hour is Revelation 14:10:

God's Holy Wrath. And
let me put it this way:

gospel of God's holy wrath

and fire and brimstone.
And believe it or not,

it is good news.

of Jesus and he was glad.

ted in the sanctuary system

fulfilled in the death, burial,

resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The gospel - the everlasting
gospel - is the foundation

Then the second
angel comes along

Satan's errors are crumbling
and Babylon has fallen.

Now the third angel
comes along with a dire warning

or receives his mark in his

their choice

You know, I grew up
fearing God the Father.

All I ever heard about the
Father was about His wrath.

And people twisted scriptures

to make Him seem
demanding and severe.

And I hope in

that we are going to
put that fallacy to rest.

So let's pray. Heavenly
Father, we come before You

But the most important thing
in your life is what you believe

and character of God.

character of God is critical.

Do you see Him
as a loving Father?

Do you see the God
of the Old Testament

portrayed with different
characteristics of the God of

Do you realize that Jesus came

to reveal the Father?
To show us the Father?

And Hebrews 1:3 says that
He is the exact representation

of the Father's character,
of His nature and His being.

So as loving and kind
and gentle as Jesus was

that's the Father.

You know, it is sad but
many religious denominations

view their picture of God
as through a kaleidoscope.

a kaleidoscope is?

That little cylinder
thing that you twist the bottom.

It's got broken pieces of glass

and as you twist it
makes different patterns.

Many religious denominations
take Bible fragments;

they put them
together to come up and reflect

a disjointed picture of God.

Many Christians base their
beliefs on denominational creeds
00:12:27.51\00:12:33.08
and on traditions of men

rather than making the
Bible their rule of faith.

And we have to remember
God's thoughts are higher

than our thoughts, are they not?

His Word is settled;
it stands firm forever.

And we have to put
away preconceived opinions.

You know, the things that
we thought were true about God

because they can
insulate our mind against truth.

And we've got to put those away

search the scriptures

to verify that
what we believe is true.

this is the way much of the

religious world views God. But
what about the secular world?

What is their picture of God?

I know
intellectually honest atheists

who have come to scripture

to study with an admitted bias

that they wanted to prove that

God was nothing
more than fiction.

And you know what has happened?

They have found proof
of the existence of God.

The evidence of God.

They have seen in
scripture the beauty of His love

and they've become Seventh-
day Adventist Christians.

But now there are
others in the secular world

who are atheists and agnostics

who actually started
with a Christian background.

But what happened is
they had erroneous teachings

that painted God as
a reprehensible being

and they turned
their back on God

concluding that the Bible
was nothing more than fiction.

Are you familiar with

atheist Richard Dawkins?

Not Stephen... Oh boy, I
always get them confused...

who was the theoretical
physicist that just died.

embraced Christianity

He has become a full-fledged
supporter of Darwin's theory

Now let's look in his

converted to Christianity;

he became a very
popular evangelist.

But along the way
he began to settle into

a theologically and socially

more liberal stream.

And as he did he began to doubt

and he lost his faith.

himself to be an agnostic.

who doesn't claim either

man who was an evangelist

language, our understanding

the essence of God's character
