It's entitle prepare to meet thy God. You know, 00:01:01.46\00:01:06.09 Pastor David Shinn and I and Joe, we've known each other 00:01:06.09\00:01:09.76 for what's going on the sea here probably close to 30 years 00:01:09.76\00:01:15.10 and we didn't know each other in create a role. We met each 00:01:15.10\00:01:20.14 other in college and he's been a dear friend. One time we took 00:01:20.14\00:01:23.95 a mission trip 00:01:23.95\00:01:25.31 to a country outside the United States and one name which one 00:01:25.31\00:01:29.65 and the transportation that we had was a little bit rough. 00:01:29.65\00:01:33.42 We're in these 15 passenger vans. And we called the one 00:01:33.42\00:01:36.89 puffer. We call the puffer because it overheated all the 00:01:36.89\00:01:39.66 time and we have to stop beside the road. Let it cool down and 00:01:39.66\00:01:43.83 we're in the tropics. And when it would rain, 00:01:43.83\00:01:47.70 we had to hold an umbrella inside of the van 00:01:47.70\00:01:51.41 to keep from getting wet. 00:01:51.41\00:01:53.48 And David and I were in the backseat and this van were all 00:01:53.48\00:01:56.95 crammed together. We're doing a little of choir trip were all 00:01:56.95\00:01:59.95 crammed together in the back seat of this 15 passenger van. 00:01:59.95\00:02:03.05 And it had no vinyl on the seat. It was just the the 00:02:03.05\00:02:06.92 yellow foam, right? 00:02:06.92\00:02:09.22 So when it rained and we're hot and sweaty and we all got out 00:02:09.22\00:02:12.99 of the van, we had these yellow stains all up and down the 00:02:12.99\00:02:15.46 backside of our white shirt. So great memories with Pastor 00:02:15.46\00:02:18.93 David Shinn. But he's a man of the word. He has course been a 00:02:18.93\00:02:24.27 pastor of a number of churches and he just loves people loves 00:02:24.27\00:02:29.11 campus ministry as well. But we're just so blessed to 00:02:29.11\00:02:31.98 have Pastor Davison here with us this evening. But before it 00:02:31.98\00:02:34.78 brings us a message, we have a Pastor Ryan Day bringing us the 00:02:34.78\00:02:38.69 special song. You call for the mountains and 00:10:50.35\00:10:54.02 rocks to fall on you and hide this from the face of him who 00:10:54.02\00:10:57.02 sits on the throne and from the wrath of the lamb. 00:10:57.02\00:11:00.59 So how do we prepare to meet God? How do we ensure 00:11:00.59\00:11:04.63 that we pick up right where we left off? 00:11:04.63\00:11:07.36 The answer is found in the book of Daniel. 00:11:07.36\00:11:12.63 Believe it or not. How do we know it's found in the book of 00:11:12.63\00:11:15.17 Daniel because we have the greatest book endorsement in 00:11:15.17\00:11:17.74 all of Scripture given by Jesus Christ himself. And if Jesus 00:11:17.74\00:11:21.74 gives you a book indoors, meant better perk up and pay 00:11:21.74\00:11:24.78 attention and take some notes. So here we find in Matthew 00:11:24.78\00:11:28.65 Chapter 20 foreigners, 15 open your bibles there to that great 00:11:28.65\00:11:32.59 end-time chapter in here. Jesus giving the best data 00:11:32.59\00:11:36.52 logical evidence isn't signs of the end. 00:11:36.52\00:11:40.20 And in there he gives a book endorsement. 00:11:40.20\00:11:44.33 He says if you're living in the end of time, 00:11:44.33\00:11:46.74 if you're going to be prepared to meet thy God, there's one 00:11:46.74\00:11:50.84 book. 00:11:50.84\00:11:52.24 >> That you need to read in particular now we need to read 00:11:52.24\00:11:54.64 them all. 00:11:54.64\00:11:56.21 >> But this one, Jesus says we need to especially pay 00:11:56.21\00:12:00.72 attention to 00:12:00.72\00:12:02.38 Matthew Chapter 20 foreigners 15. These are end-time prophecies and the stories that 00:15:13.64\00:15:18.18 are interwoven with in this book 00:15:18.18\00:15:21.52 are characteristics that we are to avoid and emulate. In the 00:15:21.52\00:15:26.55 end of time, 00:15:26.55\00:15:27.76 there are 8 stories, 6 of the stories characteristics that we 00:15:27.76\00:15:32.66 are to seek to emulate. 00:15:32.66\00:15:35.10 2 of the stories are characteristics that we are to 00:15:35.10\00:15:38.40 seek to avoid. 00:15:38.40\00:15:41.24 And this evening, 00:15:41.24\00:15:42.94 we're going to look at 2 stories very quickly and draw 00:15:42.94\00:15:46.11 out lessons for us practical applications that will help us 00:15:46.11\00:15:51.35 to prepare to meet our God. 00:15:51.35\00:15:54.98 So if your Bibles, 00:15:54.98\00:15:56.62 the book of Daniel 00:15:56.62\00:15:58.02 Daniel Chapter one, 00:15:58.02\00:16:00.59 well, you're turning there. Want to give you a little bit 00:16:00.59\00:16:02.76 of background on the book of Daniel. 00:16:02.76\00:16:04.79 The book of Daniel encapsulates the entire 70 year captivity. 00:16:04.79\00:16:09.93 Remember Hezekiah when he was visited by the babylonians 00:16:09.93\00:16:13.67 rather than sharing about God he shared all his well. He 00:16:13.67\00:16:17.41 shared his bank account is 401 K is assets in the stock 00:16:17.41\00:16:21.04 portfolio 00:16:21.04\00:16:24.38 and Isaiah went in to him and said because you did this, 00:16:24.38\00:16:31.02 your children, 00:16:31.02\00:16:32.59 we'll be Unix in the court of the king. 00:16:32.59\00:16:37.43 They will be carried away into captivity and Hezekiah 00:16:37.43\00:16:41.20 individual said, look, as long as it doesn't happen while I'm 00:16:41.20\00:16:43.87 alive, I'm OK 00:16:43.87\00:16:46.33 and so 00:16:46.33\00:16:47.60 has a Chi's. Descendants were taken away into captivity. 00:16:47.60\00:16:52.64 I E Daniel. So Daniel is taken away. 00:16:52.64\00:16:57.71 He is a you, Nic. How do we know that? Because he was 00:16:57.71\00:17:02.35 placed under the custody of the master of Unix. 00:17:02.35\00:17:07.99 You don't hear about Missus, Daniel, 00:17:07.99\00:17:11.99 so you can imagine 00:17:11.99\00:17:14.56 young person teenager, 00:17:14.56\00:17:17.07 16, 17 years of age, maybe 00:17:17.07\00:17:20.60 Im asking, laid 00:17:20.60\00:17:23.34 and taken on 1000 Mile March 00:17:23.34\00:17:27.58 from Jerusalem to Babylon 00:17:27.58\00:17:31.91 and he ends up there 00:17:31.91\00:17:33.72 at the University of Babylon. 00:17:33.72\00:17:36.05 Ideally 00:17:36.05\00:17:37.82 and Nebuchadnezzar begins process up systematic. In 00:17:37.82\00:17:43.22 culture, a church 00:17:43.22\00:17:45.06 brain watch. 00:17:45.06\00:17:47.13 He takes the soft approach, gives them a new name, gives 00:17:47.13\00:17:50.53 them a different diet. 00:17:50.53\00:17:52.03 And Daniel Chapter one 00:17:52.03\00:17:54.30 is a summary of the entire book in a way because it begins with 00:17:54.30\00:17:59.17 the captivity and ends with Cyrus. 00:17:59.17\00:18:02.04 And I believe that the rest of the book of Daniel would not be 00:18:02.04\00:18:06.11 possible if it wasn't for Daniel Chapter one, 00:18:06.11\00:18:11.39 you know the story 00:18:11.39\00:18:12.92 because the cafeteria 00:18:12.92\00:18:15.26 vivid imagination. Big Puffy chef hats. You know, talking 00:18:19.79\00:18:24.23 about 00:18:24.23\00:18:25.73 Michelin star Buffet. 00:18:25.73\00:18:29.44 Every delicacy you can imagine. 00:18:29.44\00:18:34.54 Do you think Daniel want some comfort food? 00:18:34.54\00:18:37.68 You better believe it. 1000 Mile March, 00:18:37.68\00:18:40.95 the mask you laid it 00:18:40.95\00:18:43.08 probably had his parents likely killed right in front of him. 00:18:43.08\00:18:49.62 And if you're anything like human nature, like forget this 00:18:49.62\00:18:52.06 religion stuff 00:18:52.06\00:18:53.83 when in Babylon 00:18:53.83\00:18:55.30 do as the babylonians do this, the least of my worries 00:18:55.30\00:18:59.90 pilot up. 00:18:59.90\00:19:02.50 But he says no, 00:19:02.50\00:19:05.37 he says now. 00:19:05.37\00:19:07.28 And you know the start 00:19:07.28\00:19:08.84 give me a 10 day test 00:19:08.84\00:19:11.28 and you go stands before males are 00:19:11.28\00:19:13.65 and now as our thinking is mine, these you guys are crazy. 00:19:13.65\00:19:16.15 What are you eating? 00:19:16.15\00:19:17.89 He said this is a slam dunk 00:19:17.89\00:19:19.75 and he goes in stands there 00:19:19.75\00:19:21.72 and Daniels face 00:19:21.72\00:19:23.46 looks like those commercials from oil of olay 00:19:23.46\00:19:26.03 [MUSIC] 00:19:26.03\00:19:29.06 hair. Looks like those pan teen commercials. You know, I'm 00:19:29.06\00:19:31.40 talking about light. 00:19:31.40\00:19:33.40 The breath doesn't stink. 00:19:40.94\00:19:44.45 Form 00:19:44.45\00:19:45.71 the elastic step going to pay trucks and profits. Prophets 00:19:45.71\00:19:49.32 and kings. 00:19:49.32\00:19:50.75 They stand out everybody else. Heres lost its shine cracking 00:19:50.75\00:19:56.16 skin foul breath. Nebuchadnezzar 00:19:56.16\00:20:00.36 the he's the guy that's over them. Mels Ares liked. 00:20:00.36\00:20:04.27 Keep on doing what you're doing 00:20:04.27\00:20:05.93 [MUSIC] 00:20:05.93\00:20:11.81 and then 00:20:11.81\00:20:15.28 the clinch 00:20:15.28\00:20:18.05 Dan Chapter one verse 17. 00:20:18.05\00:20:20.98 As for these young men, 00:20:20.98\00:20:23.82 God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and 00:20:23.82\00:20:26.65 wisdom. And Daniel had understanding, you know, 00:20:26.65\00:20:30.16 visions and dreams. 00:20:30.16\00:20:32.93 In other words, if you want to understand the prophecies of 00:20:32.93\00:20:36.10 Daniel, 00:20:36.10\00:20:37.33 you got to practice the temperance it. Dan, 00:20:37.33\00:20:41.54 let me say that again. 00:20:41.54\00:20:43.77 If you want to understand the prophecies of Daniel, 00:20:43.77\00:20:47.08 you got to practice the temperance of Daniel. 00:20:47.08\00:20:52.55 Now there's a theme that emerges here 00:20:52.55\00:20:55.42 and going to doctor John Peckham 00:20:55.42\00:20:57.95 used to be professor of systematic theology at Andrews 00:20:57.95\00:21:00.36 University uses a fancy word called bilateral. 00:21:00.36\00:21:06.03 Now bilateral is in contrast to unit left 00:21:06.03\00:21:10.40 unilaterally is like 00:21:10.40\00:21:12.03 one person makes a decision 00:21:12.03\00:21:14.20 and that's it. 00:21:14.20\00:21:17.11 Now when it comes to theology, a unilateral theology is 00:21:17.11\00:21:21.74 predestination 00:21:21.74\00:21:23.81 you following me. God makes a unilateral decision. 00:21:23.81\00:21:27.32 Your saved or lost your saved or lost and he decides he's 00:21:27.32\00:21:31.65 elect. 00:21:31.65\00:21:34.42 Although I sympathize with Calvin. I kindly disagree 00:21:34.42\00:21:36.79 because I believe in free will and choice. Right? 00:21:36.79\00:21:40.80 But in this one, 00:21:40.80\00:21:43.00 you see evidence of not unilateral 00:21:43.00\00:21:46.47 but bilateral. What's that bilateral 00:21:46.47\00:21:49.80 is is evidenced in the Hebrew nuances when it talks about, 00:21:49.80\00:21:55.08 you know, walking with got 00:21:55.08\00:21:57.41 in other words, you know, Walker's got the implication is 00:21:57.41\00:22:00.78 violent. 00:22:00.78\00:22:02.02 God takes us debt, 00:22:02.02\00:22:04.15 you know, takes a step. 00:22:04.15\00:22:06.55 God takes a step 00:22:06.55\00:22:08.52 and in up takes a step. 00:22:08.52\00:22:11.53 By the way, 00:22:11.53\00:22:13.40 the book of Daniel, you see that the Angel Gabriel comes 00:22:13.40\00:22:16.10 down and says, Daniel, you are highly favorite, 00:22:16.10\00:22:20.50 you know, got plays favorites. 00:22:20.50\00:22:22.80 Don't leave yet. 00:22:25.97\00:22:27.84 There is evidence that got actually has favorites. 00:22:32.28\00:22:36.58 Peter James and John 00:22:36.58\00:22:39.52 Joseph. 00:22:39.52\00:22:42.12 But here's the thing. 00:22:42.12\00:22:44.33 Everyone can be a favorite, 00:22:44.33\00:22:48.86 but not everyone 00:22:48.86\00:22:50.70 chooses to be in that bilateral relationship to be a favorite 00:22:50.70\00:22:55.67 praises name for that. 00:22:55.67\00:22:57.34 Don't you want to be a favorite 00:22:57.34\00:22:59.41 that God looks down from heaven? And since David Shinn 00:22:59.41\00:23:02.18 highly favored, I'm like all and praise God for that. 00:23:02.18\00:23:08.08 We're really interested in you. 00:23:08.08\00:23:10.79 Well, he's interested in everybody, 00:23:10.79\00:23:12.95 but not everyone chooses to be in that bilateral relationship 00:23:12.95\00:23:19.19 here. You see this evidence because God initiate got gives 00:23:19.19\00:23:24.63 council to Daniel, where did you get that from the book of 00:23:24.63\00:23:27.90 Leviticus in regards to diet 00:23:27.90\00:23:31.74 what he should put in his body 00:23:31.74\00:23:34.34 and he chooses in the cafeteria, got initiated by 00:23:34.34\00:23:37.68 giving revelation by giving light and he chooses and that 00:23:37.68\00:23:40.72 Kate, in that cafeteria to exercise his freedom of choice, 00:23:40.72\00:23:44.99 which God had given him. So you can't take any credit 00:23:44.99\00:23:47.59 for that 00:23:47.59\00:23:49.49 by saying I can't put that in my body 00:23:49.49\00:23:53.23 and then God response 00:23:55.96\00:23:59.03 by making him look better than everybody else. Now that's 00:23:59.03\00:24:02.27 cooperation. But I believe those a divine blessing in 00:24:02.27\00:24:04.67 that, too. 00:24:04.67\00:24:07.14 And then it says God gave them knowledge and skill in all 00:24:07.14\00:24:13.18 literature and wisdom. And Daniel had understanding in all 00:24:13.18\00:24:16.92 divisions and Dreams. 00:24:16.92\00:24:19.05 Ivy League 00:24:19.05\00:24:22.62 magna coup plot. 00:24:22.62\00:24:26.83 They come to the end of their testing 00:24:26.83\00:24:30.00 and these guys are like and easy ruse. They eat some weird 00:24:30.00\00:24:33.27 stuff. 00:24:33.27\00:24:34.74 [MUSIC] 00:24:34.74\00:24:36.40 Magna com. Lot Summa come lot. All of these guys, 00:24:36.40\00:24:42.11 the proof's in the pudding. 00:24:42.11\00:24:47.32 So we have this thing that emerges here in Daniel Chapter 00:24:47.32\00:24:51.45 one in preparation for the second coming of Jesus. We have 00:24:51.45\00:24:55.92 this idea and this notion of Temperance and its and Daniel 00:24:55.92\00:24:59.86 Chapter one 00:24:59.86\00:25:02.16 which indicate that I believe that Daniel had gone to that 00:25:02.16\00:25:06.47 cafeteria and said love me up on those pork chops 00:25:06.47\00:25:11.11 and that's quid whatever it is. I don't know. 00:25:11.11\00:25:17.45 That wouldn't be a book of Daniel. 00:25:17.45\00:25:20.08 And that's something 00:25:20.08\00:25:23.59 these are of age is page 101. 00:25:23.59\00:25:26.79 All who would perfect holiness and the fear of God 00:25:26.79\00:25:30.13 must learn the lessons of temperance and self-control. 00:25:30.13\00:25:34.23 This self discipline is essential to that mental 00:25:34.23\00:25:37.43 strength and spiritual insight that will enable us to 00:25:37.43\00:25:41.27 understand and to practice the sacred truths of God's word for 00:25:41.27\00:25:45.94 this reason. Temperance finds it place its place in the work 00:25:45.94\00:25:51.28 of preparation for Christ's second coming 00:25:51.28\00:25:55.25 as you hear that 00:25:55.25\00:25:57.29 now, let me be clear. 00:25:57.29\00:26:00.19 I don't believe in righteousness by 00:26:00.19\00:26:02.52 the innocent. 00:26:02.52\00:26:04.66 It's not like you can go ahead and say I'm the gun that says, 00:26:08.20\00:26:11.27 come on. 00:26:11.27\00:26:14.70 I don't believe in righteousness by vegetarianism 00:26:14.70\00:26:18.24 either. 00:26:18.24\00:26:22.98 But there's something that happens in your Christian 00:26:22.98\00:26:24.85 experience. 00:26:24.85\00:26:26.75 I want them to put on screen 00:26:26.75\00:26:28.52 a bird's eye view. The view of the sanctuary that we showed 00:26:28.52\00:26:31.95 this morning. 00:26:31.95\00:26:33.89 This is the path back to the throne of God. There you have 00:26:33.89\00:26:36.59 it on the screen. You can see that there is this this half 00:26:36.59\00:26:42.53 back to the throne of got 00:26:42.53\00:26:45.03 it used to be that Adam and Eve were in the most holy place in 00:26:45.03\00:26:48.60 Eaton before the fall. But the entire human race was placed 00:26:48.60\00:26:52.37 outside. So got brings us into the courtyard into the Holy 00:26:52.37\00:26:55.61 Place and into the most holy places, a progression that God 00:26:55.61\00:26:58.41 wants to bring us on. This is a kindergarten illustration that 00:26:58.41\00:27:01.28 got brings out. 00:27:01.28\00:27:03.49 He brings in and the first thing that you see is the altar 00:27:03.49\00:27:06.65 berndt's burnt-offering in praise got that's the first 00:27:06.65\00:27:09.46 thing. 00:27:09.46\00:27:10.86 There is grace. 00:27:10.86\00:27:12.53 There's a sure an CE 00:27:12.53\00:27:14.10 you come and you accept Jesus as your savior and Lord in your 00:27:14.10\00:27:18.77 name is written in the Lamb's book of Life. No questions 00:27:18.77\00:27:22.20 asked. 00:27:22.20\00:27:24.94 And if you're died today, 00:27:24.94\00:27:27.04 you're in the kingdom. 00:27:27.04\00:27:28.54 That's grace. 00:27:28.54\00:27:30.48 So is not about how far you get on planet Earth. It's about 00:27:30.48\00:27:33.88 being in the process. 00:27:33.88\00:27:35.78 So you come in accept Jesus as your savior and Lord, you're 00:27:35.78\00:27:39.79 baptize. But back on the screen, you can see the 00:27:39.79\00:27:42.22 progression here into the courtyard. 00:27:42.22\00:27:45.16 You accept Jesus as your savior and Lord you're baptized. 00:27:45.16\00:27:49.06 Then you come into the holy place and you have the lamp 00:27:49.06\00:27:51.90 stand. Yeah. The altar of showbread and the incense. 00:27:51.90\00:27:55.50 This is the other phase of the Christian experience. Now, 00:27:55.50\00:27:59.31 let me ask you a question. 00:27:59.31\00:28:01.58 Is it more important 00:28:01.58\00:28:03.78 to be born 00:28:03.78\00:28:05.45 or to grow after you're born? 00:28:05.45\00:28:09.28 Seems to be a little bit confusion about that. 00:28:09.28\00:28:12.32 When we were in Alaska, 00:28:20.33\00:28:23.03 my wife and I have been married 10 years and we 00:28:23.03\00:28:25.73 we're thinking like a 00:28:25.73\00:28:28.70 we don't want kids because we thought what a world to bring 00:28:28.70\00:28:31.94 kids into. 00:28:31.94\00:28:33.61 We thought about fostering 00:28:33.61\00:28:37.08 and 00:28:37.08\00:28:38.81 I don't know what is about Alaska. But like surprise, 00:28:38.81\00:28:40.88 surprise. 00:28:40.88\00:28:41.75 [MUSIC] 00:28:41.75\00:28:45.19 My wife's like I think I'm pregnant. I said, oh, 00:28:45.19\00:28:47.99 I said when double check this cycle off to Walgreens and I 00:28:47.99\00:28:51.49 get the most expensive 00:28:51.49\00:28:53.33 pregnancy test. I can fight. 00:28:53.33\00:28:55.63 I'm not going get some cheap brand. I'm going to get this 00:28:55.63\00:28:58.40 cost like $25 00:28:58.40\00:29:00.97 and I'm waiting for this thing to go off 00:29:00.97\00:29:03.27 being nice. All. Wow. 00:29:03.27\00:29:06.41 My wife and I were type a personality can be ready for 00:29:06.41\00:29:09.34 this birth 00:29:09.34\00:29:12.55 read every book mosque last breathing, everything. 00:29:12.55\00:29:18.19 And so 00:29:18.19\00:29:19.62 the birth pangs begin. 00:29:19.62\00:29:22.52 I even had an apt 00:29:22.52\00:29:24.79 that show the the frequency of the birth pangs and the the 00:29:24.79\00:29:30.20 contractions as they click, click, analytics graphs on the 00:29:30.20\00:29:34.20 whole thing. 00:29:34.20\00:29:36.10 52 hours later, 00:29:39.34\00:29:41.58 whether in the body or out of the body? I do not know. 00:29:49.38\00:29:53.36 And I'm not even giving birth. 00:29:56.19\00:29:58.53 I'm exhausted. But, you know, 00:29:58.53\00:30:04.33 baby comes price like cut the umbilical cord. I put on the 00:30:04.33\00:30:09.44 ceremony, a diaper market on the calendar. 00:30:09.44\00:30:13.68 And I'm like, oh, just kick back and relax now. 00:30:13.68\00:30:17.48 And the nurses like excuse me, you know that you have to feed 00:30:21.28\00:30:24.35 this baby every 2 hours. And I'm like, yeah, 95 right. 00:30:24.35\00:30:29.86 She's like 00:30:29.86\00:30:31.96 24 hours. 00:30:31.96\00:30:34.20 And then the sinking realization came over me 00:30:34.20\00:30:38.10 being born is one thing. 00:30:38.10\00:30:40.04 Praise God every year you have a birthday. 00:30:40.04\00:30:43.24 But now you've got to keep this baby a lot 00:30:43.24\00:30:45.71 and friends. 00:30:50.91\00:30:52.81 We have a lot of Christians 00:30:52.81\00:30:55.18 and for years and pampers 00:30:55.18\00:30:57.65 or even worse 00:31:00.69\00:31:02.46 in the NICU 00:31:02.46\00:31:06.53 growing after birth 00:31:06.53\00:31:10.03 is as important as being born. 00:31:10.03\00:31:13.64 There's something called failure to thrive. You heard 00:31:13.64\00:31:15.50 about it, a baby that doesn't gain weight doesn't grow to 00:31:15.50\00:31:18.51 something wrong. 00:31:18.51\00:31:20.84 You need to grow in Grayson in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus 00:31:20.84\00:31:23.78 Christ. 00:31:23.78\00:31:25.05 And so there needs to be progression. There needs to be 00:31:25.05\00:31:27.28 grow. 00:31:27.28\00:31:28.42 If we don't stop growing, if we stop growing, we're dying. 00:31:28.42\00:31:31.82 Something's wrong. In our Christian experience in needs 00:31:31.82\00:31:34.12 to be dynamic. 00:31:34.12\00:31:35.79 And so that second phase of our tradition experience as 00:31:35.79\00:31:40.50 exemplified in the whole, the place 00:31:40.50\00:31:43.77 is staying alive. After we become a life 00:31:43.77\00:31:49.87 article furniture in there, 00:31:49.87\00:31:52.84 the lamp stand in every day. The priest would come in to 00:31:52.84\00:31:56.24 call the place. Du Preez represents Jesus and he comes 00:31:56.24\00:32:00.08 with an oil. No oil represents the holy spirit and he feels 00:32:00.08\00:32:03.69 the lamp stand. The lamp stands represents us the church. 00:32:03.69\00:32:08.29 He feels it up and there's light 00:32:08.29\00:32:12.89 and one of the fruit of the spirit, 00:32:12.89\00:32:17.23 it's a fruit. It's a result 00:32:17.23\00:32:20.87 is temperance, 00:32:20.87\00:32:24.87 self-control. Now we can't manufacture it. It's a gift of 00:32:24.87\00:32:29.21 the spirit. 00:32:29.21\00:32:30.58 It's a fruit of the spirit, 00:32:30.58\00:32:33.55 but notice how it happens. The only spirits poured into 00:32:33.55\00:32:35.85 our lives 00:32:35.85\00:32:37.82 and one of the fruit, 00:32:37.82\00:32:39.65 his temper, 00:32:39.65\00:32:42.86 self-control. 00:32:42.86\00:32:44.36 Now it's interesting. 00:32:44.36\00:32:46.16 Then in the Holy Place, 00:32:46.16\00:32:49.53 there's no light. 00:32:49.53\00:32:51.63 There's no skylight. There's only one source of light. 00:32:51.63\00:32:54.10 I should say. 00:32:54.10\00:32:55.64 It's the lamp stand 00:32:55.64\00:32:58.47 now. Right in front of the lamp stand is the table of showbread 00:32:58.47\00:33:02.74 and the bread. The bread of life can represent the word. 00:33:02.74\00:33:06.21 The only way to see the bread if is if the lights are on 00:33:06.21\00:33:12.09 the following me. 00:33:12.09\00:33:13.72 The only way to see the bread is if the lights are on. 00:33:13.72\00:33:18.49 So if you want to see the bread, 00:33:18.49\00:33:23.77 the lights have to be on. 00:33:23.77\00:33:26.70 No, the spirit we need help. But one of the things that 00:33:26.70\00:33:29.84 helps us to see the bread 00:33:29.84\00:33:32.37 is the fruit of the spirit, one of which 00:33:32.37\00:33:37.91 you ever try to read the Bible 00:33:37.91\00:33:41.55 after getting your Thanksgiving meal 00:33:41.55\00:33:46.92 comatose, you wake up in a fog. You're like, oh, 00:33:46.92\00:33:51.06 there's a reason for that. 00:33:51.06\00:33:52.79 Because contrary to the last 2000 years of Christian 00:33:52.79\00:33:55.70 theology, which has separated the body and the soul and says 00:33:55.70\00:33:59.83 that this dichotomy, we are a soul. 00:33:59.83\00:34:06.41 >> And so in Christian theology, you can do whatever 00:34:06.41\00:34:08.44 you want 00:34:08.44\00:34:09.44 with your body, 00:34:09.44\00:34:11.15 talking about Christian theology, the evangelicals in 00:34:11.15\00:34:13.65 the product since my love. They have this dichotomy. 00:34:13.65\00:34:16.02 So like, look, this always spiritual. That's the part that 00:34:16.02\00:34:18.75 you really need to care about because the body doesn't 00:34:18.75\00:34:21.59 matter. You can do whatever you want with your body. 00:34:21.59\00:34:24.76 You can put it in it whatever you want, you can put on it 00:34:24.76\00:34:27.46 whatever you want, 00:34:27.46\00:34:28.83 it doesn't matter. 00:34:28.83\00:34:30.70 But guess what? You are a soul. 00:34:30.70\00:34:33.84 So when you put that thing, you knew 00:34:33.84\00:34:36.60 you put it in your soul. 00:34:36.60\00:34:39.47 >> And its use your understanding. 00:34:39.47\00:34:43.41 And in the end of time, 00:34:43.41\00:34:45.21 Jesus says that there's going to be a deception that if 00:34:45.21\00:34:49.62 possible, 00:34:49.62\00:34:51.19 good to see the very elect 00:34:51.19\00:34:55.22 what is the end to toe and to do for deception. 00:34:55.22\00:35:00.06 The truce, 00:35:00.06\00:35:02.16 which means that we need this, 00:35:02.16\00:35:05.13 which means that we can't be impaired. 00:35:05.13\00:35:09.24 I don't practice health reform 00:35:09.24\00:35:11.84 in order to be saved. 00:35:11.84\00:35:15.61 I do it because 00:35:15.61\00:35:17.51 I would have a clear mind 00:35:17.51\00:35:20.62 and I want to give glory to got 00:35:20.62\00:35:22.95 because he bought this with his blood 00:35:22.95\00:35:26.82 Romans chapter 12 verse one. I beseech you, therefore, 00:35:26.82\00:35:29.19 brother in by the mercies of God that you present your 00:35:29.19\00:35:31.96 bodies, a living sacrifice, hold the acceptable to God, 00:35:31.96\00:35:34.83 which is your reasonable service. 00:35:34.83\00:35:38.13 When you read the vibe, when you see the word there for one 00:35:38.13\00:35:40.54 preacher said, ask what it's therefore, it's a concluding 00:35:40.54\00:35:43.51 statement. In other words, premise, premise premise there 00:35:43.51\00:35:47.74 for 00:35:47.74\00:35:48.91 in Rahman's. He's just gone through the beauty of the 00:35:48.91\00:35:50.61 Gospel, gone to justification, sanctification and it's by Fay. 00:35:50.61\00:35:54.72 You can earn it 00:35:54.72\00:35:56.48 your saved by grace through faith. 00:35:56.48\00:35:59.75 And after this, he says, therefore, because of the 00:35:59.75\00:36:02.76 mercies of God, has Jesus been merciful to you as you giving 00:36:02.76\00:36:06.46 you a chance after chance, has he given opportunity after 00:36:06.46\00:36:09.56 opportunity? Well, Paula says, therefore, because of all the 00:36:09.56\00:36:13.64 mercies of God, give your I bought this 00:36:13.64\00:36:18.81 a living sacrifice, not Macy, aided dying, sacrifice, 00:36:18.81\00:36:24.38 hold the acceptable to got which is reasonable. 00:36:24.38\00:36:29.62 It's not unreasonable. It's not irrational. It's not legalism. 00:36:29.62\00:36:35.36 It's reasonable. 00:36:35.36\00:36:37.36 But there's an order to this. 00:36:37.36\00:36:39.53 Jesus gives himself for us 00:36:39.53\00:36:42.20 and were touched by his love. 00:36:42.20\00:36:44.53 And because of that, we respond and say, Lord, 00:36:44.53\00:36:48.34 I give you this 00:36:48.34\00:36:50.14 the best version of this as possible. 00:36:50.14\00:36:54.91 And that's Danielle 00:36:54.91\00:36:58.71 means God is my judge, Dan. Yeah, 00:36:58.71\00:37:05.52 we get else should I? 00:37:05.52\00:37:08.29 They have to see it. 00:37:08.29\00:37:10.73 And people think that legacy means lukewarm. 00:37:10.73\00:37:13.63 Les, to see a that's a characteristic legacy means 00:37:13.63\00:37:17.33 people, judge, 00:37:17.33\00:37:19.93 it's the last church we are they to see people judged 00:37:19.93\00:37:25.87 is a type of the last generation, 00:37:25.87\00:37:29.34 the characteristics that he has. 00:37:29.34\00:37:32.28 We are to emulate by the grace of God. 00:37:32.28\00:37:36.18 And there's going to be a people in the end of time that 00:37:36.18\00:37:38.65 say I love Jesus so much 00:37:38.65\00:37:41.52 my body, 00:37:41.52\00:37:42.69 it's hit us 00:37:42.69\00:37:44.46 and I can't put anything in here because this is the temple 00:37:44.46\00:37:47.50 of Scott 00:37:47.50\00:37:51.13 in the end of time 00:37:51.13\00:37:52.93 to be prepared for the second coming of Jesus to be prepared 00:37:52.93\00:37:56.84 to meet our God. 00:37:56.84\00:37:58.94 We're going to practice the temperance of Daniel because 00:37:58.94\00:38:02.31 we're going to need to and need to understand the prophecies of 00:38:02.31\00:38:06.65 Daniel. 00:38:06.65\00:38:07.95 Very quickly to our second story here, a new chapter 6, 00:38:07.95\00:38:12.42 Daniel Chapter 6. Now the book of Daniel 00:38:12.42\00:38:15.76 is in this unique way of perilous and parallel lives. 00:38:15.76\00:38:21.56 It's in a kayak stick structure. And there are 2 00:38:21.56\00:38:25.77 stories that are in parallel to each other. Daniel Chapter 3 00:38:25.77\00:38:32.61 and Daniel Chapter 6 00:38:32.61\00:38:35.41 are on the same theme. What is the theme of Daniel chapters? 00:38:35.41\00:38:38.68 3? What's the story? 00:38:38.68\00:38:41.48 The fiery Furnace worship. Remember the Daniels, 3 friends 00:38:41.48\00:38:45.79 on the the plane of Dura. There is a death decree that if 00:38:45.79\00:38:50.49 you don't worship the image, you'll be cast into the fiery 00:38:50.49\00:38:56.33 furnace. 00:38:56.33\00:38:58.60 Now, the person that is missing 00:38:58.60\00:39:01.30 is Daniel. 00:39:01.30\00:39:03.44 Some people may assume that Daniel was acting like he was 00:39:03.44\00:39:06.17 tying his shoes. 00:39:06.17\00:39:08.58 So just to take away any doubt 00:39:08.58\00:39:11.75 what Daniel would have done, I believe that maybe was away on 00:39:11.75\00:39:14.78 business. Maybe Nebuchadnezzar knew the type of individual 00:39:14.78\00:39:17.62 that he wasn't say, hey, can you can you just go on this 00:39:17.62\00:39:19.99 trip, please? 00:39:19.99\00:39:21.76 And you can see evidence that Daniel would have stood with 00:39:21.76\00:39:25.49 the 3 other he breeze. Why? Because Daniel Chapter 6, 00:39:25.49\00:39:29.40 the test comes to him except this time. Daniel is a senior 00:39:29.40\00:39:33.64 citizen. 00:39:33.64\00:39:35.14 He's lived through the entire seven-year captivity 00:39:35.14\00:39:39.04 and there he is in a new regime. 00:39:39.04\00:39:43.45 Another regime takes over 00:39:43.45\00:39:45.55 and they place Daniel, who was basically second in command in 00:39:45.55\00:39:48.35 the previous kingdom, second in command and the next one, 00:39:48.35\00:39:51.55 Daniel not only had I high, I Q 00:39:51.55\00:39:55.19 he had I eat you as well. 00:39:55.19\00:39:58.09 He was a loving and lovable Christian, a man by his grace. 00:39:58.09\00:40:02.30 And so in Daniel Chapter 6, we have this story 00:40:02.30\00:40:07.04 and it's familiar to all of us. 00:40:07.04\00:40:13.07 I have a 6 year-old 00:40:13.07\00:40:16.38 and a 2 year-old 00:40:16.38\00:40:18.55 and 00:40:18.55\00:40:21.68 we we go to the zoo quite often 00:40:21.68\00:40:27.09 for the kids. 00:40:27.09\00:40:28.99 It's amazing with. 00:40:28.99\00:40:30.26 It's amazing what you do when your parents 00:40:30.26\00:40:34.20 and 00:40:34.20\00:40:35.96 there have been several times 00:40:35.96\00:40:38.53 that I go to see these big cats 00:40:38.53\00:40:42.17 and can you imagine I just imagined myself accidentally 00:40:42.17\00:40:46.01 said nightmares. I have. I don't know. I think these 00:40:46.01\00:40:48.01 thoughts but 00:40:48.01\00:40:49.24 being like dropped in that cage. 00:40:49.24\00:40:53.28 Have you seen the paws of these big cats 00:40:53.28\00:40:57.65 during that story of Siegfried Roy number years ago, 00:40:57.65\00:41:02.42 he had tame this this this tiger from an early age 00:41:02.42\00:41:07.73 and it is this freak accident. I think he tripped over 00:41:07.73\00:41:11.63 something and sentence something that that prey in 00:41:11.63\00:41:14.67 sting kick to accept. This cat wasn't just this little 00:41:14.67\00:41:17.61 company. More is full grown any tripped and instantly that cat 00:41:17.61\00:41:22.64 launched and you know where they go, they go, right. 00:41:22.64\00:41:26.98 I mean, I can do the job killer 00:41:26.98\00:41:29.95 and shook him like a rag doll. He survived. 00:41:29.95\00:41:33.92 He survived. And I remember him doing an interview shortly 00:41:33.92\00:41:36.46 thereafter. I mean, he looked a shell of himself. 00:41:36.46\00:41:39.79 So here's the decree. Look worship the king for 30 days. 00:41:39.79\00:41:45.40 You're going to be in with those big cats. 00:41:45.40\00:41:49.04 So here is Daniel 00:41:49.04\00:41:53.48 had been doing the same rhythm, the same routine, his entire 00:41:53.48\00:41:58.15 captivity. 00:41:58.15\00:42:00.32 How do we know that diverse as that he did this since his 00:42:00.32\00:42:03.49 early days now? Now the question is why would he do it 00:42:03.49\00:42:06.69 this particular way? The Bible says that he would open his 00:42:06.69\00:42:09.16 windows toward Ruislip. 00:42:09.16\00:42:11.36 Why would he do that? 00:42:11.36\00:42:12.99 Because Solomon in his dead, a cut or a prayer. When you read 00:42:12.99\00:42:16.33 about in chronicles, it's a beautiful prayer. 00:42:16.33\00:42:19.63 He prays this particular prayer and he says. 00:42:19.63\00:42:22.50 >> Lord, if your people are unfaithful and led away to 00:42:22.50\00:42:27.38 captivity, he knew that because of Deuteronomy 00:42:27.38\00:42:30.61 Moses had prophesied. If they're not faithful, they're 00:42:30.61\00:42:32.88 going to be led away into captivity. So he praises per 00:42:32.88\00:42:36.05 Solomon is dead, a cut or a prayer says, Lord, 00:42:36.05\00:42:39.49 if our people are led away into captivity, may they pray 00:42:39.49\00:42:44.23 toward? 00:42:44.23\00:42:45.03 >> This place? 00:42:45.03\00:42:48.16 And I believe that every day of Daniel's existence in Babylon, 00:42:48.16\00:42:53.70 he would get up and have the same rhythm and ritual and 00:42:53.70\00:42:57.41 routine 3 times a day and you would pray toward Jerusalem, 00:42:57.41\00:43:02.58 praying for deliverance, praying for the restoration of 00:43:02.58\00:43:05.55 his people. 00:43:05.55\00:43:07.95 And you can imagine 00:43:07.95\00:43:09.62 the decree is out 00:43:09.62\00:43:11.15 and he notes 00:43:11.15\00:43:12.92 what's about to happen. 00:43:12.92\00:43:14.82 Can you imagine the pressure, 00:43:14.82\00:43:19.09 the tendency to rationalize in his mind? 00:43:19.09\00:43:23.33 I mean, I would be tempted to think liked. 00:43:23.33\00:43:27.64 I'm going to pray 00:43:27.64\00:43:29.44 when my windows closed today. 00:43:29.44\00:43:33.07 God understands, 00:43:33.07\00:43:35.21 by the way, I would be so much more effective 00:43:35.21\00:43:40.02 second in command and in the stomach of a lion. 00:43:40.02\00:43:44.45 So many ways to to rationalize. I've served. Got all these 00:43:44.45\00:43:47.59 years. Surely you understand, after all, I don't need open my 00:43:47.59\00:43:50.89 windows today. God knows my heart, 00:43:50.89\00:43:55.40 but he didn't 00:43:55.40\00:43:59.50 keeping his windows closed. That day 00:43:59.50\00:44:03.14 would be a statement to the rest of the world 00:44:03.14\00:44:08.41 that he was bowing to the pressure 00:44:08.41\00:44:11.31 and ultimately this honoring he's caught 00:44:11.31\00:44:15.95 senior says 00:44:15.95\00:44:18.09 well into his 80's, possibly his 90's. 00:44:18.09\00:44:23.22 Imagine the scene. 00:44:23.22\00:44:25.09 Let's imagine these guys with these ear pieces. I know they 00:44:29.56\00:44:31.70 didn't have back then, you know, 00:44:31.70\00:44:34.04 SWAT team cattle are everything. 00:44:34.04\00:44:37.97 Is he going to do it? Just watch. 00:44:37.97\00:44:41.14 And you know, it's the moment he kneels. 00:44:44.45\00:44:47.48 He's probably a dead man 00:44:47.48\00:44:50.05 break in their own, 00:44:53.32\00:44:55.16 read him his Miranda rights. 00:44:55.16\00:44:58.23 Here's the Punchline. 00:45:01.70\00:45:05.20 I would rather die, 00:45:05.20\00:45:07.44 then misses devotions. 00:45:07.44\00:45:11.34 Let me say that again, 00:45:11.34\00:45:13.04 Daniel would rather die. Then miss his devotions. 00:45:13.04\00:45:19.58 A man Daniel would rather be eaten by a lion. 00:45:19.58\00:45:24.65 Then miss his time with God. 00:45:24.65\00:45:28.46 What's the reason why we miss our devotions 00:45:28.46\00:45:31.06 [MUSIC] 00:45:31.06\00:45:36.30 too much pickles. Peanut butter and pizza. The night before 00:45:36.30\00:45:40.77 the snooze button. 00:45:40.77\00:45:43.97 Facebook you to checking our phone first thing in the 00:45:43.97\00:45:47.74 morning. 00:45:47.74\00:45:49.71 Thousands of reasons to miss our devotions. 00:45:49.71\00:45:54.28 But Daniel, 00:45:54.28\00:45:55.55 who is a type of the last generation that it can be 00:45:55.55\00:45:57.65 prepared to meet got 00:45:57.65\00:46:00.29 devotions 00:46:00.29\00:46:01.89 the highest priority of his life 00:46:01.89\00:46:06.06 dear to him than life itself. 00:46:06.06\00:46:10.00 It said that 00:46:12.90\00:46:14.57 conversations, 00:46:14.57\00:46:16.91 the relationship 00:46:21.14\00:46:23.35 as one book, I have called fears conversations 00:46:23.35\00:46:26.92 and she says that our lives change slowly 00:46:26.92\00:46:31.85 then dramatically. 00:46:31.85\00:46:33.52 One conversation at a time 00:46:33.52\00:46:37.43 you think about your life, there's certain conversations 00:46:37.43\00:46:41.23 your entire life. 00:46:41.23\00:46:44.13 Those one has been that was always upset with his wife 00:46:44.13\00:46:46.94 because she always wanted to talk about the relationship and 00:46:46.94\00:46:49.54 being the typical man. He says, why do we need to talk about a 00:46:49.54\00:46:51.71 relationship? But we just have a relationship. 00:46:51.71\00:46:55.44 And then he realized 00:46:55.44\00:46:57.08 that the conversation 00:46:57.08\00:46:59.15 once the relationship, 00:46:59.15\00:47:01.88 yeah, people in your life that you stop talking to 00:47:01.88\00:47:06.52 relationships over 00:47:06.52\00:47:08.79 because the communion, the conversation is the 00:47:08.79\00:47:12.69 relationship 00:47:12.69\00:47:14.73 our devotional time. 00:47:14.73\00:47:17.23 It's very simple. 00:47:17.23\00:47:19.00 Got talks to us through his word. 00:47:19.00\00:47:23.07 We talked back to God in prayer. 00:47:23.07\00:47:27.21 This is the conversation, 00:47:27.21\00:47:30.65 the conversation, 00:47:30.65\00:47:33.31 the relationship. 00:47:33.31\00:47:35.92 There's 3 things that emerge from Daniel Chapter 6 in verse 00:47:35.92\00:47:39.22 10. Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went 00:47:39.22\00:47:42.32 home and in his upper room with his Windows open, torturous 00:47:42.32\00:47:45.26 mean out down on his knees and prayed 3 times that day 00:47:45.26\00:47:49.63 and gave thanks before God as his custom wise. Since his 00:47:49.63\00:47:54.10 early days, he had a rhythm routine and ritual. Same time, 00:47:54.10\00:47:58.54 same place. Same way. 00:47:58.54\00:48:03.08 We should have 00:48:03.08\00:48:04.81 a way 00:48:04.81\00:48:06.41 any system 00:48:06.41\00:48:08.48 of having our devotions every single day. 00:48:08.48\00:48:13.96 It should be like clockwork. 00:48:13.96\00:48:16.12 It should be like brushing our teeth. 00:48:16.12\00:48:18.63 I have this 00:48:22.53\00:48:23.90 this ritual 00:48:23.90\00:48:25.97 the way that you succeed in the morning. 00:48:30.21\00:48:34.21 It starts the night before. 00:48:34.21\00:48:36.85 You know that Tim Cook 00:48:36.85\00:48:39.88 gets up at 3.45. am every single day? You know, Tim Cook, 00:48:39.88\00:48:44.09 Tim Cook is the CEO of Apple. 00:48:44.09\00:48:47.56 Tim Cook gets up at 03:45AM. every single day 00:48:47.56\00:48:54.66 because he's committed to Apple. 00:48:54.66\00:48:57.30 It's wrapped. 00:48:57.30\00:48:58.67 >> The CEO of Disney is up before 05:00AM every single 00:48:58.67\00:49:03.30 day. And yet we have an audience with the King of Kings 00:49:03.30\00:49:06.84 and the Lord of Lords. 00:49:06.84\00:49:11.21 We should get ready for that. 00:49:11.21\00:49:13.72 And it begins the night before. 00:49:13.72\00:49:16.02 And so I have a read a rhythm and ritual 00:49:16.02\00:49:19.02 for how I go to bed at night and it's very simple. 00:49:19.02\00:49:22.19 One of the things is my my cell phone. 00:49:22.19\00:49:26.33 >> Sit next to my lab table on by my bed. Studies have shown 00:49:26.33\00:49:29.80 that if you have that thing by your bed, your sleep quality 00:49:29.80\00:49:32.87 goes down, just having it there. The blue light that you 00:49:32.87\00:49:36.10 get from that phone 00:49:36.10\00:49:37.64 many times we go to sleep with that thing. All right. 00:49:37.64\00:49:40.68 They say a minimum of half an hour. More ideally an hour 00:49:40.68\00:49:43.71 before you're going to sleep. You should have no screen time 00:49:43.71\00:49:46.51 because it messes 00:49:46.51\00:49:48.95 your sleet. 00:49:48.95\00:49:53.39 You know, I'm an administrator and 00:49:53.39\00:49:56.66 I need to be present with my family. I was constantly 00:49:56.66\00:49:58.99 getting interrupted my phone. So you know where I park my 00:49:58.99\00:50:01.23 phone when I come home in the garage. 00:50:01.23\00:50:05.10 That's real. 00:50:05.10\00:50:06.43 It's plugged in in the garage. Now 00:50:06.43\00:50:09.34 at intervals during the evening. I go out there to 00:50:09.34\00:50:12.07 check it 00:50:12.07\00:50:15.11 cold out there. And I'm just like, oh, I need to catch up on 00:50:15.11\00:50:17.51 this and I put it back. 00:50:17.51\00:50:20.25 We need a way to manage our phones in. 00:50:20.25\00:50:23.22 It's taking over our lives. 00:50:23.22\00:50:27.06 I do something with my phone. Another thing is 00:50:27.06\00:50:30.59 the ritual. I brush my teeth. A shower after the game. 00:50:30.59\00:50:33.66 Get out a shower. Get dressed. But I do something. I grab my 00:50:33.66\00:50:37.07 clothes from the night before. 00:50:37.07\00:50:40.44 Not the 94th that I'm going with the next day. 00:50:40.44\00:50:44.31 It's been a long day. 00:50:44.31\00:50:46.78 I grab my clothes 00:50:46.78\00:50:48.68 that then I'm going to air the next day and I put them out 00:50:48.68\00:50:51.31 there on the kitchen table and I put my Bible. I put a 00:50:51.31\00:50:55.18 flashlight 00:50:55.18\00:50:57.85 and I put a notebook 00:50:57.85\00:50:59.35 on the kitchen table that way. I get up in the morning 00:50:59.35\00:51:03.79 talking play, grab my clothes, put it on, grab my Bible, 00:51:03.79\00:51:07.60 grab my flashlight. Its goal 00:51:07.60\00:51:11.50 because that's the most important appointment by day. 00:51:11.50\00:51:15.54 And I want to be ready. 00:51:15.54\00:51:17.57 >> I want to be ready. Rhythm, routine ritual. But you need to 00:51:17.57\00:51:22.21 do what works for you. 00:51:22.21\00:51:25.78 >> This is how we prepare for the second coming of Jesus. 00:51:25.78\00:51:29.25 We talked about what Jesus would walk in this room right 00:51:29.25\00:51:31.89 now. What's going to be our interaction with him? Is it 00:51:31.89\00:51:34.49 going to be awkward is going to be like I know you I don't 00:51:34.49\00:51:37.16 know. You kind of know you 00:51:37.16\00:51:39.43 if we spend time with God every day in our personal devotions 00:51:39.43\00:51:43.43 and throughout the day in our thoughts and medications 00:51:43.43\00:51:47.00 when he comes, we're going to be like 00:51:47.00\00:51:50.11 right where we left off 00:51:54.08\00:51:59.65 some tips for having our morning devotions 00:51:59.65\00:52:03.79 number one. 00:52:03.79\00:52:06.12 This is the prayer that we should always pray is found in 00:52:06.12\00:52:08.96 the book steps to Christ Page 70 00:52:08.96\00:52:12.09 consecrate yourself to God in the morning. 00:52:12.09\00:52:15.03 Make this your very first work. 00:52:15.03\00:52:17.53 Let your prayer be. Take me us O Lord. As holding 9, I lay on 00:52:17.53\00:52:22.67 my plans at thy feet. Use meat a day in nice service. Abide 00:52:22.67\00:52:27.44 with me and let all my work be wrought in D this is a daily 00:52:27.44\00:52:31.71 matter each morning. Consecrate yourself to God for that day 00:52:31.71\00:52:35.22 surrender all your plans to him to be carried out to be given 00:52:35.22\00:52:38.69 up as his providence shell indicate this day by day, 00:52:38.69\00:52:42.49 you may be giving your life into the hands of God and 00:52:42.49\00:52:45.46 that's your life will be molded more and more after the life of 00:52:45.46\00:52:49.36 crime. Just when you get out 00:52:49.36\00:52:51.80 kneel beside your bed and say Lord, today I R s 00:52:51.80\00:52:58.14 I surrender 00:52:58.14\00:53:00.18 help me to be willing to be made willing. 00:53:00.18\00:53:03.38 Give me the gift of repentance. You know, repentance is a gift 00:53:03.38\00:53:06.75 prevented, says sorrow for San Ana.
