Okay, we are still in Revelation chapter 6... 00:00:31.66\00:00:34.03 we are going to summarize the message of the four horses 00:00:34.06\00:00:37.67 and then we're going to look at an incredible parable 00:00:37.70\00:00:41.04 that parallels... a parable that parallels... 00:00:41.07\00:00:45.01 a parallely parable... 00:00:45.04\00:00:46.54 All: laughter... 00:00:46.57\00:00:47.91 Jason: Tongue twister... Yvonne: A tongue twister... 00:00:47.94\00:00:50.65 James: I just say a lot... 00:00:50.71\00:00:52.28 so we're going to look at the four horses 00:00:52.31\00:00:54.68 in relation to a parable that Jesus gave 00:00:54.72\00:00:56.99 in Matthew chapter 13 of the sower and the seed 00:00:57.02\00:00:58.95 and we're going to see some incredible connections 00:00:58.99\00:01:00.82 that take place there, so this is just a summary... I'm just... 00:01:00.86\00:01:04.83 I'm believing that as we've gone through this 00:01:04.86\00:01:06.66 you guys have said, "Yeah, that makes sense 00:01:06.70\00:01:08.23 yeah that makes sense, yeah that makes sense... 00:01:08.26\00:01:09.80 let me rephrase the white horse, let me rephrase the red horse, 00:01:09.83\00:01:14.04 let me rephrase this dark horse, let me rephrase the pale horse 00:01:14.07\00:01:17.27 and just summarize a couple of points that I got out of that 00:01:17.31\00:01:21.04 and then we'll just blow it up with this parable... parallel... 00:01:21.08\00:01:24.11 okay, let's start with a word of prayer, 00:01:24.15\00:01:25.58 Jason, pray for us would you? 00:01:25.61\00:01:26.95 Jason: Sure, "Dear Heavenly Father, 00:01:26.98\00:01:28.32 thank you for another chance to study your word, Lord, 00:01:28.38\00:01:31.45 please be with us, lead and guide our discussion 00:01:31.49\00:01:34.09 as we go over Revelation, in Jesus' name we pray, amen. " 00:01:34.12\00:01:36.83 All: "Amen... " 00:01:36.86\00:01:38.19 James: Okay, so we've got this white horse 00:01:38.23\00:01:39.59 coming forth in the first seal, it goes forth... it says... 00:01:39.66\00:01:42.43 "and he that sat on him had a bow; 00:01:42.46\00:01:44.50 a crown was given unto him, 00:01:44.53\00:01:45.87 he went forth conquering, and to conquer," 00:01:45.90\00:01:47.24 give us a couple of sentences on that, tell us what it means. 00:01:47.27\00:01:49.54 Jason: So the white horse has to do with Christ 00:01:49.60\00:01:52.27 and His people and so 00:01:52.31\00:01:54.04 when it says "conquering and to conquer" 00:01:54.08\00:01:57.21 so when Christ... when you accept Christ into your life 00:01:57.25\00:02:01.15 and He takes over... and it's a daily surrender 00:02:01.18\00:02:05.65 and so He continues to conquer. 00:02:05.69\00:02:07.12 James: Amen... 00:02:07.16\00:02:08.49 Jason: Then... we have the black horse... 00:02:08.52\00:02:11.13 James: Wait right there... no, no, no, no, no... 00:02:11.19\00:02:13.80 you're pulling out there, you're on a roll aren't you? 00:02:13.83\00:02:15.70 We've got to interrupt that roll... 00:02:15.73\00:02:17.57 we're going to interrupt that roll 00:02:17.60\00:02:18.93 and we're going into the red horse and it says here, 00:02:18.97\00:02:21.10 in Revelation chapter 6 and verse 4, 00:02:21.14\00:02:23.10 "And there went out another horse that was red: 00:02:23.14\00:02:25.51 and power was given to him that sat thereon 00:02:25.54\00:02:27.88 to take peace from the earth, 00:02:27.91\00:02:29.24 that they should kill one another: 00:02:29.28\00:02:30.61 and there was given unto him a great sword. " 00:02:30.65\00:02:33.18 Yvonne: What did I do with my notes, 00:02:33.21\00:02:35.42 I'm looking for my notes here feverishly... 00:02:35.45\00:02:37.42 James: Awww... you don't need notes... 00:02:37.45\00:02:39.65 Yvonne: Awww see, easy for you all to say, I know, 00:02:39.69\00:02:42.69 well, the bottom line is that that red... 00:02:42.72\00:02:45.89 equals the dragon or persecuting power 00:02:45.93\00:02:49.06 and it also, we think of red... we think of blood... 00:02:49.10\00:02:53.74 we think of the blood of the saints, 00:02:53.80\00:02:56.50 we think of the church that is associated with... 00:02:56.54\00:03:00.11 with this horse... or the... corresponding... 00:03:00.14\00:03:03.55 and that would by Smyrna, right, and that... 00:03:03.61\00:03:06.98 there was persecution with Smyrna... 00:03:07.02\00:03:09.85 and so, that's what we think of 00:03:09.88\00:03:13.82 when we think of the red... that power... 00:03:13.86\00:03:16.66 and... you know what's interesting to me, 00:03:16.73\00:03:19.46 you guys... too... is that the correlation here 00:03:19.49\00:03:22.76 with the Sanctuary, the Table of Shewbread... 00:03:22.80\00:03:25.93 the "sitting on the north... " because the great controversy 00:03:25.97\00:03:31.67 between God and Satan is ever present 00:03:31.71\00:03:35.18 in these verses to me so when we're looking for 00:03:35.21\00:03:40.15 the great controversy also in the verses we see 00:03:40.18\00:03:44.22 that... you know... the red... equals the dragon 00:03:44.25\00:03:48.26 and persecuting the people of God... 00:03:48.29\00:03:50.66 so to me... that's very... 00:03:50.69\00:03:52.46 James: Yeah, trying to take the place of God... 00:03:52.49\00:03:54.33 trying to take the seat of God, 00:03:54.36\00:03:55.93 trying to be in the sides of the north 00:03:55.96\00:03:57.53 and get the people to his side... 00:03:57.57\00:03:59.53 and he uses persecution to do that, 00:03:59.57\00:04:01.44 that's one of the first ways he uses to do that, 00:04:01.47\00:04:03.27 okay, what's our next horse, 00:04:03.30\00:04:04.77 can you read the next verse for us, Ivor? 00:04:04.81\00:04:07.14 Black horse... 00:04:07.18\00:04:08.81 Ivor: 6:5... it says, 00:04:08.84\00:04:12.68 "And when he had opened the third seal, 00:04:12.71\00:04:14.45 I heard the third beast say, Come and see. 00:04:14.48\00:04:16.18 And I beheld, and lo a black horse: 00:04:16.22\00:04:19.39 and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. 00:04:19.42\00:04:22.62 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, 00:04:22.69\00:04:25.86 A measure of wheat for a penny, 00:04:25.89\00:04:27.50 and three measures of barley for a penny, 00:04:27.53\00:04:30.27 and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. " 00:04:30.30\00:04:32.83 James: All right, Jason, what you got? 00:04:32.87\00:04:35.67 Jason: Man! see we should have done this, like two minutes ago. 00:04:35.70\00:04:39.37 All: Laughter... 00:04:39.41\00:04:42.41 Jason: All right, So the black horse represents compromise 00:04:42.44\00:04:45.31 and false balances and then you have... 00:04:45.35\00:04:49.25 it says the wheat and barley represented the bread of life 00:04:49.28\00:04:58.39 which is the Word of God 00:04:58.43\00:05:00.23 and for a penny... which I believe we stated that 00:05:00.26\00:05:05.60 that was like a day's wages so it made it hard 00:05:05.63\00:05:10.97 for people to get the Word of God 00:05:11.01\00:05:12.61 and there was like a famine pretty much, that's what I got. 00:05:12.64\00:05:17.45 James: Good stuff... and oil and wine representing 00:05:17.48\00:05:20.55 those who were filled with the Holy Spirit 00:05:20.58\00:05:22.68 trusting the blood of Christ they were... 00:05:22.72\00:05:24.75 and that's going to take us into the pale horse 00:05:24.79\00:05:26.55 because you got people trusting the blood 00:05:26.59\00:05:28.19 and the pale horse comes and looks like it's... 00:05:28.22\00:05:30.06 Yvonne, what does it look like, tell us. 00:05:30.09\00:05:31.69 Yvonne: okay... 00:05:31.76\00:05:33.09 James: Oh, let's read the verse first... 00:05:33.13\00:05:34.56 Yvonne: Okay... you want me to read it? James: Go ahead... 00:05:34.60\00:05:36.63 Yvonne: So we're in Revelation 6 verse 8, 00:05:36.67\00:05:39.60 "And I looked, and behold a pale horse: 00:05:39.63\00:05:42.10 and his name that sat on him was Death, 00:05:42.14\00:05:44.57 and Hell followed with him. 00:05:44.61\00:05:46.31 And power was given unto them 00:05:46.34\00:05:47.98 over the fourth part of the earth, 00:05:48.01\00:05:49.58 to kill with sword, and with hunger, 00:05:49.61\00:05:51.11 and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. " 00:05:51.15\00:05:53.52 More? James: That's it. 00:05:53.55\00:05:55.98 Yvonne: Okay... so the pale horse 00:05:56.05\00:05:59.55 I had never thought about this before 00:05:59.59\00:06:03.02 when I read the pale horse, why was he pale? 00:06:03.06\00:06:05.89 What did that represent? But... you brought out that 00:06:05.93\00:06:09.26 it represents... you know when you think of somebody 00:06:09.30\00:06:11.80 that's pale... you think of the absence of blood... 00:06:11.83\00:06:14.14 so there's the absence of blood in this horse 00:06:14.17\00:06:18.27 that indicates the blood of Jesus being not... 00:06:18.31\00:06:22.24 people weren't applying the blood of Jesus 00:06:22.28\00:06:26.15 for righteousness so... 00:06:26.21\00:06:27.55 the blood of Jesus was not in this horse so people were not... 00:06:27.58\00:06:30.82 they were not using or applying the blood of Jesus, 00:06:30.89\00:06:36.16 so this led... if the blood is withdrawn... 00:06:36.19\00:06:39.36 because we know that the life is in the blood, 00:06:39.39\00:06:42.50 right, where it says... if the blood is withdrawn... 00:06:42.53\00:06:45.27 now, that leads to us... not us... them... 00:06:45.33\00:06:49.64 not being willing to acknowledge God... leading to Atheism 00:06:49.67\00:06:56.18 so, we look at this whole thing as... this period... 00:06:56.21\00:07:02.55 that was the dark ages, that led into 00:07:02.58\00:07:05.22 Atheism. James: Amen, and that's... 00:07:05.25\00:07:07.96 and another connection there, of course, is death and hell 00:07:07.99\00:07:10.46 so death and hell is connected with that because 00:07:10.49\00:07:12.63 as the blood is removed... you got it... 00:07:12.66\00:07:16.36 Yvonne: That's major... and I... that shouldn't be left out 00:07:16.40\00:07:19.63 because again, it is a misrepresentation 00:07:19.67\00:07:23.91 of God's character to take away the blood of Jesus 00:07:23.94\00:07:28.91 and to use death and hell as a way... as subterfuge... 00:07:28.94\00:07:33.48 it's a way to trick people into thinking that 00:07:33.52\00:07:37.35 God is... God is... a cool tyrant... 00:07:37.39\00:07:41.39 and so, death and hell... the pale horse... 00:07:41.42\00:07:45.99 on that pale horse sat death and hell. 00:07:46.03\00:07:50.70 James: Oh yes... 00:07:50.73\00:07:52.07 Ivor: I think something that's really, really significant is... 00:07:52.10\00:07:55.60 and the Bible says, 00:07:55.64\00:07:56.97 "Greater love has no man than this, 00:07:57.01\00:07:58.34 that he lay his life down for his friend. 00:07:58.37\00:08:00.18 God so loved the world 00:08:00.21\00:08:01.81 that He gave His only begotten Son... " 00:08:01.84\00:08:03.21 that blood is really the most potent representation 00:08:03.24\00:08:07.32 of the love of God, so when the love is removed, 00:08:07.35\00:08:11.35 when the blood is removed, 00:08:11.39\00:08:12.75 you have a picture of a God who is a tyrant, 00:08:12.79\00:08:15.06 who is just... want to be afraid of... 00:08:15.09\00:08:18.79 not want to love and that's the picture that this 00:08:18.83\00:08:21.30 pale horse is presenting of God... 00:08:21.33\00:08:23.03 "Look, there's no blood, there's no love, 00:08:23.06\00:08:25.83 yet, God is the kind of God that will do this forever, 00:08:25.90\00:08:28.34 you know, that will burn you forever, 00:08:28.37\00:08:29.77 and one of the things that we were just talking about 00:08:29.80\00:08:33.07 is the fact that when you look at these last two horses, 00:08:33.14\00:08:36.38 the black horse and the pale horse... 00:08:36.41\00:08:37.75 I bet that it was during the period of the black horse 00:08:37.78\00:08:39.95 that we have instituted the first Sunday Law, 00:08:39.98\00:08:43.02 Sunday sacredness... 00:08:43.08\00:08:44.42 and under the fourth seal... the fourth horse, 00:08:44.45\00:08:46.82 we have this issue of the state of the dead... 00:08:46.86\00:08:49.09 so, these are the two great errors... 00:08:49.12\00:08:52.63 Sunday sacredness and the state of the dead... 00:08:52.66\00:08:55.76 that apostate Christianity uses to deceive the world. 00:08:55.80\00:09:00.14 Yvonne: Hmmm... hmmm... 00:09:00.17\00:09:01.50 Ivor: I'm going to find those two issues coming back 00:09:01.54\00:09:03.71 as we move further in the Book of Revelation 00:09:03.74\00:09:05.97 so it's just very interesting that under these two seals... 00:09:06.01\00:09:09.61 these are the two things that are made prominent, 00:09:09.64\00:09:12.85 the changing of the Sabbath and the balance between 00:09:12.88\00:09:16.05 Sabbath and Sunday... "let's compromise" 00:09:16.08\00:09:18.62 and the teaching of death and hell. 00:09:18.65\00:09:20.82 Yvonne: Hmmm... hmmm... 00:09:20.86\00:09:22.19 James: And this is why it's so important for us 00:09:22.22\00:09:24.56 to be able to apply these symbols in history 00:09:24.59\00:09:26.90 because you can look at the symbols and you go, 00:09:26.96\00:09:29.20 "Where is the Sabbath in the dark horse right there?" 00:09:29.23\00:09:31.33 What we're doing is, we're showing 00:09:31.37\00:09:33.47 that in the churches and in the seals 00:09:33.50\00:09:35.50 and in the trumpets we're looking at epochs of history, 00:09:35.54\00:09:38.07 these histories in succession 00:09:38.11\00:09:39.84 and when we go back to this historical time, 00:09:39.87\00:09:42.31 in... for example... the time of Constantine, 00:09:42.34\00:09:45.25 we see in history... a change in our Sabbath to Sunday 00:09:45.28\00:09:48.52 and that reminds us that wow! that's when that took place 00:09:48.55\00:09:51.75 and therefore this black horse represents a time 00:09:51.79\00:09:54.46 when the Sabbath was changed, okay, 00:09:54.49\00:09:56.49 an attack on the Sabbath 00:09:56.52\00:09:58.83 and then we go to the history following that and we see... 00:09:58.86\00:10:01.50 oh, this is the time... the church brought in 00:10:01.53\00:10:03.50 this misunderstanding of hell, this misunderstanding of death, 00:10:03.53\00:10:07.30 yes, and these ideas really from... 00:10:07.34\00:10:10.57 a lot of it from Greek thinking... 00:10:10.61\00:10:13.78 of... the ended up becoming 00:10:13.81\00:10:17.11 a total misrepresentation of God's character 00:10:17.15\00:10:19.61 which led people to just turn away from God... Atheism, 00:10:19.65\00:10:22.52 "Oh, this is the basis for spiritualism... 00:10:22.55\00:10:25.45 this is the basis for 00:10:25.49\00:10:26.82 misunderstanding the state of the dead, 00:10:26.86\00:10:29.12 oh, these are two great errors in history 00:10:29.16\00:10:31.19 that are symbolized here in these horses, 00:10:31.23\00:10:33.23 in history we see this phrase, we see the connection, 00:10:33.26\00:10:36.26 oh yeah... and then we get back into the... 00:10:36.30\00:10:38.73 over into the end of the Book of Revelation, we have... 00:10:38.77\00:10:41.34 what's going to come out? It's going to come this way, 00:10:41.37\00:10:43.94 it's going to say in Revelation chapter 14, 00:10:43.97\00:10:46.07 "All nations are drunk 00:10:46.11\00:10:48.44 of the wine of the wrath of her fornication... " 00:10:48.48\00:10:50.18 Okay, "Oh, what's the wine of the wrath of fornication?" 00:10:50.25\00:10:51.88 In her cup she has a... 00:10:51.91\00:10:53.25 in her hand she has a cup filled with wine... 00:10:53.28\00:10:56.18 "What is that wine?" Wine is doctrines... teachings, 00:10:56.22\00:10:59.52 in that context... 00:10:59.55\00:11:00.92 Ivor: The wine is a counterfeit of the blood of Christ, 00:11:00.96\00:11:05.49 James: Yes! the blood of Christ, the wine... 00:11:05.53\00:11:08.00 Ivor: It's a false covenant that they have partaken of 00:11:08.03\00:11:12.00 it's a false understanding of who God is 00:11:12.03\00:11:14.70 His character... His love... His covenant. 00:11:14.77\00:11:17.01 James: And so, right now, someone's listening... 00:11:17.04\00:11:19.74 they're watching this, they're listening to this 00:11:19.77\00:11:22.44 so if someone's had a Bible Study and they said, 00:11:22.48\00:11:23.95 "Oh," like me... "Sunday, that's always been the day... " 00:11:23.98\00:11:26.68 "Well, it's not in the Bible. " 00:11:26.72\00:11:28.18 "It's not in the Bible, where did it come from?" 00:11:28.22\00:11:29.58 "Oh! history... you see... history... " 00:11:29.62\00:11:31.82 you have to go back to history, when we go to history... 00:11:31.85\00:11:33.79 we find, "Oh, Constantine... " "Where is that?" "Right here," 00:11:33.86\00:11:36.73 you see... we make the connection, 00:11:36.76\00:11:38.33 God is giving us the connection right here... 00:11:38.36\00:11:40.50 He's not giving it to us once in the churches, you know, 00:11:40.53\00:11:42.96 He's not giving it to us twice in the seals... 00:11:43.00\00:11:44.80 He's not giving it to us three times in the trumpets 00:11:44.83\00:11:47.34 He has given it to us four times, 00:11:47.37\00:11:48.70 five times even when you go to Daniel, six, seven, eight, 00:11:48.74\00:11:51.51 you know, because Daniel talks about changing times and laws 00:11:51.54\00:11:54.38 "and then it will come... " and so we've got this... 00:11:54.41\00:11:56.18 just this... layer after layer after layer, 00:11:56.24\00:11:58.35 reaffirmation, reaffirmation, reaffirmation... 00:11:58.38\00:12:00.48 so when we lay all these layers out 00:12:00.52\00:12:02.98 and we look at history and check it all out... 00:12:03.02\00:12:04.72 all this comes down, comes down, comes down... 00:12:04.75\00:12:06.19 it's a powerful picture. 00:12:06.22\00:12:07.96 Ivor: So, what you need to 00:12:08.02\00:12:09.92 understand in the Book of Revelation 00:12:09.96\00:12:11.29 is you need to have the understanding of history, 00:12:11.33\00:12:13.16 once you have the understanding of history, 00:12:13.19\00:12:15.33 you just... you study the Book of Revelation 00:12:15.36\00:12:17.43 and I say, "Where does this fall in history? What... " 00:12:17.47\00:12:20.24 and that's why the Historicists' method of interpreting 00:12:20.30\00:12:23.00 the Book of Revelation is so important 00:12:23.07\00:12:24.77 because history verifies... with these other Schools... 00:12:24.81\00:12:28.64 Futurism... you have... you're just guessing 00:12:28.71\00:12:30.75 "this may happen... and we think this will happen... 00:12:30.78\00:12:33.52 and it may happen here or... " 00:12:33.55\00:12:34.88 you're basically left in the dark and you're just guessing. 00:12:34.92\00:12:37.75 Ivor: Preterism... there is no history, 00:12:37.79\00:12:40.66 it's just all in the past, and so 00:12:40.69\00:12:43.22 this is just another reason why 00:12:43.26\00:12:45.26 it's crucial for us to understand 00:12:45.29\00:12:47.26 that without Historicism, 00:12:47.30\00:12:50.07 you cannot understand the Book of Revelation. 00:12:50.10\00:12:51.93 James: Preterism is a little bit of history... 00:12:51.97\00:12:54.10 Ivor: A little bit... but it's all in the past. 00:12:54.14\00:12:56.14 James: Yeah, there's no process, no succession. 00:12:56.17\00:12:57.57 Ivor: Yes. 00:12:57.61\00:12:58.94 Yvonne: For those who did not see the former programs 00:12:58.97\00:13:01.54 about Historicism, what is it? 00:13:01.58\00:13:04.21 James: Historicism is a way we approach the Book of Revelation 00:13:04.25\00:13:07.25 by saying that it's past, present and future, 00:13:07.32\00:13:09.42 so God introduces Himself in the Book of Revelation, 00:13:09.45\00:13:12.62 "I am He that is... that was... and is to come... " 00:13:12.65\00:13:15.79 that's past, present and future, 00:13:15.82\00:13:17.36 "write those things which you have seen, 00:13:17.39\00:13:19.26 the things which are and the things which must be hereafter" 00:13:19.29\00:13:22.56 That's Revelation chapter one verse 19... 00:13:22.60\00:13:24.73 Revelation chapter one, I think it's verse 9... 00:13:24.80\00:13:27.57 and Revelation one verse 4, 00:13:27.60\00:13:29.44 so all of those verses are showing us 00:13:29.50\00:13:31.27 in the introduction to Revelation 00:13:31.31\00:13:33.01 how the Book of Revelation is to be understood 00:13:33.04\00:13:35.18 because John says that he was shown things 00:13:35.21\00:13:37.25 which must shortly come to pass, 00:13:37.28\00:13:38.75 well, that goes all the way back to his time... 00:13:38.78\00:13:40.52 and that's the Apostolic Age, 00:13:40.55\00:13:41.88 well, now we know that there are things in Revelation 00:13:41.92\00:13:44.42 that have to do with the end of time, 00:13:44.45\00:13:45.99 so you've got things that are happening in John's time, 00:13:46.02\00:13:48.12 things that are happening in the end of time, 00:13:48.16\00:13:49.49 what about in between? 00:13:49.52\00:13:50.86 Absolutely, you're looking at Revelation and going, 00:13:50.89\00:13:52.39 "Oh yeah, look at that... 00:13:52.43\00:13:53.76 that's the history that took place here, 00:13:53.80\00:13:55.13 and that's... this... " so you see... that's Historicism 00:13:55.16\00:13:57.67 looking at the whole... in other words... 00:13:57.70\00:13:59.17 sometimes we look at Historicism and say, 00:13:59.20\00:14:00.60 "Oh, you're saying everything's in the past... " 00:14:00.64\00:14:01.97 no, that's Preterism... 00:14:02.00\00:14:03.34 Historicism allows past, present and future, 00:14:03.37\00:14:06.57 and the reason why I think it is the best way 00:14:06.61\00:14:09.78 other than the fact that it's based on 00:14:09.81\00:14:11.31 the introduction to Revelation is that it includes Futurism, 00:14:11.38\00:14:14.82 it includes Preterism, it even includes idealism 00:14:14.85\00:14:17.59 and Idealism is the theological term that... that is used for 00:14:17.62\00:14:21.82 what we've been talking about when we say, 00:14:21.86\00:14:23.32 "This history has application to us in principle... " 00:14:23.36\00:14:26.26 taking the history and learning 00:14:26.29\00:14:27.96 the principles that apply to us is Idealism, 00:14:28.00\00:14:29.90 in other words... Idealists' approach to Revelation... 00:14:29.96\00:14:32.60 they don't care about History at all... they just say, 00:14:32.63\00:14:35.37 "Oh, there's a principle there that applies to us today, 00:14:35.40\00:14:37.17 there's a principal there that applies to us today... " 00:14:37.21\00:14:38.91 Ivor: We need to live with the white horse, 00:14:38.94\00:14:40.48 we need to have our lives... 00:14:40.51\00:14:41.84 we need to go out and spread the gospel, 00:14:41.88\00:14:43.55 but it's all, "How does it deal with me personally, not... " 00:14:43.58\00:14:46.61 James: Not the history at all. Yvonne: Okay, okay... 00:14:46.65\00:14:49.18 James: So, all of that is in Historicism, 00:14:49.25\00:14:51.42 okay, we got to move to Matthew 13, 00:14:51.45\00:14:53.66 this is so beautiful, so powerful, 00:14:53.69\00:14:56.19 Jesus Christ is teaching here, okay, 00:14:56.22\00:14:58.69 and He's teaching... 00:14:58.73\00:15:00.06 and I'm just going to give an overview, 00:15:00.10\00:15:02.16 He's teaching a parable to His disciples 00:15:02.20\00:15:04.43 and in that parable... 00:15:04.47\00:15:06.70 which is called the Parable of the Sower and the Seed, 00:15:06.74\00:15:09.37 He's talking about how the Word of God is going to be sown 00:15:09.40\00:15:11.97 in all of the world, okay, now, 00:15:12.01\00:15:14.74 given that basic understanding 00:15:14.78\00:15:17.45 of the parable of the sower and the seed, 00:15:17.48\00:15:19.01 I'm going to ask you guys, 00:15:19.05\00:15:21.05 knowing the parable of the sower and the seed, 00:15:21.08\00:15:23.92 the sower goes out to seed and he seeds in this ground, 00:15:23.95\00:15:27.56 how many types of ground that he sow seed into? 00:15:27.59\00:15:30.29 Ivor: Four... 00:15:30.33\00:15:31.66 James: How many horses are there? "He also that receives seed 00:19:33.50\00:19:35.97 among the thorns is he that hears the word; 00:19:36.00\00:19:38.37 and the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, 00:19:38.41\00:19:43.24 chokes the word, and he becomes unfruitful. " 00:19:43.28\00:19:48.38 Jason: I would say that that's the black horse... 00:19:48.42\00:19:53.46 James: That's the black horse... you've got the world coming in 00:19:53.49\00:19:56.73 you've got the world choking out... 00:19:56.76\00:19:58.69 okay, let's go to verse 23. 00:19:58.73\00:20:02.20 Jason: "But he that received seed into the good ground 00:20:02.26\00:20:05.43 is he that hears the word, and understands it; 00:20:05.47\00:20:08.20 which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, 00:20:08.24\00:20:11.74 some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. " 00:20:11.77\00:20:14.34 James: Okay. Yvonne: That's the white horse. 00:20:14.38\00:20:16.85 Ivor: That's the white horse. James: So what horse is left? 00:20:16.91\00:20:18.45 Jason: The pale horse... 00:20:18.48\00:20:19.81 James: And the pale horse is all about misrepresenting God, 00:20:19.85\00:20:23.15 misunderstanding God... see that? 00:20:23.18\00:20:25.65 Jason: Now the pale horse is that like... 00:20:25.69\00:20:28.22 salvation by works... 00:20:28.26\00:20:30.66 James: Yes, absolutely, and so is the black one 00:20:30.69\00:20:34.23 and so is the red one, what's really interesting... 00:20:34.26\00:20:37.80 when you get to the trumpets, 00:20:37.83\00:20:39.17 we're going to have a revelation of all these "isms" 00:20:39.20\00:20:42.17 Judaism... Paganism... Islam... Catholicism... all... Atheism... 00:20:42.20\00:20:48.11 all these "isms... " but they all have one things in common 00:20:48.14\00:20:50.25 all of them have a basis... 00:20:50.28\00:20:52.45 are based on the foundation of future merit. 00:20:52.51\00:20:54.52 The only way you can get out of that foundation 00:20:54.55\00:20:58.15 in any religious institution or teaching... is grace... 00:20:58.19\00:21:01.52 grace is the unique ingredient 00:21:01.56\00:21:04.79 that is brought to us in the gospel of Jesus Christ, 00:21:04.83\00:21:08.16 unmerited favor... and when... as soon as you stir from grace, 00:21:08.20\00:21:11.43 as soon as you pervert grace, as soon as you change grace, 00:21:11.50\00:21:14.70 as soon as you mess with grace, 00:21:14.74\00:21:16.07 you undermine the gospel completely, 00:21:16.10\00:21:17.84 because... because unmerited favor 00:21:17.87\00:21:19.77 motivates the heart, 00:21:19.81\00:21:21.14 unmerited favor just takes hold and captivates us... 00:21:21.18\00:21:23.65 captivates us... takes us prisoner. 00:21:23.68\00:21:26.38 Ivor: I'm going to share something 00:21:26.41\00:21:28.68 that I think is really interesting 00:21:28.72\00:21:30.95 in terms of this sower... you know the sower is Christ 00:21:30.99\00:21:34.32 and as I've read this parable, you know, 00:21:34.36\00:21:37.46 if you want to be efficient in seed sowing... what do you do? 00:21:37.49\00:21:41.56 You're going to put the seed 00:21:41.60\00:21:43.60 where it's going to produce fruit, 00:21:43.63\00:21:45.57 but I've read this... I'm like... 00:21:45.60\00:21:48.10 "Why does the sower allow seed 00:21:48.14\00:21:50.61 to fall on these different grounds?" 00:21:50.64\00:21:53.14 The seed is the Word of God, okay 00:21:53.17\00:21:55.61 and to me it just says, "You know what? 00:21:55.64\00:21:58.08 To Christ it doesn't matter whatever condition you are in, 00:21:58.11\00:22:00.42 he's going to throw that seed... " 00:22:00.45\00:22:02.65 and here's how we know 00:22:02.68\00:22:04.45 that Satan is deathly afraid of the seed 00:22:04.49\00:22:06.89 because look right there in verse... 00:22:06.92\00:22:10.13 verse 19... "When anyone heareth the word 00:22:10.19\00:22:13.03 of the kingdom and understandeth it not, 00:22:13.06\00:22:15.90 then cometh the wicked one 00:22:15.93\00:22:17.40 and catches away that which was sown 00:22:17.43\00:22:20.24 in his heart... " and if you go back over... 00:22:20.27\00:22:22.67 just look at verse... let's see, verse four, I believe it is, 00:22:22.70\00:22:28.04 verse 3... "And he spake many things 00:22:28.08\00:22:31.05 unto them in a parable, saying, 00:22:31.11\00:22:32.45 Behold, a sower went forth to sow: 00:22:32.48\00:22:33.82 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, 00:22:33.85\00:22:36.72 and the fowls came and devoured them up... " 00:22:36.75\00:22:39.52 so here's the question, 00:22:39.55\00:22:40.89 if the seed falling on the wayside means, 00:22:40.92\00:22:43.53 "Oh yeah, nothing's going to happen" 00:22:43.56\00:22:44.89 why wouldn't the fowls just leave the seed alone? 00:22:44.93\00:22:47.06 Why wouldn't they just... "oh... " 00:22:47.10\00:22:49.13 no... but the devil is so afraid of what the Word of God can do 00:22:49.16\00:22:53.20 even when it falls by the wayside 00:22:53.23\00:22:55.14 that he'll come and snatch it, he'll come and snatch it... 00:22:55.17\00:22:58.11 he can't run the risk of these wayside hearers, 00:22:58.14\00:23:01.74 these stony ground... because guess what... 00:23:01.78\00:23:03.65 before we came to the Lord, we were one of these grounds, 00:23:03.68\00:23:07.42 All: Hmmm... yes... 00:23:07.45\00:23:08.98 Ivor: We weren't good like... "I am good... " no... 00:23:09.02\00:23:10.92 I was a stony... we were stony hearers... 00:23:10.95\00:23:13.36 we were one of these other grounds 00:23:13.39\00:23:15.96 and the seed was able to penetrate that ground 00:23:15.99\00:23:18.56 and turn us into the... 00:23:18.59\00:23:20.00 James: The Word of God is powerful. 00:23:20.06\00:23:21.76 Ivor: Exactly, so... none of us are born on a white horse, 00:23:21.80\00:23:24.23 right... we come into this world... 00:23:24.27\00:23:28.17 it's just like... you know... okay, we're dealing with red... 00:23:28.20\00:23:30.84 we're dealing... we hate... 00:23:30.87\00:23:32.21 we're dealing with anyone of these... 00:23:32.24\00:23:34.11 James: Compromise... Ivor: Exactly... 00:23:34.14\00:23:35.94 James: bloodless... lifeless... 00:23:36.01\00:23:37.35 Ivor: Yes, so the rider on the white horse is going forth 00:23:37.38\00:23:39.55 to conquer and to pull people 00:23:39.58\00:23:42.08 from these different grounds into where He is. 00:23:42.12\00:23:45.69 Yvonne: Hmmm... hmmm... James: Yeah, yeah, powerful. 00:23:45.72\00:23:47.86 Yvonne: That's the good Word... 00:23:47.89\00:23:49.22 James: It is and this is... 00:23:49.29\00:23:50.63 another thing that's really significant about this is, 00:23:50.66\00:23:52.83 this is the gospel of Matthew, 00:23:52.86\00:23:54.46 this isn't the Book of Revelation 00:23:54.50\00:23:56.43 this is the gospel of Matthew, okay, 00:23:56.46\00:23:58.33 so, this is Jesus talking in the gospel of Matthew, 00:23:58.37\00:24:02.10 but it's Jesus also in the Book of Revelation, 00:24:02.14\00:24:05.64 see... it's the revelation of Jesus Christ, 00:24:05.67\00:24:07.94 it is the gospel... I like to say it this way... 00:24:07.98\00:24:11.01 Revelation is the fifth gospel of the Bible... 00:24:11.05\00:24:14.55 Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and Revelation 00:24:14.58\00:24:18.09 because the Book of Revelation 00:24:18.12\00:24:19.89 is the revelation of Jesus Christ 00:24:19.92\00:24:21.62 and it is the revelation of the gospel of Jesus Christ 00:24:21.66\00:24:24.19 and when we get past the symbols 00:24:24.23\00:24:26.33 and we identify what they mean, "Whoa, wait a minute... " 00:24:26.36\00:24:28.73 okay, these symbols represent these four horses... 00:24:28.76\00:24:31.60 they are four ages in time 00:24:31.63\00:24:32.97 and they represent in symbolic language 00:24:33.00\00:24:35.90 the Christian experience, you have the Apostolic Age 00:24:36.00\00:24:39.61 and you have: accepting Christ, uniting with Christ, 00:24:39.64\00:24:41.74 bringing Christ forth, His birth, His life, His death, 00:24:41.78\00:24:44.98 His resurrection, that's what you're all about 00:24:45.01\00:24:46.61 and as you do that, you connect with him, 00:24:46.65\00:24:48.12 you go forth conquering and to conquer 00:24:48.15\00:24:49.52 and Satan hates that so he tries to persecute you, 00:24:49.55\00:24:52.25 that was in an age in time but it's applicable to us today 00:24:52.29\00:24:55.22 and if that doesn't work he tries to get in there 00:24:55.26\00:24:57.03 and compromise, he gets you to compromise, 00:24:57.06\00:24:58.49 you know, compromise... 00:24:58.53\00:24:59.86 and then he comes and he tries to misrepresent God's character, 00:24:59.89\00:25:03.97 he tries to get you off thinking... "Well, you know... " 00:25:04.00\00:25:06.43 and I know... I've... every one of us probably knows somebody 00:25:06.47\00:25:09.50 or is close to somebody who was a believer or a Christian 00:25:09.54\00:25:12.91 but something happened in their life, 00:25:12.94\00:25:14.58 maybe a death in the family and they're like, 00:25:14.61\00:25:17.08 "How can God allow this to happen, 00:25:17.15\00:25:19.21 how can God allow my dad to die, my child to die?" 00:25:19.25\00:25:22.82 And so, that rider on that pale horse is trying to 00:25:22.85\00:25:26.39 separate us from Christ... the White Horse, 00:25:26.42\00:25:29.09 but... and here's the verse I love 00:25:29.12\00:25:31.59 us to just close with on this whole thing, 00:25:31.63\00:25:34.03 to summarize all of this is... it's in John chapter 1, 00:25:34.06\00:25:36.50 can you read in John chapter 1, Jason read for us 00:25:36.53\00:25:38.93 John one and it's talking here about our... 00:25:38.97\00:25:45.21 it's talking about Jesus, 00:25:45.24\00:25:46.57 I'm going to give you the context but read 00:25:46.61\00:25:47.94 because we're running out of time... read verses 4 and 5. 00:25:47.98\00:25:50.45 Jason: Four and five... James: Hmmm... hmmm... 00:25:50.48\00:25:51.91 Jason: "In him was life; 00:25:51.95\00:25:53.28 and the life was the light of men. 00:25:53.31\00:25:55.12 And the light shineth in darkness; 00:25:55.15\00:25:56.89 and the darkness comprehended it not. " 00:25:56.95\00:25:58.95 James: "Did not overcome it, did not overcome it. " 00:25:58.99\00:26:01.92 That is what we find in various translations of the Bible 00:26:01.96\00:26:06.46 that the translation of that word... "comprehended" 00:26:06.49\00:26:09.76 it means to overcome... to take a hold of... 00:26:09.80\00:26:13.54 to apprehend... and then as Ivor was sharing earlier, 00:26:13.57\00:26:17.21 verse 9 says, "That light was the true light 00:26:17.24\00:26:21.14 which lights every man that comes into the world" 00:26:21.18\00:26:24.05 stony ground here, 00:26:24.08\00:26:25.41 thorny ground here... wherever you are... 00:26:25.45\00:26:27.12 it lights every man that comes into the world, 00:26:27.15\00:26:29.25 that light lights every man that comes into the world, 00:26:29.28\00:26:31.15 so this is just a beautiful picture 00:26:31.19\00:26:32.92 of the gospel in the four horses. 00:26:32.95\00:26:34.66 Jason: Amen... Yvonne: Amen... it's rich. 00:26:34.69\00:26:37.93 James: We need to close out but before we do, 00:26:37.96\00:26:41.00 we need to remind our Viewers 00:26:41.03\00:26:42.36 that they can send their questions in. 00:26:42.40\00:26:43.87 Jason: To sss@3abn. org 00:26:43.90\00:26:48.10 as in Salvation in Symbols and Signs. 00:26:48.14\00:26:50.01 James: @3abn. org and we are looking forward 00:26:50.04\00:26:53.81 to getting those questions, we want to answer those 00:26:53.84\00:26:56.51 in future programs together, so, anyway, 00:26:56.54\00:26:59.55 we need to close out with prayer, who wants to volunteer? 00:26:59.58\00:27:01.38 Ivor: I'll pray. James: Thank you Ivor. 00:27:01.42\00:27:03.85 Ivor: "Heavenly Father, we just want to thank you 00:27:03.89\00:27:05.49 for opening the Word to us, 00:27:05.52\00:27:08.39 for giving us an understanding of the Scripture, 00:27:08.42\00:27:10.63 and Father, we just ask 00:27:10.66\00:27:12.19 that you would continue to open our eyes, 00:27:12.23\00:27:14.10 continue to win our hearts, continue to conquer us Lord, 00:27:14.13\00:27:17.70 may we surrender to your will 00:27:17.73\00:27:19.10 and may we do that which is pleasing in your sight 00:27:19.13\00:27:22.77 may we understand the grace that you have given to us 00:27:22.80\00:27:26.07 and Father, thank you again for your love for us, 00:27:26.11\00:27:29.08 we pray this in Jesus' name, amen. " 00:27:29.11\00:27:30.45 All: "Amen... " 00:27:30.48\00:27:32.01 James: So just in the last few seconds... 00:27:32.05\00:27:33.38 it's going to be important for us... 00:27:33.42\00:27:35.68 to transition now to the fifth horse... 00:27:35.72\00:27:38.12 not the fifth horse... the fifth seal... 00:27:38.15\00:27:40.52 and we've been just looking at this history 00:27:40.56\00:27:42.86 and we're going to find that connects very much with 00:27:42.89\00:27:46.06 what's going to transpire next, 00:27:46.09\00:27:48.10 so we're going to take all the information we've gathered 00:27:48.13\00:27:50.83 and we're going to use that to transition to our next seal 00:27:50.87\00:27:53.57 and as it opens up, poof... 00:27:53.60\00:27:55.40 it's just going to be... it's going to be powerful. 00:27:55.44\00:27:57.01 Yvonne: Hmmm... hmmm... James: Praise God. 00:27:57.04\00:27:58.47 Yvonne: Amen... 00:27:58.51\00:27:59.84
