You know, growing
up, I spent a lot of time

watching a lot of things

that in hindsight
weren't that good,

that really went against
biblical principles, right?

And when God was...

working on my heart,

wooing me to Him,
there came a point

that are really hurting us.

there's a natural human
aversion to that surrender

The Apostle Paul
talks about this in Romans 7

the things he wants to do,

doesn't want to do, he does.

There's this battle
with our humanity and God,

even Jesus
experienced this to an extent.

We see Jesus in the
Garden of Gethsemane

in Matthew 26 having to
go three times back to say,

but Your will be done."

that can come up inside us,

I remember a time in my life

struggled with surrender

we're surrendering to.

I realized I
knew a lot about God,

but I didn't know
God at a heart level,

and without that
knowledge, it's really scary...

someone that you don't know

There was a time when I remember

having to say to God,

And that sounds really crazy,

but that was when I got
really raw with God myself

And it was crazy what happened.

That whole journey led me
to a very real place with God

starting to search out,

And we almost get paranoid that
we're not surrendered enough.

On the other
side of the spectrum,

you know, we can get in
this rut of feeling like,

"You know, I'm all right.

I surrendered once
like a couple months ago,

But honestly,
surrender is a daily experience.

But here's a couple metrics

that I would like
to propose in this.

First of all, is there anything

that you are currently doing

shouldn't be doing?

If you are,
there's a good chance

you're not surrendered, right?

If you are doing something

that you know goes
against God's word,

haven't surrendered it all.

mean you haven't ever,
