they think that might be it.

arises to us, who is the beast?

about? We're going to look at it

used 4 times in the Bible,

"antichrist" comes from?

of the Greek "Antichristos",

through the kingdom of Rome

to try to kill Jesus. So
the dragon was attempting

was using Pagan Rome to do it,

he was working

power that's talked about here,

see that it's a strange kind

of picture that's given to
us in Revelation 13 that says

body of the leopard, the feet

of the bear, the mouth
of the lion, 10 horns on it.

What do all those things
mean? And it says it's coming

order to understand that

that unlock those symbols

symbol, this woman is a symbol,

what do all those things mean?

we see a metallic image.

This image, the metals
change on it, and as it changes

kingdoms that have come up

history, and then been conquered

We start in the head

that was ruling in Daniel's day.

Nebuchadnezzar and he said:

another kingdom coming up,

was succeeded by
Greece, was succeeded by Rome,

and then Rome was divided
up like the feet and the toes

on the image. So
that's outlined prophecy,

God repeats this and gives

so when you see winds over
the waters, it's showing us

is: what does a beast represent

it talks about kings,

represents the 4th kingdom,

first 3 beasts represent?

the first 3 kingdoms.

Starting in Daniel's
day there was 4 kingdoms,

kingdom 1, 2, 3, and
4, so that's very simple.

So in Bible prophecy a
beast represents a king

and its kingdom.
Once again, we do that

in modern days. We
often have creatures,

or animals, representing
nations of this earth, it goes

of Babylon loosing its power,

would say, it lost its lion like

and then we come to
this second beast, this bear,

and we read about him in

So what was the kingdom
that came up and overthrew

Babylon, and began to
rule? It was Medo-Persia.

So we've got a bear
talked about here, and it talks

about this bear
having ribs in its mouth.

Now, if you were
walking along a forest floor

and you saw bones laying
there, what would you think

might have happened?
Well, usually, something

has been overcome,
or conquered, devoured.

When Medo-Persia came to
power it didn't just swallow up

Babylon, but it swallowed up
2 other areas: Egypt and Libya.

So those 3 nations,
Babylon, Egypt and Libya

are represented by the 3 ribs
in the mouth of this animal.

Now it says it was
humped up on one side.

Why was it humped
up? Because it was really

2 nations combining
together to overthrow Babylon,

Medes and the Persians.

The Persians were a much
stronger group, a much larger

and stronger group, so
that's shown to us by the bear

being raised up.
Later on the Persians

basically took over
and it became known in many
00:11:50.20\00:11:52.65
history books as the
Persian Empire, but the Medes

and the Persians is talking
about the same exact nation

as represented in Daniel
2 by the breasts and arms

of silver.
Medo-Persia ruled from

539-331 BC, and then
we go on to another power

us by this leopard.

This power had 4 wings,

Alexander the Great leading

from conquest to conquest,

swallowing up
everything that was in its path.

The 4 heads of the
leopard are also important

because Alexander the
Great died at a young age.

He could conquer many
nations, he could not conquer

his carnal nature, he
died as a drunkard, his nation

was divided up
among his 4 top generals.

Greece, in this divided
way, survived all the way down

to one 168 BC, and it's the
same power that's represented

by the belly and
thighs of brass in Daniel 2.

So Greece ruled from 331-168 BC,
and then we have another power

little bit about what those

haven't studied this before.

came down from the north

and as each one had power
they carved out a little piece

for themselves.

next important development

looking at these parts",

because that's what
the horns represent.

suddenly up from among them

little kingdom, and he says

10 that were already there.

If you were a history student,
and some of you may have

have been a while, but if you

have to ask yourself to know

the identity of the little
horn is to say: "what kingdom"

"came up after Rome fell
in 476 AD, and took away"

"3 of those 10 kingdoms,"
and you'd have your answer.

But the Lord knows how
important this subject is to us,

really be sure of the identity
