[intense music] 00:00:01.36\00:00:03.87 Welcome back to session #2, the morning presentations. 00:00:14.51\00:00:19.91 We want to continue studying in this session 00:00:20.75\00:00:23.42 what we started last time, which is the study 00:00:24.29\00:00:26.59 of Revelation chapter 10. We got to page 248 00:00:26.69\00:00:31.06 in our last study together. I'm hoping to be able 00:00:31.83\00:00:34.86 to finish this particular lesson in this session 00:00:34.96\00:00:39.80 so that this afternoon, we can get to the issue 00:00:40.24\00:00:43.20 of prophesying again and measuring the temple. 00:00:43.30\00:00:46.37 So, we're gonna begin at the bottom of page 00:00:46.94\00:00:48.94 248. In the middle of the page, three points: 00:00:49.01\00:00:53.65 #1) The seven thunders are a delineation of 00:00:54.55\00:00:58.29 events that happen between 1842 and 1844. 00:00:58.39\00:01:02.02 #2) The people were not supposed to know the 00:01:02.89\00:01:06.63 message that the thunders uttered. And #3) The 00:01:06.73\00:01:10.33 reason why they were not to know what the thunders 00:01:10.40\00:01:12.80 uttered is because their faith needed to be tested. 00:01:12.87\00:01:15.94 Now, what does all this mean? The message of 00:01:16.44\00:01:19.71 the seven thunders told John that those who 00:01:19.81\00:01:23.55 proclaim the judgment hour message would be 00:01:23.65\00:01:26.68 disappointed when Jesus failed to come in 1843, 00:01:26.75\00:01:31.72 or the spring of 1844. As is well-known by 00:01:32.25\00:01:36.32 informed Seventh-day Adventists, Miller originally 00:01:36.39\00:01:40.36 believed that Jesus was gonna come about the 00:01:40.93\00:01:44.37 year 1843. Unfortunately, Miller and his associates 00:01:44.47\00:01:49.20 failed to reckon that there is no year 0 00:01:50.07\00:01:54.28 between 1 B.C. and 1 A.D. And therefore, they were 00:01:55.21\00:02:00.32 disappointed when Jesus did not come in 1843. 00:02:00.38\00:02:03.92 Ellen White wrote about this particular disappointment. 00:02:04.79\00:02:07.66 "I saw the people of God in joyful expectation," 00:02:08.56\00:02:12.96 this is in 1843, "looking for their Lord." Now, 00:02:13.06\00:02:18.27 notice this: "But God designed to prove them." 00:02:18.37\00:02:22.34 What is a synonym of 'proof'? Test! "God 00:02:23.84\00:02:28.61 designed to prove them. His hand covered a 00:02:28.68\00:02:32.85 mistake in the reckoning of the prophetic periods." 00:02:32.91\00:02:35.72 Would that be kind of like the sealing of the 00:02:36.15\00:02:37.55 thunders-what the thunders uttered? Absolutely! 00:02:37.65\00:02:40.86 "His hand covered a mistake in the reckoning 00:02:42.12\00:02:43.96 of the prophetic periods." This is the same thing 00:02:44.09\00:02:48.56 as the sealing of the seven thunders. If John 00:02:48.66\00:02:51.37 had written down what the thunders said, the 00:02:51.47\00:02:53.17 people would not have been what? Would not 00:02:53.27\00:02:55.60 have been disappointed. "Those who were looking 00:02:55.67\00:02:58.41 for their Lord did not discover this mistake, 00:02:58.51\00:03:01.24 and the most learned men who oppose the 00:03:02.14\00:03:04.65 time also failed to see it. God designed that 00:03:04.75\00:03:10.75 His people should meet with the disappointment." 00:03:10.85\00:03:12.89 Who was the one who told John to seal the 00:03:14.99\00:03:16.79 thunders? God did. So why didn't the people 00:03:16.89\00:03:21.63 understand? Because God designed it that way. 00:03:21.70\00:03:24.60 Are you following me or not? I continue, 00:03:24.67\00:03:28.47 "The time passed, and those who had looked 00:03:28.57\00:03:31.21 with joyful expectation for their Savior were 00:03:31.34\00:03:34.18 sad and disheartened." Now, notice; there's 00:03:34.28\00:03:38.18 another group. "While those who had not loved 00:03:38.28\00:03:41.12 the appearing of Jesus but embraced the message 00:03:41.22\00:03:43.52 through fear were pleased that He did not come at 00:03:43.62\00:03:46.62 the time of expectation. Their profession had not 00:03:46.72\00:03:50.53 affected their heart and purified the life. 00:03:50.66\00:03:52.69 The passing of the time was well-calculated to 00:03:53.53\00:03:55.86 reveal such hearts. They were the first to 00:03:55.96\00:03:59.23 turn and ridicule the sorrowful, disappointed 00:03:59.33\00:04:01.70 ones who really loved the appearing of their 00:04:01.80\00:04:03.84 Savior. I saw the wisdom of God in proving His 00:04:03.94\00:04:10.21 people and giving them a searching test." Do 00:04:10.31\00:04:15.75 you remember what Ellen White stated - that their 00:04:15.85\00:04:18.45 faith must be necessarily be what? Tested. Are you 00:04:18.55\00:04:22.09 following this? So she says, "I saw the wisdom 00:04:22.19\00:04:26.29 of God improving His people and giving them 00:04:26.39\00:04:28.83 a searching test to discover those who 00:04:28.90\00:04:31.60 would shrink and turn back in the hour of 00:04:31.67\00:04:34.17 trial." The next statement has to do with after the 00:04:34.27\00:04:37.87 1843 disappointment. They discovered the 00:04:38.01\00:04:41.38 reason why they were disappointed-Jesus didn't 00:04:41.51\00:04:44.28 come in 1843-they said, "Well, the prophecy ends 00:04:44.35\00:04:47.05 in 1844." But they thought it was in the spring first. 00:04:47.18\00:04:51.09 But then when they realized that the Day of Atonement 00:04:51.55\00:04:53.46 was in the summer of 1844, then they said, 00:04:53.56\00:04:57.79 "No, it's in October." So, notice this second 00:04:57.89\00:05:00.26 statement after the 1843 disappointment. "Those 00:05:00.36\00:05:04.53 faithful disappointed ones who could not 00:05:04.63\00:05:06.84 understand why their Lord did not come were 00:05:06.94\00:05:10.17 not left in darkness." Is God gonna take away 00:05:10.31\00:05:13.41 the hand now to reveal what the thunders mean? 00:05:13.51\00:05:16.24 Yes! "Again, they were led to their Bibles to 00:05:16.34\00:05:19.15 search the prophetic periods. The hand of 00:05:19.25\00:05:22.28 the Lord was removed from the figures." [laughs] 00:05:22.38\00:05:25.25 So are they gonna understand now? Yes. 00:05:25.75\00:05:27.79 "And the mistake was explained. They saw that 00:05:28.22\00:05:31.29 the prophetic periods reached to 1844 and 00:05:31.39\00:05:34.40 that the same evidence which they had presented 00:05:34.53\00:05:36.67 to show that the prophetic periods closed in 1843 00:05:36.77\00:05:39.93 proved that they were terminate in 1844. Light 00:05:40.40\00:05:44.54 from the Word of God shone upon their position, 00:05:44.64\00:05:46.61 and they discovered a tarrying time. Though 00:05:46.71\00:05:49.58 it," that is, the vision, "tarry, wait for it. 00:05:49.71\00:05:52.21 In their love for Christ's immediate coming, they 00:05:53.01\00:05:56.69 had overlooked the tarrying of the vision, which was 00:05:56.82\00:05:59.42 calculated to manifest the true waiting ones. 00:05:59.52\00:06:04.93 The test, right? "Again, they had a point of time, 00:06:05.39\00:06:09.76 yet I saw that many of them could not rise above 00:06:10.23\00:06:12.43 their severe disappointment to possess that degree 00:06:12.57\00:06:15.70 of zeal and energy, which had marked their 00:06:15.84\00:06:18.67 faith in 1843." Now, there's a statement that 00:06:18.77\00:06:24.01 some Adventists have misinterpreted, and this 00:06:24.11\00:06:28.25 statement gives the impression, if you don't 00:06:28.38\00:06:30.29 read it carefully, that the thunders are still 00:06:30.39\00:06:33.15 future. It's a misreading of the statement. So, 00:06:33.25\00:06:38.59 you're gonna probably face this at some point in your 00:06:39.19\00:06:41.46 church, so let's go through it on the next 00:06:41.56\00:06:44.37 page, pg. 250. After these seven thunders 00:06:44.47\00:06:48.50 uttered their voices, the injunction comes 00:06:48.64\00:06:52.11 to John as to Daniel in regard to the little 00:06:52.24\00:06:55.11 book. "Seal up those things," which the 00:06:55.21\00:06:58.05 seven thunders uttered. Now, here's the point: 00:06:58.15\00:07:02.05 These thunders relate to future events. So, they 00:07:02.88\00:07:09.86 say, "See, the thunders are still in the future." 00:07:09.96\00:07:11.69 But the question is, future from when? 00:07:12.59\00:07:14.96 She's just mentioned John and Daniel, right? 00:07:17.03\00:07:20.54 So, it's future not from the time of Ellen White; 00:07:21.50\00:07:24.64 it's future from the time of Daniel. Are you understanding 00:07:25.47\00:07:27.71 me or not? So, these thunders relate to future 00:07:27.81\00:07:31.01 events, which will be disclosed in their order. 00:07:31.11\00:07:34.78 And then she refers to Daniel. Daniel shall stand 00:07:35.68\00:07:38.32 in his lot at the end of the days, John sees 00:07:38.45\00:07:41.09 the little book unsealed, then Daniel's prophecies 00:07:41.19\00:07:44.03 have their proper place in the first, second, and 00:07:44.13\00:07:46.49 third angels' messages to be given to the world. 00:07:46.59\00:07:49.00 The unsealing of the little book was the 00:07:49.40\00:07:51.10 message in relation to time. So in other words, the 00:07:51.20\00:07:54.00 seven thunders are not future from the time of 00:07:54.10\00:07:57.97 Ellen White; they're future from the time of Daniel 00:07:58.07\00:08:01.41 and John. Is that point clear? Now, let's go to 00:08:01.51\00:08:06.88 the angel's oath. After the angel descended 00:08:07.02\00:08:10.92 from heaven with the open book-that's point 00:08:11.05\00:08:13.86 #1-and the seven thunders uttered their message- 00:08:13.96\00:08:18.09 1842 to the spring of 1844- the angel raised his right 00:08:18.66\00:08:24.53 hand to heaven and swore an oath in the name of 00:08:24.67\00:08:28.30 the eternal God, the Creator, and he said 00:08:28.40\00:08:32.37 that time would be no longer. So let me ask 00:08:32.47\00:08:37.38 you - is this happening after the seven thunders 00:08:37.48\00:08:39.55 uttered their message that was sealed, and 00:08:40.15\00:08:42.28 then the people understood? Yes. What did the angel 00:08:42.38\00:08:46.62 mean by, "Time will be no longer." Was he 00:08:46.72\00:08:51.79 referring to the end of probationary time? 00:08:51.89\00:08:54.20 Was he referring to the end of the world? No! 00:08:55.03\00:08:58.83 Ellen White was explicit, and I'm gonna prove it 00:08:59.90\00:09:01.90 from the Bible, as well. Seventh-day Adventist 00:09:02.00\00:09:04.67 Bible Commentary, vol. 7, pg. 971. "This time, 00:09:04.77\00:09:08.91 which the angel declares with a solemn oath, is 00:09:10.01\00:09:12.98 not the end of this world's history." In 00:09:13.11\00:09:16.18 other words, it's not the seventh trumpet. Neither 00:09:16.28\00:09:19.02 of what? Probationary time- when the seventh 00:09:19.19\00:09:22.22 trumpet is what? About to sound, but a prophetic 00:09:22.32\00:09:27.66 time, which should precede the advent of our Lord. 00:09:27.76\00:09:33.03 That is, the people will not-listen carefully- 00:09:33.70\00:09:36.40 the people would not have another message 00:09:36.50\00:09:39.17 upon definite time, because all prophetic 00:09:39.27\00:09:43.58 periods ended in 1844. She continues. "After 00:09:43.65\00:09:49.25 this period of time, reaching from," when? 00:09:49.35\00:09:51.52 Ah! See, there it is. "1842 to 1844, there 00:09:52.99\00:09:56.39 can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. 00:09:56.52\00:10:00.06 The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn 00:10:00.16\00:10:03.00 of 1844." Here's another one. This is Selected Messages, 00:10:03.10\00:10:09.37 vol. 2, pg. 108. "And the angel which I saw stand 00:10:09.50\00:10:12.84 upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his 00:10:12.94\00:10:15.08 hand to heaven and swear by Him that liveth forever 00:10:15.18\00:10:17.65 and ever who created heaven and the things 00:10:17.75\00:10:19.71 that therein are, and the earth and the things 00:10:19.81\00:10:22.88 that therein are, and the sea and the things 00:10:22.98\00:10:25.45 which are therein, that there should be time no 00:10:25.55\00:10:29.69 longer." Now, what does that mean-"time will be 00:10:29.82\00:10:33.06 no longer"? She's explicit. "This message announces 00:10:33.16\00:10:36.73 the end of the prophetic periods. The disappointment 00:10:36.83\00:10:40.54 of those who expected to see our Lord in 1844 00:10:40.64\00:10:43.84 was indeed bitter to those who had so ardently looked 00:10:44.37\00:10:48.44 for His appearing. It was in the Lord's order 00:10:48.54\00:10:52.58 that this disappointment should come and that 00:10:53.01\00:10:54.98 hearts should be revealed." Now, biblically speaking, 00:10:55.12\00:11:01.92 how do we know that the expression, "Time will be 00:11:02.06\00:11:05.06 no longer," does not refer to the close of probation 00:11:05.19\00:11:08.26 or to the end of the world? Two reasons. Reason #1) 00:11:08.36\00:11:12.67 The oath of the angel that time will be no 00:11:13.77\00:11:17.24 longer takes place during which trumpet? During 00:11:17.31\00:11:21.38 the sixth trumpet. Has probation closed during 00:11:21.51\00:11:24.15 the sixth trumpet? No. So we know that the 00:11:24.28\00:11:28.52 expression, "Time will be no longer," is done 00:11:28.62\00:11:30.49 during probationary time. So, it can't be the close 00:11:30.59\00:11:34.42 of probation or the end of the world. Are you 00:11:34.49\00:11:37.23 following me? Now, there's a second reason. After the 00:11:37.33\00:11:41.93 angel announced that time would be no longer, 00:11:42.03\00:11:44.70 he instructed John to prophesy again and measure the 00:11:46.03\00:11:48.27 temple. What good would it do to prophesy again 00:11:48.34\00:11:50.61 and measure the temple if probation had closed? 00:11:50.71\00:11:53.27 Are we on the same page? [chuckles] Unfortunately, 00:11:56.31\00:12:01.08 all modern versions of the Bible-including the 00:12:01.18\00:12:05.35 New King James, by the way-translate the 00:12:05.45\00:12:07.39 expression, "Time will be no longer as there 00:12:07.49\00:12:09.62 should no longer be any delay." Folks, that totally 00:12:09.72\00:12:13.09 disconnects Revelation 10 from Daniel 12:4. 00:12:13.19\00:12:16.36 Even our very own Andrews University Study Bible 00:12:19.97\00:12:22.60 translates it in this fashion. However, this 00:12:23.14\00:12:26.68 translation is simply wrong! It totally severs 00:12:26.81\00:12:29.94 the time referred to in Revelation 10:6 00:12:31.78\00:12:33.92 from the time prophecy of the 2,300 days, 00:12:35.08\00:12:37.49 which is the last time prophecy. In other words, 00:12:37.59\00:12:40.46 when the 2,300 days come to an end, that 00:12:40.56\00:12:43.32 is the end of the prophetic periods. Time, prophetic 00:12:43.43\00:12:45.83 time, will be no more. The word 'khronos', 00:12:45.93\00:12:49.40 which is the word 'time', appears in three other 00:12:50.13\00:12:53.80 places in Revelation. It appears in Revelation 00:12:53.90\00:12:56.91 2:21 where it says that God gave Jezebel time 00:12:57.01\00:13:00.58 to repent. It appears in Revelation 6:11 00:13:01.18\00:13:04.95 where the martyrs are told to rest "a little 00:13:05.48\00:13:09.78 time," and it's used in Revelation 20:3 00:13:09.88\00:13:13.56 where it speaks about the devil being unleashed 00:13:14.16\00:13:17.89 after the millennium "for a short time." 00:13:18.03\00:13:21.40 All modern versions translate the word 00:13:22.33\00:13:24.40 'time' there. In the other 30 references 00:13:24.53\00:13:27.90 of the word 'khronos' in the New Testament, 00:13:28.04\00:13:30.51 the versions always translate 'time'. 00:13:30.64\00:13:32.84 There's the one time where they translate 00:13:32.91\00:13:34.28 'delay'. I think there's an agenda here. By 00:13:34.38\00:13:40.42 the way, there is a Greek word in the New 00:13:40.52\00:13:41.92 Testament for 'delay'. It's the word 'kronizo'- 00:13:42.05\00:13:46.99 at the bottom of page 251. The word appears 00:13:47.72\00:13:51.19 in Matthew 24:48 where the Lord's servant says, 00:13:51.29\00:13:55.70 "My Master delays His coming." So if John had 00:13:56.16\00:14:00.37 wanted to say "delay," could he have used a 00:14:00.47\00:14:02.80 word that means 'delay'? Of course. Now, it is 00:14:02.90\00:14:06.68 obvious the angel's declaration that time 00:14:06.78\00:14:09.28 will be no longer cannot have been made before 00:14:09.38\00:14:13.52 the 42 months ended, before the 1,260 days ended, 00:14:13.62\00:14:16.85 before the 3.5 times ended, before the 3.5 00:14:16.99\00:14:20.89 days ended, and before the 2,300 days ended, 00:14:21.02\00:14:24.59 because if these time periods had not ended 00:14:25.89\00:14:28.40 and they were still future from the time 00:14:28.53\00:14:30.30 that he said, "Time will be no longer," 00:14:30.37\00:14:32.20 then time would be longer. Now, here's 00:14:32.30\00:14:37.94 another important point. Contrary to the accusations 00:14:38.04\00:14:41.08 of the enemies of Adventism-within and 00:14:41.21\00:14:44.15 without, I might say-the Seventh-day Adventist 00:14:44.25\00:14:46.85 Church has never set a date for any prophetic 00:14:46.92\00:14:49.75 event. "...Really?" In 1844, the Seventh-day 00:14:49.88\00:14:56.32 Adventist Church did not even exist. It is 00:14:56.42\00:14:59.93 true that later, the Seventh-day Adventist 00:15:00.06\00:15:01.66 Church embraced October 22, 1844 as the date when 00:15:01.80\00:15:05.97 Jesus entered the Most Holy Place to begin a 00:15:06.07\00:15:08.67 work of investigative judgment. However, 00:15:08.80\00:15:11.81 leading up to 1844, scholars of many different 00:15:12.24\00:15:15.84 denominations came up with that date. Ellen 00:15:15.98\00:15:20.25 White on multiple occasions warned Adventists not 00:15:20.38\00:15:23.35 to set dates for any prophetic event after 00:15:23.45\00:15:26.49 1844. She's been explicit, and yet there are people 00:15:26.59\00:15:30.16 in the Church that are giving dates for the 00:15:30.29\00:15:32.79 Sunday law, and they're giving dates for the 00:15:32.89\00:15:34.86 international Sunday law, and they're giving 00:15:35.00\00:15:36.73 dates for the close of probation for the Adventist 00:15:36.83\00:15:38.70 Church, and giving dates for the close of probation 00:15:38.80\00:15:40.77 for the world... Ellen White says no more 00:15:40.90\00:15:43.71 dates, folks. No more dates having to do with 00:15:43.81\00:15:46.51 prophecy. The last date is October 22, 1844. 00:15:46.61\00:15:51.38 "Time will be no longer," is what the angel said. 00:15:52.21\00:15:55.85 Let me just read this one statement, because 00:15:56.45\00:15:58.65 we really want to finish this lesson before the 00:15:58.79\00:16:02.89 end of this session. The first statement 00:16:03.02\00:16:05.03 has Ellen White's comment about the setting of dates. 00:16:06.06\00:16:09.93 She wrote, Review and Herald, July 21, 1851, 00:16:10.57\00:16:13.87 "The Lord has shown me that the message of the 00:16:14.00\00:16:15.54 third angel must go and be proclaimed to the 00:16:15.64\00:16:18.61 scattered children of the Lord, and that it 00:16:18.74\00:16:20.98 should not be hung on time, for time will 00:16:21.11\00:16:25.38 never be a test again. I saw that some were 00:16:25.48\00:16:29.15 getting a false excitement, arising from preaching 00:16:29.25\00:16:32.29 time, that the third angel's message was 00:16:32.39\00:16:34.89 stronger than time can be. I saw that this 00:16:35.02\00:16:38.23 message can stand on its own foundation," now that 00:16:38.33\00:16:41.23 this third angel's message can stand on its own 00:16:41.26\00:16:43.47 foundation, "and that it needs not time to 00:16:43.57\00:16:46.77 strengthen it, and that it will go in mighty 00:16:46.87\00:16:49.40 power, and do its work, and will be cut short 00:16:49.50\00:16:53.31 in righteousness." So is this clear? If anybody 00:16:53.38\00:16:58.01 sets dates, you know that they're on the 00:16:58.11\00:17:00.72 wrong track. The purpose might be sincere. 00:17:00.82\00:17:05.65 What is the purpose of setting the date? To 00:17:06.76\00:17:09.56 excite the people. But then what happens after 00:17:09.69\00:17:13.19 the date passes and nothing occurs? The 00:17:13.29\00:17:16.70 excitement disappears and is more difficult 00:17:16.80\00:17:19.37 next time to get them excited about something 00:17:19.47\00:17:21.67 that really is worthy to be excited about! 00:17:21.80\00:17:24.54 Like the little boy who cried, "Wolf, wolf!" 00:17:25.91\00:17:28.44 Now, let's go to the oath in Daniel and 00:17:30.01\00:17:32.38 Revelation - the oath in Daniel and Revelation. 00:17:32.48\00:17:35.45 Both in Daniel and Revelation, both of 00:17:36.79\00:17:40.16 these books refer to the angel's oath, 00:17:40.26\00:17:42.22 and both books begin the oath by invoking 00:17:43.26\00:17:46.13 the name of the everlasting God. So, both Daniel 00:17:46.23\00:17:49.66 12:7 and Revelation chapter 10 invoke the 00:17:49.76\00:17:53.74 eternal God. In Daniel 12:7, the angel lifts 00:17:53.84\00:17:58.37 both hands to heaven; but in Revelation, the 00:17:58.47\00:18:02.98 angel raises only his right hand. And the 00:18:03.11\00:18:06.41 reason is very simple: In the book of Daniel, 00:18:06.48\00:18:09.25 the angel did not yet have the book, so he 00:18:09.72\00:18:12.49 raises both hands. But in Revelation, the angel 00:18:12.62\00:18:15.59 has the book in one hand, so he can only raise- 00:18:15.69\00:18:18.09 unless he raises the hand with the book. He only 00:18:18.19\00:18:20.60 raises one hand. Now, significantly, the angel 00:18:20.70\00:18:25.30 in the book of Revelation invokes the name of 00:18:25.40\00:18:28.17 the eternal God, and he swears the oath. 00:18:28.27\00:18:32.01 However, the book of Revelation adds that 00:18:32.61\00:18:36.71 the eternal God was the one who what? Ah, this 00:18:36.81\00:18:40.82 is not in Daniel; this is in Revelation. The eternal 00:18:40.92\00:18:44.05 God is the One who created the heaven 00:18:44.12\00:18:45.65 and the things that are in it, the earth 00:18:46.29\00:18:48.29 and the things that are in it, and the sea 00:18:48.92\00:18:50.76 and the things that are in it. What does 00:18:51.39\00:18:53.43 this bring to our minds? How about the first 00:18:53.50\00:18:57.07 angel's message? "Worship Him who made the heavens 00:18:57.17\00:19:00.34 and the earth, the seas, and the fountains of 00:19:00.44\00:19:04.94 waters?" Is this an illusion to the fourth 00:19:05.01\00:19:07.84 commandment, also? To the Sabbath? Absolutely! 00:19:07.94\00:19:11.48 Now, notice. The description of God as the eternal Creator 00:19:12.15\00:19:16.18 links the little book of Revelation 10 with 00:19:17.12\00:19:19.55 what? With the first angel's message of 00:19:19.65\00:19:22.26 Revelation 14. There are three similarities 00:19:22.36\00:19:25.26 between Revelation 10 and the first angel's 00:19:25.39\00:19:28.06 message. He comes to get His people. 00:29:47.72\00:29:51.42 That's the seventh trumpet - the giving 00:29:51.55\00:29:53.99 of the kingdom. Ohh, it says- 00:35:05.90\00:35:09.87 you know, this was a very versatile kind of 00:35:10.37\00:35:12.37 food!-it says, "And the house of Israel 00:35:12.47\00:35:15.44 called its name manna, and it was like white 00:35:15.54\00:35:18.25 coriander seed, and the taste of it was like 00:35:18.38\00:35:21.48 wafers made with honey." Does that sound good? 00:35:22.58\00:35:26.86 Ooh, that sounds tasty. Ellen White explained 00:35:27.52\00:35:32.13 in what sense the book concerning the judgment 00:35:32.23\00:35:34.60 message was sweet. She wrote this, Manuscript, 59, 00:35:34.70\00:35:40.10 1900, "The comprehension of truth, the glad reception 00:35:40.20\00:35:45.34 of the message, is represented by the eating 00:35:45.47\00:35:48.78 of the little book. The truth in regard to the 00:35:48.84\00:35:52.35 time of the Advent of our Lord"... Had they specified 00:35:52.45\00:35:55.58 that Jesus was gonna come October 22, 1844? 00:35:55.72\00:35:58.32 She says, "The timing, the time of the Advent 00:35:58.82\00:36:02.02 of the Lord, was a most precious message to our 00:36:02.12\00:36:05.79 souls." In other words, it was what? Sweet. 00:36:05.89\00:36:08.70 In fact, Ellen White described the year 00:36:08.80\00:36:10.23 that led up to 1844 as the "happiest year of 00:36:10.30\00:36:13.37 my life," because she was gonna see Jesus 00:36:13.47\00:36:16.50 come back in power and glory. They assimilated, 00:37:57.21\00:38:02.08 understood the message, were filled with joy, 00:38:02.21\00:38:04.91 and then they proclaimed it. Bottom of page 259: 00:38:05.05\00:38:12.29 "The message of the judgment imparted by the Millerites 00:38:12.42\00:38:15.02 leading up to October 22, 1844 was indeed sweet. 00:38:15.96\00:38:19.46 They believe that the judgment meant the 00:38:20.83\00:38:22.56 cleansing of the earth by fire and the setting 00:38:22.66\00:38:24.93 up of Christ's everlasting Kingdom! Our 00:39:15.32\00:39:18.55 expectations were raised high, and thus we looked 00:39:18.65\00:39:21.12 for our coming Lord until the clock told 00:39:21.22\00:39:23.73 12 at midnight." See, they were wrong there. 00:39:24.29\00:39:27.96 They needed, still, to learn that the day 00:39:28.06\00:39:30.37 begins at sunset. [laughs] That's what Ellen White 00:39:30.43\00:39:34.60 says; they were not ready to meet their 00:39:34.67\00:39:36.00 Lord. They still had duties and things to 00:39:36.10\00:39:38.27 learn. He continues, "The day had been 00:39:38.37\00:39:41.98 passed, and our disappointment became a certainty. Our 00:39:42.11\00:39:45.25 fondest hopes and expectations were blasted, and such 00:39:45.38\00:39:49.65 a spirit of weeping came over us as I never 00:39:49.75\00:39:52.85 experienced before. It seemed that the loss 00:39:52.99\00:39:56.02 of all earthly friends could not have been 00:39:56.09\00:39:58.69 anything in comparison. We wept and wept till 00:39:58.79\00:40:02.60 the day dawn. I mused in my own heart, saying, 00:40:02.70\00:40:05.63 'My Advent experience has been the richest 00:40:06.20\00:40:07.97 and brightest of all my Christian experience! 00:40:08.10\00:40:10.41 If this had proved a failure, what was the 00:40:10.84\00:40:13.07 rest of my Christian experience worth? 00:40:13.17\00:40:15.51 Has the Bible proved a failure? Is there no 00:40:16.08\00:40:18.48 God, no heaven, no golden city, no paradise? Is all 00:40:18.61\00:40:23.39 this but a cunningly devised fable?" These 00:40:23.49\00:40:26.72 are questions that came up in his mind. "Is there 00:40:26.82\00:40:29.12 no reality to our fondest hope and expectation of these 00:40:29.22\00:40:32.46 things? And thus we had something to grieve and 00:40:32.56\00:40:35.86 weep over, if all our fondest hopes were lost. And 00:40:35.96\00:40:39.70 as I said, we wept till the day dawn." 00:40:39.80\00:40:43.20 Don't you dare criticize that movement unless 00:40:43.47\00:40:45.64 you have this kind of spirit. There are those 00:40:45.77\00:40:49.91 who say, "Ah, the Great Disappointment; the 00:40:49.98\00:40:51.61 Adventist Church began with a disappointment. 00:40:51.68\00:40:53.35 Let's bury that, because that's embarrassing." 00:40:53.45\00:40:55.48 Notice what Washington Morse said. "The passing 00:40:57.12\00:41:00.42 of the time was a bitter disappointment. True 00:41:00.56\00:41:05.39 believers had given up all for Christ." They sold 00:41:05.49\00:41:09.66 their things to pay the debts of other people! 00:41:09.76\00:41:14.87 They prayed all night! They studied the Scriptures 00:41:14.97\00:41:16.71 all night! They left the potatoes in the field! 00:41:16.81\00:41:19.14 These people really believed this. "True 00:41:20.08\00:41:23.68 believers had given up all for Christ and 00:41:23.75\00:41:26.25 had shared His presence as never before. The 00:41:26.38\00:41:29.28 love of Jesus filled every soul, and with 00:41:29.38\00:41:32.15 an expressible desire, they prayed, 'Come, 00:41:32.25\00:41:34.59 Lord Jesus, and come quickly.' But He did not 00:41:34.72\00:41:38.69 come. And now, to turn again to the cares, 00:41:38.79\00:41:41.66 perplexities, and dangers of life, in full view of 00:41:41.76\00:41:45.30 the jeering and reviling unbelievers who scoffed 00:41:45.40\00:41:47.97 as never before was a terrible trial of faith 00:41:48.07\00:41:51.54 and patience. When Elder Himes visited Waterbury, 00:41:51.64\00:41:55.01 Vermont, a short time after the passing of the 00:41:55.11\00:41:57.35 time and stated that the brethren should 00:41:57.48\00:42:00.08 prepare for another cold winter, my feelings were 00:42:00.15\00:42:03.45 almost uncontrollable. I left the place of meeting 00:42:03.52\00:42:07.06 and wept like a child. Does this help you 00:42:07.46\00:42:10.89 understand a little bit about the bitterness 00:42:11.23\00:42:13.03 of the Disappointment? Notice what William 00:42:13.60\00:42:15.63 Miller wrote. "It passed. And the next day, it 00:42:15.93\00:42:20.10 seemed as though all the demons from the 00:42:20.40\00:42:22.54 bottomless pit were let loose upon us. The same 00:42:22.87\00:42:26.78 ones, and many more, who were crying for 00:42:27.14\00:42:29.84 mercy two days before were now mixed with 00:42:30.15\00:42:32.51 the rabble and mocking, scoffing, and threatening 00:42:32.61\00:42:36.12 in a most blasphemous manner. Those people 00:42:36.22\00:42:40.99 joined the movement because they were 00:42:41.32\00:42:42.66 afraid. [That's right.] Not because they loved 00:42:42.69\00:42:45.53 the Lord. Now, do you remember the triumphal 00:42:45.59\00:42:49.70 entry of Jesus into Jerusalem? I'm gonna 00:42:49.80\00:42:53.37 go through this very quickly. Let me ask you. 00:42:53.47\00:42:57.71 Was it a sweet experience for those who participated 00:42:57.81\00:43:00.94 in the triumphal entry? Oh, yes! "The King is 00:43:01.04\00:43:04.28 coming!" Was a specific prophecy being fulfilled 00:43:04.41\00:43:09.42 by this? Which prophecy? The 70-week prophecy. 00:43:09.55\00:43:13.86 Jesus was gonna die in the middle of the week. 00:43:13.96\00:43:15.92 Was this a portion of the 2,300-day prophecy? 00:43:16.46\00:43:19.19 Absolutely! What did the disciples believe? 00:43:19.33\00:43:22.83 That Jesus was gonna establish His Kingdom 00:43:23.70\00:43:25.33 on earth. Were they mistaken about the 00:43:26.63\00:43:28.50 event? Was the timing right? Yes! The timing 00:43:28.57\00:43:33.34 was right. After Jesus went to Gethsemane on the 00:43:33.44\00:43:40.18 cross, were His followers bitterly disappointed? 00:43:40.28\00:43:44.15 Yes! In fact, after the disappointment, two of 00:43:44.69\00:43:47.49 the followers of Jesus-not of the 12 disciples, but- 00:43:47.62\00:43:50.99 two of His followers are walking on a country 00:43:51.09\00:43:53.16 road to the little town of Emmaus. We know the 00:43:53.26\00:43:56.67 name of one of them, but not of the other. 00:43:56.73\00:43:58.63 The name of one is Cleopas. It's interesting to 00:43:59.43\00:44:06.51 notice that as they are walking, who catches 00:44:06.64\00:44:09.41 up to them? Jesus catches up to them! And what 00:44:09.51\00:44:13.42 does Jesus do? He says, "Guys, you misunderstood 00:44:13.48\00:44:17.82 Scripture!" Wasn't it necessary that Jesus 00:44:17.95\00:44:21.66 go to the cross and die and resurrect from the 00:44:21.72\00:44:24.29 dead? And beginning in Moses and all the prophets, 00:44:24.39\00:44:27.20 He revealed to them in all the scriptures the 00:44:27.30\00:44:29.20 things concerning Himself, and their hearts burned! 00:44:29.30\00:44:32.10 They say, "We get it now!" He wasn't gonna 00:44:32.20\00:44:36.24 come to reign as king; He had to die! So was 00:44:36.34\00:44:40.34 prophecy clarified to these two individuals 00:44:41.14\00:44:43.95 who were walking on the country road to 00:44:44.05\00:44:46.11 Emmaus? Yes. And then, Peter and the disciples 00:44:46.21\00:44:49.35 understood that Jesus was not going to establish 00:44:49.42\00:44:53.02 His Kingdom here on earth, but He was 00:44:53.12\00:44:54.72 gonna enter the Holy Place to begin His work 00:44:54.82\00:44:58.09 of intercession in the heavenly sanctuary! 00:44:58.23\00:45:00.76 Did the majority of those who professed 00:45:02.36\00:45:05.00 to follow Jesus follow Him into the Holy Place? 00:45:05.10\00:45:08.70 No. How many were left in the upper room? 120, 00:45:10.31\00:45:15.84 out of all the multitudes. Did most of them fall 00:45:16.88\00:45:19.75 by the wayside? Yes. Now, did Jesus then 00:45:19.81\00:45:24.25 command the disciples to go prophesy again 00:45:24.35\00:45:27.79 with new understanding? Absolutely! And was 00:45:28.76\00:45:34.23 there a faithful remnant that founded the Christian 00:45:34.33\00:45:37.37 Church? [Yes.] Are you looking at the parallel 00:45:37.47\00:45:40.20 here? The Christian Church began with a great disappointment! 00:45:40.30\00:45:44.74 Why don't we try to bury that if we're 00:45:45.97\00:45:47.38 embarrassed? Now let's draw the parallel. The 00:45:47.48\00:45:52.01 Millerites also had a sweet experience. 00:45:52.11\00:45:55.02 They were expecting Jesus to come at the 00:45:55.45\00:45:57.52 conclusion of the larger portion of that prophecy. 00:45:57.65\00:46:01.92 Was Jesus fulfilling a specific time prophecy? 00:46:02.72\00:46:05.29 Yes! The 2,300 days. What kind of kingdom 00:46:05.89\00:46:10.07 did the Millerites envision? A kingdom on earth - 00:46:10.20\00:46:14.14 cleansing the earth, and Jesus establishing Himself 00:46:15.20\00:46:17.77 as King here! Were they right about the timing? 00:46:17.91\00:46:20.74 Yes. What were they wrong about? The event. 00:46:21.24\00:46:24.88 When Jesus failed to fulfill their expectations, was 00:46:24.98\00:46:29.58 the sweet experience changed into bitterness 00:46:29.72\00:46:32.12 as we just noticed? Yes! Now here's the 00:46:32.22\00:46:35.42 interesting thing: The day after the Disappointment, 00:46:35.52\00:46:38.33 there are two of the Millerites that are walking 00:46:38.46\00:46:41.66 across a field. We know the name of one of them- 00:46:41.76\00:46:44.93 Hiram Edson. We don't know the name of the 00:46:45.03\00:46:47.54 other. [laughs] And suddenly one, Hiram 00:46:47.64\00:46:51.57 Edson, has this momentary insight-and some people 00:46:51.67\00:46:56.51 don't know whether it's a vision or whether it's 00:46:56.61\00:46:59.41 just a momentary insight of thought, but-he said, 00:46:59.48\00:47:02.32 "I saw distinctly and clearly that instead of 00:47:02.42\00:47:05.95 Jesus coming to the earth on October 22, 00:47:06.05\00:47:08.46 1844, He entered the Most Holy Place to begin 00:47:08.59\00:47:11.59 a new work!" Are you with me? Amazing! 00:47:11.69\00:47:18.73 As Jesus had entered the Holy Place and Peter 00:47:20.17\00:47:22.40 preached on the Day of Pentecost- no, no, 00:47:22.54\00:47:24.01 no, He wasn't gonna set up His Kingdom here; 00:47:24.11\00:47:26.04 He's begun as Intercessor in the Holy Place in 1844. 00:47:26.14\00:47:29.51 Now, the message is given. No, He wasn't gonna 00:47:30.05\00:47:31.91 come to the earth; He was gonna start His 00:47:32.01\00:47:34.22 work in the Most Holy Place! What happened 00:47:34.32\00:47:37.79 with the majority of those who had believed 00:47:37.89\00:47:39.45 that Jesus was gonna come as King on earth? 00:47:39.55\00:47:41.52 They fell by the wayside, and they became, by the 00:47:42.79\00:47:44.89 way, the synagogue of Satan. What did the 00:47:44.99\00:47:48.36 faithful do after this? They restudied the 00:47:48.50\00:47:51.57 prophecies that they had misinterpreted. 00:47:51.73\00:47:54.80 Did they now have further understanding? Yes! 00:47:55.64\00:47:58.61 Did God establish a remnant out of this 00:47:59.94\00:48:01.48 group and tell them to prophesy again? Absolutely. 00:48:01.61\00:48:06.45 That faithful remnant was the nucleus of 00:48:06.95\00:48:09.78 the Seventh-day Adventist Church that we know today. 00:48:09.95\00:48:13.39 Isn't that a remarkable parallel? God has a sense 00:48:15.12\00:48:18.46 of humor. [laughter] Now let's talk about 00:48:18.59\00:48:23.63 the prophesying again. There's something strange 00:48:23.70\00:48:27.30 about the angel's order for John to eat the book. 00:48:27.90\00:48:30.71 He first told John that the book would be bitter 00:48:31.71\00:48:35.94 in the stomach and sweet in the mouth. Is that kind 00:48:36.04\00:48:38.61 of a weird order? Yeah, because things don't 00:48:38.75\00:48:42.22 become bitter in your belly before you eat 00:48:42.35\00:48:43.89 them. Why does the angel reverse the natural order 00:48:44.02\00:48:48.69 in verse 9? In order to understand this, we need 00:48:48.82\00:48:52.96 to look at the chiastic structure of verses 9 00:48:53.06\00:48:55.63 through 11. So notice this chiasm. Letter A above 00:48:55.76\00:49:01.37 is equivalent to letter A below. You see that? 00:49:01.84\00:49:03.87 B above, equivalent to B below; and C and C 00:49:04.77\00:49:08.78 are parallel. So let's notice. Letter A: The 00:49:08.84\00:49:13.15 angel tells John to take the scroll and eat it. 00:49:13.21\00:49:16.69 Then he is told, "It's gonna be bitter in your 00:49:17.75\00:49:19.75 stomach," right? Then letter C, "In your mouth, 00:49:19.82\00:49:23.22 it will be sweet as honey." Now, in the 00:49:23.32\00:49:27.36 second half of the chiasm, he's going to reverse the 00:49:27.46\00:49:30.13 order. "In your mouth, it will be sweet as 00:49:30.23\00:49:34.60 honey"-that's the same letter C in reverse order- 00:49:34.70\00:49:37.21 B, "It was bitter in my stomach." And 00:49:38.54\00:49:43.38 what is equivalent to the angel telling John 00:49:43.48\00:49:45.71 to take and eat the scroll? The angel tells 00:49:45.81\00:49:48.42 John, "You must prophesy again." So what does 00:49:48.55\00:49:54.49 that mean-to eat the scroll? It is equivalent 00:49:54.59\00:49:58.26 to prophesying again. Did the Millerites eat 00:49:58.39\00:50:02.80 the scroll? Does that mean only that they 00:50:02.90\00:50:06.33 understood the message? No. What does that mean? 00:50:06.43\00:50:09.00 It means they understood the message, and what? 00:50:09.50\00:50:11.27 Proclaimed it. So what does the angel say now? 00:50:11.71\00:50:14.48 The angel says, "Go, and you must prophesy 00:50:14.94\00:50:19.65 again." In other words, "You have to proclaim 00:50:20.35\00:50:22.05 this message again with new understanding." 00:50:22.18\00:50:25.12 The chiastic structure is important, because it 00:50:26.86\00:50:30.16 shows that the angel's order for John to eat 00:50:30.26\00:50:32.09 the scroll in verse 9A is equivalent to the 00:50:32.23\00:50:35.30 order to prophesy again in verse 11. When John 00:50:35.43\00:50:38.57 ate the scroll, he assimilated the judgment 00:50:38.67\00:50:40.67 message and proclaimed it. However, because of 00:50:40.77\00:50:43.51 the Disappointment, it was necessary to preach 00:50:43.61\00:50:46.01 the message from the same scroll again. So 00:50:46.14\00:50:49.21 do we have a judgment hour message to proclaim 00:50:49.31\00:50:51.11 to the world today? Yes, we do, but with added 00:50:51.21\00:50:54.48 understanding. You notice that the angel says- 00:50:54.58\00:51:00.22 it doesn't say, "I hope you prophesy again." 00:51:00.86\00:51:04.29 "You should prophesy again." "Please prophesy 00:51:06.80\00:51:10.23 again." No! He says, "You must prophesy 00:51:10.33\00:51:14.37 again!" What does the word 'must' mean? 00:51:14.47\00:51:16.37 The exegetical dictionary of the New Testament 00:51:16.91\00:51:19.31 tells us what the word 'must' means. It's an 00:51:21.38\00:51:23.41 imperative in the Greek. What is an imperative? 00:51:23.48\00:51:25.78 A command! This word designates an unconditional 00:51:25.88\00:51:30.85 necessity. Sentences with this verb have 00:51:30.99\00:51:35.22 fundamentally an absolute, unquestioned, and often 00:51:35.32\00:51:41.63 anonymous and deterministic character. In other words, 00:51:41.73\00:51:45.97 prophesying again is not optional, but obligatory. 00:51:46.07\00:51:51.11 We find the prophesying again, where? In the 00:51:54.41\00:51:58.45 first angel's message with the new understanding. 00:51:58.55\00:52:00.82 The Millerites preached this message leading up 00:52:01.82\00:52:04.19 to 1844, but the remnant needed to preach it once 00:52:04.29\00:52:08.66 more, but with greater understanding. Do we 00:52:08.76\00:52:12.09 have greater understanding than the Millerites? 00:52:12.19\00:52:14.16 [Yes.] Oh, yeah. The Millerites also preached 00:52:14.30\00:52:17.13 the second angel's message, but the remnant must 00:52:17.23\00:52:19.20 preach it again. And by the way, they did not 00:52:19.33\00:52:21.40 preach the third angel's message, but we must 00:52:21.54\00:52:23.47 preach the third. Now, were there things that 00:52:23.57\00:52:30.51 the Millerites did not understand besides what 00:52:30.61\00:52:32.71 was gonna happen in 1844? There's something 00:52:32.85\00:52:37.02 very interesting. Shortly after 1844, the remnant 00:52:37.12\00:52:44.53 that was faithful started discovering the distinctive 00:52:44.66\00:52:47.96 doctrines of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. They 00:52:48.13\00:52:53.40 discovered that the law was still binded. The churches 00:52:53.50\00:52:56.77 said, "No, it was nailed to the cross." They 00:52:56.87\00:52:59.54 discovered the Sabbath. They discovered that 00:52:59.64\00:53:03.51 the dead are dead. They discovered health reform. 00:53:03.65\00:53:08.82 Why did they discover all of those things? 00:53:10.52\00:53:12.49 Because all of those things are centered 00:53:14.49\00:53:16.26 in the Most Holy Place. When they enter the 00:53:16.42\00:53:19.36 Most Holy Place, what is inside the Ark? The 00:53:19.46\00:53:24.03 Ten Commandments. What is at the center of the 00:53:24.13\00:53:26.70 Ten Commandments? The Sabbath. And the idea 00:53:26.80\00:53:31.77 that the judgment began in 1844-and Adam was 00:53:31.87\00:53:35.18 the first one judged- indicates that Adam did 00:53:35.24\00:53:38.98 not go to heaven when he died, because his 00:53:39.08\00:53:42.45 case appears in 1844, before the heavenly court. 00:53:42.58\00:53:45.15 They said, "Well, if the judgment begins 00:53:45.25\00:53:46.72 in 1844, and it starts with Adam and continues 00:53:46.82\00:53:49.96 with everybody after that, then nobody went 00:53:50.09\00:53:52.83 to heaven after they died!" Are you with 00:53:52.96\00:53:56.30 me? And the pot of manna not only represented 00:53:56.40\00:54:02.44 the need to keep the Sabbath, but the manna 00:54:04.54\00:54:07.54 also represented health reform! Remember when 00:54:07.64\00:54:10.81 Israel said, "Ah, we're tired of the manna! 00:54:10.91\00:54:12.85 Give us all that good food that we had in 00:54:16.02\00:54:18.05 Egypt." "Good" in quotation marks, of course. So, 00:54:18.15\00:54:22.39 the manna inside the Ark represented health 00:54:22.89\00:54:26.23 reform. And what about the dead rod that sprouted 00:54:26.29\00:54:30.47 life? - represents that the hope of the Christian 00:54:30.57\00:54:32.90 is found in the resurrection. By the way, I won't 00:54:33.00\00:54:35.50 get into women's ordination, but the rod also has to 00:54:35.64\00:54:37.91 have something to do with that, because it 00:54:38.01\00:54:40.28 comes after the rebellion of Korah, Dathan, in the 00:54:40.38\00:54:43.11 Bible. But we'll leave that alone. Now, let's 00:54:43.21\00:54:46.78 go to our final section: a representative person. 00:54:46.88\00:54:50.09 The question we must ask at this point is 00:54:51.12\00:54:53.62 this: Does this symbolic portrayal of eating the 00:54:53.79\00:54:56.76 scroll and it being sweet and bitter apply 00:54:57.56\00:55:01.00 to John in the first century, or does the 00:55:01.13\00:55:03.50 act of John symbolize the experience of an 00:55:03.60\00:55:05.60 anti-remnant? In other words, is John symbolic 00:55:05.73\00:55:08.84 of a movement at the end of time? Of course! 00:55:08.94\00:55:11.94 Notice what William Shay- who passed away recently; 00:55:13.14\00:55:16.38 he was my teacher of the seminary - photographic 00:55:16.48\00:55:18.18 memory-he wrote this. "John lived at the beginning 00:55:18.31\00:55:21.38 of the Christian era, right? When he received this vision. 00:55:21.48\00:55:24.89 However, the prophetic scene itself looks down 00:55:25.99\00:55:28.26 toward the end of time long after John's death, 00:55:28.36\00:55:31.39 the sixth trumpet. He should therefore be 00:55:31.56\00:55:33.83 taken as representative of those who will bear 00:55:33.96\00:55:38.00 this final message, the part he was acting out 00:55:38.67\00:55:41.20 under those circumstances. It would have been 00:55:41.37\00:55:44.34 physically impossible for John to bear the message 00:55:44.47\00:55:47.81 to all of the groups he was told to address." 00:55:47.91\00:55:50.65 Could John alone witness to all nations, tongues, 00:55:51.58\00:55:55.05 peoples, kings? He was a prisoner in Patmos, 00:55:55.15\00:55:57.99 folks! So, John here is symbolic of what? 00:55:58.12\00:56:04.39 Symbolic of a movement. Now, let's go to the 00:56:05.33\00:56:11.07 bottom of page 264. This prophecy, then, does 00:56:11.13\00:56:15.10 not apply to John in the first century for 00:56:15.17\00:56:17.51 two reasons, summarized: 1) John lived during the 00:56:17.57\00:56:21.04 first century, but these events take place during 00:56:21.14\00:56:24.21 the period of the sixth trumpet at the time of 00:56:24.28\00:56:26.51 the end when John was already dead. 2) "It would've 00:56:26.61\00:56:30.85 been impossible for John to prophesy again to many 00:56:30.99\00:56:34.46 peoples, nations, tongues, and kings. After all, he 00:56:34.56\00:56:37.86 was a prisoner on Patmos, and there's no evidence 00:56:37.99\00:56:40.70 that he ever fulfilled this commission. A global 00:56:40.83\00:56:44.57 message requires a global people to proclaim that 00:56:44.67\00:56:51.37 message." Did the Seventh-day Adventist Church become 00:56:51.51\00:56:55.31 a global church after 1844? Absolutely. The 00:56:55.44\00:57:00.35 proof is in the pudding, as they say. Isn't this 00:57:00.48\00:57:04.05 remarkable? How everything in Revelation 10 was 00:57:04.19\00:57:08.69 fulfilled in the movement surrounding 1844? Now, 00:57:08.76\00:57:14.13 does the Bible say, "The Millerites were 00:57:15.10\00:57:17.33 gonna announce the coming of judgment, that they 00:57:17.40\00:57:19.60 will be disappointed because Jesus wasn't 00:57:19.67\00:57:21.24 gonna come..." Revelation 10 doesn't say that! 00:57:21.30\00:57:25.37 Do we have to go outside the cannon of Scripture to history 00:57:25.67\00:57:31.15 to see these things being fulfilled? Yes.
