there will be a resurrection

experience around you.

And so, you know,
this lesson doesn't focus

a lot on that principle

that the return of
the Lord is not a secret.

When I first became a
Christian and I worshipped

with a lot of my evangelical,

and people were
going to disappear.

And I said, "You know, I'm just
not seeing that in the Bible.

I see that when the Lord
comes that it's earth shaking,

that it's like a roar,
00:09:18.45\00:09:19.89
it says the
cities are broken down
00:09:19.89\00:09:21.19
by His presence, it's
going to be like lightning,
00:09:21.19\00:09:23.69
shining from the
east to the west.

Any of you have ever
been in a lightning storm?
00:09:26.56\00:09:31.73
Now we don't have
them in California
00:09:31.73\00:09:33.17
like they have in the plains.

But I remember in Texas,

there's no mountains to
block your visibility there.

There would be
lightning from sky to sky,

and you could close your eyes

and put your
pillow over your head

and you'd still see the flash.

what I'm talking about?

It was so bright,
and it would scare me

because you'd hear a pop
right outside your window.

We used to have them
in Florida, very loud,

and I was in a bunk
there at the summer camp,

and the lightning was so close

that everybody
touching the bed got shocked,

obviously, it didn't kill me.

But you could feel it, it
was electricity in the air.

Well, this is like lightning
00:10:13.07\00:10:14.94
from one side of
the sky to the other,

there's nothing secret
about when Jesus comes.

So there are hundreds
of prophecies in the Bible

that talk about
the coming of the Lord,

and it's kind of sad, you know,
00:10:28.09\00:10:29.19
you can go to some
churches and some denominations,
00:10:29.19\00:10:31.43
you can go for 50 years
00:10:31.43\00:10:32.43
and never hear a
sermon on the Second Coming.

And they almost
think, it's too sensational,

but the Bible talks about it
and we ought to talk about it

because what if
Jesus didn't come?

What kind of
world would this be?

Isn't that the blessed hope?

That's the most climatic event.

This world is not going to go
on forever the way you see it.

Now in the Bible, you have

a lot of Old
Testament prophecies

that talk about the
Second Coming of Jesus.

They do not always refer
to it as the Second Coming,

that's often called,
"The Day of the Lord".

And in many ways
and times and cases,
00:11:07.10\00:11:09.23
it's a frightening event,
it seems a little ominous.

We're going to look
at some of those verses.

The Day of the Lord

different derivatives of that.

before the coming of that great
and awesome day of the Lord."

Lord, what's that talking about?

Second Coming of
Jesus, see, end of days.

Isaiah 13:6-7,

"Wail, for the day
of the Lord is at hand.

It will come as
destruction from the Almighty.

Therefore, all
hands will be limp

Now some are thinking,

But it's that way
in the New Testament

tribes of the earth will mourn,

and they will see the
sign of the Son of Man

coming in the clouds of heaven."

Why does it make it
sound ominous and frightening
00:12:11.23\00:12:14.46
and not always positive?

Will more people
be saved or lost?

It's sad but most people,

broad is the way
that leads to destruction.

Most people reject
Jesus which is so sad

'cause He paid
for everybody's sins.

And so it's a
warning, God is warning people,

you need to repent of your sins,

this day is going to
be a frightening thing.

You know, Amos is
prepared to meet the Lord.

You can go to the New Testament,

There's only one

'Behold, the Lord comes

was he talking about?

said, "The kingdom of God

Part of the kingdom of God
begins when you accept Jesus,

and He reigns in
your heart as your King.

That's the
internal kingdom of God.

Is that where it stops?

A lot of churches stop there.

But what good is it

stays internal kingdom

a literal King of the world.

you read in Genesis,

condition of things before sin?

God says, "Good,
good, good, good."

finally says, "Very good."

God's perfect plan?

some people think,
