Our message tonight is entitled, 00:00:39.55\00:00:40.87 "Revelation's Eternal Sign of Love." 00:00:40.90\00:00:44.18 In Genesis 1, we read the first week of creation 00:00:44.21\00:00:48.15 and how God created the world in six little days. 00:00:48.18\00:00:51.40 On the first day of creation, the Bible says in Genesis 1. 00:00:51.43\00:00:54.43 God said, "Let there be light." And what happened? 00:00:54.46\00:00:56.92 Bang. There was light. That's the big bang. 00:00:56.95\00:00:59.38 God said, "Let there be light and there was light." 00:00:59.41\00:01:01.56 Friends, let me ask you a question. 00:01:01.59\00:01:02.69 Who did God create the light for? 00:01:02.72\00:01:05.25 Did He create it for one race 00:01:05.28\00:01:06.96 or did He create it for all races? 00:01:06.99\00:01:08.72 All races. 00:01:08.75\00:01:10.11 What about the trees and the plants 00:01:10.14\00:01:13.25 and the nice fruits? 00:01:13.28\00:01:14.73 Did God create it for one race or for all races? 00:01:14.76\00:01:17.27 Friends, I am so grateful that 00:01:17.30\00:01:18.90 all of the human race can enjoy mangos. 00:01:18.93\00:01:21.14 Amen. 00:01:21.17\00:01:22.20 And all of these wonderful fruits, 00:01:22.23\00:01:23.26 it's not just for one race, it's for the entire human race. 00:01:23.29\00:01:26.00 And who did god create marriage for? 00:01:26.03\00:01:28.20 One race or all races? 00:01:28.23\00:01:29.78 For the entire human race. 00:01:29.81\00:01:32.75 You see, all that God made was given to the whole human race. 00:01:32.78\00:01:37.11 Then after God created man, He then created a special sign 00:01:37.14\00:01:41.68 to remind man that he is special 00:01:41.71\00:01:44.60 and that he was made in the image of God. 00:01:44.63\00:01:45.97 What was the special sign that God made? 00:01:46.00\00:01:48.61 Notice, this eternal memorial of creation. 00:01:48.64\00:01:52.11 The Bible tells us in Genesis 2:1-3. 00:01:52.14\00:01:55.42 "Thus the heavens and the earth were-- 00:01:55.45\00:01:57.59 " What is that word right there? 00:01:57.62\00:01:58.99 "Finished." 00:01:59.02\00:02:00.09 Friends, I want you keep that in mind. 00:02:00.12\00:02:01.30 We're going to come back to that word. 00:02:01.33\00:02:02.36 It says, "The heavens and the earth were finished." 00:02:02.39\00:02:05.31 In other words, God got the work done. 00:02:05.34\00:02:08.62 "And all the host of them and on the seventh day 00:02:08.65\00:02:11.69 God ended his work which He had made, 00:02:11.72\00:02:13.69 and He rested the seventh day 00:02:13.72\00:02:14.95 from all His work which He had made. 00:02:14.98\00:02:16.74 And God did what, blessed the seventh day, 00:02:16.77\00:02:20.30 and sanctified it because that in it He had rested 00:02:20.33\00:02:24.38 from all his work which God created and made." 00:02:24.41\00:02:26.64 So here, we find God ends His work 00:02:26.67\00:02:29.45 on the sixth day of the week. 00:02:29.48\00:02:31.23 Adam and Eve were created at the last part 00:02:31.26\00:02:32.83 of the six day of the week. 00:02:32.86\00:02:34.23 The creation of the man, 00:02:34.26\00:02:35.30 it is finished on the sixth day of the week. 00:02:35.33\00:02:38.51 On the what day of the week? 00:02:38.54\00:02:39.73 And then on the seventh day of the week, 00:02:39.76\00:02:41.91 God created this special day. 00:02:41.94\00:02:43.52 And the Bible tells us that the God did 00:02:43.55\00:02:45.08 three specific things on this day. 00:02:45.11\00:02:46.96 How many things? 00:02:46.99\00:02:48.24 The Bible says that God blessed the seventh day. 00:02:48.27\00:02:50.94 In other words, He pronounced the blessing on the seventh 00:02:50.97\00:02:53.24 that has not found on any other day of the week. 00:02:53.27\00:02:56.26 The Bible says He also rested on this day, 00:02:56.29\00:02:58.03 not because He was tired. 00:02:58.06\00:02:59.79 He didn't rest because He was exhausted, 00:02:59.82\00:03:01.71 but rather He rested in satisfaction 00:03:01.74\00:03:04.32 at the things that He had made. 00:03:04.35\00:03:06.05 And then the Bible says that God sanctified 00:03:06.08\00:03:08.28 the seventh day of the week. 00:03:08.31\00:03:09.44 And, friends, that word sanctified is important 00:03:09.47\00:03:11.03 for our study tonight. 00:03:11.06\00:03:12.21 The word sanctified literally means, 00:03:12.24\00:03:13.90 to set apart for a holy use. 00:03:13.93\00:03:17.44 What is the word sanctified mean? 00:03:17.47\00:03:20.11 Set apart for a holy use. 00:03:20.14\00:03:22.81 Why? 00:03:22.84\00:03:23.87 Because the seventh day of the week 00:03:23.90\00:03:24.93 was to be a holy day. 00:03:24.96\00:03:26.18 God created this time period as a very sacred and holy time. 00:03:26.21\00:03:31.70 Now, friends, question. 00:03:31.73\00:03:32.82 If God created the light, the flowers, the fruits 00:03:32.85\00:03:35.69 and marriage for not just one race, but for all races, 00:03:35.72\00:03:38.61 who did God created the seventh day Sabbath for. 00:03:38.64\00:03:41.22 Did He created it for one race or for all races? 00:03:41.25\00:03:44.10 He created it for the entire human race. 00:03:44.13\00:03:46.36 Not for Jews alone. 00:03:46.39\00:03:47.74 But, friends, for all of mankind 00:03:47.77\00:03:49.87 and that's why Jesus said in the Book of Mark 2:27, 00:03:49.90\00:03:53.59 "That The Sabbath was made for man, 00:03:53.62\00:03:56.80 and not man for the Sabbath." 00:03:56.83\00:03:58.66 In other words, God made the Sabbath 00:03:58.69\00:04:00.04 as a special blessing, a special gift of love 00:04:00.07\00:04:02.95 for the entire human race. 00:04:02.98\00:04:05.73 And why did God give the Sabbath to man 00:04:05.76\00:04:08.06 at the very beginning of time? 00:04:08.09\00:04:09.35 Because God knew that if man was to work seven days a week, 00:04:09.38\00:04:13.58 man would work himself to death. 00:04:13.61\00:04:17.30 You see, the human frame requires rest. 00:04:17.33\00:04:21.24 How many of you can use more rest 00:04:21.27\00:04:23.10 and less stress in your lives? 00:04:23.13\00:04:26.17 Amen. 00:04:26.20\00:04:27.54 And that's why God gave the sevenths day of the week 00:04:27.57\00:04:29.32 from the very beginning of time as a gift of love 00:04:29.35\00:04:31.37 to the entire human race. 00:04:31.40\00:04:33.80 And, friends, in His eternal law 00:04:33.83\00:04:35.36 that He wrote with His own finger on Tablets of Stone. 00:04:35.39\00:04:37.82 God commanded the world to remember. 00:04:37.85\00:04:41.49 The Bible says, "Remember the Sabbath day, 00:04:41.52\00:04:44.45 to keep it holy. 00:04:44.48\00:04:45.59 Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work. 00:04:45.62\00:04:47.83 But the seventh day-- " Notice, it does not say a seventh day. 00:04:47.86\00:04:51.71 It says what? 00:04:51.74\00:04:52.90 "The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God, 00:04:52.93\00:04:57.16 in it thou shall not do any work, 00:04:57.19\00:04:58.65 thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, 00:04:58.68\00:04:59.91 not thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, 00:04:59.94\00:05:01.30 nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates." 00:05:01.33\00:05:04.35 Why? 00:05:04.38\00:05:05.41 Why does God say to remember the seventh day Sabbath? 00:05:05.44\00:05:06.83 He points us back to creation as a reason for it because 00:05:06.86\00:05:10.94 that's where the Sabbath began, at creation. 00:05:10.97\00:05:13.00 It says, "For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, 00:05:13.03\00:05:18.72 the sea, and all that in them is, and did what, 00:05:18.75\00:05:21.77 rested the seventh day wherefore the Lord 00:05:21.80\00:05:24.20 blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it." 00:05:24.23\00:05:26.88 Those are the same three things that God did 00:05:26.91\00:05:28.99 that we read in Genesis 2. 00:05:29.02\00:05:30.91 And so we find that God thought that this special sign, 00:05:30.94\00:05:34.02 this special day was so important 00:05:34.05\00:05:35.70 that He placed it in the Ten Commandments. 00:05:35.73\00:05:37.58 And by the way, friends, last time I checked, 00:05:37.61\00:05:39.55 it was not called the ten opinions or the ten suggestions, 00:05:39.58\00:05:43.06 it was called the Ten Commandments. 00:05:43.09\00:05:44.31 Can you say, amen? 00:05:44.34\00:05:45.49 Not, friends, it's interesting. 00:05:45.52\00:05:46.88 Did you notice that the only commandment 00:05:46.91\00:05:49.70 that God specifically says, remember. 00:05:49.73\00:05:52.92 The only one that starts with the word remember 00:05:52.95\00:05:55.05 is the very one that majority of the world, 00:05:55.08\00:05:58.46 and not just the world, 00:05:58.49\00:05:59.76 but majority of the Christian world has forgotten. 00:05:59.79\00:06:03.27 You see, most Christian churches have nine commandments 00:06:03.30\00:06:05.74 and they haven't forgot those, 00:06:05.77\00:06:07.64 but when it comes for some reason 00:06:07.67\00:06:09.04 to this fourth commandment, 00:06:09.07\00:06:10.51 the very one God said, remember that's the one 00:06:10.54\00:06:13.08 that people have forgotten. 00:06:13.11\00:06:14.85 They sweep it under the rug as if it's not important 00:06:14.88\00:06:17.54 that the others are more important. 00:06:17.57\00:06:18.96 But, friends, let me ask you a question. 00:06:18.99\00:06:20.04 Is one command of God more important than another? 00:06:20.07\00:06:23.11 Friends, they are all important. 00:06:23.14\00:06:24.64 In fact, notice what the New Testament says 00:06:24.67\00:06:26.54 in James 2:10. 00:06:26.57\00:06:28.67 Please, write it down. 00:06:28.70\00:06:29.73 James 2:10 tells us. 00:06:29.76\00:06:31.58 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, 00:06:31.61\00:06:34.39 and yet offend in--" How many points? 00:06:34.42\00:06:37.27 "One point, he is guilty of, how much? 00:06:37.30\00:06:39.83 And, friends, the law that he's talking about, 00:06:39.86\00:06:41.98 in the context you read the versus preceding, 00:06:42.01\00:06:44.38 it's talking about the ten commandments. 00:06:44.41\00:06:45.99 And, friends, what we're going to do tonight 00:06:46.02\00:06:47.49 is we're going to examine the history 00:06:47.52\00:06:50.29 of how God has been calling mankind to remember Him 00:06:50.32\00:06:54.28 and His special sign from the very beginning 00:06:54.31\00:06:56.99 all the way to the end of time. 00:06:57.02\00:06:59.64 And so we're going to trace the history tonight. 00:06:59.67\00:07:01.15 And if you are ready to do this, would you please say amen? 00:07:01.18\00:07:03.78 I want you to notice, friends, 00:07:03.81\00:07:04.88 that throughout the Old Testament 00:07:04.91\00:07:06.41 the Sabbath was always a special sign 00:07:06.44\00:07:09.25 between God and His people. 00:07:09.28\00:07:12.12 Abraham, brother and sisters. 00:07:12.15\00:07:13.24 The Bible tells us he is the father of faith 00:07:13.27\00:07:14.89 and he kept God's commandments. 00:07:14.92\00:07:16.27 We looked at that verse in Genesis 00:07:16.30\00:07:17.73 and a part of that law was the seven-day Sabbath. 00:07:17.76\00:07:20.25 He passed these beautiful truths down to his children 00:07:20.28\00:07:22.80 in the nation of Israel. 00:07:22.83\00:07:23.92 But then, you remember when the Israelites were 00:07:23.95\00:07:26.18 in Egyptian bondage. 00:07:26.21\00:07:28.07 They were forced to work seven days a week, non-stop. 00:07:28.10\00:07:32.80 They had no rests. 00:07:32.83\00:07:35.73 And, friends, when you are constantly working, 00:07:35.76\00:07:37.28 it's easy to forget the weekly cycle. 00:07:37.31\00:07:39.78 And even though they've forgot the Sabbath 00:07:39.81\00:07:42.06 or were not able to keep the Sabbath, 00:07:42.09\00:07:43.42 God did not forget His children. 00:07:43.45\00:07:45.68 He sent a deliver to set them free from Egyptian bondage, 00:07:45.71\00:07:49.56 so that they could rest and worship God 00:07:49.59\00:07:52.49 according to the dictates of their own conscious. 00:07:52.52\00:07:54.45 Do you remember, friends? 00:07:54.48\00:07:55.65 On their way out of Egypt, 00:07:55.68\00:07:57.64 God let them through the wilderness. 00:07:57.67\00:07:59.93 And where was their destination? 00:07:59.96\00:08:02.21 The Promise Land. Is that right? 00:08:02.24\00:08:04.09 And, friends, just as God brought them 00:08:04.12\00:08:06.10 out of the bondage of Egyptian, 00:08:06.13\00:08:08.09 He has done the same thing with us tonight. 00:08:08.12\00:08:10.42 You see, Egypt is a type of sin and God wants to free us 00:08:10.45\00:08:14.13 from the slavery of sin and now we're in the wilderness. 00:08:14.16\00:08:17.94 But where are we heading? 00:08:17.97\00:08:19.15 To the heavenly Canaan, the Heavenly Promise Land. 00:08:19.18\00:08:22.05 Can you say amen? 00:08:22.08\00:08:23.11 And right now we are in the wilderness. 00:08:23.14\00:08:25.02 This world is not our home, we are just passing through. 00:08:25.05\00:08:28.21 And even though Hawaii is paradise, 00:08:28.24\00:08:30.06 it has nothing upon the heavenly paradise God has for us. 00:08:30.09\00:08:32.91 Can you say amen? 00:08:32.94\00:08:33.97 It's going to be even greater. 00:08:34.00\00:08:35.03 So right now, friends, we are wandering in the wilderness 00:08:35.06\00:08:37.66 and just as they were wandering in the wilderness, 00:08:37.69\00:08:39.91 God reinstituted the weekly cycle 00:08:39.94\00:08:43.66 and reinstituted the seventh day Sabbath. 00:08:43.69\00:08:46.28 And how did He do this? 00:08:46.31\00:08:47.71 Not just by writing it down on Table of Stone 00:08:47.74\00:08:49.99 and in His law, but he did it first 00:08:50.02\00:08:52.77 by raining manna down from heaven. 00:08:52.80\00:08:55.64 I invite you to take your Bible with me 00:08:55.67\00:08:57.01 and go to the Book of Exodus 16, 00:08:57.04\00:08:59.26 as we find how God reinstituted the weekly cycle 00:08:59.29\00:09:03.05 even before he gave the Ten Commandments 00:09:03.08\00:09:06.10 in written stone on Mount Sinai. 00:09:06.13\00:09:08.33 The Bible says in Exodus 16:26, 00:09:08.36\00:09:10.98 God says, "Six days shall you gather it. 00:09:11.01\00:09:13.25 Talking about the heavenly bread. 00:09:13.28\00:09:15.03 But on the seventh day, which is the Sabbath, 00:09:15.06\00:09:18.11 in it there shall be none. 00:09:18.14\00:09:19.57 And it came to pass that there went out 00:09:19.60\00:09:21.15 some of the people on the seventh day 00:09:21.18\00:09:22.57 for to gather and they found none. 00:09:22.60\00:09:24.02 And the Lord said to Moses, 00:09:24.05\00:09:25.70 how long refuse you to keep my, what, 00:09:25.73\00:09:29.44 commandments and my laws? 00:09:29.47\00:09:30.80 See, for that the Lord hath given you the Sabbath, 00:09:30.83\00:09:32.81 therefore he gives you on the sixth day. 00:09:32.84\00:09:35.22 On the which day? 00:09:35.25\00:09:36.40 The sixth day, the bread of two days, 00:09:36.43\00:09:38.84 abide ye every man in his place 00:09:38.87\00:09:40.56 and let no man go out of his place on the seventh day. 00:09:40.59\00:09:43.28 So the people did what? 00:09:43.31\00:09:45.00 Rested on the seventh day." 00:09:45.03\00:09:47.37 Here we find Israel's hungry. 00:09:47.40\00:09:48.59 God said, "I am going rain down manna from heaven 00:09:48.62\00:09:50.59 and for the first six days 00:09:50.62\00:09:52.31 you will gather it every single morning. 00:09:52.34\00:09:54.88 I am going to provide for your daily needs, 00:09:54.91\00:09:57.19 but you know, there are some people that were lazy. 00:09:57.22\00:10:00.00 There are some people that wanted 00:10:00.03\00:10:01.06 to sleep in the next morning. 00:10:01.09\00:10:02.80 And so what they try to do, they try to gather 00:10:02.83\00:10:05.09 extra amount of bread to preserve for the next day 00:10:05.12\00:10:08.61 so that next day they can sleep in. 00:10:08.64\00:10:10.55 But they find it, whenever they gather an extra portion 00:10:10.58\00:10:12.76 and they try to reserve it for the following day, 00:10:12.79\00:10:15.40 it would melt away, it would be unfit for them to be consumed. 00:10:15.43\00:10:18.86 You see, if they wanted to eat, 00:10:18.89\00:10:20.49 they had to go out and gather bread every single day. 00:10:20.52\00:10:24.11 Through this, God was trying to teach His children 00:10:24.14\00:10:26.62 daily dependence on Him. 00:10:26.65\00:10:29.95 Can you say amen? 00:10:29.98\00:10:31.01 And remember, when Jesus told us to pray. 00:10:31.04\00:10:32.50 He said, when we pray, we ought to say, 00:10:32.53\00:10:34.80 "Give us this day our weekly bread." 00:10:34.83\00:10:38.51 Is that what He says? Not our weekly bread, right? 00:10:38.54\00:10:41.24 Oh, what kind of bread? 00:10:41.27\00:10:42.82 But, friends, realize many people only eats 00:10:42.85\00:10:44.76 spiritually once a week. 00:10:44.79\00:10:46.46 They go to church and the ministers spoon-feeds them. 00:10:46.49\00:10:49.45 They are eating once a week and no wonder 00:10:49.48\00:10:51.53 why we have spiritual weaklings. 00:10:51.56\00:10:54.22 Because what happens if you eat only once a week? 00:10:54.25\00:10:56.67 You go weak and you starve and you end up dying. 00:10:56.70\00:10:59.50 Isn't that right? 00:10:59.53\00:11:00.56 You see, brothers and sisters, 00:11:00.59\00:11:01.62 we need to eat the word of God every single day. 00:11:01.65\00:11:05.20 The Bible says, "Man shall not live by bread alone, 00:11:05.23\00:11:07.60 but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God." 00:11:07.63\00:11:10.69 And so God was trying to teach them and us tonight 00:11:10.72\00:11:12.95 that I'll take care of your daily needs 00:11:12.98\00:11:15.08 as long as you trust me day by day. 00:11:15.11\00:11:18.24 Can you say amen? 00:11:18.27\00:11:19.30 And so this is what happened, God will rain down bread 00:11:19.33\00:11:21.04 for the first five days, 00:11:21.07\00:11:22.21 but then on the sixth day of the week, the what day? 00:11:22.24\00:11:25.95 The sixth day in the Bible was called the preparation day. 00:11:25.98\00:11:28.61 What was they call it? 00:11:28.64\00:11:30.05 And on the preparation day, the sixth day of the week, 00:11:30.08\00:11:32.54 God will rain down a double portion of manna 00:11:32.57\00:11:35.92 and that extra portion that was gathered on the sixth day 00:11:35.95\00:11:39.00 would be preserved to the seventh day 00:11:39.03\00:11:41.36 which was the Sabbath because on that day 00:11:41.39\00:11:43.44 there will be no manna from heaven 00:11:43.47\00:11:44.82 because God wanted the people to rest 00:11:44.85\00:11:46.77 and not to have to worry. 00:11:46.80\00:11:49.39 Not to have to, what? 00:11:49.42\00:11:50.77 Worry about their physical necessities. 00:11:50.80\00:11:54.97 And God did this every single week 00:11:55.00\00:11:58.55 for 40 years in the wilderness. 00:11:58.58\00:12:00.80 Friends, I want you to notice what would happen. 00:12:00.83\00:12:03.15 How many miracles did God performed 00:12:03.18\00:12:05.35 to reinstitute the weekly cycle? 00:12:05.38\00:12:07.43 At least three miracles a week. 00:12:07.46\00:12:09.52 What is the first miracle? 00:12:09.55\00:12:10.80 That He rained down manna from heaven. 00:12:10.83\00:12:12.58 Second miracle, on the sixth day it was the double portion. 00:12:12.61\00:12:15.40 Third miracle, on that portion was preserved to the seventh. 00:12:15.43\00:12:18.70 And so at least three miracles a week, 00:12:18.73\00:12:20.60 every single week. 00:12:20.63\00:12:21.68 For 52 weeks per year, for 40 years equals 00:12:21.71\00:12:26.33 6,240 miracles simply to reinstitute the weekly cycle. 00:12:26.36\00:12:32.65 Friends, God has never performed that amount of miracles 00:12:32.68\00:12:35.56 for anything else in the Bible. 00:12:35.59\00:12:37.58 God was wanting His people to understand 00:12:37.61\00:12:39.75 the importance of rest and trust in Him. 00:12:39.78\00:12:44.04 Can you say amen? 00:12:44.07\00:12:45.20 And so God was saying, I will take care of your needs. 00:12:45.23\00:12:48.02 I will provide for all of your physical needs 00:12:48.05\00:12:50.29 if you trust me and follow me. 00:12:50.32\00:12:52.76 And so we find that the Sabbath, friends, 00:12:52.79\00:12:54.83 was a special sign of man's trust in God's watch care 00:12:54.86\00:12:59.00 and God's watch care over those who chose to follow Him. 00:12:59.03\00:13:03.03 And such to God was saying, 00:13:03.06\00:13:04.13 I will always provide for your physical needs 00:13:04.16\00:13:06.24 as long as you put Me first. 00:13:06.27\00:13:08.92 Can you say amen? 00:13:08.95\00:13:10.07 Bible tells us that God honors those who honor Him 00:13:10.10\00:13:13.32 and we should never be afraid of following the Lord. 00:13:13.35\00:13:15.85 You know, sometimes following the Lord might cost us things, 00:13:15.88\00:13:18.74 it might costs us a sacrifice, a surrender, 00:13:18.77\00:13:21.01 maybe a losing of a job or someone not looking at us funny 00:13:21.04\00:13:25.38 or thinking that we were weird, but friends, 00:13:25.41\00:13:27.06 if we serve the Lord and trust Him and rest in Him, 00:13:27.09\00:13:31.22 He will always take care of us. 00:13:31.25\00:13:32.88 And I'm thankful for that. How about you? 00:13:32.91\00:13:35.19 And so we find the Sabbath was a special sign. 00:13:35.22\00:13:37.76 Now I want you to notice, the Sabbath not only taught us 00:13:37.79\00:13:40.62 about creation and about how God cares about us 00:13:40.65\00:13:44.19 provides for our needs, but the Sabbath was also a sign 00:13:44.22\00:13:47.60 of how God wants to save us and sanctify us. 00:13:47.63\00:13:51.70 Notice what it says in Ezekiel 20:12. 00:13:51.73\00:13:54.96 The Bible says, "Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, 00:13:54.99\00:13:58.11 to be a--" What is that word? 00:13:58.14\00:14:00.01 "A sign between me and them, that they might know 00:14:00.04\00:14:03.15 that I am the Lord that, does what? 00:14:03.18\00:14:05.81 Sanctify them." 00:14:05.84\00:14:06.88 So we find that the Sabbath was a sign 00:14:06.91\00:14:08.87 that God is the Lord and the Lord sanctifies us. 00:14:08.90\00:14:12.20 And, friends, remind me. 00:14:12.23\00:14:13.26 What is that word sanctify mean? 00:14:13.29\00:14:14.94 To set apart for a holy use. 00:14:14.97\00:14:18.77 You see, the same way God set apart the seventh day 00:14:18.80\00:14:21.56 as holy time, He wants to do that with you and with me. 00:14:21.59\00:14:25.69 He wants to set us apart from the world. 00:14:25.72\00:14:27.86 He wants to make us holy. 00:14:27.89\00:14:29.43 He wants to set us aside for salvation. 00:14:29.46\00:14:32.13 And, friends, when we keep the seven-day Sabbath, 00:14:32.16\00:14:34.10 that is an outwards sign that we acknowledge. 00:14:34.13\00:14:36.47 God, I understand that I can never save or sanctify myself 00:14:36.50\00:14:41.20 that all my works are like filthy rags. 00:14:41.23\00:14:43.79 Therefore, I am resting in the seventh day of the week, 00:14:43.82\00:14:46.43 acknowledging that You re the only one 00:14:46.46\00:14:48.54 that can sanctify or save me, 00:14:48.57\00:14:50.46 that You are the Lord of my life. 00:14:50.49\00:14:52.22 You see, this is important because many people think 00:14:52.25\00:14:54.38 that those who keep the Sabbath are legalists, 00:14:54.41\00:14:57.02 trying to work their way to heaven. 00:14:57.05\00:14:58.59 But in reality, the Sabbath teaches us just the opposite. 00:14:58.62\00:15:02.03 You see, when we rest on the seventh day, 00:15:02.06\00:15:03.95 we are acknowledging. 00:15:03.98\00:15:05.01 We're saying to God, God, I understand 00:15:05.04\00:15:06.56 that if I was to work seven days a week, 00:15:06.59\00:15:08.55 I can never work my way to heaven. 00:15:08.58\00:15:11.03 My good deeds are filthy rags. 00:15:11.06\00:15:13.30 Therefore, I'm resting in Your work. 00:15:13.33\00:15:16.85 In whose work? 00:15:16.88\00:15:18.28 The work that you have done, I am resting in it 00:15:18.31\00:15:21.47 because I know that you are the only one that can save me 00:15:21.50\00:15:23.99 and so I am giving you the permission to complete the work 00:15:24.02\00:15:27.41 in my life. 00:15:27.44\00:15:28.47 It's an outward sign how God is the only one 00:15:28.50\00:15:31.76 that can save us and sanctify us. 00:15:31.79\00:15:34.02 Thus, we see that the Sabbath is also a symbol of salvation 00:15:34.05\00:15:38.21 by grace and grace alone, not of works 00:15:38.24\00:15:42.22 unless any man should bow. 00:15:42.25\00:15:43.69 Can you say amen? 00:15:43.72\00:15:44.90 It teaches us about resting in the completed work of Christ. 00:15:44.93\00:15:49.39 It's only by your work, Lord, for me and in me 00:15:49.42\00:15:52.61 that I can be saved. 00:15:52.64\00:15:54.13 But, you know, there are some Christians that are confused. 00:15:54.16\00:15:57.01 They think that when Jesus came 00:15:57.04\00:15:58.76 that He came to change the Sabbath 00:15:58.79\00:16:00.43 or to do away with the law. 00:16:00.46\00:16:01.89 Notice what it says in Matthew 5:17. 00:16:01.92\00:16:05.22 "Think not that I am come 00:16:05.25\00:16:07.06 to destroy the law, or the prophets. 00:16:07.09\00:16:08.75 I am not come to destroy, but to, what?" 00:16:08.78\00:16:11.66 So Jesus said, don't even entertain the thought 00:16:11.69\00:16:14.21 that I am come to destroy the law. 00:16:14.24\00:16:15.75 This is not the reason why I've come. 00:16:15.78\00:16:17.96 I came not to destroy, but to fulfill it. 00:16:17.99\00:16:19.93 And, friends, that word fulfill means to fill to the full. 00:16:19.96\00:16:24.33 To fill out in its full measure. 00:16:24.36\00:16:26.72 And what it means is to establish. 00:16:26.75\00:16:28.82 That's what it means in the original language. 00:16:28.85\00:16:30.97 Jesus came not to destroy the law, 00:16:31.00\00:16:33.02 but to live it out, to fill it to the full, 00:16:33.05\00:16:35.26 to give us an example of what it means 00:16:35.29\00:16:37.94 to keep the law of God motivated by love for our Lord. 00:16:37.97\00:16:42.16 And, friends, when Jesus came, 00:16:42.19\00:16:44.06 He kept the seventh day Sabbath and He showed us 00:16:44.09\00:16:47.44 what it means to truly enter into the sweet rest of the Lord. 00:16:47.47\00:16:51.84 You see, friends, when you study the gospels 00:16:51.87\00:16:53.35 you will discover that during the time of Christ, 00:16:53.38\00:16:56.66 the Sabbath commandment was burdensome to many people. 00:16:56.69\00:17:00.46 And the reason why is because of the Pharisees. 00:17:00.49\00:17:02.92 The who? 00:17:02.95\00:17:04.24 The religious leaders of the day, the pastors of the day. 00:17:04.27\00:17:07.78 They attached many manmade requirements 00:17:07.81\00:17:10.78 to God's commandment. 00:17:10.81\00:17:12.24 There are many legalists that lost the joy of Sabbath-keeping 00:17:12.27\00:17:16.65 by attaching their own rules and regulations. 00:17:16.68\00:17:19.09 You study the Jewish, extra Jewish writings, 00:17:19.12\00:17:21.15 the mission and what not. 00:17:21.18\00:17:22.21 They had so many laws that they attached to the Sabbath 00:17:22.24\00:17:25.08 that was not from God. 00:17:25.11\00:17:27.31 So they made it a very burdensome 00:17:27.34\00:17:29.06 and a very legalistic day. 00:17:29.09\00:17:31.78 And so Christ, when He came, He came to remove 00:17:31.81\00:17:34.55 the heavy yoke that the Jews placed upon the Sabbath. 00:17:34.58\00:17:38.28 And through His own life, he came to show us 00:17:38.31\00:17:40.97 what it really means to keep it in holiness. 00:17:41.00\00:17:43.65 You see, the Pharisees made it a burden, 00:17:43.68\00:17:45.71 but Christ made it a blessing. 00:17:45.74\00:17:48.20 Can you say amen? 00:17:48.23\00:17:49.31 And, friends, we have to be clear tonight. 00:17:49.34\00:17:50.99 You know, there are many Christians who think 00:17:51.02\00:17:52.56 that Jesus was against the Sabbath, but not at all. 00:17:52.59\00:17:55.61 He was against the legalistic way 00:17:55.64\00:17:57.16 that the Pharisees were keeping the Sabbath, 00:17:57.19\00:17:59.31 but He came to live up the Sabbath. 00:17:59.34\00:18:00.98 It shows what it really means find sweet joy and rest in it 00:18:01.01\00:18:04.75 and many Christians have thrown the baby out 00:18:04.78\00:18:07.42 with the bath water. 00:18:07.45\00:18:08.68 They think because Jesus was against 00:18:08.71\00:18:10.29 the legalistic requirements of the Pharisees 00:18:10.32\00:18:12.50 that He was against the law of God, 00:18:12.53\00:18:13.90 but we see that, that is not the case. 00:18:13.93\00:18:15.83 He came to fill it to the full to live it out showing us 00:18:15.86\00:18:19.35 what it means to enter in to the rest of the Lord. 00:18:19.38\00:18:22.00 And, friends, if that's clear, would you please say amen? 00:18:22.03\00:18:24.23 Now notice, Luke 4:16 the Bible tells us, 00:18:24.26\00:18:27.68 " And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, 00:18:27.71\00:18:30.77 and as his custom was, he went into the synagogue 00:18:30.80\00:18:33.61 on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read." 00:18:33.64\00:18:37.12 Here we find Jesus was a Sabbath-keeper 00:18:37.15\00:18:39.17 and He is our example in all things. 00:18:39.20\00:18:41.82 Can you say amen? He is fulfilling it. 00:18:41.85\00:18:43.55 He's living it out, giving us an example to follow. 00:18:43.58\00:18:46.24 Now we did learned last that night there was a law 00:18:46.27\00:18:48.68 that was abolished at the cross, there was a law that was 00:18:48.71\00:18:52.55 nailed to the cross that we don't have to keep anymore, 00:18:52.58\00:18:54.90 but it wasn't the ten commandants. 00:18:54.93\00:18:56.55 Which law was it, tell me? 00:18:56.58\00:18:58.42 It was the ceremonial laws, right? 00:18:58.45\00:19:00.37 The laws of Moses, the sacrificial laws. 00:19:00.40\00:19:03.12 Notice, Colossians 2:14 is not talking about 00:19:03.15\00:19:05.79 the seventh day Sabbath or the tem commandments, 00:19:05.82\00:19:08.57 it's talking about the sacrificial ceremonial laws 00:19:08.60\00:19:11.66 that were given to take care of sin. 00:19:11.69\00:19:14.82 Notice in Colossians 2:14 it says, 00:19:14.85\00:19:17.33 "Blotting out the handwriting of what, 00:19:17.36\00:19:20.40 ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, 00:19:20.43\00:19:23.81 took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." 00:19:23.84\00:19:27.92 You see, friends, these ceremonial 00:19:27.95\00:19:29.29 sacrificial ordinances, these were the ones 00:19:29.32\00:19:31.74 that were nailed to the cross. 00:19:31.77\00:19:32.80 So the reason why they were finished at the cross 00:19:32.83\00:19:34.75 is because these ordinances were prophesies 00:19:34.78\00:19:38.39 to point us to Christ. 00:19:38.42\00:19:40.72 Notice Verse 17, it tells us which law it's referring to. 00:19:40.75\00:19:43.57 Verse 17 tells us, "Which are a shadow of, what? 00:19:43.60\00:19:48.15 Things to come, but the body is of, who? 00:19:48.18\00:19:52.72 So the Bible tells us that the sacrificial ordinances, 00:19:52.75\00:19:55.25 the ceremonies were simply shadows prefiguring 00:19:55.28\00:19:58.66 and pointing us to Jesus Christ. 00:19:58.69\00:20:00.75 And so when Jesus comes in the flesh, 00:20:00.78\00:20:02.95 there's no longer any need 00:20:02.98\00:20:04.35 for these sacrificial ceremonial laws, 00:20:04.38\00:20:06.52 but it's not referring to the Ten Commandments 00:20:06.55\00:20:08.30 nor the seventh day Sabbath. 00:20:08.33\00:20:09.81 It's referring to the sacrifices. 00:20:09.84\00:20:11.94 Now, friends, everything associated with the 00:20:11.97\00:20:13.62 earthly temple came to an end in Jesus. 00:20:13.65\00:20:17.47 And apart of this ceremonial law were the ceremonial feast days 00:20:17.50\00:20:22.45 that also pointed and taught about Jesus Christ. 00:20:22.48\00:20:25.83 Now these feast days in the Bible were also called Sabbaths 00:20:25.86\00:20:29.19 because on these days God wanted His people to rest as well. 00:20:29.22\00:20:32.43 And there are seven feasts that are part of this law, 00:20:32.46\00:20:35.35 the feast of Passover and trumpets and Pentecost, 00:20:35.38\00:20:37.65 the day of atonement, tabernacle and so forth and so on. 00:20:37.68\00:20:40.46 And, friends, there are many people who are confused. 00:20:40.49\00:20:43.17 They think that the yearly feast Sabbaths 00:20:43.20\00:20:45.79 were the same thing as the weekly seventh day Sabbaths. 00:20:45.82\00:20:48.47 And there are even some people in the Christian world 00:20:48.50\00:20:50.09 that try to place a yearly feast days 00:20:50.12\00:20:52.59 on an equal plain with the weakly seventh day Sabbath. 00:20:52.62\00:20:55.53 But, friends, I want to show you on the screen 00:20:55.56\00:20:57.38 that they were a part of two different and distinctive laws. 00:20:57.41\00:21:01.65 You see, the seventh day Sabbath 00:21:01.68\00:21:03.24 was a part of the Ten Commandments. 00:21:03.27\00:21:04.82 It was the fourth commandment, 00:21:04.85\00:21:05.92 whereas the feast Sabbath 00:21:05.95\00:21:07.36 were part of the ceremonial ordinances. 00:21:07.39\00:21:09.25 The seventh day Sabbath fell every single week, 00:21:09.28\00:21:12.07 every seventh day whereas the early feast Sabbath, 00:21:12.10\00:21:14.96 it's fell on different days and dates throughout the year. 00:21:14.99\00:21:17.85 The seventh day Sabbath was given before sin ever existed 00:21:17.88\00:21:20.94 way back in the Garden of Eden 00:21:20.97\00:21:22.35 whereas the feast days were given after sin. 00:21:22.38\00:21:24.45 Why? Because they-- It will teach us 00:21:24.48\00:21:26.34 about the savior of sin, which is Jesus. 00:21:26.37\00:21:29.90 The seventh day Sabbath was written by God's own finger, 00:21:29.93\00:21:33.83 whereas the early feast Sabbaths were handwritten by Mosses. 00:21:33.86\00:21:36.64 The seventh day Sabbath was written on stone, 00:21:36.67\00:21:38.42 the feast Sabbaths written in a book, 00:21:38.45\00:21:39.91 seventh day Sabbath placed inside the Ark of the Covenant, 00:21:39.94\00:21:42.89 the feast Sabbaths placed on the side of the Ark of the Covenant. 00:21:42.92\00:21:46.30 The seventh day Sabbath with the rest of the ten 00:21:46.33\00:21:47.99 will lasts for all eternity 00:21:48.02\00:21:50.64 whereas the yearly feast Sabbaths came to an end 00:21:50.67\00:21:52.85 and were nailed to the cross. 00:21:52.88\00:21:55.55 You see, friends, the Bible tells us very clearly 00:21:55.58\00:21:58.17 that there were two different 00:21:58.20\00:21:59.81 and distinctive laws that they are part of. 00:21:59.84\00:22:02.61 Are you with me, yes or no? 00:22:02.64\00:22:04.23 Now, friends, the reason why these came to an end once again 00:22:04.26\00:22:06.83 is because they were to point us to Jesus. 00:22:06.86\00:22:09.88 They were shadows of things to come. 00:22:09.91\00:22:13.28 And, friends, when we understand-- 00:22:13.31\00:22:15.15 Here's the question. 00:22:15.18\00:22:16.65 Should Christians observe these yearly fest Sabbaths? 00:22:16.68\00:22:19.09 Many people are asking this and I don't have the time to 00:22:19.12\00:22:21.46 get into it tonight, but I am going to give you handout 00:22:21.49\00:22:23.50 on your way out tonight that answers this question 00:22:23.53\00:22:25.40 about a four or five page handout. 00:22:25.43\00:22:27.36 Should Christians observe the Israelite festivals? 00:22:27.39\00:22:29.36 And that explains it in detail. 00:22:29.39\00:22:31.08 Now here's the short answer though. 00:22:31.11\00:22:32.76 We ought to study these feast to understand 00:22:32.79\00:22:35.25 and examine their significance in Christ. 00:22:35.28\00:22:38.12 Well, because Christ has come and when we understand 00:22:38.15\00:22:40.25 how it teaches us about Jesus, 00:22:40.28\00:22:42.99 it is no longer necessary to keep these feast Sabbaths. 00:22:43.02\00:22:46.59 You see, when the Bible tells us. 00:22:46.62\00:22:48.23 Therefore let's keep the feasts we do it in a spiritual way 00:22:48.26\00:22:51.17 by following Jesus in the anti-typical Day of Atonement. 00:22:51.20\00:22:54.51 You remember we studied it the other night 00:22:54.54\00:22:55.93 that where is Jesus right now. 00:22:55.96\00:22:57.53 He is in heaven. In where? 00:22:57.56\00:22:59.92 The Most Holy Place because this is the Day of Atonement. 00:22:59.95\00:23:03.06 Not a literal day, but the anti- typical day of atonement 00:23:03.09\00:23:06.09 where He is cleansing the century above. 00:23:06.12\00:23:08.56 And we join Him by faith as we search our hearts 00:23:08.59\00:23:12.60 and let Him cleanse the soul century of sin 00:23:12.63\00:23:15.53 by confession and repentance to God. 00:23:15.56\00:23:18.62 And, friends, there's a lot more we can say about that, 00:23:18.65\00:23:21.48 but don't miss the main point that I am trying to make. 00:23:21.51\00:23:23.32 Not all you needed that, but some of you perhaps did. 00:23:23.35\00:23:25.33 Here's what everyone needs though tonight 00:23:25.36\00:23:27.15 is that-- s that "Christ came to finish, not the moral law 00:23:27.18\00:23:30.79 or the Ten Commandments, 00:23:30.82\00:23:32.18 but He came to put and end to the ceremonial law, 00:23:32.21\00:23:34.44 the ordinance that was to teach us 00:23:34.47\00:23:36.74 about His ministry here in this world." 00:23:36.77\00:23:39.49 And, friends, if that's clear would you please say amen? 00:23:39.52\00:23:41.77 The fourth commandment still remains 00:23:41.80\00:23:43.25 just like the rest of the ten. 00:23:43.28\00:23:44.81 And how do we know that? Because, friends, you tell me, 00:23:44.84\00:23:46.67 is it right or wrong to kill? 00:23:46.70\00:23:50.18 Friend, you need to be a lot quicker than that. 00:23:50.21\00:23:53.85 Is it wrong to kill, yes or no? 00:23:53.88\00:23:55.86 Is it wrong to abort babies, yes or no? 00:23:55.89\00:23:58.38 Is it wrong to steal? 00:23:58.41\00:24:00.49 What about commit adultery? 00:24:00.52\00:24:02.10 What about taking God's name in vain? 00:24:02.13\00:24:03.97 And why is it wrong? 00:24:04.00\00:24:05.93 Because that's the Ten Commandments. 00:24:05.96\00:24:07.89 And apart of those same commandments that we say, yes, 00:24:07.92\00:24:10.27 that's-- We still can't kill after the cause, 00:24:10.30\00:24:12.68 apart of that same command that says 00:24:12.71\00:24:14.13 is the fourth commandment that says, 00:24:14.16\00:24:15.43 remember the seventh day Sabbath. 00:24:15.46\00:24:17.22 You see, we cannot divorce the fourth commandment 00:24:17.25\00:24:19.77 from the Ten Commandments. 00:24:19.80\00:24:21.21 Either they're all going to stand together 00:24:21.24\00:24:23.21 or they're all going to fall together. 00:24:23.24\00:24:26.48 We can't treat God's law like a buffet. 00:24:26.51\00:24:28.92 What do you do at buffet? 00:24:28.95\00:24:30.47 You pick and choose, isn't that right? 00:24:30.50\00:24:32.38 But, friends, God as we mentioned before, 00:24:32.41\00:24:34.30 "He who keeps the whole law." 00:24:34.33\00:24:35.61 And, you know, friend, in one point is guilty of all. 00:24:35.64\00:24:38.39 And therefore just as Paul said in the Book of Hebrews 4:9, 00:24:38.42\00:24:43.15 "There remains therefore a rest to the people of God." 00:24:43.18\00:24:49.92 And, friends, how many of you are thankful 00:24:49.95\00:24:51.86 that there is still remains a rest even after the cross? 00:24:51.89\00:24:54.14 Can you say amen? 00:24:54.17\00:24:55.59 Now that's clear in the Bible that 00:24:55.62\00:24:57.99 the seventh day is the Sabbath, 00:24:58.02\00:24:59.75 but many people asked, "Well, can we really be sure 00:24:59.78\00:25:01.80 which day the seventh day of the week it is?" 00:25:01.83\00:25:04.90 We know that it doesn't say a seventh day 00:25:04.93\00:25:06.62 as if we can just chose one out of seven. 00:25:06.65\00:25:09.00 It says the seventh day. 00:25:09.03\00:25:10.26 And so many people wondering, 00:25:10.29\00:25:11.90 can we really be sure which day it is. 00:25:11.93\00:25:13.46 There is seven days in the week, which one is it? 00:25:13.49\00:25:15.80 We have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 00:25:15.83\00:25:17.08 Thursday, Friday, Saturday. 00:25:17.11\00:25:18.17 Which one is the biblical Sabbath? 00:25:18.20\00:25:19.95 Well, friends, if we could not know what day 00:25:19.98\00:25:23.45 the seventh day of the week was, that means that 00:25:23.48\00:25:26.04 this is the law that we would not be able to keep. 00:25:26.07\00:25:29.14 And, friends, would God ask us 00:25:29.17\00:25:31.85 to do something that it's impossible to do? 00:25:31.88\00:25:34.37 Would God ever ask us to do something 00:25:34.40\00:25:35.77 that is impossible, yes or no? 00:25:35.80\00:25:37.19 Of course, not. 00:25:37.22\00:25:38.54 If He did, He would be unfair and unjust. 00:25:38.57\00:25:41.59 But, friends, God is a fair and a juts God. 00:25:41.62\00:25:43.76 Can you say amen? 00:25:43.79\00:25:45.00 And so He has not left us to guess 00:25:45.03\00:25:47.47 which day the seven day of the week is. 00:25:47.50\00:25:49.83 There are many ways to confirm it. 00:25:49.86\00:25:51.58 In what ways? 00:25:51.61\00:25:53.30 Friends, the Bible makes it clear 00:25:53.33\00:25:55.87 which day the seventh day of the week is. 00:25:55.90\00:25:57.42 Not only that, but dictionaries make it clear, the calendars, 00:25:57.45\00:26:00.28 even astronomy and language make it clear 00:26:00.31\00:26:03.63 which day the seventh day of the week is. 00:26:03.66\00:26:05.68 And so first let's go to the Bible 00:26:05.71\00:26:07.22 to find out which day it is. 00:26:07.25\00:26:08.52 Please open now with me to the Book of Luke 23. 00:26:08.55\00:26:11.57 Luke. What chapter are we going to? 00:26:11.60\00:26:13.97 Friends, remember what are we doing tonight? 00:26:14.00\00:26:16.23 Tonight, we are defining what the sign is. 00:26:16.26\00:26:20.55 And then tomorrow night, we'll discover 00:26:20.58\00:26:23.21 why it's so important. 00:26:23.24\00:26:25.25 And so, friends, listen tonight it's 00:26:25.28\00:26:26.41 somewhat of an informational topic, 00:26:26.44\00:26:28.10 somewhat of a proof texting you can say, 00:26:28.13\00:26:30.32 but that's essential because it's foundational. 00:26:30.35\00:26:32.61 And a house is only as strong as its foundation. 00:26:32.64\00:26:35.90 And so as we have a good solid foundation 00:26:35.93\00:26:38.57 then we'll be able to understand the theological house that we'll 00:26:38.60\00:26:41.93 continue to built in the word of God, 00:26:41.96\00:26:44.34 from the word of God, I should say. 00:26:44.37\00:26:45.89 And so notice, what day is the seventh day of the week? 00:26:45.92\00:26:49.04 Notice in the Book of Luke 23:53, the Bible says, 00:26:49.07\00:26:54.63 "And he took it down, and wrapped it in linen, 00:26:54.66\00:26:56.52 and laid it in a sepulcher that was hewn in stone, 00:26:56.55\00:27:00.45 wherein never man before was laid. 00:27:00.48\00:27:02.84 And that day was the, what? 00:27:02.87\00:27:05.83 Preparation, and the Sabbath drew on." 00:27:05.86\00:27:09.07 So here, we find Jesus dies 00:27:09.10\00:27:11.89 on what, the Bible calls the day of preparation, 00:27:11.92\00:27:15.16 which was the sixth day of the week, 00:27:15.19\00:27:17.28 the day before the Sabbath day. 00:27:17.31\00:27:20.27 Friends, what day the Jesus died? 00:27:20.30\00:27:21.78 The sixth day of the week. 00:27:21.81\00:27:23.25 And, friends, remember when He died on the cross, 00:27:23.28\00:27:25.83 there was something He said just before He died. 00:27:25.86\00:27:28.14 Do you remember what He said? 00:27:28.17\00:27:29.37 He said, "It is finished." 00:27:29.40\00:27:34.54 And then he dies and then immediately after that, 00:27:34.57\00:27:37.92 His body has taken down cross 00:27:37.95\00:27:40.08 and is placed in the sepulcher where the body of Jesus 00:27:40.11\00:27:44.50 where he rests on which day? 00:27:44.53\00:27:47.35 On the Sabbath day. 00:27:47.38\00:27:48.68 Friends, when was the last time God ended 00:27:48.71\00:27:51.75 something on the sixth say and the rested the seventh day? 00:27:51.78\00:27:55.17 When was the last time? 00:27:55.20\00:27:56.55 When He created man, remember that? 00:27:56.58\00:27:58.76 On the sixth day of the week, God made man 00:27:58.79\00:28:01.12 and right after He created man, it was finished. 00:28:01.15\00:28:04.60 And then He rests on the first Sabbath of creation. 00:28:04.63\00:28:08.94 And we find that what God did when He created man, 00:28:08.97\00:28:12.67 He repeats when He redeems man. 00:28:12.70\00:28:16.56 When He recreates man by sacrificing on cross. 00:28:16.59\00:28:19.97 Jesus says, it is finish, He dies and through His death 00:28:20.00\00:28:24.08 man can be redeemed or man can be restored 00:28:24.11\00:28:27.54 or recreated we could say. 00:28:27.57\00:28:29.41 And then after that, Jesus rests on the Sabbath in His death 00:28:29.44\00:28:32.88 which gives us another beautiful dimension of the Sabbath. 00:28:32.91\00:28:35.91 It doesn't just point us back to creation, 00:28:35.94\00:28:38.16 but it points us to the fact that Jesus is our Savior, 00:28:38.19\00:28:41.29 our sacrifice, He spilt His blood 00:28:41.32\00:28:43.87 and because of His sacrifice, 00:28:43.90\00:28:45.50 we are redeemed and restored by His grace. 00:28:45.53\00:28:48.26 Can you say amen? 00:28:48.29\00:28:49.78 And so we find Jesus rests in the tomb on the Sabbath 00:28:49.81\00:28:52.70 and then notice what day He rose from the grave. 00:28:52.73\00:28:55.54 Let's go now to Chapter 24:1. 00:28:55.57\00:28:58.47 Luke 24:1, the Bible says, 00:28:58.50\00:29:00.48 "Now upon the first day of the week." 00:29:00.51\00:29:02.86 The what number of the day? 00:29:02.89\00:29:04.60 "Very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulcher, 00:29:04.63\00:29:08.06 bringing the spices which they had prepared 00:29:08.09\00:29:09.94 and certain others with them and they found the stone 00:29:09.97\00:29:12.57 rolled away from the sepulcher. 00:29:12.60\00:29:14.06 And they entered in and found not the body of the Lord Jesus." 00:29:14.09\00:29:17.19 Why was His body was not there? 00:29:17.22\00:29:18.87 Because He is risen. He is alive. 00:29:18.90\00:29:21.62 We serve a risen Savior. Can you say amen? 00:29:21.65\00:29:23.87 But what day did Jesus resurrect from the grave? 00:29:23.90\00:29:27.91 The Bible says, it was the morning of the first day 00:29:27.94\00:29:32.29 of the week. 00:29:32.32\00:29:33.63 So here we find the sequence of the death, 00:29:33.66\00:29:36.16 bury and resurrection of Christ. 00:29:36.19\00:29:38.17 It helps us to deduce what day the seventh day of the week is. 00:29:38.20\00:29:42.03 Jesus dies on the sixth day of the week. 00:29:42.06\00:29:44.29 That's called the preparation day 00:29:44.32\00:29:46.08 the day before the Sabbath. 00:29:46.11\00:29:47.90 He rests in the tomb on the seventh day Sabbath. 00:29:47.93\00:29:50.25 And then He resurrects on the first day of the week. 00:29:50.28\00:29:52.75 That's' the day of resurrection, friends. 00:29:52.78\00:29:54.91 Think about it, what day do we call the day that Jesus died? 00:29:54.94\00:29:58.60 We call that Good Friday. 00:29:58.63\00:30:01.85 And the day that He resurrected from the grave 00:30:01.88\00:30:03.67 we called it Easter Sunday. 00:30:03.70\00:30:06.42 And so the day between the day He died 00:30:06.45\00:30:09.31 and day He rose again is the seventh day of the week. 00:30:09.34\00:30:12.10 It is the Sabbath. And what day is it? 00:30:12.13\00:30:14.29 It's Saturday, the seventh day of the week. 00:30:14.32\00:30:17.41 And, friends, you can also go to the dictionary to confirm this. 00:30:17.44\00:30:20.76 If you look up the word Saturday in Webster's dictionary, 00:30:20.79\00:30:23.14 the definition of the word Saturday 00:30:23.17\00:30:25.13 is the seventh day of the week. 00:30:25.16\00:30:27.35 Look up the word Sunday, the dictionary definition. 00:30:27.38\00:30:30.10 It's the first day of the week. 00:30:30.13\00:30:31.75 Not only that, but if you go to the calendar-- 00:30:31.78\00:30:33.52 Most calendars show us 00:30:33.55\00:30:34.78 that Sunday is the first day of the week 00:30:34.81\00:30:37.10 and that Saturday is the seventh day of the week. 00:30:37.13\00:30:40.13 Friends, the weekly cycle 00:30:40.16\00:30:41.30 during Christ's day is the same weekly cycle of today. 00:30:41.33\00:30:44.14 The day that we call Saturday 00:30:44.17\00:30:45.83 is the day that He kept as the Sabbath 00:30:45.86\00:30:48.46 back in the first century. 00:30:48.49\00:30:50.48 You see, friends, 00:30:50.51\00:30:51.54 the days of the week have never been altered. 00:30:51.57\00:30:52.89 In fact, let me give you the history. 00:30:52.92\00:30:54.64 The calendar that we use today 00:30:54.67\00:30:56.78 is called the Gregorian calendar. 00:30:56.81\00:30:59.48 The what calendar? 00:30:59.51\00:31:01.09 The calendar that was used during the time of Christ 00:31:01.12\00:31:03.13 in the first century was called the Julian calendar. 00:31:03.16\00:31:05.08 Which calendar? 00:31:05.11\00:31:06.44 And if you put the Julian calendar 00:31:06.47\00:31:07.98 and the Gregorian calendar side by side, 00:31:08.01\00:31:10.22 the day that was the Sabbath in the Julian is the day-- 00:31:10.25\00:31:12.80 Is the same day that we call Saturday, 00:31:12.83\00:31:15.48 the seventh day of the week. 00:31:15.51\00:31:17.45 And, friends, another way we can know for sure 00:31:17.48\00:31:19.23 what day the seventh day is through language. 00:31:19.26\00:31:20.96 Did you know that in over 105 languages in the world 00:31:20.99\00:31:24.85 the word for the seventh day of the week is not Saturday 00:31:24.88\00:31:27.82 like, we use in English, but it's the word Sabbath. 00:31:27.85\00:31:31.21 Let me give you few examples. 00:31:31.24\00:31:32.78 In Hebrew, it's the word Shabbat. 00:31:32.81\00:31:35.18 Can you say that? Shabbat. 00:31:35.21\00:31:36.78 In Greek, it's Sabbaton. 00:31:36.81\00:31:39.40 In Portuguese and Spanish, it's Sabado. 00:31:39.43\00:31:42.46 In Russian, it's Subbata. 00:31:42.49\00:31:44.79 In Polish, Sobota. 00:31:44.82\00:31:46.39 In Arabic, Sabt. 00:31:46.42\00:31:47.90 In French, Samedi. 00:31:47.93\00:31:49.26 In Armenian, Shapat. 00:31:49.29\00:31:50.99 And over hundred languages around the world 00:31:51.02\00:31:53.63 the word for the seventh day of the week, 00:31:53.66\00:31:55.61 Saturday is indeed Sabbath. 00:31:55.64\00:31:58.55 And, friends, if that's clear, would you please say amen? 00:31:58.58\00:32:01.67 Now, friends, if this is the case-- 00:32:01.70\00:32:03.18 I know the next question 00:32:03.21\00:32:04.24 you're probably wondering right now is this. 00:32:04.27\00:32:05.78 Well, why do most people keep Sunday as the Sabbath, 00:32:05.81\00:32:09.55 if that's the first day of the week? 00:32:09.58\00:32:11.38 I mean, that's the next logical question. 00:32:11.41\00:32:13.08 Friends, when I first heard this, 00:32:13.11\00:32:14.35 that was the question I asked. 00:32:14.38\00:32:15.90 I mean, if the seventh day of the week is Saturday 00:32:15.93\00:32:18.52 and Sunday is the first day of the week, 00:32:18.55\00:32:20.25 then why do the most people keep Sunday as the Sabbath. 00:32:20.28\00:32:22.82 And, friends, the answer is simple. 00:32:22.85\00:32:24.43 It's because, that's the day 00:32:24.46\00:32:25.49 that Jesus resurrected from the grave. 00:32:25.52\00:32:27.85 And many people think and assume 00:32:27.88\00:32:30.22 that because Jesus resurrected on the first day of the week 00:32:30.25\00:32:32.70 that that somehow changed 00:32:32.73\00:32:35.19 what God wrote with His own finger on Tablets of Stone. 00:32:35.22\00:32:39.83 Friends, you will not find that in the Bible. 00:32:39.86\00:32:41.70 In fact, you find just the opposite. 00:32:41.73\00:32:43.52 I want you to notice. 00:32:43.55\00:32:44.64 In Matthew 24, Jesus prophesied 00:32:44.67\00:32:47.76 about the coming destruction of Jerusalem. 00:32:47.79\00:32:50.17 He said to His people that the Roman armies 00:32:50.20\00:32:51.98 would come to destroy Jerusalem 00:32:52.01\00:32:53.40 and they will level the sanctuary. 00:32:53.43\00:32:55.24 And Jesus said, "When you see the armies come, 00:32:55.27\00:32:57.57 I want you to flee to the mountains for your life." 00:32:57.60\00:33:01.49 And then He added a very important commandment 00:33:01.52\00:33:04.32 to this-- to flee. 00:33:04.35\00:33:06.57 Notice what He said in Matthew 24:20. 00:33:06.60\00:33:09.75 "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, 00:33:09.78\00:33:12.93 neither on the," what day? 00:33:12.96\00:33:14.33 Sabbath day. 00:33:14.36\00:33:15.39 So Jesus said, "When the armies come to destroy Jerusalem, 00:33:15.42\00:33:19.21 you need to be praying that you don't have to flee 00:33:19.24\00:33:20.97 to the mountains in the winter nor on the Sabbath day." 00:33:21.00\00:33:23.93 Now, friends, question. 00:33:23.96\00:33:25.13 Why did Jesus asked disciples to pray about this? 00:33:25.16\00:33:28.79 Obviously, He did not want them 00:33:28.82\00:33:30.39 to have to flee to the mountains in the winter 00:33:30.42\00:33:33.50 because it would be hard to survive 00:33:33.53\00:33:35.15 in the cold weather during the winter season, 00:33:35.18\00:33:38.74 but He also said pray 00:33:38.77\00:33:39.94 that it doesn't happened on the Sabbath day, why? 00:33:39.97\00:33:42.27 Because think about it. 00:33:42.30\00:33:43.69 Being attack on the Sabbath 00:33:43.72\00:33:45.40 would have caused them to be so stressed out and worried. 00:33:45.43\00:33:48.29 They would break the Sabbath. 00:33:48.32\00:33:50.81 But Jesus said, "Pray that it doesn't happen on the Sabbath." 00:33:50.84\00:33:53.18 Because Jesus did not want them to break the Sabbath, 00:33:53.21\00:33:56.94 not even to save their lives, 00:33:56.97\00:33:59.44 much less to save a job, friends. 00:33:59.47\00:34:02.59 Now tell me, do you think Jesus knew exactly 00:34:02.62\00:34:05.70 when Jerusalem was going to be destroyed? 00:34:05.73\00:34:07.34 Yes or no? Of course. 00:34:07.37\00:34:09.15 And when was Jerusalem destroyed? 00:34:09.18\00:34:11.34 It happened about 40 years 00:34:11.37\00:34:13.38 after the resurrection, in the year AD 70. 00:34:13.41\00:34:18.22 Now, friends, why did Christ ask the disciples 00:34:18.25\00:34:20.69 to pray that they wouldn't have to flee on the Sabbath 00:34:20.72\00:34:23.72 when He knew that this event 00:34:23.75\00:34:25.29 would happen after the resurrection? 00:34:25.32\00:34:27.33 Because Jesus knew that the resurrection 00:34:27.36\00:34:29.15 would not change the Sabbath. 00:34:29.18\00:34:30.95 Are you with me, yes or no? 00:34:30.98\00:34:32.35 It remains the same. 00:34:32.38\00:34:33.78 Otherwise, Jesus wouldn't have asked them 00:34:33.81\00:34:35.89 to pray that they wouldn't have to flee on the Sabbath. 00:34:35.92\00:34:37.82 You would said, "Pray that you wouldn't have to flee 00:34:37.85\00:34:39.62 on the first day of the week 00:34:39.65\00:34:41.23 if the resurrection changed the Sabbath." 00:34:41.26\00:34:43.65 Don't miss the point. 00:34:43.68\00:34:44.95 Christ intended His people 00:34:44.98\00:34:46.82 to keep the Sabbath even 40 years after His resurrection. 00:34:46.85\00:34:50.45 Friends, the resurrection does not change 00:34:50.48\00:34:52.76 what God wrote with His own finger on Tablets of Stone. 00:34:52.79\00:34:56.63 Are you with me, yes or no? 00:34:56.66\00:34:57.81 And remember, friends, when people say, 00:34:57.84\00:34:59.55 it's written in stone, what do they mean by that? 00:34:59.58\00:35:02.88 They mean that it can't be changed. 00:35:02.91\00:35:05.61 And that's the same thing with the Sabbath. 00:35:05.64\00:35:07.10 And not only that, friends, but I want you to notice. 00:35:07.13\00:35:09.03 We even find in the New Testament, 00:35:09.06\00:35:10.95 God's people, the disciples 00:35:10.98\00:35:12.47 keeping the Sabbath after the resurrection. 00:35:12.50\00:35:14.96 And we find this happening over 80 times in the New Testament. 00:35:14.99\00:35:19.98 How many times? 00:35:20.01\00:35:21.23 The New Testament shows us God's church. 00:35:21.26\00:35:24.14 The New Testament church made of Jews and Gentiles 00:35:24.17\00:35:26.69 keeping the Sabbath over 80 times. 00:35:26.72\00:35:28.15 Now, friends, let's take a look at all 80 times 00:35:28.18\00:35:30.74 very quickly before we close tonight. 00:35:30.77\00:35:32.25 And don't be nervous. 00:35:32.28\00:35:33.31 It's going to go by very quickly. 00:35:33.34\00:35:34.69 Here's what the Bible tells us. 00:35:34.72\00:35:36.25 Please, write it down. 00:35:36.28\00:35:37.32 Acts 13:14, the Bible says, 00:35:37.35\00:35:40.21 "And they came to Antioch in Pisidia, 00:35:40.24\00:35:42.65 and went into the synagogue on the," what? 00:35:42.68\00:35:45.77 "On the Sabbath day, and sat down." 00:35:45.80\00:35:48.28 This is after the resurrection of Christ. 00:35:48.31\00:35:50.28 They go into the synagogue 00:35:50.31\00:35:51.51 and the Jews asked the Apostle Paul to preach to them. 00:35:51.54\00:35:54.66 Now, friends, listen. 00:35:54.69\00:35:55.72 If the Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week 00:35:55.75\00:35:58.20 because of the resurrection, 00:35:58.23\00:35:59.48 Paul when he preached on that Sabbath would have told them. 00:35:59.51\00:36:02.45 Hey, we need to start keeping the first day of the week, 00:36:02.48\00:36:05.24 but nowhere does he mentioned this in his sermon 00:36:05.27\00:36:08.30 or any of his writings. 00:36:08.33\00:36:09.88 Now if anyone knew that 00:36:09.91\00:36:11.35 the resurrection would change the Sabbath, 00:36:11.38\00:36:12.92 surely it would be Paul 00:36:12.95\00:36:14.22 because he was converted three-and-a-half years 00:36:14.25\00:36:17.19 after the resurrection of Christ. 00:36:17.22\00:36:20.28 But, friends, he makes no reference 00:36:20.31\00:36:22.38 to it being changed because it wasn't. 00:36:22.41\00:36:24.02 In fact, I want you to notice what happened 00:36:24.05\00:36:25.48 when the sermon was over. 00:36:25.51\00:36:26.68 There were some gentile believers 00:36:26.71\00:36:28.12 that wanted Paul to preach to them as well. 00:36:28.15\00:36:29.95 And in verses 42-44, the Bible says, 00:36:29.98\00:36:33.04 "And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles." 00:36:33.07\00:36:36.32 The who? 00:36:36.35\00:36:37.74 "The Gentiles besought that these words might be 00:36:37.77\00:36:40.09 preached to them," when, "the next Sabbath." 00:36:40.12\00:36:42.47 And so they said, "Paul, would you please 00:36:42.50\00:36:44.07 give us the sermon the next Sabbath?" 00:36:44.10\00:36:45.26 And, friends, listen, 00:36:45.29\00:36:46.32 if the Sabbath was changed to the first day of the week 00:36:46.35\00:36:48.26 or if the Sabbath was just for the Jews 00:36:48.29\00:36:50.45 and Sunday was for the gentiles, 00:36:50.48\00:36:52.02 Paul would have told these gentile believers, 00:36:52.05\00:36:53.59 hey, you don't have to wait till next Sabbath, 00:36:53.62\00:36:55.40 just come tomorrow morning, 00:36:55.43\00:36:56.56 we can have Sunday school and Sunday worship. 00:36:56.59\00:36:59.04 But he doesn't say this, friends. 00:36:59.07\00:37:01.02 In fact, notice what he continued to say then, 00:37:01.05\00:37:03.62 in the next verse, "Paul and Barnabas, 00:37:03.65\00:37:06.07 who, speaking to them, persuaded them." 00:37:06.10\00:37:09.25 What is that word? 00:37:09.28\00:37:10.42 "Continue in the, what, grace of God." 00:37:10.45\00:37:13.39 You see, friends, these were believers, gentile believers, 00:37:13.42\00:37:16.34 and they were not under the law, 00:37:16.37\00:37:18.30 they were under grace. 00:37:18.33\00:37:20.27 They were grace filled Christians. 00:37:20.30\00:37:22.21 Paul said, "Continue in the grace." 00:37:22.24\00:37:24.68 And yet we see that even though 00:37:24.71\00:37:26.05 they were grace filled Christians, 00:37:26.08\00:37:28.34 they still kept the Sabbath. 00:37:28.37\00:37:29.43 You know why? 00:37:29.46\00:37:30.49 Because people who are filled with the grace of God, 00:37:30.52\00:37:31.55 they don't want to keep the Sabbath day 00:37:31.58\00:37:33.11 as a special sign between them and God. 00:37:33.14\00:37:35.79 "And the next Sabbath day, 00:37:35.82\00:37:37.69 came almost the whole city together 00:37:37.72\00:37:40.71 to hear the word of God." 00:37:40.74\00:37:43.47 Now sometimes the New Testament Church had no place to worship. 00:37:43.50\00:37:47.12 So notice what they did. 00:37:47.15\00:37:48.18 They went out in nature and they worship God. 00:37:48.21\00:37:50.07 In Acts 16:13, it says, 00:37:50.10\00:37:52.06 "And on the Sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, 00:37:52.09\00:37:54.73 where prayer was customarily made." 00:37:54.76\00:37:56.50 You see, they were able to worship God in nature. 00:37:56.53\00:37:58.30 Why? 00:37:58.33\00:37:59.36 Because remember, it's not the place that's holy, 00:37:59.39\00:38:01.74 it is the, what? 00:38:01.77\00:38:03.24 The time that is holy. 00:38:03.27\00:38:05.89 In fact, notice another one. 00:38:05.92\00:38:06.97 Acts 18:4, it says, talking about the Apostle Paul 00:38:07.00\00:38:10.44 when he was at Corinth. 00:38:10.47\00:38:11.92 It says, "And he reasoned in the synagogue, 00:38:11.95\00:38:14.24 how many Sabbaths? 00:38:14.27\00:38:15.45 Every Sabbath, and persuaded, who, the Jews and the Greeks." 00:38:15.48\00:38:20.99 Both Jew and the gentile keeping the Sabbath 00:38:21.02\00:38:23.12 after the resurrection of Christ. 00:38:23.15\00:38:25.26 And it says the Paul persuaded, 00:38:25.29\00:38:26.64 he was there every single Sabbath. 00:38:26.67\00:38:28.58 This happened in Corinth 00:38:28.61\00:38:29.92 and Paul was in the Church of Corinth 00:38:29.95\00:38:31.89 for one-and-a-half years. 00:38:31.92\00:38:33.70 And, friends, do you know how many Sabbaths 00:38:33.73\00:38:34.93 is there in one-and-a-half years? 00:38:34.96\00:38:36.17 Seventy-eight. 00:38:36.20\00:38:37.30 And so there you have most of the Sabbaths right there. 00:38:37.33\00:38:39.14 Seventy-eight times the Apostle Paul 00:38:39.17\00:38:41.47 and the New Testament Church, 00:38:41.50\00:38:42.76 Jew and gentile keeping the seventh day Sabbath. 00:38:42.79\00:38:45.20 We see, both in the Old Testament 00:38:45.23\00:38:46.99 and in the New Testament, 00:38:47.02\00:38:48.28 the Sabbath was a special sign of a special relationship 00:38:48.31\00:38:51.59 between God and His people. 00:38:51.62\00:38:53.94 And, friends, if this is clear, would you please say amen? 00:38:53.97\00:38:56.47 Now some might be wondering. 00:38:56.50\00:38:58.07 What about when the apostles worship 00:38:58.10\00:39:00.30 on the first day of the week? 00:39:00.33\00:39:01.78 I mean, didn't they have a church service in Acts 20, 00:39:01.81\00:39:04.76 on the first day of the week? 00:39:04.79\00:39:06.18 And, friends, the answer is yes. 00:39:06.21\00:39:07.45 They worship on the first day of the week. 00:39:07.48\00:39:09.54 Not only the worship on the first day, 00:39:09.57\00:39:11.07 but they worship on the second 00:39:11.10\00:39:12.62 and the third and the fourth 00:39:12.65\00:39:14.64 and the fifth and the sixth, and especially the seventh. 00:39:14.67\00:39:16.77 You see, friends, 00:39:16.80\00:39:17.83 we should worship God every day of the week. 00:39:17.86\00:39:20.44 Can you say amen? 00:39:20.47\00:39:21.72 You see, our lives ought to constantly be worshipping God. 00:39:21.75\00:39:25.80 You see, we can worship God every single day of the week 00:39:25.83\00:39:29.18 but, friends, the Sabbath is not just a day of worship. 00:39:29.21\00:39:32.44 It's a day to cease from all our secular activities. 00:39:32.47\00:39:36.66 It's a 24 hour period, not just a day to go to church, 00:39:36.69\00:39:39.44 but a 24 hour period to totally unplugged from the world, 00:39:39.47\00:39:43.35 and this is what the human heart really needs. 00:39:43.38\00:39:46.01 It's a day to cease from a secular. 00:39:46.04\00:39:47.85 We don't have to worry about paying the bills 00:39:47.88\00:39:49.44 and going out and doing Aarons 00:39:49.47\00:39:51.26 or mowing the lawn or catching the football game. 00:39:51.29\00:39:53.57 All of these things, we can put all those aside 00:39:53.60\00:39:56.16 totally unplugged from the world 00:39:56.19\00:39:58.31 and plug in to the sweet rest of Jesus. 00:39:58.34\00:40:02.12 Now, friends, I'm going to give you 00:40:02.15\00:40:03.18 a handout on your way out tonight 00:40:03.21\00:40:04.24 that explains eight biblical principles 00:40:04.27\00:40:06.09 of what it means to keep the Sabbath day holy. 00:40:06.12\00:40:08.80 Because many people who keeps Sunday as the Sabbath for them. 00:40:08.83\00:40:11.15 It's just a day to go to church, 00:40:11.18\00:40:12.30 and then after that they do their own thing. 00:40:12.33\00:40:13.93 But, friends, biblically 00:40:13.96\00:40:15.52 it's 24 hours of sweet sacred time with Jesus. 00:40:15.55\00:40:20.72 Now, friends, while we can worship God every single day, 00:40:20.75\00:40:23.92 we cannot keep every day holy. 00:40:23.95\00:40:26.11 Do you know why? 00:40:26.14\00:40:27.22 Because not every day is holy to begin with. 00:40:27.25\00:40:30.06 You see in the Bible, God made six days as common work days. 00:40:30.09\00:40:33.78 The days that we ought to do our works 00:40:33.81\00:40:35.31 and only the seventh is the holy day. 00:40:35.34\00:40:38.04 Now, friends, it's impossible for man 00:40:38.07\00:40:40.39 to make anything holy because we're unholy. 00:40:40.42\00:40:42.92 And so now we go to Acts 20 and answer the question. 00:40:42.95\00:40:45.38 What about when the disciples worship 00:40:45.41\00:40:46.72 on the first day of the week. 00:40:46.75\00:40:48.25 Is this a biblical precedent 00:40:48.28\00:40:49.62 that we ought to keep Sunday as the Sabbath? 00:40:49.65\00:40:51.64 Let's find out exactly what was taking place. 00:40:51.67\00:40:54.81 Notice with me in Acts 20:7-9. 00:40:54.84\00:40:57.74 Please, write it down. 00:40:57.77\00:40:58.80 Notice with me on the screen. 00:40:58.83\00:41:00.09 The Bible says, "And upon the first day of the week, 00:41:00.12\00:41:02.93 when the disciples came together to break bread, 00:41:02.96\00:41:05.45 Paul preached unto them, 00:41:05.48\00:41:07.09 ready to depart, when, on the morrow, 00:41:07.12\00:41:10.85 and continued his speech until, when, midnight. 00:41:10.88\00:41:14.79 And there were many lights in the upper chamber, 00:41:14.82\00:41:16.91 where they were gathered together." 00:41:16.94\00:41:19.05 Here we find the Apostle Paul preaching. 00:41:19.08\00:41:21.02 It's the first day of the week. 00:41:21.05\00:41:22.20 The disciples are breaking bread 00:41:22.23\00:41:23.71 and people read this surfacely, 00:41:23.74\00:41:26.41 and they think that this is a Biblical precedent 00:41:26.44\00:41:28.16 that we ought to keep the first day of the week as the Sabbath. 00:41:28.19\00:41:30.19 Well, friends there's nothing in this passage 00:41:30.22\00:41:31.89 that says that the Sabbath was changed because of this. 00:41:31.92\00:41:35.07 The Sabbath is even in this passage 00:41:35.10\00:41:37.57 and nothing is mentioned 00:41:37.60\00:41:39.25 that the first day was anything special in this context. 00:41:39.28\00:41:43.68 You see, friends. 00:41:43.71\00:41:44.92 We need to have a clear Biblical command 00:41:44.95\00:41:47.76 if we want to change something that God 00:41:47.79\00:41:50.18 wrote with His own finger on Tablets of Stone. 00:41:50.21\00:41:52.90 Can you say amen? 00:41:52.93\00:41:54.00 Now the fact that they broke bread 00:41:54.03\00:41:55.42 on the first day of the week 00:41:55.45\00:41:56.54 doesn't make it a Sabbath because in Acts 2:46, 00:41:56.57\00:42:00.27 Bible says that they broke bread every single day. 00:42:00.30\00:42:02.94 But nonetheless we find that this is a worship service 00:42:02.97\00:42:05.67 and it is happening on the first day of the week. 00:42:05.70\00:42:07.78 Paul preached and he speaks until midnight. 00:42:07.81\00:42:11.65 Then notice what happens. 00:42:11.68\00:42:13.25 It says, "And there sat in a window 00:42:13.28\00:42:16.44 a certain young man named Eutychus, 00:42:16.47\00:42:18.45 and being fallen into a deep sleep, 00:42:18.48\00:42:20.77 as Paul was long preaching, 00:42:20.80\00:42:24.16 he sunk down with sleep, 00:42:24.19\00:42:25.53 and fell down from the third loft, 00:42:25.56\00:42:28.20 and was taken up dead." 00:42:28.23\00:42:29.26 And so here we find 00:42:29.29\00:42:30.52 the Apostle is preaching on the first day of the week. 00:42:30.55\00:42:33.75 Which number? 00:42:33.78\00:42:35.22 And what time of the first day of the week? 00:42:35.25\00:42:36.93 The daytime or the dark time? 00:42:36.96\00:42:38.28 The dark time. 00:42:38.31\00:42:39.49 He continued to preach till midnight. 00:42:39.52\00:42:42.15 So here we find that this is happening 00:42:42.18\00:42:44.26 on the dark part of the first day of the week. 00:42:44.29\00:42:48.03 And, friends, question. When is that? 00:42:48.06\00:42:52.12 When do-- When do the days begin 00:42:52.15\00:42:54.98 and end according to the Bible? 00:42:55.01\00:42:57.15 You see, we reckon the beginning and ending of days from when? 00:42:57.18\00:43:00.05 Midnight to midnight. Is that right? 00:43:00.08\00:43:01.64 In our society, midnight to midnight. 00:43:01.67\00:43:02.91 That's the beginning and ending of days. 00:43:02.94\00:43:04.27 But, friends, back in these times 00:43:04.30\00:43:05.53 they didn't have watches to know when midnight was. 00:43:05.56\00:43:07.73 They began and end the days 00:43:07.76\00:43:09.65 based upon the position of the sun. 00:43:09.68\00:43:12.23 So when do days begin and end in the Bible. 00:43:12.26\00:43:14.03 I want you to notice. 00:43:14.06\00:43:15.14 Write these scriptures down. 00:43:15.17\00:43:16.38 Leviticus 23:32 tells us 00:43:16.41\00:43:19.58 from even to even shall you celebrate the Sabbath. 00:43:19.61\00:43:24.51 From when? 00:43:24.54\00:43:26.33 Even or evening to evening. 00:43:26.36\00:43:29.13 Friends, when do the days begin and end? 00:43:29.16\00:43:31.42 From evening to evening. 00:43:31.45\00:43:33.44 And, friends, when exactly is evening? 00:43:33.47\00:43:35.67 Mark 1:32 tells us, 00:43:35.70\00:43:38.34 "At even, when the sun did set." 00:43:38.37\00:43:43.75 So, friends, when do the days begin and end? 00:43:43.78\00:43:46.10 Sunset to sunset. 00:43:46.13\00:43:47.85 Remember, in the first week of creation, 00:43:47.88\00:43:49.33 God created the days and He said, 00:43:49.36\00:43:50.75 and the evening and the morning was the first day. 00:43:50.78\00:43:53.64 The evening and the morning, second day. 00:43:53.67\00:43:55.16 Evening and morning, third. 00:43:55.19\00:43:56.48 So when does the day begin? 00:43:56.51\00:43:57.54 In the evening or morning? 00:43:57.57\00:43:58.60 Evening. 00:43:58.63\00:43:59.66 And when is the evening? 00:43:59.69\00:44:00.72 When the sun sets. 00:44:00.75\00:44:02.20 And so in Acts 20, it is the first day of the week, 00:44:02.23\00:44:06.33 but it's the dark part of the first day of the week. 00:44:06.36\00:44:10.87 Friends, what would we call 00:44:10.90\00:44:12.72 the dark part of the first day of the week? 00:44:12.75\00:44:14.68 What would-- When the Sunday really begin? 00:44:14.71\00:44:17.42 It begins on what we would call Saturday night, right? 00:44:17.45\00:44:22.85 When it gets dark on Saturday, 00:44:22.88\00:44:24.90 that's the beginning of the first day of the week. 00:44:24.93\00:44:27.71 And so what was happening in Acts 20, 00:44:27.74\00:44:30.08 the disciples and God's people worshiping God 00:44:30.11\00:44:32.28 all Sabbath long that day. 00:44:32.31\00:44:34.64 And then when the Sabbath was ending 00:44:34.67\00:44:37.22 on what we would call Saturday night, 00:44:37.25\00:44:39.12 they continued to worship, 00:44:39.15\00:44:40.35 they continued to gather together. 00:44:40.38\00:44:43.17 And the reason why is because the Apostle Paul 00:44:43.20\00:44:45.16 was going to leave the next morning 00:44:45.19\00:44:47.11 never to see them again. 00:44:47.14\00:44:49.16 And so he preached and he spoke with them all night along, 00:44:49.19\00:44:52.21 but then you notice the next morning, 00:44:52.24\00:44:53.57 Sunday morning Paul did not stay there to have worship, 00:44:53.60\00:44:56.04 he simply travelled to another place. 00:44:56.07\00:44:57.49 Why? 00:44:57.52\00:44:58.55 Because that day was not sanctified. 00:44:58.58\00:45:00.44 It was not holy. It was not sacred. 00:45:00.47\00:45:02.68 It was a common day 00:45:02.71\00:45:04.08 for common travel and common work. 00:45:04.11\00:45:07.44 Are you with me, yes or no? 00:45:07.47\00:45:09.97 And so, if the first day of the week begins 00:45:10.00\00:45:13.10 on what we would call Saturday evening, 00:45:13.13\00:45:16.05 then when does the Sabbath begin? 00:45:16.08\00:45:19.02 The evening before on what we would call Friday evening. 00:45:19.05\00:45:24.15 Friends, when is the Sabbath? 00:45:24.18\00:45:25.24 From Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. 00:45:25.27\00:45:29.10 Friends, do you realize what time it is. 00:45:29.13\00:45:33.74 We call this Friday, 00:45:33.77\00:45:35.67 but it's the dark part of Friday now. 00:45:35.70\00:45:38.22 Friends, do you realize when the sunset today? 00:45:38.25\00:45:41.16 We have actually entered into the sacred holy hours 00:45:41.19\00:45:46.07 of the seven day Sabbath 00:45:46.10\00:45:47.46 where God has pronounced an extra special rich blessing. 00:45:47.49\00:45:51.25 And, friends, if you are hearing this for the first time, 00:45:51.28\00:45:53.20 I want to be the very first one 00:45:53.23\00:45:54.68 to wish you a very happy Sabbath. 00:45:54.71\00:45:59.18 You know why? 00:45:59.21\00:46:00.77 Because Sabbath is a happy day, friends. 00:46:00.80\00:46:03.20 This is the day that the Lord has made. 00:46:03.23\00:46:06.01 Let us be glad and rejoice it. 00:46:06.04\00:46:07.65 Why? 00:46:07.68\00:46:08.71 Because it reminds us that God is our Creator, 00:46:08.74\00:46:10.73 that He is our redeemer 00:46:10.76\00:46:12.18 and that we're saved only by resting in His completed work. 00:46:12.21\00:46:16.31 Oh, friends, it's a day of happy rejoicing, 00:46:16.34\00:46:19.29 not just a day to go to church, 00:46:19.32\00:46:20.46 but 24 hours of sacred time with sweet Jesus. 00:46:20.49\00:46:24.72 And, friends, it's a blessing that you can claim even tonight. 00:46:24.75\00:46:27.99 Can you say amen? Amen. 00:46:28.02\00:46:29.37 Now, friends, not only the disciples 00:46:29.40\00:46:30.77 after the resurrection keep the Sabbath in the New Testament, 00:46:30.80\00:46:33.24 but God is going to have end time disciples 00:46:33.27\00:46:35.39 who would do the exact same thing. 00:46:35.42\00:46:37.09 Notice in Revelation 14:12, 00:46:37.12\00:46:39.45 it says, "Here is the patience of the saints, 00:46:39.48\00:46:42.12 here are they that keep the commandments of God, 00:46:42.15\00:46:45.23 and the faith of Jesus." 00:46:45.26\00:46:47.29 God's end time people in the last days, 00:46:47.32\00:46:49.45 they are not only going to have faith in Jesus, 00:46:49.48\00:46:51.96 but they are going to keep the commandments of God. 00:46:51.99\00:46:54.19 They have a faith that works 00:46:54.22\00:46:55.73 because they love the Lord Jesus. 00:46:55.76\00:46:57.89 And when it says that they keep the commandments of God, 00:46:57.92\00:46:59.90 that's how many commandments? 00:46:59.93\00:47:01.90 Not just nine, but all ten. 00:47:01.93\00:47:04.13 They are going to experience the rest of Jesus Christ. 00:47:04.16\00:47:07.06 And by the way, friends, 00:47:07.09\00:47:08.12 you realize that we're also going to be keeping 00:47:08.15\00:47:09.18 the Sabbath in heaven. 00:47:09.21\00:47:10.35 It's Revelation's eternal sign of love. 00:47:10.38\00:47:13.00 Notice in Isaiah 66:22, 23, 00:47:13.03\00:47:15.67 it says, "For as the new heavens and the new earth, 00:47:15.70\00:47:17.94 which I will make from one Sabbath to another, 00:47:17.97\00:47:21.75 shall all flesh come to worship before me, says the Lord." 00:47:21.78\00:47:25.50 Friends, every single Sabbath in heaven, 00:47:25.53\00:47:27.70 we're going to meet at the throne of God, 00:47:27.73\00:47:29.84 we're going to be keeping it in heaven. 00:47:29.87\00:47:31.46 And, friends, I want to keep it in heaven. 00:47:31.49\00:47:32.65 How about you? 00:47:32.68\00:47:33.71 But before we keep it in heaven, 00:47:33.74\00:47:34.91 let's start keeping it down here 00:47:34.94\00:47:36.81 because we love the Lord Jesus Christ. 00:47:36.84\00:47:39.25 Yes, friends, it's Revelation's special sign of love given, 00:47:39.28\00:47:44.47 not just to the Jew, but for the entire human race. 00:47:44.50\00:47:47.99 But after going through all of these scriptures, 00:47:48.02\00:47:49.87 some people still ask me, 00:47:49.90\00:47:51.06 well, what difference does a day make? 00:47:51.09\00:47:53.30 I mean, come on, is God really that particular? 00:47:53.33\00:47:56.41 Can't I just choose one day out of seven? 00:47:56.44\00:47:58.83 Wouldn't God understand if I have to work on the Sabbath, 00:47:58.86\00:48:01.65 if I just take another day to rest? 00:48:01.68\00:48:04.06 Well, friends, just let me answer 00:48:04.09\00:48:05.12 that question with a question. 00:48:05.15\00:48:06.93 Can we ever trust our own reasoning? 00:48:06.96\00:48:09.72 Friends, the Bible tells us 00:48:09.75\00:48:11.57 that there is a way which seems right to a man, 00:48:11.60\00:48:16.06 but its end is the way of death. 00:48:16.09\00:48:18.47 It may seem right to us. 00:48:18.50\00:48:20.24 They just to pick one out of seven. 00:48:20.27\00:48:21.81 It may seem right to us to do what everyone else is doing 00:48:21.84\00:48:25.30 but, friends, if it's not found in the Bible, 00:48:25.33\00:48:28.06 what seems right to us leads to death 00:48:28.09\00:48:30.75 because the wages of sin is death 00:48:30.78\00:48:34.16 and sin is the breaking of the law. 00:48:34.19\00:48:37.73 Outwardly, there really is no difference in the days. 00:48:37.76\00:48:39.92 You know why? 00:48:39.95\00:48:40.98 Because it rains on the seventh day of the week 00:48:41.01\00:48:42.37 just like, it rains on the first day of the week. 00:48:42.40\00:48:44.60 It rains on every day of the week. 00:48:44.63\00:48:46.12 Outwardly, there seems to be no difference in the days. 00:48:46.15\00:48:49.39 But, friends, is there a difference, 00:48:49.42\00:48:52.48 and what is the difference? 00:48:52.51\00:48:54.73 The word of God. Amen. 00:48:54.76\00:48:57.26 What was the difference 00:48:57.29\00:48:58.32 in the trees in the Garden of Eden, the forbidden tree? 00:48:58.35\00:49:00.67 I don't think it was poisonous, friends. 00:49:00.70\00:49:02.18 The only thing that made a difference 00:49:02.21\00:49:03.24 is God's words said, "Do not eat of this fruit." 00:49:03.27\00:49:07.07 In the same way, when it comes to the Sabbath, 00:49:07.10\00:49:08.78 the only difference that is made 00:49:08.81\00:49:11.28 is the fact that God's word says it. 00:49:11.31\00:49:14.04 And so we find that the test is not just in the outward sign, 00:49:14.07\00:49:17.36 but in submission to the word 00:49:17.39\00:49:19.09 and the authority of God, our Creator 00:49:19.12\00:49:20.91 and that's why the Sabbath 00:49:20.94\00:49:22.48 is a sign that we believe that Jesus is our Lord. 00:49:22.51\00:49:26.89 He is the ruler of our lives 00:49:26.92\00:49:28.68 and He is the Savior of the world. 00:49:28.71\00:49:31.50 You see, friends, if God say keep Tuesday, 00:49:31.53\00:49:33.49 I'm going to keep Tuesday, it doesn't mater to me. 00:49:33.52\00:49:35.77 It's not about my convenience or my schedule, 00:49:35.80\00:49:38.49 it's about His holy word. 00:49:38.52\00:49:40.34 And the Bible tells us that we need to be consistent. 00:49:40.37\00:49:42.96 Jesus said that we ought to live by every word 00:49:42.99\00:49:46.92 that proceeds out of the mouth of God, 00:49:46.95\00:49:49.54 but some people cry. 00:49:49.57\00:49:51.09 But all we have to do is worship God in spirit and truth. 00:49:51.12\00:49:54.27 It does not matter where and when. 00:49:54.30\00:49:56.35 Just worship God in spirit and in truth. 00:49:56.38\00:49:58.76 And I agree that true worshippers 00:49:58.79\00:50:00.44 will worship God in spirit and in truth. 00:50:00.47\00:50:02.19 But, friends, what is truth? 00:50:02.22\00:50:05.18 The Bible tells us in Psalms 119:151, 00:50:05.21\00:50:08.15 "Thou art near, O Lord, 00:50:08.18\00:50:09.59 and all thy commandments are truth." 00:50:09.62\00:50:14.64 And so, friends, it's impossible 00:50:14.67\00:50:16.34 to really worship God in spirit and in truth, 00:50:16.37\00:50:19.44 if we're not worshiping in harmony 00:50:19.47\00:50:21.51 with all God's commandments. 00:50:21.54\00:50:24.01 And, friends, if that is clear, if that makes sense, 00:50:24.04\00:50:25.76 if that's logical, would you say amen? 00:50:25.79\00:50:28.96 And, friends, you shouldn't believe it 00:50:28.99\00:50:30.03 just because a man says it. 00:50:30.06\00:50:31.15 Go home and check for yourself. 00:50:31.18\00:50:33.07 And here's the challenge, here's the reward, 00:50:33.10\00:50:36.41 if you can find one verse. 00:50:36.44\00:50:38.71 How many verses? 00:50:38.74\00:50:40.17 Just one verse from Genesis to Revelation, 00:50:40.20\00:50:42.68 that says anything about Sunday being the Sabbath 00:50:42.71\00:50:45.46 or that the Sabbath was changed in the honor of the resurrection 00:50:45.49\00:50:48.09 or that we don't have to no longer keep the Sabbath 00:50:48.12\00:50:50.10 or that the Sabbath is just for Jews 00:50:50.13\00:50:51.45 and Sunday is for gentiles. 00:50:51.48\00:50:52.93 If you can find just one verse 00:50:52.96\00:50:55.03 that tells us we ought to keep Sunday as a day of worship, 00:50:55.06\00:50:57.84 as a day to be kept holy, just how many verses? 00:50:57.87\00:51:00.63 One verse, I'm going to give you a reward. 00:51:00.66\00:51:03.99 You see, right now we are living in difficult economy times. 00:51:04.02\00:51:06.88 Isn't that right? 00:51:06.91\00:51:07.94 How many of you could use an extra $10,000? 00:51:07.97\00:51:11.09 Could you use that? 00:51:11.12\00:51:13.32 If you can use that, would you please say amen? 00:51:13.35\00:51:16.05 Oh, some of you didn't say amen, wow. 00:51:16.08\00:51:20.12 Now, friends, I know and you know 00:51:20.15\00:51:21.99 that it won't hurt to have an extra $10,000, right? 00:51:22.02\00:51:25.24 And so here's the reward. 00:51:25.27\00:51:26.41 If you can find one verse that says anything 00:51:26.44\00:51:28.42 about Sunday being the Sabbath 00:51:28.45\00:51:29.61 and what I just mentioned just one verse, 00:51:29.64\00:51:31.50 and not a whole list of verses, just one, 00:51:31.53\00:51:33.78 more wealthy. 00:51:33.81\00:51:37.33 Because I have been looking for this verse for many years. 00:51:37.36\00:51:41.07 I have been searching and searching. 00:51:41.10\00:51:42.28 I've been asking on, a congregation and everyone, 00:51:42.31\00:51:45.62 and no one has ever found the verse, just one. 00:51:45.65\00:51:48.10 You know why? 00:51:48.13\00:51:49.16 Because it doesn't exist, friends. 00:51:49.19\00:51:51.34 And if you don't believe me, check for yourself. 00:51:51.37\00:51:55.21 That's the only reason why I say that. 00:51:55.24\00:51:56.41 Friends, do you think I have $10,000 00:51:56.44\00:51:57.99 to given to people all the time? 00:51:58.02\00:52:00.76 The reason why I said that 00:52:00.79\00:52:01.96 is so that you can know that we have nothing to hide. 00:52:01.99\00:52:04.70 The Bible, friends, is abundantly clear, 00:52:04.73\00:52:07.08 but you must check for yourself. 00:52:07.11\00:52:10.16 How many of you are going to do that tonight? 00:52:10.19\00:52:11.59 Check for yourself, friends. 00:52:11.62\00:52:13.33 You will not find a single verse 00:52:13.36\00:52:16.34 and that ought to say something clearly to you tonight. 00:52:16.37\00:52:18.91 Now, friends, if it is true 00:52:18.94\00:52:20.11 that Saturday is a true Biblical Sabbath, 00:52:20.14\00:52:22.23 then why do most people keep Sunday? 00:52:22.26\00:52:24.63 And here's the reason. 00:52:24.66\00:52:25.69 And this, brothers and sisters, 00:52:25.72\00:52:26.75 is how this topic ties in and connects with Bible prophecy 00:52:26.78\00:52:31.94 because the Bible tells us in Daniel 7:25 00:52:31.97\00:52:35.07 about the antichrist kingdom 00:52:35.10\00:52:37.43 that would think to change times and laws. 00:52:37.46\00:52:43.01 Friends, what is the only law in the Ten Commandments 00:52:43.04\00:52:44.80 that has to do with time? 00:52:44.83\00:52:46.18 The fourth commandment. 00:52:46.21\00:52:47.90 And why is it that most people keep Sunday as the Sabbath? 00:52:47.93\00:52:50.22 Because the antichrist kingdom 00:52:50.25\00:52:52.38 has come into the temple of God, the Christian Church. 00:52:52.41\00:52:55.57 Bringing false and confusing counterfeits. 00:52:55.60\00:52:59.60 This was the kingdom that changed the Sabbath 00:52:59.63\00:53:01.68 from Saturday the seventh day of the week 00:53:01.71\00:53:04.32 to Sunday the first day of the week 00:53:04.35\00:53:05.38 and many people have never heard this before 00:53:05.41\00:53:07.79 and many people are sincere, but they are sincerely mistaken 00:53:07.82\00:53:14.40 because of the antichrist power. 00:53:14.43\00:53:16.73 Now, friends, how many of you want to know who this is? 00:53:16.76\00:53:19.36 Do you want to know who this is? 00:53:19.39\00:53:21.79 Do you want to know who changed the Sabbath? 00:53:21.82\00:53:23.28 Who the antichrist is? 00:53:23.31\00:53:24.74 If you want to know, let me hear you say amen. 00:53:24.77\00:53:26.93 Are you sure, you want to know? 00:53:26.96\00:53:29.85 If so, say amen again. Amen. 00:53:29.88\00:53:32.38 Well, friends, if you really want to know, 00:53:32.41\00:53:35.34 you are going to have to come tomorrow night. 00:53:35.37\00:53:37.44 Because, friends, I don't want to give you my opinion. 00:53:40.97\00:53:44.22 You can throw my opinion in the garbage. 00:53:44.25\00:53:46.36 It does not matter what I say, what a man teaches, 00:53:46.39\00:53:49.53 what a church's doctrine is, what theologian say. 00:53:49.56\00:53:51.98 All that matters is what does the Bible say. 00:53:52.01\00:53:56.24 And tomorrow night, we're going to look at the 10 fingerprints 00:53:56.27\00:53:58.35 of who the antichrist is and the greatest deception 00:53:58.38\00:54:01.15 in changing God's times and laws. 00:54:01.18\00:54:03.21 Oh, friends, are you going to be here tomorrow night? 00:54:03.24\00:54:04.95 Oh, please, don't miss it, friends. 00:54:04.98\00:54:06.44 This is going to be powerful. 00:54:06.47\00:54:07.50 You see, tonight we have discovered what the sign is. 00:54:07.53\00:54:12.02 Tomorrow night we will see 00:54:12.05\00:54:13.84 why it's so important in light of Bible prophecy. 00:54:13.87\00:54:18.93 But, friends, as we beginning to close 00:54:18.96\00:54:20.60 though the Sabbath has largely been forgotten, 00:54:20.63\00:54:22.74 many people are studying the Bible 00:54:22.77\00:54:23.96 like, they'd never studied it before, 00:54:23.99\00:54:25.46 and they are discovering 00:54:25.49\00:54:26.84 and rediscovering this long forgotten truth, 00:54:26.87\00:54:28.80 the blessing of the Sabbath. 00:54:28.83\00:54:30.34 And love for Jesus is compelling many Christians 00:54:30.37\00:54:33.58 to go to their employers 00:54:33.61\00:54:35.78 to say to them I can no longer work 00:54:35.81\00:54:37.29 from Friday evening, to Saturday evening, 00:54:37.32\00:54:39.50 that's not your time, 00:54:39.53\00:54:40.90 that's not my time, it's the Lord's time. 00:54:40.93\00:54:43.82 A time of special sacredness and holiness. 00:54:43.85\00:54:46.50 Love for Jesus is compelling individuals 00:54:46.53\00:54:49.43 to follow Him in all things. 00:54:49.46\00:54:51.91 You see, friends, it's not a day to catch the movie 00:54:51.94\00:54:54.39 or to rush our car to do the airings. 00:54:54.42\00:54:56.47 It's 24 hours of sweet time with Jesus. 00:54:56.50\00:54:59.42 And, friends, think about that. 00:54:59.45\00:55:00.48 It's amazing to think that our God is not too big 00:55:00.51\00:55:04.29 and not too busy to spend quality special time with us. 00:55:04.32\00:55:08.95 Friends, who are you and who am I 00:55:08.98\00:55:11.30 that the God of heaven wants to spend this quality time with us. 00:55:11.33\00:55:14.29 Isn't it amazing, friends?
