of the book of Revelation

as we study about Revelations

What is this
knight in shining armor

we're referring to?

Well, friends,
knight in shining armors,
00:01:10.60\00:01:12.23
they are usually
heroic characters
00:01:12.26\00:01:15.86
that are found in
romantic literature
00:01:15.89\00:01:17.64
especially, during
the medieval times.
00:01:17.67\00:01:20.12
And these knights
were characterized
00:01:20.15\00:01:22.22
as courageous warriors
of justice and nobility
00:01:22.25\00:01:27.36
and mercy and hope and honor.
00:01:27.39\00:01:30.85
And tonight friends,
00:01:30.88\00:01:31.91
we're not gonna talk
about fiction or fantasies
00:01:31.94\00:01:34.13
but rather the
true biblical story
00:01:34.16\00:01:36.64
of Revelations
Knight in Shining Armor.

And we're gonna see tonight
00:01:39.17\00:01:40.20
that the book of
Revelation indeed

is a love story between
Jesus and His bride, the church.
00:01:42.37\00:01:49.49
Because in Bible prophecy
we read about a woman a bride
00:01:49.52\00:01:54.83
that is being
attacked by a terrible monster,
00:01:54.86\00:01:58.46
she is a damsel
that is in distress.
00:01:58.49\00:02:01.29
And she is
described in Revelation 12,
00:02:01.32\00:02:03.60
notice with me in verse 13.
00:02:03.63\00:02:06.63
and the Bible says,
00:02:06.66\00:02:09.72
"And when the dragon saw
that he was cast unto the earth,
00:02:09.75\00:02:12.50
he persecuted." Who?
00:02:12.53\00:02:14.69
"The woman which
brought forth the man child."
00:02:14.72\00:02:17.49
Here we find the dragon
00:02:17.52\00:02:19.46
is persecuting
and attacking a woman.
00:02:19.49\00:02:22.17
And we learned
before that the dragon
00:02:22.20\00:02:23.65
represents Satan
according to verse 9.

It says in verse 9, "The
great dragon was cast out,
00:02:26.38\00:02:28.63
that old serpent,
called the Devil, and Satan."

And so we find the dragon
who is Satan attacking a woman,

a damsel in distress, a
woman that is been attacked
00:02:34.42\00:02:37.94
and pursued by a
terrible monster,

the dragon that is none
other than Satan himself.

Well, who is this woman then?

We learned before
that in Bible prophecy,

the woman
represents God's people.

And friends many people believe

that this woman
described in Revelation 12

is none other than Israel.
00:02:55.15\00:02:56.88
And friends, I am
gonna agreement with that
00:02:56.91\00:02:59.04
but as we learned last night
00:02:59.07\00:03:00.73
who is Israel according
to New Testament theology.
00:03:00.76\00:03:04.16
It is none other than
00:03:04.19\00:03:05.22
the New
Testament Christian church,
00:03:05.25\00:03:06.90
isn't that right?

Its God's people
made of Jew and Gentile.

This woman of
Revelation 12 is represented
00:03:10.22\00:03:13.55
of spiritual
Israel in the last days

which simply
means the church of God

and this is consistent
with New Testament theology.
00:03:17.42\00:03:20.59
In fact notice, in
Ephesians 5:25 it says,

"Husbands love your wives,
even as Christ also loved."

What? "The church
and gave himself for it."

And then you find
in 2 Corinthians 11:2
00:03:30.27\00:03:32.74
and Jeremiah 6:2 and many
other passages make very clearly
00:03:32.77\00:03:36.99
that the woman
represents the church.
00:03:37.02\00:03:39.20
In the Old
Testament it was Israel.
00:03:39.23\00:03:40.77
Israel is the church
but in the New Testament,
00:03:40.80\00:03:42.75
spiritual Israel is the woman
00:03:42.78\00:03:44.53
which represents
the New Testament church
00:03:44.56\00:03:46.45
made of Jew and Gentile alike.
00:03:46.48\00:03:48.13
And we studied that
in detail last night.

And so as we see a
dragon attacking this woman
00:03:50.65\00:03:53.09
it's a symbol of Satan
trying to destroy you and I,

God's people, his church.

And I want is to
notice whom the devil uses

to try to destroy us.

In chapter 13:4, we looked
at this on a previous night.

The Bible says, "And
they worshipped the dragon
00:04:08.13\00:04:10.45
which gave power un
to the, whom, the beast.
00:04:10.48\00:04:13.67
And they worshipped the beast,
00:04:13.70\00:04:14.81
saying, Who is
like unto the beast?
00:04:14.84\00:04:16.05
And who is able to make."

What? "War with him?"

Here we find the dragon

who is Satan
empowers this beast system

that we're gonna
study on a future night,

to make war with the
woman the church of God.

In fact notice verse 7,
"And it was given unto him

to make war with the." Who?

"The saints." That's
the woman, the church.
00:04:34.36\00:04:36.18
"And to overcome them.
00:04:36.21\00:04:37.52
And power was given him
00:04:37.55\00:04:38.58
over all kindreds,
and tongues, and nations."

And so here we find the dragon

empowers this beast
kingdom to attack and destroy

the bride of
Christ the church of God.

And the question is
asked in this passage,

who is able to
make war with the beast?

I mean the woman doesn't
have a--doesn't stand the chance

in her own strength
against this beast kingdom.
00:05:00.34\00:05:04.05
You see, we are no match
for Satan and the Antichrist.
00:05:04.08\00:05:07.58
Friends, we have
no power in ourselves.
00:05:07.61\00:05:11.16
It is impossible
for us to overcome
00:05:11.19\00:05:13.01
in this war in our own merits.
00:05:13.04\00:05:15.44
And so the question is asked,

who is able to make a war
00:05:16.97\00:05:19.13
against the
beast and the dragon?

Well, this question is
answered in Revelation 19

because in the 19 chapter
of the book of Revelation

it describes
someone that is coming
00:05:29.75\00:05:31.67
to the rescue of the woman.
00:05:31.70\00:05:33.25
And this knight in shining armor
00:05:33.28\00:05:35.74
is coming to slay the
dragon, to slay the beast
00:05:35.77\00:05:38.98
and to save the
damsel in distress.

Here is Revelations
Knight in Shining Armor,

here comes King Jesus,
riding on a white horse.
00:05:43.86\00:05:48.36
The dragon maybe
attacking you tonight--
00:05:48.39\00:05:50.52
attacking your
finances, and your marriage,
00:05:50.55\00:05:52.47
and your family,
and your children
00:05:52.50\00:05:53.98
but don't worry there's someone
that's coming to our rescue,
00:05:54.01\00:05:57.11
King Jesus, can

And when he comes,
he's not coming alone.

Notice, what it says in
the next verse, verse 14,

And out of his mouth

Here is the
weapon of the knight.

From his mouth
goes a sharp sword.

What is that sword?

It is the sword of the
spirit which is the word of God.

It comes of His
mouth, it's the word friends.

And notice this
word is going to judge

and destroy the wicked.

It says, "out of his
mouth goes a sharp sword.

That with it He
should smite the nations

and He shall rule
them with a rod of iron

and he treadeth the
winepress of the fierceness

and wrath of Almighty God.

And He hath on his vesture
and on his thigh a name written,

Friends what we're reading here

is the description
of the second coming

of our Lord and
savior Jesus Christ,

He is the Knight
in Shining Armor.

Now friends when
the Bible describes

Jesus coming on a white horse
00:06:54.63\00:06:56.58
it's not because He's
literally gonna come back
00:06:56.61\00:06:58.63
on a white horse.
00:06:58.66\00:07:00.09
It's a symbol and back in
these times people understood
00:07:00.12\00:07:03.75
that whenever a king
would come to a specific place
00:07:03.78\00:07:06.94
riding on a white
horse, it was a symbol that,
00:07:06.97\00:07:09.74
that king was coming
as a conquering king,
00:07:09.77\00:07:12.63
a triumphing
king, a victorious king.
00:07:12.66\00:07:15.74
And that's how Jesus is
gonna come the second time.
00:07:15.77\00:07:18.70
Not literally on a white horse
but literally as a triumphant,

conquering and victorious king,
00:07:22.25\00:07:24.54

You see, his second coming
00:07:25.71\00:07:26.76
is not gonna be
like His first coming.

In His first coming
He came as a humble babe,

as a suffering servant.

In His first coming He
rode into Jerusalem on a donkey,
00:07:32.34\00:07:35.30
symbolized that He was
coming as a suffering servant
00:07:35.33\00:07:38.67
to die for the
sins of the world.

But the second time He comes
it's not gonna be on a donkey.
00:07:40.65\00:07:43.65
Friends, it's gonna
be upon a white stallion
00:07:43.68\00:07:46.21
representing that He is King
of kings and the Lord of lords.

You see, this world
has been hijacked by Satan.
00:07:49.49\00:07:52.63
And so the rightful King is
gonna come to take you back,

And He is coming
for two main reasons.
00:07:56.43\00:07:59.94
Number 1, He is coming to
slay the beast and the dragon.

But more
importantly than that, number 2,

He is coming to save you
and I, the church, the woman,
00:08:05.85\00:08:08.92
the damsel in distress.
00:08:08.95\00:08:10.60
Oh, friends don't you see,
that the book of Revelation
00:08:10.63\00:08:12.86
is a love story
between Christ and His bride.
00:08:12.89\00:08:16.87
On a white horse He's
coming, it's a symbol.
00:08:16.90\00:08:19.88
And by the way friends
He's not just a warrior King,
00:08:19.91\00:08:23.21
he's also a lovesick husband
that wants to be with His wife.

I remember when I was
in India, a few years ago
00:08:28.63\00:08:30.66
I got the chance to go there
00:08:30.69\00:08:31.99
and do some
meetings like this in India.
00:08:32.02\00:08:33.85
And on our last day they
were rushing to the airport
00:08:33.88\00:08:36.49
and the streets of
India were so crowded
00:08:36.52\00:08:39.01
and passed by this
scene and I took this picture.
00:08:39.04\00:08:41.49
It was a man
riding on a white horse.
00:08:41.52\00:08:45.02
And I asked my
driver, what was taking place,
00:08:45.05\00:08:47.51
you know what he said?
00:08:47.54\00:08:48.58
He said that, "that man
riding on that white horse
00:08:48.61\00:08:50.85
was a husband going to pick up
his bride on his wedding day."
00:08:50.88\00:08:54.48
And we see the same symbolism
right here in the Revelation.
00:08:56.18\00:08:59.05
Jesus, riding on
a white horse, why?
00:08:59.08\00:09:01.49
Because He's not just King
of kings and Lord of lords.
00:09:01.52\00:09:04.00
He is not only a
judge and a warrior,
00:09:04.03\00:09:06.35
but he's a lovesick King
00:09:06.38\00:09:07.69
that is coming for
his Bride, the church.

Oh, friends, it's a love story
between Jesus and His bride,

And friends when we look
at the book of Revelation in--

with these glasses
it's not a scary book,
00:09:16.93\00:09:19.86
it's a powerful book
that gives us so much hope

that we don't have to be afraid
00:09:22.74\00:09:24.50
of what the beast and dragon
is doing in these last days.

Because our knight
is coming to save us,

want you to notice,

as the bride is being attacked,

He comes to her rescue.

happens to her attackers.

It says, "And I saw the beast,

and the Kings of the
earth, and their armies

gathered together
to make war against him

that sate on the
horse, and against his army.
00:09:49.15\00:09:51.41
And the beast was taken,
and with him the false prophet,
00:09:51.44\00:09:54.32
that wrought
miracles before him,
00:09:54.35\00:09:55.93
with which he deceived them
00:09:55.96\00:09:57.02
that had received
the mark of the beast,

and them that
worshipped his image.

These both were cast
alive into a lake of fire

burning with brimstone.

And the remnant were slain."

The remnant was what? Slain.

"Slain with the sword of
him that sat upon the horse,

to be the main guests.

Jesus Himself is gonna serve us.

But if we're part of
the feast of the fouls,

we're not gonna
be the main guests,

we're gonna be the main course.

don't know about you

but I don't want any
buzzard picking on me,

And so tonight
it makes good sense

to allow Jesus to
prepare us for the wedding day.

And the thing that prepares
the wife for her wedding

is putting on that
wedding dress that represents
00:11:09.06\00:11:11.77
the
righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Friends, you want to
be ready for His coming?

Oh, my friends, the
promise of His return
00:11:16.45\00:11:18.99
is also attended with very
serious and solemn warnings.
00:11:19.02\00:11:23.97
I want you notice, Jesus
warned us about what's Satan
00:11:24.00\00:11:26.90
and the beast power is
going to do in the last days?
00:11:26.93\00:11:29.87
In Matthew 24:4-5, we're
gonna study this whole chapter
00:11:29.90\00:11:33.32
in detail this coming Saturday.
00:11:33.35\00:11:35.04
But notice in
Matthew 24:4-5, Jesus said,
00:11:35.07\00:11:38.22
"Take heed that no man do."
00:11:38.25\00:11:40.29
What? "Deceive you.
00:11:40.32\00:11:42.71
For many shall come in my
name, saying, I am Christ,
00:11:42.74\00:11:47.15
and shall deceive many."
00:11:47.18\00:11:48.82
Here Jesus warns
that in the last days
00:11:48.85\00:11:51.27
that Satan will
seek to deceive the bride
00:11:51.30\00:11:55.16
by false Christ
by false husbands.
00:11:55.19\00:11:57.72
And friends he says
it again in verse 24,
00:11:57.75\00:12:01.53
he says "For there
shall arise false Christ's,
00:12:01.56\00:12:03.20
and false prophets,
and shall show great signs
00:12:03.23\00:12:06.27
and wonders, insomuch
that, if it were possible,
00:12:06.30\00:12:09.01
they shall
deceive the very elect."
00:12:09.04\00:12:12.82
So the Bible says "that
Satan will have the power
00:12:12.85\00:12:14.96
to perform signs and
wonders claiming to be Christ."

But really it's the Antichrist.

And those who are
custom to living by their sight
00:12:20.13\00:12:22.77
and their senses they
can easily be let astray

by these falls miracles.

Friends make no
mistake about it.

Miracles are not an
invitation of truth,

how can we know what truth is?

Not by what we see or how
we view or what a preacher says

but by the word of God,
can you say, Amen? Amen.

That's the only way where
we can know what truth is.

So here Jesus is warning us,

He says "yes I'm gonna
come again but be careful,

don't be deceived by a false
Christ that claims to be Me."

And then He gets
even more specific
00:12:53.45\00:12:56.04
and tells us what
some of Satan's deceptions
00:12:56.07\00:12:58.61
are gonna be in the last days.
00:12:58.64\00:13:00.81
Notice in verse 26 of
Matthew 24, write it down.
00:13:00.84\00:13:05.06
Jesus said, "Wherefore
if they shall say unto you,
00:13:05.09\00:13:08.28
Behold, he is in the
desert, do not go forth,
00:13:08.31\00:13:12.88
behold, he is in the." What?
00:13:12.91\00:13:15.14
"Secret chambers."
Are we to believe it?
00:13:15.17\00:13:18.18
"Believe it not" Jesus says.
00:13:18.21\00:13:20.32
So Christ here is prophesying
that in the last days

there will be false teachings
00:13:22.62\00:13:25.13
about how Jesus would come back.
00:13:25.16\00:13:28.06
And so Christ warns
us, if they say to you

that I am in the secret
chambers or if I'm in the desert
00:13:30.56\00:13:33.67
don't go there
and don't believe it
00:13:33.70\00:13:35.53
because this is not the
way that I am going to return.

So Christ warns us that
there will be false teachings
00:13:39.65\00:13:43.46
about the manner in which
He will come in the last days.

And so we need to
be very, very careful

of false teachings about
the second coming of Christ.

You see, friends, to many people
00:13:55.94\00:13:57.83
the second coming of Christ
is gonna catch them of God.

To many it's gonna come
upon them with blinding force

and as a overwhelming surprise.

You know why?

For the same
reason most people missed

the first coming of Jesus.

The Bible tells us, "When
the Jesus came the first time,

that He came to His own
but his own received Him not."

Friends, why was it
that the religious world
00:14:21.21\00:14:23.55
missed the
first coming of Jesus.
00:14:23.58\00:14:27.10
For the same reason why
that many in the Christian world

will also miss the
second coming of Jesus.

Because during the
time of His first coming,

the religious
teachers of the day
00:14:36.96\00:14:39.06
had an unbiblical view of
how the Messiah would come.

And amongst the
laity, the church members

few of them were studying
the Bible for themselves

they were just
listening to what the priest
00:14:50.12\00:14:52.08
and the pastors
that they were saying.
00:14:52.11\00:14:54.64
But friends they
had the wrong belief.
00:14:54.67\00:14:56.87
They had an
incorrect understanding
00:14:56.90\00:14:59.12
about how the Messiah would come
00:14:59.15\00:15:01.07

People read this and they say

He is coming like
a thief in the night.

And they assume that this
means secretly and silently.

This verse is
found in 2 Peter 3:10.

But I want us to notice
carefully it does not say

that the Lord will come
as a thief in the night.

about how the Lord is coming
