say, 00:01:36.63\00:01:42.27 "Child, there'll be a better day, 00:01:42.30\00:01:46.37 Don't allow the storm to hide sweet Heaven's view. 00:01:46.40\00:01:54.91 'Cause we've got one more valley, one more hill, 00:01:54.94\00:02:02.81 Maybe one more trial, one more tear. 00:02:02.84\00:02:11.94 One more curve in life's road, 00:02:14.88\00:02:18.46 maybe one more mile to go, 00:02:18.49\00:02:22.59 Then we can lay down our 00:02:22.62\00:02:26.30 heavy load when we get home. 00:02:26.33\00:02:30.58 Don't let Satan see your tears, 00:02:41.58\00:02:45.96 learn to smile Maybe one more trial, one more tear. 00:03:24.03\00:03:33.37 One more curve in life's road, 00:03:35.87\00:03:40.10 maybe one more mile to go, 00:03:40.13\00:03:44.29 Then we can lay down our heavy 00:03:44.32\00:03:48.40 load when we get home. 00:03:48.43\00:03:51.68 Then we can lay down our heavy load 00:03:51.71\00:03:57.64 when we get home. 00:03:57.67\00:04:01.03 Millions have listened to exclusively in the black keys 00:04:21.24\00:04:26.46 and sometimes she plays the organ and the 00:04:26.49\00:04:30.65 keyboard at the same time and that gives her 00:04:30.68\00:04:34.15 music a that 00:07:07.59\00:07:12.56 He might have chosen, to follow Him 00:07:12.59\00:07:17.66 Others with learning and greater distinction, 00:07:17.69\00:07:28.10 to follow Him Men with authority 00:07:28.13\00:07:36.76 and forceful ability Who know how to speak 00:07:36.79\00:07:44.94 and be heard I don't know exactly 00:07:44.97\00:07:53.53 why I'm here at all But today, I'll follow my Lord 00:07:53.56\00:08:06.12 It was business as usual for me when 00:08:06.15\00:08:14.09 Jesus said, follow me 00:08:14.12\00:08:18.42 I left all behind me that day when Jesus said, 00:08:18.45\00:08:28.40 follow me I empted myself of my old life 00:08:28.43\00:08:38.59 completely With no thought that this 00:08:38.62\00:08:44.58 could be wrong And as long as I 00:08:44.61\00:08:52.70 follow the steps of my Master 00:08:52.73\00:08:57.89 I know I'm where I belong 00:08:57.92\00:09:05.19 He chose me, He chose me 00:09:07.11\00:09:22.19 I could not say no when He said follow me 00:09:24.38\00:09:32.05 And I'll make you fishers of men 00:09:32.08\00:09:39.04 From now on, from now on 00:09:39.07\00:09:57.09 I will not look back on the things left behind 00:09:57.12\00:10:07.21 He chose me to follow Him 00:10:07.24\00:10:15.33 I will not look back on the things left behind 00:10:15.36\00:10:25.08 He chose me to follow Him. 00:10:25.11\00:10:37.56 I'm Well, it's always a great, great blessing. 00:11:01.82\00:11:04.72 You know, the scripture gives us the 00:11:04.75\00:11:06.95 assurance there in Psalms 28 verse 7 00:11:06.98\00:11:10.85 it says, the Lord is my strength and my shield. 00:11:10.88\00:11:14.78 My heart trusted in him and I am helped 00:11:14.81\00:11:19.32 therefore my heart greatly rejoices 00:11:19.35\00:11:22.06 and with my Now you don't 00:26:35.03\00:26:37.61 wanna mess up there, as they have got 00:26:37.64\00:26:39.82 everything brought down to a final 00:26:39.85\00:26:41.75 and so my music started I got up there 00:26:41.78\00:26:45.64 and I am thinking okay I don't 00:26:45.67\00:26:50.13 remember the words, so it was time 00:26:50.16\00:26:53.10 for me to start singing and I made up 00:26:53.13\00:26:55.11 that whole first verse. I have no idea what 00:26:55.14\00:26:58.61 I said, but the words rhymed, so I thought 00:26:58.64\00:27:01.94 well when I get to the second verse I'll 00:27:01.97\00:27:04.32 have that one down, the second verse came and 00:27:04.35\00:27:07.05 I don't remember it either. I sang that whole 00:27:07.08\00:27:11.20 song and made it up and I am scared 00:27:11.23\00:27:14.79 because I know the pastor is going to tear me up, 00:27:14.82\00:27:17.67 so I just kind of snug out or whatever 00:27:19.47\00:27:22.99 and sat down in the front row waiting for 00:27:23.02\00:27:24.72 the church to be out and everybody could go 00:27:24.75\00:27:26.48 and I thought well I better go back and 00:27:26.51\00:27:29.16 apologize to him, and I start to walk out 00:27:29.19\00:27:32.59 and here he comes right at me and I thought 00:27:32.62\00:27:37.29 oh my, so before he could open his mouth 00:27:37.32\00:27:40.86 I said Lee this is pastor Lee Larson out in, 00:27:40.89\00:27:44.80 out in the Oregon and I said Lee I am so sorry, 00:27:44.83\00:27:48.28 he said, what for what, I said 00:27:48.31\00:27:51.38 now I am not telling this story because I am 00:27:51.41\00:27:53.63 bragging that I made up the song no I didn't, 00:27:53.66\00:27:57.42 but what God can do and he said well I 00:27:57.45\00:28:01.44 didn't know that he said I thought those were 00:28:01.47\00:28:04.53 just words that I never heard before and I was 00:28:04.56\00:28:06.85 coming down to get them from you, 00:28:06.88\00:28:08.85 so that was one of the worst times, 00:28:08.88\00:28:12.40 but I mean it happens a lot. 00:28:12.43\00:28:14.08 That was the work of the Holy Spirit, wasn't it. 00:28:14.11\00:28:16.41 Well, absolutely because I can't, I can't 00:28:16.44\00:28:19.06 even write two sentences that make sentence. 00:28:19.09\00:28:22.07 Well, I need to tell you about Maddy that 00:28:22.10\00:28:24.23 kind of goes Maddy our wonderful 00:28:24.26\00:28:25.98 little singer Maddy Kuperous, whose health 00:28:26.01\00:28:29.16 doesn't permit her to travel with us anymore, 00:28:29.19\00:28:31.19 but do you remember over the night that 00:28:31.22\00:28:33.12 maybe you don't that you had a call 00:28:33.15\00:28:35.77 and there were two songs that kind a 00:28:35.80\00:28:39.99 sound alike, but they are in opposite ends of the 00:28:40.02\00:28:41.90 keyboards as far as keys and so 00:28:41.93\00:28:44.25 I put it in the key to sing Lord Jesus, I 00:28:44.28\00:28:48.65 long to be perfectly whole. Maddy starts out 00:28:48.68\00:28:52.40 with look upon Jesus and it's a totally 00:28:52.43\00:28:57.80 different key, much higher, and she sings low, 00:28:57.83\00:29:00.91 anyway she got through it, she has got marvelous 00:29:00.94\00:29:03.74 range, but well Ken was then giving his 00:29:03.77\00:29:07.75 the rest of his little talk on altar call way, 00:29:07.78\00:29:11.11 she is standing by the org and then she said 00:29:11.14\00:29:13.83 turn to me she said, wrong key and I turned to her 00:29:13.86\00:29:18.54 and said wrong song. So anyway we turned, 00:29:18.57\00:29:23.72 we changed keys and she then did the other song 00:29:23.75\00:29:26.17 when you came back to her. I don't 00:29:26.20\00:29:27.93 remember that, but I do remember being in the 00:29:27.96\00:29:31.51 meeting and I was speaking and I was coming down 00:29:31.54\00:29:36.14 at the end of the sermon and about to make 00:29:36.17\00:29:40.26 an appeal and I could remember that justice 00:29:40.29\00:29:44.97 May I step in here please, Justice I was 00:29:45.00\00:29:48.19 make, please let me don't say it, don't say it that's 00:29:48.22\00:29:49.73 best part. I did you know I have always said 00:29:49.76\00:29:53.25 you know what they say about to be old and wise 00:29:53.28\00:29:57.56 you must first be young and stupid, 00:29:57.59\00:29:59.78 so anyway I am a hairdresser and my brother was 00:29:59.81\00:30:03.68 doing the singing is that the time 00:30:03.71\00:30:05.43 you are talking about. Yes, that's the time 00:30:05.46\00:30:06.64 I'm talking about. Okay, let me tell this 00:30:06.67\00:30:07.64 really quickly and I knew I could give 00:30:07.65\00:30:10.44 this for my, I had a shop and I was 00:30:10.47\00:30:12.56 used to doing steps so quickly and so when we got 00:30:12.59\00:30:15.33 to this meeting, I decided very bad idea 00:30:15.36\00:30:19.39 that I would do this perm on him that's when men 00:30:19.42\00:30:22.25 were having perms remember back in the 80's 00:30:22.28\00:30:24.51 or 70's, so I was back there given his perm and 00:30:24.54\00:30:27.15 I had a timed out I thought and then I heard 00:30:27.18\00:30:31.61 Ken making his call, he was coming 00:30:31.64\00:30:34.01 down to the end of the sermon and 00:30:34.04\00:30:35.73 I am, and Jerry is supposed to sing the appeal song 00:30:36.17\00:30:38.56 my brother Jerry and he is up in 00:30:38.59\00:30:41.09 perm rods and probably looked good to 00:30:41.12\00:30:43.31 come out, so I began to pray. I said Lord, 00:30:43.34\00:30:47.39 I am so foolish forgive me help me out of this, 00:30:47.42\00:30:50.95 do you know what he did, dear Lord 00:30:50.98\00:30:54.37 he shed of electricity and Ken 00:30:54.40\00:30:58.93 had 21 projectors at that time and 00:30:58.96\00:31:02.01 everyone of them recycled, and by the time 00:31:02.04\00:31:04.55 they all recycled I had his perm out, he 00:31:04.58\00:31:09.30 was up there saying it took me about 00:31:09.33\00:31:10.81 three years to tell him what 00:31:10.84\00:31:12.28 really happened that night. 00:31:12.31\00:31:13.65 So you know lot of exciting things happen 00:31:15.00\00:31:17.93 of course Dona just got through singing 00:31:17.96\00:31:20.81 when she was young and foolish you know. 00:31:20.84\00:31:23.84 Yeah. And I think I remember something about 00:31:23.87\00:31:26.65 her buying a car. That is, that is priceless. 00:31:26.68\00:31:32.67 Yes, Dona, do you want us to tell it 00:31:32.70\00:31:36.22 or do you want to tell it. Dona who? 00:31:36.25\00:31:38.16 The only problem is when Dona talks, 00:31:38.19\00:31:39.97 she'll go on forever. Okay, I'm going to 00:31:40.00\00:31:42.15 interject here. I think I can tell that nicer then 00:31:42.18\00:31:44.98 you can, oh yes another stupid, 00:31:45.01\00:31:46.99 why are we, why is this my thought. 00:31:47.02\00:31:49.22 Dona, please tell it, it is true. This is true. 00:31:49.25\00:31:51.38 I had bought this cute little car you know the 00:31:51.41\00:31:54.98 guy just brought, the price just kept coming 00:31:55.01\00:31:57.05 down and I prayed about it, it was 00:31:57.08\00:31:58.70 little Porsche red and so he called I said 00:31:58.73\00:32:02.85 if you come down on this price I will take 00:32:02.88\00:32:04.52 it and so the days went by and I didn't hear from 00:32:04.55\00:32:07.61 finally anyway, the point being is that I bought 00:32:07.64\00:32:09.84 the car. Well, Gordon had to go to work 00:32:09.87\00:32:13.53 and I wanted to have that car. 00:32:13.56\00:32:15.03 Foolish, so I drove the 10 miles to pick up that 00:32:15.64\00:32:20.92 car. Problem is, I had another car with me 00:32:20.95\00:32:25.60 and I drove, so I thought well I can drive 00:32:25.63\00:32:28.75 one car a mile and come back and get the other, 00:32:28.78\00:32:32.26 so I did that. It took me almost all day to get home, 00:32:32.29\00:32:36.21 but the funny part was I kept meeting 00:32:36.24\00:32:38.38 people coming the way that I and I kept just 00:32:38.41\00:32:41.72 beat them and because you drive. 00:32:41.75\00:32:45.91 I drive ahead of them and then come 00:32:45.94\00:32:48.57 back and get the other car. And walk back 00:32:48.60\00:32:49.57 to get the other car, yeah and get the other car, 00:32:49.58\00:32:50.83 drive it back. That really is foolish. 00:32:50.86\00:32:52.70 But I got my car home. One of the things 00:32:54.16\00:32:57.16 that I run into quite often is people 00:32:57.19\00:33:00.47 come up and talk to me and it's a mistaken 00:33:00.50\00:33:03.57 identity they think I'm somebody that I'm not. 00:33:03.60\00:33:07.26 Are you asking me? Have you ever had 00:33:07.29\00:33:11.09 that happened? I have, this is another true story. 00:33:11.12\00:33:13.84 Ken, Dona, Gordon, Maddy, we were all doing 00:33:13.87\00:33:18.73 some series in Sacramento, California 00:33:18.76\00:33:22.01 and we went down to a buffet to grab a bite to eat 00:33:22.04\00:33:26.13 and as I was getting ready to sit down this man 00:33:27.93\00:33:30.97 came up to me and he said I know you, 00:33:31.00\00:33:34.81 you are my favorite singer. He said I have 00:33:34.84\00:33:38.50 all your songs and I just play them over and over and 00:33:38.53\00:33:41.19 I just love them and I am thinking oh, this 00:33:41.22\00:33:43.67 is alright. These guys were hearing this 00:33:43.70\00:33:46.92 and I had been with them very long 00:33:46.95\00:33:49.68 and I am just enjoying this a lot, so finally 00:33:49.71\00:33:52.92 he left and pretty soon here he comes back again. 00:33:52.95\00:33:57.20 He said what I just wanted to tell you that my 00:33:57.23\00:33:59.65 wife wanted me to come over here because 00:33:59.68\00:34:02.33 she was too embarrassed. She wanted me to 00:34:02.36\00:34:04.38 come over here and tell you that you 00:34:04.41\00:34:05.96 are her favorite singer also and she plays 00:34:05.99\00:34:10.49 your music all the time and she has got 00:34:10.52\00:34:12.35 everyone of them in her car and she plays them 00:34:12.38\00:34:14.61 over and over and over and on and on and on 00:34:14.64\00:34:16.51 finally he said, you are Roy Drusky, aren't you, 00:34:16.54\00:34:20.18 my bubble just broke. Lord has way 00:34:20.21\00:34:24.69 of taking care of things, he does, does, yeah. 00:34:24.72\00:34:26.38 You know, I had a man come up to me one time 00:34:26.41\00:34:30.00 and he just thank me for my music and for the 00:34:30.03\00:34:32.61 songs that I had written and I said what you know 00:34:32.64\00:34:35.72 that this is the Lords doing, it's not me 00:34:35.75\00:34:39.54 because do I look intelligent enough to do 00:34:39.57\00:34:41.99 this and he looked real close at me and he said. 00:34:42.02\00:34:44.42 Aha! Aha! He was an honest man. 00:34:44.45\00:34:46.31 He was very honest. Well, we have 00:34:46.34\00:34:49.63 a lot of wonderful interesting experiences 00:34:49.66\00:34:53.11 in what we do and the Lord blesses in so 00:34:53.14\00:34:57.48 many ways and gives us so much we are 00:34:57.51\00:35:00.27 so thankful for that and it's really so 00:35:00.30\00:35:06.83 important in what we do to keep our rhythms 00:35:06.86\00:35:13.18 in his hands and Dona is gonna sing for 00:35:13.21\00:35:16.61 us a wonderful song one that you will enjoy 00:35:16.64\00:35:20.00 immensely entitled "In His Hands." Can I say 00:35:20.03\00:35:23.81 before you did that wonderful introduction. 00:35:23.84\00:35:26.49 We had a flat tire in our motor home one time 00:35:26.52\00:35:29.86 just show you the Lords protection 00:35:29.89\00:35:32.87 and had it not been for the lord we would roll 00:35:32.90\00:35:36.28 that, we would have been gone and didn't gone, 00:35:36.31\00:35:37.84 but we Gordy wrestled it off to the right side 00:35:37.87\00:35:41.80 of the road and I got to give him a 00:35:41.83\00:35:44.94 haircut on the side of the road. 00:35:44.97\00:35:46.04 Anyway a motorcycle policeman came up 00:35:46.07\00:35:49.72 behind us and while they were waiting for the 00:35:49.75\00:35:52.56 tow truck to come he began, when he found Gordon 00:35:52.59\00:35:55.62 was a minister he began to tell him 00:35:55.65\00:35:58.67 about his family life that his wife was 00:35:58.70\00:36:01.61 leaving him that his children, when taking the 00:36:01.64\00:36:05.29 children and he began to cry and so 00:36:05.32\00:36:08.05 Gordon put his arm around that patrol mans, 00:36:08.08\00:36:10.88 young patrol mans shoulders and prayed with him. 00:36:10.91\00:36:13.98 I wished for my camera just to see that his 00:36:14.01\00:36:17.55 tears streaming down his face and cars 00:36:17.58\00:36:19.89 swishing by on the free way and Gordon 00:36:19.92\00:36:22.42 praying with that young man some day when the Lord 00:36:22.45\00:36:25.60 comes he is gonna show us and let us see 00:36:25.63\00:36:28.42 see maybe if that flat tire was for a reason. 00:36:28.45\00:36:31.76 Now I will sing in his hands. In his hands. 00:36:31.79\00:36:35.50 There are times I am overwhelmed 00:36:47.21\00:36:51.72 with the onset of trails 00:36:51.75\00:36:55.80 And this burden that I've carrying 00:36:59.41\00:37:02.42 it seems I've carried it for miles 00:37:02.45\00:37:08.99 That's when I realize that in 00:37:12.43\00:37:15.71 my own strength I cannot stand 00:37:15.74\00:37:21.60 Then I know the time has come 00:37:23.97\00:37:27.36 when I must put it in Gods hand 00:37:27.39\00:37:33.00 In his hands, the mountain look much smaller; 00:37:35.31\00:37:46.77 In his hands, the valleys not so long 00:37:48.27\00:37:59.50 When I have carried my burden as far as I can 00:37:59.53\00:38:14.73 Help me remember Lord to put it in your hands 00:38:14.76\00:38:25.78 I read where Gods mighty hand had parted the sea 00:38:25.81\00:38:37.03 And when his children were safe across 00:38:40.45\00:38:44.61 he turned and drowned there in me 00:38:49.29\00:38:50.26 I love that part but when the water 00:38:50.27\00:38:54.83 is rising and the rivers seems to wide to spend 00:38:54.86\00:39:02.34 Then I fall down on my knees 00:39:02.37\00:39:08.57 that's when I put it in Gods hands 00:39:09.90\00:39:14.87 In his hands, the mountain look much smaller 00:39:17.20\00:39:27.60 In his hands, the valleys not so long 00:39:27.63\00:39:41.66 When I have carried my burden as far as I can 00:39:41.69\00:39:55.76 Help me remember Lord to put it in your hands 00:39:55.79\00:40:08.29 So when I have carried my burden as far as I can 00:40:08.32\00:40:24.39 Help me remember Lord to put it in your hands 00:40:24.42\00:40:36.18 Thank you Dona. I'm thankful that 00:52:28.75\00:52:33.03 God put me, where I am and I have got to 00:52:33.06\00:52:36.57 do music because you know when I was 00:52:36.60\00:52:42.55 younger, young dad, young husband, 00:52:42.58\00:52:46.28 my dream was to move to Nashville 00:52:46.31\00:52:51.10 and get into country music. Well that 00:52:51.98\00:52:57.18 didn't happen, but the one thing that I would 00:52:57.21\00:53:00.71 change, I would do my best to be a better 00:53:00.74\00:53:05.60 dad and husband then I was, I mean I can't look back 00:53:05.63\00:53:09.29 and Ken and I think, you know, lot of people can't, 00:53:09.32\00:53:12.12 but some of them aren't very pleasant memories 00:53:12.15\00:53:15.90 that's what I wonder my family even speak to me. 00:53:15.93\00:53:17.78 I'm sure they does. They love you Joe, 00:53:18.84\00:53:21.25 I know that, I as far as myself is concerned 00:53:21.28\00:53:25.56 if I had to do it all over again I would do the 00:53:25.59\00:53:30.41 same thing as far as what I have done in 00:53:30.44\00:53:34.03 evangelism over the years, I would stay 00:53:34.06\00:53:36.15 right in that, I wouldn't change that, 00:53:36.18\00:53:38.35 that's something that's been very fulfilling 00:53:38.38\00:53:43.27 in my life and brought a lot of joy, 00:53:43.30\00:53:46.06 there certainly a lot of things that I 00:53:46.09\00:53:49.46 would have changed far as not 00:53:49.49\00:53:52.39 understanding one of the biggest problems 00:53:52.42\00:53:55.41 I had was understanding the difference 00:53:55.44\00:53:57.31 between what the Lord wanted me to 00:53:57.34\00:53:59.71 do and what they call the Lords work, 00:53:59.74\00:54:01.85 you know, and I realize it I probably Joe 00:54:01.88\00:54:05.24 didn't spend the time with my children and 00:54:05.27\00:54:08.17 my wife that I should have, but as far as 00:54:08.20\00:54:11.90 doing the work of evangelism I stayed right 00:54:11.93\00:54:15.31 there and I thank the Lord for the opportunity 00:54:15.34\00:54:19.15 he gave me to work in his vineyard 00:54:19.18\00:54:21.58 that's been a blessing. But aren't you glad 00:54:21.61\00:54:23.45 he doesn't give up on us. 00:54:23.48\00:54:24.92 Amen, I am so glad and so when we come 00:54:24.95\00:54:28.43 to the end, we are thankful, we are gonna 00:54:28.46\00:54:32.48 share with you Joe and Dona the song 00:54:32.51\00:54:35.60 entitled When I Come To The End. 00:54:35.63\00:54:37.75 When you come to the end of the day, 00:55:51.01\00:55:58.06 And the night calls your worries away, 00:55:58.09\00:56:07.61 Do you ever watch the setting sun, 00:56:07.64\00:56:17.92 And dream of things that you might have done? 00:56:17.95\00:56:26.66 Do you turn from your work with a smile? 00:56:26.69\00:56:33.50 Do you feel that it's all worth the while? 00:56:33.53\00:56:43.46 As you dream the twilight hours away, 00:56:43.49\00:56:53.83 When you come to the end of the day! 00:56:53.86\00:57:03.72 When you come to the end of the day! 00:57:03.75\00:57:16.66 Let's pray.
