:54:05.14 Father in heaven, I want to thank You for the opportunity 00:54:05.17\00:54:06.61 to be able to look at Your Scriptures. 00:54:06.64\00:54:09.28 And I want to pray for each and every person that is either 00:54:09.31\00:54:11.18 watching or is here in the room here today, that if they haven't 00:54:11.21\00:54:14.68 made a decision for You that they will make it for You even 00:54:14.72\00:54:17.29 right now, that they will accept You as their Lord and as their 00:54:17.32\00:54:21.32 Savior, the great High Priest in heaven that they can--You, 00:54:21.36\00:54:24.59 Jesus, can stand up before the great angelic jury 00:54:24.63\00:54:27.76 and before the Father and say, "My sacrifice is sufficient. 00:54:27.83\00:54:32.17 This is My child, My son, My daughter," and that their name 00:54:32.20\00:54:36.77 will be written in the Lamb's book of life. 00:54:36.81\00:54:38.91 In Jesus's name do we pray these things, God, amen. 00:54:38.94\00:54:42.78 Well, for those of you who are watching, don't forget to take 00:54:42.81\00:54:45.35 advantage of our free offer that we have. 00:56:26.72\00:56:29.38 in history. 00:56:29.42\00:56:30.75 I happen to be standing here in Taveuni, Fiji, one 00:56:30.79\00:56:33.46 of the only places in the world where the international Meridian 00:56:33.49\00:56:36.86 Dateline runs through a piece of land. 00:56:36.89\00:56:39.83 People have not always been able to play with time this way. 00:56:39.86\00:56:42.96 Back in 1878, Sir Sanford Fleming, a Canadian, he 00:56:43.00\00:56:46.94 recommended to the science community of the world that 00:56:46.97\00:56:49.77 the globe be divided in 24 even segments, each separated by 00:56:49.80\00:56:54.58 15 degrees of longitude, that would establish 00:56:54.61\00:56:57.48 the international time system. 00:56:57.51\00:56:59.85 In 1884, there was a Prime Meridian conference held 00:56:59.88\00:57:02.58 in Washington DC to standardize time and select the point 00:57:02.62\00:57:06.59 for the Prime Meridian, which would be 0 degrees on the globe. 00:57:06.62\00:57:10.66 It ended up being Greenwich, England, but that's 00:57:10.69\00:57:12.93 not where we are. 00:57:12.96\00:57:14.56 We are on the polar opposite side of the planet right now, 00:57:14.60\00:57:16.80 but we're gonna step into the future. 00:57:16.83\00:57:18.40 Want to come? 00:57:18.43\00:57:20.87 And look at that, the Lord is still with us even here. 00:57:20.90\00:57:23.84 He'll continue to take care of you, friends, 00:57:23.87\00:57:25.47 wherever you go. 00:57:25.51\00:57:27.48 Friends, do you sometimes worry about the future? 00:57:27.51\00:57:28.94 What will you eat? 00:57:28.98\00:57:30.31 Will you have a home? 00:57:30.35\00:57:31.65 Are you going to still have your job? 00:57:31.68\00:57:33.38 What will you wear? 00:57:33.42\00:57:34.72 Jesus tells us in Matthew chapter 6, verse 25 to 34, 00:57:34.75\00:57:38.95 "Don't take thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow will 00:57:38.99\00:57:41.36 take thought for the things of itself." 00:57:41.39\00:57:43.29 He tells us that He feeds the birds and He clothes 00:57:43.32\00:57:46.19 the flowers, He'll take care of us. 00:57:46.23\00:57:48.43 We know that God will watch over us. 00:57:48.46\00:57:50.37 He forgives the past, He promises to be with us 00:57:50.40\00:57:53.77 in the present, and He will continue to lead us 00:57:53.80\00:57:56.30 in the future. 00:57:56.34\00:57:57.67 But you've just got to give yourself to Him. 00:57:57.71\00:57:59.51 I invite you to do that right now. 00:57:59.54\00:58:02.48 ¤¤¤ 00:58:02.51\00:58:12.49 ¤¤¤ 00:58:12.52\00:58:17.49 ¤¤¤ 00:58:17.53\00:58:25.50
