Perhaps the most central
text - Bible text that is -

deep into Genesis 3:15 tonight.

This is
definitely a covenant text.

But what we see happening here

is Jesus is
making a proclamation.

He's making a
powerful declaration

in which He is communicating
something that will forever

go on between the
woman and the serpent

and the Seed of the woman all

Jesus is speaking to the serpent

and this is what He says:

This text is, as I said,
probably the most central text

in all of Scripture because
everything that comes after it

is connected to it. You cannot
properly understand the story

of Scripture. You cannot
properly understand the great

prophetic themes of Daniel
and Revelation if you don't

properly understand Genesis
chapter 3 verse 15. In fact,

the same characters that
you find in the 3rd chapter of

Genesis are found all the
way at the very end of the Bible

in the 12th
chapter of Revelation.

And we see there very
carefully... very clearly that

because sin entered into
the world because man allowed
00:09:47.88\00:09:51.59
sin to be brought
into the human race

God now had to make a
declaration of this great

spiritual war that would go
on between man and the enemy.

That is, of
course, Satan himself.

In fact, he would
through a very special system

that we'll come to know
as the sacrificial system,

which by the way was established
right here in Genesis chapter 3.

We see God had to
bring this about to show

the important consequences
and results of the sin

that Adam and Eve had
allowed into the world.

In fact, we know that famous

which makes it very clear to
us as Jesus made it very clear

to Adam and Eve in
the garden that day

for the Bible
says in Romans 6.23:

My friends, it's vitally import-
ant that we understand this

and tonight's message
Christ in the Sanctuary

I believe will help
us to further understand

why God gave us the sanctuary
00:10:59.02\00:11:01.69
and what the sanctuary system
- that great sacrificial system

found within the
sanctuary - is really all about.

In fact, it's so powerful
to see the sacrificial system

established because right
there again in Genesis chapter 3
00:11:14.17\00:11:17.14
and the 21st verse we
see as God has just declared
00:11:17.34\00:11:21.14
openly that there's going
to be enmity between the woman
00:11:21.34\00:11:24.01
and the serpent and between
her Seed and the seed of the
00:11:24.21\00:11:26.48
serpent. We see
very, very, very clearly
00:11:26.68\00:11:28.78
that in verse 21
of Genesis chapter 3
00:11:28.98\00:11:31.35
God did a
powerful powerful work.
00:11:31.55\00:11:34.39
Genesis 3:21 says this:
00:11:34.59\00:11:36.79
You see, they were previously
clothed with figs that they had
00:11:45.93\00:11:50.81
made themselves.
00:11:51.07\00:11:52.41
But where did Jesus get these
skins? Of course this right here

would have been the
very first literal death
00:11:56.61\00:11:59.18
in the garden
there... in that garden scene

as Jesus Christ would have
taken the life, of course, of a
00:12:02.45\00:12:05.45
lamb and He would clothe them
with the skins of that lamb.

And of course, that
lamb is central because

as the book of
Revelation makes it very clear
00:12:12.03\00:12:13.86
the Lamb of God that was slain
from the foundation of the world

that lamb pointed to no
other person than that of
00:12:17.37\00:12:20.54
Jesus Christ and the
work that He would do
00:12:20.74\00:12:22.80
to redeem man... LOST
man... from their sins.

In fact, this sacrificial
scene that we just began with

is made even more clear in
the great beautiful passage

that we find in
Patriarchs and Prophets

page 68. I want to read
it. It's a little lengthy

but it's powerful to see these
words and to put it on display

very clearly for everyone
to understand from the context

and from the
perspective of Adam himself,

right? Notice what
this text says. It says:

So right there in the garden
is where God actually initiated

and introduced the
sacrificial system.

Many people think that it
came later in the time of Moses

but when God introduced the
sanctuary, the literal building

of the sanctuary which we're
going to talk about tonight

no doubt, but I want
to make it very very clear

my friend, when we're asking
the question: "Who Is Jesus? "

first of all we need
to start at its origin.

We need to start at
the beginning of the story

and understand that
God's plan of redemption

which only could come
through no other person

than Jesus Christ Himself

was introduced right there
in that garden of paradise.

But it wasn't long
until this sacrificial system

became a little blurry...
it became a little skewed.

Things began to
change as time passed

with the descendants of Adam.

In fact, this very point
is made clear in another part

of Patriarchs and Prophets,

Notice what it says. It says:

And so count about
2500 years or so past Adam -

and you start to see according
to history, according to

the prophet here, we see very
clearly that the sacrificial

system began to lose
its meaning as time went on

and man began to fall
further away from God.

God would then bring
through during the time of Moses

He would introduce a
more definitive understanding,

a more meaningful understanding
of what that sacrificial service

meant to the people as He would
give more definite instruction.

And so we see
that there came a time

Moses and He said right there

at Mt. Sinai. In Exodus

Now let's make this very clear:

God wants to be with His people.

If you could sum
up all the Scripture,

about known as the Holy Bible,

who loves His people

He wanted to be with

It wasn't His plan that
they would be separated.

We see very clearly right there
in Genesis in the very first

2 chapters this beautiful
perfect uninterrupted communion

between God and man just
as God intended it to be.

But because of sin
it caused a separation.

And so now we see God
right here in Exodus chapter 25.

He's pouring His heart
out to Moses right there atop

of Mt. Sinai. He says: "Look,
I want to be with My people.

Let them make Me a sanctuary

dwell and be with My people. "

Now there's a purpose to
this which we're going to get to

I believe the answer
is found very clearly

You see, this same God
that was speaking to Moses

atop of Mt. Sinai he
had an encounter with

before in Exodus chapter 3.

It's that famous
burning bush scene

the first time addressed

by the God of
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

ancestors... his very Creator.

at the burning bush when Moses
said: "Look, Lord, You want

these people on Your behalf?

Who in the world am I
going to tell them You are? "

them I AM WHO I AM. "

we can even be more definitive

as that lamb that was slain

that ultimate sacrifice.

ourselves at that point.
