wreath representing the sun.

Then we went on to study

And we noticed that a nation

whose emblem is the
eagle, the United States,

eventually some day is
going to impose by force of law

the observance of the day

might be thinking

possible in the United States?

Because it happened once before

Sunday law was proposed

and very seriously talked about

united with Catholics

back in the 1880s.

So this scenario is
not just a possibility,

it has already taken place once

in the history of
the United States.

we are going to study

of the United States today,

not only the Protestant churches

which is fulfilling
what we've studied last time

and what we are going
to study this evening.

Now somebody might ask,

why wasn't a National Sunday law

actually enacted
in the year 1888?

I believe there are two reasons.

Reason number one has
to do with the church.

And secondly, the
second reason has to do

with the condition of the world.

You see the church was not ready

for a National
Sunday law to be given

and the world
was not ready either

because they were
certain prophetic events

that needed to transpire
before a National Sunday law

could be enacted
in the United States.

Now allow me to mention,

first of all a
very important event

that many perhaps
have never heard of.

In the year 1888,
specifically October 17

through November 4 of that year

in the city of
Minneapolis, Minnesota,
00:05:09.88\00:05:13.43
a very important session
of the General Conference
00:05:13.46\00:05:17.83
of the Seventh-day
Adventist Church took place.
00:05:17.86\00:05:22.19
It's interesting
that true pastors
00:05:22.22\00:05:24.84
spearheaded the
preaching at that conference.
00:05:24.87\00:05:28.27
Their names were
Pastors Jones and Waggoner.
00:05:28.30\00:05:33.62
It's interesting to
notice that Ellen White
00:05:33.65\00:05:36.15
who was present
there at that congress
00:05:36.18\00:05:40.57
actually said that the
latter rain began to fall
00:05:40.60\00:05:44.65
there at the
Minneapolis Conference in 1888.

She also says that the
loud cry of the third angel
00:05:47.90\00:05:52.09
which is
mentioned in Revelation 18
00:05:52.12\00:05:54.55
began to be heard
there with the message
00:05:54.58\00:05:57.64
that was proclaimed in 1888.

And yet, what began was
not carried on to fruition.

In fact, God was planning
to bring about the great,

greatest revival in
the history of the church
00:06:11.03\00:06:14.07
within the Seventh-day
Adventist Church at that time.

But unfortunately, the
church was not prepared,
00:06:17.87\00:06:21.96
was not ready to
receive the latter rain
00:06:21.99\00:06:25.01
and to proclaim the
loud cry with great power.
00:06:25.04\00:06:30.24
I would also like to mention

that events in
the world at that time
00:06:31.85\00:06:35.13
were not ripe
for the fulfillment
00:06:35.16\00:06:37.87
of the prophecies of Daniel and
Revelation in their fullness.

There were
certain prophetic events
00:06:42.38\00:06:44.08
which we're going to
notice in our study today
00:06:44.11\00:06:46.30
that needed to transpire
before this National Sunday law
00:06:46.33\00:06:52.04
could be written and enacted
in the United States of America.

Allow me first of all to
read you a couple of statements

from the writings of Ellen White

where she speaks about
what happened in Minneapolis.

You see the

And that's the reason why
the latter rain which began

could not finish its work

which started to be given

its fullest power.

before the world

sins of the whole world.

It presented justification
through faith in the Surety,

it invited the people to receive
the righteousness of Christ."

Now notice this,
this is important.

the righteousness of
Christ which is made manifest

Receiving the

was unprepared to receive it.

already be in the kingdom

simply accepted this message.

we find this statement about
what took place in Minneapolis.

and strengthens them to pass

God had amazing things
prepared for His people

but His people were unprepared
to receive the message.

In fact, those who
have studied the history

of what happened in Minneapolis
will notice the sad story

of how the messages
of Jones and Waggoner

were rejected to a
great degree in the church.

And so God had to put
the outpouring of His Spirit
00:10:39.72\00:10:43.10
and the proclamation
of the loud cry on hold
00:10:43.13\00:10:47.49
and the events in the world
00:10:47.52\00:10:49.44
were also put on
hold for a season.

to share with you

scenario of End Time Events

which represents the
Roman Catholic papacy.

So Ellen White drawing

has made it very
clear that in the end time,

the United States
will embrace the idea,

the Roman Catholic idea
of uniting church and state

to impose religious observances.

Another thing which
Ellen White mentions

and which is
contained as well in scripture

is the fact that
the Protestant churches

of the United States will unite
00:12:20.80\00:12:23.61
on points of doctrine
which they have in common.

In fact, the Book of
Revelation makes it clear

that all of the
religious organizations

are going to unite.

They're not going
to form in one church,

but they're
actually going to unite

on the points that
they have in common.

They're gonna
have a common agenda

on what they agree on.

And so Ellen White is
very clear that Protestantism

is going to unite
in the United States.

Another point which she mentions

is that there is
going to be great

social turmoil in
the United States.

Natural disasters,
social unrest, problems, crime,

you know, things,
problems like with drugs

and alcohol and so on.

And she says that these things

are going to lead
the powers that be

to blame God's remnant people
for the maladies of society.

This isn't anything
new, it's found in the Bible.

In Elijah's day, Elijah
was blamed for the problems.

When Nero burned
the city of Rome,

he blamed the Christians.

We notice also that
in Matthew Chapter 24

after mentioning
wars and rumors of wars,

disasters, pestilence,
hunger, we're told that then

God's people were
going to be persecuted

as those who were
causing these evils.

And so Ellen White is
simply agreeing with scripture

that God's people
are going to be blamed

for what is
happening in the world.

Another thing which

is that the legislators

favor of the populous,

who are
dangerous to have around,

they don't obey your laws
and if you keep them around,

gonna fall apart."

And so the king
without reflection he says,

to the religious leaders
